The Live floral bar display was such a gorgeous way to incorporate the floral design into the other areas of the venue that guests would be experiencing. [/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]The couple had a gorgeous wedding cake adorned with edible wild flowers, and a dessert bar including a peanut m&m’s candy station, Tahoe House Bakery Cookies (Swiss Kisses and Bear Sugar Cookies), and selection of 4 types of wedding cakes including; Carrot Cake with cream cheese icing, Lemon cake with raspberry gelee, Vanilla Cake with lemon curd, and Chocolate cake with chocolate ganache.[/field]

[field title=”Special Detail #2″]The escort card display was the centerpiece of design for this wedding including hand tied, calligraphed cards with table numbers written on individual leaves for the guests to find their seats.[/field]

A Cheerful And Charming Gibson Island Club Wedding

Welcome to a celebration of love, joy, and bright hues on the enchanting shores of Gibson Island. Elizabeth Bailey Weddings planned a day where whimsy and romance intertwine in a beautiful display of carefully curated details and special touches. Floral design by Sweet Root Village brings the love story to life. Every magical moment is artfully captured in photography by Lisa Blume Photography, see it all inside the full gallery.

From the bride… We always knew we wanted to get married at Gibson Island! During our dating years, we spent many weekends at Gibson hanging out at the beach, playing golf, or enjoying long walks. It quickly became a place that we went together almost every weekend in the summer where we made a ton of amazing memories. Also, it was the perfect location since it was so close to my home in Baltimore, which made it convenient for family and friends.

We also love Annapolis since Ryan attended the Naval Academy which is why we chose Annapolis for our rehearsal dinner and welcome drinks. We felt so lucky to have been members at the ideal wedding location for the both of us! We met in D. C. In the spring of 2019 when Ryan was still in the Navy, and I was working my first job out of college. We met through Hinge and had our first date over drinks at Churchkey on 14th St.; then the rest was history!

As cliche as it sounds, our favorite moment was the ceremony. The weather turned out perfect, and it was a special time to share our love for each other in front of all our friends and family. Other close runners-up were the first look and, of course, dancing after dinner. We loved every second, and it really was the best day ever.

Tropical Chic Oahu Wedding at Lanikuhonua

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]

Hawaii holds a special place in our couple’s hearts, as they visited the island several times. They wanted their wedding to be joyous, meaningful, colorful, and fun as friends and family came from all over the world to celebrate with them. Lauren and James went with tropical vibrant colors in hues of coral, pink, orange, and yellows. Their wedding color story reflects the lively and relaxed tropical vibe they wanted to achieve.

[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

From Finishing Touch Hawaii… Our couple’s vision of their day was a refined, fun island affair. This was some of their guests’ first time in Hawaii, so our bride wanted to include local flowers and flavors throughout the event: from greeting guests with leis as they enter their ceremony site to setting the mood with a traditional Hawaiian trio for their live music. Our bride wanted to create a look and feel that was filled with Aloha and island hospitality – and of course, lots of fun throughout the event.

MW Restaurant in Oahu did the catering for their special day. Our bride’s family has been a big fan of the restaurant for years, so naturally they wanted them to be a part of their wedding. They are known for their Pacific Rim and Asian fusion cuisine. Their specialty cocktails were done to perfection by Stir Beverage, and their signature drinks were displayed on a surfboard brilliantly created by Melissa Joy Design.

[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]

Their reception was filled with tropical flowers in coral, pink, orange, yellow and accents of island foliage such as palms and Monstera. We loved the tropical flora installations Jeff Alencastre Designs put together for them.

[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]

Their wedding was to die for, they went with a Lilikoi (aka Passion Fruit) Chiffon Cake by MW Restaurant‘s pastry Chef, Michelle.

[/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]

At reception time, their guests were greeted into the dance floor by the fun tunes of DeBois Entertainment. Our couple wanted their guest to have a great time, so right after their first dance, they invited everyone to join the dance floor, and everyone joined, it was a joyous moment, and the energy was truly special!

[field title=”Florals & Decor”]For florals, Mackenzie was going for loose, whimsical whites and ivory with touches of color in the centers of the flowers. Kaleidescope Floral’s beautiful white floral arrangements lined the aisle with roses for the ceremony and the reception featured white table arrangements, an arch adorning the entrance to the tent, and hanging greenery throughout wicker lanterns above the dance floor.

A “happy accident” as Bob Ross would say – occurred that day with the rental linens. The bride has chosen a soft blue patterned linen for the reception tables, but a yellow linen was sent instead. While it wasn’t the original design plan at all – the bride ended up loving the yellow even more – and we agree. It was just the pop of color needed- that made the slightly overcast Sarasota day – sunshiney in their tent![/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]Wonder Cakes designed a beautiful yet simple cake for the couple. It was light blue and decorated with pressed flowers with touches of white, blue, yellow, and red. [/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]Mackenzie’s great uncle was their officiant. Him and her aunt have been married for over 50 years, and it was so special to the couple to have him a part of the day.

Music was a very important part of the day! There was a big NJ presence, and the couple asked their band to learn a few additional Bruce Springsteen songs which were an absolute hit. The entire wedding was on the dance floor for Born to Run.[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]From the bride: Olivia was such an amazing thought partner. We balanced old school Florida and a print from Agua by Agua Bendita that a bridesmaid wore to weave through all details: invites, signage, dance floor, etc. It really brought so much color and fun to the day, with a lot of novel details like the matches. I work in fashion for Shopbop, and it was so fun to weave in the same themes into my outfits throughout the weekend.[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]The brides mother designed a custom seashell mirror frame that was used as the seating arrangement chart. [/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #3″]To conclude their cocktail hour, the couple toasted guests with a champagne tower just as the sun set into the Sarasota Bay behind them.[/field]

Exotic Wedding Inspiration at Jumeirah Bali

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”The Inspiration”]Bali is a dream destination for many couples looking to tie the knot in a beautiful and exotic location. With its breathtaking tropical scenery, rich and unique culture, delicious delicacies and stunning architecture. Bali provides the perfect backdrop for a wedding that will be remembered for a lifetime.

The inspiration behind this wedding editorial, collaboration of Ditto Dianto and Jess from Divine Project, was trying to showcase the unique blend of luxury and tradition that Bali has to offer. From the scenery to the traditional Balinese elements, this shoot captured the magic and romance of a Bali destination wedding.

The intricate decorations, the wedding gown, and bouquet, every detail of the shoot was carefully crafted to capture a modern and sophisticated look while also at the same time highlighting the essence of Balinese culture, architecture, craftsmanship and florals. [/field]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]Spring is a season of renewal and growth, making it the perfect time for a wedding. For this shoot, we went for an earth-tone color palette that can bring a touch of the outdoors.

Topaz Blue and White: Topaz blue and white are clean and crisp colors that create a fresh and modern look. These colors work particularly well for a resort wedding or outdoor ceremony. Jumeirah has a lot of touch of blue on their traditional architectural details that goes a long nicely with the bride’s white gowns.

Coral and Pink: Coral and pink are playful and fun colors that create a lively and cheerful atmosphere. These colors work particularly well for a garden wedding or outdoor reception, and we incorporated these into our wedding decor, including floral arrangements, table settings, and ceremony arch.[/field]
[field title=”The Venue”]The magical island of Bali is known for its stunning natural beauty, rich culture, and luxurious resorts.

Jumeirah Bali is inspired by Hindu-Javanese culture and a verdant water-based sanctuary of luxury. A poetic tribute to the golden era of the Majapahit Empire, a Javanese Hindu-Buddhist kingdom that reached its apogee in the mid-14th century.

The resort itself was a stunning water palace. Fountains, waterways and sprawling tropical ponds dominate the area, with intricate carvings and ornate decorations adorning every surface. Its design, with its grand temples and palaces, magical outdoor ceremony that overlook the Indian Ocean to the scented gardens, was the perfect backdrop for a wedding fit for royalty. As you step onto the grounds of the resort, you’ll be transported back in time to an era of opulence and grandeur, with towering pillars and lush greenery adding to the sense of wonder and enchantment.[/field]

[field title=”Wedding Gown”]The Elsa gown is a modern ball gown, handmade to measurements in San Francisco’s Atelier Des Modistes, using the sheerest tulle, silk and haute couture embroideries from Italy.

The modern, sheer plunging V  bodice is made with layers of pleated tulle with cascading leaves appliquéd by hand. Shimmering sequins highlight leaves of the embroidered tulle from Italy, with the underlayer of hand painted silk of large flowers and leaves create a shadow effect.

I especially love the way the light catches the sequins and mimics the sunlight sparkling on the water, creating a soft, ethereal elegance to the classic silhouette. The look is completed with a simple cut edge illusion tulle veil and a petite crown of metallic leather from Italy, gold wire, freshwater pearls and white topaz gemstones.

Earrings are from a Denise Heffernan designed specially to compliment the gowns. And they are completed the look beautifully.[/field]

[section title=”The Details”]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]The first look takes place in a small hidden courtyard inspired by ruins of roads and gapuras (gateway) of old ancient times. Bali Wedding Atelier decorates this area with an abundant arrangement of carnations, roses and baby’s-breath. Tropical foliage, with a tranquil pond reflecting the sun’s rays nearby add to the overall beauty.

The banquet area is adorned with exquisite floral arrangements, crystal candelabra, and resin place cards, creating a romantic and enchanting ambiance. Tables are elegantly set with fine china and sparkling crystal glasses, while towering centerpieces of cascading blush pink orchids create a romantic ambiance.

The ceremony arch is designed with the sun slowly began to set behind the horizon casting a warm glow over the ocean backdrop, in mind. The salty breeze carried the sweet fragrance of cascading lush blooms of pink orchids, carnations, and roses that were draped over the multilevel wedding ceremony setup using various height stands. Creating the impression of fullness and abundant.[/field]
[field title=”Favorite Design Element”]Definitely the favorite design element is the custom place cards by Cleare Resin Art. Made locally in Bali, of intricately carved resin, reflecting the traditional local craftsmanship.

Artisan resin art is a beautiful and unique design element that can add a touch of elegance and individuality to any wedding. What I love most about this type of art is that it is 100% handmade, ensuring that each piece is truly one-of-a-kind.

One of the best things about artisan resin art is the flexibility it offers in terms of color and style. Whether you prefer bold and bright colors or more muted and understated tones, resin art can be customized to match your wedding theme and color palette. Additionally, because each piece is handmade, you can work with the artist to create a design that is truly unique to your wedding.[/field]
[field title=”Tips To Pull Off The Look”]Choose a venue that reflects the local architecture: Bali is known for its stunning architecture, which is heavily influenced by Hindu and Buddhist traditions. Choose a venue that reflects this style, such as a temple or a villa with traditional Balinese architecture.

Add modern touches to the traditional decor: While you want to incorporate traditional Balinese elements into your wedding, you also want to keep it modern and fresh. Add modern touches such as modern ball gown, tuxedo, clean and simply design cake.

Incorporate local florals and craftsmanship into your decor: Bali is home to many talented artisans who create beautiful crafts, including resin arts, wood carvings, batik fabrics, and silver jewelry. Incorporate these local crafts into your decor.

Use a color palette inspired by Bali’s natural beauty: Bali is known for its stunning natural beauty, including its lush green forests, blue ocean waters, and pink sunsets. Use these colors as inspiration for your color palette.[/field]

From the bride… He organized an evening on the beach for us when we were visiting my family on Sanibel for the holidays. My sisters followed closely behind with a camera to capture the moment, and my parents (and grandma) snuck out of work early to make it to the beach in time. They all hid on the path and in the bushes until the big moment as the sun was going down and then when we walked back we saw everyone cheering with champagne to toast! I did not know it was coming, but we had many conversations in the months leading up to where Griffin did a great job throwing me off the scent.

From planner… The couple opted for stations of various genres, from pasta to seafood. Everything was offered on small plates so guests could try it all. The menus were designed as a map of the pool deck, noting each station and table grouping. The groupings of tables were each named after one of the couple’s favorite trails they ran together.

[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]

From planner… The original venue was supposed to be South Seas resort, but it was lost in Hurricane Ian, so we had to pivot with only two months to find a new venue. Due to the popularity of the date, venue availability was hard to find. We ended up moving to the clubhouse where the bride’s parents live. We needed to create an event that looked nothing like the many events the couple had attended over the years. The first change would be to ignore the traditional ceremony setup created by the club, and instead, we created a circular ceremony with the guests surrounding the couple. We didn’t want a wedding that felt at all like a ballroom, so we decided to clear the pool deck and host dinner surrounding the pool to bring in the water element that we missed due to the venue change. We wanted all the guests to have a great view of the entertainment, so the only central space was the center of the pool. We brought in Party Time Rentals and Special Events to create a platform over the pool, and we set up a white piano shell in a bed of flowers. The ballroom was transformed into a lounge where our 8-piece band welcomed the guests into the first dance with a custom-wrapped floral dancefloor matching the linens from BBJ Linen | La Tavola Linen.

From photographer, Hunter Ryan Photo… The tables featured pale blue and white linens, overflowing white floral centerpieces, and candles, making the dinner transition from daylight to twilight magical on the pool deck. A custom trellis was built above the head table – and was covered in greenery featuring hanging lanterns.

[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]

From planner… The wedding cake was the palest of blues with delicate white florals nestled in a round of bouquets.

English Countryside Wedding Weekend at Somerley House With Multi-Cultural Influences

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]For the wedding day itself, the dinner room was quite ornate, so we keep to natural greens and whites to ensure nothing was overly fussy and everything still felt organic yet luxe.
The welcome event the day before, was a nod to Cici’s Kenyan heritage so colour was definitely required for this sub event, there were yellows, oranges and purples.
[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]It was key for Cici and Hugo to celebrate over the entirety of a weekend as the majority of their guests were flying in for the celebration. They really wanted it to be a heartfelt & authentic celebration of them, surrounded by their nearest and dearest. We wanted to design a weekend that represented them both as a couple.
For the main wedding day we wanted to pair the British grandeur of Bridgerton alongside Cici’s natural Scandi vibe. This would resemble the coming together of Hugo’s British side and Cici’s Swedish side. Cici also has some Kenya heritage, so we wanted to pay homage to that too. We mainly did this at the welcome event on Friday, however on the wedding day there was a surprise gospel choir in the ceremony who provided some subtle Kenyan vibes. Somerley has a gorgeous ballroom where some of Bridgerton is actually filmed so it made the perfect backdrop for the grand Wedding Day Reception. By keeping the styling of florals and stationery classic and elegant we were able to provide those natural yet elevated Scandi vibes.
The welcome event on the Friday was a black tie reception styled with a nod to Kenya. The gorgeous rattan furniture by W Studio really helped provide a high end safari vibe. The marshmallow toasting round the fire pit transported guests back to safari nights in Africa. There were further Kenyan touches such as Kenyan blankets, African flowers by Rob Van Helden and bespoke cocktails such as the Kenya Dawa, which went down very well!
The Sunday brunch event was designed to be a relaxed event to allow guests a time to catch up on the stories from the day before. Ginger catering provided plenty of hangover worthy food & drink, from bloody marys to even creating our own high end take on the McMuffin! For guests who wanted to just lounge around there was sufficient seating, however for guests who wanted to be a little more active and interact with the other guests one last time before departing, we had put on an array of classic garden games. In another nod towards Bridgerton we had a wonderful croquet set, that was very popular with guests! There was also Boules and even Badminton. Badminton is a game Cici and Hugo often play together so we were keen to tie this into their special weekend!
The whole weekend was really designed with the couple in mind. We wanted to make is as unique to them and their story as possible. It really felt like an authentic representation of them and that was really important.
[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]Hugo and Cici met in November 2019 at Hugo’s Birthday celebrations. Their first date saw them enjoy a walk along the Thames in Richmond, accompanied by a puppy Hugo was dog sitting at the time. By summer 2020 having fallen firmly in love, they decided to officially move in together, and where better to call home than the location of their first date, Richmond! In keeping with the Birthday and walking themes that began their relationship, in June 2021 Hugo got Cici the best birthday present. Whilst retracing their steps of their first date, he found a place by the river where he got on one knee and asked her to marry him.[/field]

[section title=”The Fashion”]
[field title=”Wedding Gown”]Cici had an array of gorgeous dresses. During the Friday welcome event Cici wore a beautiful Hervé Leger dress, she paired it with some of her traditional African jewellery and looked absolutely stunning!
On the wedding day itself Cici wore a grand Millanova dress for the ceremony. The train was so wide that we had to ensure the aisle was set wide enough to accommodate it. It was completely worth it as this statement dress make quite the impact!
Before dinner both Cici and Hugo changed into their evening looks. It was a really nice moment as they got to enjoy a few minutes alone together. There are some great photos of Cici tying Hugo’s cravat, we absolutely love this special couples moment. Cici’s evening dress was a Stephanie Allin purchased at Morgan Davies Bridal.
[/field]
[field title=”Bridesmaid Dresses”]There were 6 bridesmaids and they all wore matching Hunter green Alonso dresses from NABBD London.[/field]
[field title=”Groomsman Attire”]The Friday welcome event had purposefully been black tie so that we had the opportunity for the wedding day to be military ware and morning suits, providing a really traditional British feel. Hugo wore his military uniform (complete with sword and beret) for the ceremony and then changed into a (green, in keeping with our colour scheme) velvet smoking jacket look for the evening celebration which was very smart. Any of the groomsmen that were also military personnel also wore their official uniforms. It looked really special to see them all together doing the honour guard salute as the couple exited. The non military groomsmen were in traditional morning suits with ties in the perfect green to match the bridesmaid dresses.[/field]

[board_carousel title=”Cocktail Hour”]

[/board_carousel]
[section title=”The Details”]
[field title=”Food & Drink”]As guests arrived at Somerley for the Wedding day, they received a traditional Kenyan Dawa cocktail to enjoy in the pre-ceremony reception whilst taking in the surrounding views. A champagne and canape reception followed the ceremony. Once seated in the ballroom guests dined on a starter of bruschetta, a main of sirloin steak and a hybrid dessert of Eton mess brulee. The dietary guests dessert was iced berries with a hot white chocolate sauce, which is one of Cici’s favourites! After dessert each guest was served an espresso martini to perk them up for all the dancing that followed!
The welcome event on Friday had provided guests with a canape reception and plenty of cocktails to choose from. Each cocktail had been named to represent something related to the couple. Ella Hartig worked with Charlotte Willmore to design a beautiful custom bar menu.
For the brunch event on Sunday guests were served a hybrid menu of hangover friendly brunch classics such as breakfast muffins, alongside some traditional English afternoon tea favourites such as scones, cucumber sandwiches and macaroons. They could opt for soft options like tea or smoothies or proceed with the hair of the dog options of bellinis and bloody marys.

[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]The florals were one of the highlights of the weekend, Rob Van Helden and his team came down from London and created some incredible arrangements. Rob himself was there and even hand delivered the bridal bouquet.
Saturdays ceremony arch was a complete showstopper. It perfectly framed the couple for the heartfelt ceremony then made the perfect backdrop for photos framing the gorgeous surrounding country side. Whilst we wanted quite a traditional arch, we did want a little movement in it and Rob created this wonderfully with the addition of the Amaranthus.
The ballroom had a mix of tall centrepieces and low centrepieces to provide a contrast & depth in the large room. Surrounding the florals RVH provided the most perfect antique gold candle holders, they worked so well at provide a simple yet elegant glow to the tables. The tableware was provided by Duchess & Butler and the charger plate colour perfectly matched the walls of Somerley’s grand ballroom, the ribbon on the printed menus and the coloured napkins!
The ceremony aisle runners were repurposed to frame the bands stage and the cake for the evening.
On the Friday the African florals really provided the Kenyan welcome party with the perfect finishing touch.
On Sunday we repurposed Saturdays florals to frame the bar and brunch area, making the most out of all the gorgeous arrangements.

[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]Erzulie Cakes created a simple three tiered cake with beautiful sugar flowers. The cake was gluten free and dairy free and tasted delicious. The flavours were Victoria sponge (base layer), lemon drizzle (middle layer) and chocolate (top layer). We repurposed some of the ceremony florals to frame the cake which looked beautiful.[/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]Euphonica Lounge Orchestra played guests into the ceremony, they even learnt one of Cici & Hugo’s favourite songs, Wagon Wheel.
The ceremony was conducted by Hugo’s Army Padre and Hugo had designed the service to be a really personalised and bespoke celebration of his and Cici’s love.
The ceremony was unplugged, meaning everyone was really present in the moment which felt very special.
Both Cici’s Brother and Hugo’s brother gave a reading before the Padre’s address and then the couples vows.
As the guests were focused on the couple, the gospel choir snuck in and after the declaration they burst into ‘ My love is your love’ which was very well received by guests.
The highlight of the ceremony was the really unique exit the couple planned. They exited down the confetti aisle to the gospel choir singing joyful joyful (an homage to Cici’s Kenyan routes). At the end of the aisle, Hugos army comrades had lined up on the steps in a military honour guard and the couple exited under the sword arch. Once at the top of the stairs, Cici and Hugo enjoyed a drink of Cici’s favourite tequila to celebrate officially being married.
The gospel choir then sung the guests out and walked them over the reception area, where the string orchestra then took over the entertaining during the drinks reception.
Eightray provided JG Collective as an amazing party band and then Freightrain as the evening DJ. The dancefloor was packed all night!
[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]The stationery for this event was so beautiful. Ella Hartig worked closely with Charlotte Willmore to design a really gorgeous bespoke set of stationery for Cici and Hugo. Leeming brothers provided the foil printing which really brought it all together.
The stationery started with designing a beautiful couples crest of the couples initials that we carried across all stationery items. The invite was a folded invited and provided details of all 3 days of events. The crest also sat at the top of the table plan, printed menus and guestbook board.
Instead of a guestbook Cici and Hugo had a board with their wedding crest in the centre and guests signed well wishes around this. The couple will then frame this as a keepsake.
Having lived most of their relationship through the Covid 19 pandemic the couple choose to highlight some of their memories from this time by naming their tables after them, such as ‘Eating Out to Help Out’ ‘WFH (Work From Home)’ ‘ Zoom Quiz 86’ and most notable the top table of ‘Lockdown Love’. The table names were all hand embellished with gold leaf to complement the room.
The printed menus doubled up as place cards and really finished the table design beautifully. Topped with the couples crest, each guests name was then hand calligraphied on in gold above their bespoke menu. They were then tied in a sage green chiffon, that perfectly matched the colour of the walls & the charger plates, and sealed with the couple’s wax stamp that was also used to seal their invite envelopes.
Leeming Brothers even provided the wax stamper to the couple after they were done creating the couples stationery, so the couple can use it for years to come on Christmas card et al at home.

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]
The wedding weekend was scented with engraved Jo Malone Candles. Scent is so closely linked to memories so having a unique wedding scent that will now forever remind the couple and guests of their special weekend was important. [/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #3″]Cici loves Fireworks so it was key that we included these in the weekend celebration. Flashpoint Fireworks put on an incredible display, all staged to two of the couples favourite songs, Avicii wake me up and Jubel Dancing in the Moonlight. It was certainly a highlight of the weekend and guests really enjoyed it.

At the end of the night there was also a sparkler send off as the couple departed in the Rolls-Royce Royale Convertible.

This was such an incredible weekend of events, all authentically designed by Ella Hartig Events for Cici & Hugo and with their guests experience in mind. Can we do it all over again please! 😊

Sandals Resorts–The Honeymoon That Plans Itself

As excited as you are about going on your honeymoon, after planning what was quite possibly the BIGGEST EVENT OF YOUR LIFE, the last thing you want to do right now is plan one more thing. And we feel you! But trust us when we say [and don’t tell anyone we said this] the honeymoon is just as important as the wedding (if not more). Why? Well, weddings, as we’re sure you’ve already realized, aren’t really for the couple, they’re for everyone else. Weddings are a time to celebrate two families coming together and the honeymoon…Alexa, play “Two Become One” by Spice Girls. You get the drift. Your honeymoon should be the happiest time in your life–no stress, no work, just the two of you lying on a beach somewhere, the sun kissing the horizon as it sinks into crystal clear Caribbean waters. Okay, so we know that’s a little specific but is there anything more romantic than a Caribbean honeymoon? We think not and no one does that better than Sandals® all-inclusive resorts! They take all the stress out of planning your honeymoon, in fact, they take out the planning part altogether. All you need to do is give them a call or go online and their experts can take care of everything, even booking your flight! At Sandals, their motto is, “Love is all you need…everything else is included”, and that’s a sentiment we can really get behind. So what’s really included?

Unlimited Fine Dining and Premium Drinks? Yes Please

We may as well start with the food and drinks, because (let’s face it) that’s what we all look forward to most on vacation. At all Sandals Resorts, you’ll enjoy unlimited dining at all of their on-site restaurants that range from fine dining for when you want to dress up and live large to cafes and trendy food trucks for when you want to keep things casual. That means breakfast, lunch, dinner (and ANYTIME SNACKS). And every location features cuisine that is unique to that resort and highlights the flavors of that specific island and location. The thing that really impressed us was the restaurant count at each of these resorts. Seriously, you could eat at a different restaurant every night and still have new options to explore for breakfast and lunch. And let’s not forget drinks! Unlimited premium liquors and wines are included in your stay and each resort has up to 11 bars on-site! Don’t feel like getting dressed and going out? Every room has a fully stocked bar because they know sometimes you need to chill in bed, especially on your honeymoon.

Adventure and Relaxation

When you’re ready to explore and make some new memories with your new hubby or wife they’ve got plenty to keep you two entertained! They have PADI-Certified SCUBA diving and equipment for certified divers, unlimited water sports, snorkeling and equipment, tennis and land sports, day and night entertainment, live shows, and bikes. Yep, all included! They also have a rejuvenating spa and state-of-the-art fitness center on-site if you need to unwind after the big day.

No [Unwanted] Surprises

The best part about Sandals (aside from the glamour and relaxation) is that it truly is worry-free. You book online and the price you see is what you get and that includes everything–tips, taxes, and even roundtrip airport transfers. So budgeting for your wedding and your honeymoon just got a whole lot simpler!

The Sweetest Suites

At Sandals you really can’t go wrong when it comes to selecting your all-inclusive suite, but if you were curious which one we would recommend–the Butler Suites, hands down! And yes, “Butler Suite” means you have your very own personal butler! Sandals really went all out when designing these suites and each one features something extraordinary like villas over the ocean with glass floors, swim-up entrances, villas in the round with rooftop decks, and a private plunge pool. There are even suites with pools on their terrace and villas perched on a clifftop overlooking the sea. Enough said?

Our Fave Locations

With 17 resorts across seven islands in some of the world’s most beautiful destinations—Jamaica, Bahamas, Saint Lucia, Antigua, Grenada, Barbados, and Curaçao, how are you supposed to choose which paradise to call your home away from home? You’ve come to the right place! While all of the Sandals Resorts get the Style Me Pretty stamp of approval…these ones we consider to be the Prettiest of the Pretty.

Sandals Royal Curaçao

Nestled in the heart of the Leeward Antilles, Curaço boasts just about every natural wonder you could want in a destination. Seriously, mountains, desert landscapes, and ocean views galore! If you’re a couple who lives for adventure, then this is definitely the Sandals destination for you. And you know that we love a photo op, so their 2-level infinity pool is hard to resist. Plus, in Curaçao, some rooms even include a convertible MINI Cooper that you can use to cruise around the island in style. Seriously, can’t you just see the IG stories now?!

Sandals Grenada

Sandals Grenada Resort will make you rethink what you thought you knew about a Caribbean honeymoon. It’s everything you love about a beachy destination with a sophisticated modern twist, from suites with private pools in the sky to unique outdoor living spaces. Even nature got the memo with the “Pink Gin Beach” named for its pink-hued sand that resembles a chic cocktail from the UK. Ok, now we’re thirsty!

Sandals South Coast

Set along a 2-mile stretch of the pristine south coast of Jamaica, Sandals South Coast Resort is all about the water. So if water is your thing…this should make your decision pretty simple. From the bungalow to the bars, everything is about (or over the water). Their beachfront Dutch Village features swim-up suites on the first floor and you have to check out their Rondoval suites that have a dreamy lagoon pool and private pools for when you need a little alone time. And we’re just a little partial to the Over-the-Water Bungalows floating over the sea in the shape of a heart…

Sandals Halcyon Beach

With lush tropical gardens and white sand beaches, it doesn’t really get more scenic than the Sandals Halcyon Beach Resort in St. Lucia! And while the nature is awe-inspiring, to say the least, the treasure trove of man-made wonders at Sandals Halcyon Beach, like their luxurious pool and the nearby Cap Estate Golf & Country Club and La Toc Golf Course, are sure to keep you entertained if that’s more your speed. Plus, they’ve added some new suites and Rondovals that only sweeten the deal. Plus, this resort includes their “Stay at 1- Play at 3” exchange privileges that allow guests staying at Sandals Halcyon Beach to enjoy all of the amenities at 2 other Sandals St. Lucia resorts! 3 resorts for the price of 1…where do we sign up?

[field title=”Wedding Colors”]

The rehearsal dinner was done in magenta, blue, orange, and neutrals. The wedding colors were white, green, baby blue, and gold.

[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

The vibe for the rehearsal dinner was upscale Spanish-inspired/modern Talavera. We were inspired by the Talavera tile print, pulling the blue, yellows, and oranges. The magenta was inspired by the beautiful bougainvillea that surrounds The O’Donnell House. Wedding For the design we combined traditional, romantic elements, but with a fresh twist. We wanted timeless but still modern, and sleek.

[field title=”Food & Drink”]

The food and drink for the rehearsal dinner was provided by Palm Springs-based company 849 Fine Catering. We kept the signature cocktails in theme and went with Palomas and Spicy Margaritas. For the wedding cocktail hour and reception, dinner was catered by The Parker Palm Springs.

Signature cocktails included:

The Mozi-Rita (His) – skinny spicy margarita, lime juice, jalapeno, tequila

The Honeymoon (they went to Italy on their honeymoon, note the aperol) – OJ, agave, fresh lime, tequila, aperol, sparkling wine

The Margo (Hers) – cucumber, lime juice, gin, elderflower liqueur, sparkling water

[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]

For the rehearsal dinner, the florals were lush, and overflowing and were the main focus for the design. Emma from Leta Verbana worked her magic, bringing out the pops of pink layered with the greenery, and little glimpses of yellow and orange. For the wedding, florals were by Rebelle Fleurs. To play off the design of traditional with a modern twist, we did monoflorals. For example, the ceremony florals were all white roses. Arrangements for the reception were grouped by floral type – tulips, roses, orchids, and hydrangeas. This really helped to keep it feel sleek and clean. All vessels for florals and candles were clean glass vases. The majority being clear glass, and some are a deep emerald color to tie in the green. The gold element was tied in through the chiavari chairs, the gold trim on the chargers, and gold single-stem vases placed on the bars. The detail of pearl accents was also found in the napkin rings from Theoni, the trim on the chargers, as well as the decoration of the wedding cake.

[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]

At the rehearsal dinner, we had a cake made by Exquisite Desserts that showcased the Talavera tile print on the cake. The wedding cake was made by the team at The Parker Palm Springs. It was four tiers decorated with pearl-like piping, and the topper was the original topper from her parent’s wedding cake!

[/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]

For the rehearsal dinner music it was a relaxed mood, with an acoustic guitarist from Dart Collective. We had a classical violinist perform at the ceremony. For the party and reception, Westcoast Music (JB Project) performed a high-energy set!

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]

One of our favorite details was the tall gold vases filled with single-stem orchids. They were definitely a standout in terms of decor. And the champagne tower was a super fun moment for the bride & groom!

A Punchy Soiree on a Flower Farm in New England

Though a usual preferrer of neutrals, Daria’s personality is bold and vibrant – something she felt compelled to incorporate in the wedding design. Various shades of yellow and orange were the colors of choice that could be seen throughout the wedding day.

[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

With former Miss Universe, American model, and childhood friend Olivia Culpo standing by her side, Daria Mancini, an influencer in her own right, felt like the luckiest bride alive on this brilliant July day. To note, the fashionable bride and her dad made an epic entrance in a vintage blue car accompanied by pre-processional fireball shooters. Shades of yellow and orange florals graced the elongated tables underneath the sailcloth-tented celebration. Daria’s family has owned Twin Oaks, an Italian restaurant, for 85 years. Throughout the ceremony and reception, nods to Italian heritage could be seen. Guests were treated to a family-style Italian meal, gifted the couple’s favorite olive oil as a favor, and ended the evening with an espresso martini bar in lieu of dessert.

[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]Rose and Scott wanted their wedding day to be romantic, elegant and sophisticated. Their guests were at the heart of their planning. They envisioned a classic and intimate ceremony followed by a fun and memorable party, with good food and even better company. [/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]Quite literally a high-flying couple – Scott is a pilot for British Airways, Rose an online entrepreneur – they are ambitious and aspiring, but also romantic at heart and exuding genuine warmth and kindness. The two met on a night out while Rose was at university and Scott had just started his piloting career. They have shared a passion for travel and adventures since, leading to Scott proposing to Rose in the middle of a starry night in Chile’s Atacama desert. The newly engaged couple flew back to London and then to Durban the following weekend (with him flying!) to try and find a ring (“he
knew better than to choose for me”, Rose said) – it was a really amazing few weeks for the two.[/field]

[section title=”The Details”]
[field title=”Food & Drink”]Rose and Scott wanted their guests to have an incredible reception, with ample food and drink. After the reception, guests were invited to a cocktail hour of canapes and classic English summertime Pimm’s cocktails in the inner courtyard of Syon House.

For the reception, Tapenade Catering planned a delicious three-course menu for their guests. It included nduja arancini and glazed figs, beef wellington fillets with potato fondant, and a choice of a chocolate tart or a rum roasted pineapple and blood orange yoghurt, topped with candy floss meringue. [/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]Andri, from Always Andri Weddings created a modern and elegant wedding design for Rose and Scott. The florals were wild and romantic, with shades of blush pink and white blooms. Blue Sky Flowers created two stunningly sculptural arrangements to frame the ceremony space using garden roses, peonies, and sweet peas. Dark green foliage adorned the ghost chairs in the ceremony space, adding contrast to the soft yellow walls of Syon House. Rose and her bridesmaids’ bouquets were organic and full of movement.

For the reception, Rose and Scott wanted the focus to be on the elegant open structure of the Great Conservatory. Three long tables were decorated with clusters of bud vases of blush and white flowers. The table was set with modern gold and white cutlery with blush napkins on a white table cloth. Ghost chairs elevated the overall look. Elegant gold candlesticks set with blush tapered candles created a soft light as the day turned to night. A stylish lounge area was also set up for guests to rest their dancing feet.
[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]Sugar Plum Bakes created a showstopper cake decorated in a textured buttercream, to look as if it was hewn from the stone used to build the conservatory. There were several neutral shades and colours of buttercream in ivory, cream, dove grey, taupe and beige and the cake was finished with touches of edible gold leaf as well as handmade rice paper sails to give a feeling of movement and tiny pale pink rice paper flowers to tie the cake into the colour scheme. Its three tiers featured a lemon cake with lemon curd and buttercream, a vanilla and raspberry cake with cream cheese frosting and raspberry jam, and a chocolate cake with salted caramel and chocolate ganache. [/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]Rose & Scott’s close friend, who was meant to conduct their symbolic ceremony, fell ill and couldn’t attend on the day of their wedding. Thankfully their wedding planner, Andri Benson, is also an experienced officiant was able to step in at the last minute to write and conduct their ceremony.

Their ceremony featured “Love is an Adventure” by Pierre Tielhard de Chardin, read by one of Rose’s bridesmaids.

The ceremony and cocktail hour featured music by string quartet, Chiqas. They played a bespoke arrangement of classical and pop music. [/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]After dinner, guests were invited to the Cactus House in the Great Conservatory for espresso martinis and cake.

While the guests were having cocktails and cake, Andri and her team transformed the Great Conservatory into a romantic dance floor, with a romantic line of candles and floral buds. Music by band Brand New Groove got the guests onto the dance floor for a memorable night of dancing under the glass dome of the Great Conservatory. [/field]

Yes, makeup artists can work magic–you won’t see us debating that. However, any MUA will tell you that to get the best wedding day glow, you gotta put in the work ahead of time. We know you’ve got a lot on your mind and on your credit card at the moment, so we rounded up the best of the best (if you feel like spoiling yourself) as well as some seriously affordable dupes that you can pick up at your local drugstore. Exfoliate

Did you know that you should be exfoliating your face 2-3 times per week? Regular exfoliation preps your skin to absorb and retain any of the treatments and cremes that follow. Exfoliants fall into two main categories–chemical and physical. Chemical exfoliants rely on acids and enzymes to remove dead skin while physical exfoliants literally scrub the dead skin away. Both have their own pros and cons, but most dermatologists recommend using a chemical exfoliant. They are gentler on your skin (surprisingly) than their physical counterparts and can be used more regularly.

Splurge

Drunk Elephant T.L.C. Framboos Glycolic Night Serum

Not only is it good for your face, but it’s also vegan and cruelty-free, so it’s good for the world too–just another thing to add to your glow.

Toner

We’re trying to glow, right? And even if you’ve already exfoliated there are microscopic bits of dirt, makeup, and oil that can hang on for dear life and dull your sparkle. These tiny culprits can also clog pores and prevent the rest of your skincare routine from sinking in and realizing their fullest potential. Enter toner, this water-based cleanser helps wipe away whatever’s left to reveal a blank canvas…and wouldn’t ya know it, it helps brighten skin as well, and evens skin tone!

SK-II Facial Treatment Clear Lotion Toner

We love that this toner nourishes your skin with vitamins, organic acids, minerals, and amino acids while it cleans!

If you’re on social media, then you’ve heard of serums, but if you’ve yet to add one to your skincare routine, today’s the day! Serums are concentrated solutions packed with vitamins and acids that pack a big punch in a pretty little container. Think of them like a cold-pressed juice shot but for your skin. And believe it or not, order matters when it comes to your skincare routine, so make sure to put your serum on before your moisturizer so it gets fully absorbed.

Day Cream

You know what they say, “Sun’s out, guns out” and when it comes to skincare, the big guns = a day cream with some serious SPF. How serious? At least 30 SPF, but if it’s higher, you won’t hear us complaining. A Luxury Lakefront Destination Wedding in Horseshoe Bay, Texas

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]

From the bride… I wanted something that captured the elegance of old Hollywood with elements that made sense for a winter wedding. We started with emerald green, white, and hints of gold, and the design webbed from there.

[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

We are from Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Most Baton Rouge brides have large weddings at the local country clubs. We wanted something smaller and more intimate yet beautiful. When we came across Horseshoe Bay, we immediately knew it was the perfect destination for our nuptials. We also like that it is in Texas, and we are starting our lives together in Texas. We went with Old Hollywood glamour done in a modern way. The lakeside ceremony was adorned with acrylic ghost chairs, a custom acrylic aisle with our monogram, and lush white florals we carried throughout the design. The reception ballroom was transformed with custom white draping, a custom monogrammed dance floor, and lighting for a romantic ambiance. The tables were draped in embroidered linens, and we brought in gold and emerald green velvet chairs to elevate the design.” We also fused our Texas destination into the storyline. We stayed on theme the entire weekend, from a Texas BBQ-themed rehearsal dinner to handing out cowboy hats at the reception.

[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]

David told me we were going out to eat. He drove me to his parent’s house, where they have 100 acres, a horse, cattle, and ducks. He told me to “come look at their new horse.” I opened the back door, but there was no new horse. There were rose petals and a cute little setup where he got down on one knee. I was in absolute shock but also kind of knew it was coming.

I went into dress shopping wanting something beaded and sparkly. When I tried this one on by Rita Vinieris, I fell in love immediately. It was classic yet sexy, and the gloves topped it off. It really encompassed the old Hollywood bride vibe I was going for. Pedram Couturefrom New Orleans made the bow for me, the bow did not originally come with the dress.

[/field]
[field title=”Bridesmaid Dresses”]

Choosing bridesmaids’ dresses is no easy feat. They all tend to look the same, and let’s face it, they aren’t always the best-looking. However, I found these to be understated and classic. The dresses came with a small bow, but, to mirror mine, I had my aunt create larger bows for these dresses.

[field title=”Food & Drink”]

Typical Louisiana weddings, where we are from, are a buffet of seafood, pasta, etc. Being in Texas, we chose to have a BBQ for the rehearsal and a sit-down steak dinner for the reception. To top off the night, we had my and David’s favorite snack passed around: cinnamon rolls, sliders, and fries.

[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]Classic, old Hollywood was the inspiration throughout the entire design process. We wanted something not too over the top but elegant and lovely. I love the night sky, so the draped lights encompassed a starry night.[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]

I spent days trying to figure out my wedding cake. This is another detail that tends to look the same at every wedding you go to. So, we decided to do something different and have the illusion of flowers floating around the cake. Our florist made a spiral of baby’s breath encircling the entire cake.

[/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]The couple had a solo vocalist singing worship during the ceremony.[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]

The couple are from Louisiana, as were most of their guests. They had a second line and sparkler exit leading them to their lakeside boat send-off.

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]The bride wore a custom jumpsuit for her second reception outfit made by Pedram Couture from New Orleans, LA. [/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #3″]

The theme of the deep emerald green. I had a hard time choosing my color palette. I was initially adamant against green, but it turned out to be so elegant. From the reception dinner chairs to the ribbon around the menus and programs, to the bridesmaids’ dresses, it really pulled everything together. My something borrowed was even a pair of diamond and emerald earrings.

Romantic Upstate New York Wedding With Intimate Details And The Couple’s Sweet Pup

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]

For the rehearsal dinner the wedding colors were green and gold, for the wedding day neutrals, pink with pops of orange, red and green, black and gold.

[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

From Natalie Sanderson of Amanda Savory Events: Our goal for Alexandra and Jake’s wedding was to enhance the amazing vibe and energy that Troutbeck already exudes. “We want the property to be the foundation and feel of the weekend with lots of florals, greenery, and rustic but chic charm,” Alex told us early on in the planning process. Since their Wedding took place in September we knew we wanted to use floral and greenery colors that played into the nearing the end of summer fall on the horizon vibes. With potted green plants, florals in ivory, white, hints of blush and orange, deep jewel tones, and additional greenery accents, we felt we did just that with the indoor/outdoor property. Everything felt effortless, yet crazy romantic. Nothing felt forced or out of place. Jerry Rose and his team did a phenomenal job and we could not have been more pleased with how everything unfolded for Alexandra and Jake. Of course, their fun, loving, spunky, and unbelievably kind selves are what really made the weekend special. Beauty that shines that brightly within is bound to burst at the seams at some point, and as you can see from Anna Gianfrate Photography beautiful images, that some point was their wedding weekend.

[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]

Jake and Jake’s family pretended like they were throwing Jake’s brother a party for graduating Medical School. So we all got dressed up and went to the rooftop of the Soho Grand Hotel. When we got there I opened the door, there was a trail of roses that let to an outdoor patio with the most amazing view of NYC! Jake proposed on the patio with our pup Duke and then when we walked inside, our whole family appeared from a hiding place! I thought that was it but then a few minutes later, our whole extended family and friends surprised me as well! We had the happiest, most fun engagement party together and danced all night long!!
