This Seattle Wedding Has the Ultimate Cool Factor

To put it simply, I’m obsessed with this Seattle wedding; it’s the definition of cool. The BHLDN wedding dress with peek-a-boo lace details. The lush white and green bouquet from Studio 3 Floral Design. The urban Fremont Foundry venue. The gorgeous calligraphy from Songbird Paperie. Trust me when I say you don’t want to miss any of Alexandra Grace Photography‘s pretty pictures. So, head to The Vault now!

From Perfectly Posh Events… Makayla & Johnny are truly one of the sweetest couples who are deeply-madly in love. They are college sweethearts who met attending Oregon State University and they now live in St. Louis. They selected Seattle as the destination for their wedding because they love the Pacific Northwest and have close family & friend ties in the area. Makayla & Johnny did most of their planning from a distance and even booked their urban venue, the Fremont Foundry, sight-unseen!

Their overall vision was a simple and fresh wedding in an urban setting with a mix of modern and vintage that showcased the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest. They chose a mix of copper, neutrals and natural greens as their color palette, which popped off the concrete setting at the Fremont Foundry beautifully. Johnny & Makayla wanted their guests to have a blast at their wedding so they incorporated an ice cream sandwich food truck and slow motion booth at the reception and both were definitely a big hit! The night ended with a sparkler departure and mini-bud vases of flowers for each guests as a favor.

Take a Stylish Cue from This Bride and Rock a Topknot

We’re calling it, Bride’s everywhere will be rocking a topknot in 2016. Take this Parisian garden party celebration as proof. Captured by the talented Jeff Sampson Photography this is one stylish celebration that you won’t want to miss. See it all elegantly unfold in The Vault!

From the Bride… Tony and I met at our first job at a local supermarket in Orange City IA in 2007 when we were both 16. Within a month of working there we started dating and have been together ever since! After 7 years of being together we were ready to plan our big day.On October 18, 2014 he proposed with a kitten. The kitten had a collar around it’s neck that read, “Will You Marry Me”. How could I resist that?! Of course, I said yes! We named him Norman and he is the sweetest most lovable cat! It was the best proposal I could have asked for.

My mom, sister, and I have owned Chrysalis Bridal Salon in Orange City, IA for the past 5 years so it was so exciting to finally plan a wedding that was my own! After going through the process of being engaged and getting married I feel like a have a better understanding of what our customers are actually going through. Since we own a bridal shop, my wedding dress options were endless. I actually picked my dress from a picture from one of brands we carried (Maggie Sottero) and never tried it on before ordering it. As soon as I saw it, I knew it was the one I had been searching for dreaming of. I chose a metallic floral ball gown with a detachable beaded jacket. I wore the jacket for the ceremony and took it off for the reception. It was so me and I have never seen a dress like it! Since I work with my mom and sister everyday they helped me plan about every aspect of my wedding. Because we are in the wedding industry I knew which vendors I wanted to use right away and once the date was set and everything fell into place.

On October 3, 2015 we got married at Dordt College in Sioux Center, IA, with 150 of our closest friends and relatives celebrating with us. I attended Dordt College and graduated in 2014 and have always thought it was a beautiful campus. The ceremony took place in the Dordt College campus center and the reception took place in a white tent right behind on the campus lawn. The campus center is a room with large open windows which showcased the beautiful fall trees outside. I had tall silver metallic candlesticks down the aisle and had large floral arrangements on top of the stage. I had 2 bridesmaids who were my sister and sister in law who wore tulle latte bridesmaid dresses with an appliquéd bodice from Watters. I picked the bridesmaid dress before my wedding gown which set the color tone for our wedding. Tony’s brother and my brother in law wore black tuxes and a skinny black tie.

At the reception our theme was a Parisian garden party. My family and I had traveled to Paris the year before and I loved the romantic feel of the city. I also wanted to incorporate soft and feminine colors including rose gold, gold, and silver mixed with neutrals of taupe and blush pink. The centerpieces included glass candelabras and tall floral arrangements assorted with white roses, hydrangeas and quicksand roses. Every guest had a bell jar with macarons inside of it next to their dinner plate. Our European vacation led me to love macarons and I knew that I somehow wanted to incorporate them into my wedding. Around the tables were gold bamboo chairs and a large gold chandelier in the middle of the tent. The head table was adorned with a large bay leaf garland down the center. The chandelier in the middle of the tent brought everything together. The catered meal included a pasta and salad bar. For dessert we had a coffee and cupcake bar. Our engagement photos were taken at a coffee shop so we used these photos as décor at the coffee bar. We wanted our guests to feel like they could get up and mingle whenever they pleased and were in a casual, intimate atmosphere. We left our reception running through a lighted balloon send off. Looking in our rear view mirror we could see balloons drifting up into the sky for miles. Our wedding day went perfectly and looked exactly as I imagined it! My favorite part of the wedding was entering the reception after the ceremony and seeing the vision of the wedding I had been planning for a year come together so beautifully and was now a reality.

22 Photos Every Bride Needs of Her Wedding Dress

I joke that I will have a two-hour (minimum) photo shoot of me in my wedding dress on my big day. The only thing is, I’m not joking. If I’m going to shell out the money for a fabulous dress, I want a picture of me in it from each and every angle. Yes, this sounds slightly ridiculous, but, it’s all about the dress, and even after “I Do,” I’ll have the photos to prove it.

From the Bride… After 13 years of friendship, and both of us leaving our hometown to travel the world and explore all that it had to offer, Rob and I finally ignited the spark and starting dating. Two years later and after a lot of trials and tribulations Rob asked me to marry him and with many tears I said “Yes!”

The engagement and lead up to the wedding day is a whole other story and one that we used as a creative Save The Date pictogram – You can learn more about how we finally got to the wedding day after 15 years of knowing each other.  The graphic design work was done by a good friend Thera Colquhoun.

When deciding on a location we considered so many options, but Spain for me has always been very special, as I grew up with my father working there (we lived in England) and it was on his last trip to Spain when I was 6-years-old, that sadly he was in a car accident and passed away. Having our wedding in Spain felt like the closest I could be to having him there with us and gave our whole family a chance to view Spain as a happy place once again.

We found our perfect wedding venue when we discovered Rachel Rose Weddings. Rachel is an incredibly talented wedding planner based in Benahavis and as soon as I came across her website and the weddings she had styled, I had tears in my eyes imagining what we could create together. We viewed El Cortijo de los Caballos on a cold and rainy day in November, it was under construction so we had to use our imaginations, but I loved that it felt like an oasis when you walked in and was surrounded by cornfields and mountains. It used to be stables, which have been converted into guest rooms and a cottage with a gorgeous swimming pool, pool bar and garden in the center for everyone to congregate and hang out. I could imagine all the possibilities and we booked our date for September 12th, which was exactly a year after our engagement.

I think my style is bohemian and whimsical; I love nature, wild flowers, moss (my surname is Moss), hummingbirds, flower crowns and dancing barefoot. Whilst my Scottish husband is more traditional, loving all things Scottish, ice-cream, whiskey and cèilidh dancing.

To begin with I decided from the start that I wanted to design and create my own wedding dress and wear something that was truly unique and personal. I never tried on a single wedding dress and instead sketched out some designs of my own and worked with a local dressmaker in Dubai to help me create my vision. I have always been fascinated with hummingbirds since my time living in Panama and on many occasions I have been referred to as one, buzzing around with endless energy from place to place, so I decided I would love to have one on the back on my dress as the main focal point. I wanted the rest of the dress to be simple, but have a bohemian vibe, I also wanted a dress that wasn’t just white, but had details in color. I had chosen a pastel color palette, so I decided on pastel colored flowers on the front and back to tie it all in together. It was an endless job and took almost a year to create with fittings twice a week and endless changes as we watched the dress come together. It is the first time I have ever done anything like this and I have learned so much, I love the dress and so did everyone else, but I think if I was to do it again it could be even better!

Rob is Scottish so really wanted to wear a kilt, but as it was mid-summer in Spain he decided that it would be too hot. We decided together that we would like an informal and casual ‘rustic’ vibe and so chose linen for both him and the groomsmen. We designed a 3-piece suit in pale blue linen and had it made by a local tailor. We also bought tan color braces (suspenders) for Rob and all the boys including the pageboy Tom that looked super cute. The groomsmen were to wear beige linen trousers, white shirt, tan suspenders, and a mix of pastel colored bow ties that we had made by a tailor in Thailand.

There were so many details on the day, which you can see from the photos. I designed all the wedding stationery, we created a logo that was a combination of a hummingbird and a kilt and used this on everything.

Everything was custom made from local designers or artisans and Etsy.com was a great help! From the flower girls fairy wands and dresses, the dress hangers, all the gifts for the wedding party, the dress, the boys outfits, pretty much everything. Even down to the ring holder which was a birds nest with two little turquoise eggs on a bed of moss. It was perfect because it tied in so many of our details.

We wrote our own vows and created custom signage which Nulki Nulks our designer in Spain creatively wrote out of recycled palettes, vintage windows and other pieces of wood.

The dinner was served ‘Family Picnic Style’. We asked for long picnic tables so everyone could sit together, sharing and passing food. We didn’t want ‘fancy food’ or set courses, as I think it’s always hard to decide on these before you arrive and we wanted our guests to have lots of options to choose from and enjoy specialties from the local region. We had salads, a BBQ, seafood paella, a trio of deserts and the big hit was the ‘cheese’ cake which was rounds of cheese in a tower which the guests enjoyed for the remainder of the night. We also served midnight snacks of mini sliders and falafels.

Everyone who came to our wedding week commented that it was the best wedding they had been to. We created a week of activities to introduce people to Spain and show them some of our favorite spots so everyone also got to know each other really well. For the 30 guests staying with us at the Cortijo it was likened to an ‘Adult Summer Camp’ which none of us wanted to end!

The wedding took a full year of lots of planning and was not without it’s stresses but on the day it was all so worth it and together with the incredible team of suppliers and our Wedding Fairy Godmother Rachel we created a most wonderful, magical, whimsical lyrical wedding that will be remembered by us and everyone who came for the rest of our lives!

I’m a list person. Without them, my life (or my brain, rather) would be chaos. And that rings true especially when I’m prepping for a relaxing getaway. Because there have been far too many forgotten fashion items or “did we lock the back door?” moments for me to count. I’ve got it down to a science now and this pre-vacay check list? It’s a good one to tuck away for safe keeping. Bon voyage, beauties!

From the Bride… We had a strong idea of what we wanted the day, ambiance and décor to look like and with the help of our amazing florist, Fayaz, and team of vendors, we really hit the nail on the head! The ambiance was sexy, ethereal, warm, elegant, and just outright fun all at the same time. The décor was mostly shades of white with hints gold and blush, and tons of candlelight. We really wanted to make the space feel like an intimate dinner party, and not some big crowded room, and I felt like we were able to achieve this pretty well through our layout, and décor with 215 people.

The moment I got to see Brandon for the first time that day was so special, an intimate moment. He looked gorgeous and we were both just so happy, it was such an amazing feeling. We spent the next hour taking pictures, enjoying the venue and décor. Finally, the moment came to walk down the aisle with my parents and I was so nervous I would trip or embarrass myself. I ended up crying my eyes out a few times throughout the ceremony. I was mortified but there is nothing quite like the feeling of looking Brandon in the eyes and knowing the vows and commitments we were embarking on, I was overwhelmed with happiness. Once the ceremony was over we were ready for the fun begin and the reception did not fall short!! We danced, we laughed, and had some of the best speeches from our fathers, Maid of Honor, and Best Man. They killed it, and captured our essence and set the tone. It was the best day of my life and it all happened in a flash. I want to go back and do it all over again, it was so much FUN! I am constantly reliving it through our amazing memories, wedding videos and pictures!

They Eloped Without Sacrificing Style

Don’t you dare think that opting to elope means sacrificing elegance and style. Especially when we’re talking about a couple as cute as this. Jin and Xiaxue headed to San Francisco City Hall with a handful of family and friends and Kurt Boomer was on hand to photograph. More fun this way in The Vault!

From Kurt BoomerI really loved this simple and sweet elopement in San Francisco. For Jin and Xiaxue as well as their family, this became a destination event. They chose San Francisco for that amazing winter weather and it didn’t disappoint.

The ceremony took place at one of, if not the most gorgeous city hall. The architecture is absolutely exquisite. We then drove around the city. First spot was the Palace of Fine Arts. Again, a display of some of the most amazing architecture that just doesn’t exist in many places in California. We finished the evening at the Presidio. It was a beautiful scene with the sun fading behind the Golden Gate Bridge.

Rose Quartz and Serenity take this Twin Shower to Next Level Pretty

I probably wouldn’t have known this was a baby shower, had the ladies of Decoration Inc. not spilled the beans. It’s all very gorgeous, adult dinner-esque but with subtle nods to boy/girl twins on the way. That theme of duo is woven throughout from the rose quartz and serenity color palette, to the boy and girl silhouettes and even the menu is getting in on the action. Have a look at more of this stunning party captured by Kate Osborne Photo in the VAULT.

From Decoration Inc… This “duo” themed baby shower features the Pantone colors of the year….serenity and rose quartz. I designed a dinner to shower my friends who are expecting boy and girl twins. We wanted to keep the “duo” theme subtle and adult.

We did this a few ways. First, we limited the color palette to 2 colors…..rose quartz and serenity. This was brought into the silhouette name cards…The little boy and girl silhouette cards for the coming twins.

Guest names were calligraphed. Flowers were also limited to pinks and whites while the taper candles brought in the blue.

The menu was also designed with a duo theme in mind. Each course had an element that was prepared in 2 ways. Such as fresh and pickled carrot for the salad. Chef Tom even added true “baby” carrots to garnish.

Proof a Winery Wedding Doesn’t Have to Be Rustic

Winery weddings tend incorporate rustic touches, so this modern take on a winery wedding is a breath of fresh air. From the reclaimed wood chevron ceremony backdrop (that we want to display as a work of art in our homes) to the clean, simple reception décor to the gorgeous Beacon Lane stationery, this day is as pretty as they come. See it all from Tim Coulson in The Vault!

From The Bride…Andrew and I met working at the casino in Sydney. Andrew worked in IT and I was his boss’ assistant. When we first started dating, we kept things quiet to try and keep the office gossip to a minimum. When things were going nowhere fast, I decided to go and do some traveling…and as fate would have it after 6 months, I was contacted by the casino and asked to come back to work on a project. I moved back to Sydney and we picked up where we left off. Within our first year we’d done passed all the major tests for a new relationship – moving in together, moving interstate, changing jobs. It was all so natural and right – we both knew we’d found the one.

Andrew proposed while we were visiting family in Cairns and I had no idea it was coming. We’d spoken about it previously but I didn’t expect it right at that moment! Andrew kept asking me to go for walks on the beach while we were there and I kept inviting the whole family along. Eventually, we went out to breakfast together and we were standing on Trinity Beach on a beautiful morning. I was taking a photo and turned back around to find Andrew on one knee – I thought he’d fallen over! We were both so excited we couldn’t eat breakfast and remained giddy for the rest of the week.

Both of our families know how to throw a good party and we wanted to capture that for our day. We wanted it to feel like a relaxed, family gathering at home. We both love food and wine, so that was always going to be a focus for our day.

We wanted to have our ceremony and reception at the same place as we wanted to keep the party flowing while we had photos. Terindah Estate has beautiful views overlooking the You Yangs and back towards Melbourne, as well as amazing vines and access to the waterfront. The venue ticked all of our boxes – coastal, country and winery.

We decided on a small guest list as we wanted an intimate wedding that focused on the people who mean the most to us. We wanted to be able to get around and speak to all of our guests while still being able to enjoy the day. Andrew and I both had an amazing day and felt so relaxed.

In terms of styling, we wanted to focus on the backdrop for the ceremony. We had wine barrels for all the important things like programs, but the rest was simple. Terindah Estate provided the chairs, which suited our overall style perfectly.

We wanted our guests to be relaxed, so they were offered a drink on arrival before the ceremony.

When I arrived on the day, it was raining and we almost had to move the ceremony to the balcony, which would mean no backdrop at all. Thankfully Andrew made the call to stay where we were, and just as I got out of the car it stopped raining. I’m so thankful we didn’t have to move it!

My Dad and I got so excited walking down to the ceremony that we went the wrong way and missed the aisle! After some whispered comments from the bridal party, we got back on track and made it down the right way (after some giggles!)

For the reception, we really wanted the room to speak for itself at Terindah Estate. We chose the restaurant section as it had such a fantastic feel to it – rustic and full of character.

We opted to have bare tables with a scattering of table arrangements and table numbers from Better Off Wed. We had menus, place cards and a seating plan printed by Beacon Lane and I spent the days before the wedding folding napkins and tying them up with the place cards.

I found a vintage key cabinet on eBay and as I’ve always collected old keys but didn’t know what to do with them, we decided they would be our guestbook. We asked our guests to leave their key to a happy marriage on a tag attached to a key and plan to hang the cabinet in our home. We loved reading the keys when we got back from our honeymoon.

The food at Terindah Estate blew us away. We worked with them to have an Oyster Bar for our guests while we went to go have our photos taken…which unfortunately meant we missed out on it! We wanted to make sure there was plenty of food, so we opted for canapés and a shared menu. We wanted to create a family feast type vibe. It was so special to share our first meal together as husband and wife with our friends and family, just as we would at our own table.

I came up with lots of different ideas for favours – but none that Andrew liked! He wanted something that was going to be useful, and so when I talked about hangover kits it was a winner. I spent hours making them, from carving the stamp for the bags myself to putting them all together. It was worth it in the end, and I absolutely loved how they looked. They ended up being a lifesaver for more than a couple of our guests (including us!)

We put together welcome bags for our guests with local olive oil, sourdough and homemade dukkah, which were a big hit both before and after the wedding.

I wore three rings from family members on my bouquet. I had my great grandmother’s wedding ring, my aunt’s engagement ring and Andrew’s grandmother’s engagement ring. I also had a penny from my best friend that she wore on her wedding day, which was given to her by her grandmother. I loved being surrounded by such precious treasures.

This Couple’s Surprise Entrance Wins the Award for Best in Show

This wedding planned by Cortney Helaine wins the award for best reception ever. For starters? The couple rode in on a horse. Oh, and they also arranged for a jumping show during the reception. I mean, I’m not judge, but that’s ribbon worthy. From the ethereal ceremony underneath a 100-year-old oak tree, to the floral covered fountains, this gallery is as good as gold. See it all captured by Jenna Bechtholt in The Vault

From Cortney HelaineJack and Julie’s wedding was filled with friends and family from all across the globe. Jack’s parents being Korean, Julie born a Southern California girl, but both living in New York City created a guest list from around the globe.

The planning process was speedy but it was no problem for Julie as she knew the wedding she had been dreaming of since a girl. With a monochromatic all white color scheme with bits of greenery, Julie imagined an etherial ceremony underneath 100 year old oak trees, which she found at Giracci Vineyard and Farm. As guests arrived they were greeted by the valet and passed a fountain covered with large white floral clusters that cascaded down the fountain allowing the water to trickle over them.

Guests were escorted to their seats beneath the giant oak trees and a family friend began to serenade the bridal party as the walked down the aisle. Julie walked arm in arm with her father together down the aisle, a moment they had both waited their whole lives for. Jack’s smile could be seen from across the farm as small tears fell from Julie’s mother in joy. The couple stood underneath 5 hanging chandeliers with florals tucked into them and a beautiful pink and light blue fabric back drop with ivory lace.

Throughout the ceremony, the couple had laughter, tears and an overall element of joy surrounding them as their pastor, from their church in New York, explained the meanings and celebration of marriage.

As the bridal party departed to a nearby meadow, the guests were invited to the barn for cocktails but this is no ordinary barn. It is a refurbished barn turned event center with red wood paneled walls and white shutters. Guests lounged on the furniture while surrounded by dropped organza. A menu of mini lobster rolls, sugar cane skewered tiger shrimp and a seared scallop made guests mouths watered as the walked by.

To help bring the families together and give them something to universally enjoy, a horse jumping show was arranged. Riders in their full dress uniforms proceeded to enter the ring and give guests a show. While guests watched the horses and jumpers preform children were able to walk up and pet a beautiful brown horse on the sidelines and speak to a trainer about what the average training day looks like. Julie even made an appearance towards the end of the cocktail hour on a horse named Oh-la-la to show off he beautiful train and riding skills.

As guests were invited to their seats by shine entertainment, they entered Julie’s favorite part in the planning process, her customized reception space. Complete with a hanging cake, adffogato station, vintage chandeliers, market lights, crystal and glass candelabras, as well an additional 4 tier wedding cake atop the vintage wishing well.

Their night proceeded with a duel entree of seabags and filet provided by 24 Carrots catering and then onto toasts and dancing through the night. Guests loved the blow up photo booth as well as homemade sweet treats provided by the family and friends of the bride. Everything was finished off with a fabulous toast to the bride and groom and loving words from both sets of parents as the guests departed.

From The Bride…Jack and I met through a mutual friend. Having just recently moved to New York from California, I was excited to meet new people, and the group of us became friends. About a year after meeting, I heard from our mutual friends that Jack was interested. I had no interest at that time and saw him only as a friend. After my good friend kept telling me what a good guy he was and encouraging me to give him a chance, we went on two awkward dates. I called him afterwards and told him that I was “too busy to date”. He responded so graciously that after we hung up, I was actually more interested in him. After another month went by, our friends told us that we needed to talk to one another, and after sharing our mutual feelings, we giddily began dating.

About a month before he proposed, Jack flew to California to get my parents’ blessing. He knew that I wanted my family and best friends around when he proposed to me, so it all happened during a trip to California. We went to look at wedding venues, and on Saturday morning, we decided on the venue. I noted the irony that we had put the deposit down when I wasn’t technically engaged yet. Afterwards, my best friends took me to eat and then to Crystal Cove. I began to get a sense of what was happening, but even though I had an idea, I still cried so much after seeing Jack. He showed me a scrapbook that he had made. It had pictures and mementos from when we first started dating- he had even saved the ticket to our first date at Cirque du Soleil! I was so touched that such a non-crafty guy took the time to make a scrapbook. He also collected letters and videos from my friends, and at the end of it, had written a letter to me. After reading it, he got on one knee and proposed. I cried throughout the whole thing, and said yes immediately!

Having become obsessed with Style Me Pretty in college, I had a good sense of what I wanted for my wedding. We had a 4 month engagement, so I had a lot of work to do. I went through all of the vendors on SMP’s Little Black Book, but because it was a short engagement, many were understandably unavailable. Through countless searches and with the help of my amazing coordinator Cortney, I found the best vendors. We wanted our guests to enjoy the day at our gorgeous outdoor venue! A quartet and guitarist, horse show, photo booth, mini lobster rolls, home-made desserts, hanging cake, market lights, candelabras, selfie-sticks, dreamy florals, the list goes on! We cannot thank our vendors enough, to name a few- Little Hill Floral Designs adorned the venue with the prettiest florals, 24 Carrots catering cooked up and served the best food, Signature Party rentals put together an amazing set up, Shine Entertainment kept the guests laughing, Jenna Bechtholt photography and Sherman Film Productions captured the day beautifully, and of course, Cortney coordinated the whole day seamlessly!

We flew our pastor from New York to officiate our wedding, which was so special to us. Jack and I could not stop crying happy tears throughout the ceremony. More than anything, we wanted all our guests to hear the gospel, the only message that gives us eternal hope and joy. That Holy God, would look upon sinners like you and me, and in love, send His only Son, Jesus Christ, fully God and fully man to live a perfect sinless life that we could never live, die on the cross, and resurrect three days later so that anyone who believes in Him, repents and trusts Jesus as Lord and Savior, would have eternal life. Jack and my greatest desire was that people would hear this and believe, and share in the joy that we have. We had so much fun and truly savored each moment, it was a day we will cherish forever!

10 Books that Blow Reality Television Out of the Water

I am the first to admit that I have a slight addiction to all things Bravo and maybe this one random show on the History Channel called Alone. No but seriously, have you watched that show? So good. If there is one thing that can pull me away from the lure of a major boob tube sess, it’s a great book. I’m constantly hitting up my SMP ladies for their current faves and they never disappoint. Have a look at 10 books that blow any and all reality television straight out of the water.

Floral Crowns and French Lace, Witness the Ultimate Marrakesh Celebration

If you needed another reason to visit Morocco, this wedding is it. Complete with stunning Marrakech architecture, this celebration is decadently dreamy and thanks to Catherine Mead we’ve got Tommaso and Federica’s day to share. An intimate celebration with 60 of their nearest and dearest (and an unexpected guest!), this is one gallery that you won’t want to miss. See it all in The Vault!

From Catherine MeadTommaso and Federica met seven years ago at her future bridesmaid’s birthday party in Milan. The Italian couple, who live in Dubai, travelled on their first weekend getaway together to Marrakech and quickly fell in love with the city.

After six years together, Tommaso proposed to Federica on her 30th birthday at a Moroccan restaurant in London, in honour of their very first weekend away together to Marrakech. When it came to planning their destination wedding, there was only one city for them!

Federica and Tommaso were joined by 60 of their closest family and friends in Marrakech. They welcomed guests with cocktails around the pool at Riad El Fenn, before getting married the following day, Valentine’s Day, at the Church of Marrakech. Tommaso’s favourite moment from the wedding was watching Federica walk down the aisle with his nephew to the sound of a gospel choir singing Ave Maria.

After the ceremony, guests were greeted at decadent La Mamounia hotel with canapés and rosé champagne. Within the Morrocan tent, inspired by French romance, Marie Antoinette and Moroccan tones, they created an intimate ambience with warm red, orange and pink tones, infused with candlelight.

As a fashion PR, Federica knew the perfect gown for her, pairing a French lace gown by Luisa Beccaria with vibrant yellow Manolos for the wedding, followed by an Alice & Olivia evening dress for dancing. Her lovely mother wore matching Manolo flats in orange to match Federica’s!

Wanting a relaxed, informal wedding, there was no First Dance, but as soon as the musicians started playing, everyone was on their feet!

See It Here First: Nikki Ferrell from The Bachelor Engagement Session

Nikki Ferrell captured America’s hearts way back when she won The Bachelor, but now this leading lady has taken her love life offscreen and to the open fields and the results? Unreal. From her beautifully blush ballgown, to their sweet newly engaged kisses, we’ve got an exclusive peek on her e-sesh AND a fun Q&A from the starlet below + see even more from Alea Lovely in The Vault!

From Bride-to-be, Nikki Ferrell… So my fiance Tyler and I have been friends for over 5 years. We have dated in the past but we couldn’t seem to really get the timing right until about a year ago. He’s been my best friend for so long and looking back I think I always knew he would be the one. In January we were in Pagosa Springs, CO over New Years. My family has a vacation home there and we decided to go on a little snowboard getaway. I sort of expected him to propose on the trip, I mean we had been talking about it for several months. We were there for five days and each day I thought he would ask me but nope he didn’t. I had even been putting eyeliner on to go snowboarding just in case! At one point we were snowshoeing through the most beautiful snowy scenery I’d ever seen and I turned around and he was on one knee, I thought OMG it’s happening. Well much to my surprise he was just hungry and reaching for his beef jerky snack! Haha. On the last morning we were there my Dad said we were going to get breakfast at a little place in town. I had a couple too many margaritas the night before and was moving a little slow. I didn’t want to change my clothes so I decided to wear my sweatpants and a beanie. I should have known something was up when my Dad told me to change my clothes. I think my response was “They’re not giving out prizes for best dressed this morning Dad, I’m wearing this” When we got into town Tyler said he wanted to take a picture by the river. The steam for the hot springs rises up and frosts all the trees in the morning, it’s really beautiful. He had been talking about it all week so I didn’t think anything of it. We walked down there and he was trying to find the perfect spot. I actually think I was complaining most of the way. Haha. Then I turned around and he was down on one knee for real this time! Honestly I don’t remember what he said, I was squealing and so excited! My parents got pictures of it which was so great. And the fact I was in my pajamas with a beanie and wedge sneakers is pretty funny. Looking back it was perfect, not something over the top and corny, and in one of our favorite places to spend time together.

So let me explain a little bit of my personality to you before I answer the wedding planning question….I am NOT a planner. Haha. I am the worlds biggest procrastinator and I find it difficult to even text people back, let alone email all of the vendors and set up appointments (appointments that I’m always 15 min late to). I am thankful that I have found the most amazing planner Madison Sanders. She has been nothing short of a God send when it comes to planning this wedding! I definitely want something romantic and soft for my big day. I like neutrals such as blushes and metallics. I want to look back on my wedding day 20 years from now and still see something classy and timeless that I love. Basically I just want to dream it all up and hand it over to Madison to execute it, just tell me when and where to show up!

The best part of the wedding planning so far has hands down been our engagement shoot with Alea Lovely. I actually planned my wedding date around her availability. I met Alea several years ago when she shot a local wedding campaign I modeled for. I not only loved her personality and energy, I also loved her work. There was something about the pictures that were just magical, so soft and she captured an emotion with just a single image. I knew right then that I would have her shoot my real wedding some day. Well now that day has come! I think I have looked at our engagement photos 200 times in the past week. There are so many good ones I can’t imagine how I’m going to pick favorites. My favorite part about them is that Alea did such an amazing job capturing Tyler and I’s personalities in our relationship.

I think the most important thing to Tyler and me is staying true to who we are. We want people to look around our wedding day and be like “This is so THEM” We just want to create a beautiful and fun day not only for us but for our guests also. This day is a refection of the beginning of the rest of our lives together and we feel so blessed to be able to share it with all our family and friends under one roof.

The Fresh + Dewy Makeup Look Every It Girl Swears By

Fresh dewy makeup, flushed cheeks and defined brows. Sound too good to be true? This staple “it” girl look à la Gigi and Beyoncé has never been easier. Whether you’re headed to a spring wedding or simply want to add a dose of glow to your everyday look, this tutorial by bonafide beauty expert Mariah Nicole is your ticket. Follow step-by-step straight from the lens of Jessica Czarnecki (and get ready to steal the spotlight!)

APPLY FOUNDATION: Begin by applying your skincare, makeup primer, foundation and concealer.

HIGHLIGHT CHEEKBONES: Apply a liquid highlighter to your cheekbone. You can use a pink, champagne or golden color to match your complexion or makeup look. Lauren is wearing a cool-pink shade. Blend the highlighter with a brush or dampened beauty blender.

DEFINE BROWS: Fill in brows with a powder and set with wax or gel.

APPLY BLUSH: Apply a cream blush in a pink or coral shade, to match your lipstick color.

APPLY EYESHADOW: Apply a shimmery champagne cream waterproof shadow to the eyelid up to the crease. Then apply a matte cream shadow that matches your skin tone to the area between her crease and brow.

BLEND SHADOW: Next, apply a neutral matte brown eyeshadow to the crease and outer corner. Makes sure the shadow doesn’t extend past the brows and doesn’t fall below the outer corner. Then blend the edges.

DEFINE EYES: Apply a dark brown eye pencil along the upper lashes, slightly extend but don’t make it a cat eye. Then use a brush to soften the edges.  Apply along the bottom lashes, making it soft and feathered using the brush. Curl eyelashes and apply black mascara.

TOUCH UP FACE MAKEUP: Apply any additional concealer under your eyes, desired bronzer,  highlighting powder and finally translucent powder to your face.

APPLY LIP COLOR: For this look to pop you have to use a bright, glossy pink or coral lipstick/gloss. The color should not be too cool, neutral to warm works best. Once applied, finish the look with a water resistant setting spray (optional.)

Flamenco Flair Steals the Show at this Southern California Wedding

For this gorgeous Bride, her romantic wedding vision included a venue with Spanish flair, and where better to find that than southern California? With the help of A Signature Wedding, her vision came to life in a beautiful color palette of ivory, blush and merlot. See all the pretty captured by Mark Brooke Photography and ScenEmotion Films in The Vault!

From A Signature WeddingNaz and Johana met in the fall of 2004 at La Sierra University, while both pursuing their undergraduate nursing degrees. Naz recalls the first time he saw Johana, as she walked late into their Anatomy and Physiology class. He will never forget her matching Ugg boots, Ugg sweater and Ugg purse! Johana recalls Naz’s friendly smile and thick mustache. Their friendship ignited while studying in the Anatomy lab.

For the next eight years, their friendship became stronger and stronger as they supported each other though the good times and bad. The more time they spent together, the more they realized they shared a special and deeper connection than just classmates or friends. Everyone could see the chemisty they shared. Naz adored Johana. And she looked up to him.

After spending much time together, they decided to take their friendship to the next level. Naz planned a Valentine’s celebration with a dinner and show in Orange County. Little did Johana know that he invited some of their closest friends to share that evening with them. He did this because that would be the night he officially made Johana his girlfriend.

Naz’s creative planning continued when he was ready to ask Johana to be his wife. Naz planned to surprise Johana and propose to her at his graduation party; Johana thought she was planning the graduation party. Lots of planning and details in between led to the special graduation night. They were at the Riverside Art Museum in Riverside, California. Naz devised a plan to get Johana to the rooftop. Johana thought she was giving a surprise to Naz on the rooftop- a celebrity- Walt Jr. (RJ Mitte) from Breaking Bad. A lot of planning, fake emails, and fake texts went into her believing this. On her way up the elevator to “meet with Walt Jr.,” she was saying how excited she was to take selfies with him. Sadly to say, he wasn’t there.

She got off the elevator and found a red carpet that led to Naz. She was confused. Was this part of the surprise? Where was Walt Jr.? She didn’t know. And then it kicked in. She walked up and kept interrupting Naz, saying, “Don’t mess with me…don’t mess with me!..”, which became viral amongst the party goers, who were downstairs watching a live streaming of the proposal. Everyone saw Naz get down on his knee, and ask Johana to marry him….she said yes!

When Johana and Naz were deciding on a venue, they wanted it to provide features that were important to both of them. Being Latina, Johana envisioned a location that offered a Spanish flair, and that would accommodate her romantic wedding vision. Naz envisioned a large wedding with all of his family and friends, and didn’t want to have to cut down his guest list. Having been a groomsman for many of his friend’s weddings, he wanted to reciprocate and have 13 groomsmen! They both wanted a place they could party until late into the evening. Serra Plaza was the perfect fit! The Spanish fountain provided a beautiful focal point for their ceremony, filled with beautiful florals, offering a romantic backdrop. Their neutral color palette of ivories, blushes and a splash of merlot, complemented the venue. They had three different centerpieces, filling the courtyard with a cohesive, yet unique look. They enjoyed a cultural cuisine of Middle Eastern and Mexican fare. And they danced the night away to an array of genres including Spanish and Middle Eastern music, a tribute to their heritages. To end the night, their late night cravings were satisfied with a visit from the In and Out Truck! Truly a signature wedding!
