A Gorgeous Berry Color Palette for a Luxe Ranch Wedding

Leave it to Joel Serrato to photograph one of the most striking weddings I’ve come across in quite a long time. No surprise, the equally amazing Smith + James Events was behind the planning and design, playing up the beauty of Santa Barbara in a serious way. There’s no question, Christine and Joshua’s berry-hued love affair is worth every last second spent in the gallery.

From Tory Smith of smith + james events… Christine was an amazing bride who put a lot of trust in us to make her wedding day beautiful. Her one request? She wanted color – which we were thrilled to hear! At smith + james, we approach every wedding we design by first taking into account the venue and its surroundings. It’s important that all the details make sense within the environment and don’t feel forced or out of place.

The San Ysidro Ranch is a warm and inviting hotel set among the lush, Mediterranean-inspired Santa Barbara landscape. This setting played a major role in our inspiration and we ended up going for a refined yet organic feel. Santa Barbara is a town of unpretentious luxury, and we wanted to bring that vibe to the decor. We went with textural, elegant florals in vessels of wood and glazed terra cotta evocative of the area. We were really happy with the way the whole day came together and even more thrilled to have been a part of Christine and Josh’s love story.

Bells + Bright Colors for this Sweet Summer Wedding

With ringing bells and warm colors, these two became husband and wife and we have the perfect pics by Callie Davis of Nancy Ray Photography and the film by Life Stage Films to prove it. The Fearrington House played host (and event planner and floral designer) for this sweet Southern wedding and we can’t get enough. But no need to fret, there’s plenty of pretty to go around in our Vault right this way!

[styleguide}

From The Fearrington HouseEllie and Nick were married August 6th, 2016 at Fearrington Village. On a gorgeous summer day, these two tied the knot under the Pecan Trees with a beautiful ceremony, and danced the night away in The Fearrington Barn. The couple incorporated details of their venue with custom invitations featuring drawings of Fearrington’s “Beltie” cows and The Barn. Family and friends celebrated the newlyweds with dinner, dancing and an incredible sparkler send-off.

From their vows, “I vow to live with transparency, sharing my greatest joys and my deepest sorrows with you as well as everything in between, even when it feels messy and out of control.” Congratulations to this wonderful couple!

A Dutch Castle Wedding So Pretty We Thought it was a Styled Shoot

I’m not sure whether it was the castle scene, the Bride’s beyond gorgeous style or the quaint reception setting, but I could have sworn this slice of beauty was a styled shoot at first sight. That’s how incredibly pretty this Dutch wedding day is. Captured by Nastia Vesna & Maksim Gladky, it’ll transport you to another world, where a 20’s inspired style meets a secret garden.

[iframe http://player.vimeo.com/video/196252863 600 338]

From Nastia Vesna & Maksim GladkyIt was Warm autumn day, a fairytale castle, beautiful guests, delicate décor in deep shades, noble style of the bride and groom, dim lights of candles, playing jazz on a background, and the air is full of love and warmth.

From the Bride… Our story began in Amsterdam where we first met as the students in 2010. What followed then was a colorful kaleidoscope of unforgettable moments in which we found ourselves immersed – late evening walks and bike rides across Amsterdam canals, weekend getaways all over Europe, Christmas markets in Germany, New Year Eve’s in French Alps, summer vacations in Spain and finally very romantic proposal in one of the most beautiful cities in the world – Florence.

Even though we both come from Moscow and are currently based in London, it did not take us long to decide that we want to get married in Amsterdam – the city to which we felt deeply attached and which changed our lives to the best.

Planning of the wedding started with falling in love with the dress – once I saw Jenny Packham designs, I realised that I will not walk down the aisle in any other gown but hers. It just felt so right and so “me”! The model I chose was actually not from the latest collection and luckily I still managed to find it at Bloomfeld Luxury Bridal. For the hairpiece I wanted something matching but modest not to overdo the total look. As for the shoes, one of my main criteria was being able to dance in them the whole night long, and Valentino’s Tango pumps definitely lived up to their name.

We managed to find the location rather quickly. I had already heard about Kasteel de Hooge Vuursche from few friends and liked the pictures. Once we got there we became sure that the place ticked all the boxes – beautiful and elegant, with amazing outside garden, large windows, plenty of natural light and cosy dining room. I believed that finding location should be the most difficult part of the wedding planning process. Since we coped with this task so easily, I decided not to hire a wedding planner and plan the wedding myself. Though challenging, it was great fun and experience I enjoyed a lot! Actually, I even decided to become a wedding planner myself and have recently joined Wedding Blues agency London team.

The vintage style of the dress set the tone for the wedding – “Among the whisperings and the champagne and the stars” (“The Great Gatsby”). I wanted just a hint of 20’s in the decoration and the atmosphere: jazz music, Art Deco font for the stationery, candle light. As for the colour palette, my personal preferences matched perfectly with the season: deep jewel stones and grape tones both for the flowers and the dress code for the guests.

Our main goal was to create intimate and cosy atmosphere so that the guests and ourselves can enjoy the day and relax. This is exactly how we look back at our wedding: exceptionally beautiful and warm autumn day both in terms of the weather and the vibe.

Pretty Shades of Berry + Blue Wedding for a Winter Wedding

A rich, jewel-toned color palette is one design decision I can always get behind, especially for a winter wedding like Lauren and David’s. They wed at St. Petersburg, Florida’s Museum of Fine Arts for a classic, wildly stunning setting and you can see every moment captured by The Ganeys.

From the Bride… David proposed in his hometown of Florence, Italy in the fall of 2015. As soon as we got back from our whirlwind trip of meeting his family and celebrating our engagement we started planning! Living in Florida I knew that I wanted a wedding in the cooler months and having a longer engagement sounded appealing after realizing everything that went into planning a wedding.

We knew we wanted to get married in downtown St. Petersburg so we could show off our city to all our family and friends! We looked around at a few different venues but I had my heart set on the Museum of Fine Arts early on. It is right next to a park with giant Banyon trees and backs up to the water and creates such a beautiful backdrop for our outdoor ceremony.

My dad built us a beautiful arbor that my sister-in-law decorated for us to stand under. Getting married in January made me want to have winter colors that still fit with our warm Florida weather. We went nontraditional with blue suits for the guys and burgundy dresses for my bridesmaids. I accented with lots of gold and kept the same color scheme inside for our reception.

Our nod to David’s heritage was a personal bottle of olive oil for all our guests with a family recipe attached. We had great blue up-lighting against the walls which created such a fun atmosphere for dancing after we finished our seated dinner. We chose not to do a send-off and instead celebrated into the night with all our family and friends!

How to Throw a Shower Everyone (and we mean everyone) Will Adore

It’s hard to put into words how much I love this shower. It’s just so good. Starting with that pretty, pretty tablescape, moving to the spoon wall backdrop, the cake and donuts and the fun BABY balloons too, this celebration with florals by Ezai Floral Design has a little bit of everything. So whether you’re a sweets lover, a design lover or a lover of a great party, this vault of images by Katie Jackson Photography is about to be your new fave.

When my husband and I found out I was pregnant with our first baby the day of our 5 year anniversary, we were so thrilled! We couldn’t wait to celebrate with loved ones our soon-to-be arrival and the baby shower was a great opportunity for us to express our own style. I definitely knew I wanted something modern and not quite your typical“baby shower”, while still tying in traditional elements.

My baby shower was going to be in the late winter, so I thought fusing modern elements with a rustic theme would be a fun twist, and a romantic color palette of burgundy, pink, white and gold accents would be fitting since we would be celebrating right around Valentines Day.

Knowing that the backdrop was going to be a focal point, we started our search for the perfect venue first. The impeccably designed Stage and Table located in Santa Monica, set the ambiance for the baby shower.

It’s modern loft space with rustic, eclectic touches truly fit exactly what we had hoped to find. From the wall of wooden cooking spoons which was the perfect backdrop for a dessert table to the cozy outdoor space, they already had so many wonderful details that fitted our vision.

From that point, the venue really provided the spring board for all the other elements. My favorite details were the DIY projects our family helped us with. My mother-in-law helped design the “S’more Love” favor tags and my husband’s brother and sister-in-law, both being artists, hand designed all our signage! Our beautiful cake was crafted by The Buttered End Cakery. I supplied them with a few inspiration photos and they re-created the most delicious “naked” cake with a gorgeous fruit garnish tying into our modern/rustic theme.

Sidecar Doughnuts, which is conveniently located in the same building as the venue, provided the scrumptious doughnuts, all of which were displayed on our own vintage cake stands. The tables were adorned with gold plates, tall white candles, maroon stripped cloth napkins, and of course lovely florals.

The immensely talented Yen from Ezai Floral Design created the gorgeous garlands and floral pieces using lots of dark leafy greens and clusters of rich burgundy flowers with blush pink and white flowers. The floral arrangements added the perfect touch and tied everything together beautifully.

We had an incredible afternoon celebrating our daughter and we are so very grateful to our friends and family for making the day so special for us. I’m also thankful for my amazing photographer, Katie Jackson, for capturing all the memorable moments that we’ll treasure for a lifetime.

A Gorgeous Hampton’s Dinner Party Meets a Wildly Romantic Wedding

Give me a vineyard and I give you one very happy lady. Now make it a gorgeous summer wedding at a spot that’s reminiscent of the most stunning Hampton’s dinner party and I’m done for. With planning by L. Marie Events and florals by Ovando, this wedding is proof that vineyards make for the dreamiest of venues. See what all the fuss is about with Brian Hatton’s gorgeous imagery right here.

From the planner… Bonnie & Michael’s Summer wedding at the Wölffer Estate Vineyard in Sagaponack was absolutely gorgeous.  Wolffer Estate’s back patio is amazing in that it bridges the gap between inside and outside creating a seamless experience for guests.  Whites and greens were a counterpoint to the surrounding grape vines ready to burst for harvest while long tuscan style tables added a bit of rusticity.  Ample candlelight set a warm mood and allowed for photography to continue unobtrusively as the sunlight faded away.  Bonnie wore Reem Acra and Michael wore a bespoke Seize sur Vingt tuxedo with white jacket.  To cap things off, Bonnie changed in to her mom’s Chinese wedding dress to dance the night away.

Using the spacious home of groom, Alex, Camille created a warm and inviting atmosphere for the ceremony and cocktail reception of Hannah & Alex. Incredible florals spilled from every corner of the backyard and an amazing floral arch was the backdrop for the beautiful ceremony. This Fashionista Bride Is Our New Girl Crush

I think we can all agree Casandra is our new fashion idol. She geniusly paired a chic knee-length BCBG dress with a cathedral length veil for a nontraditional bridal look that stole the show. Big time. Her love Andy looked equally dapper as they wed in Panama City Beach, with Myrtie Blue behind every floral design moment. Pin your heart out in the photo gallery by Shannon Griffin Photography.

From Shannon Griffin Photography Casandra and Andy live in Brooklyn, but decided they wanted a beach, destination wedding. While they wanted it to feel like their guests were at the beach, they also made sure it felt elegant and timeless. They chose Brian of Myrtie Blue to do the florals with soft, romantic colors.

The bride wasn’t traditional in any sense and knew that a long and formal dress wasn’t for her. She chose a knee length BCBG dress with a gorgeous cathedral length veil. Casandra got ready at one of the beautiful homes in Carillon Beach and the ceremony took place in The Meeting House. The reception was tented and on the lawn next to The Meeting House. The ceremony was so full that they had to put chairs outside and people were still pouring in.

From Elizabeth FogartyWhen planning a fall wedding on the coast line of Maryland with a timeless style and perfectly in love couple, there can not be much more to look forward to. Amelia and Jake tied the knot at Silver Swan Bayside in late October surrounded by their loved ones and all the lush blooms and foliage you could ask for. From the beautiful calligraphy boards by the bride, to the speeches by family members, to the plan B ceremony, everything was perfect.

On the wedding day, we woke up to the windiest and coldest day that fall on the shore. We quickly realized that the outdoor ceremony plans would have to be moved indoors. With positive hearts and an incredible team of professionals, we moved Amelia’s garden inspired look inside flawlessly. They shared their vows under a beautiful arch by Blossom & Vine, then head into a soft and elegant cocktail space overlooking the bayside. Jake’s priceless reaction to his beautiful bride-to-be walking down the aisle was the best representation of their love, and was one of my favorite moments.

Amelia and Jake made a point to involve their families wherever possible, and it made the day that much more special. Amelia’s brother started off the reception with a heart felt toast then asked all the guests to the dining room for dinner followed by toasts by her father, sister and Jake’s brother. The enjoyed their meal over hand crafted farm tables and candle light. The rest of the night consisted of many laughs, happy tears, a full dance floor and the start to an incredible life surrounded by all of their favorite people.

Fate Brought These Two Together – And They Celebrated With Fireworks!

They attended the same high school and college, but never met until post graduation, when both were in Chicago. With the groom’s brother playing matchmaker, it all came together and before they knew it, they were saying “I do” back where it all could have started, in Tucson, Arizona. And back at their hometown, they celebrated in a BIG way – with Black Sheep Filmworks capturing the chic style, the sweet kisses and even the fireworks! See it all right this way!

[iframe http://player.vimeo.com/video/179072749 600 338]

From Black Sheep FilmworksOh, Annie and Sean…so swoon-worthy! From that incredible Monique Lhuillier wedding gown, to those red-soled Christian Louboutin’s for BOTH bride and groom, to suspended floral rings to FIREWORKS, Annie and Sean had one of the most chock full of “eye candy” weddings ever.

Annie and Sean both grew up in Tucson, attended Sabino High School, and the University of Arizona… and NEVER met each other! They both moved to Chicago after graduating from the U of A and it was Sean’s brother that introduced them. Sean stated that he was “Going to marry that girl” after their first date, so obviously, fate finally stepped in and these two gorgeous Tucson lovebirds finally found each other!

Love letters that Annie and Sean had written to each other were opened on the day, and read aloud, privately. This was incorporated into their highlight film, as per Annie’s request, and it really connects you to their love story. Not only are they beautiful, with great style, but they are “Oh-SO” in love. Their family and friends (close to 250 of them!) came from all across the globe to take part in this soirée.

Special touches filled Annie and Sean’s wedding. From red soled Christian Louboutin’s for both bride and groom, to the placement of a Mexican lasso during the ceremony, to a wishing tree instead of a guest book, no detail was overlooked. Sean even surprised Annie with fireworks during the reception. This was truly a gorgeous, spicy, “beaming smile” wedding… Bravo, Annie and Sean!!!

Boho Chic Wedding on the Beaches of Anguilla

If you’ve ever dreamed of a wedding on the beaches of the Caribbean, glistening ocean as the backdrop with sand squished between your toes – take note from this Anguilla “I do.” Destination wedding extraordinaire, Michelle Rago brought her expertise to the table with paper pretties by Cheree Berry Paper, and it all made for an epic day captured by Braedon Photography. This way to sunny skies and so much more.

From Michelle Rago Destinations… The bride’s father has a gorgeous home on Anguilla where we were able to host both the ceremony and cocktails, which created such a sense of intimacy and family. Eliza was able to get ready in her bedroom and walk straight out past the pool and face the sea for their ceremony.

The inspiration was Bohemian Chic for ceremony. We created a chuppah out of driftwood collected throughout the year and adorned with orchids and hydrangea. We also accentuated the aisle with manzanita and orchids.

The reception dinner and late night fun took place at the Malliouhana Hotel, where Eliza and Chris got engaged. We transformed the restaurant which sits on a cliff overlooking the ocean.

The ceiling was strung with orchids and hanging candles which twinkled and swayed in the breeze. The centerpieces were all white, lush and low. The flowers were white hydrangea and dendrobium and phalaenopsis orchids. We created a lounge for dancing under the stars after dinner and then moved guests up to the pool for late night dance party with fun lighting!

A Romantic Seaside Wedding for University Sweethearts

My favorite kind of wedding doesn’t rest on one style, one detail, intimate or grand… no, it’s a setting. And that setting is seaside time and again (I’m a little biased, yes). That’s exactly why this coastal fete from Charlotte Jenks Lewis gets my heart a racing. The tented reception thanks to Stamford Tent & Event Services is something out of a dream and when you’ve got portrait backdrops like this and a sweet film from eMotion Pictures, nothing can compare.

Romantic

From the Bride… Our love story began when we met at Miami University of Ohio, at the age of 20. The relationship blossomed, visiting each other over the summers, getting to know our respective close knit families and friends from home, and even included a romantic Paris trip during Pat’s junior semester abroad. I grew up in New York, and Pat in Michigan. With graduation approaching, he took a job in Manhattan while I lined up a job in the area, and we were ecstatic about the beginning the next phase in our relationship. Looking back, I think it was really a turning point. Seven years after our first meeting, Pat proposed at my family’s lake house in New Hampshire with both sets of our parents there to celebrate.

Planning a wedding is an exciting time but it can also be stressful while working, navigating expectations, communicating combined family members, while all the while working through multiple decisions and logistics. My advice to all the brides-to-be is to enjoy every moment, keeping the little things in perspective and making the important decisions in a fun, flexible and collaborative way. I enjoyed the special expeditions with my mom, the times celebrating with friends and the comical dance lessons with my soon-to-be husband. There is a point when all the parts start to come together and you realize the real purpose of the planning. It goes very quickly, but it’s all part of building a life together.

When planning our wedding, we wanted something that reflected our personalities. We chose to get married on the water in Rye, a place where I spent many of my summers and Pat quickly developed a connection to. We chose natural but elegant décor. Lots of greens, whites, and pastels filled our wedding tent set on the Long Island Sound. We were lucky to have one of the most spectacular days of the summer for the wedding day. The water was sparkling, the breezes were gentle and the sun was glistening. Pat and I shared our first dance, touched by a sense that the perfect weather was a special marriage blessing and beloved friends and family encircled us with a breathtaking sunset in the backdrop.

Everyone always says that your wedding day is the most amazing day of your life, and trust me, it exceeded all expectations. Our favorite part of the day was having everyone we loved in one room. It is so overwhelming to see that many people come together, from different stages of your lives, and know that they are there to support you in your marriage journey for many years to come.

Proof That There is a Way Out of the Dreaded Friend Zone

These friends turned fiances are the living proof that getting out of the friend zone is completely possible. They teamed up with We Are Origami to frolic through the hills of The Southern Highlands and capture that special time before “I Do”. It’s an engagement that’s both whimsical and ethereal and the light? Pure magic. See the full shoot with some seriously stylish outfit changes right here in the vault.

From the photographer… The setting for Kim and Justin’s engagement shoot was romantic, whimsical and simple. There was an ethereal pink hue over the day, and gorgeous light on the grounds of Milton Park and the the surrounding fields. Brides will draw inspiration from the romantic scenes which depict the iconic Southern Highlands in a completely unique way to reflect Kim and Justin’s gentle relationship. Kim mentioned, “for as long as we’ve dated, it’s been a really enjoyable easy relationship. Even if there’s conflict, we fight very fairly and resolve things with ease, understanding, patience and compromise.” The heartbeat behind their relationship is ‘falling in love and growing together forever.’ We couldn’t think of a better description! He loved her at first glance… And she loved him two and a half years later! “Justin always had his eye on me, and was interested from the beginning (so he claims), but I didn’t quite feel the same until 2. 5 years later.” No wonder they describe their relationship as patient, perseverant and understanding. It wasn’t until they bonded over pursuing photography by shooting together at Milson’s point in Sydney, when the ‘friendzone’ walls were conquered! It was fitting that they found an absolutely gorgeous location for their engagement photos, valuing photography and treasuring these moments we shared together.

Rustic Romance Abounds With This Wedding Day Inspo

We hung out with some boho bridesmaids, had a romantic romp with these lovebirds and kept it simple and chic with this bridal shoot. And now, last but not least, is Jeremy Chou’s Tuscan inspired shoot from The Process Workshop. Rustic and intimate, this shoot captures a couple in love and the beautiful tablescape created by Cedarwood Weddings where they’ll toast to their happily ever after. But enough text – head to our Vault to see the good stuff!

From Jeremy ChouAs fresh and natural as Italian vineyards along the hills of Tuscany, the Cedarwood Weddings design team combined sophisticated and refined alfresco elements to create a dream destination wedding style in Nashville, TN. Bringing together sunny golden hues in peach, apricot, and butterscotch, the rich colored flowers and natural elements are sure to induce a daydream of sun-drenched meadows and rolling hills.

Clean lines reminiscent of vineyard vines in rows inspired simple but luxe table settings with modern gold flatware and pale green linen napkins contrasted by warm wood and tattered edge seating assignments tucked into the forks. Aged Tuscan urns act as statement bases to both the lush asymmetrical centerpiece and natural arch ceremony altar covered in foraged vines and sunny peach and apricot flowers.

The bride perfectly complements the overall aesthetic with a sophisticated long sleeve lace gown, sleek ponytail, and an unstructured bouquet of airy sunny tones finished off with hand dyed silk apricot ribbon from Honey Silk & Co.

A paper suite from Designs in Paper showcases vintage romance with gold foil details, hand torn edges, and a modern monogram gracing the envelope liner. To complete the look, a combed buttercream cake from Patty Cakes atop of gilded base and finished off with vines and blooms.

Santorini Set the Stage for a Modern, Minimalist Wedding We Adore

Ever since I first saw The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, Santorini has held the #1 spot on my travel bucket list. I mean, with scenery like this can you even blame me? It’s a slice of heaven on earth and Danielle and Jay felt the very same. They exchanged vows in this incredible locale, with vendors like Santorini Glam WeddingsBetty Flowers Santorini and Ben Yew by their side. The result? Utter perfection.

From Santorini Glam WeddingsIf we had to describe Santorini in two words then it would definitely be “white” and “unique view”. Danielle & Jay’s wedding took place at Rocabella Hotel, a venue which combines these two words and provides the perfect white canvas for us to work on!

Of course, such a special place needs discreet and delicate decoration in order to complete the unique landscape and not overshadow it. We started the planning process only a few months prior to the wedding, and I have to admit that when our journey reached this spectacular day, all I wanted was for this day to last as long as possible.

Danielle had a very clear idea of what she likes, and I just loved the way she wanted to incorporate Greek elements into the decoration and styling of the wedding. I still remember those late evening (early morning for her) Skype calls brainstorming all possible ideas until we found the perfect elements for her dream wedding!

What made this wedding so special, apart from the couple of course, was the amazing team of people working behind it. We always advise and guide our couples to pick their vendors carefully. When you work with people you trust and who share the same vision as you, the result is unbelievable.

How to Please Your Bridesmaids When Everyone’s Got an Opinion

Deciding on my bridesmaids was very special. In a way, it was like a walk down memory lane. Together, my eight bridesmaids represented the different parts of my life, from my school years to my stint on The Bachelor. Of course, the thought of juggling eight different opinions, styles, and personalities was intimidating – but that was all part of the fun. Here’s how I made sure everyone felt included while maintaining my sanity!

Take Their Opinions Into Account

We’ve all been in that wedding where we were forced to wear that dress. You know, the $300 satin monstrosity that hasn’t seen the light of day since you stuffed into the back of your closet after the wedding. I didn’t want that to happen with my bridesmaids so I invited them into the decision-making process. Now, you want to be careful with this because you don’t want to be overwhelmed with opinions. But it’s always fun to go on a shopping day with your girls. You can pop some bubbly and sit back while they model for you. At the same time, you already have a sense for what they like and absolutely hate. No matter what you decide, they’ll appreciate you taking the time to hear their fashion thoughts and opinions.

Be Budget Conscious

Ugh, nobody likes thinking about money! I used to work in a bridal salon as a consultant and I witnessed countless brides struggling to balance their budgets against their dreams. When it came to my bridesmaids, I was aware that they would be sacrificing their time and money to be in my wedding. As such, I did everything I could to show them my appreciation. For your maids, be sensitive to their unique situations. Maybe one is in school right now and can’t swing a super expensive bridesmaid dress. Overall, the most important thing is that these women are in your life – not whether they’re wearing a designer gown.

Find compromises, like renting your bridesmaid dresses. Your friendship is the most important thing and should come first- always!

Go For Different Necklines

As a bridal designer, I had a vision for my wedding. I knew I wanted my girls in long, flowing dresses in a particular shade of pinkish red that would feel fashion-forward yet romantic. However, my bridesmaids had different body types. When I used to be a consultant, I loved helping women discover their best styles for themselves. Naturally, I wanted to do the same for my bridesmaids! Even though the dresses were all the same color and similar in style, I picked a unique neckline tailored to each girl’s frame. At the end of the day, the most important thing was that they could dance all night long next to me without worrying about wardrobe malfunctions.

If you want a unified look, you can still get one by doing the same thing. Nowadays, there are tons of bridesmaid designers that offer dresses with different necklines. This way, you can highlight each girl’s features while giving them any support they may need. For example, if you have a busty bridesmaid, you can put her in a style with straps – she’ll get lift and will still be able to wear a bra.

Just Set Perimeters

Another bridesmaid fashion approach is to take the non-approach! Trust your girls? Want a mix and match look? Let your ladies pick their own frocks. Of course, you’ll want to set some perimeters (the last thing you want is to have one girl in light blue chiffon while another one is in navy charmeuse). Send them inspirational photos and a few guiding principles, like hue and length. And, just so you don’t induce any night terrors relating to bridesmaid dress disasters, ask to approve the gowns ahead of time and reserve your veto power! But don’t worry – your girls have great taste and, most of all, they want to make you happy.

At The End Of The (Wedding) Day

Looking back on my wedding planning, I don’t remember the stresses or the little things that went wrong. I remember my closest girlfriends holding my hands on the dance floor and raising a glass to Chris and I. So guess what? No matter how tricky it might get to navigate the various dynamics with your bridesmaids, when it’s over, all you’ll think about are those happy blurs of dancing, hugging, and celebrating.
