A Mediterranean-Inspired Wedding in Central Texas Bursting With Color

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]Pink, yellow, orange, white, green[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]Having already picked the Mediterranean for their honeymoon destination, Ali and Jay found inspiration in the region’s warm colors and bright florals as they planned their wedding. [/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]After recently moving to the Big Apple, Ali was browsing Hinge when she came across Jay. He sent her a cute note about her dachshund, Bentley, before a smooth segue into discussing her NYC bucket list (and offering to help her check off some to-dos!). Ali agreed, meeting Jay for a first date at an Italian restaurant in their neighborhood. After closing down the restaurant with a five-hour conversation, the rest is history! Jay popped the question a year later during a sunrise walk while on vacation in Costa Rica. After Ali’s enthusiastic “yes,” the pair celebrated their new engagement with a photoshoot and a private breakfast on the beach.[/field]

[field title=”Food & Drink”]While the newlyweds shared private vows after the ceremony, guests enjoyed cocktail hour on the patio with plush lounge areas and a custom floral-print bar serving margaritas and mules. As the sun went down, guests were treated to a gelato cart and an Italian coffee cart as a nod to Ali and Jay’s Mediterranean honeymoon. [/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]Set in front of the glass and stone façade of the greenhouse, the ceremony site burst with pink roses lining the aisle and trailing up an arch at the altar. Escort cards were arranged on a wall with flowers in bud vases for guests to take home. Inside the reception tent, greenery twined up poles and rained overhead with boho-style rattan chandeliers. Flowers in every shade of pink filled the tables, where place settings paired sage green napkins and gold-rimmed glass chargers for a clean and elegant look. [/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]The couple’s three-tier wedding cake featured impressionist-style icing art and sat in a meadow of flowers throughout the reception.[/field]

Understated Luxury With “Wild” Charm at Tonnara Di Scopello in Sicily

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]For the colour palette we use colours inspired by the hues’ of the sicilian landscape, in yellow, oliva green and white.[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

The wedding design embodied understated luxury with a natural, “wild” charm. Seasonal Sicilian wildflowers, arranged in an unstructured yet refined style, brought the vibrancy of the local countryside to life. This organic aesthetic, paired with great live music and DJ set the tone for the day.

[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]The couple were engaged in the Alps on a ski trip, as mountains had always been a very important symbol for them both. Peter proposed over breakfast in their hotel room on Francesca’s birthday, mirroring that her father had proposed to her mother on her mother’s birthday also. That and Peter wanted to avoid buying a birthday present![/field]

[field title=”Bridesmaid Dresses”]Net a Porter. The bridesmaids dresses were all unique as the bride wanted the bridesmaids to look and feel however they felt best, and as such they all came from different vendors, but shared a yellow colour. That freedom to chose reflected the laid back atmosphere of the wedding [/field]
[field title=”Groomsman Attire”]Peter’s suit came from Suit Supply, and was pure linen in a mid olive green colour. His shoes were brown suede loafers & his cufflinks were a pair of Francesca’s father’s.The groomsmen, similarly to the bridesmaids, wore their own choice of suits for which the only guidance was colourful. [section title=”The Details”]
[field title=”Food & Drink”]The wedding menu was a celebration of authentic Italian cuisine, showcasing the flavors and ingredients of Sicily with a focus on simplicity and elegance.
First Course:
Guests enjoyed individually plated Italian-style portions. The highlight was orecchiette pasta with prawns, sea urchin, and courgettes, offering a delicate balance of fresh seafood and seasonal produce.
Second Course:
The main dish featured a single option, prepared and plated with Sicilian simplicity. Guests savored local white fish, drizzled with olive oil and lightly seasoned with salt, letting the quality of the ingredients shine. Sides were served family-style to encourage sharing and conversation. The selection included a refreshing rocket and small leaf salad with baby tomatoes and a serving of tender, cooked courgettes.
Alternative Menu:
A vegetarian alternative, pasta alla norma, featuring a rich tomato sauce with eggplant and ricotta, was also served. Both options were plated and served by the catering team for a polished presentation. Followed by a beautifully crafted vegetable timbale, layered with cheese fondue on a potato base, provided a hearty and flavorful alternative.
[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]Florals and Décor: The wedding decor captured the untamed beauty of Sicily, blending natural elements with subtle elegance. The florals featured a “wild” and organic aesthetic, highlighting local and seasonal Sicilian wildflowers such as mimosa, poppies, irises, and other native blooms. This selection brought vibrant color and authenticity to the design, creating an atmosphere deeply connected to the island’s landscapes.
Adding a touch of playful charm, mini cacti were incorporated into the arrangements, enhancing the natural vibe and offering a nod to Sicily’s unique flora. Medium-sized yellow silk ribbons flowed gracefully from the floral displays, introducing a soft and romantic movement that balanced the rustic elements.
The combination of vibrant wildflowers, delicate ribbons, and natural textures created a decor scheme that felt effortlessly sophisticated, celebrating the beauty of Sicily in every detail.
[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]Wedding Cake: The couple chose to forgo a traditional wedding cake, embracing a uniquely Sicilian dessert experience instead. Guests delighted in a variety of artisanal gelato with flavors like pistachio, nuts, and caffè, alongside freshly prepared Sicilian cannoli from a live station. A selection of semifreddo, including almond, lemon, cassata, and hazelnut. To round off the evening, coffee and amaro were served, providing a perfect conclusion to this indulgent and locally inspired feast.
[/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]Francesca and Peter’s ceremony was a heartfelt celebration infused with joyful music and personal touches. Guests were welcomed with the lively tune of Tu Vuo’ Fa’ L’Americano setting an upbeat and vibrant tone.
The procession began with the flower girl, page boys, and bridesmaids walking down the aisle to the romantic melody of Che Vuole Questa Musica Stasera by Armando Trovajolli. As anticipation built, Francesca made her stunning entrance to the soulful rendition of Somewhere Over the Rainbow by Israel Kamakawiwo’ole, creating a magical and emotional moment.
Jack Wakefield opened the ceremony with a heartfelt welcome speech followed by a reading by Carol Rawlence named “Marry your best friend” (Anonymous author). The vows, exchanged between Francesca and Peter under Jack’s guidance, were a beautiful reflection of their love and commitment. Theo Rawlence, the page boy, presented the rings, leading to the eagerly awaited “kiss the bride” moment.
The ceremony concluded on a high note with the couple’s exit to the cheerful and celebratory tune of Make Me Smile by Steve Harley and Cockney Rebel, leaving everyone in high spirits as they began the festivities.

Modern Yet Ageless Design at This New England Summer Wedding

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]The anchor colors of Mia and Jeff’s wedding were white and black. The couple purposefully chose an elegant and timeless palette that would complement and be cohesive with the aesthetic of their venue, Avenir.[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]Mia and Jeff approached their wedding with effortless poise. When considering the overall aesthetic of their day, Mia and Jeff wanted their celebration to be modern yet ageless. They knew that they desired a more relaxed vibe but wanted to maintain a refined overall style. [/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]Jeff proposed to Mia on Christmas Eve. They spent the afternoon with Jeff’s family to have dinner. Following the meal, Jeff wanted to open gifts. He presented Mia with a small box and immediately became visibly nervous. She asked him if he was okay even though she knew what was going to come next. Shortly thereafter, Jeff was on one knee and asked Mia to marry him. [/field]

Prior to her bridal appointment at VOWS Bridal in Watertown, Massachusetts, Mia went to the shop’s website and scrolled through the dresses. It was love at first sight. She adored the beading on it and how it was simple but with a bit of a wow factor.[/field]

[section title=”The Details”]
[field title=”Food & Drink”]Mia and Jeff had three signature cocktails all lovingly named after their pets. Their cats had two signature cocktails– the “Cal Collins” was a vodka, lemon juice, simple syrup with club soda and the “Jordy Mule” was a vodka, ginger beer and lime juice cocktail. They also had a rum and coke called “Joe and Coke” named after their dog Joey. For dessert, the couple had a scrumptious donut bar that guests did not hesitate to enjoy![/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]The florals from Yanique Events brought Mia and Jeff’s vision together perfectly. The white roses, white hydrangea and plush greenery really tied in all the other classic and timeless elements of their day. Mia’s bouquet was a beautiful arrangement of white roses and the ceremony arch was adorned with matching blossoms and greenery on each side of the arch, as well as boxed white floral bouquets lining the top and bottom of the aisle. Clean, modern floral designs continued into the reception. Each table consisted of raised, semi structured white floral displays surrounded by romantic bud vases and votive candles. [/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]Mia and Jeff opted for a simple, single tier vanilla cake by Cake Monstah. It was decorated with white roses and a topper reflecting their married name, The Stoddard’s.[/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”][/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]Mia and Jeff were accompanied by their dog, Joey, who wore his very own tux! Joey was originally from El Paso and was a rescue from MSPCA. They adopted him a year and a half ago and he will be 3 in November. He is mixed breed consisting of mostly Chow Chow and Pit.[/field]

This Fall Wedding at Greengate Ranch & Vineyard Combined Jewel & Earthy Tones

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]We knew we wanted a fall wedding, so wanted the colors to reflect fall vibes – wanted jewel tones mixed with earthy tones (plums, burnt orange, mixed with a lot of greenery).[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]We wanted the vibe to feel like Elevated California — the ceremony needed to be outdoor, and we wanted a venue that would allow us to not have to leave, but feel like we were in a new place for each event.[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]We met like any other modern love story, a swipe to the right :)

We met in NYC, and then after several years of what felt like a “long distance relationship (Upper East Side all the way to Williamsburg) — we moved back to Rob’s hometown of Chicago. After several years in Chicago, the day finally came! Rob proposed in front of the trees that his family planted for his mother who passed away when he was younger, and she was watching over us as I said “YES!” — after the proposal, we then went to a rooftop bar, where Rob had arranged all of our friends and family to come together for a surprise engagement party! [field title=”Wedding Gown”]My wedding dress was literally ME in a dress! Fun, flirty and a little unexpected! It was a high low (mini dress from the front, and a long train in the back). And the best part was… IT HAD POCKETS! I also added my “something blue” with the Royal Blue Manolo Blahnik heels (cuz hello, I was a girl living in New York just like Carrie Bradshaw). And for my jewelry, I had my “something borrowed” and wore my mom’s diamond pendant and she bought me my “something new” with a diamond tennis bracelet.[/field]
[field title=”Bridesmaid Dresses”]I wanted each girl to be in something that they felt comfortable in, so they got to pick whatever style they wanted. Requirements: all in something different, and all floor length. We mixed them up to divide them up in 2 different colors, while my MOH was the standout in a gold floor length gown as she was the only girl that was standing up with me during the ceremony.[/field]
[field title=”Groomsman Attire”]Rob, unlike most grooms, was VERY involved! What he wore throughout the entire wedding weekend was important to him! He had a custom tuxedo made that was a dark olive green with a custom green print on the interior. He also added elements to honor his Mom by embroidering her initials on the inside and his initials on the inside of his collar.[/field]

[board_carousel title=”Cocktail Hour”]

[/board_carousel]
[section title=”The Details”]
[field title=”Food & Drink”]The food was very important to both of us — we wanted the meal for the Reception to be served as family style, to where it feels like the entire table is coming together for dinner like we would at home — we served 2 proteins (chicken & salmon) and had all the sides to fill the plate and make it a beautiful colorful meal mixed with veggies that brought together the fall vibe and season — I am obsessed with Sauvigon Blanc, so had the wine flowing at all the tables, as well as our signature cocktails for those that were ready to party!
[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]THE SHOWSTOPPER of the entire weekend! The fall colors that brought everything together and the greenery draped around the pillars of the Stables to bring outdoors, indoors! We got endless compliments about the flowers for weeks following the wedding!

Requirement for the ceremony was that it had to be outdoors, and short and sweet! // We wanted the Reception to be an Elevated Glam, and to bring the outside, inside. We also knew that we wanted one VERY LONG head table where we were surrounded by all of our closest friends and family — one long table with about 50 people & it was PERFECT!

The Seating Chart — This was an ode to Rob’s mom who had passed away and we were engaged at the tree planted in honor of her much like the scaled down trees on the seating chart looked.[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]We had a small cake made for us to cut for “the tradition”, but a full dessert bar with all sorts of sweets to satisfy any sweet tooth! Cake pops, brownies, churros, cookies, mini cupcakes, etc — and to top it off a CANDY BAR for everyone to take a little sweet treat home with them![/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]We wrote our own vows where we were able to tell each other how much we love each other in a fun, sweet & humorous way // Music was Rob’s world! He curated every song based on the moment in which it happened (a song for him to walk down the aisle, a song for our bridal party, a song for me and my dad, & a song for us leaving the ceremony) // Reception we knew we wanted a live band! All the classic wedding songs & our band was INSANE!!! They crushed it!!! Wouldn’t have changed a thing (except for maybe it would have lasted all night long!)[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]Son/Step Mother First Dance — this was a moment that we will cherish forever! A moment to honor Rob’s Mom, and a chance for him to bring his sisters up to the dance floor for the 4 of them to dance together and honor his mom — not a dry eye in the house![/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]The Reception Space — I couldn’t have imagined this space any better even in my wildest dreams! Every detail came together so perfectly, that walking into the Stables and seeing the space for the first time is a moment I will never forget! #fullbodychills[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #3″]The Bridal Party Entrance — A last minute decision to Amazon 100 glow sticks to the venue was the best decision we could have made! The way that they lit up the space with the lights turned down, and the fun we had with our Bridal Party as we danced our way into the space came to life better than we could have imagined! Not to mention how funny it was to see us standing all together before we came in, and just seeing a bunch of glow sticks dancing in the dark! LOL[/field]

Love & Lemons: An Enchanting Villa Grabau Wedding in Tuscany

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]

The enchanting wedding took place at Villa Grabau, a stunning venue known for its lush gardens and historic charm. Nestled in the heart of this Italian villa is the limonaia, a breathtaking lemon grove that exudes timeless elegance. For their Western-style ceremony, the couple chose a blooming garden theme that perfectly complemented the villa’s natural beauty. Guests were welcomed into a dreamy scene, where pastel petals and soft, fresh greenery created a harmonious symphony of color. The couple’s choice of delicate white flowers added a refined, classic touch to the surroundings, standing out against the vibrant greens of the lemon trees. Every corner of the garden felt alive with romantic energy, from the cascading floral arrangements to the carefully placed blooms lining the ceremony aisle. Villa Grabau’s iconic gardens, paired with this thoughtful floral design, provided the perfect setting for a truly unforgettable celebration of love.

A Sunrise-Inspired Wedding at Villa Balbiano on Lake Como

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]purples, rich violets, coral, and lemon colors[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]The love story of Ferris and Diana begins with their Syrian heritage and the friendship of their families. Inspired by their romantic tradition of watching the sunrise together in the most beautiful places in the world, and fueled by their favorite jasmine scent and the beautiful transformation of their relationship from friendship to love, the concept of the wedding “Meeting the Sunrise” was born. White jasmine, tinted in the colors of dawn, was chosen as a touching symbol of the wedding.[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]Diana: In line with tradition, Ferris approached the proposal with a thoughtful nod to our shared Syrian culture. It’s customary for the man, accompanied by his family, to visit the woman’s family to seek their blessing before any official engagement. True to form, Ferris and his family came to mine to ask them for my hand in marriage.
After he had the okay, we started ring shopping. Ferris wasn’t convinced by my “dream” ring, which, at the time, was an emerald-cut solitaire. He encouraged me to go ring shopping with him to make sure that was the one. To my surprise, he was right. I tried it on and didn’t like it. After that, he made me try on every cut of ring until I found the one.
After about two months, he surprised me with the ring and a proposal. The timing of his proposal was perfect, just days before their second anniversary, turned out to be enough to throw me off. He told me we were grabbing brunch and that I needed to dress up. He picked out a black off-the-shoulder Anna October dress with a drop-waist. He chose the serene garden of the Georgetown Four Seasons for his proposal, a spot just blocks away from where we had our first date. As we approached the hotel, I was admiring the garden’s greenery and saying how perfect it would be to have a wedding there. Ferris chuckled, and that’s when I realized that the greenery I was admiring was actually the proposal setup that Ferris had organized. He got down on one knee under a beautiful floral arch and asked me the four words that would change our lives forever: “Will you marry me?” Overwhelmed with joy (and laughter because he was able to truly surprise me), I said yes!
I had never been so surprised and genuinely happy; it was so freeing and something that he always makes me feel when I am with him. A few moments later, our three sisters popped out to surprise us. He knows how much they mean to me and wanted them to be there to share the moment with us.[/field]

[section title=”The Fashion”]
[field title=”Wedding Gown”]My wedding dress journey was an exhaustive odyssey that spanned continents, from bridal studios in Washington D.C. to the fashion capitals of New York and Milan. Initially, the process seemed straightforward—after trying on just two dresses, I thought, “Why do people struggle with this?” But as the number of gowns I tried on climbed well over 100, the situation spiralled. The overwhelming variety led to confusion, compounded by the pressure from the U.S. wedding dress industry’s daunting lead times. In a moment of stress, I was even persuaded by a sales associate to purchase a dress that, upon reflection, was entirely wrong for me. It was a low point, leaving me burnt out and questioning my choices, especially with the wedding less than six months away and the advised dress-buying window closing fast.
Seeking clarity, I began visiting bridal salons alone. It was in this solitude that I discovered what I truly wanted in a dress – timeless elegance and classic bridal beauty. Anne Barge’s designs resonated with me, particularly the Filmore dress—a strapless ballgown in silk white jacquard fils coupe, with a dropped waist and pleated full skirt that screamed ‘bridal’ in every fiber. Its classic silhouette and the radiant fabric made me feel unequivocally like a bride. I added some extra length to it which I thought brought just the right touch of drama, marrying tradition with my personal style.
For the reception, my wedding dress shopping experience took a delightful turn. During a trip to Milan with Ferris for venue checks and tastings, my planners scheduled an appointment at the Antonio Riva atelier for me. The atelier, quintessentially Italian in its elegance and warmth, offered a stark contrast to my earlier experiences. There, the staff understood my desire for a dress that was as unique and forward-thinking as it was flattering. The dress they presented captured everything I envisioned—fashion-forward, unique, and utterly me. Unlike the prolonged (6-8 week) alterations process back home, they promised to have the dress ready within a month, and that I could finish alternations within one day the week before the wedding.
In the end, my wedding attire embodied the duality of my personality and style. Anne Barge allowed me to embody the classic, timeless bride I’d always dreamed of being, while Antonio Riva gave me the opportunity to showcase my love for unique, statement fashion. This journey taught me the importance of following my heart in dress selection, leading me to find not just one, but two perfect dresses that reflected every facet of my bridal vision. It was a testament to the idea that sometimes, you don’t have to choose between tradition and individuality—you can beautifully have both.[/field]
[field title=”Bridesmaid Dresses”]For my bridesmaids, Ferris and I were delighted to have our sisters by our side. In celebrating their unique personalities and styles, we chose not to limit them to a specific color scheme or dress style. Instead, we encouraged them to select outfits that reflected their individuality and the vibrancy they add to our lives.
Sally chose a stunning blue dress by Rachel Gilbert, which featured an elegant bow at the back, cascading into a long train—a detail that added a touch of drama and sophistication to her look.
Nadine opted for a captivating purple gown by Mac Duggal. This dress, beautifully crafted from luxurious tulle, showcased a sweetheart neckline, sleeveless design, and a corset bodice adorned with ruffled and tiered details, creating a silhouette that was both striking and elegant.
Sandra completed the trio with her choice of a pink gown with blue and purple hues, also from Mac Duggal—a Floral Cut Out Ruffle Tiered Gown. Her dress was a whimsical masterpiece made from floral chiffon fabric, featuring a summery cut-out bodice with covered button details and a voluminous skirt layered with airy ruffles.
Each dress brought a bright and joyful palette to the day, perfectly complementing the wedding’s aesthetic and allowing my bridesmaids to shine. Their outfits were a celebration of the color and joy they bring into our lives.[/field]

[section title=”The Details”]
[field title=”Food & Drink”]During our initial tasting, the menu selection was extensive but we chose cocktail hour foods that we believe were refreshing for a hot summer day. For dinner, we went with the quintessential Italian wedding menu, where only wine was served during dinner (no cocktails until the after party, which our guests loved!) with a three course menu that our caterer and wedding planners recommended.

The next day brunch food was a hit – there were different food stations scattered around the garden and guests loved exploring the different options while taking loads of pictures. The gelato cart was a popular photo spot.
[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]Aisle – white germini herberas
Bouquet – classic white roses
Reception & brunch – colorful flowers, variety

The dinner sparkled with vibrant shades reflecting the freshness of dawn: purples, rich violets, coral, and lemon colors symbolized the joy and anticipation of a new day. The theme of the Eastern royal garden adorned the ceremony space, playing with jasmine, the symbol of the Syrian capital, Damascus, and the beautiful legend that the Creator ran out of colors for jasmine flowers, causing this nocturnal bloom to await the dawn each morning to be painted in its hues.

The dinner for 200 guests took place under the Greenhouse tent. A mix of round and long rectangular tables optimized the space, divided by the tent’s metal stands. Gray-blue tablecloths served as a celestial backdrop, highlighting the vivid shades of the rising sun. The mirrored dance floor in the color of rose gold reflected the light from the chandeliers and harmonized with the color of the chairs.[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]Our wedding cake embodied Italian tradition. We opted for a classic Italian wedding cake, Millefoglie, we wanted to honor the rich culinary heritage of our venue’s location. This offered our guests an authentic taste of Italy, making the experience even more memorable and special. Our guests were blown away![/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]Our ceremony was a sacred exchange of vows that we wrote ourselves, promises that spoke of our past, present, and the infinite future. We both cried, including many in the crowd!
Readings – My Love by Linda Lee Elrod, read by our officiant Fabio (@comolakecelebrant)

We had a string quartet for the ceremony (quartetto_Effe). Our family walked down the aisle, first Ferris arrived by boat and was met with his mom at the top of the aisle, they entered together to the string quartet playing Blinding Lights by the Weeknd, then, my mom and Ferris’s father had an entrance to Somewhere Only we Know, then followed my two sisters, Sally and Sandra, with Ferris’s sister, Nadine, interlocking arms to Crazy in Love, and lastly, my father and I walked in to Can’t Help But Falling in Love. Then Diana and Ferris Kiss and exit to Viva La Vida. [/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]An unexpectedly humorous moment occurred as I was making my grand entrance from the villa to the aisle. Adorned in a beautiful gown with a stunning 12-foot (3-meter) long veil trailing behind me, I encountered a small hiccup. As I stepped outside the villa, my veil decided it had other plans and got caught in the doorway about 12 feet into my walk. All our guests were facing my father and I at this point and clapping. The sudden halt puzzled my father, who was by my side, unaware of the cause. He barely turned to me, still facing forward and said, “we’re stopping, are we supposed to stop?” I found myself caught between laughter and the inability to move, struggling to explain the situation to him. I told him, “I’m stuck.” We stood there, momentarily paused in our own little bubble, until someone finally noticed and came to our rescue. Though the guests were oblivious to this hiccup, it became a beautiful moment shared just between my father and me, filled with laughter and a touch of pre-ceremony excitement.[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]Another memorable moment came unexpectedly and beautifully in the midst of our ceremony. As the officiant shared heartfelt words, while Ferris and I were holding hands in front of him, a moment of spontaneous joy unfolded before us. A large ferry boat, bustling with tourists, glided by on the water directly in front of Villa Balbiano. To our surprise and delight, everyone aboard began cheering for us. It was a serendipitous interruption, one that reminded us of the beauty of unplanned moments. This sweet, unforeseen cheer from strangers not only added to the magic of our day but also underscored the idea that some of the most beautiful moments in life are those that simply happen, beyond the realm of meticulous planning.[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #3″]Another unforgettable experience was our post-ceremony escape on a classic Lake Como Riva boat. The boat, painted in a glamorous Tiffany blue, was the epitome of elegance and offered us a much-needed respite from the whirlwind of wedding activities. In the chaos leading up to the wedding, Ferris and I hadn’t had the chance to truly take in the beauty of Lake Como. As the boat glided over the water, the driver took us on a leisurely tour around the lake, allowing us to soak in the breath-taking views. Surrounded by the stunning scenery, Ferris and I could finally pause and revel in the moment, celebrating our union in the privacy and serenity of Lake Como’s enchanting waters. It was a deeply personal and joyful experience, allowing us to momentarily step away from the celebrations and simply enjoy being newlyweds in one of the most beautiful places on earth.[/field]

French Blue Summer Wedding at Goodstone Inn

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]Our primary color was a powder/french blue with peachy coral, blush, and ivory as accent colors.

We established a base color palette that featured blue and green hues, and found ways to add interest and warmth through earth-tones like taupe and ivory. Our floral partner, Nature Composed, helped us tie it all together with a beautifully imagined tent entry with overflowing baskets of grasses, toffee roses, and a myriad of hydrangeas. [/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]Our vision was to have an intimate wedding that felt elevated and classic, yet whimsical and unfussy. Someone said to me early in our planning that our venue “doesn’t need a lot of lipstick.” We stuck with that mindset and tried to play off the natural beauty of the surrounding landscape as much as possible.

Lauren and Alex of Lauren Bliss Events helped us achieve the look we wanted by bringing in color and texture in a way that felt natural and not overpowering. It was their creative genius that pushed us to use the existing structures of the space to showcase some elements of design. For instance, we hung our escort cards within the ivy vines of a stone wall near our cocktail hour.

There was a seamless flow to the evening as guests moved from a ceremony on one side of a towering, ivy-covered wall, through a gate to a cocktail hour surrounding a glistening pool on the other side. The reception took place under a sailcloth tent in a hayfield just a stone’s throw in the distance. We lucked out with the most beautiful early summer day. The sun set directly behind our tent as guests dined and danced all night to tunes from our favorite 90s cover band, White Ford Bronco.
[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]Derek suggested we go hiking one Saturday in Shenandoah National Park, which is a couple hour’s drive from where we live in DC. Because we had discussed the possibility of getting engaged, and because hiking wasn’t something we did often, I completely knew what was happening. Sure enough, at the top of the mountain, Derek got down on one knee and popped the question! But little did I know, this wasn’t the only surprise he had in store for us. Unbeknownst to me, Derek had planned a romantic weekend getaway in the Middleburg, Virginia area complete with post-hike celebratory drinks at Crimson Lane Vineyards, a dinner at the quaint Ashby Inn, and an overnight stay at the Salamander Resort & Spa. He had even packed us each an overnight bag and had them hidden in the trunk of the car. It was such a beautiful and fun weekend, we knew we wanted to return to the Middleburg area for our wedding.[/field]

[section title=”The Fashion”]
[field title=”Wedding Gown”]The bride wore a Anne Barge gown

“I knew I wanted something classic with a twist for my dress. A few months before getting engaged I had the opportunity to visit the Anne Barge Flagship store in New York City with my sister who was looking for a dress for her own wedding. The brand’s timeless and elegant styles immediately spoke to me. For my own dress shopping experience, I went to Elegance by Roya in Old Town Alexandria. I had seen a photo of the Anne Barge Confetti dress online and had a feeling it might be the one. It’s a strapless a-line silhouette with the 3D leaf embroidery from top to bottom. I didn’t even know if the store would have the style in stock, but thankfully they did because as soon as I tried it on I knew it was the one!

For my second look, I wanted something fun and less bridal but still elegant. I landed on an Etro jacquard mini dress. The garden trellis pattern reminded me of the lining of our invitation envelopes – a detail probably no one noticed but me!”
[/field]
[field title=”Bridesmaid Dresses”]I told my sister, who was my maid of honor and only bridesmaid, to wear whatever she wanted. She chose a strapless De Loreta dress in a paint-inspired floral print. The green and blue fabric complemented the colors of the wedding and surrounding landscape perfectly. [/field]
[field title=”Groomsman Attire”]Derek wore a traditional black tux from Ralph Lauren paired with sterling silver Scully & Scully cufflinks engraved with our wedding date and our initials.[/field]
[/section]

[/board_carousel]
[board_carousel title=”Cocktail Hour”]

[/board_carousel]
[section title=”The Details”]
[field title=”Food & Drink”]Our signature cocktails were a French 75 and a Whiskey Smash. During cocktail hour, guests enjoyed lamb skewers, mini quiches, and white fish rillettes, along with cheese and charcuterie. Dinner was a two-course meal where the standout starter was a creamy, green pea velouté. Seared salmon and beef tenderloin were served alongside in-season vegetables that came straight from the venue’s own farm and garden. The meals were paired with local Virginia wine. [/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]Our request for florals was that they not be overly-formal, overly-stuffed, or overly-dramatic. Jenn of Nature Composed nailed the look. She supplied stunning, colorful, in-season florals composed of delphiniums, roses, ranunculus and more. Her team incorporated an arching floral design into the ivy wall that stood behind Derek and me during our ceremony. It provided the perfect, natural frame for our photos. We were even able to repurpose some of the ceremony florals for our reception. We used lanterns, potted flowers, baskets, and greenery to create an inviting entrance to the tent. Each table received a mix of bud vases and larger arrangements, nestled among tapered candles and votives.

I knew I wanted a mix of patterns and color for linens. We alternated Broad Powder, a block print from Stradley Davidson with solid blue linens from Select Event Group, and then used contrasting napkins on each table. Honey brown rattan chargers brought texture and a natural element to the design.

I flexed my creative skills by taking on the task of creating all of our day-of paper and signage. With the help of a few Etsy templates, I made bar menus, personalized dinner menus, escort cards, and table numbers each in a whimsical, french-blue design. All of the paper elements were cohesive, yet not too matchy-matchy, which is exactly the look I wanted.
[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]We conducted our own, at-home competition for our cake tasting experience, trying the same four flavors from two local bakeries. The clear winner in all categories was local Arlington pastry shop, Heidelberg. Ultimately we landed on a classic carrot cake with cream cheese filling covered in a white buttercream. The cake had three tiers and was decorated with a simple swiss dot pattern.[/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”][/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]The most unique element of our wedding was by far our band. Instead of a traditional wedding band, we hired the famed 90s cover band, White Ford Bronco. We were both long-time fans of their music and had seen them play around DC, but didn’t know that they did weddings. A post on Reddit tipped us off to this fact, and we knew we had to reach out. It was fate when they told us June 8 was the only weekend they had open all summer! We even managed to find the perfect 90s ballads to do our first dances to, opting for “I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing” by Aerosmith for our first dance and “Kind and Generous” by Natalie Merchant for our parent dances. Our dance floor was packed all night, even the older generations couldn’t stay away. Everyone raved about the music for weeks after. 100/10 the best decision we made in all of wedding planning! [/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]Upon arrival at our various hotel blocks, guests received welcome bags full of snacks and treats from our favorite local and non-local businesses. The bags included cold brew coffee and draft lattes from La Colombe, bagel chips from Pearl’s, our favorite DC bagel place, chocolate chip cookies from Union Kitchen Grocery, and local Route 11 chips among other items. [/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #3″]We worked with Melissa of Sycamore Studios to design custom matchboxes. She was able to create a sketch of the ivy wall where we held our ceremony which was featured on one side of the box. The other side included our names and wedding date. We put the matchboxes in our welcome bags and also had them displayed in rattan baskets on each bar. [/field]

[field title=”Proposal Story”]Every Saturday morning I run to the farmers market with a True Crime podcast playing. One Saturday in June of 2023 Tyler popped out from behind a planter box mid-run and I almost pepper sprayed him I was so surprised. He immediately got down on one knee and I was so confused until I spotted a photographer sneaking pics. He was midway through the proposal speech before realizing I still had my AirPods in, True Crime podcast playing, and couldn’t hear a word he was saying. I said yes and we finished the run together. I was adamant about going into the same coffee shop I always stop at but he was dragging me to a brunch restaurant, where it turns out he had my whole family and his whole family, along with a few friends who flew in from out of town waiting to surprise me and celebrate with us. Having the proposal in the morning was so much fun because we were able to celebrate all day – after brunch we took everyone out on the water for a boat day and then finished with a huge group dinner at our favorite local Italian restaurant we’ve been going to since we were kids. [/field]

[field title=”Food & Drink”]Food/drink: loved having the family style food, our guests RAVED about Harvest Kitchen. Since it was so hot it was hard to make food choices that would compliment the climate. We’re big fans of spicy margaritas and espresso martinis, so made sure to have those on the menu which Villa Royale executed perfectly – they might have been too good! [/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]Didn’t want traditional wedding flowers and also needed to be mindful of the heat so we got creative with unusual stems.[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]originally I didn’t want a wedding cake since I used to make wedding cakes for other people in the past, but my mother insisted and she found Lila’s cakes, it was gorgeous and it also tasted incredible – we did 3 flavors, one per tier.I’m obsessed with ice cream so we hired Kreem to have an ice cream cart with a few flavors which was a huge hit on the dance floor & with the heat. Our caterer also surprised us with homemade Pop Tarts, Tylers favorite! His Pop Tart obsession is a running joke, with his friends mailing us hundreds of boxes of Pop Tarts in the months leading up to the wedding.[/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]we wanted to keep it super short & sweet! We did private vows earlier in the day (highly recommend) and then had one of our good long time friends do the officiating. I think he has now received an influx of officiating requests since he executed it so perfectly. He was able to make it personal and special while keeping it light hearted and fun, which was important to us. After the ceremony we walked back down the aisle to “You’re the one that I want” from Grease, Tylers favorite movie. [/field]

Bright, Colorful Wedding in Paradise at Moana Surfrider

[field title=”Wedding Colors”]

Pink, Orange, Yellow, & Green “As an artist, I have always been drawn to color, and I thought why would my wedding be any different?”

[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]Both the bride and groom grew up in Dallas, Texas, and met in their freshman year of high school. They became friends and went to their Senior Homecoming Prom together. Chandler and Brett had no idea at the time, but they would be getting married by their high school principal just a few years later!

The couple ultimately wanted their wedding to be a reflection of who they are and their relationship. The bright colors infused a playful, joyous spirit into the event, celebrating their love and a life in full color. We’re reminded that surprises are always around the corner!

The bride’s family had long considered Hawai’i and its sparkling shores a second home. After visiting the Moana Surfrider on one of their trips, the engaged couple knew the charming historic hotel was the perfect place to host their nuptials! Nestled amidst the hustle and bustle of the coastal city, the venue blended classic architecture with lush greenery and stunning ocean views.

The warmth of Hawaiian hospitality can be felt in the tropical custom details and timeless island setting. From the Hawaii theme welcome bags, to the locally inspired signature cocktails, guests were encouraged to embrace the spirit of Aloha and create an unforgettable experience for all!

A difficult feat, Chandler managed to keep the veil a surprise for her hubby to be, as she secretly hand painted it over the course of a few months prior to the wedding. “It was everything I could have envisioned – but truly a labor of love!! A Breathtaking Cathedral Wedding in San Miguel de Allende

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]Neutrals and gold![/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

Thanks to Penzi, we had the wedding of our dreams. Their effort and attention to detail made the day so special. I would describe our wedding as elegant and timeless. Our ceremony took place in the breathtaking Parroquia de San Miguel Arcangel, a stunning cathedral that set the perfect tone for our wedding. Our reception was held at Luna Escondida, a hidden gem that provided an intimate and enchanting atmosphere. Cocktail hour was hosted in Jardin Colibrí, a lush garden that resembled a real-life Monet painting. The florals, designed by FlorKlor, were absolutely beautiful and brought the space to life. White curtains hung around Salon Luna, adding to the intimate feel of the venue. The dance floor featured a hand-painted San Miguel heart, adding a personal and unique touch to the celebration.

[field title=”Proposal Story”]My now-husband showed me an invitation to a vow renewal ceremony for some close friends. The event was set to take place at Pretty Place, a chapel perched atop a mountain in South Carolina. As he handed me the invitation, my first question was, “What am I going to wear to this?” Without missing a beat, he picked up his phone and called his friend’s wife to ask about the dress code. She responded, “The ladies can wear white, and the men should wear dress pants and a button-down shirt.” After he hung up, I couldn’t help but wonder, “Why would the ladies wear white to a vow renewal ceremony?”

The day finally arrived for the vow renewal on the mountaintop. As I was getting ready, I began to have a gut feeling that he might propose. I quickly called my friend to share my suspicion. Before heading to Pretty Place, we made a quick stop at our favorite Italian restaurant, Jianna, in Downtown Greenville. Over dinner, I urged him to ask for the check because I was worried we’d be late for the ceremony. He assured me that we would make it on time, which only fueled my curiosity.

When we finally arrived at Pretty Place, I noticed the place was unusually empty, typically bustling with people enjoying the sunset. As we got out and walked down the aisle, I saw candles and white flowers adorning the space. At that moment, I realized I was right – it wasn’t a vow renewal ceremony; it was my proposal.[/field]

Maximalist Swan Lake Fairytale Wedding at University Club of Chicago

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]Pink, cream, and blush[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]Bella wanted her wedding to feel like a maximalist swan lake, Barbie dream wedding. She wanted as much floral as possible! She loved bows, pink, and elegant feminine details which came out in everything from the invitations to the signature drinks to the floral design![/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]From our bride herself: “Nick and I, technically, met on Hinge. However, we really met each other at The Green
Mill in Chicago. The Green Mill is an iconic and Classic Chicago Jazzy Cocktail bar. The
funny thing about having our first date there was that we found out you’re not really
supposed to be talking a lot when you’re there. You’re supposed to sit back and quietly
enjoy the live jazz. So, we did exactly that. We enjoyed live jazz together for hours and
whispered our questions to one another back and forth whenever the band took a
break. It was very romantic and honestly you can learn a lot about someone simply by
just being in the present moment with them.”[/field]

They finished the night with delicious lemon chiffon cake![/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]Bella had a vision of what she wanted her decor to feel like when guests walked into the room. It was inspired by her maximalist Barbie vision but it also had hints of vintage inspiration, too. Bella grew up loving Disney movies and her room felt like a ball room taken out of Beauty and the Beast. Atmosphere Events Group did a beautiful job of capturing the look and feel Bella wanted for her guests. They created the fullest, most beautiful archway for the couple to enjoy dinner in front of. ‘Hamptons Chic’ Wedding Inspiration Nancy Meyers Would Approve of at Naismith House

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”The Inspiration”]

Inspired by the lusciousness and simplicity of nature, Alex Baillie-David, owner of Baillie-David & Co., a wedding planning and design company, worked to create a design that felt as budding and colourful as a garden. From the locally-made beeswax candles and adorable seed packet favours to the wild butterfly place cards, each element was thoughtfully curated to create a sense of organic beauty. Alex Baillie-David of Baillie-David & Co. chose a soft pastel colour palette with a focus on elegant French blue and sunset peach, culminating in an aesthetic that falls somewhere between a classic English garden party and Hamptons chic. Even the hydrangea baskets, reminiscent of the iconic gardens of Nantucket, were chosen to mimic the harvest of freshly picked blooms. It was only fitting that the editorial be captured on film, as film photography captures the true essence of colour and texture.

[field title=”Florals & Decor”]With bouquets and arrangements that seemed as if they were freshly picked from a meadow, Wild Bloem Studios masterfully continued the garden-inspired theme into the floral design. The floral selection was the epitome of late spring abundance, featuring a harmonious blend of peach ranunculus, soft pink stock, Japanese anemones, buttery yellow roses, dusty blue hydrangea and delphinium, garden-fresh snapdragons, and locally foraged spirea. Each bloom was carefully chosen to create a whimsical yet elegant aesthetic, perfect for the romantic setting of the Naismith House.

To enhance the natural and organic feel, Wild Bloem Studios used handmade ceramic compotes for their arrangements. Complementing these were crystal-cut glass bud vases, which added a touch of refined English garden elegance. This combination of elements created a stunning visual effect, capturing the essence of a dreamy, timeless garden.

Wild Bloem Studios is deeply committed to sustainability, which is at the heart of their floral design practices. Proudly foam-free, they avoid using traditional floral foam, which is made from harmful chemicals like formaldehyde and contains microplastics that harm the environment. Instead, Wild Bloem Studios employs a mixture of chicken wire and OshunPouches as the mechanics for their floral arrangements. OshunPouches are 100% sustainable, biodegradable, and home-compostable, serving as an eco-friendly alternative to the floral foam.

Another way Wild Bloem Studios incorporates sustainable practices into their business is by using locally grown and in-season flowers for the majority of their designs. For this particular styled shoot, most of the florals were sourced from The Ottawa Flower Collective. This cooperative group comprises nine local flower farms in the Ottawa area, offering weekly shopping time slots to ensure florists have access to the best in-season blooms. This practice not only supports local farmers but also ensures the freshest and most vibrant flowers are used in every arrangement.

About Wild Bloem Studios

Wild Bloem Studios specializes in creating bespoke floral designs that capture the beauty of nature. Known for their loose and airy arrangements that evoke the feel of a wild, blooming garden, they bring a touch of natural elegance to every event. Their commitment to sustainability and using locally sourced, in-season flowers sets them apart, making each of their creations not only beautiful but also environmentally conscious.
[/field]
[field title=”Favorite Design Element”]One of our favourite design elements was pairing the blossom linens with the organic textures of the natural beeswax candles. It really draws in those earthy spring tones and textures. Establishing healthy thought patterns regarding sustainability, sourcing locally and ethically is something of beauty. Bringing the community together to create a stunning event without a large footprint is something we should all keep in mind. [/field]

A Lush Escape – 4 Days of Luxury Events Made for One Epic Wedding Weekend in Phuket

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]We always envisioned the backdrop of our wedding to be really lush and green and consisting of colors typically found in nature. But we also wanted some elements to really pop against the natural greenery so we chose shades of pink to be the color to stand out with shades of cream to be a transitory color.

We think the colors we chose fit in perfectly with the venue environment while also still providing a unique and interesting element with the bright pinks. It also just made us feel uplifted and happy.
[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]Our overall theme and vision for our wedding was actually to feel less like a wedding and more like an exclusive event (i.e. designer trunk show, premier, etc.) you got invited to while you’re on a tropical vacation.

All of our wedding events combined brought our whole vision and theme to life. We had 4 wedding events planned: 1) Welcome dinner, 2) Boat cruise, 3) Wedding ceremony/reception, 4) Farewell lunch.

The welcome dinner was held at Black Ginger restaurant in The Slate hotel. Black Ginger was the ideal setting for our welcome dinner. The entrance was so grand, someone pulled you across on a raft, we knew it was the perfect place to kick off our wedding celebrations to give that wow factor. We had welcome bags prepared for all of our guests filled with Thai snacks, emergency kit, and a schedule of events. We had a live band playing which created such a great atmosphere for our guests to talk and mingle. The food was amazing, we had selected the Black Ginger signature tasting menu which gave our guests a 4-course tasting of 10 different dishes. We knew we wanted something that would set the tone for the rest of the week and Black Ginger was absolutely perfect.

Boat cruise: We chartered two boats from Yacht Charters Phuket for an additional wedding event we hosted to take us on an island tour with our primary destination being James Bond Island. One boat was the “party boat”, a 111ft catamaran where we had 50 guests aboard and the second was our “family boat”, a 63ft yacht where we had 10 family members aboard. We went to Hong Island and did kayaking, took pictures on James Bond Island, and swam at Khai Island and Naka Island. We had Tichakorn aboard the party boat to take videos. This was one of our favorite events of our wedding week. We had planned it mostly because we had so many of our friends/family traveling from so far and many were only staying for the week so we wanted to give them a sightseeing/touring opportunity they might not have been able to do on their own. It was our main opportunity to just relax and hang out with our friends.

Wedding day: We think our venue (RV8 at Trisara), the service, and our decorations were the key elements that brought this vision to life. We’re almost certain we had a 3:1 ratio between the staff and guests on our wedding day. The service from all of our vendors made everyone feel like they were famous celebrities. Our venue was also so unique in so many ways. Not only was it one of the craziest places we’ve ever stayed at, but the views and the attention to detail in every aspect of the venue was unlike anything any of our guests had seen or experienced before. While attending a wedding isn’t necessarily the most novel thing, our venue and the unparalleled service made it feel like that super exclusive event we were aiming for.

Farewell lunch: This event was held in the beautiful Jampa restaurant. Known for locally-grown ingredients , live fire, and zero waste cuisine, it was awarded a Michelin Green Star. Chef Rick Dingen curated a bbq buffet for us after we did a tasting with him. We had fresh vegetable and fruit juices to help with hangovers from the night before. It was a way for us to say our final goodbyes as people were departing for home or the next leg of their trip.

We love to travel so we wanted to share that experience with our loved ones. We’ve gone on some really epic trips together but have never gotten a chance to really share those experiences with others. Our wedding was the perfect outlet for us to essentially plan a giant, epic vacation.

Our planners nailed our vibe and design. Since we had never visited Thailand and couldn’t do a site visit before our actual wedding trip, we relied so heavily on the expertise of The Bridal Planner team. We literally could not have done it without them. They were the ones that guided us on every single venue decision and it was exactly what we had in our minds. They helped identify the absolute best vendors that matched our personality and vibe. They really helped make our wildest dreams a reality even beyond just our wedding day.

[field title=”Proposal Story”]Alfonso planned an epic 30th birthday trip to Dubai for Khulan, a place Khulan had always dreamed of visiting one day. The trip involved several incredible activities like visiting (and staying in!) the Burj Khalifa, diving in the world’s deepest indoor diving pool, swimming in a rooftop pool overlooking the Palm islands, and visiting the various souks. On the second to last day of the trip, Alfonso had organized a private sunrise hot air balloon ride and desert safari. Alfonso proposed as they were taking off from the ground in a private hot air balloon ride over the desert. Khulan technically never said “yes” because Alfonso was so nervous he never actually asked “Will you marry me?”. He had a giant sign created that some of the tour staff was holding down on the ground and could be seen from the balloon as we were taking off. Needless to say, the “yes” was implied by the happy tears, hugging, and kissing. It was the best way to end one adventure and start on another.

What’s also notable is that Alfonso researched and performed a traditional Mongolian engagement with Khulan’s parents without Khulan knowing at all. When a couple wishes to marry each other, the groom will visit the bride’s family with very close family or friends and present the bride’s father with a “hadag” (blue silk scarf), silver cup, and other gifts, asking acceptance of the bride’s parents. If the hadag and silver cup are accepted, the bride’s family agrees to the marriage. Alfonso visited Khulan’s parents with his best man, Alec, to ask for Khulan’s hand in marriage.

[field title=”Wedding Gown”]I had 2 western wedding gowns and 1 traditional Mongolian deel.

I was really torn from the start on what I wanted for my western wedding gown. One part of me loved the idea of a really simple, classic, and clean white wedding gown while the other part of me wanted something really sparkly and different. I initially started off thinking I would only get one dress but it didn’t quite end up that way.

I ultimately made the decision when I ended up finding the gown I wore for the reception first. When I tried it on I knew I had to have it. It was so “me” in so many ways.

But thinking about it more, the dress didn’t feel exactly right for the ceremony. Alfonso is much more traditional and he was going for a really classic tuxedo for the wedding day so getting a slightly more traditional ceremony gown felt right. I ended up finding a beautiful, clean, white wedding gown but it didn’t feel completely genuinely “me”. After trying out a few different things, I ended up finding a cape from another designer that was perfect. It gave me the “unique” element I was craving (even though I tried to go traditional) and it acted as my veil since I couldn’t really make a traditional veil work with my short pixie cut.

For the traditional Mongolian deel, Alfonso and I worked super closely with my family to create custom matching deels. Mongolian deels can be made to be super intricate and over the top but you traditionally only see these in theater productions or movies or they were worn by royalty in ancient times. Rather than go for this, we opted to go for something more simple and truer to the types of deels that people still wear regularly even today in Mongolia. We went with a lighter color to fit in with the tropical environment a bit more and picked a fine cotton fabric with a light shine to it.

Ceremony gown: Leilani by Jimme Huang
Ceremony cape: Farrah by Erin Cole (cape only)
Ceremony headpiece: Pearl and Rhinestone 3-band headpiece
Ceremony shoes: Mach & Mach Crystal Double Bow Pointed Toe Pump in Silver
Mongolian ceremony deel: Custom made in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia
Reception gown: Customized Bling X by Galia Lahav
Reception shoes: Loeffler Randall Camellia Bow Sandals in Champagne

Khulan got Alfonso a Cartier Santos De Cartier watch as a wedding gift. Alfonso isn’t much of an accessory wearer so this was the first major timepiece he would have. There were so many options but ultimately I decided to go with an option that was cleaner and classic so he could wear it both for everyday and for special occasions. Funny enough, he had also gotten a Cartier piece for Khulan’s wedding gift (he got a gold Cartier Love Bracelet).

Alfonso has a really classic style and he wanted something timeless and classic for the wedding. We think it complemented both of my wedding gowns (ceremony and reception). With my ceremony gown, it was a really classic bride and groom look. With my reception gown, his tuxedo complemented it perfectly to go with our overall theme of an “exclusive gala”.

Suit: Emporio Armani Super 130s tuxedo (Black)
Shoes: Christian Louboutin Cortez Patent Leather Oxford (Black)
Watch: Cartier Santos De Cartier (wedding gift from Khulan engraved with our wedding date)
Studs: David Yurman Streamline Cushion Shirt Studs
Cufflinks: David Yurman Exotic Stone Cufflinks
Mongolian Deel: Custom made in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia

Our engagement ring and wedding rings
Khulan’s wedding bands: Custom Tiffany & Co. “Forever” platinum band with 5 diamonds made for The Landmark store and a plain Tiffany & Co. “Forever” platinum band with no diamonds to be a spacer ring between the wedding band and engagement ring. The diamonds in my wedding band had a high setting so I needed a small amount of space between the band and the engagement ring.

Alfonso’s wedding band: Tiffany & Co. “Forever” plain platinum band.

Alfonso and I have lived in Jersey City next to NYC for several years and we both absolutely love NYC. To us, it’s the greatest city in the world. It felt really fitting and super iconic to get our wedding bands from The Landmark Tiffany & Co store.

[field title=”Bridesmaid Dresses”]The bridesmaid dresses are selected by the bridesmaids themselves. We decided to go with mismatched, floor-length bridesmaid dresses/jumpsuits with each bridesmaid choosing a distinct, vibrant/bold color. Each bridesmaid selected the color of their choice and the style. We wanted our friends to choose an outfit that they felt the most beautiful and comfortable in rather than conforming to a more traditional choice (aligning closely to our theme of “less wedding”). The mismatching kind of happened really naturally since everyone had their own unique style and vision.[/field]
[field title=”Groomsman Attire”]The groomsmen’s attires are Tan linen suits, selected by each groomsman. Similar to the bridesmaid dresses, we had our groomsmen select the exact shade, style, brand, material, etc. of their suits. We wanted them to be comfortable and choose something they would ideally wear again for other events. Since the bridesmaid dresses were bright, vibrant colors, we decided to keep the groomsmen suits a more neutral tone so it would keep.

[field title=”Food & Drink”]Since we did our wedding abroad in Phuket, Thailand and all of our guests were traveling from outside the country we wanted to keep our menu local to Thai cuisine. During our wedding day we had the majority of Thai dishes from Por Pia Thod to Tom Kha Gai to a live Phad Thai Station. Our signature drinks were Mai Thai and Piña Colada. The food and drinks were absolutely amazing. Plates, glasses, and tables were always full with a huge variety of dishes/drinks from the welcome all the way to our after party snacks. And our favorite dish was the live station Phad Thai.[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]The flower team was spot on with our arrangements! It was the perfect color ratio we wanted with the bright and light pink roses. It was perfectly positioned as an accent and didn’t overpower the rest of the decorations and natural beauty of the venue.[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]Our wedding cake was designed by Anthony Reynolds, our wedding cake had four different flavors.
Top tier – chocolate sponge with vanilla infusion, peanut buttercream 2nd tier – banana, chocolate chip with lemon buttercream 3rd tier – Victoria sponge, strawberry infusion, strawberry buttercream, crushed meringues Bottom – vanilla sponge, hazelnut monin infusion, Nutella buttercream.

We loved all of the flavors but our absolute favorite was the bottom tier. It was so light yet creamy and moist.

We envisioned a wedding cake that was simple yet elegant, and Chef Anthony brought it to life perfectly from the picture we sent. The cake beautifully complemented our wedding’s grand, yet understated theme.

[/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]Bride walk in: Next to Me by Rufus du Sol. We both love Rufus du Sol so much and the lyrics of Next to Me are so romantic and pure love. We also both love house / alternative dance music and this song provided the most perfect balance and something really unique to create an atmosphere filled with emotion and love.

Ceremony walk out: My universe – Galantis Remix by Coldplay, BTS, Galantis. The lyrics just felt so perfect for the occasion. Listening to it on the day of right after our first kiss, it felt so accurate, we were each other universe.

Mongolian ceremony: Mongolian Melody by Morin Khuur Ensemble of Mongolia. Khulan’s dad actually selected this song. When we listened to it, we were moved by the instrumentals and it would fit the event perfectly. It was so traditionally Mongolian as the artist plays the traditional morin khuur (string instrument).

Reception entrance: I’m Good (Blue) by David Guetta, Bebe Rexha. An epic song for an epic moment. The song just makes us want to dance and celebrate. It uplifts and hypes up anyone listening to it. And the lyrics were so accurate in the moment “…baby I’m going to have the best f**ng night of my life…”

First dance: The Veldt Cinema – BYNX Edit by deadmau5, Benny Benassi, Gary Go, BYNX. We just loved the lyrics of the original song. It was so romantic. And this specific remix was so different and unique and was at the right tempo for the kind of first dance choreography we created with our dance instructors.

Fireworks: Years by Alesso, Matthew Koma. The melody was so uplifting and the lyrics were like a look ahead to the future “…these will be the years…”

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]The main cultural tradition we incorporated into our wedding was the Mongolian Tea Ceremony held directly before dinner started. The ceremony itself is supposed to symbolize the union of two families and emulate what a couple would traditionally do when they have their first meal together in their new home. The ceremony starts by having the husband light a fire which the wife then uses to make traditional tea over. She then serves the tea to her husband’s family, her own family, and then her husband. The metal structure where the firepit was placed is called a “tulaga” which Alfonso and Khulan’s dad handmade together.

Being able to hold this ceremony in front of our guests meant so much to us. It gave us an opportunity to blend our cultures and share it with our closest friends and family. The ceremony itself was also very meaningful to us as it gave us an opportunity to show respect and honor to our immediate family who played a significant role in raising and shaping us to become who we are today.
[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]Our favorite moment from our wedding day was our reception entrance. We walked in with an epic song blasting with our friends and family on their feet cheering and looking like they were all having a great time. Alfonso accidentally kicked a sparkler on the way in but after a small adjustment, the sparklers went off and it made the whole entrance so unforgettable. We both remember just being so relaxed and just having fun without a single worry.

Also, guest experience was at the center of every decision we made. Our wedding was a once-in-a-lifetime moment where we could gather all of our closest friends and family into a single place. Plus it was a vacation for all of us! Every single one of our guests needed to travel to get to Phuket, Thailand with the majority attending from the other side of the world (US). It meant so much to us that all of these people were willing to spend so much time, money and effort just to be there with us so we wanted to give back as much as we could with our wedding. That’s why we spent a lot of our time organizing events outside of our actual wedding day (welcome dinner, boat cruise, farewell lunch) at a variety of different locations to help our guests maximize their time. This wasn’t just our wedding, it was also a vacation we were sharing with our friends and family.

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #3″]We must say not everything went exactly as planned but we wouldn’t have changed a single thing about our wedding. We would tell future couples to enjoy every single moment of the whole experience from planning all the way to the wedding day itself. We frequently talk about how much we could go back in time to do it all over again and how fast it all went by. It was truly a once in a lifetime experience to plan probably one of the largest parties we’ll ever host and be able to take such an amazing trip with our closest family and friends. It helps you appreciate how special the moment is when you realize this will likely be the only time you get the exact same group of people together in one place.

Our vision was a color filled day that would represent the joy we feel being together. We wanted to capture this beautifully in a natural setting with the vistas and rolling hills. California cool, meets sophisticated garden/vineyard with organic touches. The complete outdoor setting fit us well since we both find such peace in nature. Our vision came to life with designer/planner Nicole Alexandra Designs completely by our sides guiding us along the way. The overall design hit every note for us and completely exceeded all of our desires. Fairytale day from start to finish!

[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]Our first conversations lasted for many, many hours. There was instant chemistry between the two of us, it was a truly magical feeling getting to know one another. During our first “meet” we talked for so long, we were the only two left in the restaurant. It was clear that our life journeys and vision of the future were similar. Our first date was a visit to the Getty Villa in Malibu. It was here, as we strolled through the galleries and gardens that we fell in love. Every time we were together there was always laughter, good times and joy. One year later, during a beautiful dinner date, Jim proposed to Alina and Alina enthusiastically said “yes,YES”!

We knew that because of the magic of our first date, that we wanted to be married in Malibu. We wanted it to be outdoors, surrounded by nature and the love of our family and friends.[/field]

[field title=”Food & Drink”]All food & drink was provided by the Pausmith Group.

Guests were greeted with Champagne upon arrival to the ceremony. Followed by an open bar for cocktail Hour featuring the couples signature drinks – A cosmopolitan, and a Mango Ciapirinha.

For Dinner, to start guests were served Housemade Artisan Breads, grilled and brushed with olive oil, and served with herb butter.

The first course was a bright avocado citrus salad.

Followed by a choice of Slow Braised Beef Short Ribs, Vegan Lasagne, or Pan Seared Branzino for the main course. With sides of Pommes Puree, and Charred Brussels sprouts.

For a late night snack, guests were served everyone’s favourite food – Pizza! (and a play on the bride’s New York roots) [/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]The Bride and Groom wanted to create an elegant garden/vineyard vibe that was still modern and organic. Nicole Alexandra Designs worked with Tularosa Flowers to bring this vision to life. The main flowers used were peonies, garden roses and a splash of poppies to create a distinct uniqueness. The bride and groom mentioned that the design and florals ‘completely knocked their socks off!’

For the ceremony winding path of florals down the aisle lead to the show stopping floral arch at the end.

For the reception, tables were dressed with white embossed jacquard linens. Layered with scalloped ivory chargers, and a a garden inspired printed dinner plate, crystal glassware, lush floral centerpieces, and green taper candles. Menus and table signage by Swell Press carried through the floral/garden motif, as well as the color scheme – in greens and pinks/peaches.

Floral garlands with string lights hung above the tables, as well as the monogrammed dancefloor and created a wow moment for the guests. This achieved an intimate, cozy feel for the evening of dancing.
[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]The cake was created by Lila Cakeshop. The 4 tier cake was decorated with gorgeous peonies (the brides favourite flower). Each tier was a different flavour. Lemon Blueberry, Pistachio Rose, Lemon Honey Lavender, & Strawberry Shortcake. [/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]The officiant Chris Dickens @yourcustomceremony counseled the bride and groom with part of that including assigned “homework” to complete. Equal parts sweet, heartfelt and fun.

For music, songs were performed by Orchid Quartet.
the groom entered to a custom string version of All My Life by K-Ci & JoJo. The two bridesmaids walked to ‘XO’ by Beyonce, and the Bride to Jesu Joy of Mans Desiring.

The couples recessional was the Wedding March.

A Modern Twist on Tradition at the Charleston Gaillard Center

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]Liba and Myles wedding featured a vibrant color palette centered on the classic combination of blue and white. Liba wanted to incorporate a lot of color, texture and patterns in soft ways to enhance the whimsical vibe! These blue and white hues were complemented by playful pops of pink, green, yellow, and orange, infusing the celebration with a bright and fun springtime energy. The lively colors added a sense of joy and freshness to the event, perfectly capturing the couple’s modern fairytale wedding.[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]Liba and Myles wedding embraced a whimsical garden party feel, seamlessly blending the charm of traditional elegance with a modern twist, all while evoking subtle Bridgerton vibes. The theme was modernized traditional, with classic elements refreshed by contemporary touches reminiscent of the Regency-era glamour. Spring is the couples happy season! They set the wedding date exactly 12 years and 7 days from their high school dating anniversary. They wanted the wedding weekend to encapsulate the colorful, fun & fresh feeling of spring with classic, southern details. Liba focused on creating memorable guest experiences, incorporating thoughtful decor like custom paper goods that guests could take home as keepsakes. This attention to detail added a personal, intimate touch, making the celebration both a stylish and refined soiree.[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]Liba and Myles had been together for 12 years, often discussing marriage and their relationship over the years. Having started dating as young adults (18 and 20), they grew up together and became partners in life long before Myles popped the question. For them, tying the knot was about taking a moment amid their busy lives to celebrate their relationship with those who mean the most.

In typical Myles fashion, he began planning the proposal just a few weeks before it happened. After picking up the ring on a Wednesday, he secretly enlisted the help of Liba’s closest friends to plan the engagement for Saturday night, just three days later. With the support of their dearest friends, Myles managed to surprise Liba with a beautiful proposal in Old Town, Amelia Island, one of their favorite spots. He also organized a surprise engagement party at their home, gathering friends and family (some who traveled over six hours with just two days notice). Liba was completely shocked by the surprise and they celebrated with everyone, having the time of their lives.[/field]

Liba instantly fell in love with the floral pattern, pearl details, and bow that could be easily added to the back of the dress after the ceremony for a reception/transformation reveal. She purchased the gown from White Magnolia Bridal, making it a perfect choice for her special day. [/field]

[section title=”The Details”]
[field title=”Food & Drink”]Charleston is Liba and Myles favorite foodie city! For the welcome party and rehearsal dinner, they chose one of their favorite Italian eateries, Le Farfalle. Guests enjoyed classic pasta dishes paired with wine, along with passed desserts and specialty cocktails, including the featured espresso martini. For the reception, they curated a menu featuring their Lowcountry favorites, starting with specialty cocktails: his Bourbon Mule, her Hugo Spritz, and the Pug Paloma, named after their favorite little fur-baby. Cocktail hour featured charming passed champagne with bow details, alongside Lowcountry classic hors d’oeuvres like crab cakes and refreshing summer tastes like watermelon bites topped with balsamic caviar. Dinner included entree selections of blackened grouper or roasted beef tenderloin, with white and red wine pairings on the table to complement each choice. Late-night bites were a favorite, with passed French fry boxes in several varieties, served in custom boxes reading “Fry-nally married,” ensuring guests could enjoy a late-night snack while never leaving the dance floor![/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]Flowers played a central role in bringing Liba and Myles wedding vision to life. Liba worked closely with Charleston Flower Girl to create stunning floral arrangements that added an air of romance and elegance to the day. The ceremony featured a breathtaking floral arch composed of roses and spray roses in soft white, blush, and peach tones, beautifully accented with delicate baby’s breath. For the aisle and reception tables, a vibrant mix of daisies, delphiniums, hydrangeas, roses, and carnations created a lush, garden-like atmosphere, perfectly complementing the event’s modernized traditional theme. Liba’s favorite floral addition were the bridesmaid baskets! For decor, they aimed to infuse as much whimsy and color as possible by mixing patterns and textures. This vision led Liba and Myles to choose a variety of linens to mix and match, incorporate textured placemats, and feature playful details like butterfly and floral designs throughout their displays.[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]For the cake, Liba and Myles added a personal touch to their wedding by choosing Publix sheet cakes for their guests, ensuring everyone had a sweet treat to enjoy. For themselves, the couple opted for a special, personal cake from Le Farfalle, their favorite Italian restaurant in Charleston. This cake happens to be their favorite dessert, one they shared frequently on many visits to Le Farfalle. Liba and Myles spent so many dinners dreaming and discussing life while fighting over the last bite of their delicious chocolate cake. They knew they wanted to share this dessert on their wedding day and were thrilled when Le Farfalle agreed to make it. Myles enjoyed every minute of the cake cutting, stealing several extra bites before sharing the fork. [/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]During the ceremony and cocktail hour, the elegant sounds of Palmetto Strings filled the air, setting the perfect tone for Liba and Myles wedding day. The live performance added a timeless touch to the celebration, featuring classics and also mixes of fun renditions from todays hits. For their first dance, Liba and Myles swayed to the classic tune “At Last” by Etta James, a romantic choice that highlighted the joy and love they felt as they began their journey together as husband and wife.[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]One of the most special details of Liba and Myles wedding was the personalized escort board. In lieu of a traditional seating chart, they worked with Barnett Crafted & Luxe Design Co. to create a display featuring individual thank-you notes for each guest, paired with their escort cards. Liba and Myles took the time to handwrite each note, making sure every guest felt appreciated for being a part of their lives and for traveling to share in the special weekend. This heartfelt gesture not only guided guests to their seats but also added a deeply personal and memorable touch to the celebration, allowing them to reflect on cherished moments and adventures shared with their favorite people.[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]Liba and Myles also wanted to highlight their beloved fur-baby, Brooks. Although he couldn’t be there in person—it was an adults-only event, and he’s just a 7-year-old pug—his presence was felt throughout the celebration. Brooks was featured on the escort card display, the invitation suite, and the bar menu. One of the couple’s favorite touches was the custom “Brooks Bills” (the most valuable currency on the market!).[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #3″]As a tribute to her grandmother, a woman who embodied the grace and elegance of a traditional garden party hostess, the bride wore her grandmother’s emerald ring as her “something borrowed.” Though her grandmother could not be physically present, her spirit was felt throughout the weekend, and she was fondly remembered during every moment of the classic Southern celebration—a gathering she would have cherished deeply.[/field]

Dutch Masters Inspired Wedding at Wadsworth Mansion Complete With Rich Texture & Old-World Romance

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]Mustard, Navy, Maroon, Burnt Orange, Olive Green[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

Rebecca and Zach often love exploring the museums of New York City and were particularly drawn to Impressionist and Dutch Masters works of art. They intentionally added nods to this throughout their wedding day with saturated colors, rich textures, and old-world influence. The design, color palette, and florals paid homage to the artwork of those periods.

[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]Zach proposed on a lovely early spring walk (despite hailing earlier in the day, on Memorial Day Weekend!) through NYC’s Central Park Conservatory Garden with the couple’s dog, Rex. The couple’s friend, talented wedding photographer Rachel Leiner, hid in the nearby trees ready to capture the special moment.[/field]

[field title=”Bridesmaid Dresses”]In a nontraditional twist, the bridesmaids wore white gowns of different textures and silhouettes of their choice. [field title=”Groomsman Attire”]The groomsmen wore classic tuxedos from Men’s Wearhouse, and the groom wore a custom Navy with black accent tuxedo from Nita Fashions. For the reception, the groom changed into a custom Navy velvet dinner jacket, also from Nita Fashions. [/field]

[field title=”Food & Drink”]No detail was spared! Becca and Zach wanted their guests to feel intimate, warm and cozy on this cool November day, and their food choices we a perfect pairing with this. The cocktail hour featured passed hor dourves including a mini grilled cheese and corn dog, a carving station, and a mashed potato bar. Guests were treated to several signature cocktails paying homage to the couple’s beloved dog Rex, including a “Rex-Tini” (a dirty martini), a “Rex in the City” (a Manhattan) and a drink called “The Zoomies” (a classic espresso martini). Guests were served a plated dinner with their choice of entree. The meal was finished off with two dessert stations. They chose a Milk and Cookies station and a Pie Bar (including Apple Crumble, Zach’s all time favorite dessert!) with ice cream for their guests, in addition to plated petite treats and beautiful wedding cake.[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]Becca and Zach’s November wedding was a love letter to the deeply saturated colors and lush, romantic and delightfully unexpected details found in the paintings of the Dutch Masters. The florist, Kim, used exclusively locally grown dahlias, heirloom chrysanthemums, panicle hydrangeas, scoop scabiosa, late season cosmos and all manner of seasonal foliage grown by the incredible growers of the Connecticut Flower Collective @ctflowercollective to bring all of the depth of color, texture and shape that the couple wanted. With two separate dining rooms in the Wadsworth Mansion, we decided on two different but complimentary color palettes and themes – pomegranate and persimmon. These juicy colors all came together in Becca’s bouquet, mantle piece installations, large urn arrangements and in the plant-dyed silk ribbon from Silk and Willow @silkandwillow that adorned all of the personal flowers.
The ceremony was held outdoors beneath stately Norwegian spruce trees. Kim always likes to create a design that is of the time and place so the chuppah was made using different varieties of local evergreen branches including juniper, hemlock and of course, Norwegian spruce. The design brought the soaring height of the natural landscape down to a more intimate place and made Becca’s dream of marrying beneath the trees a reality. [/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]The couple wanted a classic vintage cake with cherries and Kim’s cottage confections delivered. The two tiered cake was made up of a mix of flavors — one tier was chocolate cake with coconut frosting, and the other was lemon cake with cream cheese frosting & a layer of raspberry jam. The cake was personalized a step further with an adorable cake topper of Lola holding Bugs Bunny.[/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]Music was an important way for Rebecca & Zach’s personalities and love story to shine on their big day — Zach and his groomsmen walked down the aisle to “Let’s Hear it for the Boy” by Deneise Williams, and Becca walked down the aisle to “Rhythm of Love” by Plain White T’s, which was the first topic of conversation Zach & Becca ever had way back in 9th grade. The couple’s first dance was to “Everlasting Love” by Carl Carlton, where they shared an upbeat choreographed dance that opened up the dance floor post-dinner.[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]Touches of the couple’s beloved dog Rex everywhere! This included Rex as a ringbearer during the ceremony, a custom crest for the couple complete with side-views of the couple’s dog Rex, with a little crown on top. This was used on the invitation suite, wedding website, and on paper goods like napkins used throughout the wedding day. As well as Rex in old-world attire on matchbooks, left for the guests to enjoy as favors.[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]Zach and Becca are very sentimental, and had touches throughout the day that nodded to their relationship as well as family ties. For example, Zach’s pocket square was custom made by Becca out of leftover fabric hemmed from her dress, the Tallit on their Chuppah was Becca’s late grandfathers, and as slow dances during the reception both Zach’s parents and Becca’s parents wedding songs played.[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #3″]A fine art inspired seating display made of post cards from The Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC, as well as a vintage sourced fine art book called “Lovers: 100 Works of Art Celebrating Romantic Love” by Mary Lawrence used a guest book for guests to share words of advice, love, and well wishes to the couple.[/field]

A Floral-Filled Autumn Wedding in Virginia’s Hunt Country at Tranquility Farm

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]Soft autumnal colors in a natural palette of neutrals and greenery and an ombre of oranges to muted coral and pinks. Honoring Taylor’s love for fall, the palette featured an array of autumn hues like terracotta and olive, but the scheme was lightened with pops of pink tones. [/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]Taylor has a great love for nature and everything equestrian, so choosing Tranquility Farm in the Virginia countryside as their venue was an easy choice. The couple wanted their wedding to serve as a gathering of their most cherished friends and family, while showcasing their unique style. While Taylor is inspired by rustic, bohemian charm, Jordan prefers a clean, modern French style, and their wedding design was the perfect blend of these two styles![/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]Despite wanting a beautiful, big wedding, Jordan and Taylor had their sights set on the bigger picture. Partway through the planning process, the couple realized that they didn’t want to wait any longer to start their life together as a married couple. They turned their engagement session into a spring elopement, with Taylor’s sister as the witness, underneath a cherry blossom tree. With a simple lace dress and textural spring bouquet, the couple’s intimate elopement centered on their dedication to one another. [field title=”Food & Drink”]The guests transitioned to cocktail hour, where one of the couple’s greatest shared interests was on full-display: coffee. An equestrian-trailer turned latte bar was an absolute hit in the crisp fall evening, and the guests were greeted by a show-stopping escort display that also served as personalized favors. The “Love is Brewing” escort display featured customized bags of the couple’s favorite blend, as well as the story behind this personal touch and the dog rescue donations made by it. An alcohol-free event, Taylor and Jordan took the opportunity to provide guests with a full menu of signature mocktail options. Guests also enjoyed a gorgeous, multi-course spread of autumn-inspired cuisine by Spilled Milk.
[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]A sailcloth tent hosted the reception space- a perfect fusion of the two styles. Stunning, lush floral arrangements by Holly Chapple created a show-stopping entrance and were carried throughout the reception design to bring color and life to the space. Geometric wooden shapes balanced with elegant, metallic-embellished tablescapes to elevate the design. A custom backdrop for the stage and wooden dessert display table created powerful focal elements and were softened with rattan chandeliers dripping in greenery. Pops of modern elements accentuated the space, like the lucite “gimme some sugar” sign on the dessert display.
[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]As part of a beautiful dessert display, the cake featured a surprise cameo from their beloved dog, Olive![/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]The ceremony was performed by Jordan’s dad, which made the day extra sentimental and meaningful. The couple shared their first dance to “Joy of my Life” by Chris Stapleton, and then guests danced the night away to the folk band.[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]Taylor and Jordan wanted to incorporate their dog Olive into the day as much as possible while maintaining an air of sophistication. She was not only present for much of the celebration, they found smaller ways to pay tribute to her in the design of their wedding— from the custom drink signs “olive you a latte,” to the olive branch wallpaper on the bars and band backdrop to the custom cocktail napkins and dog cake topper, their furry family member was celebrated alongside the couple themselves! [/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]Representing their appreciation for the friends and family present, Taylor’s bridesmaids bouquets were mono-floral, and when combined, each flower featured in the various bouquets made up the bridal bouquet. [/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #3″]Taylor has a great love for nature and everything equestrian, so choosing Tranquility Farm in the Virginia countryside as their venue was an easy choice. While Taylor is inspired by rustic, bohemian charm, Jordan prefers a clean, modern French style, and their wedding design was the perfect blend of these two styles! The couple wed on a hill overlooking the farm, surrounded by fall foliage and their loved ones. Rows of stunning florals flanked the aisles as the couple said “I do” in front of a triangular altar piece, which tied into both Taylor’s boho inspiration and their religious views.

How to Flawlessly Translate ‘Clean Girl’ Aesthetic to Your Wedding Design

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]We wanted to keep our wedding very clean and timeless looking, so we chose to
work with a simple color palette. We figured creams and whites would work
really well in the space, and it would be fun to incorporate pops of chartreuse in
the florals. The space felt warm and inviting and we think our color choices
played a big part in that.[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]Sparrow Lane has such a romantic feel about it; it’s elegant and elevated which is
what we wanted our wedding to be. The cobblestone pathway leading you to the
ceremony area outdoors and the massive floor to ceiling arched windows that
surround the entire reception area inside make it feel so enchanting. We felt it
was important to get married in a space that felt relaxing and very private and
our venue was exactly that. Seeing all of the vendors come together, and create
such a fanciful but modern space was a dream come true.[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]Sam proposed to me on July 29, 2023 at the Jasper Park Lodge in Alberta. That
morning, we decided to take our dog paddle boarding on Lac Beauvert. Our dog,
Frankie had never been swimming nor paddle boarding before, so we knew we
were in for a few laughs. We jumped into the freezing lake and laughed until our
stomachs ached. I had no idea he’d propose later that night because he had no
nervous energy throughout the day. As I was getting ready, he took the dog out
for a walk and called me shortly after asking if I could meet him by the same
lake… I walked over there, and that’s when he got down on one knee and popped
the question.[/field]

proteins for their main course. It was also a wonderful way to promote
conversations amongst guests.
• Salad
– Mixed greens with fresh berries, gouda cheese, candied walnuts and coconut
poppyseed dressing.
• Main Courses
– Roast chicken supremes in a warm lemon vinaigrette with tzatziki and warm
potato salad.
– Ginger beef short ribs with coconut rice and garnished with sweet pickled
carrots and pea shoots.
• Sides
– Roasted seasonal vegetables with honey and thyme.
– House-baked herb bread and butter.
• Sam’s signature cocktail was a nanaimo cream cold brew – it was made with
spiced rum, nanaimo cream, cold brew coffee, sweetener, and bitters. Cassidy’s
signature cocktail was a berry coconut mojito – it was made with strawberry and
blueberry vodka, coconut syrup, berries, soda, mint and lime.
• We had a dessert bar for our guests. We offered blondies, brownies, french
macarons, and cupcakes.[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]For the floral design, we wanted to keep everything very elegant in a white and
green palette, but took a unique approach to the classic by leaning into the
textures and tones of the blooms themselves with an emphasis on green blooms
rather than foliage. The florals were soft, romantic and elevated brining the room
to life in a subtle but impactful way. For maximum sustainability, we also
repurposed all of the ceremony arrangements in the reception space in a way

The cake was red velvet; it had high quality red cocoa powder and it was layered
with vanilla bean cream cheese buttercream and vanilla swiss buttercream. The
cake was very small, and only meant to serve my husband and I.[/field]

[field title=”Special Detail #1″]All of our signs and wedding stationery was created by Makari Design Co. We
wanted to keep everything well-balanced and symmetrical, so we chose to have
arched signs and stationery items to match the windows at Sparrow Lane.[/field]

Wedding Style Inspired by Claude Monet at Glen Manor House

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”The Inspiration”]

The editorial drew inspiration from the famous French impressionist artist, Claude Monet, known for his use of vibrant colors and his iconic paintings of water lilies and women with parasols.

[field title=”Wedding Colors”]The color palette of the editorial, featuring shades of blue and peach, beautifully reflected Monet’s palette. These soft, romantic hues created an ethereal and dreamy atmosphere, adding a touch of whimsy to the event. The wedding gowns and flower fountain, also inspired by Monet’s paintings, further enhanced the artistic ambiance of the venue.[/field]
[field title=”The Venue”]The history of Glen Manor dates back to the early 20th century when it was built by John Van Alen, a prominent New York architect. Inspired by the grand chateaux of France, Van Alen designed Glen Manor to mimic the architectural style of a French country estate. The building features stunning stone walls, intricate ironwork, and a majestic entrance that instantly transports visitors to a different era.

One of the highlights of Glen Manor is its beautiful gardens, which provide a picturesque backdrop for weddings. The estate boasts meticulously landscaped grounds that include lush greenery, manicured lawns, and vibrant flower beds. These gardens are reminiscent of the renowned French gardens found in Paris, with their symmetrical layouts and carefully curated plantings.[/field]

[field title=”Florals & Decor”]Florals were brought to us by Botanica Wedding Floral. Giti and her team leaned into spring colors and created a show stopping deconstructed arch as our ceremony piece. Additional decor included a party cart from Chic Party Co, a macaron tower from Love and Flour, a seating chart display from Something Borrowed Event Decor, and additional signage by design House by Brittany. [field title=”Favorite Design Element”]Our outdoor table setting under the gorgeous awning at Glen Manor House was a highlight of the day. We leaned into a heavy floral centerpiece, utilized gorgeous table top rentals from Peak Event Services, and brought in Ryan Design’s hanging light fixture to tie the whole setting together![/field]
