French Inspired Chateau Lill Summer Wedding Inspiration

One look at this inspired editorial and you’ll feel like you booked a first trip ticket to France! With inspiration drawn from the French countryside and summertime, a color palette of warm yellow, cream, and blue delights. The free-flowing, organic flower styling by Leah Erickson Floral have us feeling like we’re strolling through the prettiest of Parisian gardens. Each inspired detail was lovingly planned by Willow & Ivy Events, and beautifully captured fully in film by Matt Erickson Photography. Enjoy all the elegance in the full gallery.

From Willow & Ivy EventsInspired by the French countryside in the summertime, Alexandra of Willow & Ivy Events pulled together an incredible team to create this luxurious wedding editorial in shades of French blue, buttery yellow with punchy pops of yellow in the florals. The incredible setting of Chateau Lill in Washington’s famous winery district of Woodinville was the perfect backdrop with its stunning architecture and ample gardens, complete with stunning florals and multiple ponds.

The butter-yellow florals tied into the intimate elopement-style free-standing ceremony setup across the pond from the reception space. The intricate paper details created by Cree and Co brought an elevated level of sophistication and French flair.

The tablescape was inspired by the patterned linen and opulent velvet napkins from BBJ Linen and was accented with more modern plates and flatware from CORT Party Rentals. In contrast to the abundant blue on the table, Leah Erickson Floral created a stunning garden-inspired organic centerpiece full of bright yellows, soft butter, and various shades of white and cream. The incredible cake by Rue Cler Seattle mimicked the linen and invitation suite with small added raised details peeking out from the folds in the frosting.

Chic New York Style Meets Southern Estate Wedding

There’s nothing quite like southern hospitality, and for this wedding held at Great Marsh Estate it was mixed with just the right touch of NYC cool. Inspired by the idea of a southern girl falling in love with a city boy, traditional elements like chintz and bows mix with bold colors and patterns. Just one look at the ceremony tree overflowing with blooms by Love Blooms Floral Design and you’ll be sure to fall in love. Swoon Soiree planned the day in a beautiful and socially conscious way, choosing to work with a venue and vendors that celebrated the southern aesthetic but didn’t ignore the sensitive history of the south. The images by David Abel Photography are a timeless storytelling of history, style, and romance. Get lost in the tale in the full gallery.

From Swoon SoireeIt is no secret that the South East boasts hospitality, southern charm, and some seriously great food. It is also no secret that New York City is famous for its fashion, architecture, art, and its incredible cultural mix and social scene. So what happens when a girl from the south, falls in love with a boy from the city?

When conceptualizing this shoot, we wanted to showcase a beautiful southern venue, but remain socially conscious, and sensitive, to the history of the south. Many of the venues in our area are previous plantations, working farms, or private estates that supported slavery. After a very deep dive into our industry, our local markets, and the clients we serve, we found a venue. Great Marsh Estate has a stately, southern aesthetic, but no history or dark past.

The design was inspired by the Grandmillenial style. This style is rooted in southern hospitality, tradition, familiarity, and etiquette. With elements of Chintz, bows, pattern play, rattan, layers, and lots of color, this is no doubt a southern soiree. We wanted to show that you are able to celebrate your marriage, and your heritage, without romanticizing or ignoring the history of slavery in our country.

How to Make Your Submission Sail to the Top of SMP’s Front Page

Time and time again, we’re asked the same question… “What does it take to be published on Style Me Pretty?” As most of you may have guessed, the answer isn’t quite as simple as one would imagine. With over 500 submissions per week from vendors and couples alike, hoping to see their work or wedding grace the pages of SMP, our editorial team carefully selects a mere 2-3% for publication on the Front Page.

We feel so incredibly fortunate for every single submission that comes through our doors, we know just how much time and effort is spent perfecting them. As we walk you through a detailed list of tips and tricks to aid in your submission process, please remember – we never want you to feel discouraged if your submission is not accepted for publication on SMP, due to the sheer volume of submissions we receive, we are unfortunately put in the position of denying many beautiful events we dearly love. It has absolutely nothing to do with how talented you are, or how special the event truly was – sometimes, it’s just a matter of a full calendar!

“Style Me Pretty most definitely has a look. A feel. Pretty. Fresh. Clean. Classic…with a twist. Pretty weddings are everywhere but those that we carefully choose to publish on site, have something extra. A sparkle. A hint of wow without being over the top. Rooted in the classic but with a fresh, modern approach.” – Abby Larson, Founder of Style Me Pretty

Now, let’s talk specifics! Want to make your wedding stand out in the crowd? Always follow these tips…

1. Make sure your submission is complete!

It’s so important when reviewing that we have all the necessary information before making a decision on a submission. When we say “complete”, we’re talking… a full gallery of images (more on this in tip #2), a detailed description of the day (see tip #3), and a full list of vendor credits – the more hyperlinks the better! One of the most common challenges we face when it comes to submissions is, undoubtedly, vendor credits. More often than not, we receive an urgent request to add/edit a vendor’s name to an already published editorial. Although we’re a tiny team over here at SMP, we always do our best to make sure every request is taken care of – but it would be SO helpful if you could please triple check the list of vendor credits before submitting to make sure they’re correct, and all there!

2. Upload a full gallery of images

Ahh the images – also known as “the fun part”, but admittedly more complicated than you’d think! When we say we’re looking for a full gallery of images in order to review and curate the submission properly, we’re not simply asking for you to hit a certain number of images (80-120 is ideal), it’s even more than that. Although we publish far more images than a magazine spread, we also carefully curate the types of images that we put up. Every image included should be able to stand alone or work as a collection. Consistency in color, tone, style and execution are incredibly important. We need images that show the bride, her fashions, the maids, the groom, the flowers, centerpieces, decor elements, favors, invitations, etc. It’s super easy to forget about flat lays – but they provide the perfect amount of breathing room in every gallery, a crucial component to our curation process!

Although they can be loads of fun, we don’t want to see too many images of the guests dancing or smoking cigars, no matter how beautiful they are. Those types of images really don’t resonate well with our readers. Additionally, detail shots are very important in considering the wedding for publication, though details should be in healthy balance with the wedding story – the getting ready, the personalized touches, the moments. We do use black and white photography peppered in so feel free to include a very select group of black and white imagery as well. Lastly, the majority of your gallery should be vertical imagery, with about 10% horizontal!

All of these elements combined allow our unique editorial curation process to prosper. Through our careful board curation process, our editors are able to tell a story of how the wedding day unfolds – from getting ready moments to the last dance, balancing the near and far, in an artistic manner that truly let’s the little details shine.

3. Give us the details, make your description count!

A huge part of the feature relies on the story of the day! Ideally, we like to have the write-up come from the couple, but that’s not an absolute – words from the planner, designer or photographer are just as good! Please do your best to properly respond to as many of the writing prompts provided in the submission as you can, and make sure to reference the Do’s and Don’ts before submitting!

The more info we have, and the more unique attributes, the better. Remember that at it’s core, SMP is a social engine pro – and the elements that go viral on social for your business are the things that you might not have thought of or that aren’t obvious from the images. Whether the bride is a planner herself, whether some awesome new product/brand was used, whether there was a special appearance from the couple’s favorite artist or their four legged friend was their ring bearer – dig deep and find the coolness!

4. Keep SMP’s aesthetic and preferred photography style in mind

This shouldn’t come as a surprise – but SMP has a very particular brand aesthetic. We love those gorgeous, film-focused, airy, editorial-driven photographs.

We gravitate towards images that are clean, simple and that haven’t been too fussed with. We do our best to steer clear of images that are too busy or have too much going on in them. Although we completely understand and love that there are many different types of photography styles, we’re inclined to fall more in love with photographs that are shot in a magazine style approach. Where the details are set against a simple, clean backdrop and have been thoughtfully styled. We see far too many bouquets set against brick and ivy, far too many invitations that are washed out and feel messy. You are your own best stylist, so get in there and take a bit of control with the wedding story!

5. Use real couples in your styled shoots

We tend to care more about the execution of the design than whether or not the shoot has perfect models. In fact, we’d rather see real emotion from real men and women in shoots, a variety of skin tones, sizes and sexual orientations.

6. Include a link to the wedding video, if you have one!

If you have access to the video, it will always make the wedding much stronger online. We like videos that are under 3 minutes, ideally in the 2 minute time frame. Please be sure that your video is in either Youtube or Vimeo format and the sharing settings are set public.

7. Don’t forget to include the location!

Include a city + state in the title of your submission. This allows us to ensure that we are covering all areas of the US and beyond. We are often lacking content from certain areas and if you reach out, we’ll be happy to share our needs list.

8. Think unique!

This goes without saying, but we are desperate (singing from the rooftops desperate) for weddings that showcase designs and trends that have never been done before. We’re craving indoor weddings done right, new approaches to old styles (for example, a modern approach to a barn venue), an epic escort card display, or a fashion trend that will have the next generation of brides buzzing. We see so many weddings every day that certain styles begin to feel a bit overdone. So, if there is a unique angle, it will definitely catch our attention.

9. Keep diversity in mind

As many of you may know, last summer we compiled a list of 6 promises to champion a true change against racism and inequality in the wedding industry. One of the promises we made to our readers was to increase our representation of the BIPOC community on Style Me Pretty. Our overarching goal with this promise is to ensure that every person, no matter the color of their skin, their culture, their sexual orientation, gender identity or their religion, feels comfortable, at home and inspired when they read Style Me Pretty. We want to ensure that our readers regularly see themselves in the content of our site and on our social channels, and so realize the need for our content to be more representative of the different ethnicities that make up the population around us. Since then, we have made strides in our efforts – but we continue to encourage you all to please submit weddings and styled shoots that feature BIPOC couples for consideration to SMP. In the same light, we are always looking for same sex weddings to publish as well.

It’s important to remind you here that every wedding is judged on a case-by-case basis. So, if you feel the wedding may be lacking in other areas but makes up for it in others, for example, it has an element of diversity or a very touching story – then we will absolutely do our very best to make it work!

10. Remember to be kind

Although there is by no means a “nice” rule here at SMP, we always remember the ones that are! There of course have been so many instances where a vendor may have been particularly rude after their submission was declined, or after it has taken us a while to get back to them with an answer. Sometimes it can be so easy to forget that we’re all human, and although we might be mighty, we’re a tiny team of people just trying to do the best we can everyday – just like you! We really appreciate and remember the vendors that show us grace and kindness throughout and after the submission process. This does not mean that you should feel uncomfortable asking for feedback on a declined submission – we are always more than happy to talk to our LBB members about how they might be able to improve, or fill them in on exactly why their submission was passed on at that time.

We so hope this gives you all a better understanding and grasp on the ins and outs of our submissions process here at SMP! As always, we are so incredibly grateful for your continued love and support – sometimes we truly wish we could give a big hug to each and every one of you. Should you have any questions or concerns, you know where to find us!

XOXO,

The SMP Team

Want to design the engagement ring of your dreams? Check out their ring builder tool for a completely customized ring!

Hidden Halo

These double diamond delights feature a secret only the wearer will be wise to: beyond the magnificent diamond bezel surrounding the center stone, there is a hidden ‘halo’ of pave diamonds just below the center stone on the ring’s setting. While not visibly viewed from the initial glance, upon a closer look, this surprise diamond setting shines from within and elevates this extraordinary setting to another level. The hidden halo rests atop a sleek pave band, completing this sparkle-covered look. Hidden Halo settings are available with a range of center stones, from round brilliants and ovals to pear shapes and emerald cuts. For those looking to sparkle inside and out, you’ve found your ring.

Embellished Solitaire

For those looking for something classic yet slightly different, perhaps a ‘sprinkle’ of diamonds will fit the bill! Think of a timeless setting, with a round, oval, Cushion, or Princess cut diamond set on a sleek band. Now add smaller diamonds surrounding the center stone, like petals on a flower, creating a bezel with a slight halo effect. Alternatively, diamonds are available studded along with the band, making this ring anything but ordinary, and perfect to be stacked with a wedding band or two! These tiny diamond additions bring a special touch to a ring, truly setting it apart.

Whether an actual hidden gem is your style or a sprinkle of diamonds added to that classic setting, LovBe has just the ring for you. Their stunning engagement rings are of the highest quality and always lab-grown, making you feel extra good about that new addition to your left hand! So, run, don’t walk to show your other half these new rings!

Intentionality and Purpose Were Infused Into Every Detail at This Garden-Inspired Vow Renewal

This garden-inspired editorial is bound to make your heart blossom! LoveLee Experiences created the perfect intimate setting to celebrate this couple’s vow renewal at McGovern Centennial Gardens. Intentionality and purpose were infused into every detail as Event by Ova enclosed the ceremony space with a semi-circle of florals to represent the couple’s all-encompassing love for each other and their guests. Thoughtful touches like the prettiest champagne tower and flower-adorned cakes made for even sweeter memories to cherish in the years to come. Take in all the blooming beauty of flourishing love at the full gallery, captured by the ever-talented Studio Rendition!

From LoveLee ExperiencesAn intimate event means more attention to intentional detail and not the contrary. What has taken us by storm during the pandemic and turned out to be such a beautiful way to celebrate with those you love! This styled shoot contains elements that emulate an actual intimate vow renewal.

We are purposeful when choosing married couples as models to capture snapshots of a story that reflects the depth of their marriage. Our couple celebrated their 18th year of marriage at the end of June! The ceremony space is a blueprint for a design that can expand to a guest count to fit an intimate event.

The flowers were intentionally designed to be a semi-circle and enclose the guest space, a way to symbolize those who have been an integral part of a couple’s marriage. The cake, sweetheart table, and champagne tower serve as a way to tie everything together into one sweet, memorable occasion.

A Cascade Of Colorful Flowers Frame This Ceremony On Italy’s Lake Como

It doesn’t get prettier than this wedding inspiration shot at Italy’s prestigious Lake Como. Our real-life couple, Beatrice and Paolo, exchange vows in one of the most romantic places on earth under a moon-shaped flower arch by Cinque Terre Floral Design that’s sure to take your breath away. To up the swoon factor the couple even exchanged a diamond heirloom ring belonging to the bride’s grandmother. The ethereal beauty of the destination inspired the details of the day which turned into magical moments thoughtfully planned by Elena Renzi. Beauty awaits at every turn in the artful imagery by ManiSol Wedding, visit the full gallery to get a closer look.

From ManiSol WeddingWith this inspiration shooting, we wanted to embrace the ethereal beauty of Lake Como in all its details, shades, and wonderful atmosphere. Everything started with the choice of the venue – the majestic, private Villa La Cassinella, the only villa on the lake that is only accessible via its waters.

The stationery was made using handmade, recycled paper and we chose to use the classic Lake Como rowboats instead of motorboats or water taxis. We got the inspiration for the color palette from the Villa itself: soft orange, green, and peach pink designed to match and blend with the beauty of the Villa and the lake.

We chose a colorful table set for the wedding dinner, matching the beautiful color of the porch. A peach pink embroidered tablecloth, hand-painted plates, and colorful flowers did the rest!

This Photographer’s Wedding Is Pretty As A Picture

Say cheese! This photographer’s wedding is sure to have you smiling. When it came to capturing the details of her Big Day, Rachel turned to none other than her own team of photographers at Mandelette Photography. With a list of vendors that felt more like family to the bride and groom, you can feel the love and happiness from the elegant ceremony to the cocktail-style reception. Blooms by Ashland Addison Floral & Event Decor are just the right touch of romance mixed with fun, and The Simply Elegant Group made sure every well thought out detail had Rachel and Cole smiling. Visit the full gallery to feel the love.

From the bride… Cole and I got married on the luckiest day of the year. 7-18-21: these are all lucky numbers both in Vegas and Jewish tradition. The one thing missing from our wedding was my father, who passed away from brain cancer this March. He was shining down from heaven on our cocktail-style event, and I carried his handkerchief down the aisle on my bouquet.

One of the final parts of our day, before our sparkler exit, we played the video I had filmed dancing with my father in my autumn wedding dress, back in October of 2020, before he passed. You can see in the room that there was not a dry eye around. It was heartbreaking not to have him there, but I know he walks with me every step. Down the aisle, into married life, and every day.

A Vibrant Spring Wedding in Coral and Yellow Hues at L’Auberge Del Mar

Miss Natalie Bray Studios does it again – brightening our days, one gallery at a time! Today’s real wedding was just the dose of vitamin D we needed to start the week off right. Blue Pansy Floral created the most cheerful arrangements, bursting with coral, hot pink and yellow hues. SD Weddings by Gina kept the festivities going off without a hitch while the couple and their guests danced the night away under string lights and stars. Don’t forget to check out the full gallery of pretty before you go and pin your faves!

From Natalie Bray Studios… With 3 postponements and many changes due to pandemic Jayla and Victor were finally able to wed on a stunning Spring day at L Auberge Del Mar. With their closest family and friends it was a day full of emotion and complete love.

The couple wanted a timeless and elegant celebration full of vibrant colors, laughter, and great food. Blue Pansy Floral Design brought the most beautiful blooms of coral, hot pink, and yellow to all aspects of the floral design. The bridal bouquet was a show stopper and accented Jayla’s off the shoulder gown perfectly.

She wore Ruby earrings as red is a symbol of good luck in her family. The ceremony overlooked the ocean and was accented with a circular arch and lots of stunning blooms. It truly brought the design and planning from SD weddings by Gina to life. Jayla and Victor chose to say personal vows to each other during their first look. It was an incredibly tender moment for the two of them. They dined under the twinkle lights and perfect sunset. Couldn’t have asked for a more heartfelt celebration and well worth the wait.

Modern Wedding Planning Means There Are No Rules – And We’re Here for It!

People have been getting married for centuries and, as such, certain codes of conduct have materialized: rules, etiquette, traditions, etc. to give couples guiding principles and a template to plan out one of the most important life events. Not going to lie, there are some mainstays that we wouldn’t be opposed to keeping around for all-time: for instance, an engagement ring or any piece of proposal jewelry – diamonds or gems of any kind work just fine as a prop for a VIQ (very important question). For the most part, though, it’s 2021 and the only real requisite that a couple should follow for their wedding is to keep their love intact and to plan something that’s completely representative of their relationship and everything that means the most to them.

We thought it might be fun to provide a run down of some of the biggest wed-iquette (that’s wedding etiquette, FYI!) considerations and then sound off on Style Me Pretty’s modern iteration. If you’ve been following us for a while, you probably already know that we’re huge proponents of personalization and details so delightful they add the perfect dose of pretty to your party. So, when wedding ‘rules’ are concerned, we say go ahead and break them, it’s your day, you do you!!

Read along for our SMP take on some of the longstanding wedding playbook follies, as well as a few recommendations on gifts to celebrate your whole aisle team. Yep, the wedding and all of its lead-up gives the pedestal up to the bride, but that doesn’t mean she can forget about all the beautiful souls who got her there

The Old Rule: The bride’s parents host the engagement party

The New Take:

Anyone can do it, even and especially if the couple wants to host the celebration themselves! The COVID pandemic has influenced the wedding industry tremendously – but one positive thing it’s done is allowing brides and grooms to figure out their own affairs. Not to say that parents (of either the bride or the groom) can’t plan something like an engagement party, but since the world is still spinning on this social distancing/virtual axis, the modern couple is much more equipped to customize an e-party event that heeds public health cautions, honors their own tastes, and hypes up their ‘I Do’ crew overall.

Oh! And that means the to-be-weds can take the lead on making toasts, too. There’s nothing wrong with starting this whole journey off with a real big “Cheers to us!”

The Old Rule: The bride’s parents pay for the [wedding] day

The New Take:

These days, there are no assumptions for who will pay for the day. The couple may be paying for the wedding all on their own, they may be receiving financial support from their parents or other family members, and other times, budgeting for the big day can be drawn from a virtual potluck of private patronage.

So, if you’ve just gotten engaged, take matters into your own hands and get up-to-date with all the latest on wedding planning. You’ll feel a whole lot more comfortable having those conversations about money later on.

The Old Rule: The bachelorette party is a complete surprise for the bride

The New Take:

Surprises are cool, for sure, but nowadays brides want to be in on the fun and have a finger on the pulse of their party – and we totally support them! Not to mention, with the pandemic throwing such a wrench into all parts of the engagement process (from picking a date and place to planning all of the pre-wedding fetes) you can’t blame a bride for wanting to be in control and for getting psyched over all the pomp and circumstance and paraphernalia that comes with a bachelorette trip, weekend, night out, etc.

It’s not just about the bride sash, the guest of honor needs her squad all decked out, too!

The bride graces the aisle in a gown that honors her inner goddess. The groom in a classic style white tux. As the couple says their “I Do’s” and head back down the aisle, I Imagine the guest entering the reception to this classically landscaped garden.

Greeted by a lovely display of beautiful blooms, they would be excited to create their own floral creation in a Bouquet Favor Bar complete with stunning high quality ribbons. The reception florals were a beautiful mix of unique dried florals and fresh flowers giving this garden look a touch of a fine art style. This intimate celebration with loved ones and friends would spare no detail. Including customize monogram napkins and a beautiful champagne bar. It would truly be a day filled with love…… And lavender.

La Vie en Rose Wedding at La Caille’s French Chateau

This French-inspired Utah wedding is bursting with charm. From the welcome baskets brimming with wine and cheese to the oil-filled favor bottles, every detail of this special day is well thought out by Kate Elizabeth Events. Little moments made everything magical, from draping the chateau’s grand staircase pillars in soft, organically styled greens to peacocks roaming freely at cocktail hour. As you scroll through the artful imagery by Alexia Nilsen you’re sure to be enchanted at every turn. See it all in the full gallery.

From Alexia NilsenThis editorial is quite literally La Vie en Rose, or “life in happy hues,” brought to fruition in wedding form. We wanted to create a visual wedding story to inspire modern brides who are classic at heart and crave an elegant, timeless celebration.

One of the main areas of focus for the shoot lies in the textures and qualities of materials and the intentional placement of individual eclectic items. The French-inspired chateau at La Caille set the stage for a romantic sunset ceremony, while its private vineyard allowed close family and friends to dine with a view.

The scalloped windows above the balcony inspired our choice of imported English linen napkins, custom oval menus, and delicately hand-drawn calligraphy which illustrates a personal and truly luxurious feel from start to finish.

Dreamy Desert Wedding Featuring Watercolor Touches Done By The Bride Herself

This dreamy desert wedding features artwork from the bride herself! She painted a watercolor series in pastel desert tones, which was incorporated in everything from the save the dates to a map detailing weekend activities inside the welcome bag. The desert proved hot in more than one way, with the expert help of planning team Revel Wedding Company, who was able to turn the couple’s vision board into a jaw-dropping reality. The expansive and rugged desert landscape was the perfect backdrop for a sensational burst of blooms by Carte Blanche. Elyse Hall Photography captured every magical minute in her artful imagery. From the bride… Mike and I first met while living in Charlotte, North Carolina through some mutual friends. He was so confident and direct from the moment we met, but it was his consistency and persistence that won me over. From day one he has been the most consistent and supportive person in my life.

One weekend in July, we had a casual trip to Telluride planned and it was on that trip, right in the middle of Main Street with everyone cheering, that he proposed. It was so unexpected and so perfect. Not only did he pull off the perfect surprise, but he had flown to North Carolina a few weeks prior for only 12 hours to ask my parents for their blessing in person.

When it was time to start wedding planning we looked at our home states of NC, FL, and then CO before realizing that no matter where we chose would be a destination for a large portion of the guest list. When we thought about our big day, we knew we wanted it to be outside and a well-traveled destination for the guests. Mike suggested we consider Arizona and he was so right!

European Colorful Editorial at the Romantic Del Mar Country Club

There’s no need to shy away from color! Bright and bold palettes can be equally as elegant as their neutral counterpart, and this editorial set at the Del Mar Country Club is proof. Keeping everything light, delicate, and romantic Exhale Events planned a day filled with special touches. Cavin Elizabeth Photography not only photographed this beautiful editorial but also provided the fashion-forward wardrobe for the bride from her bridal boutique The White Flower. Studio Fleurish kept the colors woven throughout the various designs of the day in the most wonderful of ways. Get lost in all the romance inside the full gallery.

From Exhale EventsThe timeless and elegant European aesthetic and architecture of the Del Mar Country Club transports you back to another time and place. Its lush walls of greenery, old world architecture, and sprawling acres of land made a beautiful canvas for our colorful, floral garden-inspired editorial.

Our color palette focused on summer tones of bright pinks, oranges, corals, and yellow with a blend of lighter muted tones for décor and detail accents. The focal point was a beautiful escort display with bright blooms framing the soft-colored envelopes with guest names beautifully calligraphed from Four Things Paper.

Our vision for the table and floral was to integrate a beautifully patterned linen and colorful blooms that looked as though they were growing organically out of the table. With so much color on the table, we chose to keep our cake on the neutral side. Milly’s Fine Cakes created a stunning masterpiece that showcased the details of the bride’s first look and then complimented our cake with floral lollipops and homemade chocolates that incorporated bright edible flora petals to keep our design cohesive yet elegant.

This California Florist Picked Gorgeous Airy Tones for Her Summer Wedding

The florals at this Carmel Mountain Ranch Estate were EVERYTHING! Modern Bouquet created an airy garden feel for the bride (a florist herself) and groom with delicate blooms in muted, neutral shades and subtle hints of blush and honey. These sweethearts paid homage to their heritage with their ceremony, opting to have a mass filled with Filipino traditions at the stunning Mission Basilica San Diego de Alcala. The beautiful day ended with a vibrant night, planned by RBCO Events, which included a bride-brother hip hop dance and the most delectable mini donuts by Donut, Hello. Stop by the full gallery, captured by Amy Golding, to be delighted by the sweet ambiance and all the playful details!

From the Bride… We wanted our wedding day to be a reflection of our love. Alex and I are sweethearts and at the time of our wedding, we were together for 15 years! After a difficult year filled with unknowns due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we were really looking forward to seeing and celebrating with our closest friends and family. Earlier in the year I accepted my dream job and Alex graduated from his DPT program. We had lots to celebrate!

Wanting to create a romantic, organic, and bright ambiance, we decided to keep our color scheme muted and neutral with hints of blush and honey tones. I asked our florist, Modern Bouquet, to incorporate delicate blooms with different types of greenery to bring a garden feel to our arrangements. Coupled with our amazing venue, the outcome was so, so beautiful!

Both our faith and our heritage are very important to us. Our ceremony took place at Mission Basilica San Diego de Alcala where we celebrated with a mass filled with Filipino traditions. We opted not to decorate our ceremony location to appreciate the beauty of the mission and its history. Carmel Mountain Ranch Estate served as the perfect canvas in making our vision a reality. The second we stepped on to the grounds we knew it was the venue for us. We quickly fell in love with the lush greenery and the large windows in the banquet space. Modern Bouquet did an amazing job of brightening up the space with her arrangements. To incorporate more greenery we decided to add smilax vines to the gold chandeliers – a decision my husband takes all the credit for!

I work full time as a registered nurse; but when I’m not taking care of patients I am (part time, self-proclaimed) wedding/event florist!

As you can imagine, the florals were EVERYTHING for me. It was what I was most excited about!
I immediately cried after seeing the reception space for the first time – it was everything I imagined and so much more! Hannah really outdid herself.

I knew I found my dress the moment I saw a photo of it online. I went to Archive Bridal to try it on and that was it! It was light, romantic and feminine. My dress and veil were Pronovias and my shoes were Loeffler Randal. Alex opted for a classic black tuxedo from Robert’s Men Suits & Custom Tailoring. We had Donut, Hello come and make mini donuts for our guests! Everyone loved it!

My brother and I did a surprise hip-hop dance routine for our bride and brother dance. The most special part of the day was walking down the aisle! After the wedding party, they closed the big wooden doors to the church to build up the anticipation. We did not do a first look so it was such a special moment when those doors finally opened and we laid eyes on one another. *cue waterworks!

This Fly-Fishing Themed Wedding Is The Perfect Catch

This couple had a fishing theme for their wedding and the result has us hooked! Martis Camp with its incomparable mountain vistas, dance floor canopied by pine trees, and stocked trout ponds made for the perfect venue for this outdoorsy-themed day. Fly motifs decorated save-the-dates and invitations, welcome bags, and day-of elements preparing guests for the fun to come. The couple even rigged a few fishing rods on the big day so that guests could dabble in their favorite hobby throughout the reception! With the help of Audere Events, the day was not only personalized but also extremely elegant with a classic aesthetic to compliment the incredible mountain venue. One of the bride’s favorite memories was walking down the aisle with her father, the man who taught her how to fish, while holding a delicate bouquet of lily of the valley and sweet pea designed by Stems by Diana. Each and every beautiful moment was lovingly captured by the incredibly talented Larissa Cleveland Photography. Grab a fishing pole and enjoy the full gallery.

From Larissa Cleveland PhotographyThis beautiful wedding in Lake Tahoe is filled with special touches! The couple love fly fishing, and managed to weave that theme throughout their wedding in the most elegant way!

They actually fly-fished at cocktail hour in the Martis Camp pond, and had extra reels out for the guests to try their hand as well! The theme was also seen throughout their paper details and signage, as well as handmade fly’s for the guests to take home.

They are just the loveliest couple inside and out. I photographed their secret elopement during the height of the pandemic. It was wonderful to see things come full circle and watch them celebrate with friends and loved ones for the original wedding they’d hoped they’d be able to have someday!

The Sophisticated Splendor of This Arizona Affair Will Leave You Starry-Eyed!

Let’s be honest, it takes a lot for us to feel speechless around here… but this sophisticated Arizona affair planned by Outstanding Occasions has succeeded at just that. The couple wed overlooking a mesmerizing mountainous view and had the ultimate dance party on a stylish checkerboard floor at El Chorro! This day was made even more magical with LUX Wedding Florist’s blooming blush, mauve, and cream arrangements resulting in towering centerpieces and a stately cake display! Elyse Hall perfectly captured the sweet memories and love, get inspired by all the details at the full gallery.

From the Bride… Despite both graduating from the University of Arizona in 2012, it was not until we moved to Manhattan that Zack and I finally met through mutual friends. Zack knew from the get-go that I was the person for him. He tried to woo me with weekly rooftop BBQs (my favorite) and fun nights out – but it took me a bit longer to know we were meant to be. It was at a steeplechase horse race in Far Hills, NJ that I realized I could no longer deny his charm and wit and finally agreed to go on a date.

We went on our first date the very next day, and the rest is history. Three years later, Zack popped the question at the Bel Air Bay Club, my favorite childhood spot with incredible LA beach views. Eager to start looking at venues, we planned a whirlwind weekend that took us from LA to Palm Springs to Arizona. The second we walked into El Chorro, we knew it was perfect. The stunning mountain backdrop and the desert vibes felt like a dream location to tie the knot. Living in New York, we knew we needed help on the ground to make sure everything went smoothly.

The best wedding decision we ever made was to hire Rachel at Outstanding Occasions. We truly would not have been able to navigate our 2020 wedding without Rachel. A month out from our big day, COVID hit. Our planned 1. 5 year engagement turned into 2. 5 years and three wedding dates – but on May 2, 2021, we finally got married!

We kicked the night off with our first dance under the stars to take advantage of the beautiful Arizona nights, and after dinner we moved to the dance party inside. The wait was well worth it, because it was the best day and night of our lives and one we will never forget.

French Chateau Elegance With A Twist of Summer Fantasy

Elegance awaits you at this colorful dream turned into a reality. Charlotte and Adrian’s intimate wedding was nothing short of spectacular. Guests traveled to Santeny, France to celebrate in style at a vibrant garden wedding filled with thoughtful details planned by Dorothée Le Goater Events. The white-walled chateau was the perfect backdrop to the explosion of colorful blooms created to perfection by Kahina Events. Bright pops of cheerful colors fill every moment of this special day, from a fireplace turned into an indoor garden to a dessert display filled with flowers, all of which was carefully curated and designed by the talented team at Kahina Events. The artful images by Celine Chan will have you falling in love with France. Be sure to enjoy all the elegance and sophistication in the full gallery.

From Dorothée Le Goater EventsCharlotte and Adrian’s wedding day was the perfect balance between French classic, modern flair, and a colorful vibe of a spring garden. The vision of this intimate wedding was to immerse guests in the atmosphere of a vibrant spring garden, in the heart of a French chateau.

Garden art is very important in France, so we wanted to put the spotlight on the stunning flowers that we typically find in French gardens in the spring. We purposely chose a white-walled chateau with unique architectural details to showcase a cheerful color palette that sets the tone for the whole day.

From the brightly colored bridal bouquet to the long dining table with its blue tablecloth, every detail highlights a carefully selected choice of flowers. All of this creates a unique and impactful experience for the bride and groom and their guests. Weddings abroad are unique; the decor must reveal this choice.

Neon Signs for Your Nuptials: How to Light Up Your Day

When it comes to wedding details we love the most, signage rises to the top (quite literally, it can hang). And if you’re a particularly creative couple, you can have so much fun coming up with sayings and puns that will make your guests light up. Starting with your unique hashtag and ending with something sweet and sassy to display over your dessert or late-night bites table, your signs build your vibe – and they can keepsake your vows, too! We’ve seen some of our real wedding couples distilling iconic lyrics from their first dance song, and if that can be done, it’s not hard to imagine phraseology from your “I promise” prose being used as a statement photo marquee for your reception.

There are a ton of options for your nuptials signage – from wooden signs to wire ones, cotton-cloth backdrops to calligraphed canvases – but in the past year or two, neon, illuminating iterations have become “I Do” favorites. Not only are they pretty and trendy, they’re also pretty versatile. What you can put up in lights at your wedding, can easily be taken down, packed up, and used in your home for years to come. After all, what at-home bar is truly ready to entertain without a #dontgothirsty or #butfirstdrinks sign??! And L-O-V-E calligraphed in pink can be used in a future baby’s nursery… just sayin!

You can absolutely reach out to the plethora of custom neon businesses for your event needs (especially if you’re leaning into last name personalization), but we can help if you just want some LED to accompany your BDE [best day ever]. All of the neon signs in our Style Me Pretty Collection come with pre-drilled holes or built-in loops for easy hanging, so all you’ll need is a ladder, some fishing line (or tulle ribbon which is always 😍), and just a little bit of labor to put your lewk in place!

Here are just a few vignettes to consider with our signs in mind.
Of course, you’re the designer of your day, so whatever magic you’re after for your own happily ever after – we’re just here to light the way…

‘But First Drinks’ Light Up Sign

If the morning didn’t start with a bridal suite bar topped with a stunning bottle of bubbly, enough coupes for you and the crew, and a little arrangement to set the floral tone for your day, did it even happen?! Did we mention how photogenic our BFD sign really is? It’s pretty perfect, especially for a chic white-on-white color palette.

For all of your bars.

Don’t Go Thirsty Neon Sign

Not that your guests need any heads up on hydrating, but this sign is still a sweet reminder. It’s always nice, too, if you can offer some mocktails alongside your signature cocktail – in case anyone doesn’t want to imbibe on your big day (which is totally cool!). A little pre-ceremony hydration station with infused spa waters is a great look for guests. Same goes for the after party – a little detoxing display of water or some electrolyte-enriched elixirs can go a long way for staving off those post-wedding hangovers…

Neon Pink Love Sign

Love. It’s what brought this day to life, right? So, hang this one above your escort display or mix it in with the fun (our fave kind of facade involves florals). The neon is a great counterpoint to the vignette, plus it draws everyone in. That’s pretty major, too, when you’re considering your guest book. If people don’t know where yours is, they won’t sign it! #TRUESTORY!
