From Rach Loves Troy… Where do I even begin with trying to full put this day into words. Heather booked me over two years out from their wedding date and I knew from our first phone conversation it was going to be special.

These two were not only getting married and creating the ultimate bond with one another. Heather and RJ were building a family. They have 3 beautiful little boys who were involved in so so many aspects of their day in so many special ways. It was just perfect.

The inspiration behind the style and feel of the day for Heather goes back to a trip to Italy her and RJ took! They incorporated an Olive tree into their ceremony by having each one of them and their boys add dirt to the soil of the tree as their version of the united candle.

RJ spoke amazing vows to Heather as well as to the boys that didn’t leave a dry eye in the house and of course the backdrop of the vineyard made us feel like we had all transported to Italy to witness their wedding.

This Couple Pulled off the Sweetest Southern Micro-Wedding After COVID Drastically Changed Their Plans

One of the good things to come out of this pandemic (we’re trying to find the positive here, people), has been seeing how many couples have powered through and proved that love is definitely not cancelled. Today’s micro-wedding is a beautiful reminder that just because your wedding plans changed, doesn’t mean it will be any less meaningful or special. From Erin Wilson Photography… Erin and Ryan were amongst many many couples who had to change their big spring 2020 wedding plans due to COVID-19.

They had to make some major changes and decisions and decide to have a micro wedding with 10 people and get married on their original wedding date with plans to have a big reception later this year.

They were married with just their parents and siblings attending and it was the sweetest day. They had a mini-reception with charcuterie and champagne and cake. We absolutely adore this couple and are so happy they made the decision to celebrate in their own way during the craziest time this country has seen. It was the most perfect day.

This Stunning 15th Century Tuscan Venue Was Rumored to Have Been Designed by Michelangelo Himself

Classic elegance at a Tuscan villa with a hint of Hollywood glamour – I mean… need we say more? This gorgeous day is what destination wedding dreams are made of. With the help of Style A Wedding, the bride left no detail unturned when it came to decor. She even created her own handmade invitations, hand painted welcome signs and table numbers (and y’all know we love a good DIY) Check out the full gallery of dreamy Italian wedding inspiration – all captured by Kir & Ira Photography!

From the Bride… Being expats residing in Dubai, Myles and I where in search of a destination Wedding venue that was easy distance for not only ourselves and friends in the middle east but also our UK based family and friends back home. We fell in love with the Tuscan landscape and with our favourite food being all things Italian is wasn’t a hard sell once we found the beautiful, Villa Mangiacane. Once the residence of ‘The prince’ author Niccolo Machiavelli and rumoured to have been designed by Michelangelo himself, Villa Mangiacane was teaming with history and romance and we knew it had to play host to our wedding festivities.

In addition to the wedding day we hosted a pizza and Prosecco welcome dinner for our guests and a poolside BBQ to cure the hangover post wedding day. When planning the wedding we wanted to create something that was timeless, classic and elegant. Our main goal was to give our guests a real chance to escape the mayhem, let their hair down and fall in love with the rolling hills like we did. With the breath taking views and giant pink structure taking centre stage of the scene we decided to use simplistic decor with a muted palette of grey, green and white which really complimented the surrounded olive groves.

We wanted to add a touch of old Hollywood glamour with our attire, Myles choosing a White Tux and I, a custom made made mermaid dress by Riki Dalal. Myles struggled to find a wedding band he liked so he took some old gold cufflinks he had inherited from his deceased grandfather and had them transformed into a wedding band that he adored. Villa Mangiacane is full of beautiful antiques, unique sculptures and works of art. I made sure to feature these as part of the decor where I could. I also utilised items found in the estate such as wine barrels, corks and Persian rugs in the decor design. I love a bit of crafts and DIY so I threw myself into the the task of creating handmade invitations, hand painted welcome signs and table numbers. A truly tuscan feast, all sourced from the estate was served in the courtyard of the villa. A beautiful space surrounded by vines which once the sun went down was truly magical under the twinkling string lights . Favours consisted of lemon-cello bottles and personalized chocolate coffee beans to keep guests Dancing all Night, which they certainly did! After a surprise Italian opera singer performed our first dance, guests witnessed a huge fireworks display from the loggia in the villa (signaled by the cut of the cake!) before commencing an all night cellar party complete with International DJ. It really was an absolute dream come true!

You Won’t Believe This Was an Actual Real Wedding at Fioli Gardens!

After scrolling through the endless amounts of beauty from today’s romantic affair at Fioli Gardens, captured by Amanda Crean Photography, you’ll understand why we did a total double-take when we saw this was an actual real wedding. To be honest, we’re still having trouble believing it – it’s just too perfect, thanks to the planning and design squad at Bustle Events. From the bride’s fashion-forward style to Amanda Vidmar’s floral magic, they’re so much to love about this day. Head on over to the full gallery to see it all!

From Bustle Events… Filoli Gardens was the most perfect setting for the couples vision of creating a modern twist on old money. The Gardens grounds is full of lush rose gardens, apple orchards, tulip meadows, historical brick mansion, expansive pool, pool house, sunken garden with pond and so much more. This property rivals none other.

The evening started with the guests being welcomed with passed champagne. The ceremony took place in front of the iconic historic mansion entrance. The bride walked herself down the aisle to greet her groom. Following the ceremony guests made their way to the sunken garden for cocktail hour where Paula Le Duc Fine Catering & Events served up hand crafted cocktails and enjoyed unique and delicious bites. Shortly after mingling with friends the guests were invited to dinner.

Long tables with delicate white embroidered linens filled the lawn next to the pool. To create the layers of luxury we layered abalone chargers and dinner plates topped with a golden velvet napkin. The beautiful floral menu adorn with wax seal affixing the calligraphed place card. Rustic brass flatware flanked the setting. The floral created by Amanda Vidmar was full of rich deep and moody shades of purple, orange, white, burgundy and yellow. After dining under the sunset guests danced the night away under the stars.

This Effortlessly Romantic Editorial Will Have You Rethinking Your Definition of Wedding Flowers

When we realized the floral design by Gather Design Company of today’s editorial was made entirely of dogwoods… our jaws quite literally dropped to the floor. The results couldn’t be more breathtaking, and surprisingly so timeless! Pair that with wood-handled flatware, a dusty navy and white striped table linen under a grapevine covered terrace – yup, it’s all just too good. From Callista & Company… Inspired by the intersection of sleek, minimal design, and the old world charm of The Corson Building, Callista and Company and Gather Design Company worked together to design a fresh look in a well-loved space. We wanted the design to feel effortlessly romantic, but also attainable. For the floral design, Amy worked entirely with dogwoods to create a design that was simple and clean but still lush and natural.

The arch was designed to look like the dogwood branches grew up and onto it. It was surrounded by a half-circle of bistro chairs and an aisle lined with dogwood arrangements to set the scene for the ceremony. Dogwoods elegantly adorned the berry and buttercream cake created by Honey Crumb Cake Studio.

The reception was set under a grapevine covered terrace and featured white ceramic plates, contemporary wine glasses, wood-handled flatware, and a dusty navy and white striped linen from La Tavola. Hanging lanterns added a festive glow to the space. The menus created by Kelsie Malie brought together romantic calligraphy with a modern typeface. This old and new combination was echoed in the rest of the paper goods, as seen in the intricate drawings of venue, the couple’s family crest, and handmade vow books.

The bride’s attire featured the deceivingly simple Alexandra Grecco ‘Cohen’ gown. What at first seems like a clean sheath reveals a fluttery cape that catches light and movement in the most feminine way. Yessie Libby created an elegant reception look with a soft updo and natural makeup, and a fun reception style by letting the bride’s hair down. The engagement ring was designed by Ashley Zhang Jewelry and featured an elegant Asscher cut diamond. The couple escaped into the evening in a vintage convertible.

Summer Kissed Wedding Inspiration at Mint Spring Farms

That DRESS, these dreamy images from Ashley Rae Photography, and those ultra-feminine blooms by Janna Brown Design Co – this garden inspired editorial is summer wedding heaven. Seriously, if I could re-do my entire wedding day, it would look exactly like this. From Ashley Rae Photography… The design of our editorial at Mint Springs Farm was inspired by the tone of a single rose. This Distant Drum rose grew our palette to an array of warm tones, which we used in our a garden-inspired editorial, with the flowers at the forefront. Our bride’s gown, by Alon Livne, was complemented by a delicate lace veil by Girl and a Serious Dream, which together created magic in the afternoon sun. We utilized a charming greenhouse for portraits that further enhanced our garden aesthetic. Our tablescape was built of luxurious fabrics and modern touches, nestled beneath wild blooms.

Our paper goods were designed to pair with the mauve palette and adorned each place setting. The rolling Tennessee hills provided a beautiful backdrop for final portraits and a panoramic view of Mint Springs Farm. The location was perfect for the romantic summer sun-kissed nuptials.

How to Serve Up a Serious Dose of Style With Your Wedding Bar Design

If we’ve learned anything about weddings in this weird time, it’s that although, logistically, there are a lot more rules to follow, in actuality, there are no rules anymore. Microweddings, minimonies, and elopements have become the new norm, and though we thought weddings couldn’t get any more personal in the year 2020 – oh snap, it’s happened. Not only do we not hate it, we’re TOTALLY here for it! An intimate wedding may not boast a big guest list, but is not without jubilation and gratification; especially, because it only takes two people to raise a glass and tailor up a toast (we’ve been home for 4.5 long months with our significant others, sometimes it doesn’t even take that many 😉).

In any case, today we thought it’d be fun to imagine all the ways you can pump some serious spirit into your wedding bar design. While you might not have a master mixologist on tap to help with the pours, you can still get your drink on in a very festive and fancy way, and it doesn’t have to be extra formal either. Craft beverages can be down and dirty and still do the trick! Just as long as you add some gorgeous garnishes, your bar will become one of the biggest statements of your special day.

We’ve always had a special place in our hearts for bubbly mobiles and tipple-hauling trailers, but they’ve become an even bigger trend in the world of backyard weddings and al fresco fetes. Today’s stunning editorial captured by Lace and Luce, was inspired by European perfume advertisements in the 1920’s – I mean, how cool is that? Toast Events brought their vision to life with every thoughtful detail, including crystal etched and antique perfume bottles as favors and a DIY Parfumerie bar where guests could create their own personal scent. From Lace and Luce… Inspired by the Art Nouveau era perfume ads, we desired to create an editorial to radiate the change of the season from Spring to Summer.

Wanting to use the idea of fragrance and how it evokes memories our main elements consisted of highlighting the abundance of arching florals to the essence of our delicate blooms creating fragrance in form of a parfumerie infused shoot.

Careful attention was made in the creation of crystal etched and antique perfume bottles as favors, a DIY Parfumerie bar where guests could create their own personal scent, and an art-deco inspired hand painted floral canvas which resembled European perfume advertisement in the 1920’s.

Allow This Gorgeous Santorini Day to Make Eloping the Easiest Decision Ever

During this crazy COVID time, more and more couples are celebrating their special day with only their closest circle – or even just them two! The amount of stunning intimate affairs we’ve seen over the past few months has been a silver lining for us here at SMP. Secretly, we’re kind of excited for elopement style celebrations to continue when this is all over! I mean, how can you blame us when the results look like THIS?! We’re swooning over today’s cliffside ceremony in Santorini planned by Jennifer Fox Weddings. From Molly Carr Photography… Nicole & Chris are a US-based couple whose love of travel paired with their adventurous spirit brought them all the way to the sun-drenched, idyllic island of Santorini, Greece to celebrate their elopement wedding. The mood of their elopement was gentle, intentional, gracious and romantic… Elegant and sophisticated… A coming together of two people whose love and appreciation of nature just accented the majestic beauty of the Cycladic island. This was a major inspiration behind the design and feel of their wedding. They specifically chose Oia because of its picturesque beaches, its tranquil feeling of romance and its breathtaking sunsets.

The overall design inspiration was taken from the multicolored hues of the ethereal sunset. The sunset in Oia is full of so many pastel hues that it’s reminiscent of rainbow-colored sorbet! Their ceremony took place on a private balcony at Oia Canaves Suites that looked out over the Aegean Sea. Instead of having a classic arch which would have obstructed the view, they chose to have a grounded horseshoe arch to stand in the middle of while exchanging their vows.

With beauty by Harold James Hair & Makeup Artist, Nicole looked like a Greek-goddess in her Elizabeth Fillmore gown, draped in the finest silk that perfectly reflected the majestic Santorini light. The custom calligraphy and stationery pieces were oh so dreamy. Shasta Bell Calligraphy lovingly created everything from the Greek island illustration down to the custom-made box which beautifully presented each of the handmade paper goods. Early on in the planning, Chris secretly reached out to their wedding planner, Jennifer Fox of Avec Weddings and Events, and asked advice as to how to surprise Nicole.

They came up with the idea of a handwritten love note that she would discover when they sat down for their wedding dinner. Needless to say, it was a slam dunk, and there was not a dry eye in the house! Once at their dinner venue, Mystique Hotel Santorini, the balcony was all dressed up for their private dinner for two. Glass urn lanterns were used to give the space a more organic ambiance and lemon yellow colored candles adorned the table. Each place setting was designated by a shell with the couple’s first name as well as the love note on each plate. Seafoam colored linen napkins were gently tied to accent the marble dinner plate and contemporary flatware. The finishing touch was a stunning floral arrangement that perfectly complemented the pastel-hued sunset, designed by Betty Flowers Santorini.

Exclusive Château De La Gaude Wedding Inspiration, a Provence Venue Never Seen Before!

Ever dream about tying the knot in the South of France but have no idea where to start looking for a venue? Well, you’re in luck. Because we just found Provencal heaven and its called Château de la Gaude; a newly renovated 17th century chateau. It’s truly the perfect mix of french luxury and countryside charm fit for a destination wedding of any style. From White Eden Weddings… If you have ever been in Provence, you know how many gems can host your destination wedding in the South of France. What you probably don’t know is the Château de la Gaude; this Provencal heaven was built in the 17th century near Aix-en-Provence and has just been renovated. The wonderful team of the Château opened its doors to our creative team in order to design and host an event set-up, and tell for the very first time the story of a destination wedding at the Château de la Gaude.

The wedding venue defines the frame of a destination wedding, and can be – when as beautiful as this French Château – the central focus and source of inspiration. Never seen before on a wedding set-up, the Château de la Gaude has been a major piece of a consistent puzzle, designed to embrace the very French authenticity of the Château and its gardens twisted with the fashion, timeless and bold touches brought all together for this perfect summer day in Provence.

Magnificently captured by the talented Oliver Fly & MG Image, our refined interlude in Provence shows how from a romantic love story can result a tailor-made luxury french wedding experience, filled with details, infused by the South of France and providing lifetime yet different memories.

Speaking of memories, we truly believe that a bespoke welcome bag is the perfect attention to warmly welcome your close ones. This one was made of local treats, a bottle of Rosé wine from the Château, fresh florals. You said « details »? Wait for the best, these provencal bags were hosting hand made edible paper flowers created by Made in Cake and packed in individual boxes made to measure by Crème de Papier and stamped with the graphics of the Chateau’s french gardens.

As destination wedding planners & designers, we anticipate the styling as the answer to several questions. How to embrace the couple’s style? What does it take here to create a refined & consistent experience? How to make sure that every part of the celebration will be remembered for the best? Most of these elements are very personal on weddings, and this editorial was the best occasion to bring creative answers.

Now that the guests were infused with Provence and especially this little heaven that Chateau de la Gaude is, we wanted to design an organic, simple and classic ceremony set-up. We chose to go with a lush start of the aisle, with compositions of diverse white flowers to pop-up from the grass of the gardens and match the amplitude of the three meters high arch, beautifully designed by the very talented Miss Rose by Perrine.

The color palette and soft tones have been chosen in order to give a timeless & extremely refined base to the design. While being consistent with the environment of the Château, the colors were contrasting with the green of the french gardens but matching the softness of the château’s facade providing the necessary consistency on a wedding design.

The bold part of the styling surely was the black details (mostly brought thought the table setting & candle holders) enhanced by delicate black berries & fruits displayed on the head table. In order to balance these black tones and provide some softness to the overall, Perrine has incorporated little touches of cream and soft pink, in her gorgeous florals, themselves perfectly matching the bespoke menus and the floral napkins.

We went on a little bit more classic style for the guests’ tables, with two distinct scenarios, playing with textures and patterns but keeping the same colors and consistency with the florals and table setting.

The beautiful wedding cake, designed by Made in Cake, was incredibly delicate and matching the softness of the overall styling. Displayed on a velvet linen, the scene truly gave the impression that this piece of art was preciously floating above the gardens.

The Secret to Making a Major Statement With Your Reception Decor

Truth be told, once the COVID-19 catastrophe came into our lives, we had some trouble with the word “reception” (and all of its semantic cousins: event, party, soiree, etc.). Social distancing protocol and guest count restrictions have a way of doing that – making a wedding reception sound kind of like an oxymoron, right? But we’ve since changed our tune, because couples are celebrating their love just as powerfully as they would have during pandemic-less times, no matter how many people are present at said party! This Wedding Proves That When It Comes to Wedding Decor – Sometimes Opposites Attract!

Well folks, it looks like opposites attract in love and weddings. The bride is all about simple, understated, classic. The groom? Quite the opposite! So, lucky for them, the planning wizards at Event Bliss Design knew exactly how to combine the two styles to create an effortlessly elegant day, with a subtle dose of extravagance. From Alee Gleiberman Photography… Vanessa & Carlos chose The Betsy Hotel on Miami Beach for its beauty and modern design. The Betsy is a classic gem on South Beach that kept all of its Miami Art-Deco charm. They have a gorgeous rooftop where Vanessa & Carlos said their I do’s. Their reception space is a modern courtyard full of endless possibilities for transformation. They chose white florals mixed with a ton of greenery.

Farm style tables mixed with a mixture of wood chairs and modern clear back chairs were waiting for their guests for dinner. Vanessa is a lover of all things details and she spent a lot of love and time on picking out every detail involved in her big day. This was a destination wedding for these two New Yorkers and The Betsy was the best landing spot for all of their out of town guests to have the best Miami wedding experience they could have asked for!

From the Bride… It was so important that our wedding day represented us both – this was no easy task as we are so opposite! Carlos is Mr. Over The Top – he loves everything big and loud, just like his personality! Vanessa is the opposite – quiet, simple, understated, clean and classic. We chose The Betsy because it felt like a good balance of both, the Miami Beach flavor but still elegant and timeless. We LOVE going to the beach, it is one of our favorite things to do together. Our wedding/reception music represents us, too! Carlos is a born and bred Harlem boy (Newyorican) and Vanessa is a Dominican girl raised in Miami, so lots of Spanish flavor, lots of New York, lots of Miami in the room! Carlos will be entering the ceremony to Empire State of Mind (by Alicia Keys/JayZ).

Our parent dances will represent us as such – Carlos will be dancing Puerto Rican salsa with his mom, and Vanessa will be dancing a traditional Dominican Merengue with her dad. We are doing day-of gifts for each other, which we will send to each others getting ready spaces in the daytime. We have an after-party that is strictly 90’s hip hop from 11pm-1am in the BBar (downstairs lounge of The Betsy) with a pizza bar. This is inspired by Carlo’s Harlem/NY roots and both our love for 90’s hip-hop. Our favors are Guava and Cheese donuts from The Salty Donut, so that’s a little Miami flavor Our cake topper will be a little Superman and Wonder Woman couple to represent our geekiness – we love all things Marvel/DC Comics, Star Wars, Harry Potter- we love to geek out together!

The Perfect Blend of Rustic & Romantic at Brasswood Bar + Kitchen in Northern California

Today’s wedding in wine country at Brasswood Bar + Kitchen planned by Prim Event Studio is the perfect example of what happens when rustic style meets romantic details – creating one unforgettably inspiring day. Amanda Vidmar blew us away with her floral creations, from a blooming “un-finished” arbor to organic reception centerpieces complete with moody pops of pink. Lucky for us, we can live vicariously through the full gallery captured by The de Jaureguis.

From Morgan of Prim Event Studio… Brook and Harrison were married on May 11, 2019 at Brasswood in Saint Helena – the heart of wine country. This New York couple knew they wanted to get married in Northern California, where Harrison is from. After searching high and low, they fell in love with Brasswood and the modern rusticness of the space, and the idea of bringing their guests near and far to such an iconic location in the Napa Valley. They were also looking for a venue with a grand aspect, and Brasswoods huge fireplace and oversized round chandeliers in the dining space did the trick! B + H met the new age way – online. They were engaged on their three year anniversary outside of the bar where they first met in NYC, and where they also shared their first kiss.

Harrison proposed with a handmade ring box out of an old book, reminiscent of another book he intricately carved out the middle of in a topographic pattern that he gave to Brook on their first anniversary with a gift inside — he is quite the romantic! Meanwhile, Brook is equally romantic, having always been the one her friends say “loves love” and has been chasing visions of what her dream wedding would be like. Needless to say, we needed to bring the romance to their wedding day and went with a vision of organic and natural romance to guide our design decisions. We selected light gray, shades of whites and cream, greenery and blush to pull through with wood and metal accents. Our stationery was very romantic with a luxe organic paper featuring hand torn edges, paired with a modern and whimsical script font and delicate graphic leaves that felt reflective of wine country and springtime.

The hand torn edges played up both a natural feel as well as romance. We utilized wine bottles with guest names and tables attached to the front which felt like a natural decision, considering the location they selected to get married. Brook’s wedding dress was extra special by allowing the full skirt to be removed before kicking off the dancing. With Brook’s style more feminine, we selected a light pink for the bridesmaids dresses and a complimentary navy blue for Harrison and his groomsmen. Our florals also changed progressively throughout the event – starting with all personal florals all white blooms, moving into the ceremony guests were greeted with a beautiful fountain full of blooms and a ceremony floral display that built on the white florals and now also incorporated shades of light pink and blush. As guests moved into cocktail hour and dinner, they were welcomed with even deeper shades of pink and the introduction of more colorful flowers to allow more playfulness.

Brook and Harrison had a dear friend officiate and another friend provide a reading. Guests were also invited to shower the couple with rose petals as B+H made their way back down the aisle and the petals were contained in cones of book pages, paying homage to the beautiful books Harrison had carved and crafted for Brook. During cocktail hour guests enjoyed a full bar and cocktails on the beautiful patio. During dinner, Brook and Harrison opted for a family style meal, catered by the venue, paired with a dessert bar and cutting cake from Thomas Keller’s Bouchon Bakery. Following dinner, B+H shared their first dance to John Legend’s “Stay With You” and an epic dance party ensued.

An Organic Lakeside Celebration in New York for the Sweetest Couple

For Nick and Kevin, an elegant tented celebration at their family’s lake house was the perfect recipe for their special day. And thanks to the planning wizards at Simply Beautiful Events, their wedding dreams became reality. Arena’s decorated their day in plum and evergreen blooms complete with two breathtaking living chandeliers, completely transforming their tented reception. From the Photographer… I met Nick & Kevin in Washington D. C. For their engagement session in the city that they call home. I love getting to know my couples personally but also in front of the camera before wedding day. Nick & Kevin’s wedding day was focused so much on their closest family and friends and I loved the inside scoop of hearing all of their stories before wedding day. Kelli, owner & lead designer at Simply Beautiful Events has planned weddings multiple times during this same first weekend in August for the same family at the lake, making Nick & Kevin’s wedding extra special. Building relationships is so important in the wedding industry. We want to create the most personal and beautiful day specifically for you and your loved ones and building a relationship strengthens that personal bond and brings in a trust factor. This was so evident on Nick & Kevin’s wedding day. Living in DC, they were planning from afar, but they had all their trust in Simply Beautiful events and the rest of their carefully selected vendor team.

From Nick… We met on an online dating app in December of 2015 (Like all good millennials do haha). Originally we talked about just hanging out together as friends because we both liked the other but thought of it as more of a “he’s a cool guy that would be a great friend”. After chatting for a week we planned on hanging out. On our first “date” we went out for tacos and played Super Smash Brothers! We dated 2 years before I popped the question. I planned to propose on my birthday weekend when we were spending the weekend up in Rochester with some of our closest friends. After getting all of our friends together, I decided to wake Kevin up from his nap to come out and hang out with us.

Our friend group is very into “Icing” each other with Smirnoff Ices, so as soon as he came out I Iced him. Everyone had a good laugh and Kev was about to be a good sport and drink the Smirnoff but before he could I said “It’s only fair that if you are going to get down and take a Knee that I will too” and then popped the question! Our engagement lasted a little over a year. I didn’t really have a vision of our wedding day but I knew that I wanted the color scheme to be dark purples and evergreens and that I didn’t want a lot of flowers but wanted more greenery. Kev was great because he was happy with what I was envisioning for our wedding. We ended up having about 130 guests which I think was the perfect size for us! We both agreed on our lake house for a few reasons. 1 – The lake has always been really important to my family and when I think of going home I think of going to the lake

2 – The majority of both our families live in NY so it just made sense to have a centralized location. Some of our favorite wedding day moments were spending the morning together with the wedding party getting ready, it was a great time to just hang out and enjoy each other’s company. Another favorite moment was having our family portraits done. It’s rare that we get to have both families in their entirety (since many live all over). I also loved the best man speeches. My best man Bob has been my best friend since the 6th grade so it meant so much to me that he was there and did a trip down memory lane. I know both Kev and I agree that our Mother-Son dances were important to both of us. And although the dancing was so much fun, I think getting to go out on the boat at sunset to get pictures done and being able to see the whole tent and party really made it special and gave us a moment to appreciate it all. I think the best advice I could give to couples that are planning now is to make sure you are listening to advice/suggestions, however at the end of the day, this is supposed to be about what you two want and how you want to celebrate.

Spaces Don’t Have To Be Big To Be Bright

Editor’s Note: There’s so much style packed into this tiny space it’s almost UNFAIR. Like seriously every square inch of it proves you don’t need thousands of square feet to highlight good design choices. Oh and try not to let your jaw just hit the floor when you see the view from the living room. *heart eyes*

Location: This 500 square foot apartment above a 2-car garage is located in downtown Jackson Hole, WY at the base of Snow King Mountain, which is the beautiful view out the living room window as seen in the photos.

About the Owner: The apartment is owned by Paul Kinnard, a contractor and the best man in our wedding. I met Adam, an architect who became my husband, when I moved next door to the first house he and Paul built together. It turned out we had more in common than our red hair – I’m an interior designer. Fast forward several years and projects later, and Adam, Paul and I purchased this property together with the intention of dividing it in two, which we have since done. Together, we first designed and built this garage apartment, which now belongs to Paul. Paul was kind enough to let us live in the apartment while we all three worked on restoring a historical cabin from 1936 next door. Once our daughter was born and the construction was finished, Adam and I moved into the cabin.

Design style: Despite having divided the property, the two structures which are adjacent, speak to each other. We love the balance of old and new, which is reflected on the interiors as well. I would describe our aesthetic as ‘clean and collected’. Since the apartment was new construction, we juxtaposed that with several antiques. The kitchen table was found at a local thrift store for $20 and is the perfect scale for the space. Because of the drop leaves, it serves as a console or dining table. The living room chairs are original mid-century modern. They are perfect for the small room because they feel light but were comfortable enough to become our favorite spot to sit and watch skiers come down the mountain during cocktail hour.

Inspiration: Our inspiration for the project was all about making the most of a small space that is functional but feels very charming. Because the kitchen is concise and open to the living room, we decided to panelize all of the miniature-sized appliances. The fireplace is a focal point and it was important to us that it be wood burning. Adam and Paul love to cut wood in the fall, so luckily there’s never a shortage of firewood. I have the fondest memory spending Christmas in this small apartment, playing cards by the crackling fire. The sconces were a great addition to the plaster fireplace as they create great ambient light. In the bedroom, we built in Ikea dressers which were cost-effective and functional. The closet doors are integrated into the tongue and groove paneling so that it reads as a solid wall.

Process: We established Third Wheel, LLC in 2016 and first went to work on designing the garage apartment. Adam and Paul built the structure themselves on nights and weekends. I was in charge of finishes, furnishings, and sandwiches for lunchtime. The finishes are simple but refined. We went with basic tile but allocated more for lighting, which instantly elevated the space. Even if you’re planning on living in a space temporarily, there’s no reason not to design and furnish your space to the best of your ability. Look for plug-in sconces, great shelving, or beautiful outdoor planters that will give your space a custom look that’s not permanent. A lot of blood, sweat and tears went into building this little apartment and we are lucky we still get to enjoy it since it’s right next door.

Dreaming of a Wedding Destination That Feels Like a Real-Life Fairytale? Look No Further.

Italy and France are completely amazing, we all know that… but if you ask us, Portugal is one of the most underrated wedding destinations out there. For today’s editorial, StudioVictorias and Malvina Frolova were inspired by the beauty and diversity of Portuguese landscapes – stunning beaches, broad vineyards and ancient castles. Speaking of castles… we can’t get over how gorgeous this venue is. StudioVictorias said it best, it’s like “a fairytale palace in the middle of an enchanted forest.” Head on over to the full gallery to fall in love with the refined elegance and beauty of Portugal.

From Malvina Frolova… Dreaming of a wedding destination that feels like a real-life fairytale? Look no further. Portugal is a country of endless inspiration. The beauty and diversity of Portuguese landscapes are impressive: 800 km of stunning beaches, broad vineyards of the Douro Valley, amber cork fields of Alentejo, lonely lighthouses, ancient castles, and royal palaces. And the idea of this editorial shoot was to create an inspiration capturing the refined simplicity of the country itself combining it with an old-world European aesthetic and modern elegance. A former royal palace in central Portugal sets the scene for this editorial shoot, created by Portuguese wedding agency StudioVictorias and beautifully captured by fine art photographer Malvina Frolova.

This magnificent palace of the Portuguese monarchs was built in the unique Neo-Manueline style and now is now turned into one of the most beautiful historic hotels in the world. From StudioVictorias: “A fairytale palace in the middle of an enchanted forest” would be the best definition of this venue. The palace is a genuine ode to romanticism, enclosed in the uniqueness and beauty of its interiors, the exceptional framing of the landscape and the grandeur of its eclectic facade. This is a real architectural fantasy with an atmosphere of mystery, surrounded by gardens with exotic trees from far corners of the Portuguese Empire. We brought together a talented team of international vendors to inspire the couples from all over the world to celebrate the wedding in the real royal palace, where the atmosphere of the luxury of the past days is intertwined with the romance of the present.

We wanted to maximally show all the possibilities of this unique historical venue in the heart of Old Europe. Despite the grandeur of the palace located in a dark mysterious forest, we wanted to create a very light and charming project that could convey the sensuality and tenderness of our couple in love. And as it seems, everything worked out perfectly. In Bussaco Palace any girl instantly turns into a princess. The feminine style of boudoir sets for the morning of the bride, the minimum of accessories, natural makeup and loose updo make her a true embodiment of sensuality and tenderness. The bride’s embroidered lace wedding dress from Vanila Studio and minimalist earrings from OlgaDelice added aristocratic elegance, while a delicate bouquet in an airy garden style complemented her sophisticated look.

A classic sharp-looking suit from Penhalta fashion house and accessories from the Portuguese designer Maison Nuno Gama were selected for the groom. We intentionally supplemented the magnificence of the old palace and the wild nature of the region with elegant details of the decor and delicate looks of the couple, harmoniously combining the eternal and the modern. In the concept, we used soft pastel shades, from cold grey to warm beige and pale pink and complementing them with dusty yellow. For the ceremony area, floral designer Yana Metlinskaya created an asymmetric arch that harmoniously blends with the surrounding garden space and complements the intricate architecture of the palace. On the balcony of the palace, decorated with luxurious stucco work, a table for eight people was served. Modern gold cutlery and plates were remarkably combined with a heavy silk tablecloth, vintage wooden chairs and a floral arrangement in an airy organic style. The stationery designed by To Be Dream creates an exquisite modern look with handcrafted paper and a typical Portuguese pattern for the envelope. Elegance is added by hand-illustrated details like the drawing of the architectural elements of the palace. Gorgeous four-tier cake by Julie Deffence was created taking into account the general concept and decorated with sugar flowers matching a project’s color palette and handcrafted wafer paper with the same typical Portuguese tiles pattern. At the end of a romantic day, a vintage car was waiting for a couple to take them on their first family trip.

Vibrant Pinks in Provence – This Editorial Is Destination Wedding Heaven!

If you’re a Francophile like myself, then prepare to fall in loveee with today’s editorial at Château d’Estoublon in the heart of Provence, planned by Jennifer Fox Weddings. From the vibrant pink cascading blooms by Miss Rose by Perrine to jaw-dropping gowns, to the 1958 MGA Roadster getaway car – every detail from this day was très chic. From Jennifer Fox Weddings… A few months before the COVID-19 pandemic, I happened upon Château d’Estoublon in the heart of Provence. With over 500 acres of sprawling, manicured grounds that include an orchard, vineyards, a pond, and a rose garden plus the regal castle, in which each room is as grand as its spectacular facade, my imagination ran wild. I dreamed of the day I could design an event here. A few months later, the opportunity to create an editorial that honored the venue and its surroundings in partnership with the amazing destination film photographer, Oliver Fly, presented itself, turning my dreams into reality. Oliver is deeply passionate about Provence, he knows perfectly the light and turned it to his advantage for to create the best set of images ever.

Guests were greeted with a curated welcome box featuring olives, rosé wine, olive oil, and other signature products from the chåteau as well as cookies to match the cake, a locally made bar of soap, and a towel as a nod to the luxuriant pool on the property. Grey & Cake created a stationery suite featuring an illustration of Château d’Estoublon, a custom envelope liner featuring white anemones (the signature flower of the day), a lavender wreath on the menus, and a beautiful wax seal. Soft, handmade paper, inky calligraphy, and delicate silk ribbons resulted in a textural, layered suite that truly paid homage to both Provence and the venue. Vibrant pinks served as an unexpected color palette, with purple accents as a subtle nod to Provence’s most famous export. The color selection was serendipitous, as upon arrival at the Chåteau, I discovered a lawn full of bright pink rose bushes in full bloom in front of the staircase, which is where our ceremony took place.

Miss Rose by Perrine created a cascading, floral masterpiece to adorn the staircase railings, which popped against the creamy hues of the elegant chåteau and looked as if the florals had been foraged from the grounds. A simple arrangement featuring traditional, round-back Louis XVI chairs provided by Belounge, completed the ceremony set up. The groom arrived in a 1958 MGA Roadster by Provence Classics, wearing an elegant suit by Rives featuring a shawl collar and a beautifully belted jacket. Alejandra Nerizagal pulled the bride’s hair back in a romantic chignon, showcasing her dewey, natural beauty, highlighted with peachy makeup by Ylva Langenskiold. Top Bridal Paris provided an immaculately detailed gown, which showcased exquisite beadwork on the bodice, a plunging neckline and back, a flowing, light overskirt and coordinating cape, and a bold, beaded underskirt. A pair of Bella Belle pumps completed the look, with a sheer panel that complemented the skirt of the gown.

The bride and groom changed attire for bridal portraits by the pool. The bride wore a semi-sheer gown, featuring a bold feather bodice and illusion neckline, and we chose a long, birdcage-inspired veil to allow the golden hour light to shine through. Her look was topped off with a statement, wafer paper flower, designed by Made in Cake, while the groom donned an ivory dinner jacket. Guests enjoyed the chåteau’s rosé and white wines among the olive trees along with the signature cocktail – a Provençal Kiss Martini. Gin, Saint Germain, freshly squeezed grapefruit juice, and lavender combined to create a vibrant, refreshing drink that truly captured the beauty and feeling of the area. A long, rectangular table dressed in crisp, pure linens by Madame de la Maison was set with regal gold and white porcelain and crystal by Joli Bazaar for the intimate reception dinner on the chåteau lawn. Lavender taper candles, vibrant floral arrangements, and an abundance of local wine and olive oil completed the tablescape. At the finish of the perfect evening, guests enjoyed a slice of the pink olive oil cake – made using the chåteau’s production, of course – with poached apricots and rosemary cream.

A Breathtaking Castiglion Del Bosco Wedding That Will Have You Missing All Things Italy

As if we needed another reason to be missing Italy during these crazy COVID times, this wedding just made us fall even harder for Bel Paese (the beautiful country). Cypress lined streets, molten-gold patchwork, and sprawling vineyards surrounded the couple and their lucky guests at Rosewood Castiglion del Bosco, an 800-year old Tuscan estate. As you can imagine, it was magic from start to finish, all thanks to their talented vendor team, including planning by Caterina Majolo and blooms by Flowers Living. From Sotiris Tsakanikas… It’s easy to see how Tuscany makes one fall deeper, poetry has been written of its cucina, odes to its fashion and songs of its beauty. Bearing witness to Laura & Myles’ Castiglion del Bosco wedding -let alone capturing it- brought the same impromptu verbal reaction as any Italophile would probably have “La Magia” (the magic). Driving up the meandering, cypress-lined road to the Borgo, the historic heart of Rosewood Castiglion del Bosco, the 800-year old Tuscan estate which we’d rather thrillingly call “home” for the next days, it was obvious why the bride and groom had given the place double thumbs up for their big day.

It was molten-gold patchwork fields stretching out below towards Montalcino, sprawling vineyards mottled with olive-trees, and milky light in perfect sync with the rolling Tuscan terra. And that was only the beginning, as quite soon I found there’s so much more to it than wildly beautiful scapes. The couple’s villa at the Rosewood Castiglion del Bosco with its gentle rustic shades of ochre and flax, opened its shuttered windows to Laura’s preparations while guests were still enjoying their sumptuous colazione already laid out in the kitchen, apple pie, zucchini, homemade pastries and truffle-topped Tuscan bread with cold cuts from the farm.

The weather was turning right after the couple’s poolside first look, and although the ceremony took place alfresco by the ruins of the medieval castle that gives the estate its name, the reception was held indoors decorated with roses and in-season vegetation. Chiara and Massimo Ferragamo – the youngest son of Salvatore Ferragamo (yes, that Salvatore) – who co-own the Castiglion del Bosco make their genteel presence to congratulate Laura & Myles on their journey, while long dresses skirted the patio as the weather finally decided to oblige. Between champagne toasts and cake cutting, we congratulated the bride and groom again for having us bear witness to the bounty of beauty around. By the time we returned to the villa candles have melted right down to their base but as it turned out Laura & Myles had still one dance saved.

From The Bride… Myles and I met whilst we were still in secondary school together. We grew up in Skegness a seaside town in the east of England. I wanted to go to a concert at a seaside town on the other side of the country with my friend, a big adventure at the time as we were young with no transport, and somehow Myles was roped in to drive us, and I didn’t know him until that day. Since then we’ve been inseparable, spending every moment together over the last twelve years! We’ve grown through different phases of our lives, through college, and university, moving to London and starting our careers but our affection and reliance on each other is a constant in a world of change. We love to travel, and find joy in every day together. I’m always the impulsive one looking for excitement in the now, and Myles is the long term thinker ensuring we do all the things we dream up. Together we are a great team. Myles proposed in Manorola in Cinque Terre. It was a total surprise, but looking back on it now he was anxious in the build up! Typically Myles had planned ahead, but on the day he had to improvise as I had changed the plans. He got me up early saying he wanted to go and get some photos before the crowds, and we found a quite spot on the hillside, when I turned around Myles proposed. We spent the day doing some of our favourite things, hiking in the hills, eating gelato, and jumping in to the sea from the rocks.

Written by the bride… When Tyler and I started wedding planning the first thing we agreed upon was wanting an outdoor venue that felt like a unique destination to celebrate with our guests. We were in love with the Cree Estate in Palm Springs the moment we saw it. From the mature palm trees and giant succulents, to the perfect property layout for the flow of a wedding, we couldn’t love it more. We also loved that we were able to stay onsite with our close family and friends as the property sleeps 16. To enhance the beautiful grounds of the property, all colors, decor, and design elements were strategically chosen to bring our “modern boho” vision to life.

Our venue was a blank canvas and we had to bring everything onsite, which we loved as it allowed us to plan and execute our wedding exactly as we envisioned. To pop against the lush, green grounds, we chose magenta and hot pink with hints of blush and tangerine. All décor had a boho vibe, and we incorporated different textures and mixed gold, copper, brass, and rose gold metals to really bring in personality. We also created moody element by incorporating primarily black signage.

We wanted our wedding to be a day of celebration. From food, drinks, and desserts, to entertainment we wanted our guests to leave feeling like they truly had fun. Both our caterers were amazing, and our guests raved that it was the best food they’ve ever had at a wedding. We also had an amazing band that kept the dance floor going the entire time. Our family and friends totally surprised us with a flash mob, which had me in tears. Tyler and I closed out the night by jumping in the pool with our wedding party, which was the perfect way to end our celebration.

Unique aspects of our wedding day:

• During the ceremony we incorporated Las Arras, a Spanish Catholic tradition of 13 unity coins that represent an enduring marriage, and the Jewish tradition of breaking of the glass, which symbolizes life’s moments of joy and sorrow.
• We hand-stuffed small linen pouches with dried rose petals for guests to throw during the recessional, which was a great way for our guests to celebrate our nuptials.
• Most of our guests flew for our wedding so being able to give them a party favor that was small and easy to travel with yet personal and special was important to us. We tied a palo santo stick and custom matches that read “Come on baby, light my fire” to each name card on the table.
