It’s Puppy Love at This Florida Keys Wedding

This Florida Keys wedding has the cutest, four-legged bridal party we ever did see! Because the couple loves spending time with their pups – they were even essential in the proposal story! – including the dogs in their wedding day was a no brainer. Decked out in bow ties and a floral wreath, the fur babies served as the couple’s attendants, and the result is adorable! Care Studios captured the al fresco affair, and if you’re experiencing puppy love like we are, head to the gallery for even more!

From the Bride… My favorite thing about Cort has to be his easy going attitude towards life. He always has his eye on the bigger picture and keeps me calm when I’m stressed or worried about something. We effortlessly love each other even when spending all of our time together. What makes us such a great match is our friendship. He travels two weeks a month for work, so when he’s home, we try to hang out as much as possible – this mostly evolves around our dogs, but we like to run or play tennis too. We also enjoy traveling! This past year we went to Napa, Aruba (where he proposed), Las Vegas, Naples, and the Keys a few times for wedding planning.

The best story has to be how he proposed. It took a lot of planning and preparation. He knew he had to include our dogs somehow in the proposal. He decided to propose in Aruba and enlisted the help of my neighbor to craft a creative proposal that incorporated our pets. They came up with the four dogs holding a sign that read, “Will you marry me?” and placed it on a card. While in Aruba, Cort took me to the Renaissance Private Island to get a couple’s massage in a bungalow hut over the water. Once the massage was complete, the masseuse handed me a packet. In the packet was the card with the 4 dogs and a china egg that my dad used to propose to my mom! I knew exactly what that egg meant, and the card was the perfect way to ask.

Cort is from Columbus, Ohio and I’m from Vermilion, Ohio. I used to work in Fort Myers, Florida, but after we met on Match.com, I changed jobs and moved back to the Columbus area to be with him. When I was in the middle of changing jobs, Cort took me to the Keys for a weekend getaway and celebration. For that reason, the Florida Keys have a special meaning to the both of us, so it was a natural choice for our wedding.

We knew we wanted a small wedding with just our families (including our four-legged family members). Finding a venue that allowed dogs and that our families would enjoy was a priority for us. Our wedding planner, Julia, from Blue Water Weddings, found a realtor who showed us a few homes available to rent. It was perfect seeing the homes with Julia because she could visually walk us through the layout for the wedding.

Julia really made the wedding planning process simple and easy. I showed her a few pictures from Pinterest, and we discussed things I liked and didn’t like. She built the whole wedding around my few pictures and our conversation. As the date got closer, I found a few things that I liked that we were able to incorporate in the wedding (including the Groom’s cake and buckeyes). We also had shirts made for our guest to take and remember the day! The shirt manufacturer created cartoon characters of our dogs, Teddy and Tiller! My hair and makeup was done by Linda Schonning, the owner of Florida Keys Bridal Team, and Ana Baidet did the makeup for the Bridesmaids.

The whole day was special, but what really stands out to me is the walk down the dock with my dad and saying my vows to Cort. The vows and first dance are what stand out in Cort’s mind.

A Windswept Engagement on the Australian Coast

The recipe for a perfect engagement session? Great scenery, great style, and a whole lot of love. And having the one and only Sally Pinera behind the lens certainly doesn’t hurt, either. Take a virtual trip to coastal Australia and see how this session pulls off all of the above.

From the bride… The raw and rugged beauty of the Mornington Peninsula coast and the breathtaking sunset reminds me of the goodness and the faithfulness of our Creator God and the miracle of our lives being intertwined.

Three years ago, our paths crossed and there began a beautiful adventure – more exciting and stretching and yet more amazing and fulfilling in every sense of the word.

Jason’s quiet strength carried me through the many changing seasons in life: his love allows me to flourish and blossom in the safety of his embrace; his constant support and encouragement release me to be more than I could ever imagine and to pursue dreams that are larger than life.

As we relish and savour every moment of the evening, embraced by strong winds and warm golden light, we are so thankful for our beautiful photographer Sally and her husband, Robert who capture our joy, our love and this special season of our lives so well, but also inadvertently inspired us with their marriage and enlarged the vision for ours.

We could not think of a day more magical or more swelled with beauty.

Proof That the Best Things Come in Small Packages

Equal parts stunning garden surroundings and elegant details, this inspiration for an intimate elopement is unabashed beauty in its simplest form. If you are planning a small celebration, look no further than this shoot crafted by Sandra Chau along with florals by Trille Floral and images by We Are Origami. It proves great things come in small packages.

Adeline and Elias are two of the sweetest souls you will ever meet. An elopement is such intimate occasion and it is always an honour to be asked to be a part of such an adventurous start to a marriage! Adeline and Elias’s elopement was everything you dream of – a beautiful couple confident in their love for each other spending their day relaxing and celebrating their love with an intimate group of their closest friends and loved ones. Adeline and Elias wanted to keep things simple and romantic so we drew inspiration from the beautiful Southern Highlands surroundings and infused a subtle beauty into the design. Trille Florals wowed us with a stunning floral nest for their intimate nuptials and they were joined by their parents and closest friends and enjoyed a beautifully catered five course meal in the garden followed by dessert and wine by the fireplace. It is a day I will never forget and cannot wait to see what life brings this beautiful couple inside and out.

Bouquet Breakdown: Mauve + Lavender Textural Blooms

Now that we’ve fully immersed ourselves into the beauty of this morning’s inspiration shoot photographed by Jeanni Dunagan, it’s time to take it one step further. We’re breaking down the bouquet that left us speechless – one bloom at a time. Laura’s Floras is delving into details of her bouquet work of art, and you can snag a few pointers to get the look for yourself.

From Laura’s Floras… I find it is so important to draw inspiration for each bouquet from the bride’s dress. This bride’s lacy Claire Pettibone dress begged to be paired with soft, textural florals. Mauve and lavender hellebore and the adorable checkered hellebore brought a touch of color to the floral design, with the purple color adding to the regal feel of the shoot. The cappuccino garden roses were used to help with the color transition between the white blooms and the mauve and lavender flowers. I also chose them because their color goes so beautifully with the sandy tones of the venue.

How Many Gifts Does a Bridesmaid Really Need to Buy?

Whether she’s throwing an all-out destination wedding or an intimate backyard affair, the bride knows being in a wedding can be expensive. She does not expect you to shower her with expensive gifts too. You love your friend and want her to have everything she ever dreamed during this time in her life. But every budget has limits.

As the wedding costs add up, the party invitations can add up, too. So how many gifts is a bridesmaid supposed to buy?

Bridal Showers
When it comes to bridal showers, bridesmaids are typically invited to them all. That does not mean you have to travel for each one. But if you do attend, bring a gift. While you aren’t expected to spend a lot, it’s potentially awkward to show up to a party empty-handed, especially if the bride plans to open gifts in front of the guests.

Brides include an array of prices on their registries. If you know you have three showers to attend, set a budget—say $100—and find three gifts within that range. Some stores offer free gift-wrapping, so your present can look like a million bucks, no matter what you spend.

Lingerie Shower
As part of the bachelorette celebration, bridesmaids often band together to host a lingerie shower. This will be the most exclusive invite list, so each bridesmaid should bring a silky, lacy, or flirty selection. Feel free to go a little crazy with this one! A lingerie shower is the inner circle’s chance to spoil the bride in a way only her best friends can.

Wedding
At a minimum, a bridesmaid must send a wedding gift. If you’ve already spent the equivalent of a rent check and a car payment, consider picking something small and thoughtful from the wedding registry. The idea is the couple will have a keepsake to forever think of you from their special day.

Not sure how much to spend? One rule of thumb is to estimate the bride’s cost per guest, then budget that for your gift. If you’re bringing a date, budget that for each of you. Looking for more guidance? Tendr created this handy state-by-state guide to give you an idea of how much other people are giving in your area.

The bride asked you to be in her wedding because it’s most important to have you standing by her side on her big day. Remember, to her, your friendship is the best gift of all.

A Modern Take on Texas Charm

Because their wedding was the first time many friends of the Bride and Groom would be traveling to Texas, it was important they find a venue that not only suited their personal styles, but also showcased Texas charm. When the couple visited Prospect House – a raw, gallery-like space set amidst the vibrant countryside – they knew they had found the venue for their modern, Austin nuptials. Scroll on to see the final look, captured beautifully by Jenny DeMarco Photography and Brad & Monica Wedding Films.

From the Bride… Kent and I both spent many years living in New York and San Francisco, and most of our friends had never been to Texas. We wanted to choose a destination that would highlight Texas’s charm for our out-of-town friends. Prospect House was the first venue I researched after we decided to have the wedding in Austin, and we fell in love with it immediately.

Prospect House is sleek and modern but set in the beautiful Texas countryside, so I wanted to incorporate floral and greenery elements along with my favorite color (purple) to create a romantic vibe for the night. The clean design of Prospect House was a perfect canvas for us to add little touches throughout the venue, such as calligraphy and stationery designed by Michaela McBride. We created a relaxing lounge and a warm reception with floral details and candles so our friends and family could enjoy the night. Other details include the dessert bar, which consisted of some of our favorite desserts (pistachio macarons and tiramisu bites), and our favors were chocolate chip cookies fromTiff’s Treats, one of Kent’s favorite late night snacks in college.

Our favorite moments throughout the wedding were the heartfelt speeches from our officiant, friends, and family. My sister, Christine, even read a letter that I wrote her 10+ years ago that she had held on to, which brought me immediately to tears.

Say Yes to Sage!

I predict sage green will be the next big thing in weddings – take one look at this springy inspiration session by Anouschka Rokebrand Photography and you’ll see why. Hints of sage peek out from every corner – the subtle ink in the romantic calligraphy, the deep hues of the ring box, and the soft presence of the delicate, cheerful cake. This gorgeous green shoot will leave you wanting more!

From Anouschka Rokebrand PhotographyThis styled wedding editorial was created for my April fine art wedding photography workshop. We worked with an incredible team of international vendors, and our models were Rianne and Daniel – one of my previous wedding couples and adorable people to work with! We went for a natural and organic feel in this shoot, with sage greens, creams, and soft pink shades with a gorgeously styled table, set underneath an old tree in a rustic garden, adorned with a gorgeous centerpiece by Fleuropean. For Rianne, we opted for a 3-piece gown. That off the shoulder lace top took my breath away! Kimi from The Kimi Collective created all the stationery on stunning paper – all handwritten calligraphy in sage green and so, so gorgeous! The cake was in a soft sage green and adorned by fresh flower blossoms. A great feeling of spring time!

A Boudoir Inspired by the Words of Lord Byron

You know Michael & Carina as one of the most talented husband-wife photography duos in the industry, so it should come as no surprise that their latest workshop resulted in some pretty incredible imagery. Just take this boudoir session carefully designed by East Made Event Company with beauty by Emily Artistry. Inspired by the immortal words of Lord Byron, it’s romanticism at its very finest.

From Michael & CarinaRooted in the same concept of romance, history, inspiration, and idealism, these boudoir images are dreamy, lost in a world of florals and soft fabrics. The natural elements, like the vines, hung on the headboard and the freshly collected blooms add a dream-like aesthetic to the editorial. Inspired by art and poetry, our lens was guided by the words from Lord Byron:

“She walks in beauty, like the night

Of cloudless climes and starry skies;

And all that’s best of dark and bright

Meet in her aspect and her eyes:

Thus mellow’d to that tender light

Which heaven to gaudy day denies. One shade the more, one ray the less,

Had half impair’d the nameless grace

Which waves in every raven tress,

Or softly lightens o’er her face;

Where thoughts serenely sweet express

How pure, how dear their dwelling-place. And on that cheek, and o’er that brow,

So soft, so calm, yet eloquent,

The smiles that win, the tints that glow,

But tell of days in goodness spent,

A mind at peace with all below,

A heart whose love is innocent!”
——–

In 2016, we hosted a workshop in Italy for photographers around the world. But as the year came to an end, we had a desire to host something of equal elegance but closer to home in Virginia. Virginia is a lovely homeland – filled with history and a variety of landscapes from rolling meadows and valleys to salty marshlands, with vineyards and old colonial homes sprinkled throughout. We chose a secluded historic home as our workshop location, The Retreat at Cool Springs, built at the start of the Age of Romanticism in music and art, in 1799. Our immensely talented stylist Elizabeth of East Made Event Co. Curated a series of inspirational shoots for our workshop attendees with the 5 ‘I’s’ of Romanticism in mind:

1. Imagination
2. Intuition
3. Idealism
4. Inspiration
5. Individuality

Elizabeth’s instruction to our workshop attendees was to ‘bring true original feeling, emotion, and inspiration back into photography by creating unique ideas that are full of purpose and meaning, inspired by sentiment and nature.’

Inspired by Old World Elegance and a Serious Love of Lace

Straight out of a European destination wedding, this vineyard inspiration proves you can capture that same spirit and old world charm no matter where your venue resides. Surrounded by the traditional villa-esque beauty of Sunstone Winery, Kelly Oshiro and Laura’s Floras set out to craft a day filled with elegant details and in the genius words of Kelly – “a serious love of lace”. Get inspired to infuse some stunning European beauty into your day with image after gorgeous image captured by Jeanni Dunagan plus a film by Lola Video too.

[iframe http://www.youtube.com/embed/xQHc_NqcZRk 600 338]

From Jeanni Dunagan, the photographer… Nestled in the picturesque hills of the Santa Ynez Valley, Sunstone Villa transports you into another time and place. Reminiscent of an old Tuscan manor, Sunstone provides the perfect location for an intimate wedding or elopement. My goal for this project was to infuse European elements – classic architecture from Italy, natural landscape from the olive grove region of Greece, romantic textiles & furnishings from France – to provide inspiration to couples wanting to incorporate elegant European design into their wedding, whether stateside or abroad. From the rustic charm of the villa… To the lush floral design… To the fine lace textures, this European inspired elopement shoot is replete with exquisite details that will inspire a European reverie.

From Kelly Oshiro, the stylist…Inspired by old world elegance and a serious love of lace, I designed this wedding editorial for Jeanni Dunagan Photography. And when it comes to lace wedding dresses, Claire Pettibone’s stunning designs always fit the bill. We chose a long sleeved lace dress with delicate pearl embellishments, booties from Bella Belle which also featured lace and pearls, a delicate pearl headpiece from Untamed Petals and an estate pearl ring from 33 Jewels. For the ceremony design, I used the existing frame at Sunstone Villa and asked the florist to create a Dutch still-life inspired “flower painting” inside the frame featuring spirea, delphinium, and roses. French chairs from Barn Relic made for elegant and comfortable guest seating. For the reception table, I chose an extra long gray farmhouse long table draped with lace linen so the color of the table was still visible. The Ark’s elegant French place settings featured scrolled seating cards by Graceline Calligraphy along with individual flower corsages for guests. The lush florals in tones of white and green with hints of lavender and mauve featured some of my favorite flowers including, white muscari, sweet pea, hellebore, pieris and astilbe arranged in delicate glass and silver footed containers. And what old world inspired shoot would be complete without a vintage getaway vehicle? Or, in this case, a surrey from the 1880’s (and formerly owned by Michael Jackson) and pulled by Mo, the mini donkey.

From Laura’s Floras, the florist… In keeping with the concept of the shoot, I decided to incorporate soft and textural elements into the floral design. I used whites and fresh greenery with touches of sand, mauve, and lavender. The dripping pieris buds, white lilac, astilbe, and lush Spirea are all perfect early spring blooms that are also lace-like in texture. I find it is so important to draw inspiration for each bouquet from the bride’s dress, and these Claire Pettibone designs begged to be paired with soft, textural florals. Mauve and lavender hellebore and the adorable checkered hellebore brought a touch of color to the floral design, and their purple color added to the regal feel of the shoot. The cappuccino garden roses were used to help with the color transition between the white blooms and the mauve and lavender flowers. I also chose them because their color goes so beautifully with the sandy tones of the Villa.

Host a Casual Rosé Tasting Happy Hour at Home

“Rosé all day” has become the summer gal’s anthem, and why not? The pretty pink wine pairs perfectly with sunshine and patios. Lucky for you, rosé season is in full swing! Here’s how to host an easy summer soirée at home.

Why rosé
It’s pretty in pink, but also budget-friendly for group gatherings. Rosé is a young wine (not matured for a long time), which means you can get amazing bottles for a bargain price. You’ll find a lot of great options under $15. And the top of the line is still only $25-$30. That means your budget will stretch for a few more guests—or a few more drinks!

The most important question to ask: how dry is it? Dryer equals less sweet. When in doubt, pick something from France, specifically Provence—the originals when it comes to traditional rosé.

When to serve
Summer is the perfect time to gather your friends for a tasting. And it’s meant to be served chilled – the colder, the better – on a hot day.

Where to serve
The dream place to serve rosé is outside, preferably on a porch, a patio, or poolside. But, honestly, it will taste great anywhere. If you’re hosting indoors, try to find a room with the most natural light.

Event planner Lisa Stoner, from Lisa Stoner Events, has a few tips. “Even though it’s a casual event, it still needs some structure to get people excited. Everyone is so social! Think about adding a dress code, like an all-white party. The pictures will look lovely on social media.”

For a casual happy hour, keep the décor minimal and let the rosé pink “pop” on its own. Serve with festive cocktail napkins for a little more personality. For easy centerpieces, place small bunches of peonies or baby’s breath in vases or clear water glasses around the area and in the restroom.

Simplicity is key. You want your guests to feel relaxed and conversation to flow easily. Match the mood with a light and bubbly playlist (Lisa recommends “French Café” on Spotify).

How to serve
Your friends will be happy as clams sipping rosé from a wine glass as they watch the sunset. Rosé is delicious (and pretty) enough to stand on its own.  During your happy hour, keep bottles chilled in a champagne bucket or a marble wine cooler. Don’t worry if you don’t have one handy. Keep the bottles in the fridge, and bring out two a time for pouring.

It’s also delightful in a cocktail. If you want to offer another option for friends who prefer liquor, feel free to create a rosé signature cocktail option, like “Basil Lemonade Rosé.” Mix a lemon vodka of your choice with rosé, add some basil leaves and soda water, then voila! A refreshing summer drink, fitting your rosé theme.

For those extra hot happy hours, blend rosé, your favorite sorbet, and ice for a fun “frosé” concoction.

Lisa also suggests freezing edible flowers into ice cubes. “Throw these into the cocktails or the wine glasses. They’re pretty and inexpensive!”

Pairs well with…
Anything, really. For a relaxed happy hour, opt for small charcuterie trays. Light and bright bites, like assorted cheeses, crackers, and fruits will complement the light, fruity wine. Placed strategically around the area, your friends can grab a bite as they mingle, and they’ll always have snacks within reach.

In the true spirit of summer, the goal is to help your friends relax and unwind. You won’t need to do much to make your casual happy hour a night to remember. Just keep the rosé – and the conversation – flowing.

Cheers!

A Childhood Friendship Blossomed Into a Beautiful Romance

This adorable Bride and Groom’s story began in China when they were classmates in elementary school. Fast forward a few years – they were both attending colleges in the United States when their friendship blossomed into a romance. At their nuptials on the always pretty Ringling Estate, family and friends (even some from elementary school!) witnessed this couple’s sweet union. The day was beautifully captured by Jillian Joseph Photography, and there’s more for you here.

They kept in touch as they grew up and always remained friends. Michael came to the United States to attend college in Michigan, and when he found out that Lillian was choosing between a few colleges in the States, he convinced her that the closest school to him, Loyola, would be the best choice. As adults pursuing their advanced educations and careers, their longtime friendship blossomed into love.

They decided to host their wedding at the historic Ringling Estate in Sarasota, Florida, where they were joined by family and friends from around the globe – even friends they were classmates with in elementary school!

Luxe “Capital City Chic” Wedding in Washington DC

Once this DC wedding made its way around the SMP office, we deemed it one of the best ballroom affairs to ever hit our pages. No surprise, Julie of Strawberry Milk Events was at the helm of this showstopper, planning every step of the way. Inside the gallery, you’ll find incredible details like a floral-covered ceremony wall and a gilded dessert display that’ll make your jaw drop. Thanks to KT Merry for each and every image, plus a must-see film below by our friends at East West!

MustWatch_swash-01

[iframe https://player.vimeo.com/video/201161948 600 338]

From planner + designer, Julie of Strawberry Milk EventsThis couple wanted to give their guests a “classic D. C.” wedding experience. The ceremony and dance party took place in a “from scratch” ballroom we built on a high-rise terrace overlooking Georgetown, DC on a perfectly sunny, fall day.

The elegant, city-chic affair was both modern and romantic, and an all-white and gray palette incorporated warm fall tones such as beige, blush and antique gold. We wove a unique, laser-cut motif throughout many elements such as the invitations, linen and tent decor (bars, valance, band stage, etc.)

The couple exchanged vows in front of a gorgeous, white flower wall and later danced under the custom, tiered chandelier made entirely of gold leaves which sparkled in the candlelight while city lights twinkling in the background. Exquisite gold draping, a gray and gold custom patterned floor, a French electric violinist during ceremony and cocktails, fall-inspired apple brandy cocktails and DC-themed welcome guest bags were a few additional highlights.

It was fun to see the “tented ballroom” transformation from the ceremony to a dance lounge which took place while the guests enjoyed a delicious, multi-course dinner inside. Guests re-entered the tent after dinner to a rocking band from Elan Artists, a change in lighting which contributed to the change in mood, a too-pretty-to-eat gilded dessert display, and oversized, plush lounge furniture groupings.

High-Fashion Wedding at an Austrian Palace

Right on the border of Austria and Slovakia lies a magnificent palace that’s the setting of this truly unique wedding day. It’s a style mashup of classic, modern, and eclectic that makes for a one-of-a-kind celebration and we can’t get enough. One of our favorite photographer duos, Peter & Veronika told the story of the day, and we’ve got every moment of this high-fashion lovefest right at your fingertips.

From the bride… Our wedding was everything we could ever dream of. From amazing engagement with an incredible sunset in one of Tuscany’s wineries until the final goodbyes with our closest friends after the wedding party in the early morning. We chose everything to happen close to our new home in Devin, Slovakia, so the place is forever soaked with the memories and atmosphere of this day.

After several weeks of discussions and various options we agreed, that it will be the best to keep the wedding preparations at our new home. However stressful it looked like few days before the wedding, the minute our house started to fill with our family and closest friends, we knew it was the best idea.

For the church ceremony, we decided to be a bit serious – we chose to put the right amount of importance to this day and we went to St Martin’s Cathedral in Bratislava, in which coronations of 11 kings and queens took place, including Maria Theresia of Austro-Hungarian Empire. The ceremony was performed by Monsignore Hajdu, and we will be always thankful to His Eminence for being part of our big day.

The venue – Schlosshof’s Orangerie was just a dream come true. High ceilings, amazing window wall, palm leaves, park with a fountain and all that accompanied by a sunset, champagne, many laughs and light October breeze. It was a true blessing to see all our closest family and friends in this amazing place enjoying themselves, dancing, chatting and laughing.

A very important secret to maintaining the spontaneous feeling of our wedding were many vendors, who happen to be our lovely friends and who made even the preparation perfectly enjoyable at all times – talented and wonderful photographers Peter & Veronika, designer of the wedding dress His Majesty Boris Hanecka and his team, super-cool makeup artist Janka Olsinska and our sweet friend Vanessa, who agreed to be our wedding coordinator and made the day incredibly smooth with a non-stop smile on her face.

The theme of their wedding was “the Forest [to represent Sally] meets the Sea [to represent Teva].” Sally is from Australia, and Teva is from Hawaii. Aunty Tutu blessed the ceremony location and blew a conch shell as the couple walked to the alter. She serenaded the couple on her ukulele and performed a Hawaiian ceremony with Teva’s parents as witnesses. Sally and Teva spoke their vows to each other with the dramatic Waipio Valley behind them.

This is What Happily Ever After in Maui Looks Like

Dreaming of a destination celebration in Maui? Then you most definitely need to cozy on up to this breathtaking inspiration shoot from the Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa, because it’s the next best thing. Inspired by the Ali’i Kula Lavender Farm in upcountry Maui and featuring sweet local touches + a beautiful glimpse of the Hyatt Maui’s lineup of brand new wedding venues, it’s what saying “I do” in paradise should truly be.

Celebrating all of the gorgeousness that is the Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa sounds like a fab day to us and the Happily Ever After photo shoot the property hosted was definitely one for the history books. Think of it as a walk-through of exactly what your Big Day could and should be with an amazing wedding brunch in the Japengo wedding venue, an awesome bridal party spa experience, an extra-special lunch + haku lei making in the Palace Suite and a luxe welcome reception in the Presidential Suite. And that doesn’t even include the wedding ceremony and reception dinner on the brand new Halona Kai lawn with ocean views that can only be described as awe-inspiring. They are crazy gorgeous, you guys.

With a garden meets local vibe, a yummy menu using only local Maui produce and ingredients + special touches woven throughout the day (think lavender lemonade and purple DIY bags), Happily Ever After at Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa was beyond gorgeous. Even better? You can take all of the inspo from this shoot and create your very own Happily Ever After with the very same talented staff that obviously knows everything there is to know about creating a dream celebration in Maui. Contact the Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa to get started.

Classic Wedding Showcasing DC’s Finest Spots

Set in Washington DC, this classic winter wedding moved through some of the best spots in the city – getting ready at The Willard Intercontinental Hotel, taking bridal party portraits at Union Station, and saying “I do” at the beautiful and historic Meridian House. Audra Wrisley Photography captured the day, and you can see more of this elegant DC beauty in the Vault.

From Audra Wrisley PhotographyLauren and Matt’s Meridian House winter wedding was held on a perfectly crisp January day with soft light and warm joy that spread from beginning to end. From the stunning ivory and taupe stationery suite to the ivory and green florals, the elegant tone was set for their guests who traveled from near and far to spend the day celebrating this sweet couple.

On their wedding day, set in the heart of Washington DC, we were able to capture snippets from all around the city, beginning with the getting ready excitement at the Willard Hotel, then onto Union Station for portraits, and later with the wedding festivities at the incredible Meridian House. As a former ambassador’s home constructed in the 1920s, each room of the Meridian House is full of character and history, from the intricate french paintings to the antique oriental porcelain adorning the spaces. Dinner was held in the library room and dining rooms, where heartfelt toasts preceded an amazing first dance in the ballroom.

Doctor Ian Qureshi and Kate Pryor returned home for their Spring destination wedding in New Orleans, LA. Kate had a clear vision for the design of her wedding day. A clean palette of cream and green were perfectly in line with her desire for an outdoor intimate garden wedding ceremony. Her florals included lush greens with pops of color designed by Leaf + Petal NOLA. Custom illustrated invitations with rich green lettering helped to continue the design story. Kate’s day started off at Melrose mansion in the most culturally rich area of New Orleans. The ceremony and reception were held a the Pitot house. The historic home overlooks the beautiful Bayou St. John and holds one of the most beautiful outdoor spots for an intimate ceremony. Following the ceremony Kate and Ian walked across the Bayou for a loved filled portrait session before joining their guests under their tented reception.

Untamed Southern Beauty at This Bridal Inspiration Session

What happens when you combine a fashion blogger bride-to-be, a rich, leafy bouquet by Janna Brown Design Co., and Draper Gray Photography at the golden hour? Bridal session magic. From the Bride’s soft waves and and perfectly undone braid to her hand beaded, Rue de Seine gown, to her dewy beauty look (done by her mother aka Carrie Underwood’s personal makeup artist!), we’re in love with this romantic look.

From Janna Brown Design Co.We were delighted to create a pre-wedding bridal shoot for the lovely Hunter Shcleicher, a fashion blogger out of Nashville, Tennessee. Jess, of Draper Gray Photography, aimed to catch the golden hour, and it quite literally set these images aglow. Hunter donned a Rue de Seine gown from The Dress Theory Nashville, complete with hand beaded details. I created lush florals, brimming with cream and burgundy tones, which paired perfectly with the calligraphed details by Julie Ha Calligraphy. Cali Jeffries, of Parlour 3 in Nashville, perfected Hunter’s golden locks with a twisted braid of untamed goodness, full of texture and volume. We’re sure this style will be pinned a time or two! Melissa Schleicher, Hunter’s mother (who also happens to be Carrie Underwood’s personal makeup artist), achieved a dewy glow, the perfect look for an outdoor southern wedding. From Hunter’s rings to her nail polish, we’re smitten with this girl’s style!

A Romantic Elopement with the Best Ever View of the Eiffel Tower

Just in case you need any more reason to plan a romantic elopement in the City of Light, Greg Finck has come to the rescue. Together with Rime Arodaky and Harold James, he crafted inspiration for the perfect Parisian wedding. It includes lots of lace, a dash of bubbly and the most gorgeous views of the Eiffel Tower. Take a little trip to the prettiest spot on the planet through the lens of a master.

Funded in 1780, Chaumet is one of France’s finest jewelry Maison. Located in the glorious Place Vendôme, it is a symbol of luxury and craftsmanship. Three months ago, we teamed up with the Maison, the bridal designed Rime Arodaky and myself, to create this Parisian Editorial. We are following a Parisian couple the day of their wedding, from their private apartment in the VIIth district of Paris (hence that amazing view of the Eiffel Tower), to their wedding ceremony, and back at the apartment for an intimate celebration with Champagne on their rooftop. The aim of this editorial is to emphasize the beauty of getting married or eloping in Paris. The story highlights some breathtaking views of the City, and is embellished by Chaumet’s amazing jewelry, and Rime Arodaky’s stunning dresses.
