Autumn Wedding in Victoria, Australia from Mihaja Photography

I’m just going to come out and say it: Fall weddings are my favorite.  I love the gorgeous colors, the crisp, cool air and the coziness that just embodies every single moment.  They’re beyond fabulous.  And this sweet Victoria soiree from Mihaja Photography?  Absolutely amazing with all of the aforementioned, plus the fab stylings of Two Birds Event Design and Styling and one of the most breathtaking settings you will ever lay your eyes upon.  Seriously.  See sooo much more autumn-hued goodness in the full gallery.

From the Bride… We got married in May this year which is Autumn (Fall) in Australia. We could never have imagined how spectacular the colours of the trees would have been at that time of year which really made the day and photos as you can see.

We were so delighted with the work that Two Birds Event Design and Styling did transforming the venue – Potters in Warrandyte, Victoria. The theme was country vintage which worked very well with the colourful backdrop.

Adam and I decided to see each other before the service and this is a precious memory for both of us which was captured in time by our talented photographers. We were married by Father Jack, the priest who married my parents 37 years ago. Before the service guests were provided with a magazine style ‘Wedding Record’ which Adam designed himself.

Ramona California Engagement Session from Shelly Anderson Photography

Oh that California light. It never fails to make me stop in my tracks to soak it all in. So snapping up a few shots in that magic hour, when the light just seems to sparkle, would be a no brainer to me. And I bet this couple is beyond glad they asked Shelly Anderson to do just that, capturing their engagement in a way they will treasure forever. See it all here.

From ShellyMike- gentle giant yogi with a passion for adventure, new foods, and helping others. Lizzy- a bright, bubbly, ray of sunshine who can see straight through anyone’s soul and believes positivity can solely solve all of the worlds problems. Together he is the calm to her craziness, and she is the light to his tranquility. Together Lizzy and Mike have traveled to all corners of the world, literally living out of suitcases and in strangers homes, evening WOOFing on farms! They now reside in San Diego with their rescue dog, Oso, who followed them home after their afternoon jog. They plan to settle down “for good” up north while opening a healing center for the soul, and will probably supply the center with their own food from their garden!

I have known Lizzy and Mike for a few years now and was THRILLED to photograph such love birds for their engagement session. They wanted their photos to be natural, simple, fun, and organic- just like their lifestyle. I decided to take them to two places. The first was a park nearby, since Lizzy and Mike LOVE nature walks. The second was my uncle’s back yard in Ramona, California at that magic hour before sunset. He has been landscaping in his backyard for a few years, and someone needed to give it the attention it deserves! These two can’t get enough of each other.

Sunrise Engagement Session from Jacqui Cole Photography

Sunset engagements sessions are oh-so-popular, but what about a sunrise sesh? It’s the forgotten one of the two, but after seeing this sweet shoot from Jacqui Cole Photography I’m thinking it might make a comeback. Because the images sitting in this gallery couldn’t be more stunning, and you can see every last one right here.

From Jacqui Cole PhotographyStrolling down Oak Street beach at 5am on a gorgeous summer’s morning Deidre, Ben and I captured their beautiful love in front of Lake Michigan. We opted for a soft, romantic and casual beach look to watch the sunrise and continue to head into the city for a more chic and elegant feel. Deidre and Ben instantly warmed up to the camera and were so natural in each others embrace. We wiped the sand off our feet and enjoyed the empty streets of Michigan Avenue, stopping at the Drake Hotel and Watertower Place.

Deidre and Ben met while at Ohio State University and continue their relationship long distance while Ben lives in Boston (hoping to come to Chicago very soon!) I am sure that part of the magic of this engagement session is the limited time this couple have to share and their inspiring outlook that they appreciate every minute they have together.

Deidre and Ben are a beautiful example of a stunning saying:Absence diminishes small loves and increases great ones, as the wind blows out the candle and fans the bonfire

Rustic Texas Wedding at Memory Lane Weddings from Kristi Wright Photography

I have this awesome habit of falling head over heels for Texas weddings.  One that I don’t see myself getting over anytime soon. Because when a sweet rustic meets vintage soiree like this darling Austin affair comes my way, it’s impossible NOT to find myself falling hopelessly in love.  Especially when that sweet rustic meets vintage soiree includes lush florals from Wild Bunches, a Wtoo masterpiece and all kinds of amazing imagery from Kristi Wright Photography.  See it all in the full gallery.

From Kristi Wright PhotographyKate and Zach are serious sweethearts. I met them last year at their friend’s wedding where I was also the photographer. Kate stopped me afterward to tell me about how she and Zach planned to have their destination wedding in Texas. They live in Seattle so we skyped and she told me all about their plans to have something fun for their guests – something that felt more like a backyard/home wedding – I was hooked. They had yard games and family style seating. It was so much fun.

Kate brought a little of the Pacific Northwest with her which can be seen in her details. The tables are named after some of the beautiful trees found in her neck of the woods. Other interesting details included the sash/belt she wore with her wedding dress that was adorned with the costume jewelry that belonged to her grandmother and that she had played with as a child. Each guest received a luggage bag tag with their name on it – so many people traveled far to go to their wedding – it was a perfect gift. I think my favorite detail is Kate’s tattoo of “Elijah Stapp” on her foot! “The tattoo is the signature of my great great great great (that’s four) grandfather from the Texas declaration of independence!” (the bride). I’m pretty sure her grandmother paid for it which makes it even cooler!

Sayulita Wedding from Captured by Aimee

If you need a little color in your day, you’ve come to the right place. Because this Sayulita soiree from the wildly talented Captured By Aimee is bursting with the kind of color that will whip a smile on your face in 2.5 seconds flat. It’s just a happy wedding, with two lovebirds in the center that couldn’t be more head over heels for each other. Oh, and there is a donkey. A super cute one, and if that’s not a good reason to dive right into this full gallery, I don’t know what is. See it all here.

From the Bride…While neither of us wanted our wedding to be  “traditional” or “conventional” we both agreed that we wanted our wedding to feel “special.”  We fell in love with the town of Sayulita the year prior, a magical hidden gem that exudes life, love, happiness and decided this would be the place for our wedding.  We set the tone with our vintage postcard Save the Date set on the Sayulita beach wearing giant Sombreros.  Our invitations were a papel picado motif and I had an illustrator, Samantha Sleeper, hand address each with its own unique design.

I got ready at La Gran Villa at Villa Amour, getting my hair and makeup done outside on the terrace with a 360 degree unobstructed view of Sayulita.  My Jenny Packham “Eden” dress was the most insanely beautiful thing I have ever worn.  Its head to toe beading with ornate cap sleeves were both romantic and decadent.  I felt like a walking chandelier!  Our first sighting on the patio was a moment I will never forget, then we spent the next hour with our amazing photographer Aimee of Captured by Aimee laughing and taking photos around the colorful streets of Sayulita, capturing the beauty of town.

My favorite moment of the day was our grand entrance.  I rode a beautiful white donkey, named Shakira, covered in bright paper flowers and John led us through the archway at Villa Amour where all of our friends and family were waiting for us smiling and cheering.  We led our guests in a parade to the ceremony while being serenaded by a mariachi band.

The ceremony and reception took place at Don Pedro’s Palapa, an open air thatched roof venue overlooking the entire Sayulita Bay. Our guests sat in a circle around us while our close friend performed the ceremony.  We felt it was important for everyone to have a front row seat and be a part of this moment.  After the ceremony John and I went to Playa de los Muertos to take photos, and stopped on the way for some pictures in the beautiful cemetery garden.

My vision for the reception was a colorful and romantic evening with a vintage feel. Gabriela and Guillermo of Marweddings executed my vision to perfection.  We filled the ceiling of La Palapa with pastel colored paper flowers and papel picado which made it feel festive, fun, and beautiful.   The table decor was my favorite detail!  We asked Gabriela to pick up different vintage plates for each of our 45 guests  at the local antique market. White linens covered with burlap table runners, and pastel flowers in mismatched flower vases spread across the tables made my vision complete!!!

Music was one of our most important details, so we hired an amazing band from Guadalajara, “Coco y Razo” who played a mix of 70’s, 80’s and current dance music while we danced the night away. The party exploded when John and I changed into traditional Mexican costumes, then had our guests join us wearing dresses, sombreros, braids, mustaches, and lucha libre masks!  Then we took turns swinging at the beautiful pastel piñata overhead and ate our favorite desert, red velvet cupcakes. We danced the night away under the stars while our guests “ooooh-and-aaaah’ed” at the surprise firework show drawing an end to our magical night…

Peachtree City Wedding from Claudia McDade Photography

You know why I love Georgia weddings?  This darling Peachtree wedding right here, aka, the perfect example of Southern awesomeness all wrapped up in beautiful imagery by Claudia McDade Photography. Because this is the kind of wedding that just screams Georgia elegance with lush florals from Sheridan’s Designs and a Flat Creek Country Club setting that will literally make your heart sing.  Oh, and the darling “can’t stop smiling” sweeties?  They’re amazing.  See so much more in the full gallery.

From the Bride… My husband Patrick and I met at Presbyterian College in small Clinton, South Carolina. We are both so proud to call ourself Blue Hose! Some of our fondest memories will always be playing college basketball and volleyball. After college we moved to Augusta, Georgia to pursue our masters degrees and continue to find Gods plan for our lives. Once we both finished school Pat finally popped the question and I couldn’t wait to start planning my dream wedding.

We decided to have a Spring wedding on a beautiful golf course in my home town of Peachtree City, Georgia. I have always wanted an outdoor wedding and after visiting the country club we both knew this was our venue. We loved the intimate feeling of the beautiful veranda over looking the golf course and the party to follow in the club house. Our wedding was a classic style with purples, pinks and grays. I was so blessed to have amazing vendors, and my talented mother, to help me make my dream wedding come to life.

Saturday was finally here! The weather was absolutely perfect, we could not have asked for anything better. The white wisteria hung over the venue and set the stage for a beautiful ceremony. Our family and wedding coordinators made the day go by so smoothly, it was stress free, and allowed us to take in every moment and focus on our love and commitment. Our families traveled from all over the country for our big day, so it was very special to have such a great celebration with everyone. We both had the best times of our lives, we wish we could do it over and over!

Nautical Marblehead Wedding from Ned Jackson Photography

Nautical weddings hold a special place in my heart. They are so perfectly New England, and their classic style always leaves me weak in the knees. And if I were to dream up such a fête, a wedding like this one from Ned Jackson Photography would pop in my brain. Sweeping views with sailboats a’plenty, a crisp color palette, and timeless style. It’s Nautical perfection, and you can soak it all up right here.

From the Bride…Mike surprised Kate in December 2011 with a romantic proposal at the W Hotel in Boston.  Before Kate was able to get swept away in the wedding planning they discussed what their vision of the wedding would be – classic, comfortable, and with a nod to Marblehead’s nautical surroundings. They also talked about what elements they could not live without – good food, an open bar, and music to get the dance party started.  Both Kate and Mike are from towns north of Boston, so it was a no brainer that they would marry in Kate’s hometown of Marblehead in the same church that her parents married in 31 years earlier.

To keep the day stress free and fun the girls gathered at the bride’s parent’s house for hair and make-up while the guys spent the afternoon hanging out at the Salem Waterfront hotel. The wedding ceremony took place in June 2012 at the beautiful Our Lady Star of the Sea Church. Kate and Mike’s mothers both recited readings and Keros Entertainment played beautiful music throughout the ceremony.  Once Kate and Mike had exchanged their “I Dos”, the bridal party boarded their trolley to Crocker Park, which overlooks Marblehead harbor, to take in the picturesque views – the perfect backdrop to for bridal party and family photos. We made our way back through the historic town to the reception at Tedesco Country Club where the cocktail hour was in fully swing. While listening to the live Jazz music, guest mingled on the outdoor patio overlooking the golf course and enjoyed the numerous passed appetizers, including Kate and Mike’s favorite – tomato soup with a grilled cheese crostini. Soon guests made their way towards dinner, which was held in a sail cloth tent illuminated by a canopy of white, baby blue, and chartreuse paper lanterns of varying sizes.

The bride chose navy has her primary wedding color with pops of green accents to bring in a little nautical feel. The navy table linens made the the lush flower arrangements in the center, really pop. The table numbers were navy and green and held upright by adorable nautical monkey-knots. During the delicious dinner of either filet of beef or locally caught baked haddock, Marblehead is a fishing town after all, Kate’s father, her sister who was also her Maid of Honor, and Mike’s Best Man gave heartfelt speeches. It was apparent how important friends and family are to Kate and Mike especially in light of the difficult year they had faced leading up to their wedding – one which brought on a serious and unexpected cancer diagnosis which Mike was able to courageously overcome with the support of Kate, his family, and friends who help him to always look for the positives in life. Both Kate and Mike felt incredibly lucky to have been able to share their wedding day with seven of their grandparents in attendance in addition to their families and close friends.

Kate and Mike’s warm and upbeat energy made everyone feel welcome all night. Kate was clearly happiest on the dance floor. After cutting the cake, Kate and Mike had their first dance to Ray LaMontagne’s ‘You Are The Best Thing’ followed by the father daughter dance to Frank Sinatra’s ‘Summer Wind’. The music kept the party going and the newlyweds had so much fun dancing the night away. Their wedding day could not have been more perfect and they feel truly blessed and happy to have been able to work with so many great vendors who made their vision come to life. It was a night they will always remember!

Martha’s Vineyard Wedding from Readyluck

There is a special spot in my heart reserved for weddings just like this one from Readyluck. The kind of soiree that is so sweet you can’t help but smile right along with every single guest. It’s filled with great little details that you know are just so “them.” And it’s got a special kind of love that just radiates. This is the kind of wedding that makes my heart happy.

From the designer… Well this was certainly the most sentimental mStarr wedding as my brother + my new sister-in-law tied the knot! The vineyard was really the only choice for the big weekend given their engagement took place at Kimmy’s parents’ house on the island and they spend a lot of time there. Andy + Kimmy wanted a wedding that reflected both the island’s laid-back, rustic style and desire for a wild party! It was an amazing celebration filled with personalized touches, a ceremony downpour, a rainbow, back door donuts’ famous apple fritters, photobombing doggies, a photobooth from our brother Jesse Starr Photography, and a dance floor that was packed {and I mean packed} during cocktail hour. The energy really carried through the entire night. Tt was a special experience both bringing Kimmy + Andy’s big day to life and serving as bridesmaid!

From the beautiful bride… Martha’s Vineyard has always been a special place for Andy and I. It was the place he first met my parents, it’s where we got engaged – and almost immediately after – we decided it was where we wanted to get married. Farm Neck was the perfect venue to capture our favorite elements of Martha’s Vineyard’s unique rustic charm. The weekend long celebration was filled with personal touches thanks to my new sister-in-law, the incredibly talented Emily of mStarr. With help from our amazing vendors, we were able to create the idyllic
and truly happy setting I had always envisioned for our special day.

Pippin Hill Farm Wedding from Andrea Hubbell Photography

Farm affairs are the unofficial “cool kid” of the wedding world right now. With bride after bride longing for a slice of that rustic charm, it takes a super special day to stand out in the crowd. But this Pippin Hill wedding did all that and more. Why? Because this couple opted for a modern take on the homespun classic. And with Easton EventsSouthern Blooms by Pat’s Floral Designs and Smock Paper by their side, the only thing lovelier than the photos from Andrea Hubbell was the day itself. Have a look here for even more.

From the Bride…My parents were married inside of a courthouse in the Virgin Islands in 1982. They never had the ceremonious wedding party that my mother was born to plan. When Andrew and I got engaged at the beginning of 2012, after knowing each other since 1999, we knew this would be an all inclusive family affair centered around that feeling of closeness. When we found Pippin Hill Farm overlooking the Blue Ridge Mountains in Charlottesville, Virginia, the four of us shared a meal and felt so at home. The farm to table menu and blue ridge mountain scenery surrounding the new construction was a huge draw for us as it combines our love for food and the outdoors.

The inspiration for the wedding celebration would be that feel of a wedding at a family estate but with the modern convenience of an all inclusive wedding venue designed by the geniuses at Pippin Hill. We wanted a homespun look with eclectic pieces organically placed within clean lines. We carefully curated individual details over a year to create the idea that we had pulled terra cotta from the shed, galvanized metal from the cellar, grandma’s goblets and enamelware from the shelf, ticking striped napkins from the hutch, herbs and vegetables from the garden, trees from the woods; all the colors were pulled from the skyline.

Collecting all of these pieces was an adventure in itself as my mom and I scoured markets and vintage treasures. I can remember once instance where we carried wire baskets from Brookfarm General Store in Brooklyn New York on 5 different subway trains. So many of the choices we made were conferenced on: my father an architect, built, refinished and painted many of the decor pieces.  Our monogram, designed by Meredith Bullock, was painted on a broken headboard by my Dad. We took a lot of inspiration from Kinfolk, Sunday Suppers and cues from the venues own styling. My husband is a golf course superintendent – essentially, a golf course “farmer,” and  we incorporated some tools and pieces relating to farming along with vintage bulb drying racks, chicken coops, crates and buckets.

As we got closer to the event, family and friends became our number one priority. As a mini-destination wedding, all of our guests would be traveling to Charlottesville and we spent hours working on planning a stress free weekend and wedding day, picking up on anything that might make anyone feel less than at home. It was so important to my parents as this was their ‘big day’ as well. Andrew and I wrote our own wedding vows to one another for the ceremony. It was so important to us to share those intimate words with the most important people in our lives. We wanted them to know how open we are to love and how committed we are to sharing our thoughts and feelings with one another.

Our beagle-dachschund Lloyd was a huge part of the ceremony and the planning required to get him to and from Virginia and to and from Pippin Hill so that he could be there was so worth it. He is family. I can only hope that the day was as full of happiness and hope for our marriage as it was for my parents who were married over 30 years ago inside that tiny courthouse. Now we dream of hosting an event for our own son or daughter one day, at our very own farmhouse, with herbs from the garden, etched glasses from the cupboard, flowers from the field, family and friends.

Corn & Crab Bisque Shooters from Boutique Bites

When we featured Boutique Bites’ fabulously girly event not long ago, my eyes were immediately drawn to these corn & crab bisque shooters. Not only are they a breeze to whip up, they look adorable with the addition of a sparkly pom, and can easily be enjoyed with one hand as your guests balance a cocktail in the other. So, in true SMP fashion, we asked Elaina to spill the beans on how she whipped up this sweet appetizer. And spill she did.

Destination Marco Island Wedding from Justin DeMutiis Photography + Fabulously Chic Weddings

Justin DeMutiis and beautiful weddings go hand in hand like peanut butter and jelly, snowy days and hot cocoa and Colin Firth and Mr. Darcy.  They are just seriously meant-to-be.  So when a Mr. DeMutiis masterpiece comes our way, we are known to throw a little bit of a virtual dance party (as you can imagine).  And today’s darling nuptials?  Well, they are all kinds of crazy amazing with a classic meets contemporary vibe, gorgeous purple hues and a breathtaking beachside setting.  See every last beautiful moment in the full gallery.

And a sweet film from Voila Cinematic to wrap up the day…

From Justin DeMutiis Photography… We’re excited to share this glamorous, fun, beach chic wedding with you! You will see gorgeous contemporary mirrored vases and pedestals, an abundance of fuchsia phalaenopsis orchids and peonies, and fun bubble chandeliers hanging from the market lights. Mirrored vase trios, pearl luster chargers, tables named after the couple’s favorite places elegantly displayed in clear frames, clear chiavari, footed candle holders with floating candles, chandeliers with hanging glass “bubbles,” all white ceremony with mirrored pedestals of various heights framing the altar and displaying orchids, callas and hydrangea, cool down table with Avian misters, fan programs and hand towels, dessert display with ridiculously pretty fruit tarts, petite fours, cupcakes and more!

From the Bride… Our ultimate goal for the wedding was to have a classy and glamorous event, yet personal and fun for all our family and friends. Having this outside at the beach initially gave people the thought of flip flops and sundresses, but starting with our invitations we made sure to evoke the feeling of a chic and romantic weekend wedding event!

We searched for a location on the beach, with a beautiful stretch of land and sunset to end the day. Also important to us was the ease of commuting to the location for our guests. Marco Island, Florida offered the most flexibility for flights from New Jersey and one of the most beautiful beach and sunset locations we saw! Once we decided on the island, the Marriott was a no brainer. The hotel is spectacular; large enough for our party, food to brag about and plenty of pools and beach areas to be together, yet able to enjoy your own private vacation. When we planned our destination wedding, we knew some family would not be able to travel and join us. Unfortunately my grandparents were in that group. As a way to make sure she was with me throughout the entire day, we pinned her cameo on my bouquet. This was a gift from my grandma to my mom, and was my something old and something borrowed for the day, letting me have her with me from the ceremony all the way to the last dance.

Having a destination wedding means leaving behind what we know and love, and having our day in a new place. But by personalizing the table names with our favorite places, we were able to bring a piece of home with us. We even named our sweetheart table the restaurant we had our first date. Being from North Jersey, the food is the focal point of the wedding. Specifically the cocktail hour and desserts. In Florida we realized the dinner was the highlight and loved that. But also in keeping with our home, we made sure to lay out an impressive array of local desserts from one of the best bakeries in Naples. As expected, the desserts were a hit!

We wanted a time to be with all our family and friends where we were not rushed, comfortable yet special, and most of all memorable. By having a weekend event with a Welcome Party on Friday, the wedding on Saturday and breakfast on Sunday we were able to have a real conversation with every guest and still enjoy all the special moments ourselves. The last 15 minutes of the wedding was rained out, canceling our sparkler exit. But everyone continued at the rooftop after party and made sure to create our sparkler tunnel to run through just as we imagined! All the vendors we worked with were outstanding and put together the wedding of our dreams. We couldn’t have asked for anything more and now are left with the most amazing memories to last a lifetime.

Florence, Alabama Wedding from Austin Gros

Thinking well outside the venue box can lead to a majorly, MAJORLY amazing wedding day. Just ask this Bride and Groom who transformed an old department store in downtown Florence into what can only be described as industrial chic awesomeness with a big side of Southern romance (and biscuits!). It’s a blank canvas that really let the true natural beauty of this day shine through. Of course, Austin Gros also has a way with capturing that beauty. The result? A whole lot of goodies to pore over in the full gallery.

From the Bride…My family moved from Atlanta to Florence, AL during my freshman year of college. I considered myself a “big city girl” and was less than enthusiastic about moving to a small town in Alabama. I met Tyler at church a few weeks into the summer and we have been inseparable ever sense. Having lived in Florence his whole life, he opened my eyes to its history and charm, and I feel in love with Florence as much I did with him.

Three years later when we got engaged, we knew we wanted the city where we fell in love to play a central role in our wedding day. So, on May 26, 2012 we were married in the former, Roger’s Department Store. A landmark in the city we grew to love, and where love grew in us. This department store was in the Rogers family for four generations, was where our mothers and their mothers shopped, where Tyler’s grandfather sold toys during college, and where T.S. Stribling based a Pulitzer Prize-winning novel.

And now, the store will be remembered for something else: hosting its first and final wedding. The owners of the building we’re gracious enough to let us transform the empty space that sits in the downtown of our city. Some people in town thought we were crazy (and some days we did, too) but the day ended up being more perfect than we could have ever imagined.

If there’s one thing I have to say is the girl has a serious eye for pattern. Can we please just take a second to absorb all of the incredible textiles and vibrant colours sprinkled throughout? It’s kind of a dream. Captured by Bryce Covey, there’s lots more interior inspiration right here in our overflowing gallery.

Atlantic City Wedding from 217 Photography + Proud to Plan

Emotions that are spilling out of these images from 217 Photography include: joy, elation, happiness, love, excitement… the list goes on and on, but can be summed up with this one very bold statement: the wedding, courtesy of Proud to Plan, has the most heart of any wedding this wedding blogger has every seen. It’s a wedding like no other, and the gallery is as close to a party as you’ll get on a Wednesday afternoon in your office.

From the planner… Lonni and Josh are a really sweet and thoughtful couple- family and friends are most important to them and they really wanted to create a wonderful day for their loved ones. The couple currently lives in Miami and love the ocean, plus Lonni spent most of her summers “down the shore” with her family, so when they saw the gorgeous views from One Atlantic in Atlantic City, NJ, the choice on location was clear! It was the perfect spot!

When it came time to come up with a design for their wedding, Lonni and Josh enlisted the help of Erin Proud to create it all. They loved a soft color palette of pastels mixed with natural textures and fabrics, vintage details and slight beach touches. Erin helped refine the theme into “vintage beachside garden” with lots rustic character and a touch of lacey charm. It was just what the couple wanted! Lonni and Josh sent vintage Atlantic City postcard save-the-dates and started preparing for their beachside wedding weekend.

When their big day finally arrived, the sun was shining and the weather was perfect! Lonni and her ladies got the day started in a suite at the Atlantic City Sheraton where they were pampered with hair by Up Your Do and makeup by Dylan Michael Cosmetics. Lonni’s Romona Keveza gown fit her like a glove and she finished off the look with a simple rhinestone belt, adding the perfect touch of glam. Her maids were gorgeous in Amsale gowns, featuring a different cut for every girl. Josh and his guys looked handsome in traditional black tuxedos.

Pete Malone, of 217 Photography, found some great spots for their pictures.Their emotional first look was held under the pier, and as pictures went on, you could see them savoring the time together, realizing that their dream wedding day was happening! They shared some photos on the boardwalk with their bridal party before heading up to One Atlantic for the Tisch and Bedeken. Josh and his guys sipped on scotch and sang Jewish songs and hymns before bringing Josh out to his bride on top of his groomsmen’s shoulders! Their family and friends have such great love for this couple and you could feel it in the room as they signed their Ketubah. It was a great celebration!

The ceremony was held in the Skyline Ballroom with impeccable views of the Atlantic Ocean and the Atlantic City Boardwalk, a perfect backdrop for this beach-loving couple! Lillian from The Manic Botanic created the amazing chuppah that the couple was married under. It was lush with flowers and lots of greenery, and Lonni’s grandfather’s Tallis was placed on top. The couple were married by Lonni’s mother and she used Josh’s grandmother’s prayer book, which was hid during the Holocaust and later found after the war, making this ceremony, one of the most personal ones we’ve ever witnessed and Lonni’s favorite part of the wedding day.

One Atlantic created a delicious hors d’oeuvres menu for guests to enjoy as they took in the gorgeous sunset. The bar was lit in a pretty pink and the tables were decorated with small bud vases and vintage medicine bottles. The faux chalkboard seating chart was placed on a welcome table surrounded by more vases, mason jars, and bottles, and featured a vintagey birdcage for the wedding cards.

The bride and groom were left speechless when they saw the ballroom for the first time! Lisa, Jennifer, and Amanda from Proud to Plan executed the vision perfectly. Tables were topped with burlap and lace runners and were decorated with lanterns, bottles, mason jars, and lots of soft pastel flowers by Manic Botanic. The guests were overheard saying that they really liked the unique way the centerpieces were set up- every table was different. The couple were announced into the reception and went straight into the Hora- which went on for 30 minutes! Lots of their family and friends created “shtick” to show the couple during the Hora and you could see the immense happiness on their faces as the story of their relationship was told by their guests.

The bride and groom were toasted with a few speeches before they had their romantic first dance together. The couple told us they felt as if they were the only people in the room as they danced to the beautiful lyrics of Van Morrison. The dancing kicked off with a surprise flash mob from Josh’s family and friends and you could see that the couple was surprised! Nafshenu Orchestra did an incredible job as always by mixing in traditional Jewish music with modern Top 40 hits! Luckily, they can relive all of the moments of the day when they get their wedding film from First Floor Films.

When looking back on their wedding day, Lonni and Josh remember almost every moment of the day as special; from the shouting and cheering from passerby’s on the Atlantic City Boardwalk, to the all of the traditional parts of their ceremony- their wedding day was exactly what they imagined and seeing their vision become a reality was the most thrilling piece to the day.

Charlottesville Engagement Session from Eric Kelley + Get the Look

It’s my wedding blogger obligation to warn you that this e-sesh may cause a little envy. Some ring, dress and wish-I-had-engagement-pics-this-cute envy. But fear not, loves. Because while re-creating this Charlottesville photo session from Eric Kelley and Easton Events would be next to impossible, we DO have a few ideas to help you get the look. In fact, we’ve rounded up our favorite LWDs (little white dresses) that’ll have you and glowing just like this gorgeous bride-to-be.

From the Bride-to-Be…For our Engagement Shoot, we wanted the pictures to capture the two of us as a couple, but our home and its surroundings are a huge part of our life together. Our mutual love for our hometown, Charlottesville, its country environment, and our animals – chickens, ducks, sheep, and a couple of dogs – has helped bring us together into our own little family. We wanted this time in our lives to be captured in full; from the formal to the very informal.  These photos to be reminiscent of our real life together.

Behind the Blog with Amber Interiors

I vividly remember the very first time I stumbled upon Ambers blog. I had followed a Pinterest path, as you do, that led me to this magical place filled with design inspiration overload. That image, of her own dining room no less, is one that still manages to reel me right in. So being able to catch up with the woman behind this incredible blog has been a squeal-inducing pleasure, to say the least. Captured by the always talented Bryce Covey, we maybe sort of kind of have her full home tour coming up next, so stay tuned!

SMP: Some words you live by?
Trust your gut! Don’t second guess your initial reaction to things…cause what I have learned is that my initial reaction is most always the right one!

SMP: Any guilty pleasures?
Oh yes, TONS! My guiltiest is certainly extra dirty martinis with blue cheese stuffed olives. I definitely would and could drink these things ALL DAY LONG. They are so indulgent and don’t make you feel that great the next morning but I don’t care!! Gimme a couple of these and the Bachelorette and I am good to go!

SMP: What did you think your dream job was before your dream job found you?
I have always wanted to be doing something in the creative field. My first job when I was 15, was working for a jewelry designer. For a while, I really wanted to design jewelry.. and then I realized primarily that I just wanted to wear the jewelry not necessarily design the jewelry! When I was a little kid I used to draw houses and furniture while other kids drew trees and flowers. I guess I sub consciously always wanted to have something to do with interior design, but I was like 5 so my mind wasn’t quite made up, ha! One of the best days ever was when I realized I could get paid for making other peoples houses pretty!

SMP: What’s your favorite quote that describes your creative process?
“What screws us up the most is the picture in our head of how its supposed to be” Most of the time the less I think about what I am trying to “perfect” the better it will look in the end!

SMP: If you had the opportunity to get a message across to a large group of people, what would your message be?
Don’t expect a seat if you are not going to bring anything to the table..surround yourself with people who inspire you..and don’t sweat the small stuff.. That was three messages, but I think they are all important ones!

SMP: If you could do it all over again, would you change anything?
I don’t think I would change anything because it may alter everything!! I am quite happy with the way my life turned out, although I wish I appreciated things more when I was younger….like how awesome sleeping in was and how small my hips were pre baby, haha!

SMP: What is one piece of advice you would give to a blogger just starting out?
“Never judge your start to someone else’s middle” When I was first starting to blog I was constantly comparing myself to other bigger bloggers and was so frustrated when I wasn’t getting tons of followers or having crazy page-views. Then it dawned on me that most of these girls had been blogging for a lot longer that I had and they all had different things to bring to the table than me. Once I began blogging for myself and stopped comparing myself to other talented ladies, my content got better and I enjoyed blogging 10X more!

SMP: What is your favorite item in your home?
This is a toughie, but I would probably say the first “big” piece of artwork my husband and I bought together. It was painted by the super talented Audrey Kawasaki and every time I look at it , it transports me back to a special time in my past when I was just starting out my life with my husband.

SMP: What’s your best tip for balancing work and personal life?
I must admit I am pretty bad at this. It’s very hard to switch my “work brain” off but in order to keep myself and my family sane I try my hardest. I worked out a deal that dinner time is a no phone zone and then all electronics need to be shut off and stowed away by 7pm.. That way I have 2 hours every night to just chill and spend time with my family without work interruptions.

SMP: What was the tipping point in your business that made you feel like your blog was going to thrive?
I am not sure what the tipping point was on the blog but I think when Elle Decor named me as a “designer to watch out for” I felt like I may have good thing going on and caught the right peoples attention. The blog has been the catalyst for so many of my career highlights and I have met some pretty cool bloggin pals along the way. Honestly it has been such a fun chapter in my life so far! I only hope I can continue on for years to come.

SMP: What is the hardest lesson in business you’ve ever learned?
Get it in writing!! Just because I mean what I say doesn’t mean that other people do….if you go on someones word you’ll always loose. Get it in writing and you’ll at least have a safety net if something ever gets weird.

SMP: Stranded on a desert island question… what’s the one cocktail you would take with you?
See above!! Dirty martini extra blue cheese olives…thats my jam!

SMP: What color do you think will stand the test of trend time?
Black.. its just classic

SMP: One thing every style savvy homeowner should have?
A killer espresso machine, a well stocker bar, and a great coffee table book collection!

SMP: If you could buy yourself a single gift of any cost, what would it be?
A lake house with a boat dock….and a boat (in that dock obviously). Also, I really want a fancy vintage mens rolex.. Preferably to wear at my lake house, sitting on my boat in the dock, sipping an extra dirty martini… surrounded by fabulous coffee table books. Ha!

From Nate and Jenny WeddingsCharles and Melissa have spent the last few years working, he as head chef, she as head stewardess, on luxury yachts and in luxury homes across the world. They wanted to celebrate their wedding in their native country of Australia. They decided to hold their ceremony in Sunshine Beach, on the Sunshine Coast.

Melissa has an impeccable and glamorous style, and she planned for a bright and beautiful day, sherbert colored bridesmaids dresses, huge orange single stem blooms on the table and hanging from blue bottles strung around their altar over looking Australia’s turquoise sea.

Their family and friends arrived… and so did 24 hours of torrential rain. But it didn’t dampen their moods at all, and they even took portraits in the pouring rain in Noosa National Park.

Chicago Wedding from Evan Hunt Photo

Every single picture Evan Hunt captures is like a gorgeous piece of art, worthy of the best spot on your mantle. That amazing talent is illustrated beautifully in this perfectly sweet wedding at the Chicago Botanic Garden. Where the sweet moments stand out, and the details are pure lovely. It’s what wedding bloggers dreams are made of, and it’s all sitting pretty right here.

From Evan Hunt PhotoLauren met Alex in Argentina while doing mission work. They wed at the Chicago Botanical Gardens and have already returned to Argentina to continue their work together. Just before we left after the events of the day had finished I told Lauren’s father that only a few times had I witnessed two families with love as big theirs. “Big, big love” were my exact words, and I meant them.
