Intimate Garden Wedding in St. Augustine

This wedding has it all.  Lush, peach-hued florals from Jade Violet Wedding Florals, sweet details orchestrated by Coastal Celebrations and an adorable bride and groom who know everything there is to know about throwing an intimate + seriously awesome garden party. (Hint: There’s Mac ‘n’ Cheese.) Head to THE VAULT to soak in every moment captured by Still55 Photography.  It’s a must-see.

From Still55 Photography… When we first met Sara, her smile immediately lit up the room! Sara & Dan have such warm spirits, and are so thoughtful and bright, just like their wedding day. They truly admire their friends and family. The style of the wedding reflected Sara’s love for Florida and the timeless warmth of her soul. With the expertise of Lindsay at Costal Celebrations, Sara drew inspiration from the spring season at hand and the state she loved most. Thoughtful touches of mint and peach adorned the historic venue in the heart of our nation’s oldest city. The Pena-Peck House in St. Augustine Florida was the perfect place for Sara’s intimate garden affair. Gorgeous lush floral arrangements transformed the already historically tranquil courtyard into the ideal outdoor garden wedding.

Following the ceremony, guests were treated to a private trolly tour of St. Augustine. Hand-crafted vintage oak whiskey barrels were placed throughout the garden as high top tables for guest to enjoy while sipping Sara and Dan’s signature cocktails. The tablescapes showcased their love for the Florida coast. Weathered lanterns were surrounded by understated arrangements that allowed guest to enjoy each other’s company from any vantage point of the table. Brimming colors, and carefully considered touches throughout her wedding welcomed guest in a way that will inspire any bride aiming for a colorful affair in the South. We can’t forget to mention the decadent dessert table! With seven cakes to try and fruity Starburst and Jolly Rancher candies, a sweet treat was absolutely irresistible.

From The Bride… From the historical sites and culture to the laid-back atmosphere of the pedestrian-only St. George Street, Dan and I love the warmth and history of St. Augustine. Both born and raised in New York, we were engaged in St. Augustine while on vacation. As soon as we began wedding planning, we knew we wanted to bring our closest family and friends back to the Old City to celebrate our marriage.

As a couple, Dan and I are low key, center-of-attention-avoiders who like to laugh and not take things so seriously. We prefer jeans and flip-flops to dresses and ties. It was important to us that we keep that sense of who we are on our big day.  So our vision was simple – an intimate day that embraced who we are as a couple and incorporated the city surrounding us. All printed materials, from the informal invitations and ceremony program fans to the menu (complete with southern staples like mac & cheese and collard greens) and craft paper placemats, were designed to give the wedding the laid-back, backyard get-together feel we were hoping to achieve.

To incorporate the City, the ceremony and reception took place in the garden of The Pena Peck House, directly on St. George Street. Guests enjoyed a trolley ride in between the ceremony and the reception where they toured the city and learned about the history. The wedding colors – peach, coral and mint – were reflective of the colors found on the old buildings throughout town and the “old Florida” feel we love about St. Augustine. Our favorite memory of the wedding was our sparkler exit onto St. George Street, where guests and random pedestrians gathered to cheer and shout well wishes as we departed on a pedi-cab.

In an effort to make the wedding reflective of our personalities, it was important to us that we vowed to love each other in our own words. We threw out traditions like a large bridal party and opted for a single Matron of Honor, Best Man and our nieces and nephew as flower girls and ring bearer. Instead of a tiered wedding cake with a formal cake cutting, we went with a number of cakes so guests could help themselves and choose their favorite flavor.

My favorite DIY element of our wedding was our seating placemats. Dan and I both work for civil engineering companies; it’s how we first met. To incorporate that important detail of our relationship into the day, Dan designed an engineering site plan “map” of St. Augustine with all of the important wedding locations as well as the tourist places we encouraged our guests to explore. We gave this map to our guests in their hotel welcome bags (tote bags printed with “Dan + Sara, Totes Gettin’ Married”) and also printed them on craft paper to use as seating placemats during the reception. It was a unique way to decorate the tables as well as incorporate the City and our relationship into the wedding.

My advice to brides-to-be is to never lose sight of who you and your fiancé are as a couple; don’t get caught up in all of the wedding traditions you think you should have. Not all couples (or brides) love to be the center of attention. Look at the reasons why you love each other and what you both feel comfortable with. Then incorporate those unique details into your planning. There are endless ways to make the day reflective of your own personalities.

Elegant Tuscan Inspired Backyard Wedding in Florida

Honestly, where do I begin!? How about the fact that this pair wed in the Groom’s grandparents backyard, or that every single vendor was a dear friend. It’s details like these that land this celebration in THE VAULT. Because when it comes to a union of souls woven together with talented and trusted vendors, you better bet it’s a gallery we’ve gone gaga over. See it all captured by Jennifer Blairhere!

[iframe http://www.youtube.com/embed/_aVhrO9U5r4 600 338]

From Jennifer BlairKaylie is a dear friend and I cannot express how much of an honor it was to create these beautiful memories from her day. I don’t know of any other wedding that has been more true to a couple. This wedding epitomized this couple so well. Everything about their intimate affair was a representation of their personalities and relationship. Kaylie & Cory chose each detail with purpose. Kaylie’s love for white and European-inspired details were woven throughout the theme. Even though the rain called for a change of plans, nothing kept the day from being a dream. Kaylie had originally wanted to elope, but Cory knew that this version of their wedding would be best. I dare say he was right. They put so much of themselves into every detail of this intimate affair. Everything had meaning, from having their nuptials on family land to making sure each vendor was a friend.

From The Bride…This day. These vendors. Let me start at the beginning and tell you that I wanted to elope. My now husband wanted us to have a wedding. What we had was the most beautiful and intimate combination of both. It surpassed anything that I had hoped for. To stick with our intimate appeal, we got married in Cory’s grandparent’s back yard. They have an open field that was perfect for our aesthetic. We are both drawn to things small, not showy, authentic, elegant and family-like. That is how we picked our vendors and details.

First came our wedding photographer, Jennifer Blair, a dear friend of mine that I met in college. From the beginning, there was no other that would do our photos. Our wedding videographer was Andrew Lanier Arts, our brother-in-law. Our stationer, stylist and florist was one of our favorite people and dear friends, Victoria Austin Designs. The man that not only gave me away but preached our wedding was my Dad. This alone was enough. Lastly, my makeup was done by the phenomenal Morgan King Makeup. Morgan and I have worked together in the past on shoots, so when it came to my wedding day, I knew she would be the one.

Our wedding vendors made our wedding. Seriously. They were our friends. They were people we trusted, knew and cherished. Having them as apart of our day and there for the moments that made us one are very special to us. The rest of the day was fate. Florals, Italian food, white tablescapes, flowing dresses, laughter and all of our family under one tent in the middle of an open field. For us, this was everything a wedding should be.

Seaside Sunrise Boho Elopement

With the sun and sea in mind, this darling duo decided to take to the shore for the sunrise seaside elopement of their dreams… Until their parents found out! Soon their party of two became six, but the experts at Elleson Events had it all set, creating a casually elegant boho brunch that elopement dreams are made of, and we’ve got all the Hunter Ryan Photo-captured pretty right here in The Vault!

From Hunter Ryan PhotoLindsay, a designer from New York City and her fiance Tomasz decided a sweet elopement on the shores of Captiva Island would be the perfect fuss-free way to celebrate their union as husband and wife. Until…their parents found out! So their 2 person elopement turned into a small celebration of 6 as both of their parents joined in on their sunrise nuptials. It ended up being even better with them there than they’d even imagined though!

Lindsay and Tomasz absolutely love the early morning sunrises on Captiva Island – and fell in love with the idea of marrying at dawn. With the help of Stylist, Hollie of Elleson events – Lindsay’s design dreams for a pretty boho seasisde wedding became reality. Lindsay knew she wanted very little color – just a simple white and earthy vibe mixed with greens -nothing to take away from the natural beauty of the Island. They read one another sweet heartfelt hand-written vows and threw seashells into the ocean as they blessed their seaside union as one.

After the ceremony- the 6 had a private beach breakfast reception, which was the epitome of casual elegance. Muted marble placemats, hand-drawn placecards and driftwood set the tone for the meal. No celebration is complete without champagne and cake though – so the couple opted for a mimosa bar and waffle stack cake. :)

Romantic Blush Boca Raton Wedding

Bejeweled heels, mantilla veils, classy invites and settings like this? It’s no wonder this sweet fete at The Addison has me stuck in The Vault gallery for days. And beyond the beautiful bits, live the moments like this that have me wrapped up in all the love, thanks to the handiwork of Graham Terhune. See more right this way.

From The Groom…We met doing an ER rotation in Jacksonville, FL. We met on the first day when Meg’s key card didn’t work and she had to stay after orientation to get it fixed. Perfect opportunity…I got my perfectly functional key card fixed too. After that we checked the schedule and made a point to run into each other whenever possible. After two weeks I asked Meg to dinner and we have been inseparable since.

From The Bride…I am a small town Southern girl from North Carolina and Anthony is from a big sweet Cuban family in Miami. After searching we found a beautiful restored house in Boca Raton with an elegant covered courtyard. The Banyon trees made a romantic outside space and put us over the top. I wanted to include soft southern details so I chose a color palette with blush, gold and ivory (let’s be honest I’ve had these wedding colors picked out for quite a while). Our sweet pastor from NC and my amazing photographer friends flew in as well. My selfless southern mother made her renown blueberry jam for all the wedding guests. The day was fun, romantic, full of dancing and filled with Southern charm. God gave us this day and it was more perfect than Anthony and I could have ever imagined. It was the best day of our lives so far and couldn’t have been possible without all these wonderful people.

Romantic Summer Wedding at Southern Hills Plantation Club

Rain, rain go away….while this beautiful Bride may have been singing this tune at first, summer showers couldn’t keep smiles away as she said “I do” to her high school sweetheart. Jacqui Cole’s too-pretty-for-words pics are all in our Vault right this way and while these photos will have you occupied for hours, do not miss this Bride’s wise words at the end; they might be some of my favorite bits of advice to date.

From Jacqui Cole Photography… I love this wedding I’m sharing with you today. From the brightly lit getting ready bridal portraits to the perfect romantic reception details it’s not one to be missed.

Katherine and Michael wed at Southern Hills Plantation Club. The club itself sits grandly at the top of the hill and overlooks an incredible view. While Katherine had her heart set on an outdoor wedding ceremony on the golf course, Tampa had other plans. We got hit with some of the worst flooding the city has ever seen. But rest assured, no amount of rain could dampen this bride’s’ spirits! The club swiftly and effectively switched the ceremony site to the wrap around style porch. They wed under a flower arch as the rain fell in the background.

The weather gave a break just in time for portraits! The beautiful extended ribbons on the bouquets blew in the wind so elegantly. I especially loved Katherine’s flower crown! The reception was highlighted with elements of blush, ivory and gold accents. The perfect backdrop for Katherine and Michael’s plantation wedding.

From The Bride…Michael and I started dating when we were sophomores in high school and have been inseparable ever since, through the end of high school, through Florida State University, and now on to our (semi) adult lives. In high school, every grade was in charge of putting on a dance and skit to compete in the high school pep rally. Michael and I were thrown together as partners in the dance. After the Homecoming pep rally, Michael made up excuses to text me on the weekends, and we quickly became good friends.

On December 30th, 2008, we went and saw the movie, “Seven Pounds.” Being the crafty person he is, Michael set up a plan to ask me to be his girlfriend. He knew I would ask to play with his phone, so he set up a banner on the front screen that said, “Will you be my girlfriend?” After talking through the movie and missing the entire plot, sure enough, I asked Michael if I could see his phone. He handed it to me, and I read the message. Obviously, I said yes to being his girlfriend, and six years later, I said yes to being his wife. He proposed to me in beautiful Santorini, Greece the day before my birthday.

We searched all over Tampa Bay for a venue, but I couldn’t find anything that was effortless, romantic, and beautiful without lots of decorations. Finally, I stumbled across Southern Hills Plantation Club, and the moment we drove the gate, I knew we would get married there.

When we picked vendors, we really loved the people who focused on our relationship and our upcoming marriage, not people who just threw packages and price tags at us. The vendors who really asked about what we were looking for and wanted to know more about who we are as a couple – those were the vendors we ultimately went with. It meant a lot to me that they understood our personalities and styles instead of trying to fit us into one of their packages or proposals.

Style-wise, I knew I was looking for very specific things. I didn’t want anything formal, stuffy, or very traditional. I wanted everything to be romantic and elegant with an organic feel. That was one of the main reasons we chose Jacqui Cole, our photographer, who was such a key part of our entire experience. Greens, soft pinks, and whites were what really stood out to me as I flipped through magazine after magazine after blog ( including Style Me Pretty :) ).

There were so many surreal, beautiful moments throughout the day. One was during the reception afterwards when we were all dancing. It just hit me that all of our closest friends and family were here for us, to celebrate us, and it was amazing to have them all in one room. Another one of my favorite memories is looking at Michael when we were exchanging our vows. It was so crazy that a day we had talked about since we were 16 years old was finally here. I think my absolute favorite memory was when we were in the limo by ourselves after everything was over. It finally sunk in that our wedding was over, and we could really start our marriage, which was what we were looking forward to the most.

My biggest piece of advice to brides is to remember this is all about you and your husband. Yes, it’s about your family and friends, but you’re marrying the man of your dreams. Try to focus on what he wants, and not what your mom, or your in-laws, or your friends want from your wedding. Make your decisions as a couple, and your wedding planning will be a breeze.

Romantic + Brunch Inspired Outdoor Wedding

I’m totally on board with a breakfast fueled fête, and this sweet beginning is one lovefest I would’ve vied to attend. From their cafe proposal to the outdoor ceremony followed by cups of coffee, it’s a story filled with significance, champagne cupcakes (yum!), and endless DIY details. Kallima Photography snapped the entire scene to share in The Vault!

From Kallima Photography… The Bride did all of the invitations, paper, and hand lettering. The Groom built the K&J sign in table (it’s pretty amazing).

From The Bride…One of mine and Jason’s favorite things to do together, is have breakfast and coffee. When Jason proposed to me, we were at our favorite coffee shop in Savannah, The Foxy Loxy Cafe. He asked if I would like to have breakfast and coffee with him for the rest of our lives and I of course said, yes. We knew we wanted to share something we both enjoy with our family and friends on our wedding day, so we knew a breakfast for dinner theme was the way to go.

I am a graphic designer and Jason works in custom home design, so everything from creating a wedding logo, to building backdrops was a lot of fun for us. We enjoyed working together to add a personal touch to this special day. But I can say for sure, this day wouldn’t have turned out the way it did without help from our family, friends, and awesome vendors. Planning a wedding can be stressful, but when the day is over and the two of you run hand in hand through bubbles and past cheering friends and family, you simply can’t stop smiling because you both feel more love in one beautiful day than you could have ever imagined.

Black Tie Palm Beach Wedding

I’m a big believer in the moments in between moments. A mother zipping up her daughter in that most important dress. A darling crew of littles totting down the aisle. The Groom whispering “I love yous” in his beloved Bride’s ear. They’re the moments great storytellers like Jessica Lorren capture with such care, and you can see each one waiting in The Vault.

From The Bride…George and I met my freshman year at Vanderbilt University and had been together for about 8 years before we got married this past April. We lived in Nashville, Charlotte and New York City before settling in his hometown of Pittsburgh, PA. I was raised in Windermere, FL. His family is Greek and mine is a mix of Italian, Guatemalan, Venezuelan and British. On the night we got engaged, neither of us slept a wink. We stayed up all night talking about our future and how we were going to celebrate the start of that new life with our wedding.

We love traveling and entertaining around good stories and delicious meals. We knew we wanted to create a night that felt true to us, our families, and backgrounds. Florida will always have a special place in my heart so we started touring both coasts for the perfect venue. We wanted something tropical and true to the Florida lifestyle. However, we wanted the destination to be rich in history and also have a unique culture. We found that exactly in the town of Palm Beach, FL. The small barrier island off of the Southeast coast of Florida has just that: rich in history, and a truly unique feel. Once we had good vibes for Palm Beach, the Henry Morrison Flagler Museum was an easy first choice for the location of our ceremony and reception. The island was practically established by Henry Morrison Flagler and his home (now turned museum) is a reflection of the glamour and old world history that made Palm Beach what it is today.

Under the guidance of our fantastic wedding planner, Breeze Taylor, we crafted a night that felt completely unique to us. We wanted our guests to collaboratively feel like they were an integral part of the celebration all night. The band invited everyone to come out and dance with us at the end of our first dance. Dance sets were sprinkled throughout the whole night, and in between speeches and dinner courses. We wanted guests to constantly feel like they were part of making the celebration come to life. We worked with an incredible caterer that helped us custom create a multi course dinner that included old family recipes, dishes we loved to make at home, as well as some of our favorite NYC restaurant inspired creations. Our incredible floral design team brought my organically elegant, secret-garden inspired vision come to life in their creation of our bouquets, table arrangements, and ceremony archway. Our Earth & Sugar almond and vanilla buttercream cake was out of this world delicious and looked every bit as dreamy as well.

Our weekend was beautifully captured by the ultra-talented Jessica Lorren. Not only does she have the best eye for capturing moments in the most unique yet organic light, but she is truly a beautiful person with the most radiant personality. Having such a warm presence around us on such a special occasion truly made our day complete.

Glamour Sailing Engagement in Miami

I’m kind of obsessed with this engagement shoot from Hunter Ryan Photo in the best possible way. Sailboats and salty air are always a sure fire way to my heart, but add in a gorgeous couple that is totally and completely in love with each other – and I’m a complete goner. These images turned my heart into mush, and you can see why here.

From Hunter Ryan Photo… Amanda and Nick recently moved from Columbus, Ohio to South Florida. They knew they wanted to take advantage of the beauty and salty air and sea for their engagement shoot. Amanda teamed up with Hollie of Elleson Events to create the engagement of her dreams. She describes her and Nick’s style as relaxed J Crew but they love to get dressed up for a night out too! They commissioned a private sailboat charter for their engagement and Hollie paired their relaxed preppy style with some classic glamour and a little candlelight. It was perfection on the high seas at sunset in Miami. When your sweet clients end the day by saying that their shoot was “the best day ever, ” and that “we’ve never had more fun,” you know it was an amazing day!

Southern Simplicity Inspiration Shoot

As someone who grew up in the south, that part of the country will always hold a special place in my heart. So when I see a shoot like this beautiful work of art from E. M. Anderson Photography, I get nostalgic in the best possible way. With stunning florals from Milk & Honey, gorgeous stationery from CEW Calligraphy, and one ridiculously beautiful model – this gallery is southern perfection.

From E.M. Anderson PhotographySet against the backdrop of the historical Florida home of author Harriet Beecher Stowe, this shoot was inspired by the concept of a Southern tomboy all grown up. Simple styling, family heirlooms and truly southern sweets all worked together to create a relaxed and elegant mood.

The beautiful calligraphy lent an even more handmade and personal feel, and the floral design was natural and a little wild, incorporating southern icons like magnolias and peaches. All the silver and place settings were my own great grandmothers and I was so pleased to incorporate a sense of tradition by including them.

Overall, we wanted to inspire brides that their wedding design doesn’t need to be glamorous or extravagant to be beautiful, but that there is inherent confidence and elegance in humble, simple things. I think the legendary Coco Chanel said it best, “Simplicity is the keynote of all true elegance.”

From You Look Lovely PhotographyA short drive west of Orlando is the beautiful Bella Collina Golf Club, the setting of this gorgeous wedding of Mike and Michelle. With an unconventional palette of fuchsia, deep red and gold, the wedding was a colorful display of classic elegance. The event designed by Peplum Events and Design featured intricate details like gold antique candle holder with fuchsia Taper candles, hand dyed ribbon, golden flatware, and hand-lettered menus placed in front of every unique seat lined against the communal table.

Peplum Events and Design also created the stunning centerpieces and bridal bouquet featuring the showstopping King Protea flower. Three cakes designed by Gigi-Mamma Cakes bordered a separate table with the main dessert being an incredible three-layer, guava and cream cheese filled, naked cake draped in Juliet roses, figs, and eucalyptus branches. The bride and groom’s English Sheepdog, Joy, even took part in the festivities dressed in a dyed ribbon and eucalyptus wreath.

As a memento of the day, a local cartoonist came and drew caricatures for each of the guests long into the night. The guests also enjoyed various seating arrangements, like the Lola Sofa and Mumford Leather Sofa provided by Unearthed Vintage, strategically placed around the back terrace of Bella Collina.

The bride and groom shared their surreal and intimate celebration with their one year old son and just over 20 guests as the sun was setting. The three of them departed together under the glow of a sparkler send off.

Intimate Island Elopement Inspiration

If you’ve ever dreamed of frolicking on pristine, isolated sandy shores, with a handsome man and armful of blushing botanicals in tow, then this, my loves, is the inspiration shoot that dreams are made of. Photographer Melanie Gabrielle captured every last piece of pretty to perfection, and this gallery will have you daydreaming of an elopement in your own tropical paradise in no time.

Whimsical

From Melanie GabrielleI have always loved the idea of elopements. Just two people who are crazy in love, a faraway land full of adventure, and a promise to love each other for the rest of their lives. What an absolute dream!

For this shoot, I really wanted to provide brides who are thinking of eloping with inspiration. To show them that just because you’re eloping, doesn’t mean you have to give up on your dream details or a small picnic on the beach. It also doesn’t mean you have to spend a lot to have a beautiful ceremony or dinner setup. We wanted to inspire these brides to use the surrounding nature to help bring their dream wedding to life.

This couple eloped on the beach a few months prior to our session, so it brought an extra meaning to the day! Roxanne Bellamy Events put together the most darling picnic on the beach with french pastries and baguettes to pay homage to our French groom, while Ever After Floral Designs put together one of the most stunning, yet simple ceremony space using one of the unique palm trees on the island. We had so much fun exploring the island and dipping our toes in the ocean. And the islands didn’t disappoint with a breathtaking pastel sunset.

Elegant Black Tie Tampa Yacht Club Wedding

Lesson learned from these elegant yacht club nuptials? Twinkling lights, gleaming gold and baby blue details, and tuxedos as far as the eye can see make for one beautiful set of “I Do’s.” Lucky for us, Kallima Photography was there to capture all the pretty — from the endless laughs to the enviable ‘maid squad moments — and we’ve got it all in the gallery right here!

From Kallima PhotographyKate and Josh had a gorgeous classic black tie wedding in Tampa, Fl. The bride and groom chose the Tampa Yacht and County club for their reception venue. Guests were treated to a band underneath a clear tent in the back of the club overlooking Tampa Bay. The clear tent featured hanging floral arrangements and strung lights. For their ceremony, the couple was married at the Jesuit School chapel, and they were the last couple to ever be married there as the chapel was to be renovated just after the day. The couple was sent off with a sparkler exit.

Tropical + Bohemian Florida Wedding Inspiration

With one of the most beautiful color stories I’ve ever seen, a naturally gorgeous model bride, and a seemingly endless roster of tropical blooms (orchids, ginger, and protea, oh my!), this stunning tropical-hued inspiration shoot from Leah Dorr Photography is going to be one you’ll come back to again and again. Take a peek at all the pretty below, then click through the full gallery here for the rest!

Bohemian

From Leah Dorr PhotographyThere’s a softness, an elegance, a peaceful vibe found in a tropical setting; that’s what my vendor team and I wanted to portray! When we came up with the concept of a tropical, bohemian feel to our shoot, we really wanted to push past the typical bright, bold, primary color pallet. We used colors that pulled from mother of pearl, sand, honeydew, sea glass, and star fruit, along with that great sea foam color in the air plants and crisp white and gold accents to create a cool, clean foundation. The tangerine in the dress, ruffles of the cake, and the pop of orchid in the tablescape added a great flirtatiousness while the geometric shapes and metallic touches added an edge. All of this coupled with a messy fish-tail braid and a beautiful B & B as the backdrop made for an event that I myself would love to attend. The shoot had a fresh, airy and bright feel to it! Strongly inspired by the sunny, tropical blossoms of summer, our inspiration for the shoot was bohemian, but still remained elegant and classy.

Ashlee from Simply Roses Florist added an incredible amount of beauty to the shoot with gorgeous blooms! Tilandsia and xerographica plants, anthurium, calathea, queen protea, ranunculus, blushing bride protea, mokara orchids, bamboo shoots, and eremurus made for an exquisite and modern look! The soft and graceful look of the bride’s hair and make up was created by the very talented Noelle from Marjan Salon. The one of a kind ombre dipped dress was created by Erin from RCB Fashion. The gold and ivory pearly hand-crafted jewelry was made by the talented Corinna from Corinna Maggy Designs. The four tiered cake with ombre ruffles was made by Sherri from The Pastry Studio. The leafy invitation suite was made by Brydon from Brydon Paper Designs.

Bright + Whimsical Winter Park Wedding

There are stunning weddings, and then there is this day captured brilliantly by Amalie Orrange Photography.  A vibrant + colorful affair with some of the most amazing details you will ever see (truly). Think insanely beautiful florals from Shea Hopely Flowers, the whimsical stylings of Flaire Events and a donut bar (!) for all things yummy.  Head to The Vault for the entire (crazy cool) gallery, then check out the film from Seltzer Films below.

From Amalie Orrange Photography… Shannon and David were married in a gorgeous church, St. Andrews, in Sanford, Florida. With stunning sprawling landscape and a beautiful back drop we had the best time with these two! Our jaws dropped when we walked into their reception space at The Winter Park Racquet Club, there were pops of pink, sherbet and amethyst… so dreamy! I think our favorite details was the wooden chargers and the donut bar, hello donuts!!

From The Bride… It was almost like something out of the movie, Love and other Drugs. We were both pharmaceutical reps selling competing products; so we ran into each other for the first time in a doctors office. Then a few weeks later, David’s past partner started working for my company and asked me to meet up for lunch. Being from out of town, she asked if I minded if another friend met up with us. Of course I said “not a problem!” That friend was David. It was at that lunch that we discovered we were born in the same hospital five hours away, and had lived a few miles away from each other the majority of our lives.

A few of my favorite things include coffee, holidays and water. His proposal couldn’t have been any more perfect in my mind. It was Thanksgiving morning and we woke up early to load up the car to travel to see family. David asked me to go have our morning coffee on the dock in his backyard that overlooked the lake. I walked out the back porch in my pajamas and no make up, with coffee in hand. As we sat on the dock he asked me “What are you thankful for on this Thanksgiving?” I said a few things… then set him up perfectly asking “What are you thankful for?” He looked at me and said “God giving me you”. He went on about all the things he loved about me and didn’t want to spend another day without me being more than a girlfriend to him!  He pulled the ring out his old sweatshirt and that’s when I saw the ring box of an old family friend’s jewelry store. He told me the story about how he had a few cushion cut diamonds hand picked by this jeweler from Antwerp and brought back for him to choose the special one for my ring to be designed around. It was nothing short of the most the most thoughtful gift, presented in the most intimate way on my favorite holiday!

Romantic Boho Engagement Shoot

Take one adorable duo, a stunning locale like Washington Oaks Garden State Park and a talented photog that loves them both dearly and the results are this: a breathtaking (+ seriously sweet) engagement sesh sure to brighten even the dreariest of work weeks.  Think one light-filled image after another, plus a cute pup.  Head to The Vault for even more captured by Jenna Alexander.  It’s all sorts of awesome.

From Jenna Alexander… Wowsers, I love this engagement session!

So it’s kind of a cool story how I met these two. I was at my shop one day and all of a sudden a soops cute couple walked in. They left and another couple walked in and… no, i’m just kidding, John and Emily were the soops cute couple! So anyway, they walked in and said something like, “Hey! are you Jenna? We’re best friends with Meredith (former bride / my best friend’s sister)!”  After that first encounter, we became instant friends. Emily and I bonded over crafting, yoga, and running, and Za and John bonded over surfing, being outside, and eating.

The week before John proposed to Emily, he called me up and asked me if I should shoot the proposal or just engagement photos, after she said “yes,” of course. Knowing Emily, I thought she’d like to pick out a cute dress for a photo shoot (which she did), so I suggested the latter. And here we are now.

Below you’ll find John and Emily’s engagement photos taken at the most beautiful state park, Washington Oaks! Wow. It’s beautiful, and so is this couple. I’m beyond happy for these two to tie the knot! Hope you enjoy their photos!

Colorful Rustic Spring Wedding at Bowing Oaks Plantation

This is one of those weddings where you think you’ve picked a favorite part, and then a couple pics later and that part has some competition. I was loving these colorful, succulent splattered bouquets, but then had a good look at the Bride’s blossom in her hair and I just can’t decide what’s better. Or how about the antique plates? Or the look on this Groom’s face when he saw his blushing Bride? See what I mean? Lucky for us, Julie Paisley captured them all and this gallery is full of these goodies for us to Pin away!

Rustic

From Julie Paisley… Sometimes it rains on your wedding day and you have to go to the back up plan, but that didn’t take away the joy from this day. The ceremony was all set up under the big oak tree but Florida in the spring can have a mind of it’s own. In spite of the last minute change of moving the ceremony inside, the wedding still went on with smiles from all.

I really loved Bekah’s style. The different colors of the wedding dresses, the floral print ties on the groomsmen and the mix-matched china place settings tied in her rustic/vintage theme. Beautiful venue and beautiful details tied it all together giving us a fresh alternative from the traditional blush/pink rustic style. Bekah’s heritage is Irish, in fact, the majority of the guests made the trip to FL from Ireland for the wedding and her grandfather officiated the wedding. It was pure joy to shoot this wedding, beauty for the eye and the love of family for the soul.

Classic Cuban-American wedding

Beautifully classic but with a spirited twist, this gorgeous couple and their team of talented vendors brought their “vintage tropics” vision to life in the prettiest of ways. Elite Planning Firm and Ever After Floral Design made sure every little detail was perfect, and thanks to Merari Photography we can get lost in all the lovely here.

From The Bride…Carlos and I dated for four years before Carlos proposed at the place where we first met: The National Museum of American History in Washington, DC.

When we started dating the music video for Taylor Swift’s “You Belong With Me” had just come out, and I went on and on about how I was nervous that some teen girl was going to show up at prom with a paper saying “I love you” and the boy she was into wouldn’t reciprocate. Then the first time that I told Carlos I loved him, he pulled that note out of his pocket! Then he surprised me by saving it, framing it, and gifting it to me on our wedding day.

As the wedding planning began, we knew we wanted to incorporate the Miami tropics and our Cuban heritage into the celebration. Mayrelis from Elite Planning took the “vintage tropics” concept and brought it to life. Helen from Ever After Floral Designs incorporated neutral colored blooms, tropical greenery, succulents, metallic vases, wooden bowls, candles and vintage cigar boxes into the romantic tablescapes. Joy Wallace Catering created a menu of island-inspired dishes, including quinoa-crusted mahi mahi, braised beef vaca frita and yucca with pulled chicken. Event Factor kept the Salsa music playing all night long. The night ended with a lively Hora Loca and mini Cuban fritas!
