A Pop o’ Color Looks Down Right Dreamy in this Master Bath Redo

We are ALL ABOUT this master bathroom redo masterminded by Austin Bean Design Studio. It gives off a luxe, spa-like quality with the prettiest of upgrades. I swear that tub was just made for lounging in with a wine glass in hand. But on top of all that dream bathroom goodness is a pop o’ color in the form of a gorgeous vintage rug and show-stopping art. Take the full tour captured by Kacey Gilpin right here.

From Austin Bean Design Studio…The master bathroom before remodel was a very french country design, covered in wallpaper and with a heavy and non functional cabinetry layout. The bathroom felt dark and outdated. The client wanted the bathroom to be light and airy with pops of color. She wanted it to be functional for their family with young children- which most of the time means everyone is in there together. The floors are a laid in a herringbone pattern, made of limestone– with matching wall tile in the shower, floor and walls.

How to Survive All Those Opinions (+ Personalities) When Wedding Planning

We sat down to chat with an expert in planning weddings, Cristen Faherty of Cristen and Co.. She’s doling out some much needed advice on navigating the planning waters with so many personalities – and lots and lots of opinions being thrown your way. Getting ready to start planning your “I Dos”? Then this is a must read.

Photography: Love and Light Photographs

Plan of Attack

Before the planning begins and family members get involved, have a discussion with your fiancé to ensure you both are on the same page when it comes to troubleshooting issues that come up with family during the planning process. You should always have each other’s back and never become a divided front, because you’re each other’s future. You need to make decisions together that are good for the two of you – even if it means upsetting a family member because they want something specific for your wedding that you don’t.

Photography: Annamarie Swift Photography

Take It With a Grain of Salt

Take everything with a grain of salt and be willing to listen to others. Everyone has an idea of what a wedding should be, so your parents, close friends, and other family members might voice opinions and suggestions on what they think you should be doing during the planning process or for your wedding. Some of their suggestions might be great, and others you might cringe at, but remember it’s your wedding day. It is about you and your fiancé, and it is okay to do your own thing! Be up front and honest with them from the beginning, explaining that you will listen but you may not take all of their suggestions.

Photography: Kim Lyn

Dole Out Tasks

You know your family and their personalities better than anyone – give your parents or close friends that are in your bridal party certain planning tasks or projects to keep their mind off of everything else. That way, you can focus and make decisions on things you don’t want them involved in, and they can contribute meaningfully in a way suited to their strengths and interests. Ask them to help with the bridal shower, bachelorette party, rehearsal dinner, or farewell brunch; those events alone will take a significant amount of time to plan. Or have them join in on the dress shopping experience or help you create the guest list. This will keep their minds busy so they won’t have as many strong opinions on what vendors you should be booking and what your wedding will look like.

Photography: Kim Lyn

Hire a Wedding Planner!

I always say, “I’m your wedding planner, friend, and therapist!” Wedding planners can act as a middle man when times get frustrating with family members, and we can discuss certain aspects of the wedding with the family to guide everyone to a compromise. We can give suggestions or ideas that will make everyone happy in the long run. And, honestly, most of the time when the couple has a wedding planner, family members and friends tend to stay out of the planning process more because they know the couple has hired an expert to handle all of the details.

Summer Season Honeymoons For The Bargain-Hunting Bride And Groom

Going on a honeymoon is a time for newlyweds to unwind after the “I do’s”, and start their marriage off with a bang. But, who says that it has to be an elaborate trip that breaks the bank? If you’re a tad money conscious (thanks, wedding planning) and booking a honeymoon in the summer months, use it to your advantage. Warm weather destinations often have lower prices and endless adventure possibilities. Start planning!

Leslee Mitchell

Anna-Maria Island, Florida
During the summer months, Florida is surprisingly more cost effective than during spring break! Anna Maria Island off the coast of Florida is particularly gorgeous. Find a beautiful, beachy Airbnb to stay in on the island. You’ll get the beautiful white sand beaches, adorable beach towns, and as much privacy as you want – without spending an arm and a leg for something like the Bahamas.

Road Trip
Taking a trip up the coast, through the mountains, or along the rugged terrain (wherever you may live) can be super fun. It’s a quick and cost-effective way to explore many places in such a short amount of time. Drive at your leisure and stop at any place that intrigues you two along the way. Take a Polaroid camera and document each day, and make a travel playlist to listen to while you drive. It might end up being the best trip you’ve ever taken. Bonus: the long drive allows you two to have intentional conversations and unwind mentally after the wedding.

Las Vegas
Did you know flights to Las Vegas can cost as little as $100 round trip? Crazy, right?! Once you arrive in Vegas, there’s so much to explore! Vegas is fun and upbeat but still has those quiet places that are perfect for your honeymoon mood. Get a couples massage, take beautiful hikes through the scenic mountains, and enjoy rooftop dinners with heart-emoji-worthy views. If your couple style is a bit wilder, enjoy all of the nightlife Vegas has to offer. There are countless shows, bars, casinos, and you can drink as much as you want without feeling guilty because, Vegas.

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico
Mexico is perfect if you’re in the mood for a tropical vacation, without crazy tropical vacation prices. Puerto Vallarta, in particular, has beautiful resorts with swim-up bars, endless shoreline, and poolside service. Shop around for the resort that catches your eye and accommodates your honeymoon desires. You can often find resorts with both beach-front access and pools sprinkled throughout the property. Mojitos for two, coming right up!

Courtney Perkins Ryan

Caribbean Cruise
If you live near a U.S. port, cruises enable you to explore many tropical destinations in one beautiful and inexpensive trip. You’ll get to hop around different islands, while often paying less than you would if you went to just one island for your honeymoon. Cruises are often all inclusive, which can help you be more mindful of your spending and allow you to enjoy your time without counting dollars. Shop around for a summer cruise, and you’ll find discounts and promotions for many of them.

When you’re starting out your newlywed, (and newly-budgeted) lives, it can be hard to take off on an exotic honeymoon. However, you can still get a dream-worthy vacation without breaking the bank. Your sneaky weapon: honeymooning in the summer months. This keeps the cost low and gives you many options for that fun getaway you two need and deserve.

A Timeless Engagement Session Fit for Royalty

This engagement session is 100% princess status. The couple looked classic in a stunning, black gown and dapper suit at Chateau Cocomar, a stately mansion and gardens that make you feel like you’ve been transported to Europe. But what I love most about the timeless images by Marsais Photography is that they capture the joy of this glowing couple. See some of our favorites below, and then head to the gallery for the rest!

From Marsais PhotographyAn enchanting engagement session took place at the beautiful Chateau Cocomar in Houston. Samantha desired a fairytale dream for her engagement session, complete with formal attire, and her groom-to-be obliged. Romantic Wedding Built for Two in Paso Robles

Small, intimate celebrations are some of the most wildly romantic. There is just something magical about you, your love and a handful of your favorite people that really makes for a heartfelt day. And with Bash Please crafting the details, Catalina Neal creating the Fall infused blooms and Lacie Hansen behind the camera, this Paso Robles affair held at the HammerSky Vineyards and Inn is a gorgeous rendition of a wedding built for two

Vineyard

From Kim of Flutter Magazine… Everyone in this industry is always creating beautiful styled inspiration. So many top notch resources and talents come together to make these fantastical wedding setups that we see in magazines, on SMP and other blogs every day. If we’re going through all of the trouble to create the imagery, why not give it real meaning? We saw the #happilyeverelopement as an opportunity to help one amazing couple celebrate their love in a way they couldn’t have otherwise. We are always creating dreams. Why not make them someone’s reality? Celebrating Ellen and Jeremy with at Hammersky Vineyards with a incredible lineup of vendors was one of the most rewarding things we’ve ever done.

From the Bride… Hammersky is a hidden gem in Paso Robles. The grounds are just breathtaking and every last detail is perfectly designed. Stepping inside of the vineyard house you truly felt like you were at home and you never wanted to leave. We wanted for absolutely nothing while we were there. I think our favorite part was having the house full of our family and sitting outside on the two beautiful porch swings drinking wine, chatting, and laughing. If it sounds like a movie, believe me, I know it felt like one. Our group had a unanimous consensus about the food and drinks by Field to Table. It was, hands down, the best meal all eight of us have ever eaten! We all particularly loved the lamb lollipops as well as the pear and vanilla margaritas. After cocktail hour we made our way to the magnificent dining table overlooking the entire vineyard where we had the most exquisite six course meal. Every single course was divine and perfectly reflected the time of year and location. I think we will all especially be forever dreaming about the cauliflower bisque with chorizo and toasted croutons served in the cutest little copper pots, and the individual chicken pot pies in mini cast iron skillets, yum! Jeremy and I joke that it was love at second blurred sight for us. We met briefly in 2008 when Jeremy had perfect 20/20 vision. Fast forward one year and one very traumatic life experience later, Jeremy had been diagnosed with a rare genetic disorder called Leber’s Hereditary Optic Neuropathy or (LHON) that caused him to suddenly lose his central vision in both eyes leaving him legally blind. Initially, Jeremy thought he would drop out of college but ultimately decided to give it another shot. Thankfully for me, he did! Just nine months after Jeremy lost his vision, he and I happened to meet again at a school event. We struck up a conversation and I remember thinking ‘wow’ this guy is something special. After that we were pretty much inseparable.

A Fall Wedding With The Most Instagrammable Staircase Ever

Finding the right words to describe this wedding is tough because every last moment is what I like to call Instagrammable perfection. Starting with a floral-covered staircase to the candlelit ceremony, and the classic ballroom reception, only Kate Ignatowski’s photos can do it full justice. And in case you’re wondering how they ended such a perfect evening…Shake Shack saved the day.

From the bride… Our wedding was the most memorable, exciting, love-filled day of my life. I know it’s not unusual, but I was truly surprised and utterly disappointed when it was all over so quickly! My husband and I have commented that although we had an amazing honeymoon, we would have given it up in a second to be able to repeat our wedding day. There was something so surreal about having all our loved ones in one room celebrating the joy of our marriage.

My family and I are very, very close and always have been. Due to the recent passing of a few close family members within a short time, it has brought us even closer. When it came time to plan for the wedding, we did it together as a unit every step of the way. The wedding was a perfect reflection of the traits of my family – loving, emotional, stylish and fun. From the beginning, I knew I wanted to have a wedding close to my childhood home so I could have photos getting ready there. The only other requirement was ensuring the wedding didn’t feel stuffy, even if it was in a “traditional” ballroom, I wanted a loose, organic theme.

We chose to have the wedding during the fall, our favorite season. The weather is (usually) perfect, and the fall foliage only adds to the romance of the season. As I learned very quickly, not all things go according to plan and we were forced to deal with the aftermath of Hurricane Matthew causing our ceremony to be moved indoors at the eleventh hour. Despite the change, the ceremony was filled with dozens and dozens of candles and flowers, creating the most intimate makeshift chapel I had ever seen. It was breathtaking! Florals were integral to my vision of the reception and when I finally saw the ballroom, I had to have a moment to collect myself because it was better than my dreams could ever have imagined!

Our immediate family and our bridal party sat in tables framing the dance floor, allowing us to enjoy the company of our closest loved ones from every angle. The band, Pete Saunders Band of Hank Lane Music, was absolutely incredible and had our guests raving for weeks after the day. I am not exaggerating when I say they sang covers just as well if not better than the original artists. My husband and I spent a long time finding the perfect first dance song for us that closely describes our relationship. After pouring over the lyrics of too many songs to count, we chose “Stay with You” by John Legend. We met in 2009 during the tumultuous high school/college years. No one, much less the two of us, would believe we would end up together when we first started dating. But after going through so much together in a short period time, we quickly realized there was no one else for the other.

One of the highlights of the night came at the end of the reception when guests were ushered to the front of the clubhouse to find a fully loaded Shake Shack truck. After a night of tearing up the dance floor, there is nothing more satisfying than digging into a Shake Shack burger and fries. It was a very unconventional party favor, but so uniquely us!

All Our Secret Garden Dreams Are Coming True

When this Bride chose Leach Botanical Garden for her Portland wedding, she knew she wanted to enhance the natural beauty of the venue. From Jenny Losee PhotographySara, being the artist she is, put so much detail into her wedding. The small touches added beauty to an already beautiful day. Visiting Leach Botanical Garden is like being transported into the middle of a green, Hawaiian island or Jurassic Park! It was truly an honor to work beside so many creative talented people.

From the Bride… We planned to spend the weekend camping on the beach in Pacific City, Oregon with my siblings. We hiked up a bluff to get a view of the sunset on the ocean. Once we reached the top, Justin asked if my brother would take a picture of the two of us. Then Justin reached in his sandy shoe to grab the ring and popped the question! We are very thankful to my photographer brother who captured it all!

My mom and I were bridal dress shopping, and before we even spoke to an associate, we saw a gorgeous dress that stood out amongst a sea of white and ivory. We both walked over to it and admired it. Before I knew it, I was trying it on and fell in love. I am, perhaps, the most indecisive person I know, so I did a bit more shopping around but couldn’t get the first dress out of my head; I just kept picturing myself in it. The dress was feminine and easy to wear – exactly what I was looking for!

My wedding flowers were incredible! I chose a very trusty florist with incredible talent. I gave up my control to let her design arrangements that had berries on the vine, herbs, mauve and blush touches, and greenery. The arrangements were whimsical, organic, lush, and sweet as could be. I wanted them to mimic a true garden, fruit and herbs and all!

I’m sure every Bride and Groom gets this feeling at some point in the day, but as we all sat down and began eating, I looked up and noticed all of our guests. I got choked up to the point of tears, as I couldn’t fathom that all of our favorite people were in the same spot. It was humbling and wonderful, and I thanked God. I also shared a special moment with my mom away from everyone as we exchanged our notes to each other – that moment still touches me. It was emotional and heartfelt; it calmed me and gave me comfort in a bittersweet way.

Remember that it’s your and your spouse’s day, but don’t forget that this is for your family and friends, too. Make yourself happy, but do keep in mind your spouse, parents, and everyone else who has done a lot to pitch in. On the day of your wedding, be in the moment always. Don’t overthink the next step or how it will all turn out. The Bride and Groom are ultimately the ones who set the mood, so be attentive and live out the best day of your life. From the minute you wake up on your wedding day, soak it all in. Be attentive to what’s going on around you, remember any last minute advice given to you, and receive all the kind compliments people pay you.

A Breathtaking Wedding With Bridesmaids in White

We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again – we adore when the Bridesmaids are dressed in all white! This Bride dressed her beautiful ‘maids in an array of dreamy, white gowns from Joanna August and Show Me Your Mumu, which popped against the breathtaking grounds of the 1824 House. Michelle Elaine Weddings planned this gorgeous event captured by Dreamlove Wedding Photography, and we have it all for you right here.

Rustic

From Michelle Elaine WeddingsI have been blessed to be introduced to this beautiful, fun loving, and amazing family. Kelley is the second of four sisters to be married last year. She was a very calm and easy bride to work with, but she also knew exactly what she wanted and how she envisioned the execution on the wedding day to be, which I absolutely loved!

The natural backdrop at the 1824 House is just so stunning that you don’t need to go overboard with any decor or detail. Jayson Munn designed everything perfectly. Kelley had wanted the design to flow in a way that it felt as if the tables and tent were a part of the property, keeping the design very green, open, and airy.

The ceremony was absolutely breathtaking, atop the hill at 1824 House, providing guests with the most gorgeous views for miles. Kelley’s decision to have her girls dressed in all white was just the right touch – it kept the look simple, clean, and still very pretty while not taking away from the natural beauty of this outdoor space.

From the folk band, to the rustic decor, twinkling lights, homemade pies, and s’mores as the sun went down, this wedding was like a magical wonderland in Vermont!

From Dreamlove Wedding PhotographyThis summer wedding had us absolutely swooning. Hints of earthy, romantic details were around every corner. Kelley wore flowers in her hair and a dress that had pockets! The pockets came in handy, as she could keep her sunglasses tucked away for those brighter moments during the outdoor ceremony.

The florist created a set of stunning rustic wedding bouquets made of thistles, sea foam poppy pods, succulents, and white peonies. Following the hilltop ceremony, guests were invited into the sailcloth tents for a rustic and cozy reception. Raw linen table runners with garlands of eucalyptus adorned the long dinner tables. Jars of honey personalized with the bride and groom’s pictures served as unique guest favors for everyone!

There were several heartfelt speeches during the evening. Kelley’s sisters followed up the toasts with an amazing rendition of songs. They, along with many of their extended family, welcomed Stephen into the family by singing “We Are Family”! As the sun went down, the dance floor picked up with the twinkling cafe lights. A campfire outside set the scene for a delicious s’more-making party – the perfect ending to such a lovely wedding day.

From the Bride… Stephen and I met roughly nine and a half years ago. It was sophomore year at Middlebury College, and we were at some party. This long-haired hippie wearing a ripped flannel approached me. He reminded me of Mimisiku from “Jungle 2 Jungle,” aka my ultimate teenage crush. We exchanged numbers and soon after, he took me on a snowboarding date. I’ve never looked back.

Steve proposed to me in December of 2014. We went on a getaway weekend up to Bristol, Vermont and stayed at one of our favorite little B&Bs – nothing unusual. We snowshoed up Camel’s Hump and there, at the top, amidst a snowy winter wonderland, Stephen proposed. We snowboarded back down to the car, turned off our cell phones, and celebrated with some delicious Vermont brews!

To other brides, my advice is to plan early and and be prepared to finish everything the week before the wedding so you can sit back and simply enjoy. Try to slow down time on the wedding day, take in as much as you can, smile, and EAT!

My favorite thing about my wedding day, well, obviously Steve was (and continues to be) my favorite thing! But despite the obvious, our family and friends were the best part of our wedding day! We were surrounded by our favorite people in the entire world. And it is the people that make the wedding – the speeches, the dancing, the laughs, the love!

Move Over Pool Floats… Swan Donuts are this Summer’s It Detail

I have found a new favorite accessory that goes far beyond my love for a well styled pool float… Swan donuts! They are one of the many pretty details tucked inside this 1st birthday celebrated poolside. A Swan Soiree seems pretty perfect for the babe of a blogger extraordinaire. It’s a sea of  floral draped teepees, feathered friends and yes, swan donuts, all crafted by Palm Beach Lately, along with Jessica Lorren behind the lens. Get inspired for the perfect summer party with even more in here.

When it came time to start thinking of Grace’s first birthday, I was still loving all things swan! Inspired by her nursery designed by Luxe Report Designs, I decided to do a “swan soiree.” Lovely Little Party created an invitation that incorporated the feminine swan elements with the contrasting Caitlin Wilson rug pattern. We then turned that in to custom wrapping paper, plates and banners. When guests arrived to the party, there was a vignette with the gold and white striped teepee from Land of Nod adorned with floral garland and wrapped presents atop a swan raft. A greenery wall with acrylic letters and paper flowers were the backdrop to the dessert table that was filled with swan donuts, cookies and cupcakes by Earth and Sugar and cake with a swan topper by Edda’s Cake Design. The drink station featured lemonade and iced tea in custom cups with swan straws, a custom Happy Birthday banner and the mimosas and champagne bucket were draped with florals. I wanted a keepsake for Grace, so I brought the “Swans” book from her nursery for guests to leave a message her. The table was draped with a sequin linen and flanked with floral swans created by The Event Group. Thanks to some inspiration from The Celebration Stylist, I spray painted the legs of the Ikea highchair gold and added a monogram decal. Grace wasn’t so sure about her smash cake but loved everyone singing to her! She was swaying back and forth to the song and had so much fun with all the big girls (and boys).

What Marriage Looks Like 13 Years After “I Do”

If you want to know what an incredible anniversary looks like, take cues from Carlie and Gabriel who planned the getaway of a lifetime in Napa. This bride and groom (now “mom and dad”) left the kiddos at home and enjoyed a trip filled with biking, picnicking, swimming, relaxing, and embracing every blissful second to the max. Lucy Munoz captured the love in a beautiful way and we’re giving these two the trophy for cutest couple EVER.

From Lucy MunozThis beautiful Napa anniversary session is sure to give you all the feels! Carlie and Gabriel celebrated their 13th wedding anniversary at the gorgeous Carneros Resort and Spa. Carneros is situated in Napa amongst some gorgeous vineyards and rolling hills. I followed them for 3 days while they biked, had a picnic, relaxed, swam, rejuvenated and in the end took some amazing pictures to celebrate their 13 years of marriage.

Pineapple Petals Studio created an amazing bouquet and florals. For the outdoor romantic tub they wanted everything to represent the joy and love that Gabriel and Carlie have for one another. Carlie’s laugh is so infectious that none of us could stop laughing!

On the last day the sun came out and it was splendid! I took them around the resort (as you can see there are so many gorgeous spots, you just can’t go wrong) to photograph them in formal attire. The light was so creamy that day and the images turned out to be some of my favorites! For this part of our shoot Pineapple Petals Studio created a bountiful bouquet to signify 13 amazing years.

Of course it wouldn’t be complete if we didn’t mention that Carlie and Gabriel have two beautiful children named Myles and Kaia, who were ok with mommy and daddy spending some quality alone time together.

Happy anniversary to the both of you!

A Gorgeous Alfresco Garden Affair in the Desert

Michelle & Martiin pictured rolling hills of lush vineyards and a Tuscan-inspired villa as their background. With the help of Kaleb Norman James they brought their vision to the desert landscape of Washington, where they could retreat from the city but still be surrounded by their closest friends and family. Cave B’s grapevine covered Piazza set the perfect stage, while guests dined on an Italian-inspired meal and local wines. Michelle knew that to accomplish her vision, she wanted guests to enter into a glamorous setting that left guests surrounded by lush white floral and lots of shining crystal on the tables, but simultaneously evoked a fresh, organic feel, with blooming olive branches and weathered oak tables and chairs. Michelle’s Galia Lahav gown added a flair of sophistication with it’s delicate lace and crystal beaded belt. It was truly a gorgeous and memorable wedding!

Oh, If Only We Could All Honeymoon Like Miranda Kerr + Evan Spiegel

There are luxurious honeymoons and then there’s Miranda Kerr and Evan Spiegel’s honeymoon. The Snapchat CEO and supermodel wed just a week ago in a private ceremony in Brentwood, California with their closest family and friends. According to E! News, the couple jetted off to Fiji to celebrate at the Laucala Island Resort, an exclusive island resort that sits on 3,500 acres in gorgeous Fiji that averages anywhere between $12,000 – $60,00 per night. The resort is completely secluded and only accessible via private jet. Each villa offers private infinity pools, floor to ceiling windows, 390 degrees of unreal views, need I say more. Check out more images below. We will be officially day dreaming the rest of the day. Oh, if only!

A Foggy Morning in the City Engagement Session

If you think sunny skies and open fields are the only way to do an engagement, allow me to introduce Alicia Swedenborg who photographed this foggy city session that’ll make you fully reconsider. The tall white pillars paired with the bride’s sleek jumpsuit made for a crazy stylish look, and the love between these two radiates from every image. See more of this couple in their beloved city right this way.

From the bride… Though we attended the same college, we didn’t meet until after we graduated and were introduced by mutual friends at a dinner in Georgetown for a friend who was visiting.

Patrick proposed at Weir Pond on Weir Farm Historic Site in Ridgefield, Connecticut, Kelly’s hometown. The park is adjacent to Kelly’s parent’s house and is somewhere she spent a lot of time as she was growing up.

We wanted to do the engagement session in DC since it is where we met and where we live. It was one of the foggiest mornings I can remember in DC, but the fog combined with the monuments and the cherry blossoms (plus Alicia’s extraordinary talent!) made for magical photos.

A Part Vintage, Part Modern Palm Springs Wedding

Between the Bride’s Art Deco inspired, beaded BHLDN gown and the modern, black and gold decor with pops of pink, this Parker Palm Springs wedding by Celebrations of Joy Events created a unique vibe that we really dig. Unexpected florals and palm leaf accessories completed the fun, chic look. See the whole day, captured by Mi Belle Photograpers, in the Vault.

From the Bride… Rob and I met in November 2013, and by the following summer, we were living together and embarking on numerous adventurous including international trips! In September 2016, Rob planned a big trip with both of our families to a football game at the University of Michigan – he’s an alum and a massive fan! Before the game, in a moment with all our family watching, Rob made a huge speech. He handed me a T-shirt for the game that said “Michigan Girlfriend”. Rob then told me to turn the shirt around; it read “Michigan Fiancee” on the reverse. He got down on one knee and proposed.

We choose The Parker Palm Springs for its funky, chic, and elegant vibe. It embodies all of the things we love: fun cocktails, outdoors, uniqueness, amazing design, and sunny palm trees. For the look and style of the wedding, I wanted a lot of black and gold, modern elements. I knew we needed an amazing pop of color and decided on hot pink. We incorporated palms as centerpieces and table runners as a nod to the beautiful setting and to add some greenery. I pinned a lot of unique flowers and arrangements – our amazing florist, Luna, really understood my vision and helped it come together!

Cathy and Dorry of COJ Events had great ideas, and it was ultimately a team effort bringing the vision together. For our printed materials, we chose a white and gold foil dot card for the Save the Dates. We followed the theme with the invites, menu cards, and table assignments. We incorporated a deep black into the invites as well. Haley from COJ Events created big signs for each venue (ceremony, reception, and cocktail) named after favorite bands and songs. For example, the ceremony was The Doors, “Hello I love You.” Each table at the wedding was also named after one of our favorite music artists! We sat at The Prince Table.

My wedding dress was from BHLDN. I knew I did not want a traditional wedding dress. The dress was ombre blush was a tule material and covered in intricate beads. Trying on dresses was one of the best parts of the wedding planning process! When I put this one on, my mom and friends were gasping. It was different, and we knew it was the one! I had a headpiece from BHLDN, simple earrings, and – of course – my rings. My shoes were from Nordstrom.

We had so many special moments on our wedding day. My dad, stepdad, and mom all walked me down different parts of the aisle. My mom was the last person, bringing me to Rob. One of our favorite moments (there are many) were the speeches given by our best friends (Best Men and Matrons of Honor). They were amazingly thought out, touching, and perfect.

A Breathtaking Engagement Session on an Overcast Day at Cliffs of Moher

There are no words to capture the breathtaking scene that is this engagement session by Christine Clark Photography. From the raw, rugged beauty of the Cliffs of Moher and the ethereal, overcast day to the gorgeous couple and their relaxed, romantic sense of style, every image in this gallery is just WOW. I’ll let the photos speak for themselves…

From Christine Clark PhotographyClaire and Paddy’s engagement session took place on the beautiful west side of Ireland. We started out at an old castle ruin, where a lush tapestry of greens spread itself across worn stone. The quiet and luminous solitude of the place was calming in its abandoned beauty. After exploring the ruins and surrounding area, we headed out to the Cliffs of Moher, rugged and green with windswept waves crashing below. We wandered the cliffs, picking our way along the coastal path beneath us. Claire herself is a wonderful photographer in Ireland, and we had a brilliant time roaming the area. The weather held off just long enough for us to venture down the path, taking photos as we went along. It was a lovely day for photo adventures and exploration through the Irish countryside.

This Wedding Showcases the Beauty of the Couple’s Farm

When this couple planned their wedding, they knew they wanted to showcase their picturesque 14 acre farm, create a guest-centered experience, and incorporate a few St. Patrick’s Day inspired details (the groom’s favorite day and the day they were legally married). The rest they left up to Cassandre Snyder Events and Design, who created an unforgettable rustic, autumnal fête. See the beauty of the day, captured by Judith Rae Photography.

From the Bride… Frank and I first met online sometime in early 2015. I had just moved to New Jersey from Chicago. My sister-in-law actually created and wrote an online dating profile for me, and I kind of forgot about it until a cold day in March when I was snowed in with my new puppy. I logged on, and this guy had messaged me. We ended up texting back and forth for about six weeks until he asked if he could meet me. We made plans to meet on the train to spend time in a nearby town. Frank got on one stop before me, I found him, slid into the seat next to him, and we’ve been together ever since. That was April of 2015.

In January 2016, we decided to move in together. I was living with my dad, and Frank’s lease was almost up. We decided to buy a house together and ended up picking out this 14-acre farm in Hopewell Township. The house closing was going to be in April, and as the date got closer, I remember thinking to myself that I wanted to get married before the house closed, so we decided to get married. I recognize that’s not very romantic, but I don’t really care much for traditional romance. I’m very practical, and a grand romantic gesture would have embarrassed me. Having a reasonable conversation with the person I love about our future together is more romantic to me than anything else I could imagine.

The only downside to getting married, to me, was having to be a bride. I was not a girl who dreamed about my wedding – I was more like, “I want to marry this man, but I don’t want everyone to be looking at me.” However, I have a really big family and Frank has a lot of friends, so I knew we needed a proper fête. That’s why we decided to do a small elopement ceremony on Saint Patrick’s Day, which is Frank’s favorite day, and then have our big wedding six months after on September 17.

We had the best time at both our weddings! Doing our ceremony beforehand in a smaller venue was just what I needed – I was relaxed and happy. When our wedding in September rolled around, we incorporated some Saint Patrick’s Day themes from our previous event. Because I did not have a vision for my wedding, I hired someone with really great taste, gave her very broad idea of what we wanted, and she really created something more awesome than we ever could have imagined. She also happened to be really cool. We focused a lot on guest experience and wanted to showcase the property. It was beautiful, and I had so much fun since the pressure of “getting married” didn’t exist.

Frank still asks me if we can do it again. I totally get where he’s coming from, but I think two weddings is enough for one marriage.

From Cassandre Snyder Events and DesignIn planning and designing this wedding, I got to spend time really getting to know them. They aren’t “wedding” people, but Frank loves a great party. They both love music, and food was very important. Kelly stressed the fact that while she wasn’t a wedding person, she did love flowers. I hand selected every vendor for their wedding day knowing that they would “get it” – from photography to ice, every vendor fit their style perfectly.

Once Kelly and Frank decided to have the wedding at home, my wheels started spinning. Having a wedding on a farm could have gone rustic, but Kelly and Frank’s casual, organic style really shined through in every detail of their wedding. Friends and family thoroughly enjoyed themselves, and I couldn’t be more happy about the turnout. They hired me in January but wouldn’t be closing on their house until April. We started planning right away, but not seeing the space was a challenge. Once we were finally able to get in to see it, a lot of things had to change. Hills and slopes were a challenge for load-in/load-out, but hiring the best people made it all possible.

One of Kelly’s favorite stores is Anthroplogie, so I infused a lot of that anthro style in the flowers and design of things. Because the menu was created to be a fun, family-style lobster bake, we couldn’t place flowers on the table. Instead we opted for gorgeous glassware and hung the florals from the ceiling of the tent. Wild Stems perfectly captured my vision in the floral department – one meeting, no floral sample, yet she totally got what we wanted.

Kelly and Frank are also very fun people, so we wanted to add fun elements wherever we could. By adding balloons to the ceremony and balls to the pool, we let people know if they wanted to jump into the pool at any point, that would be totally fine. The chickens and cows also added to the fun! I can’t stress enough how much I love spending time getting to know my clients. It’s so important to me to get to know them to create a wedding that is authentically them.
