For cocktail hour, we incorporated custom pink and green toile fabric featuring elements of our wedding day, adorned the bars with palm fronds, and added playful details like barrel matches and flag straws printed with our H logo. For the reception, we embraced the theme of ‘Lowcountry Creek meets Palm Beach Chic,’ where the soft hues of light pinks and lush greens were complemented by textured palms, cascading florals, and rich greenery. Inspired by the charm of Pawleys Island and the elegance of Palm Beach, each table featured special details—from artisanal touches in the place settings to subtle accents woven into the bouquets and centerpieces. The evening came alive with sparkling fireworks, creating a magical finale that perfectly reflected the romance and whimsy of the day.

[field title=”Proposal Story”]
We got engaged on our third dating anniversary at our favorite spot, the Sea View Inn—a charming bed and breakfast owned by my family—surrounded by our closest family and friends. He brought me out to the beach and proposed on the deck with the ocean behind us, making the moment absolutely magical. My best college friends even flew in to celebrate, and it was also my 25th birthday that weekend! We partied all night, hopping on a party bus that took us to our favorite local dive, The PIT Pawleys Island Tavern, making it a truly unforgettable kickoff to the weekend.

Our specialty cocktails included a Blood Orange Margarita and a Hugo Spritz, each served with custom flag straws that echoed the flags on the sailcloth tent. Guests enjoyed a decadent selection of stations, including a beef tenderloin carving station, a crab cake station, a crostini station, and a sushi station presented atop a stunning shell ice sculpture. Later in the evening, a Krispy Kreme donut paired with mini espresso martinis offered the perfect late-night sweet treat.

[field title=”Florals & Decor”]
The florals, designed by Stephanie Gibbs Events, combined the soft elegance of peonies, the exotic allure of orchids, and the rustic charm of sweetgrass basket flowers in both bouquets and boutonnieres. The reception featured a custom-built lattice entrance and band backdrop by C-Creative Group of Charleston, painted in Tansy Green by Sherwin-Williams to complement the bars and lattice, with romantic blush draping by Veil Charleston. Crane side tables added a charming Lowcountry creek touch, while a whitewashed wood floor anchored the sailcloth tent. Custom ‘H’ flags adorned the tent, and a shell ice sculpture graced the sushi station. Guests were seated by the dance floor on plush pink velvet chairs that perfectly echoed the bridesmaids’ fabric, tying together the textures, colors, and overall romantic aesthetic of the celebration.

[field title=”Wedding Cake”]
Jim Smeal created a five-tier buttercream cake, designed to echo the custom lattice, the bridesmaids’ dress fabric, florals, and butterfly motif. Guests were offered lemon and almond flavors.

Beyond the setting, the personal touches made the day unforgettable. Our neighbor, who coordinates the town’s Fourth of July fireworks, put on a private pink and green show over the creek for us, which was magical.

[field title=”Special Detail #2″]We also added a playful nod to Myrtle Beach, just north of us, with a custom airbrush hat station—guests loved leaving with a fun, personalized keepsake. Altogether, it felt like a perfect reflection of us and the place we love most.[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #3″]The dance floor was a stunning custom watercolor design inspired by the bridesmaids’ dress fabric, perfectly tying together the color palette and overall aesthetic of the wedding.
