This Thailand Wedding Has Us Falling in Love With Floral Arbors All Over Again

We’re still not sure which is more beautiful, the panoramic ceremony views of the Andaman Sea in Thailand or the towering floral arbor lush with pink and cream blooms by IAMFLOWER. But, there’s one thing we know for sure – this wedding is a total STUNNER. The blushing bride had 3 equally gorgeous outfit changes, one for the ceremony and two for the reception, while her bridesmaids celebrated alongside in matching mauve gowns. Guests dined under a canopy of twinkle lights and cascading greenery at the reception – the entire day went off without a hitch thanks to The Wedding Bliss Thailand! Check out the full gallery captured by Jada Poon Photography to see all the pretty…

From The Wedding Bliss ThailandMonica and Rex met back in 2008 in London where they both studied at Imperial college. One of their romantic dates was having a picnic on Primrose Hill overlooking London on a beautiful autumn afternoon.

During their trip to Iceland for their 100 months “anniversary” as a couple, they hiked to the top of the waterfall called Systrafoss with picturesque and romantic scenery overlooking the Southern part of Iceland. Rex found a quiet in a spot, knelt on one knee and the rest is history.

Monica and Rex came up with all overall elegant, rustic and timeless romantic wedding theme, combining light and airy colours like blush, pearled ivory, nude, with accents of green and burgundy. They chose February, the month of love, to celebrate their big day, taking place at the breathtaking panoramic views of the Andaman Sea, Villa Aye.

While working on the wedding design, we made sure every detail was well intended and reflected the couple’s aesthetic. Bride specially requested for her favourite flowers to be included in floral compositions: Keira garden roses, Pink astilbe, Ranunculus “Hanoi”, spray roses, Cafe latte and Chocolate scabiosa, — the overall result turned out elegant and classy, with a slight rustic charm. The reception was under the light brown wooden structure marquee, set up with nude drapes to soften the edges of the beams, hanging light bulbs and greenery vines.

This is What It Looks Like When You Marry an English Garden-Inspired Wedding with Mexican Flare

Krista and Pedro’s wedding celebration is the ultimate model of blending two heritages and the result is STUNNING, friends. Who knew that English garden wedding mashed up with Mexican flare could be so pretty? Whitewood Events and Amy Osaba made that happen with their design and floral genius, respectively; while Amanda Olivia Photography captured this collection of images for us to soak in. What’s your favorite detail from this day?

From the Bride… Pedro and I married on May 18 in Athens, Georgia. Our entire celebration took part in a small garden that’s a stone’s-throw away from where I attended art school. We just loved how cozy and tucked away it felt. When I told my parents we were considering the garden as our venue, they shared that they’d actually dated there. So the decision was made!

When I imagined our day, I considered our personal stories, families, and ancestries. Pedro was born in California with extended family and ancestry rooted in Mexico. I was born in Georgia with predominantly British ancestry. In communicating to vendors, I often summarized the aesthetic as: “An English garden with Mexican details and a romantic color palette”.

Our ceremony took place in the upper garden. Decor built on design elements already in the space, including cement textures and black accents. We chose to purchase, rather than rent, the planters used for the altar, because I loved the idea of incorporating them into our home as a tangible reminder of the day. One of my favorite memories is from my last moments in hiding when our string trio played “I Left My Heart in San Francisco”—an homage to the city where we met. I definitely teared up, and I’ve been told I’m not the only one! We were married by my childhood pastor. The friend who originally introduced us was one of our readers and he was followed by Pedro’s father who wrote a poem for us.

Cocktail hour was in a courtyard between the ceremony and reception spaces. Guests had their choice of peach sangria as well as a variety of beer and wine from our home states. We had a great mariachi band who played a mixture of traditional songs and pop covers. We had a great time dancing to the mariachi band and Pedro’s dad even stepped in to serenade us for one of the songs.

The reception space was our highest priority since we’d spend most of our time there. We placed it in our favorite part of the property: a sunken garden accessed by a pair of ivy-covered staircases. It’s shaded by magnolia trees and has a small lily pond at the far end. The tables were laid out banquet style, dressed in velvet linens, and filled with lush florals, fruit, and candles. We hung custom papel picado over the dance areas. Guests indulged in Southern comfort food while we did our formal dances. Our first dance was to Carla Morrison’s “Eres Tú”. Parent dances followed, and we had our siblings cut in halfway through to add a personal touch.

This Intimate Summer Wedding Puts A Fresh Spin on Southern Charm

This is southern charm like you’ve never seen done before, y’all. The gorgeous bride and groom tied the knot in an intimate summer wedding right outside of Charleston at Kiawah River under blankets of spanish moss – the setting couldn’t have been more romantic. Designed by Host & Haven, the solo reception table was decorated with unique details such as tortoise shell plates, bamboo director chairs and fresh white blooms from Vero Designs. Simply Sarah Photography captured every sweet moment perfectly, check out the full gallery for some major The Notebook vibes.

From the bride… Will and I met at Washington & Lee University. I was a freshman and he was a junior. Strangely enough, Will was the first guy I met on campus! My roommate and I went to a fraternity party and I remember feeling like a fish out of water. Will came right up to us and started chatting away. It wasn’t love at first sight. We became good friends for my first year of college and hung around in the same circles. It wasn’t until my sophomore year that we both started to think we might be something more than just friends. We started dating casually and then Will was hurt in a really bad accident during a tennis match. He was captain of the tennis team at W&L and he put his leg through a window at the indoor tennis center during a match. It was a pretty awful accident and he almost lost his leg that day. I think we truly fell in love in those weeks and months after his accident. We spent so much time together and I was very much a part of his recovery process. Sometimes in the face of adversity and bad times, something really beautiful can come out of it!

Will and I got engaged in Oxford England at Blenheim Palace! Will and I were living in the UK at the time for our respective jobs. I was in London and he lived in Oxford. Blenheim is a beautiful palace just outside of Oxford in the Cotswold’s that we frequented on weekends. We used to go for walks there and attend lots of local events. It is such a beautiful spot that Will felt it would be the perfect place to propose. He needed someone to bring the ring over from the US so he enlisted his parents to fly over for a visit to bring the ring and plan a surprise. We went to tour the estate with his parents and then he pulled me aside to go for a walk around the lake. He was nervous so I knew something was up! He got down on one knee right beside the lake and in the middle of rolling English fields. It was such a beautiful backdrop for the occasion. We then met up with his family for a champagne brunch at a pub to celebrate! I later learned that the night before, he dropped the ring in the sink of my apartment trying to look at it. After it almost went down the drain, he needed to get that ring on my finger ASAP!

Our favorite memory from our wedding is definitely the band. We hired the Liquid Pleasure super show for our reception. The band is a really special piece of our history together. Liquid Pleasure would play every year at Washington and Lee’s Parent’s Weekend. To this day our parents still talk about those parties and rave about the ladies who really bring the heat. They are the most fun and make everyone dance like there is no tomorrow. Our friends have since hired them for their weddings so it has been awesome to see them over and over again! My second favorite memory is leaving the ceremony to head to the reception. We had a second to just soak everything in and talk just the two of us.

We can’t say enough good things about Simply Sarah. Not only is she an amazing photographer, but we truly think of her as a friend after our wedding day. She makes you feel so comfortable in front of the camera and really gets to know you on a personal level. The whole day flowed so effortlessly which is a testament to Sarah’s care and guidance throughout the festivities. The pictures are natural and full of life and love which is a testament to her skill and timeless aesthetic. She made us laugh, cry, and celebrate all day. We usually don’t like getting our picture taken but you hardly even notice the camera when Sarah is around. I wouldn’t have hired anyone else to capture all the special moments of our day. Sarah’s work will be a forever memento of the best day of our lives!

Coastal-Inspired Home with Crazy Good Exposed Beams + Beaded Chandys

Three cheers for beaded chandeliers. This home is practically dripping in them which is clearly fine by us since, as we previously mentioned, we’re die hard fans of major lighting moments. And between the beads, the entry star, and gorgeous exposed beams, this home is speaking our love language. With the help of Blackband Design and Tessa Neustadt, there’s a whole vault full of pretty for you to get lost in.

This home had a lot of its original Spanish style architecture which we loved, but we wanted to modernize it and bring a coastal vibe to the design. One of the biggest goals for our clients was to keep things family friendly and comfortable, while still looking sophisticated for entertaining.

We started by refreshing the paint color in a lighter, crisp tone to help open up the space. We kept the color scheme very monochromatic, a mix of naturals with fresh accents by pulling in grays, creams and taupes.

Most of the furnishings in this home were custom made including the entry consoles, dining table, dining buffet, sofas, coffee table, desk, the built-ins in the kids playroom, and all of the rugs. By designing custom furnishings it allows us to offer our clients one of a kind pieces that we can alter in size, materials, finish, etc.

This Spot in the World Was Made for Intimate Destination Weddings

We’ve been serving up a whole lot of Lake Como weddings as of late and I’m not one bit mad about it. It’s truly the stuff that wedding dreams are made of… with it’s incredible views, old-world charm and quaint ceremony spots that were put on this earth for intimate I dos. Take a moment to experience this celebration planned by Fanny Staaf Events and captured by 2 Brides Photography, it will be time well spent, promise.

With the love and support from family and friends, Elin and Abdré married in a special ceremony at the Villa Pizzo by Lake Como in Italy. It was one of those days where you just felt you didn’t want it to end. Like ever. At the end of the evening we put our cameras away, danced, had a glass of champagne and just lived it. After 12+ hours feet hurt, your shoulders are somewhat tense, and your cheeks are in pain from smiling so much!

I’m so thankful for the series of events that led me to meet Elin and André. They are an absolutely charming couple, and I’m beyond grateful I got to document their beautiful wedding day. The vision was to make Elin and André’s wedding as personal as possible! The planner Fanny Staaf Events wanted to bring in so much of their history, life together, and their personalities. The color palette was based on the stone in Elin’s ring, and their living room couch, the rest of the design was based on their love for interior styling.

They didn’t care much for a cake, so it was exchanged for a champagne tower, a close friend of the bride and groom officiated the wedding for maximum personality and the catering company composed a customized menu according to their wishes instead of serving from their regular selection. Every little detail breathed Elin and André, and nothing was by chance or because tradition dictates it to be included. Their monogram that graphic designer Elin’s Art Studio produced was put a lot of thought to it. The line that goes through the A and E symbolizes a strand of hair since the bride is a hair stylist. Finally, the letters lean against each other just as Elin and André do.

[iframe http://player.vimeo.com/video/328965600 600 338]

A few words from the graphic designer, Elins Art StudioComing up with the suite for this lovely couple was a treat! As he is a retired professional football player and she is a influencer hairdresser I created their monogram to represent both a strand of hair, or a football being swooshed through the air.

Fanny had made an amazing mood board, inspired by the couples decorating style, and their big navy velvet sofa. So I took on the challenge to gold foil on velvet paper. It was tricky to make the design so thin, but with some trial and error we ended up with pleasing results both esthetic and in quality. The blue marble design is a hint to both the lake itself, and as a crossover between Italian and Scandinavian design. So I also incorporated that into the mandatory map. A villa as beautiful as Villa Pizzo is a must to illustrate.

I always think as practical as I can when I design for a wedding. We had two challenges here, where the fist was we had to ship everything down, and make it fit in a suitcase. the second thing was that they were going to eat outside, and we can’t have the paper goods flying away at the smallest breeze.
So I ended up making a vellum bellyband, with the marble pattern and everybody namne in white ink. This was wrapped around both the menu and the napkin to give it some weight. I loved making this crossover Swedish minimalism meets Italian villa, and I would love to make something like this again!

This Santorini Destination Wedding Has Dream Views You Need To See

I’m ready to book my next vacation after seeing today’s fete from Les Anagnou Photographers. Santorini, here I come. This spot has long sat on my travel wish list, but today it jumped into my top three. For Desiree and Jason, a destination wedding was a no-brainer (after researching costs for a local wedding), and the result is a celebration at Canaves Oia that I just know will pull at your wedding-loving heartstrings. Soak in all the scenery right here.

From the bride… We really were inspired to have a destination wedding in Santorini from our first visit to the island the year prior to our wedding. It’s actually kind of funny — we were totally against destination weddings before our trip but we just loved Santorini so much and the staff at Canaves Oia were just so friendly and inviting, that we knew we couldn’t go wrong if this was our venue. After that trip we actually looked into having a wedding there before we even got engaged!

We got engaged that summer and then toyed with the idea of having something local but once we viewed costs, the value of a destination wedding just couldn’t be beat. Being able to have your closest friends and family travel to a beautiful place they might not have otherwise traveled to and being able to celebrate for days rather than just for hours really helped us make that decision. Everything was so laid back and calm the day of. I really entrusted the staff and despite our room being footsteps from the venue, I never even went to see how things were going! One of the moments I really appreciated was being able to have breakfast and a swim with my husband the morning of. I think when you are in such a beautiful locale, even if something goes wrong it would be hard to notice. I was also against a first look prior to our photographers suggestion, because I was worried all of the emotion would be left in that moment and guests would miss it. But really it is another opportunity to create a special moment between you two and I promise there was plenty of emotion left for the ceremony! It also allows you to get those photos done prior so you can get to the party faster!

Our planning process really began with the venue, Canaves Oia, which provided us with options for just about every aspect of the wedding, including our incredible four course meal, wedding cake, non-floral décor, and menu/place cards, which is another benefit to having a destination wedding! The provided planner recommended our florist, Betty Flowers Santorini, who was amazing! And through browsing their website I noticed they credit the photographers for each wedding they style. So I started to pay attention to what style photos I really liked and that is how we found our photographers, Paul and Yiota of Les Anagnou. They both are truly amazing at what they do and are the sweetest people. I wanted our photos to have a timeless beauty and they delivered not only that, but so much more.

My biggest advice to couples is to absolutely do what you want for your day, whatever that means for you. It truly is about you and your partner and the commitment that you are making to one another, so being able to celebrate in the way you want makes it that much more special, memorable and enjoyable! Also, I may now be impartial to destination weddings but I would tell anyone considering it to lose the assumption that it would be more costly than a traditional wedding. We were able to have a beautiful locale, gorgeous photos, an incredible menu, closeness with our guests, and a gift of a sailing excursion for everyone the following day! For us that value just couldn’t be beat and we wouldn’t trade it for the world.

The Dreamiest Ruffled Wedding Dress That Will Leave You Blushing

Today we’re sharing some pretty from Her Maid of Honor that will without a doubt have you considering Bali for your destination wedding or elopement. The talented team at Bali Signature transformed the geometric design of Alila Villas Uluwatu with hanging pampas grass installations complete with sweet peas, ranunculus and roses (only the absolute dreamiest blooms of course). The modern yet soft tablescape captured by Alice Ahn perfectly complimented the dramatic views of the terrace. Our favorite part, you ask? The dress. Ohhh, the dress… grown-up girly girls are about to fall in love with this blushing beauty. See the full gallery for more!

From Her Maid of HonorBali is popularly known for its beautiful beaches and culture, but what most people are not familiar with is Uluwatu, the Southern Part of the island. Perched on limestone cliffs 100 metres above the Indian Ocean, the view from Alila Villas is nothing less than picture-perfect-aquamarine ocean vistas & glorious golden sunsets.

The architectural design of the venue is very modern with its signature pattern of wood slated pavilion. Our focus for the shoot is to create a design that works with the surrounding without overwhelming it. We picked feather as the basis of the design with a purpose to soften out the wooden geometrical pattern. We started the day with bridal preparation inside the villa followed by a ceremony in sunset cabana.

We kept things modern with the use of ghost chairs so they do not obstruct the amazing view, and added a hanging installation made of pampas grass which has a feather feel to it. With the help of Jeanny from Bali Signature, we transformed the lookout terrace into an intimate dinner setting.

She opted for beautiful flowers, such as lunaria , sweet pea, lagurus, ranunculus, roses, and preserved ferns, all in beautiful pastel shade, combined with a punch of pink in the menu and place card designed by Parler Studio. Photographed by Alice Ahn during sunset, the white turned into golden pink which makes the set up looks very dreamy.

This Chic Austin Wedding Took Place in a Glass Barn! The Ultimate Statement Venue.

If you’re looking to take your dream barn wedding next level, you must see this GLASS barn at Barr Mansion in Austin! This is rustic elegance at it’s finest, my friends. With guidance and planning by 36th Street Events, Aly & David celebrated in the chicest way possible for their summer fete—complete with a to-die-for blush Monique Lhuillier dress. I’m crushing hard on this one and I have a feeling you will too, once you peek at these captures by The Edges. What are you waiting for?!

From The Edges… Aly & David met at a dive bar in NYC several years ago and the rest is history! They had destination wedding in Aly’s hometown of Austin, TX. The wedding venue is an estate that includes a home built in 1898, a working farm, and a restored 18th century barn transported from New York. The design was a perfect blend of NYC chic and fun, quirky Austin with a moody and romantic aesthetic.

There were so many unique and personal design elements included throughout the day. The invitation and paper goods were created by one of their closest friends, Robert Alvarez. Guests were welcomed to the weekend with a box of treats like Tito’s Vodka (from Austin) and the couple’s favorites snacks of Goldfish crackers and champagne gummy bears. The ceremony backdrop was a custom pampas grass installation that perfectly complimented Aly’s dress.

Cocktail hour included live music and the cutest “beer burros” for entertainment. Instead of signature cocktails, they offered whiskey and bubbles stations so guests could sample different varieties of each. Dinner was served in a glass barn with rustic wood tables and lots of gold and black accents. The rest of the evening was spent dancing (to a live band, it’s Austin of course) and lounging in the warm Texas night.

Why You Shouldn’t Stress Over the Rehearsal Dinner So Much

With rehearsal dinners typically having little to no formal timeline, shorter times than the wedding day, and more casual attire, they are inarguably less hectic and eventful than the wedding day. The evening provides a relaxing night of greeting guests and introducing them to each other. If I haven’t convinced you yet, here are the key reasons you shouldn’t stress over the rehearsal dinner.

You’re Free to Schedule It as You Please

Susan Dunne remarks, “Traditionally your rehearsal dinner usually takes place the evening before your wedding following the ceremony run-through with your wedding planner. I tell our clients this can happen at anytime the day or two prior to the wedding. We have had our rehearsal in the morning and the couple heads out to a brunch vs. a dinner. It’s a win as they can get squeeze in a quiet and peaceful evening the night prior to their big day. Don’t stress about having to keep it traditional or don’t stress over the formality. Do what makes you and your fiancé happy, what truly represents you, it’s ok to have small bites and cocktails… Work with your planner to see what best suits you, your budget and style.”

Don’t Fret Over the Guest List

Susan Dunne also adds, “Don’t stress over the guest list. It’s nice to invite your guest who are coming from afar, however, it’s ok to just invite both immediate family, guest who have a part in your ceremony/reception, bridal party and their significant others.” You don’t need to worry about inviting all of your guests to the dinner if it’s not in the budget or if you simply want to spend the evening with a smaller crowd.

Focus on Family Time

Wedding planner Jacqueline Hallgarth stresses that the rehearsal dinner should be a joyful and relaxed evening that focuses on family bonding. She says, “Rehearsal Dinners & Welcome Receptions traditionally kick off an eventful Wedding Weekend. Since this would be the first time both sides’ closest family and friends are in one setting, you don’t want to put too much pressure on yourself and the event. Especially with a new family dynamic! Stress or anxiety on any Pre-Wedding Event can bleed into your emotions on the big day. Have fun with the Rehearsal Dinner and make it playful! If you and your fiancé are having a great time, this will translate to your guests and blissful Wedding Weekend!”

It’s More Casual Than the Wedding

Nancy and Anne of Fete in France note that “The rehearsal dinner is just that – a rehearsal – or preamble to the main event. In particular with destination weddings, rehearsal dinners act more as a welcome event and are a great way to kick off the festivities. One way to keep stress levels at bay is to have the rehearsal dinner be a less formal event, such as a cocktail party with heavy hors d’oeuvres. The cocktail party format can be chic and sophisticated, or laid back and casual, with fantastic food stations and even specialty cocktails. An added bonus it that avoids having to do yet another table plan, and allows you to mingle with your guests throughout the entire evening.”

Calling all Patterned Tile Lovers! This Bath Reno will Steal Your Heart

Bathroom renovations can completely transform a home and if you’re going to give it an overhaul you might as well make it the most relaxing, gorgeous light filled space ever in existence. That was goal #1 for Jen’s bath and #2 was adding a bit of pattern. The result is stunning and perfect for the person who might be a wee bit afraid of #2. Those stunning cement tiles will make a believer out of you.

When my husband and I started renovating our 50’s cottage last year, the bathroom to be honest, was not very high on our to do list. But after a series of unfortunate events that began with updating the leaky galvanized plumbing to ripping out the dated built-in vanity and rotten floorboards, we found ourselves with a completely gutted bathroom.

For a while, we’d stare at this literal hole in the house that looked like a bunch of random 2×4’s with pipes sticking out here and there, bearing no resemblance to a bathroom whatsoever, and wonder what we had gotten ourselves into. With the help of an amazing contractor, however, we were put at ease as all the pieces slowly fell into place.

We wanted the bathroom to be low maintenance and practical yet fresh and relaxing. The door leading out to the dog run and backyard made the space ideal for freshening up after an afternoon of gardening or playing with the pup, and also let in a ton of natural light.

We finished the room with a coat of bright white paint and contrasted the starkness of the walls with brass and wooden accents as well as a show-stopping cement tile pattern for the floors. To say that I love the floors would be an understatement and while I am not one to be so bold with pattern typically, it has become one of my favorite design details in the entire house.

You Might Decide To Change Your Wedding Color Palette After Seeing THIS.

Can I go back in time and change my wedding color palette to this?! It is the juiciest combo of (as coined by the vendor team) beer, amber, mustard yellow, burnt orange and soft pale pink—all inspired by the venue. Brought to life by EVENTISTA and Inspirito, I’m daring one of you to abandon your current color selection and go for this. It’s too good to go to waste. Let Stepan Vrzala convince you even more with these whimsical images.

This wedding photoshoot was inspired by the interior design of the venue itself. The hotel restaurant has been newly renovated and there are some beautiful copper features that makes the place unique. Copper lamps installed inside the restaurant that resemble brewery tubes are not installed there by chance. They refer to the long-term brewing tradition of the city of Pilsen. Therefore the florist used some flowers in earthy shades reminiscent the colours of beer, amber, mustard yellow, burnt orange and soft pale pink for more feminine touch.

With this colour palette in mind, EVENTISTA, responsible for the event styling started to work out their visions. Colours and interior design were the starting point for this editorial. We wanted to create a very unique and contemporary environment where elements with a romantic touch can stand out. The stationery, cake and decoration are pure sophistication, but without any kind of opulence. Unique picture world of photographer Stepan Vrzala shows us a wonderfully refreshing and heavenly carefree atmosphere.

This is How You Turn a City Hall Wedding Into a Magical Celebration

When most of us hear ‘city hall wedding’, we envision a quick and casual affair. But today’s celebration at San Francisco City Hall is far from hasty and basic… it’s magical to say the least, all thanks to Charmed Events Group, LLC. Dreamy blooms, a mauve color palette and whimsical reception made for one truly special day, all captured by Jasmine Lee Photography and Imperial Productions.

From Charmed Events Group, LLC… Allison and Marvin met as children in church and reconnected in their later years to find that they were soulmates. They’ve always felt that their story was like a fairytale and thus, wanted to use the Disney theme of “Live the Magic” to personify their San Francisco wedding. With a beautiful color palette of mauves paired with metal tones of silver, rose gold and gold, we set out to create a design that matched their personality and the ambience that they wanted to create for their day.

Everything about their venue choices was a nod to the ever so iconic landmarks of San Francisco. Their ceremony took place at the beautiful Saints Peter and Paul Church and their reception was held at San Francisco City Hall. For Cocktail Hour, we really wanted to bring out their theme of “Live the Magic” and created a custom, handpainted, watercolor backdrop that had individual, rose gold Rock Candy Crystal Sticks for guests to find their seat to. For the reception, we wanted to create a really upscale and sophisticated feeling for their reception and chose a neutral palette for the design and let the colors embodied from the flowers to bring out the desired mood and ambience. One of my favorite design components were the customized menus that we created for each guest that really added that extra special touch to each place setting…especially paired with those beautiful, diamond chargers! Pretty Please SF created a beautiful rose gold cake for the couple to cut into and of course, their first dance was set to the Disney theme song “Live the Magic” to complete the evening.

From the Bride… Marvin and I met when we were 16 years old at our church’s youth group however started dating in college. Through college and the start of our  careers we always reminded each other to DREAM BIG, in all aspects of our life. In November of 2015, Marvin popped the question in front of all of our family and friends at the Union Square ice skating rink in San Francisco, the perfect spot, in our city.

We definitely dreamt big, this wedding was 2 years in the making. If I were to choose words to describe our day they would be: Traditional, Elegant, and Glam with a hint of Disney Magic. It was important for us to respect the wishes of our parents and chose to have a traditional Filipino catholic ceremony involving all members of our immediate and extended family at the beautiful St. Peter and Paul’s church in San Francisco.

Frances was just a godsend to us, from the minute we met her we knew she was the only one who could make our dream wedding come to life. She described me as her “unicorn bride” because I continuously asked her to find me something “different” and “hasn’t been done before.”

The day was perfect, Marvin was in tears watching our family and wedding party walk down the aisle in support and celebration of us. It was truly an unforgettable moment when I got to the altar with my parents at my side, and Marvin waiting for me. My dad took my hand, gave it to Marvin and with
tears in his eyes said, “take care of my daughter.” Of course we all had lost it at this point and was all crying.

For our reception, Frances captured all aspects of our elegant, glam and hint Disney soirée with her beautiful design, hidden mickeys, and the words “Live the Magic.” As huge Disney fans, Disneyland and the nightly 60th anniversary fireworks titled “Live the Magic” was our weekly date spot while living in Los Angeles. The theme song from this fireworks spectacular was the obvious choice for our first dance.

We couldn’t imagined a more beautiful day and start to the rest of our lives together.

A Champagne Cart Is Officially the Only Way to Pop Bubbly at Your Wedding

The minute we saw these stunning sun-kissed photos from Lauren Fair’s workshop at Green Door Gourmet in Nashville, we were in head over heels in love. We don’t know if it’s the feminine color palette of yellow, pink, lilac, linen and honey or the ethereal Monique Lhuillier gown or the trendy champagne cart – but something about this editorial designed by RSVP Events just keeps us coming back for more. Take one look at Melissa Broadwell’s unfinished arbor and you’ll totally get it. But that’s enough out of us, go see for yourself…

From Lauren Fair PhotographyStealing kisses beneath the trees with your love, the warmth of the sun, lying in a field of wildflowers. Inspired by softness and femininity, our team dreamt this sun-kissed editorial to capture the feeling of a summer romance. Hues of bright pink, peach, and happy yellow are softened by hues of linen, blush, lilac, and hints of honey create a color palette of femininity and warmth.

Our editorial takes place in the fields of Green Door Gourmet amid a sea of yellow wildflowers, the intimate ceremony framed by a broken arbor by Melissa Broadwell, lush with lavender clematis, distant drum roses, jasmine, butter yellow roses, and peach lisianthus. Our bride’s hair is adorned with fresh blooms, and she wears Amie by Monique Lhuillier, a silk sheath gown with an embellished tulle plunging illusion v-neck with flutter sleeves and a sweet velvet bow at her waist.

Her bridal shoes, embroidered lace mules and luminous pearl heels tied with silk bows by Bella Belle Shoes, are perfectly ladylike, adding a feeling of sweetness. Fluttery French lace lingerie makes up her trousseau, with a romantic French Chantilly lace skirt. Our paper goods by Ink & Press Co. Are the perfect first impression, with romantic gold calligraphy, deckled edges, botanical gold wax seals, and a floral envelope liner, and the scrolled place cards add a hint of elegance to each place setting. At the reception, ivory candles dot a buttery linen, with blooms spilling from footed brass vessels.

Lilacs, ranunculus, poppies, clematis, snap dragons, peach parrot tulips, and jasmine drape across antique crystal. Ivory chargers carved in feminine detail frame plates trimmed in lace. Menus are the sweetest blush hue and calligraphed in gold lettering, and accented with a sprig of clematis and jasmine, tied with a peach fluttering ribbon. You can’t go wrong with champagne on tap!

In addition to the champagne cart, the bar featured two signature drinks: Love Potion with prosecco, blackberry syrup, and thyme and a Raspberry Champagne Float with raspberry sorbet, champagne, and fresh raspberries.

A Romantic Love Story 20 Years In The Making, Cue The Happy Tears!

If you’ve been looking for that next ‘Nicholas Sparks-esque’ love story, look no further! Today’s incredibly romantic nuptials, photographed by The Ganey’s (who pride themselves on capturing love that can move mountains,) showcases exactly that…a love story years in the making, so much so that the Groom held on to a ring for 20 years until he found the one! The stunning Nottoway Plantation was the venue of choice, filled with an array of oak trees and just the right amount of Southern charm for Angela Marie Events to do her thing! Emily Mayne Studios created a custom crest and invitation suite to set the tone for the elegant affair and The Plantation Florist sealed the deal with luxuriant arrangements throughout. We strongly encourage you to take a look below (and the full gallery here) and get lost in this captivating love story, that we can only hope will be a movie someday…

From The Ganey’sWe’ve had the privilege of documenting countless love stories, but there is something extra special about Cheryl and Michael’s. When Cheryl and Michael met, Cheryl (in her own words) was a control freak. She worked in corporate and had unbelievable quotas to reach. She found that helping people was her true passion, and would volunteer with numerous non-profits throughout the year. Michael, on the other hand, owns his own business. He’s a watchmaker. He’s never on time and “walks to the tick of his own clock.” With Michael’s help, Cheryl has learned to relax and realize that it will all get done – eventually.

When Michael and Cheryl met, neither of them were looking for love. One day, a coworker and good friend of Cheryl’s asked her to join him and his wife for Mother’s Day dinner. The catch was that it would also be a blind date for Cheryl. She agreed – and that’s where she met Michael – her coworker/friend’s uncle.

Cheryl never felt like she was a romantic until she met Michael. Michael has taught Cheryl that it is important to celebrate every milestone. They met on May 13th, 2012, and now they go on a date on the 13th of every month. They exchange cards every month, and Michael often surprises Cheryl with fresh flowers.

In 2017, Michael planned a trip for Cheryl’s birthday. He proposed to her as a pianist played a rendition of their favorite song, “What Are You Doing with the Rest of Your Life?” (which was also played during their wedding reception). He presented Cheryl with the most beautiful vintage (1920’s) platinum, diamond, and sapphire ring – a ring that he has owned for 20 years – just waiting for the right woman to give it to.

After nearly two years of planning, their wedding day was here. They picked May 13th, as it was the seventh anniversary of their meeting. Nottoway Plantation, filled with oak trees and Spanish moss, was the backdrop for their wedding ceremony. Cheryl had visited the plantation almost 30 years ago, and it stuck with her as a beautiful place to get married. The weather was perfect, which we were all thankful for, as earlier in the week it had poured – causing flash floods throughout Louisiana.

Cheryl and Michael envisioned their wedding day with vintage and formal touches. They reached out to Emily Mayne Studio to create a custom wedding crest that would make an appearance throughout their day. Emily’s work appealed to Cheryl instantly with the romantic, elegant, and vintage aesthetic. Emily even managed to incorporate their samoyed – Jake – into the crest! Needless to say, the custom invitation suite – complete with watercolor envelope liner with a sketch of the venue – set the stage for this elegant affair.

Cheryl wore jewelry that was meaningful to her on her wedding day. She had two watches – one for the ceremony and one for the reception (I mean, can you blame her – her husband is a watchmaker?) – that had been gifted to her by Michael. She also wore her custom dangle pearl earrings that Michael had gifted her on their five year anniversary. Her Essence of Australia wedding dress had custom touches to make it the perfect wedding day dress for Cheryl.

Michael wore a custom tux with a sophisticated white jacket for a southern vibe. Cheryl gifted him gold “K” cuff links. His boutonnière was a simple peony bud. Around his wrist, he wore a vintage Rolex. And, in his jacket, he carried his gold “wedding” pocket watch. He’s carried it with him at every wedding he has attended for the last 30 years! He also donned his great grandfather’s circular sunglasses to complete the look before the ceremony.

A small wedding party, with three attendants on each side, was filled with close friends and family. Cheryl’s daughter, Christine, was one of her bridesmaids. Michael’s son, Jeff, was one of the groomsmen. The ladies wore black sequined gowns from Sorella Vita. The groomsmen wore black tuxes.

The ceremony was held in front of the plantation home. An intimate ceremony with just 30 guests, every attendee felt as though they were truly part of the wedding day. Cheryl arrived for the ceremony by horse and carriage – and had her two sons walk her down the aisle. Her grandson, Hayden was the ring bearer. The couple couldn’t stop smiling throughout the wedding – and everyone was thrilled when they were declared husband and wife!

After cocktail hour, the guests made their way to the reception tent, where a champagne bar was waiting to greet them. The patio was complete with tufted vintage furniture and a fountain filled with florals. The fireplace mantle was covered with a floral garland and the couple’s crest. Inside the tent, everyone stopped to catch their breath. Three chandeliers of greenery hung above a black and white dance floor. The linens on the table were exquisite – with delicate patterns that accentuated the design without being flashy. Garlands and candles flowed down the center of each table. Every place setting had gold-rimmed chargers and plates, along with gold flatware. Menus from Emily Mayne Studio sat atop a pale lavender napkin. Angela Marie Events did a beautiful job styling the event to have just the right balance of vintage and elegant.

I would be remiss if I didn’t mention the incredible four-tiered cake with a cascade of flowers. The wedding topper showed the couple kissing over a vintage car – which is so fitting because of their love for vintage transportation.

Louisiana showed off with an incredible sunset as the guests enjoyed warm lobster bisque and fresh citrus-seasoned sea bass. During dinner, Cheryl and Michael sat by the quartet as they played their favorite song – the same one that Michael had playing when he proposed.

Everyone danced the night away with the help of the live band. Beignets were enjoyed as a late-night snack. The evening concluded back on the porch of the plantation home as everyone watched fireworks – the perfect capstone to an incredible day, for the most deserving couple.

This Home Could Write the Playbook on Colorful Living

It’s no easy feat to design a space that’s calm and cozy yet bursting with color. This Houston abode designed by Barbara Town hits the mark. Take a tour through this gorgeous space filled with texture and color, art work and beautifully executed bookshelves all captured by Laura Dominguez. It is guaranteed to give you that extra push to ditch the beige and walk on the colorful side.

This 100 year old home comes complete with original flooring, molding and archways. When blended with a soft, yet colorful bohemian design, this house comes to life and is perfect for this Houston family of 5. We created an overall design concept that gave this space a soft, sophisticated and finished look.

The client has a love for washed colors, subtle patterns and modern finishes (think Anthropologie meets West Elm). They had a handful of the core pieces, but needed help finishing up the four major downstairs spaces.

In the Family Room, we wanted to make this space feel just as special as the rest of the house, but being that this was a room that the family LIVED in on the daily, we needed to be careful with how many light colors we used.

Keeping the larger furniture pieces more neutral, we were able to pull in fun patterns and color with the rug, decorative pillows, artwork and accessories.

This beautiful bradded denim rug grounded the whole room and really pulled everything together. Along the long back wall we were able to give the family even more storage with this floating credenza, finishing off the space with colorful artwork and a few accessories.

This unique Dining Room includes not only space for dining, but has a small niche that is perfect for the kids table. Being that the client entertains a lot, we wanted to keep this space functional and fun.

The freshly painted white table and white molded chair allow for easy clean up, while the bright blue rug and gallery wall mixed with artwork and family photos add a pop of color.

The mid-century buffet and two lucite consoles create the perfect space to place trays of drinks or snacks while guests are over and allow for some fun accessories during everyday use.

This home has a long transitional entryway that is more like an extra wide hallway that had little wall space for furniture. We took a spin off of your traditional foyer table by adding a few accent chairs, a floor lamp, a few accessories and mixed it with large and colorful kilim rug and a fun gallery wall.

At the other end of the hallway, near the front door, we wanted to create a place to hang a few bags or coats, storage for the kids shoes and a mail drop. By adding a narrow chest to one side of the archway and a basket opposite it, we made this space not only functional, but stylish as well.

The Formal Living Room was another awkwardly long space that proved to be difficult to create a comfortable seating area. We ended up creating two seating areas, one with the sofa and accent chairs and another with the pair of teal chairs in front of the windows and their own small games table.

Adding a bookcase provided some much needed storage and the piano was a family hand-me-down that now creates a fun music corner for the kids. We also brought in some of the softer, washed tones that the client loves through pillows, drapery and accessories making this space feel cohesive as you move throughout the home.

Vibrant Colors, Ethereal Gowns and Lake Como = Italian Summer #WeddingGoals

What do you get when you combine the talents of an all-star vendor team, a villa in Lake Como, two couture wedding gowns and blindingly vibrant blooms? An Italian summer wedding DREAM! We’re in heaven over here with each capture by Oliver Fly Photography. With planning by Before the Moon and fleurs from Miss Rose by Perrine, this editorial perfectly blends French and Italian style, seamlessly incorporating details from each culture. Grab your sunnies and head on over to the full gallery to see all the inspo this bright, sun-soaked beauty has to offer.

From Before the MoonNestled in the foothills of the French Alps lies a lakeside Italian villa, unlike any other. Known as Villa Balbiano, this 16th-century palazzo set on the shores of Lake Como evokes a sense of timeless romance and provided an unforgettable backdrop to our wedding editorial shoot. Inspired by a fusion of French and Italian style, we incorporated design elements unique to both cultures, all while playing with color, light, and texture in a fresh and engaging way.

Our color palette was built around rich shades of rose, coral, ochre, and copper, all of which worked together beautifully against the villa’s cream exterior. Our vivid use of color was so foundational to the design because we wanted to showcase just how stunning vibrant color tones can be.

Of course, florals played an important role throughout the design, from the ceremony to the tabletop, and every moment in between. Our floral designer used a mixture of sweet peas, roses, orchids, buttercups, and eremurus for their saffron, mustard, and orange hues, softened by shades of dusty pink.

To work alongside the show-stopping florals, our cake designer created edible works of art for the occasion. Her designs included crystal glass added between cake layers for a heightened sense of drama, with handmade flowers adorning each and every layer.

As a nod to French culture within this charming Italian setting, we included Baccarat, the most renowned French manufacturer of fine crystal glassware. Baccarat crystal glasses, votives, and vases complemented the colorful florals on our tablescape, while also reflecting their tints and the surrounding light for a stunning effect.

Need the Perfect Place to Elope? Add the Sicilian Island of Salina to Your List.

As if I needed another place to add to my travel bucket list (this job is dangerous!)… along comes the beautiful island of Salina. A spot on the Mediterranean where local charm meets natural beauty, making for the perfect spot to elope. We have Amalfi SoireeSergio Sorrentino and Yana Schicht to thank for delivering said inspiration straight to our screens today. Since my list seems to be getting a little too long, I hope one of you will do me a favor and pick this spot as your own for saying I do.

From the planner, Amalfi SoireeWith its Mediterranean charm, beautiful beaches and unspoiled nature that dominates the seascape, the island of Salina (Aeolian Islands, Sicily) is the ideal destination for all the couples who want to combine the joy of the elopement with the pleasure of a honeymoon. A harmonious combination of bright blues, creamy whites and vivacious yellows was the inspiration for this editorial signed by Sergio Sorrentino and Yana Schicht and set in the suggestive hotel Principe di Salina, a location with typically Sicilian atmospheres where you can spend happy and relaxing stays, while you get ready for the “yes” or explore the surroundings on a Vespa provided by Rent Bongiorno.

After a moment of relaxation at the infinity pool, the bride, having removed the delicious Hamalfité swimsuit with majolica patterns, has worn a bridal gown with clean and soft lines designed by Silvia Moretta Wed Lab. A Linnèo suit in green raw silk was instead for the groom. The bridal accessories also included a sensual teddy in pure silk from Le Petit Atelier Verona, the criss cross heels in ivory silk by Bella Belle Shoes and the refined jewels with blue topaz and diamonds designed by My Golden Age Lab.

Lilly Fine Art Jewelry has provided a beautiful ring box in cobalt blue velvet and Aurora from Auca Design has created a gorgeous lemon-themed wedding suite, whose styling has been curated by Amalfi Soirée. Lastly, the team of Intrecci di Fiore e d’Arte has made the floral arrangements and set the table on the terrace, using fresh flowers likes yellow roses and buttercups, local fruits and freshly picked aromatic herbs. As the real couple is originally from Sicily we wanted to implement local tradition combined with a contemporary touch. One of the typical Sicilian symbol is the “Testa di moro” (Moor Head) which has been used for the table setting.

From the photographer, Sergio SorrentinoI’d been dreaming for a long time to put this editorial together, and its realization came in a perfect moment of my life. I wanted to express my love for Mediterranean lifestyle, with a touch of passion and focusing on the beauty of Southern Italy pearls. The raw nature of Salina, the beauty of its landscapes, the warmth of the people living there and the delicious food will really take a permanent place in your heart. My partner Yana was also of huge inspiration and help. Together with great photographs, she also supported me with lots of love and positive vibes.

Spark Your Wanderlust with this Designer’s Travel Inspired Home

Mint velvet sofas and layers of globetrotting details are incredibly pretty all on their own. But when they’re snuggled inside a 1920’s Los Angeles bungalow, it’s the stuff that dream homes are made of. Peek inside this bright happy space that Homepolish interior designer, Haley Weidenbaum, calls home. Plus, see even more captured by Tessa Neustadt in the vault.

Homepolish superstar Haley Weidenbaum and her husband Adam have traveled the world over, so when it came to designing their 1920s L.A. home, they pulled inspiration from their favorite destinations.

We both came to the realization early on that we wanted our home to remind us of a California boutique hotel with elements and influences woven throughout from places around the world we’d visited. This way, coming home would always feel like a getaway to both of us. Comfort was paramount but every piece, every material, every pattern, and every color was meticulously and purposefully chosen.

Living rooms should set the vibe for the whole house. Think interesting conversations, large gatherings, and good times! Pick a communal coffee table (this one is from one kings lane) , and comfortable seating. Finishing accent pieces and layered light will help complete the space.

We don’t plan on having a fire any time soon (thank you, California weather), so we have wood logs beautifully stacked in the fireplace.

Our home is comprised of an eclectic mix of diy projects and vintage and contemporary pieces from a variety of vendors. Many of our accessories, like textiles from Mexico, were acquired on some of our more recent trips.

A tv room should scream “come sit down right now,” but it doesn’t have to be too casual or messy. Make the room comfortable with a plush rug, soft leather ottomans, a deep sofa, and tons of pillows (thank you, pottery barn & house of cindy).

Art is personal so choose something meaningful. I choose a photograph taken by my own father (stephen rader photography) and framed it into a triptych using simply framed.

The contrast between the dark blue grasscloth and the white living room is just perfection.

Kitchen

I would say that these serena & lily barstools might actually be the most comfortable seats in the house… Because of its close vicinity to the yummy food i might be cooking up!

Fortunately, our kitchen came remodeled and was basic white. To give it some personality, i added a vintage kilim runner (durable enough for a high-traffic area) and replaced the hardware with knobs from anthropologie and pulls from pottery barn.

I spend most of my time in that kitchen nook because of the bright yet relaxing color palette. The large round rustic wood table from restoration hardware makes it the best spot for a huge sunday brunch! Local + lejos baskets hung on the wall give the dining nook space added charm.

We wanted the dining room to be an extension of the living room: inviting and welcoming. I kept it light and bright with the clear glass cisco home light fixture and st. Frank blue tulip suzani textile.

We used dining chairs from her old condo but gave them a new life by reupholstering them in stain resistant fabric from rose tarlow for perennials.

Does one ever get tired of bar carts? I think not! You can’t go wrong with rare bottles, colorful glassware, and decanters that make you look like a sommelier!

We love hosting so an inviting guest bedroom was key. Oversize pillows and a patterned duvet scream “Jump on in!”

Another DIY project: our vintage desk (which was light green) was striped down to the natural wood. THEN, my husband, Adam Weidenbaum, created the Lincoln drawing. Our very own Lincoln Bedroom for our guests!

We wanted something that would put a smile on anyone’s face and this pineapple wallpaper from Hygee & West does just that!

I kept our bathroom white so it would remain clean and fresh, but also included naturalistic and organic elements like the Pigeon Toe ceramic pendants and Rejuvenation bath tub caddy to give it a spa-like atmosphere.

The neutral earth tones are also reminiscent of a spa… think cedar and bamboo wood. Plus, the caddy makes for a handy place to place bonbons, champagne, a book I’m reading… even decorative shells!

We wanted our bedroom to be our oasis and remind us of our beloved vacations. I designed our bedroom to feel just like a hotel getaway, specifically our favorite the Ojai Valley Inn & Spa, but also incorporated textiles, art, and elements that were reminiscent of many of our other favorite hotels.

Our bedroom is unnecessarily large because they expanded the house into the backyard (hey, we aren’t complaining!). We added a sofa/sitting area, which elevated the hotel vibe we were trying to achieve.

My favorite DIY project was the framed Otomi textiles. We picked these up while visiting Mexico and had them framed by Simply Framed. Textile framing is HUGE right now, but also EASY to do yourself!

At first we had our room painted white, but after about 6 months of living/sleeping in the space it didn’t feel right. We went against the trend and went GREEN, Benjamin Moore Essex Green to be exact. I couldn’t be happier with the result and the darker color allows us to sleep longer hours!
