Love Is In Full Bloom At This Bright And Cheerful California Wedding

This bright and cheerful day is sure to make you smile! The bride is admittedly a neutral lover but for her wedding day, she wanted the decor to pop! Cluster Events carefully curated a day with vibrant hues at the forefront, while Posey Pop designed organic floral arrangements so good that guests felt as though they’d wandered into a secret garden. You can feel the love bursting through the beautiful imagery by Birds Of A Feather. You can watch the full day unfold in the full gallery.

About Us/Disability:

From the Bride… We’re an inter-abled couple. My husband, Roque, is a quadriplegic and uses a wheelchair. When looking for wedding inspiration, it was difficult to find couples like us to relate to, so we had to forge our own path in some ways. All love should be celebrated, and disability doesn’t preclude a couple from having their dream wedding.

We met online when I moved from St. Louis to LA for occupational therapy school. I had been learning about spinal cord injuries in school, and when I saw Roque’s picture with his wheelchair he immediately piqued my interest. We quickly got to talking, and 7 years later here we are. Roque proposed on January 1st, 2020, just as the clock struck midnight.

Cultural Fusion:

Our wedding was a unique cultural fusion. Roque comes form a large Mexican family and mine is Jewish. We made a conscious effort to incorporate both cultures into our wedding. We exchanged las arras matrimoniales (Mexican wedding coins) under our chuppah made from my grandfather’s tallis (prayer shawl), had a mariachi band, and danced the hora all in one night.

Music is such a cultural anchor. Because we both come from different cultural backgrounds, we wanted to make sure each of our families felt equally represented by the music that we chose. We had Motown and other oldies that I grew up listening to with my Jewish family, as well as Latin music from around the globe that my husband’s big Mexican family loves. Then of course we had all the early 00’s hits that all of our friends could sing along with. It was an eclectic mix, but somehow the DJ made it all work. The dance floor was filled the ENTIRE night!

Venue/Design:

We got married at Franciscan Gardens in San Juan Capistrano. We used their outdoor courtyard space, which is lined with tall greenery for privacy. It really feels you’re entering a secluded, intimate hidden treasure when you walk in.

When we chose our venue, I immediately knew I wanted sort of a “secret garden” theme. The courtyard enclosed in greenery was the perfect backdrop. To compliment this theme, we had lots of brightly colored blooms made into organic looking arrangements similar to the way wildflowers grow. We also had vines attached to the pergola and entrance to create the feel they’d been there for decades and are part of the landscape. I generally go for neutrals in my everyday life, but I fought the urge to do the same for our wedding. I wanted it to look exciting, approachable, and fun, but sophisticated at the same time.

I chose a sheath dress made from stretch crepe by Theia. I wanted something simple, elegant, and timeless. I tried to avoid anything too trendy, for fear I’d end up changing my mind later.

DIY:

I found myself with a lot of extra time on my hands during the height of Çovid. I used that time to teach myself about woodworking. I set up a small wood shop in our garage, which is where many of our wedding details came to life. All of our signs, a jumbo Four in a Row game, and lots of other details were handmade by me.

DIYs Made by the Bride:
Welcome sign
Escort sign
Unplugged ceremony sign
Specialty cocktail sign with a cocktail named after our dog
“Yarmulkes” sign
“In loving memory” sign
Ceremony programs
Personalized jumbo Four In A Row game with fun facts about us on each of the pieces
Question booklets for each table for guests to fill out
Table numbers
Thank you notes at each place setting

Wedding Highlight:

At one point during the ceremony, our Rabbi had us turn around and look at all the guests that travelled from near and far to celebrate us. The feeling of love in the air from all of our family and friends is still something I’m trying to wrap my head around.

Advice to Future Brides:

It seems easier said than done, but don’t sweat the small stuff! When it comes down to it, nothing else matters on your big day except for you, your partner, and the people who are so excited to watch you shine.

A Waterfront Celebration Planned In 45 Days

Can you create wedding magic in 45 days? If you’re Rebecca Rose Events and a talented team of vendors the answer is an astounding- yes! After the pandemic changed Danielle and Anthony’s plans from a 400 person wedding in Italy to an intimate celebration on the shores of the Chesapeake Bay, the entire planning and design process was started again by scratch. A unique color palette filled with amber, toffee, and cinnamon tones with gold details, natural greenery, and the perfect punch of blue was the perfect complement to the newly chosen scenery. From the looks of the utterly elegant imagery by Corbin Gurkin Photography you would never know the plans for this picture-perfect day had been pulled together so quickly. You can see how it all came together seamlessly in the full gallery.

From Rebecca Rose EventsAfter the pandemic forced Daniella and Anthony to cancel their 400+ guest, 5-day destination wedding in a seaside city in Italy, we had 45 days to reimagine, relocate, plan, design, and produce a more intimate celebration on the shores of the Chesapeake Bay.

Daniella’s fashion inspired the creation and selection of every artistic detail from the graphic design elements to the linen selection, to the fresh vines that adorned the interior of the tent. They honored their Italian heritage with a traditional Catholic ceremony that morning. Additional guests joined the families later in the evening for an alfresco celebration.

Daniella and Anthony blended their Italian culinary preferences with local Maryland cuisine to include a beautiful antipasto spread, four-course plated dinner service, late-night espresso bar, and Italian confetti candies in personalized custom tins for each guest. Daniella and Anthony immediately embraced a unique color palette, and we blended amber, toffee, and cinnamon tones with gold details, natural greenery, and the perfect punch of blue. All these colors danced together so beautifully against the sunset over the water.

Get Inspired By The Sentimental Details of This Couple’s Vintage Yet Modern Nuptials!

We love a vintage touch – especially when mixed with subtle contemporary elements and meaningful DIY details! The couple contrasted the modern feel of their venue, Slate, with Charleston-inspired charm – a city close to the couple’s hearts! They blended the ambiance of two cities with an escort display of vintage St. Louis postcards, an antique cake table, and celebrated their shared love for music with a Taylor Swift quote! The couple captured their romantic day with a photo-booth, florals by Olive And Gene Weddings, all set with props from our Shop – such as our most popular backdrop banner! See all the special and sentimental moments of this day, planned by Olive And Gene Weddings in the full gallery from Sarah Harvey!

From The Bride… I am a fine art film wedding photographer, so I was so excited when my now husband proposed and we could start planning our own wedding day! It was so fun planning our day alongside vendors who are also friends! Our photographer was a bridesmaid and my hair and makeup artist was my maid of honor.

We wanted the design for our wedding to feel very romantic and whimsical with pops of color (slate blue, blush pink, and mauve) and vintage touches. We wanted a more modern venue, so I loved the idea of bringing an organic garden-inspired vision to a more modern setting! I lived in Charleston, South Carolina when we first started dating, so I wanted to include the kind of colorful, vintage charm that has always inspired me in Charleston! We also wanted a modern city feel that represents St Louis. However, we were on a budget.

One of my favorite details was the vintage St Louis postcards we used for the escort card board. We love antique shopping, so this was a great budget-friendly way to include a detail that was also personal to us. We visited antique shops all over St Louis for a year to find vintage cards perfect for each guest. We hand-tied silk ribbon to each postcard and hung it on a board hand-crafted by our now brother-in-law! Guests then got to keep the postcard as a keepsake from the day.

We alternated the cards on the board so that you could see both the beautiful images on the front, and the writing the cards have on the back from the original senders! Some of the cards were over 100 years old.

The table we used for the cake was also a vintage find! We now have the table in our living room. This is now such a special piece that we have in our home, and was a great way to add to the design of our reception while staying on budget!

We kept the guest list very small and intimate. We had 80 guests! This made the day so special, and more budget-friendly.

Instead of hiring a photo booth, we had polaroid cameras complete with a Style Me Pretty backdrop and Style Me Pretty props! We also skipped a DJ and made our own playlists on Spotify. We borrowed disco balls from a local dj company for reception lighting! All of these choices helped with our budget and made for the most fun party!

We included romantic, vintage details throughout the day from our stationary on handmade paper, to our cake with delicate sugar flowers and handwritten calligraphy. We love Taylor Swift, so the quote ‘you and me forevermore’ was a nod to our shared love of music.

We wanted to also include our pets (a cat and dog) so we had custom napkins made with illustrations of them, and I gifted Brian custom cat and dog cuff links on the day to wear with his tux!

We also wanted to include special touches in memory of my grandparents who passed away that year. The necklace I wore was the stone from my grandma’s wedding ring, and I had it set with a chain of hers as well.

Our stationery designer was amazing at working within our budget! She created a full keepsake suite for us to have, and then we mailed out just the invitation and details card to guests. For some of the reception signage, she created the digital designs, and then I printed them myself on handmade paper I bought off of Etsy. This was a great way to make sure everything felt cohesive and was also within our budget!

Our florist (and coordinator!) was also so accommodating to our budget. We went with organic, petite bridesmaid bouquets with snapdragons and blush roses to compliment my bouquet. She created low, organic centerpieces for every other table. For other tables, she used simple florals in bud vases surrounded by candles.

For my gown, I knew I loved Leanne Marshall. I was lucky enough to find one of her beautiful gowns off of the rack after taking a road trip to Bride KC, hoping to find one of her gowns at a discounted price there. I then had the gown altered to better fit me which is why the top is customized!

Overall, we wanted our wedding day really to represent what is special to us vs. leaning on the more traditional side of things! For example, we had tacos served for dinner and margaritas as our signature cocktail! We absolutely love how everything came together, and I feel so lucky to have so many incredible friends as vendors who helped make the day possible!

Limoncello Inspired Italian Wedding Editorial

When life gives you lemons, use them in your wedding decor! This limoncello inspired editorial, at the historical Villa Cetinale in Siena, Italy, has everything from a limoncello table to fresh lemons decorating romantic reception tables. AMV Weddings planned, designed, and styled this spectacular day filled with free flowing organic blooms by Flowers Living. From Jenny Wagner PhotographyThis wedding editorial, set in the autumn in the countryside of Tuscany, features a vibrant couple and fittingly bright and crisp details to suit their style. Lemon trees and a limoncello table, a cake design inspired by porcelain, and a gorgeous vintage getaway car round out a vibrant and romantic wedding design.

The couple enjoyed their ceremony at the back of the historic Villa Cetinale in Siena, Italy, with a ceremony space covered in beautiful florals and greenery.

The bride took a quiet moment to admire her gorgeous reception table, also adorned with intricate greenery and lemon and porcelain details. The couple then shared a few sweet smiles and kisses during a more private moment between just the two of them, in their vintage Italian getaway car.

Beautiful Boho Elegance In Shades Of Neutrals

Kim Newton Weddings brought this bride’s love of neutrals to life in the most beautiful of ways. When the pandemic changed this couple’s original plans to an all outdoor wedding, it was decided to do a tent-style reception like it’s never been done before. Exposed wooden beams and seemingly growing greenery, designed by Love Blooms, combined to create an elevated boho look we can’t get enough of. The love, joy, and style of the day are all perfectly captured in the artful imagery by Photos By Sarah Beth. You can swoon over all the imagery in the full gallery.

From the bride… Tanner and I met at a concert through mutual friends. Some cheesy one-liners, singing, and dancing made for the perfect setup. Fast forward to fall 2019 when we became engaged, we had no idea COVID-19 was around the corner.

After losing my Dad four years ago, though he wasn’t physically there on our wedding day, I felt him all day. My sweet cousin turned one of his ties into my garter and we had his locket wrapped around my bouquet, so he was right there walking me down the aisle with Mom. As Mom and I headed down the aisle and our officiant asked who gives me away, Mom starts to reply “her Father and I”, and a crane flew right above our heads. That was Dad. We then kicked off the reception with a toast of his favorite drink, Tito’s, and celebrated all night with him in our hearts.

We made the call 3 months prior to our wedding to have everything outside out of an abundance of caution. Kim of Kim Newton Weddings called me right away and asked, “do you want to do a tent that has never been done before?!” Between the exposed wooden beams and draped greenery, it truly felt like a fairytale.

A Citrus Colored Summer Wedding in Kansas City

There’s just something about a summer wedding with a citrus color palette. After having to postpone their wedding due to the pandemic, our couple decided rather than passing up on their original design plans- they would pivot! With the help of Rebecca Rose Events they added punchy pops of watermelon to embrace the new summer date, and the result is just as fun and fresh as you would imagine. You can feel the joy and happiness of the day in the incredible imagery by Mike Cassimatis of MNC Photography, head over the full gallery for a sweet taste of summer.

From Rebecca Rose EventsAfter the pandemic pushed the original wedding date to the fourth of July, we decided that instead of leaving the previously chosen color palette and design aesthetic behind, we would enhance it by adding a punch of watermelon to the mix. July is the perfect month for red sweet peas and coral godetia – two cheerful blooms that helped us transform the palette but keep the integrity of the design we began so many months before.

With a few other subtle changes, such as the addition of tray-passed watermelon lemonade at cocktail hour, and lawn games fit for a proper summer shindig, Annie and Chris’ wedding day captured the essence of July in all the right ways.

It was particularly important to Annie and Chris that they include a handwritten thank you note for each and every guest, so we personalized an envelope for each place setting that served as a place card and included a handwritten note on custom stationery. It was a true labor of love for Annie and Chris to finish all of the notes before the wedding day, but their extra efforts added such a heartfelt touch of hospitality for their guests!

Modern Romance Mountain Resort Wedding In Utah

Inspired by both the mountains and the architecture of The Lodge At Blue Sky, this editorial tells the story of modern romance. This tale is set in Utah’s Wasatch Mountain Range, where the design of the lodge and rustic scenery of the mountains were tied together in a carefully curated day planned by Alexa Kay Events. Elevated florals by Intertwined Floral, in bold and beautiful hues, bring the romantic details to life. Every incredible moment is perfectly captured in the imagery by Megan Kay Photography, visit the full gallery for a closer look at all the fun.

From Megan Kay PhotographyWe began our day by getting ready in one of the rooms at The Lodge At Blue Sky. The room offered an abundance of natural light and beautiful views through the windows and on the balcony. Any bride would enjoy getting ready in such a setting.

Both dresses were from Utah based shop, The Perfect Dress. Our groom can be seen in two different tuxes. Don Morphy provided us with a more fashion-forward, textured tux for our scenes surrounding the Lodge and Generation Tux offered us a timeless and classic black tux for our mountainside and ceremony look.

The architecture of the Lodge includes notable lines, symmetry, and a great mix of harsh light and shadows. The property surrounding offers incredible mountainscapes and nature scenes. The sunset over the mountain this evening was one to be remembered. The team did an amazing job pulling everything together.

European-Inspired Garden Wedding At Klentner Ranch

It took two years to bring this wedding vision to life, and the results were totally worth every minute! Set at the incredible Klentner Ranch in Santa Barbara, Tyler Speier Events designed and planned a day filled with European-inspired touches. Lush all-white blooms add to the romance and ethereal aesthetic of the day. Lucky for us, James & Jess Photography
were there to capture every magical moment, you can see all of the artful imagery unfold in the full gallery.

From Tyler Speier EventsBryana and Jad were married at the iconic Klentner Ranch in Santa Barbara, California. Because of the travel restrictions to Europe, we wanted to bring a “European Wedding” to Santa Barbara – and we did just that!

The ceremony took place on the polo lawn overlooking the coast. The arch was created with abundant greenery and Early Gray roses, to give added depth and texture. Bryana’s cathedral-length gown trailed down the stairs – when she and her dad made their entrance as the harpist played, it was simply breathtaking. After the ceremony, guests enjoyed floral-petal-filled cocktails and Mediterranean-inspired bites around the pool.

Guests were then escorted to the tent, where they found their names on a large, modern escort card wall and were greeted by a Belly Dancer, a celebratory nod towards Jad’s Lebanese heritage. The monochromatic design in the tent was so timeless and elegant. From the towering arrangements of hydrangea and roses to the five-tier wedding cake, the crystal chandeliers to the soft draping, the tent was so romantic. Guests enjoyed a Mediterranean-inspired dinner, a lively dance party, and an incredible Santa Barbara sunset.

Old World Elegance In The Heart Of New Orleans

This old-world wedding at the Marigny Opera House is the epitome of romance. The weathered stone of the Opera House is the perfect contrast to bright and beautiful floral designs by Janna Brown Design, in shades of yellow and orange, that will make you fall in love. Faith Roper Photography elegantly captured every detail in artful imagery that is sure to stand the test of time, you can swoon over all the pretty in the full gallery.

From Faith Roper PhotographyOur editorial was set at the Marigny Opera House, a former church designed by French architect Theodore Giraud in 1847. With a palette of slate blue, cream, and gold, the design by Janna Brown Design features contrasting textures.

The delicate lace Monique Lhuillier gown against the weathered stone, marble, and wood of the Opera House is a feast for the eyes. The table design was kept classic and tone-on-tone, with cream and gold plate-ware and abundant florals. Clear ghost chairs ensured that the design could shine against the backdrop of the Opera House.

Gorgeous paper goods with an old-world European feel added touches of blue. Our models posed both inside and outside the Opera House, to capture all the textures and light that the venue offers. A white vintage Bentley was the perfect getaway car!

A Fresh And Fun Take On A Classic Mountain Wedding

Are you ready for a fresh, stylish, and inspired approach to the always romantic mountain wedding? Feast your eyes on this utterly incredible day planned by Calluna Events in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. Cori Cook Floral Design filled the day with fabulous flowers in tones of rust and burnt orange, and Ashley Sawtelle captured the love and happiness of the day to a tee in her perfect pictures. Visit the full gallery for a closer look at all the fun.

From Calluna EventsThis stylish duo was married at Beano’s Cabin nestled atop the hillside of beautiful Beaver Creek Mountain in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. Alongside their doodle, Arnie, who sat adoringly at their feet, these two exchanged emotional vows in an intimate ceremony surrounded by their closest family and friends.

Wedding design details were curated to create a fresh dynamic monochromatic palette featuring terracottas and creamy neutrals, with an exploration into asymmetry and intentional negative space. Paired with a natural slate tabletop and complimenting modern decor, the result achieved a romantic, refined cabin experience that was both welcoming and chic.

At sunset, we were greeted by a very special wedding crasher – a curious fox that ventured down to join wedding guests cocktailing on the lawn. Known as a benevolent spirit, the fox symbolizes both perseverance and patience – an incredible foreshadow for a life of love and partnership to come.

A Family Focused Wedding Inspired By The Colorful Gardens Of Flora Farms

Here’s what happens when your venue is so beautiful that you decide to plan your whole wedding around it! Our bride was inspired by all things Flora Farms, a 25-acre organic working farm tucked in the foothills of the Sierra de la Laguna Mountains. The design aesthetic was natural and organic, with a burst of fun and color, all carefully planned by Lauren Lemke of Amy Abbott Events. Inspired by the produce and flower market display, a cart was created by Pina Cate Design to showcase escort cards sprinkled in flower pots. Every magical moment was perfectly captured in the imagery by Sara Richardson Photography, see it all in the full gallery.

From the bride… We met 12 years ago during the first weeks of high school in San Diego. By senior year we had finally become friends and by chance decided on the same college. Living in the same dorm made us even closer friends, and by 3 months into our freshman year at age 19, we started dating. We’ve been together ever since.

Peyton proposed on a hike in the Santa Barbara mountains, where we would go on most of our first dates and where we fell in love. I started my vows by saying that I don’t remember specifically meeting Peyton all those years ago. Much to my surprise, Peyton started his vows by detailing our first encounter at age 14. I definitely teared up from that first line!

We kept a lot of the table neutral in order to highlight the colorful menu and florals. Everyone was able to use the maracas on each table setting when we made our reception entrance which elevated a big highlight of the day.

These High School Sweethearts Tied The Knot In Their Hometown After 10 Years Together

This wedding of high school sweethearts Sophie Rose and Nicolas Martinez is 10 years in the making! The couple met at Laguna Beach High School and tied the knot a decade later. The special day was seamlessly planned by Katie Webb Brundige at Intertwined Weddings & Events. Karla Flores at Elegant By Design created florals that consisted of a variety of garden and spray roses, ranunculus, white button dahlias and more, with a hint of greenery. The wedding was photographed by the talented, Christine Skari Photography. The bright and crisp images really captured the chic feel of the wedding. See the full day unfold in the full gallery.

From the bride… The outdoor and intimate 50-person September wedding was elegant with timeless decor; hues of white, gold, and light pink. The stunning backdrop of Laguna Beach’s crashing waves and orange ball-of-fire sunset helped to create the perfect ambiance.

The ceremony featured a classic floral arch with angelic white hues. The arch outlined the picturesque backdrop of the light blue pacific ocean. Floral bunches lined the aisle hugging the sides of the rustic wooden chairs. The aisle path was covered in loose white rose petals to give it a cloud-like feel.

The reception was filled with smiles, dancing under the moonlight, and what guests overwhelmingly called the most heartfelt and intimate wedding they had ever been to. The wedding was closed out with a tunnel of lights that the bride and groom walked through and waved goodbye to end the night.

Classic Meets Cool At This Californian Coastal Wedding

The Monterey Penninsula Country Club is a beautiful building with white stucco, a tile roof, interior cream walls, and large wood beams. For this classic meets cool wedding, Lally Events planned a day of epic proportions that transformed the venue into a fairytale filled with candlelight and lush romantic blooms by Revel Floral. Weddings By Scott And Dana captured all of the beautiful moments in their elegant imagery creating memories that will last a lifetime. Head to the full gallery for a closer look at all the fun.

From the couple… Our relationship began almost a decade ago when we were set up on a blind date in college at Santa Clara University. We’ve been stuck like glue ever since and have matured and grown up together since then, residing in San Francisco.

Love Notes Paper helped us create a unique and classic paper suite that played off of the coastal landscape of Pebble Beach. We used soft shades of blue for the paper products and incorporated an iconic Monterey Cypress tree to highlight the location. We included that invite Cypress tree back into the design on guest menus, escort cards, welcome bags, cocktail napkins, and ballcaps for the wedding party.

Revel Floral understood the classic Californian coastal vibe I was going for and knew exactly what to create for the table arrangements, ceremony arch, and dance floor centerpiece. We went into the day with the attitude that the planning is done, the day is set and whatever happens, happens. This attitude kept me calm and allowed me to enjoy every minute of the day.
