Fall Vineyard Wedding at Basel Cellars Estate Winery in Walla Walla

Raise your hand if you’re planning a fall wedding?! This one is for you babes. A mauve and burgundy palette sits atop the fresh green backdrop of Basel Cellars Estate Winery for an autumn affair like no other. With coordination and floral design by Kasey D Weddings, this Bride’s vision was executed to perfection. See the day unfold in the full collection of images by Shelly K Photography and in the film by RP Imagery.

What did you envision your wedding being prior to planning?

I envisioned an outdoor Fall wedding, surrounded by our closest friends and family. Fall has always been my favorite season – there is a crispness to the air, but often times, it is accompanied with the most beautiful of clear and sunny days. The colors of the trees are gorgeous, and it brings this sense of warmth and coziness to everything. I knew that when the time came, I would ask my future hubby if he was onboard for a Fall wedding, too… and lucky for me, he was! I wanted our wedding to be embraced by all of the beauty and warmth that is ‘Fall’.

What was your color palette and your style vision?

For a color palette, I envisioned everything clean and neutral, while still incorporating some beautiful, rich colors of Fall. Lots of greenery, white, blush and nude tones, along with mixed metals and tons of gold accent pieces. For the flowers and bridesmaid dresses, I wanted to do something a little richer in color. This is where I incorporated colors such as dusty rose and a deep burgundy.

What was your favorite moment?

There were so many favorite moments, but if I were to pick just a few, these would be my top three. Getting ready with my mom, mother-in-law, and best friends will forever go down in history as a favorite memory. I feared that I would be too nervous that morning, to take in all the special moments around me, but I was pleasantly surprised. I had the best time chatting, laughing and sharing in happy tears with my favorite women by my side. I also loved my ‘first look’ with my dad; it was one of those once-in-a-lifetime moments that you always look forward to and will forever cherish. And lastly, but certainly not least, I loved the moment I walked down the aisle to my future husband. There is nothing in the world like having your dad wrap his arm around you as you walk towards the man of your dreams. I will never forget how overwhelmed with joy I was in that moment, and just how lucky I felt to have the best men in my life.

Your favorite crafted detail?

My mom created the most beautiful gifts for me, that followed the “something new, something blue & something borrowed” theme, and they were hands down some of the most thoughtful pieces to my wedding.

‘Something New’- My parents surprised me with a beautiful diamond bracelet, a piece I will always wear and cherish.

‘Something Blue’- my husband loved his high school football days, and in honor of that, my mom got her hands on a football from his high school and had it signed by one of the players who went on to play D1 college ball. She then created a beautiful garter for me to wear, laced with blue ribbon, that would later be stretched around the football and tossed into the crowd of single men. It was such a cute idea!

‘Something Borrowed’- my mom created the most gorgeous ring bearer pillow out of lace from her wedding dress. I loved that a piece of my mom & dad’s wedding day was incorporated into our big day, it was so special.

Tell us about your flowers, your gown, your favors, your cake, etc.

I had the absolute best wedding planner! Her eye for detail is unmatched, and she worked so diligently to create everything I had ever envisioned and more. The florals were all created by her, too, and we worked to incorporate fresh flowers just about everywhere we could think of! I loved how organic, yet elegant everything felt. Twinkle lights dropped down from all of the trees, and it felt so cozy and intimate throughout dinner and toasts. It was truly magical, and I felt as though I was walking around in a beautiful garden.

I also enjoyed creating fun little details, to add to the ambiance. One of my favorite items was a lounge area with soft seating, complete with a beautiful draped backdrop, laced in greenery and roses. People could enjoy a glass of wine, sit and mingle with each other, and I loved that.

When it came to my dress, I always envisioned something timeless in shape and style. I enjoyed it’s silhouette shape, with v-neckline, and just the right touch of lace. I felt as though it had personality and simple beauty, but remained a good balance of modern and classic. I embellished with gold jewelry & shoes, which is one of my favorite accent colors.

What is one piece of advice that you could give brides-to-be?

Take it all in, and don’t sweat the small stuff. This can sometimes be easier said than done, but the reality is, you only get to do this day once. When it comes to planning out all of the little details, and designing your dream day, enjoy it. But let those details and hours of planning fit within the weeks and months leading up to your big day. When it comes time for your wedding weekend, or those few days leading up to the big day, be sure to refocus. You are getting married, and the people and memories that will surround you on that special day are irreplaceable. For us, we loved getting married in eastern Washington because it was just far enough to create the ‘destination’ feel, with only being a 4-5 hour drive. There is something about packing your bag, getting in the car, and driving away from the planning and checklists. It allows you to stop, breathe and take it all in.

An Ethereal Spring Wedding at Sonoma Vineyard Estate

They say when you plan a wedding, it is a labor of love – a true mix of work and pleasure. But when the bride is a professional calligrapher and handmakes a good portion of her wedding day details, including the 6-foot tall seating chart, now that is the definition of a labor of love! With a mix of romantic and modern details, Madix & Co brought the couple’s vision to life with the help of beautiful floral arrangements created by Amanda Vidmar Design. This bride and groom’s love for each other will certainly make you swoon (just read their proposal story, I may have shed a tear or two) and Kayla F Photography was there to capture every special moment!

From the Bride…What did you envision your wedding being prior to planning? We both wanted a wedding that felt intimate with our closest loved ones, and most importantly a party that no one would forget in a beautiful setting. Ryan’s theme for our wedding was “fun”, which made for some hilarious planning conversations. My vision was to be outdoors with gorgeous views, which made wine country the perfect place to tie the knot. I wanted to feel like we were in a modern ethereal space, which Madix & Co brought to life with our florist, Amanda Vidmar Designs. Seeing everything come together on that day was truly magical and the definition of unforgettable.

What was your color palette and your style vision? Our color palette was mostly neutrals with a lot of white, cream, and to bring in some color, we had soft peaches and pinks throughout our florals and rentals. All of the decor elements complemented this natural foliage with white, gray, blush, and a touch of black. The style vision for the wedding was light, romantic, and refined, with modern design elements like acrylic reflected in the stationery and signage.

What unique elements or DIY details did you include? Being a professional calligrapher myself, I was thrilled to work on my own wedding! At the same time, I was excited to bring in my favorite vendors who have become close friends over the years of being in the industry. I trusted them implicitly with our wedding vision, which took a lot of thought out of what elements I wanted to do myself versus have someone else create. I stuck to my expertise and created all of the stationery for our big day including a Welcome Sign using an acrylic stand filled with one of Amanda’s gorgeous floral arrangements, ceremony programs, a large acrylic seating chart display, menus with vellum, and place cards. The other piece I created that was a true labor of love was our huge 6′ tall seating chart. Kaella helped me polish my idea for a black metal frame with 3 clear acrylic hanging panels that had all of our guests’ names and tables printed on it in gray and white. I created the frame myself behind our apartment building, constructing and painting it. Kaella and I assembled it at the wedding venue the day before, and Amanda added Lunaria to it, which was the perfect touch to this focal point for our guests. The seating chart was the exact combination of romantic and modern, which was everything I wanted it to be.

The Dress: For many years, I have followed the design work of Sarah Seven. When we got engaged, I just knew I was going to end up there and I was going to find my dress. I gave other boutiques and designers a chance, but in the end, I had one appointment at Sarah Seven and fell in love. My wedding dress combined a tulle skirt with lots of movement from one design, and a deep sweetheart corset bodice made of lace from another. It truly was my style, having a sexier element like the deep neckline paired with a fun and flirty tulle skirt that I could twirl in all night.

What was your favorite moment? My favorite intimate moment was our toasts and first dance. Ryan and I have been together on and off for the better part of 10 years, so our wedding held a lot of meaning not only for us but for our families who have witnessed our relationship grow over the last decade. Hearing my dad give a speech filled with his pride for me, and joy in having Ryan as a son-in-law made my heart full. My sister and Ryan’s two brothers have been there from the beginning and their speeches, both sentimental and funny respectively, were lovely to hear. Our first dance song was the song that Ryan proposed to me with, and has held a special place in our hearts since college. At that point, I didn’t think I had more tears in me, but I was wrong! Our first dance felt like it was simply the two of us in a room, and a culmination of many years spent growing our love and lives together.

The Flowers: We knew having Amanda Vidmar work her floral magic for our wedding was going to be easy and stress-free. We communicated our overall feel and aesthetic vision to her, and let her run with it. The unbelievable implied arch she created for our ceremony backdrop (and later our dessert bar!) was one of my favorite pieces. The arrangements in our reception created such organic movement throughout the tables, our guests could not stop complimenting them. The finishing touches of Lunaria on our cake and seating chart brought that modern and delicate feel we were wanting, and the foliage Amanda hung from the ceiling lights turned the barn into a stunning indoor/outdoor space.

The Dessert: Jennifer of Honeycomb Desserts made our carrot cake wedding cake that was all white, featuring a pale peach sail and sprigs of Lunaria. She also created our dessert bar filled with mini cheesecakes, mini key lime pies, strawberry shortcake, and my favorite, chocolate cream puffs. Our guests could not stop telling us how much they enjoyed the desserts, and we had nothing left at the of the night!

The Music: Cultivating an atmosphere in which our guests would want nothing more than to dance and enjoy the reception after dinner and toasts was a top priority for us. DJ Truthlive executed that perfectly, and then some. We were beyond impressed with his ability to seamlessly integrate music into every setting throughout the day. He certainly turned up the dance floor vibe later in the night, and no one wanted to stop dancing when it was time for the wedding to end.

Tell us how you met and became engaged: Ryan and I met in 2007 when we were sophomores at Duke while he was studying with a mutual friend in my dorm’s common room. I came downstairs to print a paper and noticed him right away. I thought he was extremely cute, so I went over and introduced myself and chatted with my friend for a bit. After that, Ryan invited me to a community service event his fraternity was doing and a couple of parties they threw before the winter holiday break. When talked over break and it was clear we liked each other, so when we returned to campus, we began dating. When we graduated in 2010, Ryan moved to California for his first job and I stayed in Virginia for mine. We didn’t see each other often and realized how much we actually missed one another, so in 2012 I finally moved to San Francisco. We moved in together with another couple we are friends with (typical SF set up to afford rent) in 2014 and when they left for Boston in 2016, we got our own place. That year, our 9 year anniversary of when we met was approaching in November, so I asked Ryan if he wanted to celebrate by going to a nice dinner. He said that sounded great, and let me plan our anniversary dinner. My parents were in town so they knew we would be out for that, and that we would come back afterward to spend time before they left the next day. At dinner, Ryan was completely normal so I had no clue he was hiding a little ring in his pocket. Plus, I had made the dinner reservation so I was really clueless! When we were close to finishing, Ryan said he had written me something special for our anniversary since he never does sappy things like that, and he wanted to go to Alamo Square near our apartment so I would have a beautiful setting to read his card he made me. I had no idea he had planned this proposal and thought it was just sweet of him to take the effort to write me an anniversary card. We got a ride to Alamo Square, but it was under construction at the time, so we walked up near the stone fountain where the fence dipped in enough for us to stand and take in the gorgeous Painted Ladies against downtown SF. He took out his phone and had me put in earphones (a throwback to our first Valentine’s Day in 2007 when he had me listen to a song while reading his card), and then handed me a bound book titled “All My Lovin’: A Memoir”. As the sun set behind us, I read this book Ryan had written detailing the journey of our love. When I finished that part, it transitioned into all of the things Ryan loves about me and he switched the song to a cover of “All My Lovin'” by the Well Pennies. He wrote about how he loves my ambition, and adventurous spirit, and I got a little choked up when he wrote: “I love that we dream about our future together.” The book ended with “But there is still one thing I haven’t done yet. So, today, nine years from the day we met, there is really only one question…” and then a blank page. I took the headphones out and turned to Ryan confused, and he was standing next to me holding a ring. After crying uncontrollably and saying repeatedly, “Are you joking? Is this a joke?”, I gave him enough space to get down on one knee and ask me to marry him. I said yes, we tried to take blurry photos in the dark to commemorate the event, and we walked home to see my parents (who knew about the proposal). Then we drove to our friends’ apartment where all of our closest friends had gathered to celebrate. It was truly the perfect day.

An Elegant Marble and Rose Gold Wedding at Soori Bali

Today’s beautiful bride and her amazing planner, Call Me Madame, blended two of our favorite trends to create the most magical affair at Soori Bali. Throughout this gorgeous day, you will find elegant elements of marble woven into the design and fun pops of rose gold at every turn. Paper Diamonds created lush floral arrangements that complimented the breathtaking scenery while also adding a little dose of drama! Take in the views and watch this stunning Bali wedding day unfold at the full gallery, all captured by Rory Wylie.

From the bride… I took a deep breath, cradled my dad’s arm and we walked together slowly up the stone path towards the helipad. I looked down at the beautiful pink anemones (all the way from Japan!) nested in my exquisite bouquet by Paper Diamonds and I was in a trance. As we drifted to the ceremony, I scanned familiar faces set against the romantic layout in front of me, backdropped by the waves crashing on the cliff top, and then I saw Mark – my soon to be husband, I held back a tear. We had visited Bali two years before and fell in love with the dramatic cliff tops, sounds of nature and the wonderful Balinese food. We had no doubt when we got engaged that we wanted to invite our friends and family to our favourite place in the world to celebrate our special day.

We chose the Soori for its unique black sand beaches, impeccable service and conservationist ethos. The resort’s owner-architect has married clean modern architecture with local rice fields and a striking coastline seamlessly to create a sanctuary, backdropped by Bali’s famous mountains. We exchanged vows before dancing down the aisle as our charming photographer Rory Wylie snapped it all! She was up for anything and worked tirelessly to capture our memories – we are so grateful for her efforts and good spirits! When we first met with our planner, Alice Dentan from Call Me Madame I painted a vision of an elegant marble and rose gold theme, with a touch of drama.

Mademoiselle Dentan certainly hit the nail on the head which magical touches of her signature French style, and her little black book did not disappoint – we were thrilled with the partners she recommended. Our jaws dropped at sunset when we arrived at our reception marquee which had taken four days to set up! It was a magnificent [25 foot tall] structure draped in soft white fabrics, long tables lined with cool stone crockery sat on rose gold chargers, crystal cut water tumblers and rose gold rimmed wine glasses. Each guest was gifted a personalized hexagonal marble name tile, elegantly penned by Pi CalligraphySpeeches weaved throughout courses and as night fell our guests were ushered outside for a spectacular firework display, after cutting our four tier marble monogrammed cake, we danced our first dance… The next day, all I could think was “can we do this every year?”- I’ve yet to run this by my new husband, but as they say, a happy wife is a happy life!

Nantucket Meets California In This Family Beach Retreat

Surfer vibes were the goal when refreshing this family’s Nantucket summer getaway, and that’s where Sasha Meredith Designs came in! The designers removed the old 1990’s interiors to make way for neutral tones, shiplap, and cool pops of art to really drive that surfer feel home. The home now is a great reflection of the area around it and a perfect summer escape. We are so ready to spend our summers here!

THE ENTRYWAY

The entry hall had a dated stairway, we replaced the bannister, painted the stairs, wallpapered the stairway, added some shiplap and painted the room in a bright white. New furniture completed this space and the transformation was complete, the house instantly had a welcoming and contemporary yet laid back entry hall. The client is one of three sisters, so she loved the mermaid art we found, which has three mermaids sitting together, referencing her sisters and their shared love of the beach in Nantucket.

THE DINING ROOM

The dining room was a smaller space and had been formerly filled with heavy french country furniture. We kept it neutral with lots of wood pieces in this room but added a fun punch of navy through the Serena & Lily dining chairs and Rejuvenation pendants hanging above the table. Art from local photographer Nathan Coe and an oversized mirror completed this room that was functional enough for formal dining while comfortable enough for everyday use.

THE LIVING ROOM

The home had 3 different living spaces, a family room off the kitchen had a heavy wooden mantle that was removed and we tiled over the fireplace surround with painted clay tiles and a salvaged piece of wood for the mantle, we wanted this room to accommodate overflow seating from the kitchen. The owners commented after moving in that it was the room they spend the most amount of time in!

The next living space was the formal living room, where we managed to fit in the husband’s request for a leather sectional! A surfer chic leather sofa fit the bill and gave a refined vibe in the formal living room. A white Japanese paper wallpaper covers the walls in this room, keeping in line with the bright white vibe of the house while adding texture to define this more formal entertaining space. A black and white print from another local photographer, Lauren Marttila hangs above the sofa.

The sunroom is off of the living room and was the perfect space for the family to gather around the built in banquette for breakfast or game night! The room also includes two oversized armchairs, with art that the owner found at a local store in Nantucket.

THE MASTER BEDROOM

Upstairs, the master bedroom was the epitome of luxury, with a four post bed, chaise lounge, grasscloth covered nightstands and high ceilings. The owners of this home often have weekend guests and wanted the master to function as a retreat away from the rest of the house.

KIDS ROOM

The owners have two young girls and so a bunk bed adorned with mermaid sheets and a dresser with woven jute knobs, created a beachy fun young vibe in their room. This home serves as a year round retreat for the Brooklyn based owners. The vibe reminds them they are near the beach while still creating an ideal space for year round luxury living.

Dreamy Country Estate Wedding in Crimea on the Black Sea

At first glance, I mistook this real wedding for an editorial shoot. Friends, it is THAT beautiful. Set in Crimea, a remote peninsula of the Black Sea’s northern coast, rugged cliffs and a fairytale-like white castle were the backdrop for this dreamy celebration planned by Lili Wedding. Florals from Amour Flowers graced the day with uber romance. I have zero doubt you will find at least a few I must do this! moments when you peek at the gallery by Alexander and Marnina Santi.

From the Bride… The acquaintance was simple, we were introduced by a mutual friend in 2014 but we immediately understood that this meeting would not be the last! And it happened! After 4 years we decided to jump with a parachute and when I landed I saw Andrew on his knee with the ring. I was over the moon, and I didn’t even think the offer would be like this. Our wedding day will forever be one of the most beautiful moments of our lives!

Of course, the preparation began with the most touching and important—the search for the dress! And I found it the first time! You can say that my dress is love at first sight. It’s perfect!

We wanted our holiday to turn into a family dinner in a circle of loved ones somewhere in nature with a beautiful and unobtrusive atmosphere, warm communication, crazy views, tenderness of flowers and live music. The organizers picked up an excellent site—a beautiful secluded castle surrounded by forest and rocks! This area did not skimp on the stunningly beautiful views of the mountains, where we held our ceremony. We went for a walk to the sea and enjoyed the sea breeze and each other. And in the evening at the foot of the mountains we celebrated our wedding dinner and dancing with a sea of flowers in delicate pink tones, all as we wanted!

It was an amazing and fabulous day, for which we were preparing with great trepidation and love! Especially memorable atmosphere of the holiday, it is beyond words…. the colossal work of contractors, beautiful guests, happy we, nature, castle, mountains, casual jokes host, live music, dancing… everything was unforgettable and perfect, without overlays and some force majeure.

The most touching moment was our dance. We did not rehearse, it was natural, sometimes awkward, so simple and ours.

My best advice is to be sure to work with your planner and vendors! Remember that a wedding is first and foremost your holiday—listen to yourself and you will find the answers.

Outer Banks Wedding at Pirates Cove that Narrowly Missed Hurricane Florence

There are plenty of things that can go, let’s say—not as planned—during the journey from proposal to I do. But one  that you really, really don’t want to encounter is a hurricane forcing you to postpone your wedding. This became a fearful possibility for this couple when Hurricane Florence creeped a little too close for their liking. Remarkably, at the last minute, the storm shifted and their celebration went off without a hitch. Amorology layered their pretty touch on this day and Gideon Photography made sure to snap it all up—here in the full gallery.

From the couple… It all started with Mark moving to San Diego from San Franciso on a whim. He was ready for a change and his friends told him he should do it! Shortly after moving to SD, Mark and I met at a local bar through mutual friends. After that, we got set up on a double date and it was on that date that we realized how much our lives were aligned. We both were born in Alexandria, VA and lived in the same city for a short time as kids. We were both Leo’s and our birthdays were only a week apart. We were also both in the same career field. It was instantly a match!

One night, shortly after our first date, Mark and I were standing in my driveway and we saw the biggest shooting star either of us has ever seen. This star looked like a ball of fire and you could see the tail coming off the star. It soared over our heads and into the sky. We both looked at each other amazed at what we just saw and right then we both knew this was going to be something special.

When we got engaged we decided that we would get married at Mark’s parent’s beach house in Nags Head, NC. It was a special place for us and his family. It was a place we would always have to come back to! About a week before our wedding, Hurricane Florence decided to hit the east coast and was heading straight for SC and NC with the Outerbanks being right in the path of the eye. This was supposed to be the storm of the century and everyone thought the storm was destined to ruin our wedding. Everyone had their flights booked, houses rented and we were all on standby. Is this wedding going to happen or not? Remarkably, at the last minute, the storm took a route just around Nags Head and everything was fine!

We got married on September 21st, and unknowingly booked that date and then realized the Earth, Wind and Fire song “September” was perfect for our date. It was only until after Florence, the lyrics were even more applicable! The wedding turned out beautiful and everyone had a blast. The weather was stunning and Amorology’s details were perfection. At the end of the day, Mark and I are so grateful that we were able to get married and share our love with our family and friends!

Gilded Wedding Inspiration for the Autumn Obsessed Bride

Autumn carries more gold in its pocket than all the other seasons. – Jim Bishop … and so does this stunning style shoot from KR Moreno Photo. Ahh how we love Fall weddings, they’re filled with feelings of calmness, warmth and undeniable romance. Today we’re transporting you to everyone’s favorite season with this gorgeous golden-toned inspiration planned by Sincerely, Ginger Weddings & Events. Violet Rose Floral has us head over heels in love with her asymmetrical floral arch and heavenly arrangements. Keep on reading for all the must-see autumnal details…

From Violet Rose FloralPerched at 1165 feet, The Rove Estate sits at the highest point in Leelanau County overlooking sweeping views of lush Northern Michigan nature. This family-owned Vineyard was the perfect venue to showcase just one of the many beautiful and unique venues that Michigan has to offer for wedding and events.

The color palette was inspired by a gold velvet linen from Fabulous Events which complemented the changing colors of the leaves as Michigan transitioned into the Autumn season. We wanted that to be the focus of the shoot so we chose flowers that primarily consisted of white blooms creating a beautiful contrast between the colors.  Our couple read their vows in front of an asymmetrical floral arch, followed by a portrait session throughout the venues lush grounds. The bride wore a stunning Muse by Berta off the shoulder, soft ballgown with all over lace detail which proved to be the perfect combination of elegant and sexy.

The intimate reception dinner was carefully styled with wooden farmhouse chairs, fine flatware, and delicate menu cards designed by Ciara Claire that adorned each place setting. A lush floral runner was placed down the center of the table intertwined with candlelight for a romantic end to a beautiful day.

From Engagement to Family with the Same Photographer

This may possibly be my favorite feature ever, and with thousands of Style Me Pretty features under my belt—that’s saying something. This is the story of Lauren & David (and sweet little Avalyn!)… from engagement to wedding, from maternity to baby, L & D have called on Koman Photography to stand alongside them and capture their most precious milestones. Truth be told, The Komans are some of my very favorite people in the industry, so I can see why Lauren & David adore them so! Take a walk through their journey below—I have no doubt it’ll inspire you to craft a lifelong relationship with your own photographer.

From Lauren… David and I met in high school while working at Jersey Mike’s. We both went off to college and reconnected 3 years later during summer break. It wasn’t long before we knew we were meant for one another and we got engaged two years later.

When it came time to find a photographer, I was instantly drawn to the Komans’ timeless, romantic, and artistic style. After meeting with John and Marlene, everything clicked and we felt so fortunate to have found them. They were very genuine, welcoming, personable and easy to talk with.

We were nervous about taking our engagement photos at first and they quickly eased our nerves. They guided us, while being non-invasive, were easy going and reassuring. This enabled us be ourselves in front of their cameras. We had such an enjoyable time laughing and hanging out with them. We couldn’t imagine anyone else taking our photos and capturing those intimate moments between us.

See Lauren and David’s full engagement session HERE!

They were equally as enjoyable to work with on our wedding day and captured our day flawlessly. When it came time to take maternity and newborn photos, we knew we wanted them to document this next chapter in our lives.

John and Marlene are extremely creative, patient, talented and passionate about their profession and it truly shows in the quality of work that they do. A Colorful Fall Wedding at Hotel Crescent Court Complete with the Cutest Flower Girl

For this beautiful couple – the perfect wedding day meant the presence of their closest family and friends, subtle tributes to their military backgrounds, lots of bright yellow and pink blooms from Anna Rayner… oh, and the cutest four-legged flower girl we ever did see. It was the most special day planned perfectly by Keestone Events! We can’t wait to share these gorgeous photos captured by Allen Tsai Photography of Tian Tian and Chris’s joy-filled day! See it all below and prepare for some majorly aww-worthy moments.

From Keestone EventsI loved planning for Tian Tian and Chris. This is a couple who aren’t afraid to let their personalities shine through and have fun.

From Tian Tian surprising Chris by arriving at the rehearsal in a taco costume (their wedding was a few weeks before Halloween) just for kicks — she did take it off after a few minutes — to Chris surprising her with Torchy’s Tacos as a late night snack at the reception, there were twists and turns throughout their wedding that kept their group of guests guessing and cheering all night long.

Both met in West Point and were in the military for five years. They incorporated aspects from that background such as cutting the cake with the West Point saber and doing a military style grog. For their wedding, the couple was drawn to bright florals which were balanced out with neutral linens and the warm tones of Hotel Crescent Court.

Tian Tian and Chris don’t live in Dallas and they, along with most of their guests flew in from various parts of the States to make it to their big day. Since Tian Tian’s family is from China, red wooden favors that mean “double happiness” were put on each place setting as a nod to her culture. I also cannot forget to mention Sandy, Tian Tian’s Old English Sheepdog who has been the most well-behaved (and supportive) flower girl in all the weddings we have done. Sandy was such a pro and MVP!

Elegant New England Wedding at Castle Hill Inn in Newport, Rhode Island

There’s nothing quite like a classic coastal New England wedding—especially when it’s set in Newport, Rhode Island. I may be a tad biased as my very own I dos were said on these waters! So, when today’s fete at Castle Hill Inn came across my desk, a sweet nostalgia came over me. Join me in the soul-warming gallery, captured by Rebecca Arthurs.

From the Bride… Brendan and I met while both attending medical school in Washington, DC and after much persuasion, he managed to convince me to move to his hometown of Boston to continue residency training. As a Californian native, it took some time getting used to the snow, however I quickly fell in love with the old-world charm of New England. We wanted our wedding to reflect what we loved most about New England and found that in the beautiful Castle Hill Inn in Newport, RI. The easy elegance and unpretentious charm of Castle Hill Inn, with it’s beautiful coastline views and Adirondack dotted lawn was the perfect venue for us. The tented reception site created an indoor-outdoor space that allowed our guests to enjoy cocktails on the lawn, watch the beautiful late summer sunset, and enjoy the cool seaside breeze.

With its beautiful surroundings, CHI needed very little additional decor; however as a lover of flowers, finding a florist that could augment the beauty of CHI was important to me. Stoneblossom Florals did an amazing job of re-creating my dream color palette of the lightest blush surrounded by whites and greens. Hydrangeas, garden roses, rice flower, jasmine ivy, cafe au lait dahlias, etc elegantly dressed up the sperry tents. Chinese blessing scrolls my parents brought from their native Taiwan were flanked with Chinoiserie vases, a subtle nod to my Asian heritage.

Our stationers, Champagne & Ink, kept consistent with our theme and all our day of items were decorated with delicate pale pink florals. We wanted to forgo the traditional “Mr”‘ and “Mrs” chair signs, so they custom designed “Dr” and “Dr” laser cut chair signs. Although a small detail, this was special to us as it defines a large part of us as individuals and as a couple.

The best part of the night was sneaking away from the dance floor and wandering out towards the ocean. There was a moment when we looked back towards the lit up reception tent and couldn’t help but feel so lucky to be married, whilst surrounded by all the people we love.

Classic Glam Winter Wedding in Charleston at Gadsden House

When choosing your wedding style, a surefire way to create a vibe that is truly you is to reflect your daily life and habits. Do you wear your hair down 90% of the time? Don’t feel pressured to do an up-do just because it’s your wedding. Do you dress up to the nines every Friday for date night? Do what this couple did and weave that same classic glam into your Big Day. With the planning genius of Pure Luxe Bride and Dana Cubbage there to capture it all—these two truly celebrated a day of their own.

From Dana Cubbage… Miranda + Brian’s wedding inspiration came from their style as a couple. “When we get dressed up, we plan to be the best dressed at the event, so we went with a formal wedding because we enjoy looking our best and having a great time!” said the bride.

Their planners, Francesca + Blake of Pure Luxe Bride, knew that Miranda + Brian wanted a classic glam wedding with hints of grey + gold and the final design was absolute perfection! It was an elegant, timeless design with beautiful finishes that really allowed the venue to shine. The bridesmaids wore a classic beaded gown by Adrianna Papell and the guys all wore classic black tuxedos, except for the groom – who wore grey.

Andraya of Flora created a gorgeous flower wall that served as a focal point for the ceremony and guests were greeted into the house for cocktail hour with a glass of champagne from the champagne tower! The cake table stole the show with gorgeous linens and an amazing floral installation on the mantle of the fireplace behind it – it was one of my favorite details of the day.

A Classic Wedding at The Breakers Palm Beach with an Old-World European Feel

Not only is this classic wedding incredibly gorgeous and complete with an old-world European feel, it’s also filled with the most thoughtful, sentimental details incorporated throughout the day. With a little help from Carrie Zack Events, this stunning bride personalized her wedding in just about every way you could possibly imagine. From a venue that’s near and dear to her heart, to the addition of Italian ruscus in her floral arrangements as a nod to her roots, to sewn in pearls from her mother’s wedding gown in the sleeves of her dress. We are beyond blown away by the sheer beauty and precious details of this timeless affair. See it all captured by Lance Nicoll Wedding Photography below!

From the Bride… Chris has spent a lot of time traveling the world for work. He worked in a private equity firm in Phnom Penh, Cambodia for three years. Prior to meeting me, he moved back to West Palm Beach FL to be closer to his family in Vero Beach FL and to take a job opportunity in Palm Beach. I had been living in Europe and working in the fashion industry as a model. I decided to move back to West Palm Beach to finish my degree, and that is when Chris and I met. Chris and I met 4th of July weekend three years ago during a sunset cruise for my friend’s birthday. Chris later asked our mutual friend, “Can you please help me ‘run’ into her again?”. Luckily the next day, our mutual friend coordinated a firework viewing party at their house where Chris and I were able to exchange numbers. The venue we chose for our wedding has always held a special place in my heart. Growing up, my family would vacation at The Breakers so the property is filled with all these precious memories that I hold so close to my heart. As a little girl, I can remember feeling awe struck at the all the history it’s gorgeous gilded-age walls hold. Getting married at The Breakers was like a dream come true! Walking down its beautiful hallways as a little girl with my dad was always a favorite memory of mine.

Chris and I love to travel. Our wedding was inspired by the travels we shared together. Chris had proposed at St. Michael’s Mount, in Cornwall England — a beautiful hilltop, castle on a tidal island on the Cornish coast. It was important to us for our wedding to feel timeless and classic with an old-world European romantic feel. That is why we chose white florals with a hint of fresh summer greens that featured Italian ruscus — (a shout out to my Italian-family roots that Jennifer from our floral and design team thoughtfully picked out). I also wanted all my sweet angelic bridesmaids in white. Their dresses featured classic lines with a gorgeous cowl back that felt timeliness and feminine to me. I really wanted the gilded age, baroque architectural features of the reception ballroom to stand out. We choose decor to highlight these features that kept with the old world setting. We used crystal candelabras and place hundreds of candles in the sills of the 12 arched floor to ceiling windows that encircles the ballroom. This made the amber wash light bounce and glisten all over the room highlighting the already opulent space. All the candle light was very romantic and soft. I worked very closely with my friend Siuleth at Eleven Note to create our invitation suite. For me, all the little details are what make an event amazing. So, having a hand crafted invitation set the tone for our elegant old-world European feel. Siuleth watercolored the iconic front of The Breakers for the invitation liner. Featuring the historic property in the invitation gave the guest a sense of what was to come

Siuleth also designed a custom chocolate bar wrapper that featured all the wedding weekend details and a personalized “thank you letter” from Chris and me. We paired the custom chocolate bar with bottle of Champagne for our welcome gift for the guests. To keep with our timeless and elegant feel, a harpist and violinist welcome ours guests to our ceremony which was held in a historic church that my family has been going to for generations. My bouquet was designed after my best friend/grandmother’s (Mimi). I love how elegant cascading bouquets are. Having mine designed after Mimi’s was a special way to honor her presence since she is no longer with us. My mom also had Mimi’s engagement diamond set in a necklace for me to have her “close to my heart” on my wedding day. Our floral designer use a mini Calla Lily for Chris’ boutonnière, which was what my parents choose for their wedding florals. So sweet! My dress was designed by Zuhair Murad. It was important to me for it to feel feminine, classic, but with a modern-twist which Murad is a master at! I had previously worn a dress by him for a fashion shoot and knew I had to get married in one of his designs. It was important to me to be able to wear the dress both at the ceremony and reception (since it is such a special day!), the slip that gave the bodice it’s structure during the ceremony actually slides out so it revealed a little more skin for the party and was easier to move it for all the dancing that followed. During the fitting, we had pearls from my Mom’s wedding dress sown into the sleeve (wrist area) so I could see a special piece (something borrowed) of my mother’s as I was holding my bouquet down the aisle. My mom and I are very sentimental, she gave me a beautiful “wish box” after she helped me get into my wedding dress. The box had all these wonderful hard-written wedding ‘wishes’ on heart shaped notes that she had collected from my closest family members and friends. It totally melted my heart!! Love her so much. A true treasure! We also loved adding little sentimental touches anywhere we could, I had a custom lucite clutch made with J + C and Stuart Weitzman J and C shoe clips to wear on the big day!

The cake was one of the first things guests saw once they entered the ballroom. I wanted it to be a focal point of the room and to mirror the center pieces we had. It had to be a piece of art all to its own. We had our recurring J + C placed one of the top tiers in gold script and each of the 6 tiers was separated by a layer of luscious florals. It really drew a lot of attention. Since it was a summer wedding, we choose light and refreshing flavors, lemon cake with lemon mouse and fresh raspberry filling. At the end of the night, we offered our cake in “To-Go” favor boxes that read “Midnight Snack #SladeGetsJade” since The Breakers is known for their OTT desserts, after the main course, The Breakers Signature Mini Martini Sundaes was presented to each guest. It had Vanilla, Chocolate and Strawberry Haagen Dazs IceCream, Chambord Macerated Berries 3 Chocolate Fluted Cups with Toppings (M&M’s, Reese’s Cups and Candied Almonds) and a Milk Chocolate Heart that Read, “Christopher loves Jade” in a bed of White Rock Sugar with Butler Passed Hot Fudge and Caramel Sauce. It added a fun and whimsical element to all the classic and elegant vibes of the night. Plus, who does not like ice cream sundaes in the summer! After all the guests entered the reception ballroom after the cocktail hour and got situation, Chris and I made a grand entrance and were escorted by a champagne parade with sparklers. It was the grand entrance of a lifetime! We went right into our first dance, Chris and I were choose “Color of Love” by Sade. The lyrics felt perfect for us and Sade is so chic! We also had a Bride and Groom signature cocktail called “The Slade” that was a rift on a Paloma garnished with an orchid (perfect for summer!). At about 11:00pm we had

“Cheeseburgers in Paradise”butler passed around the reception room and dance floor as a “late-night” bite. Everyone loved them! The planning process was one of my favorite parts! My mom and dad were so sweet and involved every step of the way. They are huge dancers and love music so they were tasked with finding the best band. They choose The Social, a 12 piece show band, which was a huge hit! They are an incredible show band and entertain like no other, we danced all night long! The girls even did a outfit change after dinner into these stunning gold lame jumpsuits. So fantastic, everyone loved it!! It was wonderful to have all my parents support and to share the planning process with them- such a special time for us all. We had an incredible team and The Breakers is beyond flawless to work with. They not only know how to make a wedding day beyond spectacular for the bride and groom but also for all the family and guests too! We really wish we could relive our wedding day, it was perfect, timeless and beyond what we could have imagined!

Colorful Fall Wedding at Terra Art Gallery in San Francisco

Where to begin with this incredibly intriguing fete… it’s almost too beautiful for words and has me a little star struck—thankfully Rebecca Yale‘s stunning captures will do the talking. Set at San Francisco’s Terra Gallery, it’s a celebration with some of the most striking installations I’ve yet to see, thanks to Kate Siegel Fine Events and Cherries Flowers. The team at Got Light joined in the fun as well, setting the mood with the most dreamy lighting. Watch it all unfold with Rebecca’s imagery below and in the full gallery.

From Rebecca YaleKatie and Andre were married on November 18, 2018 at the Terra Gallery in San Francisco. The day was planned and designed by Kate Siegel who transformed what the bride called “the white box” into a gorgeous lush space full of greenery and florals using gold, acrylic and a custom painting by Yonder Designs to inspire the design for the day. The gallery is two levels and Kate’s team did 4 incredible installations flipping both spaces throughout the evening. Katie and André began the day at the St Regis, which is located right next to the SF Moma. They had their first look outside the distinctive grey slate walls of the Moma and then took portraits in the courtyard of the Moma with their iconic Richard Serra sculpture and a few other outdoor installations, which served as the perfect backdrop to match their art gallery wedding. Their wedding party joined them dressed all in black suits and bridesmaids dresses of their choosing for photos at the Moma and against a fun art wall nearby.

Guests began the evening with the ceremony on the upper level which took place at sunset. Cherries Flowers spent 2 days installing hanging florals and lightbulbs from gold structures custom made for the wedding day which ran the entire length of the aisle. Kate installed real hedges strung with twinkle lights behind the ceremony space with a candle installation in front of the hedges the bride and groom stood in front of during their ceremony officiated by a judge and old family friend. The sides of the room were all draped hiding the walls and creating a more intimate space.

After the ceremony guests made their way downstairs for cocktail hour, which featured high top tables with grey velvet tablecloths and large floral installations on both bars with custom gold and acrylic drink signs created by Underwood. Guests made their way back upstairs to find the room transformed with the drapery taken down and showing the art from the gallery on the walls and the dinner tables all brought in, including long rectangular tables tucked into the gold structures that had created he ceremony aisle. The tables used the same grey velvet tablecloths and rich florals that had been used downstairs and were paired with acrylic and gold Details. Underwood created a custom seating chart with the guests names printed on an acrylic slab bolted to another acrylic slab with gold leaf on it creating a beautiful 3-dimensional work of art. The same acrylic and gold leaf was used on the table numbers and the signs for the cocktails and guestbook. Underwood created a custom logo for the bride and groom using a K & A in an abstract way on the bride and groom’s guestbook and on each place card held in acrylic holders at their seats.

Yonder designed an abstract purple and grey painting for the invitation that was used as a layer underneath a piece of vellum which had the text printed on it creating a beautiful multi dimensional effect and was tied together with a piece of black string also used on the ceremony programs. The same painting was used in the creation of the menu and the guestbook a lot with the abstract K & A logo. Each guest had an individual menu tucked inside a purple velvet napkin which featured the menu on one side and a thank you note from the bride and groom on the other with a selection of quotes printed on each thank you, to thank their guests for celebrating with them. The Bay Bride was visible from the venue and the bride and groom decided to embrace their love for their city by creating a custom post card with SF icons on a sketch on the front.

While guests dined upstairs the cocktail space was transformed with lighting and new lounge furniture was installed for an evening of dancing with an incredible stage with custom lightbulbs reminiscent of the ones on the 2nd floor. A champagne tower was set up in the entrance to the dance floor and a large dessert table with all the bride and groom’s favorite desserts light with purple and blue lighting to highlight the art on the walls and transform the space for an evening of dancing. The bride and groom kicked off the night with parents dances and then their own first dance before inviting everyone to the floor followed later in the evening by two special dances led by their friends including both the bride and groom crowd surfing and being thrown in the air during Magic Carpet Ride and a group sing-a-Long to Piano Man with all 200+ guests singing along.

A Dreamy Intimate Wedding at Villa Le Fontanelle in Tuscany

Since the bride is from California and the groom from England, they knew they wanted an intimate destination wedding where all their closest friends and family could experience a fun, relaxing, once-in-a-lifetime weekend together. Tuscany was the winning locale (for obvious reasons…!) From the bride’s fairytale Hayley Paige gown to the adorable donkey adorned with flowers by Viola Malva – there’s so much to love about this stunning Tuscan affair! See all the details planned by Original Tuscan Wedding in these gorgeous photos captured by Rossini Photography.

From Rossini PhotographyTuscany is being every year more and more requested from couples who want to have their destination wedding in Italy. And it’s easy to understand why… A rich culture, rustic and romantic scenery perfectly mixed with the marvelous Renaissance art, and the taste of its world-renowned food and wine… All this things are basically the reasons why Tuscany checks all the boxes when planning a wedding! The whole day took place at Villa Le Fontanelle, originally a simple peasant farm, became in the XV century one of the properties of the Medici family. During the centuries the villa was home to several families, who changed its aspect many times. Every day since then has been dedicated to the planning and maniacal research of every single color, furniture and fabric in order to create a unique location, where nothing is left to chance.

Every day since then has been dedicated to the planning and maniacal research of every single color, furniture and fabric in order to create a unique location, where nothing is left to chance. A dreamy environment where beauty is manifested everywhere, a feast for the eyes and a shelter for the soul. Aware of the bride’s love for all things pink, her husband proposed with a pink sapphire engagement ring. It was the ring’s peachy pink color that set the colours of the wedding. The Hayley Paige dress was a beautiful amethyst shade, covered in intricate beading and floral designs throughout. With its cathedral length train and veil, it was fit for a princess! With light hues of pink and purple in mind, the bride together with the wedding planners, added peach, gray, white and silver to the wedding color story. These colors are reflected in the bridal and bridesmaid bouquets, flower arrangements and tablescape. The end result was romantic and elegant with a Tuscan flair.

From the bride… With Alec being from England and I from California, we always knew we would have a destination wedding; the question became, “Where?” We envisioned a beautiful and relaxing location, one that would offer new experiences and allow us to spend quality time with our closest family and friends. Wedding days can go by fast, so a place where time moves slower was ideal. Tuscany, with its rich culture and rustic scenery checked all the boxes. A wedding here would provide the romantic backdrop we sought, an opportunity to marvel at its Renaissance art, and a taste of its world-renowned food and wine. When deciding on a photographer, we were seeking someone who used light as a method of producing romantic style photos. Aware of my love for all things pink, Alec proposed with a pink sapphire engagement ring. It was the ring’s peachy pink color that set the colors of the wedding.

My Hayley Paige dress was a beautiful amethyst shade, covered in intricate beading and floral designs throughout. With its cathedral length train and veil, it was fit for a princess! We purchased the dress during one of her trunk shows at JLM Couture’s flagship store located in West Hollywood. Having Hayley Paige herself ask if I was saying yes to the dress while my mom, brother and others cheered is a memory I will cherish always! With light hues of pink and purple in mind, we added peach, gray, white and silver to our color story. These colors are reflected in the bridal and bridesmaid bouquets, flower arrangements and tablescape. The end result was romantic and elegant with a Tuscan flair. A cute local donkey adorned with flowers greeted guests and made for a fun photo opportunity. Mini olive oil bottles served as favors and traditional Italian food and beverages were served at dinner and made available throughout the evening.

Luca and Claudia from Rossini Photography are a wonderful married couple, which I think helps as they worked seamlessly together. They were always smiling, very friendly, and quite funny. With such an intimate wedding, we worried they would be noticeable. On the contrary, they were very discreet and natural, but also approachable (my dad still shares how much he loved speaking with Luca!). Prior to the wedding, we had shared a list of places we wanted to take couple photos at. At the top of our list, and where we ended up going, was San Miniato Church. The view this location offers is what dreams are made of! Seeing the end result, we can honestly say Rossini far exceeded our expectations. Looking back, our wedding does feel like a dream! When planning a wedding from abroad, it is easy to stress and worry about the end result. In our case, everything was based strictly on photos, ideas and conversations we had exchanged with our wedding planners. Come the wedding day, everything was as much a surprise for us as it was for our wedding guests. Our advice for couples planning a destination wedding would be to stay organized, do your research, and hire an experienced wedding planner with whom you mesh. Communication is key with successfully planning a wedding long-distance. Stay calm and remember to enjoy the process! The to-do lists may seem never-ending, but the end result is so worth it!

(Just picture this on a sleek, diamond-encrusted twisting silver band!). Or, there’s also the ever-popular blue sapphire engagement ring. With deep coloring, it’s both striking and romantic whether in a vintage or classic setting. (It’s no wonder our girl Kate Middleton went with this one!).

Last but not least, there the dazzling aquamarine gemstone ring. One look into the light and airy crystal gemstone and you’ll be dreaming of you next seaside getaway. Pair it with a silver halo setting, or any diamonds for that matter, and you’ll be ready to pack those bags and escape the cold. Au revoir!

Modern & Whimsical City Wedding at JW Marriott Chicago

If you were to ask me what kinds of celebrations I love the most—which ones have earned a special place in my wedding-loving heart, I would surely say, “the ones that are bursting with blooms!“. This one from Emilia Jane, Holly Heider Chapple Flowers LTD and LK Events delivers that craving like no other. With JW Marriott Chicago as the reception backdrop, you can find yourself swimming in garden roses, ranunculus and peonies galore. Join us right this way for more.

Bridget and Lou first set eyes on one another in 2010 when they both started jobs at the same Kentucky-based company, a maker of fine American Whiskey (read: Bourbon!). Both would later admit to surreptitiously looking the other up in the corporate directory upon first sighting. Despite a clear initial attraction, the relationship started off as just friends. But after three years of cautious flirtation, or as Lou refers to it, his “evaluation period,” Bridget finally completed her due diligence and stated her intentions to acquire Lou as a boyfriend, effective October 2013. Hence began a whirlwind romance (okay, another three plus years) filled with the perfect blend of adventures, ski trips, Kentucky Derbies, dance floors, and way-too-serious conversations. Things culminated in 2017 on a family trip to Hawaii, where Lou asked for Bridget’s hand in marriage as the sun set over the Pacific.

The Wedding… Bridget is one of ten kids and the fourth sister in four years to be getting married; in other words, her family had established their go-to blueprint for executing memorable weddings. Booking the “family band,” The Headliners based in Florida, was the first order of business and the wheels were officially set in motion. Bridget’s sister Meg had just married Jim that past Memorial Day weekend at the Mayflower Hotel in Washington, D.C.. Hoping to capture that same city-wedding sentiment and fun energy, we decided on Memorial Day Weekend 2018 in Chicago, checking all the boxes for entertainment, ease of travel, and just an overall really great city.

Stealing yet another detail from her sister’s wedding, we entrusted Holly Heider Chapple (the floral designer from Meg’s D.C. wedding) with full creative direction and floral design services. Thanks to her incredible vision and eye for detail, the ballroom was transformed into a masterpiece of flowers, color and even trees, a floral fantasy land! Bridget loves vibrant colors and elements of drama and Holly and her fabulous team truly elevated the design beyond anything we could have imagined.

When looking into different Chicago-based photographers, Bridget was drawn to Emilia Jane’s photography style. Emilia ended up being such a perfect fit, both in personality and aesthetic. Seeing her in action, doing her amazing photo thing while also efficiently navigating a large bridal party was truly impressive.

The wedding weekend festivities kicked off with the rehearsal dinner at the cozy and intimate Tortoise Club restaurant and followed the next night with a “Welcome Party” at the Terzo Piano at the Art Institute of Chicago, complete with tours of the Modern Wing. The wedding ceremony took place at the truly special Old St. Patrick’s Church in the West Loop, with the reception following at the JW Marriott in the Financial District. The JW Marriott events team and our LK Events team were such pleasure to work with and masterfully ensured all the wedding weekend details went off without a hitch.

A Classic New England Summer Wedding at Basin Harbor

A timeless blush, green and white color scheme, a reception under a sprawling sailcloth tent and a view of the harbor… AKA the perfect ingredients for a charming, quintessential New England wedding. We couldn’t be more smitten with this stunning lakeside affair at the Basin Harbor. Rodeo & Co captured all the must-see moments while Nector & Root decorated the day in lush blooms, bringing the bride’s garden wedding dreams to life! The night ended with a bang thanks to a magical fireworks show (and Vermont creemees, of course!) Keep on reading to see the day unfold…

From the Bride and Groom… We had our dream wedding weekend at Basin Harbor, a picturesque resort nestled alongside Vermont’s Lake Champlain. All our guests stayed on-site at the venue, either in quaint lakeside cottages or the historic main lodge. As avid organizers, we planned activities throughout the weekend for our guests, showcasing our love of itineraries and Vermont.

The wedding weekend started on Lake Champlain aboard The Escape for a cocktail cruise. Later that night, everyone gathered for a Lobster Bake welcome dinner, dressed in their best British-themed hats and fascinators, a nod to Jonny’s English heritage. Prizes were awarded to guests with the best headgear.

Our wedding day commenced early the following morning with a friend-led yoga class in the Orchard Garden, followed by a touch rugby game—no tackling of the groom allowed!

Our outside ceremony had a garden theme, with a focus on flowers and green leafy plants. Our (rather large…!) wedding parties dazzled in light pink gowns and tuxedos. Time stood still, as we enjoyed a thoughtful speech by our best friend and officiant, Ashley, and emotional vows we wrote ourselves. Our friends shared readings, including an amusing collection of marriage advice we had requested guests write on their invitation RSVP cards.

After the ceremony, we took off on a getaway boat for a few private moments together. Upon returning to land for the cocktail hour, a stunning sunset unfolded, an unexpected treat.

Our wedding reception was held outside on the main lawn under a sailcloth tent. After a quick outfit change, we surprised our guests with two choreographed dances—a slow dance to “Coming Home” by Leon Bridges, followed by a more upbeat swing dance to “Sh-Boom,” by the Crew Cuts. From then on, our guests barely left the dance floor, until a surprise firework show over the harbor. The night was capped off with sparklers, classic Vermont creemees, a bonfire, and an after party at Basin Harbor’s local bar, The Red Mill. A Sunday farewell brunch culminated our perfect weekend.

Classic Loire Valley Wedding at Chateau d’Artigny in France

Today’s story of love—captured by Oliver Fly and planned by Vanessa & Caroline of Creatrices de Mariages—is the stuff fairytales are made of. A chateau with grounds so pretty you won’t believe your eyes, a Bride so lovely you’ll have a hard time not staring and a ceremony graced with the Loire Valley sun. Oh, did I mention these two cuties?! They are the cherry on top. I can’t even with their presh little faces. There is truly SO much more that I couldn’t cram into the main imagery you see below—so make sure to click through the full gallery too.

From the planner, Vanessa & Caroline Créatrice de MariagesAmber & Jay wedding took place at the beautiful Chateau d’Artigny in Loire Valley. When we met them in Paris, we instantly connected and we knew what venue would suit them. They immediately loved Chateau d’Artigny and on their way back asked to book it! We had such an amazing time planning Amber & Jay’s wedding. They were so involved in the planning process with so many ideas and wishes. Their attention to details made us want to go further to perfect the wedding to the last little details. Everything was thought of: welcome signs, sunglasses engraved with their names, paper bags for the petal toss, the sparklers table with personalized matchboxes, the welcome boxes with chocolate and local sparkling wine…Amber and Jay wanted their guest to be pampered from the moment they arrived!

The couple love flowers and wanted to have a wedding surrounded by white flowers and greenery. The most challenging for the floral designer, Esther Lamarche, was not to use roses at all! The ambiance had to reflect the purity of their feelings and the French refinement. Amber wanted to use the Lisianthus, which was actually the flower of the season, as the main flower for all flower arrangement. Its purity and refinement reminded her of the majestic Chateau d’Artigny. A gem surrounded by nature. So, the floral designer selected very carefully some regional producers for a high quality variety of Lisianthus. The bride’s bouquet was only white lisianthus flowers which made it unique as it’s not usually a flower used for a bridal bouquet. The ceremony took place in the garden of Chateau d’Artigny and the idea was to have a wow effect with the arch, and it definitely had that effect! Everyone was amazed by this beautiful ceremony setting with the clear napoleon chairs, the arch and its crystal chandelier, the white carpet…everything was perfect.

We took time to work on the table top setting in white and gold. We wanted the table to be simple and elegant, not over the top. The menus had a touch of gold leaves and guest were offered gold macarons as well. The wedding cake was a marble cake with gold trim and was uniquely presented in a round flower arch.

Amber choose gold shades and calligraphy in order to match the delicate and romantic scenery of her wedding day. The use of gold ink for their place cards and gold leafs for their menus gave consistency to the overall while theme adding various textures to it. Also a monogram was created for their invitation and was used on the ‘day of stationery’. The choice of the paper was also quite important, as she needed the stationery to keep a modern look without shifting away from romanticism. As “details create the big picture”, Amber & Jay couldn’t go without adding custom signs for the day and little notes here and there for their guests, always while adding their signature calligraphy. Attention to details never go unnoticed, and stationery on their big day played a big factor in this.

The day started with preparations in the round room of the chateau with its spectacular arched ceiling. The ambiance was relaxed and the bridesmaids had a great time with the bride preparing for the big day. Once all the guests were seated and the groom and groomsmen were down the aisle, the bridal party made her way through the corridors to the garden approaching her groom. The processional was elegantly, accompanied by a classical duo of a harpist and violinist. The beautiful bride, Amber, with her hair down, in an all lace dressed walked down the aisle with her father by her side to the harp and violin version of “Can’t Help Falling in Love”. The ceremony was an emotional moment as it showed Amber and Jay’s intense love to each other. The cocktail, on the Chateau’s terrace overlooking the beautiful valley, was entertained by singer and guitar, who played as well during the reception dinner.

For the cherry on the top, the couple wanted to surprise their guests with a firework display at the end of dinner. The guests were invited to ‘sparkle’ the way for the newlyweds and after a moving toast from the groom, the fireworks surprised all the guests. Our surprise to the bride and groom was the electronic violinist who played accompanying the firework display.

The bridal party danced all night after the fireworks and it was truly a day they would cherish and remember forever!
