Sheridan proposed to Shakye on April 20, 2024, a date rich with meaning and symbolism. The date itself was a palindrome—42024—marking the beginning of ten consecutive palindrome days and symbolizing their ten years together. It also fell on Sheridan’s late father Cornell’s birthday, proposing a heartfelt way to honor his presence and legacy in such a meaningful moment. The timing aligned with UVA’s Black Alumni Weekend, allowing the couple to return to Charlottesville, where they first met, without raising suspicion. Sheridan proposed at Mount Ida Reserve Vineyard, where the Blue Ridge Mountain views mirrored the significance of the moment. After Shakye said yes, she was surprised by family and friends from near and far waiting to celebrate, making the proposal both intimate and joyfully communal.

Shakye wore the Stella gown from Designer Loft Bridal in New York City for the ceremony. When the ballroom opened, and she and Sheridan were introduced for the start of the evening’s celebration, she changed into the Jupiter gown by Dovita Milano from Ava Laurenne Bride in Virginia, a striking look that set the tone for the night ahead. Later in the evening, as the dance floor came fully alive, Shakye slipped into her second reception dress, the Nova Fringe Mini Dress by Albina Dyla, shimmering with movement and giving the impression she was draped in strings of diamonds, a moment that had guests cheering and celebrating alongside her.

Food and drink were an intentional extension of the guest experience, thoughtfully curated by Dover Hall’s in-house catering team. During cocktail hour, guests enjoyed passed hors d’oeuvres including lobster rolls as a nod to Shakye’s Boston roots, fried chicken croquettes finished with lavender honey, fried garlic, and Parmigiano Reggiano, and New Zealand lamb chops served with chermoula and kecap. Signature cocktails added a personal touch, with a mezcal old-fashioned selected for him and a lavender French 75 chosen for her, setting the tone for the evening ahead. As dinner was served, guests were treated to a thoughtfully composed menu that balanced comfort and refinement. Entrées included miso honey-glazed salmon with dill roasted potatoes and sesame green beans, housemade three cheese tortellini with cream sauce, blistered tomatoes, crispy oyster mushrooms, Parmesan Reggiano, and fried garlic, and peppercorn crusted beef tenderloin accompanied by roasted garlic pomme purée, charred onion, crispy oyster mushrooms, and truffle bordelaise. Florals and décor, designed by Angie Wright of Embellished Details, were rooted in classic elegance and organic movement, bringing a timeless and romantic palette to Dover Hall. The arrangements featured white roses, white Phalaenopsis orchids, spray roses, white ranunculus, and soft greenery, with layered textures that added depth and softness throughout the estate. Each floral moment enhanced Dover Hall’s grandeur while maintaining an effortless, romantic feel. After the celebration, Shakye and Sheridan donated their florals to VCU Children’s Hospital, offering a small gesture of beauty and joy to the children receiving care there.

Reflecting the refined black-tie aesthetic of the evening, the wedding cake featured a timeless and elegant design. Thoughtful in both presentation and flavor, it became a beautiful focal point during the reception. In addition to cutting cake, the couple offered his and hers flavors, chocolate for her and red velvet for him, adding a playful and personal touch to conclude the celebration on a sweet note.

While not a traditional wedding reading, the passage felt timeless and deeply personal to their relationship. As the evening unfolded, Shakye spontaneously led guests in a spirited rendition of UVA’s “The Good Ole Song,” bringing school pride and nostalgia to the dance floor. Line dances quickly became a crowd favorite, and even Cleo, the couple’s cat, made a playful appearance in cardboard cutout form during dinner and dancing.

The couple’s wedding date held profound significance, falling on the birthday of Shakye’s late stepfather, who passed away in July 2024. A steady and loving presence since she was four years old, his memory was felt throughout the day. When Shakye’s mother and grandmother were unexpectedly hospitalized during the wedding, she honored them by wearing cherished family heirlooms—including their blue-stoned rings—and attaching their photographs to her bouquet, allowing them to walk beside her in spirit. The couple also honored loved ones who have passed with a memorial table during the reception.

A Color-Blocked Aspen Wedding Weekend Inspired by Wildflowers and Joyful Connection

Rather than set wedding colors, we were inspired by wildflowers that grow all over Aspen, and Callista & Co embraced bright color blocking throughout the wedding day design. We infused color into every corner of the weekend. Marisa always said she wanted to look out at a crowd full of our people and see vibrancy and life, not a sea of black and white attire, so we encouraged our guests to embrace our “Colorful Cocktail” attire and bring the full spectrum of joy to the celebration. The result was exactly what we hoped for: a weekend overflowing with color, connection, and so much LOVE.

From the brides: Our vision was to create a wedding weekend that felt like an elevated summer camp that was playful, immersive, and centered around connection. We imagined our guests arriving, parking their cars once, and then exploring the entire celebration on foot and by gondola for the rest of the weekend. We loved the idea of everyone being together in a small, walkable village where spontaneous run-ins and new friendships could form outside of the formal events. Above all, we wanted the weekend to feel deeply personal and reflective of who we are as a couple. Every decision came back to guest experience and making the people we love feel seen, appreciated, and part of something joyful. For our seating assignments, we wrote individual letters to each guest, which became one of our favorite details. The whole experience felt immersive and intentional, and exactly the kind of experience we wanted to share with the people we love. We feel endlessly grateful for our supportive family and friends, and for the INCREDIBLE team that helped bring the weekend to life. One of the most meaningful things we learned throughout the process was how special the relationships became with the people who helped shape our day. Working with our photographer Rebecca Yale, our planner Callista Osborn of Callista & Co., florist Kailey Coovert of Perfect Petal, and stationer Katie Mason of Mason Jones made the entire journey feel richer, more joyful, and surprisingly effortless. We look back on our wedding often with huge smiles and the happiest tears, just so thankful for every single moment.

From the brides: We always say our proposal story is perfectly “us,” because somehow we both ended up secretly planning engagements at the same time. Over some XL margaritas in mid-2023, we casually agreed that Lynette would be the one to propose, not realizing that both of us had already started quietly putting plans in motion. Lynette asked Marisa’s dad for his blessing during a Michigan football game at Ashley’s bar in Ann Arbor, which felt like the most fitting backdrop for her U of M alumn family. The moment arrived on December 26th morning in Marisa’s hometown of Grand Rapids, MI. The ring Lynette proposed with was originally Marisa’s mother’s. Marisa always knew the ring existed, but had absolutely no idea Lynette had asked her family for it or had it subtly redesigned to feel like her own. We took a quiet walk around Reeds Lake, and Lynette proposed right on the water. A few minutes later, we wandered to the oldest restaurant in town, where Marisa’s entire family was gathered to surprise and celebrate with us. What Lynette didn’t realize was that Marisa had already been working with a jeweler, completely in secret. Marisa left Lynette’s ring in Chicago but arranged for her cousins to take a detour through Chicago on the way to Michigan and surprised Lynette a couple of days later by presenting her own engagement ring! We wrapped up the whirlwind by heading to Miami to celebrate the New Year as fiancées!

From the brides: It really is true with the person that you marry that “when you know, you know,” and apparently, the same thing goes for wedding dresses. Lynette found hers at a boutique in New York City and immediately connected with the clean, modern style of a Japanese designer, Tamomi Okubo, whose work felt perfect. Marisa also found her dress in New York City at Amsale. She originally thought she had chosen “the one,” but in classic Marisa fashion, she made a last-minute switch when another gown made her light up in a completely different way. We wanted our dresses to complement each other without feeling overly coordinated, so we recruited our sisters as our personal fashion approval squad. They reviewed everything to make sure the dresses felt harmonious and true to who we are. For the record, Marisa tried on sixteen dresses and embraced every moment of the process (champagne, too!).

The bridesmaids selected their own dresses and were encouraged to embrace bright and cheerful colors. The bridesmaids held posy monofloral bouquets, which they purposefully paired in contrast with their dresses while getting ready on the wedding morning. The bride’s nephews acted as ring bearers and flower throwers and wore light blue matching suits.

Each menu was wrapped with an evil eye, another nod to Marisa’s family’s Greek heritage and a detail that was also present at her older sister’s wedding (also planned by Callista and photographed by Rebecca Yale). A shot glass full of Metaxa was at each guest’s seat, and the festivities commenced with a group toast, another Greek tradition. The evening ended with traditional Greek dancing, and of course, more Metaxa.

The ceremony took place at the Holy Cross Event Deck with 360-degree views of the Vail Valley and Gore Mountain Range with snow-capped mountains in the distance. The ceremony was officiated by Marisa’s brother-in-law and Lynette’s brother, and Marisa’s brother served as their koumbaro for their traditional Greek stefana crown ceremony. Post-ceremony, the brides led an impromptu procession across the mountain top, leading their guests to the shuttles that would take them to the other side of the mountain for the reception on the 10th. Guests enjoyed a cocktail hour on the deck, watching the alpine glow as the sunset lit up the mountains. The brides opted for personalized escort cards, handwriting notes to each of their guests thanking them for attending. They continued their love for color with color-blocked reception tables, each round table having a different color centerpiece, and the center banquet tables having rainbow bud vases and candles.

For our ceremony and reception, we chose pieces that felt genuinely connected to us and to the setting. Our first dance was to “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough,” a song we dance and sing to in our kitchen at least once a week, sometimes more. It also felt especially fitting, surrounded by the mountains in Vail. After the first minute of dancing together, we invited everyone to join us on the dance floor, which instantly set the tone for the night and brought all the energy we wanted. Our shared bridesmaid read “Blessing for a Marriage,” a beautiful piece about the landscape of love and partnership that felt so aligned with the day. Lynette’s brother and Marisa’s brother-in-law co-officiated the ceremony, which made everything feel incredibly personal and rooted in family. We also wrote our own vows, and sharing those words we crafted for each other ended up being one of the most meaningful moments of the weekend. Everything felt thoughtful, heartfelt, and full of love.

There were so many moments that felt uniquely “us,” but a few stand out in the most meaningful way. One of our favorite details was handwriting letters to each of our guests. We wanted every person to know exactly why they mattered to us and why having them with us at the top of the mountain meant so much. Seeing people open those letters throughout the night was incredibly special. The brides chose to have a private first look by the river behind their hotel, enjoying a moment of calm in nature before the festivities began. They made their way up the mountain in a gondola, where they read a note from the bride’s aunt given to them the evening before for the journey to the top.

Our welcome party was full of western wear, which set the tone for a fun, relaxed, let ’s-do-this weekend. On the wedding day, all of our guests rode a gondola up the mountain for the ceremony, which created this magical shared sense of arrival and anticipation. Afterward, everyone was bused across to the opposite side of the mountain for cocktail hour and the reception, giving them an entirely new view of Vail. At the end of the night, we took a different gondola back down, which felt like the perfect exhale after such an unforgettable celebration.

We also incorporated a Greek tradition known as the Stefana, which felt especially meaningful to us. The Stefana are wedding crowns connected by a ribbon and symbolize unity, honor, and the shared journey of marriage. The Koumbaro, or sponsor of the crowns, was Marisa’s brother, Steven, making the moment even more special. Marisa comes from a large Greek family that deeply values tradition, and it was important to us to share that part of her heritage with our family and friends.

A Classic Lake Como Wedding with All-Black Attire and Candlelit Garden Romance

Wedding colors: light pink, green, and white. The vision for the wedding was to be classic and timeless. We focused on colors and design that would be elegant and formal. We wanted the beautiful scenery of Lake Como to be the main design focus. We had an all-black attire for guests and the wedding party to achieve a classic wedding feel. With the help of Parade Wedding planning, my vision and design for the wedding came to life.

The design vision was rooted in timeless Italian elegance, with a seamless flow between the ceremony at Villa del Balbianello and the reception at Relais Villa Vittoria. The entire creative concept, planning, and execution were thoughtfully curated by Parade Wedding, who brought the couple’s vision to life with a refined and cohesive approach. The ceremony embraced the iconic beauty of Villa del Balbianello, allowing its historic architecture, manicured gardens, and panoramic views over Lake Como to take center stage. The floral design was soft and sophisticated, enhancing the natural surroundings without ever overpowering them. For the reception at Relais Villa Vittoria, the atmosphere transformed into an intimate and romantic garden celebration. Candlelight, lush floral installations, and organic arrangements created a warm and inviting ambiance that felt elegant yet effortless. Every design choice was intentional, classic, understated, and deeply connected to the surrounding landscape, allowing the beauty of Lake Como to remain the true focal point throughout the entire day.

Our proposal story was months in the making, with a little help from my mom to make sure everything went according to plan. To keep it a surprise, they planned a graduation photo shoot since I had just graduated in a quiet park surrounded by nature. While I was focused on taking photos and had no idea what was coming, he snuck up behind me. When the moment felt right, he got down on one knee and proposed. It was such a surprise — simple, intimate, and full of love — a moment we’ll never forget.

The main course was Beef fillet with red wine sauce and sautéed vegetables. Wines: White Wine Sauvignon D.o.c. Pitars Red Wine Le Ginestre – Chianti Classico D.o.c.g.

Florals were provided by Figli dei fiori for the ceremony and Petali di Alice for the reception. We wanted a cohesive classic look for the flowers, using only light pinks, greens, and white. For the ceremony, beautiful flowers lined the aisle. A cascading flower scape was used for the reception table. We wanted the flowers to accentuate the beautiful scenery Lake Como provided.

The wedding cake was a two-tier vanilla cake with Chantilly cream and berries. The cake was decorated with a floral pattern with fresh flowers on top to match the ceremony flowers.

For the music, we had a string quartet play an instrumental version of our chosen songs. The groom and wedding party walked down the aisle to I Can’t Help Falling in Love by Elvis Presley. The bride walked down the aisle to Oceans by Hillsong United. During the vows, Flightless Bird by American Mouth. For the first kiss and aisle exit, Accidentally in Love by Counting Crows played. The reception entrance was to Adore You by Harry Styles. The first dance was to When I Look at You by Miley Cyrus.

A special detail of the wedding was writing our own vows to speak to each other during the ceremony. It was such a special moment to share our vows in front of our closest friends and family.

A special detail was the entrance to our ceremony. To access Villa del Balbianello, guests had to take a scenic boat ride. The bride arrived via a separate boat with the father of the bride and made a grand entrance up to where the ceremony took place. The overall vision was one of relaxed sophistication: quiet luxury in the Greek summer. The celebration was thoughtfully curated by the wedding planner as a three-day wedding experience, allowing friends and family who traveled from across the world to slow down, connect, and truly be present. The experience began with an intimate boat outing aboard a vintage wooden vessel, where close friends and relatives gathered to enjoy the sea and sun together. This was followed by a rehearsal dinner and pre-wedding celebration at a marina in the Athenian Riviera, set against the water and golden light of the coast. The experience culminated in a magnificent wedding day—an emotional ceremony, an elegant reception, and a high-energy celebration that carried on into the early morning hours, filled with joyful dancing and unforgettable moments. Our ceremony and reception decor guests to linger, connect, and celebrate. Rooted in natural textures and soft tones, the design perfectly mirrored the couple’s love story—elegant, joyful, and deeply meaningful—set against the timeless beauty of a Greek summer evening.

Sometimes love doesn’t arrive early—it arrives exactly on time. Both proudly Greek, Michael and Simone grew up just fifteen minutes apart, their lives quietly running parallel without ever crossing. It wasn’t until later in life, when experience had shaped them and their stars finally aligned, that fate stepped in and introduced them. What followed was effortless: two ambitious souls, bound by laughter, shared values, and an endless, undeniable love for one another. Their Greek heritage has always been at the heart of who they are. As Greeks living in Chicago, their roots have remained deeply important—something to be honored, celebrated, and passed on. Choosing Greece as their wedding destination felt less like a decision and more like a homecoming. A return to the land that shaped their families, their traditions, and ultimately, their love story. Michael proposed in Paros in September 2024, surrounded by the beauty of the Aegean—an unforgettable moment that made it only fitting they would return the following summer to begin their marriage. With friends and family traveling from across the world to celebrate alongside them, their wedding became more than a union of two people; it became a gathering of generations, cultures, and hearts, all meeting under the Greek sun. The dancers stayed to lead one of the most entertaining and hilarious moments of the evening: teaching the groom and his friends some intricate traditional steps and difficult dance moves, guiding them step by step with patience and humor. During the design process, the couple shared with their wedding planner a special request: they wanted their entire family and bridal party—50 people in total—seated at the head table. To make this possible while keeping the design exquisite, we created a stunning serpentine table that wound gracefully through the space, allowing everyone to be included while maintaining an intimate, connected feeling. The table itself became a centerpiece of the design, its flowing shape adding both movement and elegance to the venue. Above it, grand, impressive chandeliers hung like jewels, casting a warm, luxurious glow over the dinner and elevating the entire aesthetic. The serpentine layout not only solved the logistical challenge but also created a visually striking moment that balanced scale, intimacy, and style—a perfect reflection of the couple’s sophisticated yet warm celebration.

The wedding cake, also from Galateo, was a made-to-order Millefoglie cake with Chantilly Cream, Almond Brittle, and Wild Berries on Top. Guests were treated to a live cake-making experience as the caterers assembled the cake by layer, and then it was finished off with the fresh berries and powdered sugar. As Kit & Vinny were cutting the cake, cold sparklers went off, and champagne was passed around to the guests.

The ceremony was officiated by the bride’s aunt. She read a beautiful passage from the First Corinthians, Chapter 13, verses 4-7, which sums up love in the most perfect way – “Love is patient, love is kind. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.” For the music at the ceremony and aperitivo, there were two violinists from Bravo.

From the bride, Christina: Anthony and I were vacationing in Palm Beach over the Fourth of July. We had dinner reservations at the hotel where we were staying, and earlier that day, he casually asked if I wanted to ‘take pictures on the beach before dinner’, as every man does on vacation, lol. We walked down to the sand, and when we reached the perfect spot, Anthony got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. We took beautiful photos together, then celebrated with a lovely dinner and lots of champagne. It’s still one of my favorite vacations, aside from maybe our honeymoon now, and what made it especially meaningful was having the time to take it all in just the two of us.

The bride’s gown was selected at The White Magnolia in Charleston, chosen from the boutique’s own collection. What began as a simple, no-pressure outing with her mother to explore silhouettes quickly unfolded into the moment every bride secretly hopes for. The very first gown Christina stepped into felt as though it had been waiting for her. With the decision made, the remaining bridal appointments were canceled. Originally, Christina’s sister and grandmothers were meant to join her for the full dress-shopping experience. Still, the magical find turned their visit into a heartfelt “dress reveal” at The White Magnolia, allowing them to share in the excitement together. Alterations were completed by Forget Me Knot Alterations.

The bridesmaids wore dresses from AW Bridal in the shade Fennel Seed. Christina knew she wanted a green tone that felt fresh and modern, something not quite sage but not olive either, and this in-between hue was the perfect match. The collection offered a range of styles, allowing each bridesmaid to choose a silhouette she felt beautiful in while still keeping the overall look cohesive. A welcome bonus: every dress came with built-in padding.

Signature sips added a playful, personal touch to the celebration, with Cowboy’s Cocktails, named after the couple’s beloved cat, featuring a skinny margarita and a classic transfusion. Hors d’oeuvres struck the perfect balance of sea and land, led by a traveling raw bar with fresh oysters and shrimp, alongside mini crab cakes, chicken and waffles, and bite-sized tomato pies. For dinner, guests selected from a trio of crowd-pleasing entrées: New York strip steak, salmon, or ricotta ravioli, each served with creamy Parmesan farro and spicy Brussels sprouts. Adding a meaningful nod to family heritage, the groom’s Italian roots were honored with cookies shipped straight from a beloved bakery in his hometown of Scerni.

One of the bride’s greatest joys during the planning process was dreaming up custom details that made the celebration feel deeply personal, especially those created hand in hand with her parents. Thoughtful nods to sentiment and place were woven throughout the day, from oyster shells lovingly collected, bleached, and hand-painted by her parents, to bespoke cornhole boards crafted by her father and adorned with the couple’s custom wedding crest. Her mother echoed the same design through delicately embroidered cocktail napkins, tying each detail together with intention. These heartfelt, handmade touches became some of the most meaningful elements of the day.

The bride was equally grateful for her mother’s boundless creativity and a well-stocked craft room that became the heart of their planning process. Together, they designed and handcrafted all of the day-of paper goods, from the welcome and bar signs to the ceremony programs, place cards, and menus. They also created custom wedding favors, including matchboxes featuring a drawing of the couple’s beloved cat, Cowboy, along with personalized keychains and air fresheners. Creating these thoughtful details side by side became one of the most meaningful parts of the planning journey.

A Soft Blue and Terracotta Euro-Inspired Wedding at The Lodge at Torrey Pines

Anna wanted a soft, timeless, romantic European garden feel for her wedding day. Embracing the setting with the blue of the ocean and sunset tones of peaches, oranges, and creams. Her veil had hand-embroidered leaves and flowers, so we used that as inspiration for the invitations and day-of paper goods, as well as the choice of stunning embroidered linens from Theoni Collection. The same location was used for the ceremony and dinner, and so we had approximately 1.5 hours to “turn” the space so the design had to be done in such a way that it would work seamlessly for both events. The sweetheart table was placed between the stunning arches. The beaded chandeliers were moved from the entrance of the ceremony to over the wedding party tables. We designed the truss structure in an “H” design with white twinkle lights that disappeared into the sky and custom pendants that were hung over the aisle/ dance floor so it would look beautiful as everyone walked down the aisle, but also enhanced their special dances and sparkled after sunset.

Inspired by the romance of an Italian summer spent in the countryside, the floral design drew from a sun-washed palette of terracotta, honey, apricot, and soft sky blue—echoing the patinaed walls and faded fresco tones of an Italian villa. The colors felt warm and lived-in, evoking long afternoons, open air, and the quiet beauty of the landscape. Linens filled with hummingbirds, soft blue stripes, and embroidered flowers enhanced the overall design. Moab roses in the perfect terracotta hue anchored the palette, paired with light blue delphinium, icy blue tulips, butterfly ranunculus, creamy lisianthus, and delicate garden spray roses. The result was a floral story that felt both intentional and organic, with soft movement and natural variation throughout. The couple’s domed chuppah was designed with flowing hops vines and PeeGee hydrangea, offering a subtle nod to the early fall season while maintaining the airy, romantic feel of a summer celebration in the Italian countryside. Each design and floral element was thoughtfully curated to flow seamlessly from the ceremony to the romantic dinner setting under the stars.

Her fine art renderings of wildflowers were added to the Welcome sign/ the arched menus, the escort card,s as well as the dance floor.

The groom Eli is part of a well-known DJ duo – “Two Friends,” and he wrote a song for Anna that was calligraphied on the escort wall, which also included a record player and vinyl records, and as a nod to his profession, we also designed turntable bar coasters.

At a venue with views of both the Pacific Ocean and the Ko’olau mountains, Emma and Nick wanted to add to the natural tropical beauty by incorporating a whimsical, dreamy, pastel-hued garden. From the pops of tropical fruit on the tablescape, to the whimsical greenery tent entrance placement, with Chinaman’s Hat in their ceremony backdrop. Every little detail was intentionally designed.

Emma and Nick met on Oʻahu at a college bar and first fell in love through their shared sense of adventure and deep appreciation for nature, spending their early dates kayaking to the Mokes, paddleboarding at the Kāneʻohe sandbar, and exploring the island together. Their love for Oʻahu became such a defining part of their story that it ultimately inspired their decision to get married there. During COVID, they moved to Maui to live with Emma’s parents, a season that strengthened their relationship and allowed Nick to become deeply integrated into her family, while also welcoming their beloved puppy, Theo. Later, they moved to Washington to build a life together, where Nick proposed atop a snowy mountain at Crystal, followed by a rainy celebration that ended beneath a breathtaking double rainbow, a moment that felt like the world affirming their love.

A Tropical Keys Wedding with Barefoot Beach Vibes and Ballroom-Level Elegance

Our team was able to bring that dream to life with the most amazing florals, production, accent décor, beachfront venue, and outstanding live band for all aspects of the day. It perfectly married the tropical island vibes of the Keys with the grand feel of an elevated reception.

We met during our time as students at Georgetown University. During one of our annual trips down to D.C. with our friends, we went back to campus, and Drew planned the most amazing proposal right in front of Healy Hall, the main historic building on campus. The surprises didn’t stop there. All of our friends were waiting at our favorite bar from college, Tombs, and surprised me with a full celebration all night!

My dress was from Mira Zwillinger, and I instantly fell in love with the lace as it reminded me of a beautiful tropical backdrop. The flowers had the right amount of sparkle that glistened in the sun, and Mira was able to customize the dress to the exact silhouette I was hoping for! The Wedding Salon of Manhasset made sure it fit me like a glove so I could dance all night! They even were able to sew in a piece of my grandmother’s wedding dress lace and my grandfather’s handkerchiefs, so they could be with me spiritually throughout the night.

Our favorite thing to do together is watch sunsets anytime we can. I always loved the color yellow, and when we decided to get married in the Florida Keys, yellow was the perfect fit, as Islamorada has one of the best sunsets you can imagine. My bridesmaids each wore a different designer they loved and felt most comfortable in, which created depth even when all wearing the same color!

Katherine at Watson Ellis in NYC was able to create a dream custom linen tuxedo for Drew. It matched his vision perfectly, offering a lighter weight and vibe to match the beach feel, but also the chicness and elegance of the tuxedo, which shone under the lighting. She added a custom patch on the inside of the jacket with our wedding monogram for a personal touch.

Our food gave you a little bit of everything that we love! From the raw bar, fresh fish and seafood paella to the live hand-stretched mozzarella from Mimmo’s, the food at our wedding represented our families’ cultures and the location in Islamorada. Chef Stuart Dove from Pierre’s was incredible, and all three main dinner choices were incredible. The whole culinary team made our dreams come true. To add a fun touch to the post-dinner sweets, Cupcake Sushi and Aroma Espresso gave guests an interactive experience to try all different types of desserts and coffee!

The flowers at our wedding brought the entire space to life. We loved how our stage was wrapped in flowers, with the view of the water directly behind us. Lavish Event Design was able to find the most amazing flower variety that provided depth not only in color, but also in unique shapes. Our favorites were the Protea King, White Ginger, and the beautiful white orchids. Together with High Performance Designs, they covered the entire dance floor ceiling with crystal globes and flowers that set the exact mood we were looking for on the dance floor. They really made the elegance on the beach a reality.

Our wedding cake mimicked the waves in the ocean. Maggie recreated our wedding monogram and added flowers that matched the décor of the wedding!

Our wedding band, Good Musicians, was absolutely incredible and truly blew everyone away. They covered an amazing range of music—from pop to timeless classics—bringing to life artists like Olivia Dean, Paramore, Pitbull, Justin Bieber, Chappell Roan, Zac Brown Band, Celine Dion, Bill Withers, and Frank Sinatra, all while featuring stunning violin and bold horn sections that elevated the sound. The jazz band during cocktail hour set the perfect, sophisticated beach club vibe, and the string trio during the ceremony was beautiful and emotional. Guests were constantly coming up to us in awe, saying they’d never seen a wedding band that talented or versatile. They had people on the dancefloor from the second the party started until the end!

KP&Co Design Studio was truly exceptional and brought our entire wedding vision and weekend to life in the most thoughtful, artistic way. She used watercolor to paint our venue with a stunning sunset for our save the dates, then designed wedding invitations featuring watercolor maps, conch-shell–shaped details, exquisite calligraphy, and personalized envelope liners filled with all of our favorite things and places. She went above and beyond for our day-of details as well, creating personalized menus, ceremony fans, cups, and napkins, and a large bar inlays that perfectly matched our invitation liner and monogram. The showstopper was our custom seating chart, complete with the most beautiful hand-painted parasols to match—it was all absolutely unforgettable.

She created gorgeous hand-painted table numbers, a stunning acrylic card box, and customized drink menu signs that felt both elegant and personal. Every piece was a true work of art and elevated the entire look of our celebration.[/field]

Good Times Roll Photobus was such a highlight of the night and brought the best energy to our celebration. Taking photos inside the vintage Volkswagen bus was incredibly fun and added the coolest, most playful vibe to the evening. They provided a beautiful wooden book that guests could put their pictures in and sign as a guestbook, which gave us a super fun way to remember the night. Guests loved the props, everyone got to take home photo keepsakes, and it was so much fun that some of the props even made their way onto the dance floor!

This editorial was inspired by that desire to reimagine a destination wedding in Italy through a contemporary, design-forward lens while honouring the richness of cultural storytelling. Planned and concepted by SJ Soirée alongside Strokes Photography, the vision focused on creating an experience that felt immersive, refined, and deeply connected to its surroundings rather than styled for the sake of aesthetics.

The property spans hundreds of hectares of vineyards, olive groves, and gardens, creating an idyllic natural backdrop that feels both timeless and deeply connected to the Italian countryside. As an organic farm and wine resort, the estate provides multiple event spaces ranging from tranquil botanical gardens to terraced views overlooking lakes and rolling hills, allowing for a variety of moments throughout the editorial that feel intimate, romantic,c and uniquely tied to place. Guests and couples alike can enjoy the onsite restaurant, spa, and panoramic pool areas that contribute to the sense of celebration and immersion in local culture, while historic architecture and verdant scenery anchor every frame with a sense of history and calm.

The fashion story unfolded through two distinct looks, both thoughtfully provided by Lotus Bloom and styled to reflect different moments of the celebration. For the ceremony, the model wore a white lehenga-inspired ensemble that felt both modern and timeless, pairing traditional craftsmanship with a refined silhouette that complemented the historic Italian setting. The look was elevated with carefully selected jewelry and accessories from Lotus Bloom, including statement pieces and a chic bag that added a contemporary layer while maintaining an overall sense of elegance. For the second look, the model changed into a draped saree designed for a more playful and celebratory cocktail moment. The fluid draping and relaxed styling brought movement and energy to the editorial, creating a sense of contrast while still feeling cohesive within the overall design narrative. Accessories from Lotus Bloom once again completed the look, seamlessly tying together fashion, culture, and modern styling in a way that felt intentional and effortless.

The florals and decor were designed to feel distinctly Italian while maintaining a refined and modern sensibility. A palette of green, white, and warm yellow tones was carried through the arrangements created by Silvia Merli, with seasonal blooms and lush greenery styled in an organic, garden-inspired manner that felt effortless rather than structured. Fresh lemons were incorporated throughout the design, adding vibrant pops of colour and reinforcing a sense of place rooted in the Italian countryside. To enhance the setting, white iron chairs were selected to complement the historic surroundings, paired with tabletop rentals from Nolo Party that included understated linens, refined tableware, and elegant glassware. The warm yellow of the lemons contrasted beautifully against the crisp whites and soft greens, creating a layered and visually engaging tablescape. The overall design balanced old-world charm with contemporary styling, resulting in a look that felt romantic, timeless, and fresh.

Guests were welcomed to the ceremony with mini espresso martini shooters upon arrival. Following the ceremony, hors d’oeuvres consisting of mahi mahi ceviche, mini beef wellington, bacon-wrapped dates, spicy chicken biscuit, and lobster rolls were passed during cocktail hour, to be paired with their specialty drinks: French 75 and Cynar Boulevardier. For the reception, guests were served baby iceberg wedge salads, a raspberry intermezzo course, and their choice of beef, chicken, fish, or vegetarian entrees. Upon enjoying a chocolate chip cookie bar and vanilla milkshake shooters for dessert, the guests ended the night with Chicago-style dogs and Italian beef sandwiches.

She played soccer, he played lacrosse, and what started on neighboring fields slowly grew into something lasting. Years later, while the two were living in San Diego, Danny planned a trip back to Denver with a surprise Cheyenne would never forget. He brought her to the very field where their story first took shape, carrying a scrapbook filled with photos and memories from their years together. Standing in the middle of the field that held so much meaning, Danny got down on one knee and asked Cheyenne to marry him.

Cocktail hour began with an abundant selection of passed hors d’oeuvres, including lobster rolls, smoked salmon blinis, Maryland crab cakes, bacon-wrapped shrimp skewers, Asian short rib pot pies, and mini Cuban sandwiches, setting a celebratory tone from the start. The bar complemented the evening with signature cocktails like a refreshing Sea Breeze and a classic margarita with fresh lime and agave, alongside domestic, imported, and craft beers, sparkling brut, and DAOU wines. The plated dinner service opened with a crisp romaine Caesar salad accented by smoked prosciutto, focaccia croutons, pickled peppers, white anchovy, and shaved Parmesan. A second course of miso-glazed king crab with potato confit, sea asparagus, and white garlic purée followed. For the main course, guests selected pan-roasted Scottish salmon with saffron vegetable orzo and chive beurre blanc, or slow-braised short rib served with truffle mashed potatoes, broccoli rabe, and bordelaise sauce. A creamy potato risotto with leeks, peas, roasted squash, and Parmesan offered a beautifully composed vegetarian option, rounding out a menu that felt indulgent, refined, and deeply memorable.

Crisp white chairs and an open-air layout completed the serene, understated scene. Under the creative direction of Jessica Nielsen with Creative Affairs, the reception carried that same relaxed sophistication. Round tables were dressed in crisp white linens and finished with low, abundant centerpieces of white florals and greenery. Delicate glassware, simple place settings, and soft candlelight added subtle texture, while café lights overhead and palm trees in the distance brought warmth and movement as the evening unfolded. The result was a cohesive design that balanced classic romance with effortless coastal elegance.

Created by Sifted & Sugared, the design featured a classic silhouette finished with intricate, hand-piped buttercream detailing. Set against the light-filled backdrop of the reception, the all-white design felt effortlessly elegant, proving that simplicity, when done well, can be just as striking as something ornate.[/field]

One of the most personal and playful details of the day came as a surprise from the groom to his groomsmen. A lifelong lover of sports and team culture, he gifted each of them custom bobbleheads made in their likeness, dressed in tuxedos and complete with their names. Equal parts thoughtful and fun, the keepsakes celebrated the bond they share and added a lighthearted, memorable moment to the wedding weekend. It was a nod to the groom’s passions while honoring the friendships that have stood by him through every season.

Another meaningful detail came to life through the seating display, inspired by the couple’s love for the ocean and their coastal setting. The bride envisioned guests finding their names displayed on seashells, each one doubling as a keepsake from the day. To make it even more personal, the groom went diving himself to collect each shell by hand. Arranged atop a vintage silver tray, the shells felt both organic and elegant, tying the setting to the sea in a way that was thoughtful, heartfelt, and entirely one of a kind.

A Three-Day Celebration in Shades of Pink with Modern Style and a Sunlit Poolside Finale

Daniela perfectly planned a 3-day event to spend high-quality time with her closest family and friends. On the first day, she welcomed her guests with an elegant and minimal formal Rehearsal Dinner at the Villa. On the Wedding Day, she preferred a romantic but modern mood at the same time. For the last day, she decided on an easy-going event around the pool to enjoy the sun with the family.

After a rich Italian Aperitivo served on the terrace overlooking the view of the countryside, the guests were invited to be accommodated for a multi-course seated dinner in front of the Villa. The menu included a red shrimp and truffle tartare served with a gold leaf, followed by a Risotto with prawns, asparagus, and saffron, and Schiaffoni fresh pasta with fresh Burrata and truffle as First courses. For the Main course, Sesame-crusted red tuna steak, with crispy artichokes, and Modena balsamic vinegar was served together with a fresh spinach salad with nuts and balsamic vinegar. An iced lemon sorbet was the perfect ending for such a delicious and sophisticated dinner before the wedding cake.

The floral design by Flowers Living florist was nothing less than a dream realized, thanks to a mix of a refined color palette of different shades of pink. The goal was to create a sophisticated ceremony setup that perfectly matched the Art Deco style of the Tempietto in the ceremony garden. The flower selection included white peonies for the bridal bouquet, pink and purple hydrangea, English and quick roses, pink gypsophila, and pink carnations.

Daniela and Alessandro decided to have 2 Wedding Cakes: Daniela really wanted a master piece multi-tiers wedding cake, like the one that Marisa, the pastry chef from Sugarcups, made specifically for this wedding: a 4 tiers wedding cake decorated with leaves and flowers in total white, big and ethereal at the same time. Alessandro really wanted a traditional Italian Millefoglie prepared in front of the guests: thenewlywed really enjoyed finishing the cake with sugar and mixed berries.

Set in the heart of Charleston, Mary and John envisioned a Gibbes Museum of Art wedding that felt elevated yet joyful, rooted in Southern tradition while embracing a refined, artful sensibility. Their vision centered on creating a celebration that honored the historic architecture of the city while introducing fresh color, layered texture, and thoughtful moments of whimsy. Soft pastel florals and painterly hues of blush, ice blue, and pistachio green formed the foundation of the palette, complemented by crisp whites, tailored black tie details, and warm wood accents. Masculine undertones were subtly woven throughout the design to ground the lighter tones, from bentwood chairs and paneled bar fronts to classic tuxedos and dark green patterned Nuage Designs linens for tabletops. The overall effect was garden-inspired yet polished, playful yet timeless. Rather than relying on a single statement moment, the day unfolded through a series of beautifully considered spaces throughout Charleston. The couple and their wedding parties got ready at the gorgeous Dewberry hotel in the heart of the city. Guests moved from the grandeur of Second Presbyterian Church to the curated galleries of the Gibbes Museum of Art, and finally into an open-air courtyard transformed into an elegant garden party beneath a sailcloth tent.

The kumquats were woven throughout the reception design, appearing in table centerpieces, bar arrangements, and floral compotes, adding both color and a personal nod to the couple’s connection to Florida. The reception courtyard at the Gibbes Museum of Art was transformed into an elegant garden setting beneath a sailcloth tent. Patterned green linens from Nuage and BBJ La Tavola layered the tables, paired with bentwood chairs that added warmth and texture. A long pistachio green paneled bar with arched shelving anchored the space and served as both a functional and visual focal point, seamlessly blending into the surrounding design. The centerpiece of the evening was a grand floral installation arranged in a terracotta vessel and positioned at the heart of the reception, surrounded by four white lounge sofas. This sculptural arrangement created a striking yet inviting focal point, encouraging guests to gather and linger throughout the night. Before guests entered the courtyard, they were greeted by a coordinating floral arrangement on a round table displaying escort cards in the shape of the couple’s dogs, miniature dachshunds, offering a preview of the whimsical garden-inspired design waiting beyond.

A Tuscan Ruins Wedding Inspired by the Italian Renaissance at Rosewood Castiglion del Bosco

The effect was perfectly in harmony with the Tuscan countryside and the ruins where the ceremony took place.

During dinner, Chardonnay and Brunello di Montalcino wines were served to the guests.

The goal was to create the effect as they grew spontaneously around the ruins and along the aisle of the ceremony. The flower selection included peonies for the bridal bouquet, English roses, quick roses, digitalis, clematis, delphinium, and eucalyptus.
