A Blush And Gold Garden Wedding Full Of Dainty Details

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]

I always knew that I wanted my wedding colors to be blush and gold, and that’s exactly what we went with. Blush is my most favorite color and Gold is royal and majestic to me. I wanted to feel like a princess on my wedding day and these colors definitely made me feel that way.

[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

The original design was princess fairytale castle wedding. As life would have it, with Covid at its peak the 2020 pandemic shutdown, that quickly fell apart. We had originally booked our wedding at Park Chateau but had to cancel because everything was shutting down and we didn’t know when they would be open again. That ended in us losing our deposit (still breaks my heart) . Then we brainstormed and thought we could still find something that gave castle vibes but outdoors due to covid. That’s when we stumbled on a beautiful rooftop venue in NYC called 620 Loft and Garden. The venue has a gorgeous garden open space with French Trees and a little pond overlooking St. Patrick’s Cathedral on 5th Ave. We were so excited and booked. Our dream Spring-May wedding shortly became a summer wedding in July. That ended up crumbling down as well because NY was the epicenter of Covid, and they had to shut down as well. We did end up getting our deposit back, at least. Finally, in a moment of desperation, we were determined to get married, at least in the year we wanted, by any means necessary. In the midst of this chaos, we were also searching for a home, and that’s when my light bulb clicked. Our friends that are also contractors had a lovely home and a beautiful huge backyard in our hometown where we grew up in. We proposed having our wedding in their yard, and they gracefully said yes. We were elated that we finally had a wedding venue we could work with freely with no rules or shutdown- just somewhere we could celebrate our love with our close friends and immediate family members. We transformed their backyard, with the help of our wedding decorator, into a beautiful, romantic wedding space. It was perfect! As the summer quickly approached, we went from May 26, 2020 as our wedding date to July 24, 2020. July matched up perfectly with our lives as Barry’s birthday is in July, he asked me to be his girlfriend in July, and he proposed to me in July. Even though we ended up not having our caste wedding, our photographer Karina Mekel, took gorgeous photos of us at Ringwood Castle after our wedding reception that will forever be in our memories. The castle grounds are beautiful, and we have so many gorgeous shots around the grounds and with the castle in the background.

[field title=”Proposal Story”]

Barry proposed to me on July 28, 2018, by the Brooklyn Bridge Carousel. He knew I loved that place as I’m a kid at heart. The funny story was I swore when he took me there for the first time on my 30th Birthday he would be proposing that day just because it felt so romantic and special to be there alone with him. I revealed during dinner that night I thought he was popping the question when we had gone there earlier and laughed sweetly and said one day soon, and I wouldn’t see it coming. Time went by, two years to be exact, but he never forgot that I thought he would propose there out of all places. He made sure when he was ready that he asked me to marry him there. The next time we were there, he told me were going to a rooftop pool party in the city, but first having lunch with friends. When we arrived, he parked within the area, but I couldn’t see the Brooklyn Bridge and had no idea we were there. As we kept walking, we met up with our friends and talked. Then our friends told us they would be right back because they were going to take photos. I felt like something was funny about that but I went along with it. I kept asking “But where are we eating? What restaurant are we going to I’m soo confused” (lol) we walked for a little, and Barry asked me if I knew where we were and then I saw the carousel and I said yes. Walked closer to the water and front and he asked me “Do you remember that you thought I was going to propose to you here on your birthday?’ and I responded yeah… then he went on to say “It’s happening right now.” I immediately bursted out in tears crying hysterically. He got down on one knee, and I was just shaking; my hand was shaking. Then he asked me to marry him, and I said yes. (it’s all a blur) because I was just shaking, and he laughed and said I’m trying to put the ring on, but your shaking and we both laughed. Come to think of it.. imagine if the ring would’ve fallen into the water, thank God it didn’t lol. Our friends came and joined us after to celebrate. We took photos, really went to the rooftop party, and celebrated into the night. It was a magical day. When Barry proposed to me and I saw the ring he had chosen for me, I was at a loss for words. He knew the ring I always dreamed of was a radiant cut with a halo and diamonds all around the band and that’s what he got me. I kept asking is this ring real? Is it really for me? I just couldn’t believe it. He really went above and beyond for the proposal.

I purchased my dress from Bridal Reflections on 5th Ave in NY. I didn’t do much wedding shopping as I knew in my mind my dress had to be from there because this was the “IT” place. I went in there knowing exactly which three styles I wanted to try on and of course my dream dress that I couldn’t afford. After trying on the styles I thought I would love, I just wasn’t happy. My consultant Leandra was an angel she just understood me from the very beginning. She said I know exactly what you want and it will be in your budget. She invited me to the Eve Of Milady trunk show, and when I saw my dress on the runway, my cousin/best friend and I just looked at each other because we already knew that’s exactly what I wanted. We decided to move forward after the show. The designer was so sweet as well. I went on to try my dream dress in person to triple make sure, and the rest is history. There was nothing to think about- that was my dress. My dress had gorgeous beading with Swarovski crystals throughout. The pattern and color on it were simply stunning.

[/field]
[field title=”Bridesmaid Dresses”]

The bridesmaids’ dresses were blush and from Camille USA in Secaucus, NJ. I didn’t want my girls to spend a lot of money on a dress but I still wanted them to wear my dream color, blush. The dresses were simple but elegant and flattering to any body style.

Our decorator was Wedding Kiss Decor. Ebia also provided the florals for the ceremony/reception aside from décor. The wedding bouquets and bouteniers were done by Eves Garden Floral Design. The bouquets had browns, pinks, whites, and lots of greenery- perfect for a romantic summer wedding.

[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]

The wedding cake was simple but elegant, and my close friend gifted it to me because she does custom cakes. She also did the cupcakes and boxed them individually so that everyone could take one home as a souvenir. The cake was simple vanilla with buttercream frosting and real strawberries inside.

[/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]We had my aunt officiate the wedding as her and her husband are pastors at their church.
For ceremony music I walked down the aisle out to the instrumental of “A Thousand Years”.
The wedding party walked down the aisle to “The Reason” by Calum Scott”
When the ceremony exit music was “Electricity” by Dua Lipa

Our first dance song was “Unchained Melody” by the Righteous Brothers
Daughter/Father dance song was “I loved her first” by Heartland
Son/mother dance song was “A song for Mama” by Boyz II Men
[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]Having a first look with my dad, such a special and intimate moment with my dad. I went traditional and my husband didn’t see me until I walked down the aisle for the first time.
[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]We had butterflies released during our ceremony, I always wanted to do this. Magical is all I can say and some of them were on my dress.[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #3″]We decided not to have our dogs in the ceremony but I got to take pictures getting ready with them before the ceremony.

Oscar De La Renta’s Viral ”Fern” Gown Steals the Show at This Garden Inspired Wedding

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]Neutrals, greens, and hints of gold, with a colorful mix of Spring florals[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]We wanted a true garden inspired Spring wedding in a place that was special and meaningful to the couple. . As kids, both Mary Grayson and Russell spent their summers on Lake Martin with their respective families, so when it was time to pick a wedding location, Lake Martin was number one on the list. SpringHouse and The Stables at Russell Lands provided a stunning backdrop to their lovely day. Planned by Lauren Phillips of Whitney Bowman Events, the vision came to life with the help of an incredible vendor team.[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]About a year after they met, Russell asked Mary Grayson out on their first date – right before the Pandemic hit. Since they lived down the street from each other and everything was on lock down, they spent a lot of time together during those months! It didn’t take long for them to make it “official.” About a year later Russell proposed. He knew Mary Grayson wouldn’t like something over-the-top, so he kept it simple. One evening, after returning from teaching yoga, Russell got down on one knee and asked Mary Grayson to spend the rest of her life with him. Of course she said yes! [/field]

Mary Grayson, Lauren and their mother made their way to Mandi Jackson Bridal in Atlanta and fell in love with the very first gown she tried on – a beautiful Oscar de la Renta. Entitled “Fern,” the dress features cut out lace fern embroidery, a chapel length train and sweetheart neckline. Mary Grayson stunned in the hi-low dress, with a natural and effortless hair and makeup look by the lovely Claire Balest team.[/field]

Southern style grits were also served as an ode to the brides Grandmother.

Guests danced the night away on the dance floor while enjoying a late night snack of cookies and milk and dill pickle chips, favorite snacks of the Bride and Groom.[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]The floral team, Colby West Design, lined the ceremony aisles with his signature organic and free-flowing blooms. He and his team foraged through the local woods of Lake Martin to find the prefect greenery to add to the lush ceremony arch. Following the ceremony, guests walked over to enjoy a delicious dinner inside and on the lawn of SpringHouse. Colorful spring blooms with neutral linens, copper chargers, and bone flatware greeted the guests as they found their tables. The linens were provided by LaTovola, including the custom linen for the custom 14 foot round Head Table built for the event. Loly of Little Postage House, who designed all of the paper goods, created luxurious letterpressed menus with custom wax seals atop each place setting.

[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]With the brides bother-in-law officiating, the ceremony took place atop a hill next to Springhouse, offering a scenic view. The wedding party consisted of the bride and groom’s siblings and nieces and nephews. Mary Grayson walked down the aisle to The Young Fables playing an instrumental rendition of the Elvis’ classic “Can’t Help Falling In Love.” The nephews of the groom read passages from the New Testament. [/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]After dinner, guests hopped in golf carts and made their way down to the tented reception next to the horse stables. There wasn’t a dry eye in the room as the Father of the Bride toasted the newly married couple as well as Cleveland, the bride’s beloved yellow lab, who suddenly passed away a week or so before the wedding. Mary Grayson was grateful to have a little nod to Cleveland with linen napkins and stir sticks featuring watercolor portraits of her pets.[/field]

An Elegant And Chic Modern Garden-Inspired Anderson House Wedding

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]

The wedding colors were white and black.

[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

Melissa & Michael tied the knot on a beautiful Sunday in October at Washington DC’s Anderson House, a Gilded Age mansion turned society club full of fine architecture, a breathtaking garden, and an ornate ballroom with a history of over a century of hosting lavish soirees. Anderson House’s Beaux-Arts style facade proved to be a perfect backdrop for this classic and modern black tie affair. The couple wanted to keep their wedding design monochromatic with romantic neutrals paired with soft but bold florals for a timelessly elegant setting for their big day. The bride chose to complement the venue’s historic charm by including delicate details like votives and tapered candles of a variety of heights, poofs of baby’s breath floating everywhere from the ceremony arch to the bar and the staircase, and bistro lights to drape the pond in the garden. She reflected the sparkle from the glimmering ballroom chandeliers at dinner by pairing fluted glassware with silver and velvet gray textured tablecloths. With a flair for keeping things chic, Melissa and Michael opted for a garden ceremony, an al fresco dinner under twinkling lights, and a ballroom reception where they danced the night away with their closest friends and family. They were surrounded with love at every moment of their perfect happily ever after.

Textural Elegance at Stanly Ranch

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]

The wedding colors were soft spring greens, cream, white, taupe, mauve and lavender, blush.

[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

The overall vision for the celebration at Stanly Ranch Napa was to enhance what Stanly already has in place. They have both modern structure and organic flow in their designs. The natural elements were captured in small vignettes as well as in the larger-scale installations for the ceremony and above the stage. Incorporating the clean and modern lines of the venue, contemporary design elements were added throughout the decor. We started with our lightest elements at the ceremony and transitioned to our more moody, formal textures and colors at the reception.

[field title=”Proposal Story”]

Mimi and Steve both worked at the same company, so one day, feeling confident, Steve approached Mimi at an office happy hour and introduced himself. However, not wanting to jeopardize their careers, Mimi and Steve opted for the classic “just friends” title. That quickly turned into “best friends.” Mimi and Steve found themselves talking constantly, cheering each other on at work, and sneaking away to Local Edition, a favorite spot. Steve gave Mimi lessons on Bay Area sports (Go Warriors!), and they both shared their love of wine and celebrations with family and friends. Mimi and Steve became an inseparable pair and made their relationship official in July 2018. Over the course of 3 1/2 years, life included gatherings with friends and family, getaway trips around the world, and pounds and pounds of Italian food consumed and wine enjoyed. Steve and Mimi knew they wanted to commit their lives to each other forever. With that, Steve secretly arranged his proposal to Mimi at their favorite Napa Valley winery, Saintsbury. On February 25th, amidst the backdrop of a beautiful vineyard, Steve and Mimi became engaged. This was a day they would hold in their hearts forever.

Stanly Ranch Napa has amazing food and wine that was highlighted throughout the wedding. Steve’s Italian background was the foundation on which the menu was built. Appetizers included focaccia with castelvetrano olives, preserved tomato, and olive oil. They also started everyone with a house-made Caesar that included crispy pancetta and brioche croutons; for the entrees, guests chose either a Hawaiian Themed Grilled Mahi Mahi with coconut sticky rice or Beef Tenderloin with Yukon Potatoes and horseradish. Local wines flowed all night, including some from the winery where they were engaged, Saintsbury. Also, the signature drinks, Mimi’s skinny Margarita and Steve’s Old Fashioned, were a hit.

[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]

Our goal with the florals was to tell a light-to-dark color story with cohesive design futures tying it all together. The large arbor piece by Vignette really started the wedding off with a classic but modern white and green backdrop. After heading to the cocktail hour, guests had the option to relax at a few lounges by Found Rental Co. or head to the wood and black double bar. The bar was key in transitioning the event from light/day to darker evening colors. Once inside for dinner the chic, clean table and chairs from Found Rental Co were in perfect contrast with the Vignette Floral Design really captured what we were going for. Theoni’s tabletop helped bring out the color we wanted in the florals as well. Finally, the band was highlighted with a structure from The Vessel Rental Co that created the perfect frame with all the color and texture.

[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]One of the first things Mimi mentioned about her wedding was that she wanted to recreate the cake of her parents wedding. Mimi lost her mom a few years ago and thought this would be the perfect way to bring her mother into the planning and as a feature on her wedding day. Using an old photo as reference Ora Beth of Flour and Bloom recreated the 4 tier cake, bringing the 80’s style into 2023. The cake was the same flavor as it was for her parents: champagne with strawberries. She even took the same photo as her mom with her dad and grandpa kissing each cheek after the cake was cut![/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]Mimi and Steve both had close members of their family pass away in the past few years with Mimi losing her mother and Steve losing his brother. They were both remembered during the ceremony and mentioned throughout the evening. [/field]

From the planners of Poppi Company: “When Marisa reached out to us about her wedding style and design, she spoke about how she envisioned her wedding with such passion and excitement, it naturally fueled our creativity, and we got right to work. We immediately fell in love with the unique and personal ‘hunting of the hounds’ styled wedding, which incorporated rich details of hunter green and maroon with dark stained wooden pieces that were complimented by antique accents. The wedding was held on Marisa’s grandparents, private estate. Their beautiful brick home was the perfect location for getting ready photos, and the ceremony overlooked the pond on the property. The guests enjoyed a cocktail hour under the tall oak trees, and the evening ended under a sailcloth tent in the yard.” From the bride: “The overall goal of our wedding was to just really make it feel like “us” – perfectly combining romantic style with rustic/hunt club accents to play homage to Tad as well (he grew up duck hunting at this house/property).”

[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]From the bride: “It became somewhat of a tradition for Tad and I to go for an evening walk at the farm he was living on at the time with our dogs, Bauer and Todd. Though simple, it was our time to catch up after a long day and get some quality time together. As we were nearing the end of one of our evening walks, it came as a huge surprise to me to see Tad getting down on one knee and asking me to marry him. After a moment of disbelief, I said “yes!!”. It was exactly the proposal I had hoped for, just us and the dogs spending time on the farm![/field]

We wanted something fitting for fall, but different than your normal fall sangria or old fashioned so we went with an Apply Cider Whiskey smash, which everyone also loved!!!”[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]

From the bride: “Having previously worked for a wedding florist, I went into wedding planning pretty much knowing what I wanted for florals, and I knew Kate Campell was just the person for the job. I wanted romantic and elegant yet slightly whimsical and she completely brought that vision to life! , I wanted to incorporate dried hydrangeas which bring a beautiful tan/beige color to the palette. Other flowers in my must-haves were butterfly ranunculus, chocolate cosmos, beautiful blush dahlias, and natural grasses to tie in the waterfront foliage. Kate surprised me by incorporating gorgeous baskets at the aisle entrance which added the most perfect touch! My vision for the décor of the wedding was to make it feel like we were bringing the inside out with a hunt club-inspired twist! From the beautiful vintage pieces featured at the reception lounge to our own antique dresser that we used as the guestbook table and the various DIYs that my Dad and I tackled over the summer. We had so much fun creating bars, wooden lanterns, and custom cowhide ottoman! It’s so special to look back and see how many personal touches were included. The girls from Poppi Company did an amazing job bringing my whole vision together!”

Glove Rentals covered the front yard of the privately owned
historic Rumsey Island Mansion that laid alongside a calm flowing
river which reflected the suns natural light onto the uniquely
handcrafted florals that accentuated the ceremony space. Florist,
Kate Campbell created a ground arch with dried hydrangeas,
roses, dahlias, and natural grasses to compliment the view. Floral

Refined Romance at Château de Tourreau in Spring

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]The wedding is in pastel and soft colors.

White, peach, sand, green.

A beautiful harmony of colors, always in a spring spirit.[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]The newlyweds wanted a spring design, elegant and romantic while being refined. the castle of Tourreau is one of the most magical places in Provence and it itself imposes a beautiful atmosphere.

This is particularly found on the secular ceremony with beautiful floral touches and a provided arch. It was made in the park of the castle.

On the side of the meal, it was made under a starry sky in front of the castle and the tables were arranged to form a square surrounding the dance floor. The overall atmosphere is intimate and romantic.
We find on the tables a floral decoration in the same tones as the ceremony with mainly roses and gypsophila. The cutlery is gilded and matches the edges of the glasses. The menu is placed in the center of the plate on a linen napkin.[/field]

Here’s the Complete List of Items to Include on Your Wedding Website!

The moment you announce your wedding, you quickly realize that you’re not just a bride or groom—you’re the host of the biggest party of your life. As you send out save-the-dates, invitations, and welcome bags, these gestures make your guests feel included and foster a sense of anticipation. Each little wedding reminder should communicate that this is going to be a beautiful experience. But have you considered the role your wedding website plays in your guests’ experience? After all, your site may be one of the very first wedding-related things that your guests see. You’ll want to make sure that the site you create is practical and informative, and also beautiful and compelling; a natural extension of your overall wedding design. That’s why we’re here to address everything you need to craft the perfect site—from the information you can’t skip to pretty, polished touches that will send your site over-the-top. Read on for our best tips!

1. Find a gorgeous template

Your dream wedding website begins with a beautiful template, and thankfully, it’s never been easier to find one. Below, are some of our favorite sites, and the offerings that make them truly special:

  • Squarespace is ideal for the design-savvy set. If beauty matters most—and you’re willing to sacrifice a little bit of functionality—you will find your perfect fit in Squarespace’s designs. Virtually every feature on every Squarespace site is customizable, so you can create a truly bespoke site. And, if you love beautiful imagery as much as we do, you’ll be all over Squarespace’s gallery options. You won’t get a ton of wedding planning- specific tools, and the registry aspect isn’t completely intuitive. But if you’ve built a website before, you’ll find Squarespace templates approachable and beautiful.
  • Riley & Grey– Aleah and Nick Valley of Valley & Company Events recommend Riley & Grey for their “beautifully designed, easy-to-create websites that are layered and allow for easy [setup] with a polished and cohesive look,” And it’s true: the site offers perhaps the most aesthetically beautiful templates on the market. Because Riley & Grey is dedicated exclusively to weddings, everything has been designed with your event in mind—it’s a bit more of tailored experience than Squarespace. We love the playful ‘mad libs style’ RSVP’s that you can customize to match your event style and personal voice. From there, you can take reception song requests, meal orders, allergy info, and more guest messages. As well, Riley & Grey’s guest management system is super sophisticated and helps you approach delicate topics—like + 1 permission—in a clear-cut way. Overall, it’s a beautiful, high class wedding website that takes wedding etiquette and guest experience into consideration.
  •  MintedA design marketplace that sources and sells work by independent artists, Minted is the perfect choice for artists and art-lovers. An early adopter of crowdsourcing, Minted hosts monthly design challenges, which are open for both submissions and voting, and chooses the most highly-rated and beloved products. As expected, their wedding templates are thoughtful and artistic. Because the focus is all about showcasing the work of independent artists, the sites aren’t very customizable (so if you’re a designer in your own right, go with Squarespace). That said, the templates are very well done; it’s easy to see why Francesca of Pure Luxe Bride calls Minted one of her favorites, adding that it is “easy to navigate and beautiful!” Like Riley & Grey, Minted is famous for offering coordinating invitations, and it’s easy to shop your style and find the perfect design.
  • Joyis a great site for brides and grooms who are after simplicity and ease. The downloadable Joy App is totally free, and the sites offer a decent amount of customization options. What makes Joy special is that it’s designed with your guests in mind; when they download the app, they’ll be able to share photos, stay up-to-date with wedding notifications, and hail an Uber or Lyft straight from the app. Joy doesn’t offer a huge variety of in-house planning options—you can’t, for instance, manage multiple events and RSVP’s (so if you’re throwing a welcome party or rehearsal dinner, you’ll need to handle that separately). You’ll also need to manually upload your registry, which can be one of the more challenging aspects of site-building. But if you are after the basics, Joy masters them all.
  • Zolais a luxe registry builder that also offers free templates and wedding planning tools and multiple-event RSVP’s. Zola is really all about curating the perfect registry— if beautiful gifts are your love language, then this is the site for you. Many users note that the selections tend to be on the higher-end side, so take into account your event and registry needs before signing on.

2. Design a simple URL

For your URL, a combination of your first names usually works the very best. “While we love a creative name, we recommend keeping it simple so it’s easy for guests to remember on the fly should they need to look something up,” suggests Francesca of Pure Luxe Bride. If your wedding hashtag is one for the ages, then go for it. Otherwise, make your website URL about you and your fiancé— it’s the simplest choice, and a timeless one.

3.  Create a compelling home page

First impressions matter and, as with any website, you have just a flicker of time—maybe a couple of seconds– to capture your viewers’ attention. If you’re going to make any page perfect, it has to be your home page. For maximum impact, focus on beautiful imagery. Pick the most gorgeous photo from your engagement session—you know, the one that someone would look and immediately pin to an inspiration board. Keep the rest of the details very, very minimal; you want your guests to receive maximum emotion with minimal effort. Aleah and Nick Valley of Valley & Company Events beautifully articulate the essential ingredients for any home page: “One captivating image, whether it’s an illustration of the scenery at the wedding location or a high res engagement photo of the couple, will set the tone for the website.” When designing your site, they add, “think about the kind of websites or blogs that you’re drawn to—are they clean and light, busy and colorful? Think about how easy the home page should be to read—it can act as the landing and welcome page that directs guests where to go, so something catchy that says who, when, where is a great start.”

Francesca of Pure Luxe Bride agrees adding that the key words for any home page are “clean and simple” and the key ingredients are “a photo from the engagement session, wedding date, and location.” Remember when Prince William and Kate Middleton released that one gorgeous engagement photo the day prior to their wedding, and everybody just went, ohhhhh? Find that image—that iconic image– and build everything else around it.

4.   Practical info

Remember that you are the host of this experience, and your wedding is your chance to guide your guests and furnish them with all the information they need. Be sure to include a detailed itinerary, address, and directions to your venue. Don’t leave any stone unturned—make sure your guests have every single detail in one place. “In today’s digital world,” states Aleah and Nick Valley of Valley & Company Events, “everything pertinent to the wedding should live on the website. A tab for travel/accommodations/shuttling, where to eat and what to do nearby the wedding, and a very detailed itinerary of the weekend’s festivities is pertinent. We also recommend listing attire suggestions and helpful tips for what to pack so guests know what to expect.” We love their idea of working with an artist to make some of these details more playful and chic: “For websites, we have commissioned illustrators to sketch out attire examples for cheeky pre- and post-parties, and to give guests a little glimpse into the big day.”

It’s important, however, to remember that your site can’t be your sole method of communicating event details. “Do keep in mind that non-tech guests may still need a paper version of this,” suggest Nick and Aleah, who “love sending out pre-wedding newsletters about three weeks before a wedding that recaps much of what’s happening.” That way, the “details [are] nice and fresh.”

5.  Hotel Accommodations

Have you ever stayed at a luxury short-term rental space or boutique hotel? (Or at least, have you seen a design show featuring one?). You know what we’re talking about: the kind that’s designed to the hilt, and designed for a beautiful experience. It’s the kind of place where you walk into a bedroom with two cashmere spa robes folded at the end of the bed, along with a sprig of flora, a welcome note, and two bars of dark chocolate. The kind with a fridge stocked with water (still, sparkling, and ultra-fizzy), champagne, and nothing else. There’s a gorgeous view and a lounge room with a discreetly printed guide of things to do in the city. It’s not just a pretty space—it’s a space that’s been designed with you in mind.

The analogy can be easily applied to a wedding weekend, because a wedding provides an opportunity to be a gracious host. To not only welcome your guests, but anticipate their needs. To make them feel seen and recognized through even the tiniest gestures. To offer them a sense of luxury, spaciousness, beauty, and retreat. It may sound over-the-top, but by anticipating their needs on your wedding website, you’re already taking the initiative and making the experience easier. You really want to take your guests by the hand and show them a wonderful time, and that begins with recommending the finest places for them to stay.

Highlight boutique hotels and historic stays. Include a luxury option and a tasteful budget option. Give them the insider’s access—this hotel is famous for its rooftop bar and Hotel Costes vibe; this villa is within walking distance of the best shops, and this lodge has a spa that you won’t believe. If you have special memories of a certain hotel, a charming anecdote is nice—at Christmastime, we would visit this hotel, where we ate warm gingerbread and watched the snow fall outside the lobby window.

6.  A guide to the city

Of all the ways to personalize your site, our favorite by far is including a couple’s guide to your city. Dazzle your guests with a list of all the best places to shop, dine, and take in art and culture. If your destination wedding site abounds with natural beauty, then cover the best botanic gardens, nature trails, and lookout points. If your city offers incredible art museums, point your guests to these (and tell them where to find your favorite piece of artwork). And of course, don’t forget a restaurant guide with both options for fine dining and experience-driven food. As always, you shouldn’t feel the need to impress your guests; simply write from the heart and include the places that are personal and meaningful to you. “We love it when our couples recommend their favorite haunts—think about it from your guest experience and share the most casual of places (like your favorite coffee or cookie shop) to your favorite restaurant or museum where you had your first date. Sharing a little story about each place will entice guests to want to visit!” enthuse Aleah and Nick Valley of Valley & Company Events. You’ll take extra great care of your guests when you “list any suggested attire if it’s a more formal restaurant” or encourage them “to dress in comfy clothes for touring around the city or for hiking.”

When it comes to creating these guides, Francesca of Pure Luxe Bride believes that the more personal, the better. “We always recommend that the couple list a few of their favorite places to make it more personal,” suggests Francesca, “for example, ‘Make sure to stop by the OAR for a the mudslide, it’s the bride’s favorite!’” While Francesca agrees that you should “100% [include] places to dine, shop, and cocktail,” she also recommends pointing out “local transportation companies as well as hair and makeup studios for the ladies.” These personal touches will make your site fun and readable—and make your guests feel welcomed.

7.  Insider travel tips

As a thoughtful host, you’ll want to consider your guests’ experience from every possible angle—from the moment they touch down to that last cute breakfast or brunch before returning home. Aleah and Nick Valley of Valley & Company Events have the most thoughtful advice for brides and grooms as they compose their travel section:

“Think about travel from the guest experience—when you land at your airport, what’s the best easy access to grabbing an Uber or arranging for a car service? Be excited and encouraging when listing travel tips, but also be sure to give guests honest feedback, like avoiding a certain area during a football game, or staying clear of a not-so-friendly part of town after dark.” Everyone loves insider tips, especially when they’re shared from a place of love and thoughtfulness.

8.  A gorgeous (and well edited) gallery

We know your favorite part of any website is a gorgeous gallery—and we’re right there with you! Now is the chance to unveil all of those beautiful engagement photos. As you do so, present your love story in the most fun, sexy, romantic way possible.

When editing your gallery, again, try to go more SMP than high school yearbook. We love a cute early dating photo, but one is probably enough. Channel your inner blogger or fashion editor, and edit your gallery to include only the standouts from your engagement session. Highlight the photos that capture emotion—tender looks, tearful embraces, his hand through your hair, a mountaintop kiss. Make your photo choices count by including only the most epic and gorgeous images. Try not to overburden your viewers with too much content—give the people what they want (beautiful photos) but always leave them wanting more.

Photography: Sandra Fazzino

9.  The story of how you met

Consider an ‘Our Story’ tab with a beautiful photo and a brief story of how you met. If you do, though, know that a paragraph or two is best. “The engagement [story] is always nice, but keep it brief!” recommends Francesca of Pure Luxe Bride. Sometimes, it can be equally compelling to speak about why you love the place you’re marrying—especially if that place is interwoven with your love story. Francesca agrees: “if it’s a destination, [writing about] why they love the city they chose is always nice!” Reminisce a little about the trip to Tuscany, the golden hours and the life-changing pizza, or reflect on that romantic trip to Greece, and the little white chapel that stole your heart.

10.  Your favorite page in your favorite magazine

If you’re anything like us, you always turn to the last page of Vanity Fair first to read the Proust Questionnaire. Or maybe, when you see your favorite fashion mag, you immediately flip to the “What’s in My Handbag” article. Everyone loves a playful interview and a sprinkling of fun facts, so it’s a great idea to include a Q&A or other fun page on your wedding website. We adore Aleah and Nick’s advice for creating a personalized page:

“Fun facts are always a cute way for couples to share their story, especially if many of their guests don’t know each other. It provides a common thread to the wedding. Think about including a Did You Know? page on the site that talks about you both individually—like where each grew up, and fun tidbits about the relationship and how it’s grown.” As always, keep your personal voice in it and just write the kind of content you would personally love to read!

11.  A registry

The registry should generally be the last tab on your site, and it should be placed there discreetly. There’s always a way to be tactful about the registry, says Francesca of Pure Luxe Bride, who suggests that brides and grooms “have [the registry] as a tab or page but don’t point it out—guests will look there if they are interested.” If you prefer that guests donate to a Honeyfund or favorite charity, then kindly let them know that their presence is gift enough, but you would love it if they would consider supporting your cause.

When it comes to the technical part of uploading your registry, you may need to put forth a little more effort depending on the template you’ve chosen. Sites like Zola will make this seamless for you; others may require you to manually upload logos and links, which takes a bit more time and tech savvy. Luckily, sites like Squarespace have amazing tutorials on virtually every aspect of customization, as well as help pages where you can chat with tech experts (and easily resolve a page crisis in a matter of minutes). You’ve got this!

Photography: Sally Pinera

12. The bridal party

We generally don’t think that you have to channel The Brady Bunch intro and include your entire wedding party and a bio of how you met. Visually, it can be distracting to upload tons of (usually) low res images that have all been taken from different places. BUT we always appreciate the sentiment and recognize that these are the friends who have walked with you through all stages of life, and your desire to recognize them is sweet. Nick & Aleah acknowledge that having a separate bridal party tab is “a nice nod to the nearest and dearest friends and family” and adds that “it can be a great ice breaker and a way for the guests to feel connected to the wedding party.” In most circumstances, listing their names will be enough, but if you want to go the extra mile and include photos, we always want you to do you!

Photography: Oliver Fly Photography

13. Professional videography

If you’ve been lucky enough to work with a videographer for your engagement session, by all means, include that gorgeous film! It’s perfect as stand-alone content for the home page. Your viewers will be enamored as they watch your love set to music, unfolding in such a sweeping, cinematic way. A film does all the talking for you. It’s very likely that you’ve just budgeted this service for the wedding day, but if you’ve been fortunate enough to have an earlier professional film session, use it to tell your love story. Nothing is quite as emotional or moving—quite as able to capture love– as a well-done film.

Photography: Sotoris Tsakanikas

14.  Keep it short and sweet

When asked what makes a wedding website truly successful, Aleah and Nick Valley of Valley & Company Events say that two things are key: beauty and brevity.

“The best wedding websites are ones that feel fun and polished, and are also clean and edited and easy to navigate. We love photos of our couples and photos of the landscape around the wedding. And, [we] have years of feedback [that tells us] while guests love to see photos and read stories, they find sites the most useful when they’re short and sweet. Be thoughtful with details and share an abundance of information, but perhaps think about keeping your restaurant or park recommendations to a sentence of two, unless it stems from a really sweet story.” Guests will so appreciate you only leaving them with the very best and sweetest information!

15.  Stay true to yourself

When it comes to your wedding website, the most important thing is that you write and share photos in the way that feels right and true to you as a couple. Don’t worry about perfectly abiding by our rules or trying to make your site fashionable and impressive. Just sincerely share your love story and your excitement– we promise there’s nothing simple about it. Jenn Sanchez Design created a beautiful floral design from the ceremony chuppah to the reception. The aisle pieces had a grassy element with queen annes lace- airy swathes of texture combined with focal statement delphiniums. For the dinner reception, she kept the floral colors ivory, white, and neutral tones. She incorporated textures with minimal addition of a chocolate-hued flower like cosmos and scabiosa.

[field title=”Wedding Cake”]Simple buttercream three tiered cake dressed in chocolate cosmo florals cascading to one side.[/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]The wedding was a union between a Catholic bride (Carmela) & Jewish groom (Goose/aka Nathaniel). It was important to them to blend both traditions during the ceremony – which was co-officiated with a Rabbi & Priest. Although their ceremony was traditional, florals & event design were modern & contemporary, like Carmela & Goose.

Emblem Floral Design Studio kept the florals in a clean cream color with natural blue hues to tie into our oceana theme. Emmanuelle’s bouquet featured a natural, romantic, loose aesthetic using seasonal blooms in the wedding color palette. From sweet peas, garden roses, white clematis, ranunculus, blue nigella, and blue delphinium, pale blue iris, tied with a clean silk ribbon wrap. For the ceremony, we didn’t want to obstruct the views of the beach and ocean, so we decided to have a floor floral arch and ghost chairs. For the dinner tables, we wanted to incorporate the cream florals with white ceramic vases dressed in a clean ivory velvet linen and accented with menus in handmade paper with silver foiling and guests’ names calligraphed on sea glass.

Our inspiration for the cake was it to have a Coral Reef and Oceana movement.

Sofia definitely wanted a modern fairytale-inspired wedding. She has worked as a model for luxury brands such as Chanel and Dior. Elegance and refinement were keywords when it came to creating the design.

[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]Sofia left her appartment at Place Vendôme Paris and they moved in
together in West-London after a few months of dating, where they have been
living now for almost 4 years.

Time for Jan to propose in Paris, the city of love and the favorite place
to be for Sofia. On a warm October night last year after a splendid dinner at
Monsieur Blue with view on the Eiffel Tower, Jan proposed surprisingly on a
night walk along the Seine with the Eiffel Tower midnight lights on the

[field title=”Special Detail #1″]

Sofia and Jan met for the first time in the Gym in 2018 in London, where they both went to have the perfect spirit in the perfect body…And even without his glasses on, Jan saw Sofia’s beautiful blue eyes in a gorgeous silhouette looking at him in the gym room… Sharing the elevator which leads them to the changing room, they discover they both come from the same country, Belgium and even more, the region of Antwerp. This cannot be a coincidence!

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]Sofia was born at the Russian border in Ukraine, and arrived in Antwerp
after her parents fled the war at the end of the year 2000 and settled there
to give their children a chance to grow up in peace. Jan’s family originally
comes from the Antwerp area.

When they first met, Sofia worked as a model in London, but still lived in
Paris and Jan worked already a few years in the financial district of London.

On their first date in the restaurant, while waiting for their main course,
Sofia is so nervous she pours so much salt on her bread and butter, that Jan
warns her against the risk of a heart attack![/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #3″]They adore their lives in London, walking their beloved dog Mila in the
parks, having a nice dinner in one of London’s famous restaurants and the
new project after the wedding is finishing to restore their new home in West
London. And of course starting a new chapter in their lives.[/field]

An Elegant Affair With a Disco Twist at Fearrington Village

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]With a Classic White and Black color scheme with greens and whites in our florals to make things pop, the design fit perfectly in with the setting of the Fearrington. On the day of, our ceremony was set just outside of the beautiful gardens and allowed our guests a chance to mingle among the flowers.[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]For our wedding, we were really looking for something that was classic, elegant, timeless, and overall FUN! After touring 9 venues in the area, Fearrington felt just right– it felt like we were transported to a beautiful vacation spot, just a short drive from home in Raleigh. Fearrington has the most breathtaking grounds and areas to explore and we were delighted to give our guests a chance to experience that through our wedding. To bring our vision to life, we enlisted the help of our great Planner/Designer Cheryl-Anne of Kast Events. She and her team executed our vision above and beyond what we could have expected.
Guests arrived at the ceremony space and were greeted with Prosecco courtesy of Vita Mielie and were entertained by a Guitar and Violin duo from Arioso Strings. For the ceremony, we processed down the aisle to a rendition of “Make you feel my love” sung by Christian’s Aunt and accompanied by the String Duo. In a departure from tradition, we chose to have our wedding party sit in the second row of chairs so that they could feel more present and in the moment for our ceremony. To personalize the ceremony, we included readings from a Poem we love as well as scripture reading. Our favorite detail was our “UniTEA Ceremony” where we poured two variations of Iced Teas together in a break from tradition. After we were pronounced married and kissed, we recessed to “Accidentally in Love” from one of our favorite movies, Shrek.

Our Cocktail hour was held outside of the barn, Guests were offered drinks and hors d’oeuvres courtesy of Fearrington with the background of the beautiful farmlands and music by City Lights Jazz.

Once Cocktail hour ended, guests were ushered through the “Tunnel of Love” as we called it– The tunnel into the barn. We really wanted to have this be a statement piece for the evening, so with the help of Get Lit lighting, we had the entire tunnel lit up with string lights and also added curtains to add to the overall wow factor.

Upon entering the barn, we wanted guests to feel like they were entering a grand space, but also a fun space. To accomplish this, we had a ceiling installation created by Get Lit of String lights all throughout the barn and an additional mixture of Crystal Ords and Disco balls along with greenery dispersed throughout to add the “fun ” factor! It was incredible and with a large disco ball in the center of the room above a white and black checkered dancefloor, set the tone of the night that we were ready to Party!

For Centerpieces, we alternated between low and lush floral centerpieces with candles and large Treelike Centerpieces of Branches in large Crystal Vases to break up the space.

After a delicious plated dinner courtesy of Fearrington, the dance floor opened with Sleeping Booty, our band, playing the best mix of music that kept guests of all ages on the dance floor ALL NIGHT LONG! They were incredible!

Towards the end of the night, our guests were offered passed trays of mini chicken sliders and garlic parmesan french fries as a late-night snack in between dancing along with a dessert bar for late-night nibbles as well.

For the final song, the guests surrounded us as we danced the night away, and then, courtesy of Ultra Mix, Confetti Cannons shot off and covered us all in confetti. It was a wonderful ending to a wonderful day.

As guests sent us off in a sparkler exit, we were taken away in a golf cart, courtesy of Fearrington.

[field title=”Proposal Story”]I (Christian) proposed to Alex with an emerald cut diamond eternity band that was purchased from Diamonds Direct in Raleigh. I am super proud that I kept such a good secret of when the proposal was happening- I told Alex that we had a work dinner to attend for our engagement day, and he had no clue, especially when we were running late, that it was really his engagement. I enlisted the help of some great friends to scope out the rooftop of Barcelona wine Bar in Raleigh NC to set up the perfect display. The rooftop there has sweeping views of Raleigh, which we love, and was a great backdrop for our engagement. The set up for the rooftop was simple but elegant– A table with pictures of us along with some flowers, confetti, and candles around as well. When Alex and I got to the restaurant, we took the elevator up to the rooftop and he saw the display and immediately started crying. After some tears on my part and some sweet words, I got down on one knee, he said yes and we popped some Champagne to celebrate!

After that, I had a surprise dinner set up with our best friends and parents at Taverna Agora down the road from where we were and that was awesome to celebrate with our nearest and dearest too!

[field title=”Grooms Attire”]We worked with stylist and good friend, Gemma Gooddall at Alton Lane Raleigh, to design custom tuxedos for our wedding. We opted for classic black tuxes for the ceremony with a fun outfit change to cream dinner jackets for the reception. We love how the dinner jackets looked against the backdrop of disco ball ceiling installation!
We chose to go look for suits together but chose separately what fabrics to use for our custom tuxes as a fun surprise to each other.
My tuxedo was black but up close had a speckled dot pattern throughout. Inside of the tuxedo, I chose to add gold as a fun accent color and to make it pop! There also is my initials CAK stitched inside. I also have my initials stitched on the left sleeve of my dress shirt. ( so does Alex!!)

Alexs tuxedo is stark black and compliments mine well to give a classic contest! The inside of his jacket has a cream color to be an accent. And his initials are also stitched inside the jacket along with our wedding date 05.06.2023

For our Cream Dinner Jackets, we both opted to have our initials also added in the lining inside of the jacket to add to the custom nature of it all! [/field]

[field title=”Wedding Colors”]Tymorie and Elias had 3 events during their wedding week – rehearsal dinner at Acre, welcome party and the weddign day both at The Cape. For the wedding colors: white, cream, neutrals, blush, and a punch of black.
For the rehearsal dinner at Acre: wood, ivory, and tropical greenery. All of the guests wore white![/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]The Cape has a very specific retro surf vibe, so I wanted the design aesthetic to compliment our surroundings and have a bit of earthiness and texture to it but also contrast with some pretty neutral softness. Their entire celebration was focused on relaxed elegance where the details and customization were intentional and purposeful, but guests were able to enjoy every moment, soak in the scenery, and have fun! Tymorie and Elias were the best hosts for their guests![/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]From the bride: We met 10 years prior to our dating. He was a client in the very first salon I worked in, and all the older ladies wanted to set us up. When he finally sat in my chair, he was all business and definitely didn’t seem interested. While we realized we had many mutual friends, we found ourselves running into each other over the course of 10 years. We reconnected after I ended a bad relationship, and the rest was history. I knew he was everything I was waiting for my whole life, just after one date. We were inseparable from that moment on. We dated for 2 years before he proposed.

He chose a random day to throw me off. It was a normal Saturday where we met family for brunch. We were casual and it was THE last thing I expected. After our day, he took me to “meet” some other friends for a sunset and cocktails on the beach. When we arrived and our friends were not there, I immediately felt his nervousness as we were standing at a lookout spot. Before I knew it he was down on a knee and I was so emotional and happy, I literally blacked out! A photographer popped out of the bushes and our friends came running to us. It was perfect for us in every way![/field]

Elias wanted over the top. Michelle Garibay, our wedding planner is a master at her craft and when all three of us connected so quickly, I knew her professional vision was going to create something so much more grand and beautiful than we ever could. We picked a venue that absolutely suited us and our vision, so I knew I wanted Michelle to tie in the aspects of the hotel. She did, and BEYOND. It was more beautiful than I could have ever pictured.[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #3″]Their beloved chocolate Lab Finley was present as well in the custom cocktail napkins and the signature cocktail was named after him (and he was a delish skinny, spicy margarita!). There was even a cutout of him manning the bar!

From the bride: Being a Covid couple, we had to reschedule our date 3 times. Over the course of the year delay, we wondered if we would ever get to have the wedding we were so patiently waiting for. When it finally happened, all of our guests, especially us, were so ready to experience life after the shutdowns. The hype and excitement from postponing made our day THAT much more spectacular and the energy of our guests was unmatched! We loved the intimate and exclusive feel of a smaller resort. The hotel is immaculate in every way. And the modern touches of the resort with the views of the ocean allowed us to have a dressier destination wedding. We didn’t want to be casual. We wanted elegance on vacation!

Wildly Romantic Waterfront Wedding Overflowing With Florals

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]

The wedding colors were blush, ivory, white, and green.

[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

For Bailey and Steven’s wedding, we wanted to create a traditional Southern vibe with fun elements that spoke to the couple. The high school sweethearts met in Charleston, South Carolina, so it was important we found a quintessential Charleston venue right on the water as the couple spent so many of their years together being by the water with friends and family. We loved the traditional approach with just a touch of glam.

[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]I was back for a short break from PA school in August of 2021. Steven had asked me if I wanted to come have a drink with him on his parent’s dock before going out to dinner. He picked me up and we drove to his parents house. It was funny, he would not make eye contact with me and kept talking about these dolphins that he had seen off the dock. I had been on that dock for 9 summers and very rarely did we actually see dolphins, so I was suspicious, but it was still highly possible. We got to his parents house and I said I was going to run inside real quick and drop my bag off and grab us some drinks. Steven said no no just wait I’ll do it all its “crazy inside”. At that moment I knew something was up. My sister asking if my nails needed to be done that week or my mom asking about my hair, it was starting to make sense. But…my sister was out of town (or at least I thought), so I still did not think he would propose with Anna Rhett gone. We walked out to the dock, still talking about the dolphins and the weather, and finally we made it out to the dock. Steven told me to look out for the dolphins and look at the kids playing in the water. Then he said my name and I turned around and he was down on one knee. A photographer popped up from behind the tube on the boat, and I could not believe this day was finally here. Steven and I had been together since sophomore year of high school and now we were finally tying the knot! Smiles, hugs, and tears occurred as we took pictures out on the dock. We facetimed my family, ran up and saw Steven’s parents in their house, and then Steven took me to see my grandparents. After visiting with them I was curious if dinner was actually going to happen or if more surprises were in store. We pulled back up to Steven’s parents house and all of mine and Steven’s closest friends were there waiting on us. It was a special night with so much excitement for the engagement season and wedding planning to come. [/field]

I went back and forth on whether I wanted some lace or no lace. I tried on dresses in October of 2021, but Anna Rhett was not there, so I knew I would not be buying the dress without my sister/MOH/best friend! At that point, I had tried on several dresses with lace tops and a plain bottom. After that appointment, I kept looking at other lace dresses and I knew that I would always compare the lace on my dress to others—so funny story, Anna Rhett and I actually “designed” my dress before we went back. I wanted straps, but I wanted the straps to lay a certain way on my shoulders and not look like a tank top. Anna Rhett and I found an Anne Barge strapless dress that we loved. It had pointed edges, which we thought would be perfect to continue straps off of and it look seamless, along with a ruched top and fit and flare bottom. When we went back to White on DI, we immediately pulled the dress, and that was it…I found my dress!! We added buttons all the way down the back as I loved buttons and did a cathedral-length train. Picking out the veil was special with my mom, and I hope this will be a family heirloom I can pass down to my children and grandchildren. We could not just leave the store with one dress, so I ended up getting my reception dress there as well. It was a completely different vibe, something “fun.” It was short, strapless with beading and flower applique, along with a feather bottom. It was so fitting for a fun party dress! It was such a fun experience shared with my family, and I could not wait to show Steven. I am the worst at keeping secrets but I was able to keep it a secret from Steven and all my friends, so it truly was a surprise on the day of!

It was very important to celebrate the Lowcountry with Bailey and Steven’s guests. The couple grew up going to many oyster roasts together- a classic Southern get-together. So it was only fitting Technical Event Company built the couple a custom wooden raw bar for cocktail hour featuring the couple’s favorite seafood! As a surprise to Steven, Ice Age Ice Sculptures designed the couple an ice sculpture celebrating their new last initial in which bartenders used for Steven’s specialty cocktail- a Mexican mule! The dinner menu also included many southern staples-fried oysters, fried green tomatoes, and chicken and waffles. In a nod to Bailey, we surprised guests with espresso martinis after the couple cut the cake to keep the night going!

[field title=”Florals & Decor”]

vero eventsWhen it came to our approach to the design, we wanted to keep our look traditional, clean and crisp but with a few focal pieces that set Bailey and Steven’s wedding apart from any other. Some of our favorite pieces included the greenery hoops throughout the tents. Vero designs dressed up greenery chandeliers that acted as accents to our chandeliers in the ten. Bailey also loved the idea of flowers completely covering the stage front and wanted to keep this look cohesive by adding to the bar back shelves in the adjacent tent. Bailey’s traditional bouquet featured over 50 garden roses! vero events used a variety of roses, ranunculus, hellebore, sweet pea, and hydrangea.

[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]

Bailey and Steven had a family friend bake their wedding cake for them, which it made it all that more special. Mary Palmer baked a 4 tier cake with different flavors to appease all guests- cookies and cream, lemon and raspberry, carrot cake and cream cheese, and red velvet with cream cheese. A bottle of personalized Veuve Cliquot accompanied the cake table with Waterford crystal champagne flutes.

[/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]

The two exchanged vows in their family church, Grace Episcopal. The minister has known Bailey since she was a baby, so it was such a special moment to officiate her wedding. Bailey processed to Trumpet Voluntary- the same song her mom walked down the aisle to at her wedding. It was a very special moment for the two of them!

[field title=”Special Detail #1″]

There were so many details about the day that I loved, from personal details to the vision Chloe Ewing and A Charleston Bridewere able to create! I got to wear my grandmother’s jewelry, which was a special touch as it gave me my “something old” and “something borrowed”. The invitations and stationery were STUNNING with gold foil and detailed drawings of the church underneath. I loved the koozies that Studio R Design was able to create. Steven and I have very fond memories of years of oyster roasts, so we incorporated that onto our koozies, which was a fun and personal touch! The entire ceremony space was breathtaking, with the flowers created by vero events and the lounge area created by A Charleston Bride; it was everything I wanted and more. The entire day and every single detail was absolutely perfect! I am so grateful to all the vendors who made my dream wedding come true. Chloe and A Charleston Bride were not just my wedding planner but some of our favorite people who are now friends! I have nothing but wonderful things to say and wish we could do it all over again next year!

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]My favorite design aspect from the day was our lounge and bar tent. With over 350 guests, we knew we needed ample seating and a large bar to accommodate the large guest count. We actually built out the existing tabby at Lowndes Grove to create more space for guests. We had a custom 32 foot bar with lamps that created a cozy atmosphere. We added more personalized details with coffee table books so guests truly felt like they were at home and a huge central lounge that featured a stunning floral arrangement.[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #3″]Many may not realize that we actually had to endure a pop-up micro-burst that brought wind, hail, and a torrential downpour as Bailey and Steven were exchanging their vows at the church nearby. Although we ended up tenting all areas, rain soaked our linens, knocked over lamps and flower arrangements. As soon as guests started to head over to the venue, the skies cleared and no guests had any idea what had just happened. It is a testament to our vendors that we were able to pull this off. Linens were replaced with dry ones, the florist came back to replace broken vases, and we had a staff member dedicated to holding the ice sculpture during the entire storm to stop it from falling over! As planners, it is hard to accept that sometimes things are just out of our control. However, having trusted vendors that will endure the elements to make sure your clients are happy make all the difference![/field]

Picturesque English Country Garden Inspired Wedding at The Baumberhof

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]Charlotte chose a deep sage, antique rose, creamy white and champagne as her palette. [/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]We really wanted to lean into the Baumberhof’s existing beautiful features – a large ivy-covered wall, stone pillars, a lush forrest, a garden. From that was born the idea for an English country side inspired wedding. We used the venue’s natural elements to our advantage (full ivy, mature trees, rolling landscape) and added several varieties of English garden roses and moss to help soften the conservatory’s concrete interior. We wanted to create an ethereal, elegant, whimsical and cozy setting for our guests experience. [/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]Under the guise of her 28th birthday, Andrew put together a fun day of activities in Las Vegas. Charlotte thought it odd that he was going all out on a non-milestone birthday but no girl is saying no to a spa day and dinner! After dinner he said he had one final birthday surprise. Upon entering their hotel room, he offered to take Charlotte’s heels off when really he was kneeling down to propose. The final birthday surprise was an engagement ring and champagne sent to the room to celebrate! The save the date read “Long Story Short” as we detailed Charlotte and Andrew knowing each other since grade school, reconnecting during the pandemic, getting engaged in the fabulous Las Vegas to a beautiful springtime wedding in their home state. [field title=”Food & Drink”]Guests were greeted in the enchanted forest with frozen rosé popsicles and hand squeezed lemonade as a sweet and cool refreshment while they watched the ceremony. [/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]When designing a wedding, its so important build in harmony with what you already have the advantage of stylistically and architecturally. An expansive rolling greenbelt, gorgeous mature ivy and a dense, fairy-lit forrest with beautiful stone pillars in existence so writing in an elegant English garden was just an organic extension of those elements. We accented the reception space with several English garden rose varieties, Italian Cloony Ranunculus, Japanese sweet pea, English lavender, Dutch tulips and even some local mock orange from the florist’s cutting garden. [/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]Truly Amy Cakes is an Oklahoma City legend — not only for her designs but the flavor of her cakes is unmatched. Choosing the design was easy — floating tiers atop luscious garden roses to complement our theme. Narrowing down the flavors was the hard part! [/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]The processional was a sweet string mix of “Butterflies” by Kacey Musgraves and a slowed tempo version of “XO” by Beyonce while the recessional was jolly version of “This Will Be… An Everlasting Love” (Coincidentally the same song as another famous English-inspired wedding in the end credits of “The Parent Trap”)[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]When talking through the flower inspiration, Charlotte mentioned that she loved playful poppies, viney wisteria and that magnolia trees specifically reminded her of her late grandmother. Poppies and wisteria may have been out of season for the wedding but the magnolia trees in Oklahoma all burst open the week of Charlotte’s wedding and beautiful fragrant, white blooms dotted all the trees. [/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]We wanted our guests to immediately feel immersed in the design when receiving the invitation so with the help of Paper + More, we were able to mimic the stunning ivy-covered barn with an intricately cut ivy gate that wrapped around the entire invitation suite. Opening the envelope was like unwrapping a beautifully wrapped gift. [/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #3″]Upon exiting the ceremony, guests were greeted in the courtyard by two custom linen-wrapped escort card walls. More than 200 individual luxury blooms were pinned carefully into individual cards creating a stunning welcome arrangement and a fun way for guests to find their seats. (As beautiful as it was, it was comically labor intensive requiring three staff assistants diligently working to level each row and column against the elements of Oklahoma spring weather from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. – anything for the bride!) [field title=”Food & Drink”]A highlight of the food at Sarah and Sean’s wedding is the gelato cart!
From one of the best gelato shops in the city, our couple choose flavours they both enjoyed and knew their guests will also fall in love with. Flavours included yuzu citrus, espresso with chocolate bark, and to showcase the beautiful summer fruits, the BC strawberry.

For those who wanted something other than a drink at the bar to cool off, this provided a sweet and delicious reprieve from the warm afternoon sun.

[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]We focused on created an understated design with a touch of modern romance for the florals and decor.

The Stanely Park Pavilion is known for it’s iconic building and we decided to have a fluffy asymmetrical arch with flowers in shades of cream and pink and plenty of textures. We also created a lush arrangement to mark the aisle entrance.
For the reception, we choose to use an airy clear top tent with soft draping and cloud like hanging installation for that whimsical look. We tied it together with soft blush table linens, mauve glassware, textured satin napkins and tapered candles for a warm ambience.
We also used touches of gold for a bit of glamour that can be seen in the flatware, bar, and escort card display.
[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]We also wanted the cake to be a statement piece, so we chose to have a three tired cake that was intricately decorated with sugar flowers, wafer paper and plenty of textures. It was a cake that was so dreamy, romantic, and breathtaking.

[/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”][/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]Some of our favourite details were the special touches that alluded to both of their heritage; Korean and Chinese. The wedding favours of herbarium diffusers were designed and made in Korea and plenty of guests dressed up in beautiful traditional Chinese qipaos.
[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]An interesting detail for this wedding include the specially designed personalized menus with a velum pull out to tie into the wrapping of the wedding favours. The ribbon knot on the menus was tied in the traditional knot that is commonly seen in the Hanbok (Korean traditional dress). We also used the same vellum paper to wrap each of the wedding favours that also doubled as an escort card display. [/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #3″]It was important for our couple that their guests have a fun time, so various things were included for an entertaining and memorable experience. One of the entertainment was having a magician mingle amongst the guests and do some interactive magic tricks.[/field]

You’ll Love The Old-World Opulence At This San Francisco Wedding

Transporting attendees to an era of grandeur and sophistication, this celebration radiated with the charm of old-world opulence. Soft and enchanting floral arrangements, carefully curated in a delicate color palette by Wish Social Events, added an ethereal touch to the ambiance. Every element of the event spoke to an unparalleled level of elegance, a testament to the artful planning meticulously brought together by Mandy Scott Events. The timeless essence of the day was impeccably captured by gifted photographer Blue Note Weddings. See every incredible detail inside the full gallery.

After a 3-time postponement due to COVID, Robbie & Tim finally got to celebrate their wedding the way they wanted it at the lavish Fairmont in San Francisco. It was a wedding celebration incorporating classic traditions from Robbie’s Jewish faith and Tim’s Korean heritage. The two were pronounced husband and husband, witnessed by their friends and family in exquisite fashion at the gorgeous hotel. It was hard not to fall in love with these two gentlemen myself, as they exuded style, grace, and gratitude unlike I have ever seen towards all their loved ones and vendors. Robbie and Tim were pure love, and their admiration for one another really showed throughout their day. Dressed in matching Fendi couture suits and shoes, these two men were stylishly dressed to impress from head to toe. Everything from the San Francisco city skyline to the gorgeous table settings fit together with a harmonious elegance that brought their wedding details together in an opulent manner. Each detail was planned to perfection and executed to a tee by our favorite wedding planner Mandy Scott of Mandy Scott Events who kept the timeline of the day flowing perfectly. Having a first look is such an intimate moment, so the couple decided to share their first look on their hotel room balcony overlooking the cityscape followed by portraits with their adorable little pup Noona who was wearing a classic Korean Hanbok. Cocktail hour was kicked off by circus performers indulging the guests in a fantasy world of stilt walkers, handstands and Champagne skirts.

Guests were greeted and chaperoned by The Glamazon woman on stilts who directed people to the rooftop garden where cocktail hour and ceremony were held. Everyone enjoyed mingling with a pre-ceremony champagne delight and was accompanied by live-string trio entertainment. To bring even more excitement and eye candy performance to the pre celebratory event was a live contortionist that pretzeled in and out of poses in an effortless way, followed by a live aerialist that performed pole acrobatics on a half-moon sphere. Robbie and Tim had an intimate traditional Ketubah signing in a private room where just a few of their friends and family witnessed the ritual surrounding the couple with support. The two were granted blessings and prayers by their Rabbi and pronounced officially as husband and husband. Part two of their wedding ceremony proceeded out in the garden where Tim and Robbie exchanged vows and rings under a beautiful floral chuppah in classic color tones of blush, white and antique roses nested in lush greenery designed so beautifully by florist Heather Cassady of Wish Social Events.
Guests were moved to tears witnessing the the final pronouncement and showered the couple with clapping and cheers of love. It was clear to me that Robbie and Tim were surrounded by positive energy by everyone that attended the soirée, and in return, the two really wanted to give their guests the party of a lifetime with entertainment that went on throughout the night!

The reception was held in the Gold Ballroom that sparkled with decadents all around. Ornate gold leaf-lined walls and a turn-of-the-century French provincial detailing paired with the hand-painted art brought authenticity and old world class. Filled with a soft floral color palette were tables that defined class with a touch of glam. Chandelier-lined ceilings, coupled with the dimmed wall scones and tall candle votives, invoked the mood of old romance in the exquisite setting. Robbie and Tim’s first slow dance was lyrical and beautiful, but then the couple had a quick outfit change into Versace street clothes and stepped it up with a hip-hop choreographed dance that made the crowd go wild! A show to rival Saturday night in the Castro of San Francisco with money guns, dollar bills, and outrageous gowns worn by drag artists concluded dinner. The couple ended the night with cake cutting, champagne toasting, and the wild chair tossing Hora describing their wedding as “definitely worth the wait.”

This Upscale Backyard Wedding Screams ‘Coastal Grandma’ Style

[section title=”The Planning”]

[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]This wedding on Martha’s Vineyard set itself apart with the bride’s clear vision for an upscale “coastal grandma vibe.” Maeve and Connor chose to host their wedding at Maeve’s parent’s summer home on the island. This allowed them the flexibility to transform the space into a wedding venue for the evening while still being able to feel at ease and snap photos in the family garden.[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]Three weeks after Maeve moved to Charlotte, North Carolina, she ran into Connor at a local brewery. Soon after that day, they went on their first date, where they rode scooters around the city and enjoyed the local fare. Connor proposed about a year and a half later. That day Maeve had made brunch plans with some of Connor’s family. Connor got ready for his usual Saturday mornings at work, sending Maeve and her company off to brunch without him. That morning the city was also covered in a surprise snowstorm, the biggest it had seen in years. Maeve didn’t think Connor would be in attendance, but when she arrived, the restaurant was closed due to the weather. Connor came out from behind the corner and surprised her with a proposal alongside all her guests.[/field]
