Say “I Do” at The Greenhouse at Driftwood

Texas Hill Country is made for marrying, I don’t need to tell you that.  And when it comes to choosing a locale in this pretty little Lone Star State paradise, look no further than The Greenhouse at Driftwood, a breathtaking venue that is equal parts elegant AND unique. Think lush foliage, natural open spaces and a true attention to conservation and sustainability.  We’re honestly obsessed.

Tucked amidst the Onion and Jackson Creeks just miles from the Austin city limits, The Greenhouse at Driftwood is unlike any other venue you will ever have the privilege to visit with amazing structures and surroundings all cared for by THREE generations of the same family.  Yep, from the century-old Oaks to their beautiful greenhouse to their breathtaking deck, The Greenhouse at Driftwood is giving Hill Country weddings a whole new meaning.  Not to mention that The Greenhouse has been collecting rainwater for primary water use since the 1970’s, uses rooftop solar panels for most of their power needs AND proudly supports Hill Country Conservancy and the Travis Audubon Society. We love that.

Can’t wait to say “I do” amongst the native plants and awe-inspiring scenery of The Greenhouse at Driftwood?  Contact them TODAY to start planning the wedding you’ve always wanted.  It’s going to be awesome, lovelies.

From Brilliant Event PlanningJessica and Jack truly wanted to give their guests an experience – not just a wedding day. To make this a reality, they took over Belmond Maroma! Since they had exclusive use of the property, they were able to have many days of events and activities. They had an Authentic Tequila Tasting Cantina night, a Fiesta Blanca (Mexican themed white party!), as well as yoga, bike trips, and more. However, the best part of having the hotel to ourselves was the fact that we could do the reception in the exquisite front entrance to the property, which meant dinner and dancing under the stars in the jungle!

Belmond Maroma used to be someone’s home before it was a hotel and still feels like that today. To compliment this, we tapped into an authentic and traditional Mexican style wherever possible. The escort cards were handmade pottery, Ottomi patterns were incorporated into the white party, entertainers ranged from mariachi to flamenco dancers, and the welcome bags included worry dolls for guests to ensure they started relaxing from the moment they arrived! Even the ceremony was filled with tradition. Jessica and Jack opted for a Mayan Ceremony, which is performed by a shaman. Guests got their auras cleansed upon arrival and Jessica and Jack made an offering to the ocean during the ceremony.

After witnessing Jessica and Jack be pronounced husband and wife, guests made their way to the reception by candlelight. For table decor, gold band charger were alternated with gold beaded and each guest found their seat by looking for their custom menu with their name. The entire space smelled of roses and eucalyptus, thanks to the lush table runner! The band was the most important thing to Jack, so we flew The Social from Miami and they kept guests on the dance floor all night long!

The entire wedding weekend exploded with personal touches, including a custom sign that showed the distance to all of the places that Jessica and Jack have visited and loved. The bar, which is normally “Freddy’s bar” was even renamed as Jack and Freddy’s bar for the occasion!

Fun fact: On the morning of the wedding, it was threatening to rain. So, at the advice of one of the locals, we followed an old Mayan tradition that says if you put crossed knives into the ground, you will ward off the rain…and it worked! We had beautiful weather the entire day and ended the night with a bonfire and s’mores on the beach!

An Interior Designer’s Cape Cod Wedding with To-Die-For Nautical Details

When this gorgeous Cape Cod wedding first came across my desk, I had to do a double take to make sure it was a real wedding and not a photo shoot because it’s that pretty. But that’s no surprise considering this beautiful Bride is an interior designer. From the hanging sailboat to the scattered seashells throughout, this wedding is the definition of nautical glamour. See it all from Arielle Doneson Photography in The Vault!

From Arielle Doneson PhotographyElizabeth and Peter met on the Cape, where Elizabeth grew up and Peter spent much of his youth. The Provincetown monument was the perfect backdrop for their nuptials as it offered a stunning 360 view of their beloved cape. As an interior designer with a discerning eye, Elizabeth styled the day to perfection with nautical objéts curated from her travels. The day started out a gray and rainy one but by the time the ceremony began it was a perfectly glorious Cape Cod day – just a photographer’s dream.

A Hometown Wedding Filled With Florals

Every great love starts with a great story, and for Carly + Gabe it all began with the company they keep. For it was when mutual friends introduced this sweet pair that they immediately recognized – hey, this is my person. Fast forward 2 years and the rest? Well, it’s as they say – history. Annie Parish Photography captured it all to share and we’ve got it waiting for you in The Vault!

MustWatch_swash-01

[iframe http://player.vimeo.com/video/157403625 600 338]

From the Bride… Gabe and I met in the most normal way possible – through mutual friends – but I knew immediately it was the start of something that was anything but ordinary. Fast forward 2 years, lots of hour long commutes and one very cute furry french bulldog later, and we were heading to my home state of Indiana for Christmas. If there is one thing I love, it’s Christmas time at home with all my friends and family! Gabe and I were headed out to meet up with some of my friends in downtown Indianapolis, but the cab pulled over at Monument Circle – where there was a huge statue made into a Christmas tree with lights. I thought Gabe just wanted to see it, because Indianapolis is known for this huge Christmas tree, but next thing I know he was down on one knee! After I said YES! a group of my best friends came running out of hiding, and we met my parents at a restaurant nearby to celebrate. It was an unforgettable night.

When it came time to start planning the wedding, we had to choose between California (where we lived) and Indiana (where I grew up). We chose Indiana for many reasons, but mainly I wanted to be able to get ready in my childhood home, surrounded by family and friends. It felt like the perfect way to end one chapter of my life and begin the next. One of the first venues we went to was The Marott, a historic building in downtown Indianapolis. I knew right away that it was the place we would get married. We wanted an elegant, warm, and romantic wedding where we could celebrate our love with family and friends, and our venue delivered just that. It has such an air of old school elegance, with marble columns and crystal chandeliers.

There were so many special little details that went into our day. I think the details are really what makes the day memorable for not only Gabe and I, but our friends and families as well. One of my favorite details is that all of us girls spent the morning getting ready in my childhood home. It was surreal to be sipping champagne and getting our makeup done in the same rooms I used to play dolls in. We took pictures in the robes I got the girls in my backyard, where I used to play cowboys and indians! It was so special to me. My something blue were my gorgeous shoes, and my something old was beading from my mom’s wedding gown, that she sewed onto my garter herself.

Our wedding day was a whirlwind of fun, laughter and love. The girls and I got ready in my childhood home, sipping champagne, laughing and reminiscing. The boys got ready in a hotel downtown, close to the venue. After getting our hair and makeup done, we headed to the venue in our robes to get dressed and do some last minute touch ups. I snuck a peek into the ceremony space and the ballroom and was blown away! The backdrop that was built just for us was more than I could have ever imagined. And our florist had created the most romantic, soft feeling with her florals. My bridesmaids hadn’t seen my dress yet, and my mom zipping me into was such an emotional moment for me – the nerves were definitely starting to set in!

After I was dressed, my dad came in to see me – the second he hugged me I burst into tears! He told me I looked just like my mom on her wedding day, which of course made me cry even more. I opened my gift from Gabe, which was a bottle of perfume. Everytime I spray it now, it takes me right back to our wedding day. Finally, we were all ready and lined up for the ceremony – the second my dad and I came around the corner, I just locked eyes with Gabe at the end of the aisle. Once again, I was overcome with happiness, love, and appreciation for this wonderful man and started to cry. By the time my dad was lifting my vail and kissing my cheek, I had pulled it together. Our actual ceremony was a bit of a blur, I was just so happy to be up there with Gabe! We wrote our own vows, and hearing Gabe describe his love and promises to me is something I will forever cherish. Walking out of the ceremony to the cheers of our family and friends was the most joyous moment of my life!

After the ceremony, we took pictures and Gabe and I really had time to let it all sink in. We used a vintage convertible of my dad’s as our getaway car, it was perfect! During pictures, Gabe would sneak little whispers into my ear, and while now I can’t remember what he said, I know I was just so giddy to be able to call him my husband! We headed back to the venue for the reception, and I was so excited because I had a surprise for my new husband. We entered the ballroom and headed right into our first dance – but first, a surprise guest! I had flown out one of Gabe’s favorite recording artists from Los Angeles to perform our first dance, as well as the dances with our parents. He was SO surprised. We danced, drank, and partied the night away.

It was truly one of the best days of our lives, even though it seemed to be gone in a flash. All our vendors really made our dreams come true, and being able to share so many memories with families and friends was all we really wanted.

The Secret to a Killer Party? Dessert!

Dessert is a no-fail approach to entertaining. As in, if you have dessert, and we’re talking really, really great dessert, your guests will be happy. End of story. Be Inspired PR knows that secret all to well. Her springtime fete for the relaunch of Inspired by This is loaded with delicious dessert and killer decor by Jesi Haack Design + JL Designs.  Think pretty rugs, chic conversation spots, and a Frost Yourself dessert spread all photographed by Valorie Darling with even more in the VAULT!

With the recent makeover of Inspired by This, we decided to throw a party to celebrate! The Garland hosted us in their beautiful garden park that we decked out in the colors of our new branding – black and white with pops of coral.

We brought in Jesi Haack for the design touches – which included a faux fur backdrop, a long wood table from Found Rentals with marble chargers and gold flatware from Borrowed Blu, a “shopping suite” where guests got to shop some of our favorite brands and a “Frost Yourself” dessert bar full of tasty treats from Beverly’s Bakery. Our friends dined on a beet and burrata salad, roasted sea bass with fingerling potatoes and a savory cauliflower steak served by The Garland. We had a wonderful time celebrating the new Inspired by This!

A Fashion Pro Ties the Knot And the Style Game is On Point

If you’re looking for some style advice, look no further than this bride who’s the founder behind the fashion brand, Rebecca Bree. “My personal style is a bit edgy. A bit rocker with a touch of femininity, but I’ve always believed your wedding day should have a classic elegance that will stand the test of time,” Rebecca said. Between her Carolina Herrera gown and Christian Dior pumps, we’re pretty sure she nailed it and the entire celebration followed suit. See Vasia Photography’s captures in The Vault!

From Spread Love Events… Being the owner of a gorgeous women’s fashion boutique (Rebecca Bree), this bride knows good style! Having been with her partner, Rick for 15 years before getting married, Rebecca was beyond excited to begin planning her wedding. Fashion, of course, was a high priority! Rebecca was married in a Carolina Herrera lace mermaid style gown and cathedral length veil with hot pink satin Christian Dior pumps – a nod to her edgy personal style – before changing into a long sleeve lace Monique Lhuillier jumpsuit for an epic dance party!

Wanting her wedding to have a feminine, classic elegance about it, we custom designed a hand-painted floral invitation suite which provided a glimpse into the beauty that awaited guests when they arrived at the ranch.

Greeted with lemonade, paper parasols, sunshine, music, and even a giraffe, it was was quite the arrival! Rebecca and Rick said their vows during a romantic ceremony under the willow tree. This was followed by a roaming cocktail hour on the lawn, beautiful family-style dinner under twinkling lights, and a dance floor that was hopping before the cake had been cut!

From The Bride… Rick and I met 17 years ago at a party, it was love at first sight for me but it took a bit longer for the romance to kick in for Rick. We were together for 15 years before we got married. We are each other’s best friends, we are each other’s soul mates.

The minute I stepped on the property at The Saddlerock Ranch I knew it was where we would get married. I wanted to be married surrounded by trees and twinkly lights and this place had it all.

My personal style is a bit edgy, a bit rocker with a touch of femininity but I’ve always believed your wedding day should have a classic elegance about it that will stand the test of time. As soon as I put on the veil with my Carolina Herrera dress, I knew that was it. My dress and veil were by Carolina Herrera. The dress was a lace mermaid style with sweetheart bodice, high neckline, and short sleeves. The veil was an Alençon lace edged and cathedral length…it was my favorite part of the look. I wanted to keep it on all night! My shoes were hot pink satin pumps by Christian Dior, this is where my edgy style came in.

On our wedding day, I wanted everyone to have an incredible time. I wanted to dance the night away with all our loved ones around us! Spread Love Events were my planning and design team and they made sure that happened…they were absolutely incredible. I also really loved the early stages coming up with our overall design vision. I am very visual so I had a lot of inspiration images…in fact I think I brought a scrapbook to our first meeting!

One of my favorite moments was walking down the aisle with my Dad, because I have always dreamt of that moment. It was so perfect…the flower girl, who is also my niece, decided she wanted to join in on the fun so she ran up to us and grabbed my Dad’s hand and we all walked together, it was so great. It had everyone laughing. The other favorite moment would have to be during the reception – I took a quick look around at my guests and there were all having the best time. Big smiles and laughter…my vision had come true.
