A Gilded Age Inspired Wedding at the George Peabody Library

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]dusty pink, pistachio, grey, ivory and gold[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]The wedding’s aesthetic, beautifully captured through the photography of Nikki Santerre and the videography of Anna + Mateo, seamlessly blended the opulence of the Gilded Age with a touch of playful charm. Every detail, from the decor to the written materials, reflected this unique fusion. Guests were encouraged to dress in “literary chic with a romantic twist,” perfectly complementing the thoughtfully curated yet fun-loving atmosphere of the summer Sunday celebration.[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]Daniel proposed at the same table in their favorite restaurant (Le Bouchon du Grove) where they had their first date, making it both a surprise and deeply meaningful. He hid a toi et moi ring, crafted from her mother’s and grandmother’s diamonds, in a napkin, symbolizing years of love and strong marriage – a perfect reflection of their hopes and dreams for the future. [field title=”Wedding Gown”]Emily’s wedding dress was an instant choice – the second she tried it on, and she knew it was “the one.” Inspired by the Gilded Age and reminiscent of her favorite painting, “Madame X” by John Singer Sargent, the gown connected her love for fashion history. Coupled with a Vera Wang veil and vintage-inspired earrings by Asheville designer Jeffrey Burroughs, it felt like a perfect blend of timeless elegance and personal significance.[/field]

[section title=”The Details”]
[field title=”Food & Drink”]The couple’s signature drink, thoughtfully named after their beloved dog, Julep, was a charming nod to Daniel’s Kentucky roots. As a true bourbon connoisseur, the groom has a deep appreciation for the spirit, so it only felt right to put a creative twist on the classic mint julep. The result was a refreshing Blackberry Mint Julep—a delightful blend of smooth Woodford Reserve Bourbon and a house-made blackberry mint simple syrup, served over ice and finished with a fragrant sprig of mint. This bespoke cocktail not only honored Daniel’s heritage but also offered guests a taste of something unique and unforgettable. To let guests know about their speciality cocktail, we had a local artist, Steph Gould, create a watercolor of their dog.

As the evening drew on, guests were treated to a late-night indulgence in the form of mini cannolis, a sweet, nostalgic offering from Vaccaro’s, a cherished Baltimore family favorite. These bite-sized delicacies were the perfect end to a perfect celebration, delighting everyone with their creamy filling and crisp, golden shells. They were displayed in custom trays made by White Glove Rentals, that said “The Eberts”. [/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]Family members carried bouquets of calla lilies, a deeply meaningful gesture that paid tribute to the very first bouquet Daniel gave Emily on their first date, and again when he proposed. These elegant blooms, with their graceful curves and timeless beauty, symbolized not just love, but the continuity of their journey together. Emily, with her keen eye for design, always gravitated toward arrangements that featured a touch of asymmetry or an unexpected, idiosyncratic detail. It was the little imperfections that made each piece feel more personal, more unique—much like their love story itself.
The tables were styled to evoke the opulent yet eclectic feel of the Gilded Age, infused with a sense of maximalism that felt both bold and romantic.

The long, sweeping tables were adorned by Kate Campbell Floral with low, full floral runners that stretched from one end to the other, creating a lush, continuous ribbon of color and life. These runners, brimming with vibrant blooms and verdant greens, imbued the space with a soft, romantic atmosphere, further enhanced by the glow of twinkling cafe lights strung above. The soft golden light, suspended from stack to stack, bathed the entire room in a warm, intimate glow, turning the venue into a dreamlike setting where every detail—from the flowers to the lighting to the carefully chosen mismatched elements—came together to create a celebration of love, beauty, and thoughtful design.[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]Emily’s wedding cake became a family project, as she dreamed of a buttercream cake reminiscent of Publix but couldn’t make it work logistically because of the wedding location. Her family, including her niece and nephew, scoured the Baltimore area with blind taste tests, ultimately finding Fresh Bakery that delivered a buttercream that, in Emily’s eyes, surpassed even her original vision.[/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]Emily and Daniel’s wedding ceremony was deeply personal, officiated by Emily’s cousin, Rabbi Josh Franklin. The couple exchanged self-written vows, both unknowingly centered around defining words, reflecting their shared love of language while the programs were designed to resemble books. The chuppah was covered with Emily’s pink tallit from her bat mitzvah, adding a personal and spiritual touch. The couple also drank from a family Kiddish cup that has been used in Emily’s family weddings for over a century, symbolizing the continuity of tradition and the blessing of their union.

Their first dance was to “Turning Page” by Sleeping at Last, symbolizing their view of love as an ongoing story and a tribute to the magnificent library setting. A special moment occurred when the band honored Emily’s parents by playing their wedding song, celebrating their 43rd anniversary that same weekend.[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]Emily and Daniel’s wedding was a heartfelt celebration of their shared passion for language and etymology. As a unique gesture, they selected a meaningful word for each guest, crafting personalized definitions that reflected the individual’s significance in their lives. These words were beautifully printed by local stationery designer, MLC Designs, on a custom bookmark, which served as both the guest’s escort card and a thoughtful favor.[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]Adding a whimsical touch, they shared their tradition of “lucky cows”—small tokens they had exchanged early in their relationship to symbolize their bond—by inviting guests to take one home for their own good fortune. [/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #3″]During a visit to tour the venue together, Emily leaned in and whispered to her planner and designer, LynnAaron with Nouvelle Weddings, that she wanted one of those charming “Ring for Champagne” signs. In the end, not one, but two signs were created, each perfectly paired with a stunning floral arrangement and a their signature drink sign. These eye-catching touches were strategically placed on the couple’s 360-degree bar, ensuring that guests could easily ring for bubbly as they sipped their favorite cocktails, adding a touch of whimsy and refinement to the evening’s festivities.[/field]

A Refined and Neutral Spring Affair at Four Seasons Miami

A refined and neutral color scheme, predominantly featuring whites, soft creams, and muted greens. This choice contributed to an overall sophisticated and serene ambiance.

[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]Soft, ambient lighting was used to create a warm and inviting atmosphere. The tables were adorned with candles to give it a romantic flair.

The reception tables were adorned with simple yet elegant table settings, including ivory linens, fine china, and crystal glassware. The centerpieces were typically understated, focusing on candles and floral arrangements.
Overall, the decor reflected a modern yet timeless style, focusing on elegance and creating a memorable and intimate experience for their guests.[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]Matt proposed in front of Saint Peter’s Basilica, which was incredibly special and meaningful, especially to my mom, who’s Catholic, and to both our families. It was such a beautiful moment. Afterward, we embarked on a journey along the Amalfi Coast, visiting Sorrento, Positano, and Capri. Capri was our favorite, and we spent a few days in each place. We had the most magical dinners, enjoying the amazing food and sharing our engagement news, which often led to free champagne and treats. It was absolutely lovely.[/field]

[field title=”Wedding Gown”]Choosing my wedding dress was quite an adventure. In the back of my mind, I always admired Monique Lhuillier’s lace designs, but I had no clear idea of the style I wanted. I’m not the type who always dreamed about her big wedding day, so I didn’t have any preplanned ideas. I went dress shopping for just one day with my mom and mother-in-law in New York. We visited several big stores, and Monique Lhuillier was our last stop. My mom couldn’t make it, so it was just me and my friend Lauren, one of my bridesmaids. When I tried on the dress, I wasn’t sure about the drop waist, but as soon as I saw myself in it, I was in love. It was classy and elegant with long sleeves and a high neck, yet also sexy with a slightly sheer bodice. I was obsessed. Although I initially hesitated to commit because of another dress in mind, after some reflection, I emailed the Monique store that night and claimed the dress. I even added an extra two feet of fabric to the veil for a more dramatic look. My wedding shoes were blue, the perfect Cinderella princess shoes, even though I never imagined having such a big wedding.

My mom went through quite a journey to find her dress too. She was very particular and wanted something that made her feel like an Oscar trophy mom. Eventually, she found a stunning gold dress that made her look fabulous and confident. She absolutely crushed it.

[/field]
[field title=”Bridesmaid Dresses”]For the bridesmaids’ dresses, I leaned into my newfound love for pink, even though it wasn’t originally my favorite color. I wanted all my bridesmaids to feel their best, so I chose different shades of dusty rose for their dresses. I allowed them to pick whatever style they wanted, whether it was feathers, sequins, metallics, or anything else, as long as it was in the dusty rose color palette. This approach gave them the freedom to choose dresses they loved and felt comfortable in, and the overall look was beautiful and unified. Inspired by Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin’s wedding, I ensured the decor, including the chairs, was elegant yet simple, creating a chic and elevated ambiance. The wedding decor featured green and white elements, and the dusty rose dresses blended perfectly, adding a lovely contrast.[/field]

[field title=”Florals & Decor”]The wedding included lush floral arrangements with a mix of white delicate blooms. The flowers were arranged in a way that complemented the venue’s natural beauty and added a touch of romance. We had 2 large and lush trees as centerpieces in 2 of the focal tables that were surrounded with lounge furniture used as guest seating. A structure was constructed over the dancefloor with hanging greenery and shiny disco balls to give it a modern and festive look. Soft, ambient lighting was used to create a warm and inviting atmosphere. The tables were adorned with candles to give it a romantic flair.

Architectural Elegance Meets Modern Chic at the Callanwolde Fine Arts Center

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]The colors for this chic wedding were classic white and elegant black. This color scheme naturally highlighted Callanwolde’s architectural beauty and historical charm.[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]The overall vibe for the day was modern chic. Combining classic white florals and greenery with sophisticated black accents, paired with the historic charm of the Callanwolde Fine Arts Center, you had the recipe for a truly unforgettable celebration. Callanwolde offers a blend of historic grandeur and artistic flair, making it the perfect backdrop for a classic wedding that felt both elegant and enchanting.[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]In the midst of the uncertainty the 2020 pandemic brought, it turned out to be the year I was fortunate enough to meet my other half.

My first impression of Elizabeth (shoutout to the Hinge dating app for the opportunity) was that she had a smile that could light up a room and an authentic sense of self that was immediately transparent. When I discovered her love for college football, specifically for Ole Miss Rebels, I knew I had just found my lottery ticket.

Fast forward to January 2023, Elizabeth and I had shared our love not with each other, but also with our newly inherited Bombay cat, Abner. At this point, we had traveled around the world, experienced the joys of life and both ready to embrace the next chapter. I had planned a dinner at our favorite local steakhouse in Atlanta but without her knowing her parents would be there waiting for us. On the way to dinner, I detoured to our favorite park under the guise of wanting to show her a picturesque update of the walking trail. I had pre-placed a note under the park bench that I then told Elizabeth to grab. When she opened the note, it read “close your eyes” and at that point I went to one-knee and said, “now open them”. It was a perfectly private moment shared by just the two of us.

Today, I’m married to the love of my life, and she’s my best friend, my confidante, and my biggest supporter. We’ll navigate life’s ups and downs together, knowing that we always have each other to lean on.[/field]

[field title=”Wedding Gown”]The bride’s wedding ensemble, a masterpiece from Pronovias Bridal Shop and acquired at Bridals by Aimee, was nothing short of elegant. Her dress, a stunning example of chic mets elegance, featured a flawlessly fitted bodice, and a flowing, floor-length skirt that captured timeless grace.

Complementing this exquisite dress was a dramatic cathedral-length veil, which cascaded gracefully behind her, creating a breathtaking and regal silhouette. The veil, with its fine fabric and delicate lace trim, added an extra layer of sophistication and romance to Elizabeth’s bridal look. As she walked down the grand staircase, the veil created a truly unforgettable and elegant moment on her special day.[/field]
[field title=”Bridesmaid Dresses”]In a refreshing departure from tradition, a bride opted for a unique celebration by forgoing the usual bridesmaids and wedding party. Guests also enjoyed Belgian Endive Leaves stuffed with creamy goat cheese, sun-dried tomatoes, dried fruits, and fresh basil, alongside Brochettes of Large Gulf Shrimp drizzled with a sweet chili garlic glaze—each dish a testament to the couple’s love for bold, inventive flavors.

For the main course, attendees were treated to a choice of four delectable options: Seasoned Grilled Jumbo Asparagus topped with crumbled goat cheese, Honey Dijon Chicken served over fluffy mashed potatoes, Cajun-seasoned Gulf shrimp resting on Monterey Jack cheese grits, or succulent Beef Short Ribs finished with a rich Coca-Cola demi-glace. This variety ensured that every palate was catered to, making the dining experience both satisfying and enjoyable.

To complement the feast, the couple offered a signature cocktail selection that included refreshing French 75s, zesty Spicy Margaritas, and indulgent Tip Top espresso martinis, ensuring that guests were ready to celebrate.[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]Gardenia Floral Design crafted exquisite wedding floral arrangements for a timeless white and greenery-themed celebration. [field title=”Wedding Cake”]In a delightful twist on wedding traditions, the bride and groom chose to forgo the traditional cake cutting in favor of a stunning Champagne tower. A Colorful Alfresco Affair at SCAD Ivy Hall in Georgia

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]Fall jewel tones. The bridesmaids wore various gowns in shades of blue and green and carried florals in creams and mauves with pops of plum. Custom decor added accent pops of teal and chartreuse inspired by the stationery suite designed by artist, Haley Wood.[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

A classic, colorful, chic, formal, alfresco affair with SCAD Ivy Hall as the backdrop and design inspiration. The ceremony took place on the garden lawn. The bride loves old homes and architecture so the glamorous SCAD Ivy Hall was a natural choice. Designed by noted architect Gottfried L. Norrman in 1883, Ivy Hall is a fine representation of Victorian architecture and is situated conveniently in midtown Atlanta. The jewel tones of the red brick and green and gold detailing served as a beautiful jumping-off point for the complimentary color palette.

[field title=”Proposal Story”]We were driving to my parents’ house to spend the night because (I believed) we were going to my friend’s baby’s baptism the next morning. My mom asked us to stop at our family farm on the way to their house to discuss a very real project that was underway she wanted me to see — very believable. This was right around sunset and I could tell it was going to be a good one. Matt asked if I wanted to ride the golf cart to my favorite spot on the property — a beautiful field with a hill and a good view of the sunset. At this point I kind of thought something was up. We sat there for a few minutes and then he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him with a ring we’d designed together using the diamond from my grandmothers engagement ring. I said yes and we sat watching the rest of the sunset relishing in the moment and then headed back to the farm house. Waiting for us were Matt’s parents and several of our closest friends waiting to congratulate and celebrate with us. That was the bigger shock — all of those people in on the plan and learning that the baptism had been made up all to get me to the farm. Matt knows how special of a place it is to me and he wanted the moment to feel personal and perfect for us — I’d say he did an impeccable job![/field]

[section title=”The Fashion”]
[field title=”Wedding Gown”]For my wedding dress, I knew I wanted something classic but with a twist. I had fallen for so many of Lela Rose’s dresses online and I went to Kelly’s Closet specifically because they carried her gowns. Throughout the dress shopping process, I was drawn to lots of different floral elements, some 3D, some more embedded in the fabric, but I knew that element would be there. And then I found myself repeatedly liking an off-the-shoulder neckline. When I finally tried on my dress — in Lela’s signature Magnolia fabric — I knew I’d found my dream dress. The silhouette felt so classic but the fabric made it feel like me.[/field]
[field title=”Bridesmaid Dresses”]Picking out the bridesmaids dresses was a really fun process and one of the first things that brought my vision to life. I liked the fully mismatched bridesmaids look, and have seen it done so well, but I knew the colors I was going for could be hard to coordinate/easy to clash if that wasn’t done in person. I also knew that unknown would be a challenge for me to let go of so I decided to pick 3 dresses for 3 of my bridesmaids each. The Sachin and Babi Jade fabric is my absolute favorite color and was an easy place to start. It took some trial and error, but my maid of honor and I went in person to play around with a couple options to find another solid and a pattern that paired together well, in similar material. The Amsale dresses felt like the same tone as the lighter dress, just 3 or 4 shades down the paint chip. And I loved that the Reformation dresses had a floral pattern to tie back to my dress. I also gifted my bridesmaids earrings in a floral design that gave them all something in common and were very reminiscent of the florals on my dress.[/field]
[field title=”Groomsman Attire”]Matt really enjoyed the process of researching suit and tuxedo styles ahead of our wedding, and ultimately he decided he wanted two looks for the night. Who among us can blame him? He went with a classic black tux for the ceremony and all of our portraits, but he changed into a white dinner jacket for the reception. Both are classic looks fit for a groom but the dinner jacket really matched the mood of our outdoor wedding at this beautiful southern old house. The outfit change was a big crowd pleaser. [/field]

The Blueprint for Making a Major Statement With Bold Color on Your Wedding Day

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]Pink, Yellow, Orange[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

We wanted something unique, bold, loud, colorful, and FUN. We wanted something that really embodied who we are as a couple and wanted our guests to feel that in every aspect of the design and detail. We really wanted something fun and different which is why we went so colorful. Also, our wedding being in the beginning of spring time played a part in deciding on color too. Alex took that up a notch by suggesting every event be one colorway. The welcome party was purple, wedding day yellow, pool party orange and Shabbat dinner orange.

[field title=”Proposal Story”]We got engaged on January 15, , 2021 in Tulum, Mexico at Papaya Playa Project Hotel. Scott knew that Annie would enjoy a weekend getaway to one of their favorite Mexico destinations, and that she preferred the proposal to be just the two of them. Scott got down on one knee as the sun was setting at the roof of their casita room where a jacuzzi and stunning ocean views laid as the backdrop. We spent the rest of the weekend celebrating while exploring Tulum and lounging on the beach. It was very romantic and special![/field]

Fabric/description: Tuileries wedding dress
How did you know it was the one? At first I thought I wanted something super simple, which just shows how much you change your mind through the wedding planning process! I walked up to Warren Barron Bridal in Dallas, which was the second location I tried dresses on at, and saw the Tuileries dress in the window. My mom and I stopped in our tracks obsessing over how gorgeous it was but agreed that it’s not a true traditional wedding dress. I tried on one very simple white strapless gown and was encouraged to try on a floral veil to spice it up. I remember asking the woman helping me, “is it okay to wear a floral veil?! Doesn’t it have to be all white?” She looked at me and said, “this is your wedding, you can do and wear whatever you want.” From that moment on something clicked – I did not have to keep with any traditions that did not fit, I could plan my wedding however I wanted and wear whatever I wanted. I immediately asked to try on the dress that was in the window, and that was it for me! I felt the most like me in that dress. My mom cried, I cried, it was perfect.[/field]

To refuel our guests before the after party, we had French fries, donuts and espresso martinis passed out on the dance floor. There was a dessert table with all sorts of goodies like macaroons, donuts, cakes and cookies placed at the back of the reception room. And for late night snacks, the after party had all of the favorites from fried Mac and cheese balls, sliders and more French fries of course.
Did you have a signature cocktail? We had signature cocktails at each event to match the color of the event. Tying in all the monochromatic event designs was done strategically, and one way was with the signature cocktails. Offered exclusively at entry, it excited guests to see what was done whether the event was the formal wedding, intimate Shabbat dinner, or casual pool party.

My boutonniere was also monochromatic yellow tied off with a pink ribbon. The shade of pink perfectly matched our ceremony and reception chairs, as well as our customized Kippahs.[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]We decided to not have a wedding cake, we did not want to do
anything to interrupt the flow of the party.[/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]Picking the song Annie would walk down the aisle too. We chose “Across the Room” by Odesza and Leon Bridges. This song was playing while Scott first told Annie he was falling in love with her.[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]Annie was originally skeptical about choosing a hotel as their wedding venue, she wanted a small intimate feel, nothing too traditional. As none of our guests live in Austin and it being a four day long wedding extravaganza, it was really important for us to make sure our guests could experience Austin to the fullest while getting to know one another (this would be the first time our friends and most family members would be meeting!). We thought what better way to see Austin than stay in the heart of it, in the middle of all the action, right on South Congress Street. South Congress Hotel was the perfect fit, it gave us the small intimate boutiquey feeling we wanted, where our guests would be constantly bumping into each other in the hotel and on the street and had all of the amenities to fuel the four day long party. Not to mention the chic design of the hotel, fabulous rooftop pool and delicious multiple restaurants.
Geraldine’s was also an easy choice for us. We have stayed at Hotel Van Zandt multiple times and always loved the feel and vibe of Geraldine’s.[/field]

A Minimalist Approach to Bridal Fashion, No Matter Your Style

From layers and layers of tulle to dazzling, embroidered lace, and even labyrinthine beadwork (or sequins, if you’re partial to those little bits of sparkle, like me), you can find any number of wedding dresses that are extra. The “Go Big or Go Home” mantra has certainly had its way as far as dress design is concerned. While that’s all well and good, perhaps you find yourself desiring a more no-frills sort of approach to your dream dress: understated but show-stopping nonetheless.

If this sounds truer to form for you, we have good news! If you’re looking for a ballgown or a slip dress, a minimalist, elegant aesthetic can be easily showcased, whether you’re sending out boho vibes or are more of a traditional sort of bride-to-be. Driven by clean lines, a simple aesthetic, and, of course, the highest quality craftsmanship, these wedding dresses prove you can go minimalist, no matter your style.

Edgy
Daring necklines and crisp angles will define for the more bold, avant-garde bride. Consider a dress with unexpected layering for an offbeat style that turns heads. The ultimate statement in chic.

Modern
For a more contemporary spin on classic white, unexpected texture might lead the way. A scalloped edge or high-low hemline brings a fresh, new take to the big day’s dress, while also ensuring that the pared-back gown endures long past the wedding day.

Princess
Who says a princess gown has to be all sparkle and shine? A full skirt that’s still light on layers can go a long way, especially when paired with more refined, monochromatic beadwork.

Traditional
A traditional shape is one that will never get old. While lace is generally more delicate, its texture and intricacy can bring a polished sort of detailing to the forefront of the dress’s design. Proving once again that you don’t have to forfeit sophistication by embracing a minimalist approach to nuptial fashion.

Glamorous
Sweeping trains and vintage-inspired silhouettes might characterize the allure of what’s become the glamorous style of bridal fashion. Perhaps let adornment take a back seat while the satin and silk do the talking; showcase the effect that structured composition and pristine fabrics can undeniably have on glamour.

Boho
Bohemian gowns are typically set apart by their commitment to all things flowy and unrestricted. As a staple in the market, these effortless, albeit unconventional dresses should still have their day to shine in a way that lets them do it all on their own.

A Backyard Wedding in LA With Hollywood Regency Style

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]This wedding had a rich, high-contrast color palette of black, white, and dark green, as well as brass accents. The ceremony color pallette was a bit softer, with the focus on the white and green florals and whimsical wooden chairs. Whereas the reception space brought a dark and moody color palette to life. Though keeping the green and white florals, a black tent, black and white checkered dance floor, and dark green velvet linens transitioned the guests to a bold, and sexy design as the sun went down.[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]Kate and Chris’ vision was to have an elegant home wedding with a whimsical, floral-heavy design and accents that reminded them of Hollywood regency. Their beautiful family home was the perfect backdrop for this wedding – the ceremony florals arched over the adorable blue door, and then spilled down the front steps and onto the brick path. A large tree graced the space, provided shade to keep guests comfortable during the ceremony. A curving brick pathway leading to the front door made for a perfect floral aisle! Finally, the backyard of this home took on a complete transformation. Where there was once a backyard pool, guests were surprised to find a beautiful clear-top tent. A floor was constructed over the pool, and entire backyard to provide ample space to seat Kate and Chris’ beloved guests.[/field]

[field title=”Florals & Decor”]For this floral-forward design, Tyler Speier Events designed a ceremony that overflowed with white roses, hydrangea, and delphinium. The long, curvy aisle was lushly lined with tall white florals and a hint of blue. The flowers were constructed to “grow” from the ground, up the front porch, and arching over the front door, framing the family home’s beautiful architecture. [/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]Instead of a traditional wedding cake, Kate & Chris opted to serve Tres LA Group’s signature Icebox shots. Guests had the delectable options of either a Vanilla Panna Cotta with Seasonal Berry Preserves, or Chocolate Pot de Creme with Whipped Cream.[/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]Kate and Chris kept the energy high, walking in for their grand entrance to “Lovely Day” by Bill Withers, then giving a heartfelt thank you speech before dinner. [/field]

West Coast Music played the Formula 1 Theme Song for his processional! It was so unique and fun. Also, the escort cards had custom watercolored Formula 1 race cars, as did the table numbers. [/field]

Embracing the Beauty of the PNW With Wildflowers Galore at the Griffin House

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]We didn’t have “set” colors but instead picked a variety of sunset and pastel shades throughout! [/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]For our wedding, AJ and I wanted to bring a little piece of our favorite Pacific Northwest summer vibes to life. We love the mountains when the wildflowers are in full bloom, so that was the look we wanted—bright, colorful florals everywhere! An outdoor wedding with an epic backdrop was a must, and we aimed for a vibe that felt just like us: easygoing, laid-back, and a touch of elegance. It was all about creating a day that celebrated the beauty of nature and our love in a way that felt true to who we are.[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]AJ popped the question on a road trip through Vancouver Island, Canada, and it couldn’t have been more perfect! We were out on a hike, surrounded by amazing scenery, when he surprised me with the proposal. It was such a special, unexpected moment that made the trip unforgettable.[/field]

[field title=”Wedding Gown”]I’ll admit, I was extremely picky when it came to my wedding dress. After trying on what felt like 50 gowns, I finally found “the one”—the Belvedere by Lela Rose. The moment I put it on, it just felt right. It’s covered in modern lace, giving it this whimsical, romantic vibe that I loved. The dress itself was perfect, but Nyanza Bridal’s seamstress tailored it to absolute perfection and even crafted my custom veil. To complete the look, I wore white Manolo Blahnik heels that were not only elegant but so comfortable I was able to wear them all night. My sweet aunt lent me some gorgeous earrings and a diamond pendant, giving me “something borrowed.” [/field]
[field title=”Bridesmaid Dresses”]I wanted my bridesmaids to feel like themselves, so I let them choose their own dresses and colors. My only guideline was floor-length dresses in a pastel shade. Each of my friends ended up picking something unique, which was perfect—it really captured how special and distinct they each are. The mix of colors and dress styles added this beautiful, “effortless” elegance to the day, which was exactly the vibe I was hoping for.[/field]
[field title=”Groomsman Attire”]The groom and groomsmen kept with the theme by wearing navy blue suits, each paired with matching ties featuring wildflowers. It was a perfect nod to our love for Pacific Northwest wildflower blooms and tied everything together beautifully.[/field]

[section title=”The Details”]
[field title=”Food & Drink”]Our food and drink were a big part of bringing the Pacific Northwest vibe to life. As guests arrived at the ceremony, they were greeted with sparkling wine decorated with flowers. During cocktail hour, we served bites like skewered shrimp with cherry tomatoes and basil, brown butter steak canapés, prosciutto-wrapped asparagus, and oysters on the half shell. For our signature drinks, we chose a jalapeño margarita and a cucumber lime gimlet, which were both huge hits. Dinner offered a choice of salmon, steak, or gnocchi, but the real standout was the locally roasted vegetables that accompanied each dish. It was the perfect way to showcase the flavors of the region we love.[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]Our wedding planner and designer, Tamara, truly knocked it out of the park with her design. After working together for more than two years (thanks to a long engagement!), she knew our taste even better than we did. Everything turned out beyond our expectations. Following our Pacific Northwest wildflower theme, the florals at each event were absolute showstoppers. My bouquet was filled with colorful ranunculus, dahlias, and peonies—it was the most beautiful arrangement I’d ever seen. The bridesmaids each carried white bouquets, each featuring a different flower, which tied their colorful dresses to my white bridal look perfectly. Tamara also designed the groom and groomsmen’s boutonnieres with wildflowers, seamlessly bringing our entire bridal party together.

We had two separate inspirations for the ceremony and the reception. For the ceremony, we wanted a natural vibe to blend with the breathtaking backdrop, especially since both our guests and the bridal party were in colorful attire. We went with lush “meadows” of green and white flowers lining the aisle and surrounding the ceremony space. The mix of greens, whites, and touches of red perfectly complemented the natural setting and our colorful guests, creating a simple yet stunning effect.

Since we love color, we had a lot of fun with the reception decor! Tamara created a stunning entrance to our reception tent with hanging florals that had an organic, natural vibe. Inside, the tent was filled with hanging lights and floral “blooms” that added a touch of whimsy, while drapes gave the space an elegant yet laid-back feel. Our tables were decorated with vibrant flowers in sunset shades, and to keep things natural, we chose table runners instead of full tablecloths. The stationery by Trellis Creative Co. complemented the floral decor with pressed flowers in each guest’s place card. Flowers truly filled the space, bringing our love of color to life everywhere![/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]We kept our cake simple with a small cutting cake, decorated with—you guessed it—more flowers! Instead of serving full slices, we decided to offer mini cupcakes, which was perfect since our special touch for the reception was a gelato cart. It was a fun way to mix things up and give guests a variety of sweet options to enjoy![/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]One of the absolute highlights of the day was our band! They set the perfect tone with beautiful ceremony music, including “Here Comes the Sun” by The Beatles and “A Thousand Years” by Christina Perri. Then, they brought incredible energy to the reception, filling the dance floor with everyone from start to finish. It was so special to see all our loved ones having the time of their lives, dancing and celebrating together.[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]The night before our wedding, we hosted our bridal party and immediate family at Grateful Vineyard, nestled at the base of Mount Hood. It was the perfect spot to give our guests a feel for both sides of Hood River—the stunning Columbia River Gorge and the mountain views. We served wood-fired pizza and fresh salads from the farm, and several of our closest friends and family gave heartfelt toasts to kick off the celebrations. It was a beautiful start to the weekend![/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]One of the hardest parts of my wedding day was not having my mom there, as she had passed away in 2022. A few of my friends, along with my sister, gave me the most thoughtful gift—a bouquet charm with a photo of my mom to wear on the day. You can imagine the tears when I received it (thankfully before makeup!). It was such a special way to feel like she was there with me, and I’ll always cherish that gesture.[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #3″]One of our special touches for the wedding was having a gelato cart in honor of my late mother, who absolutely loved gelato. Some of my favorite memories with her are from our travels in Italy, where we would stop for gelato at least once a day—sometimes more! We brought in Pinolo Gelato from Portland, complete with their adorable gelato bike, and offered our guests a choice of four flavors. It was a meaningful way to remember her, and our guests loved it.[/field]

A Joyful and Vibrant Wedding at Ritz Carlton Zadun Reserve in Cabo

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]I always envisioned the reception to be colorful and vibrant to exude a sense of joy and excitement. My wish was for
everyone to dance the night away, and I think the colors really encouraged everyone to celebrate and enjoy. Even the
dance floor was decorated with a customized floral design that especially drew guests in.[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]How did you choose your wedding venue? Cabo is where we took our first trip together and really fell in love, so we
felt it was only fitting to get married in our special place. We chose Zadún because of the beautiful property and
atmosphere, not to mention their impeccable customer service that made our guests and us feel like royalty.

Did your wedding have a theme? If so, how did you choose it? When we think of Cabo, we think of joy, color, fun,
warmth, and love. That’s what it represents to us, so we wanted to share that feeling and experience with all our
guests. We opted to arrange the guest’s seats during the ceremony in a u shape surrounding the chuppah so that the
ceremony felt very intimate. Our goal was to create an environment where everyone felt a sense of community and
connection. The flowers on the walking path and on the chuppah felt like we were in a secluded garden. We chose to
keep the rehearsal dinner at Acre Resort in more neutral tones so that our wedding day and reception really popped.
Did you incorporate any religious and/or cultural traditions into your ceremony? We incorporated Jewish traditions,
such as circling the groom seven times and breaking the glass. We got married under a beautiful, floral chuppah with
Robert’s late uncle’s tallis draped to create the roof. We also handed our guests yamakas with our wedding date
engraved on the inside.[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]How did you meet, and how long did you date before getting engaged? We met through the dating app, Hinge, but
coincidentally had gone to the same preschool, summer camp and K-12 school our whole lives up until college. We
both moved away for years until returning to Dallas. Robert is 5 years older, so we hadn’t known each other but
discovered endless ways our paths have crossed with mutual connections. We like to think we unknowingly must have
walked past each other dozens of times throughout our lives. We dated for a little over a year before getting engaged.
Length of engagement: 10 months.
Who proposed? When and how? Robert proposed while[/field]

Did you wear any other special jewelry or accessories? I wore my mother’s diamond earrings as my something
borrowed. As my something blue, during the reception, I changed into customized Miron Crosby blue metallic cowboy
boots. The boots had our wedding date and initials engraved on the outside and a special note sewn inside from
Robert that I waited to read until our wedding day.[/field]
[field title=”Bridesmaid Dresses”]The bridesmaid’s dresses? I asked my bridesmaids to choose from a color palette of red, orange, and pink. I did not
have any requirements about where they bought their dress or a specific style. I wanted them to choose any dress
they felt most comfortable and beautiful wearing.[/field]

[field title=”Florals & Decor”]How did you choose your table decor? Since the reception was on the beach, I wanted the table décor to enhance
the natural beauty of the beach. I wanted the tables to look playful and fun, so we opted for colorful hand painted
patterned plates and place settings that exuded the amazing energy of Cabo. The menus were personalized to each
guest and offered a coordinating pop of color. The flower arrangements on the tables were colorful, substantial but
not distracting. Taking a step back to admire the flowers, table décor, and glowing candles made me feel like I was in a
dream.
What flowers did you use in the bouquet and at the venue? Roses, Ranunculus and Lisiantus. A couple of seasonal
wild flowers too.
Please describe your bouquets and any other flowers used to decorate (specific names of the flowers). Red
rannunculus, pink lisianthus, hot pink bouganvilea, pink roses, orange wild flowers

[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]Did friends and family contribute to the ceremony in any way? If so, how? Robert’s older sister, Kathryn, was our
officiant. One strong thread that bonds Robert and me together is our emphasis and love for family, so it felt
extremely important and meaningful for us to have a family member conduct our ceremony. Kathryn did an incredible
job leading an intimate and meaningful ceremony- exactly how we wanted it to be and feel.
Did you do a “first look” before the ceremony? If no, why?
Yes, which was a very special moment for us- we both cried.[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]What did you use as your escort cards and/or place cards?
We used local artisan glass blown color coordinated hearts to display the escort cards. We wanted guests to have
something special to take home and remember the amazing weekend. We hoped to create a special place in their
hearts for Cabo, just as Robert and I experienced on our very first trip together.[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]Please describe about 3 personal touches:
1. We provided polaroid cameras for guests to take pictures and put in our guest book. Someone took a polaroid
picture of our first dance, which we will treasure forever.
2. I loved wearing my cowboy boots and bringing a little Texas to Cabo.
3. Robert gifted special bowties to his father-in-law, father, and groomsmen.[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #3″]Please describe about 4 favorite moments:
1. We surprised our guests with fireworks that went off to the chorus of the song “Without you” by Avicii as we cut
our wedding cake. Watching our guests’ excited reactions and feeling their energy can only be described as pure
magic.
2. When I got on the band’s stage with my friends, we were enthusiastically dancing until politely asked to get down as
the stage was about to collapse- worth it for those few minutes though.
3. We both described feeling calm and very present while standing under the chuppah during our ceremony. Listening
to the ocean waves, Kathryn’s soothing voice, and feeling the ocean breeze all flowed into a feeling of peace, as if we
were exactly where we were meant to be.
4. During the reception, Robert pulled me aside to stand back and take a moment to observe everyone on the dance
floor. I’m so grateful we made a point to appreciate that moment and take a mental snapshot we’ll never forget.

What did you learn from the experience?
There is nothing more special than having everyone you love in one place at once and watching both your worlds
mesh in the best way possible.
If you could sum up your wedding day in one sentence, how would you describe it?
Being with all of our loved ones dancing, smiling, and radiating joy truly embodied our love of family and felt like
home.[/field]

A “Father of the Bride” Wedding – Her Parents Transformed Their Home Into Her Dream Venue!

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]The wedding colours reflected a soft, romantic palette with a natural and vintage-inspired feel. Dominant hues of blush pinks, creamy ivories and whites, muted peaches & soft mauves.[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]Our wedding was truly a “Father of the Bride” experience, with my mom and dad dedicating the year leading up to it to transform our home into my dream wedding venue. They painted the exterior of the house, tended to the yard, grew hand-cut flowers in our desired colour palate, and even cleared out all the furniture inside to host the reception. Surrounded by our loved ones and the memories of my childhood, the day was filled with deep meaning and intimacy.

The wedding design beautifully blended romance and nostalgia, perfectly complementing the intimate setting of my childhood home. It was incredibly personal, with a middle school friend providing all the local florals, the DJ being someone who went to prom with my sister, and my high school band teacher playing saxophone in the trio during cocktail hour. The abundance of personal touches added layers of meaning, reflecting our style and the deep connections we share with our loved ones.

Our wedding stationery, with its romantic and timeless design, perfectly set the tone for the celebration. A stunning watercolour of the lake and vineyard view, vintage stamps, elegant calligraphy, and gold wax seals created an atmosphere of nostalgia. The welcome itinerary captured the excitement. I wanted our wedding weekend to give our guests the full Okanagan experience. We hosted a long table rehearsal dinner under the stars, a lively speakeasy welcome party at Crown and Thieves Winery, and a farewell pool party at the house on Sunday. By stretching the celebrations over the weekend, we had time to mingle with everyone and savour each moment.

The decor embraced a timeless elegance with a vintage-inspired touch, balancing classic and fresh elements. Every detail was thoughtfully chosen to enhance the natural beauty of the surrounding lake and vineyard. The floral arrangements featured soft pastels and delicate blooms like roses, ranunculus, feverfew, and cosmos, arranged in a natural, slightly whimsical style. A palette of blush, peach, and soft pastel tones, accented with hints of ivory and gold, added a touch of luxury to the overall aesthetic, making the day as beautiful as it was meaningful.[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]Brandon waited until the week after New Year’s to propose, avoiding a stereotypical engagement. I had a feeling it was coming but was surprised when it didn’t happen during the big holiday moments. The weekend after New Year’s on January 6th, he spontaneously surprised me with a cozy getaway weekend to Squamish, BC. We stayed in this tiny rustic cabin on the ocean with spectacular views of the Howe Sound. That first night, after he cooked a delicious homemade pasta, he popped the question in the most intimate setting—just the two of us. He was so cute and nervous that when he proposed he opened the ring box upside down. It was perfectly us, and of course, I said yes! We facetimed our parents that night, but kept the excitement to ourselves for the weekend, savouring every moment with each other.[/field]

I chose a simple yet elegant white satin dress from Jenny Yoo, which perfectly captured that classic, understated look. For a romantic touch that tied into our backyard setting I wore a beautiful veil from Grace Loves Lace, adorned with delicate floral embroidery. To bring in a vintage feel, I added a lace topper and finished off the look with my grandmothers pearl earrings and pastel-blue floral mules with a sheer bow for “Something blue” which added a lovely, feminine detail.[/field]
[field title=”Bridesmaid Dresses”]I wanted my bridesmaids to feel comfortable and shine in a way that reflected their unique personalities, so I embraced a beautiful mix of styles and fabrics. With a bit of guidance, each bridesmaid chose her own dress, resulting in an array of solids, florals, and textures. The dresses featured an enchanting blend of ruffles, silks, and chiffons, creating a rich tapestry of styles that came together beautifully. The colour palette was a combination of dusty rose, peach, pinks and mauves. This soft and romantic spectrum complemented the overall theme of the wedding, adding a touch of elegance and warmth. Each dress told its own story while contributing to a cohesive and stunning visual effect, celebrating the individuality of each bridesmaid while creating a gorgeous and unified look.[/field]
[field title=”Groomsman Attire”]The groomsmen looked sharp in classic black suits, perfectly complemented by the groom’s black tuxedo. Cocktail Hour kicked off with Jalapeño Margaritas and Aperol Spritzes, setting the stage for an array of inventive canapés, including Duck Corn Dogs, Ahi Tuna Cones, Radish Tacos, Mini Noodle Boxes, and Porcini Arancini. When Dinner arrived our appetizers featured Beet or Waygu Carpaccio, followed by a delectable main course of 48 Hour Short Rib, Char Siu Sablefish, or Seared Cauliflower. Dessert was our Salted Caramel Vanilla Bean Wedding Cake and was as beautiful as it was delicious. To keep the energy high before hitting the dance floor, we served Espresso Martinis and ended the night on a comforting note with Perogies as a late-night snack, paying tribute to our Ukrainian roots![/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]The decor embraced a timeless elegance, with a vintage-inspired touch that felt both classic and fresh. Every detail was thoughtfully chosen to enhance the natural beauty of the surrounding lake and vineyard. The floral arrangements featured soft pastels and delicate blooms like roses, ranunculus, feverfew and cosmos arranged in a natural and slightly whimsical style. A palette of blush, peach and soft pastel tones with hints of ivory and gold brought a touch of luxury to the overall aesthetic.
[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]Our wedding cake was a stunning three-tiered design covered in simple white buttercream with a rough-edge finish. It was beautifully decorated with pink roses, whimsical white cosmos and feverfew, and was displayed elegantly on top of our piano. The cake featured a delicious blend of Vanilla Bean and Salted Caramel flavours: moist vanilla bean cake with a vanilla milk soak, milk cookie crumb, salted caramel, and vanilla bean white chocolate buttercream. It was as delightful to taste as it was to look at.[/field]

[field title=”Special Detail #1″]One of my favourite details was the gallery wall of our family wedding photos, framed in elegant vintage gold frames. Each frame showcased a special moment from our families’ past, creating a beautiful tapestry of memories. The display was thoughtfully designed with one frame left intentionally empty, symbolizing our own place in this growing collection of cherished moments. It was a touching way to honour our families while also marking the start of our own story together.[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]I LOVED our wedding favours and invitations!! We created a custom playing card deck with all the beautiful stationery graphics and watercolour paintings. Since Brandon and I play crib every weekend, it felt perfect to incorporate these cards into our seating chart and as wedding favours for our guests to treasure. I loved that I was the Queen, and Brandon was the King,—it was such a personal touch that made the day even more special and we continue to reminisce about our special day every time we play cards.[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #3″]In our family, it’s a cherished tradition to share a little shot of vodka as a “diborja” in honour of our Ukrainian roots. My grandpa took on the role of welcoming our guests before dinner with a cheerful “Leon” shot. It was such a heartwarming moment to see him mingling with everyone, creating a connection that was both cute and deeply meaningful. Everyone got a kick out of it, and it really set the tone for the fun evening ahead.[/field]

A Rom-Com Worthy Spring Wedding in Vermont at Basin Harbor Club

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]Corinne and Bryan had a muted spring palette plus navy and champagne. [/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]Bryan and Corinne had a rustic New England wedding with a whimsical wildflower vibe.

How did you choose your wedding venue and aesthetic?
We got married at a lakeside resort, Basin Harbor. We both have a shared love of the area, with Corinne growing up in Vermont and Bryan visiting his family cabin just across the lake in the Adirondacks. It was the perfect combination of the two of us, and we were so excited to get married in such a beautiful area. We had friends and family travel from all over the US and even a few internationally, so it was important to us for our guests to feel like this was a vacation for them too, and Basin Harbor was the perfect location. We all spent the weekend staying onsite in beautiful lakeside cottages, making smores, kayaking, listening to live music, and celebrating with the people we love![/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]We met as everyone does nowadays – on the internet! We matched on Hinge, made plans for a dinner date in the North End of Boston, and then proceeded to spend five hours together on said date because we did not want the evening to end!
How long did you date before the proposal happened? Just shy of two years.

Within a year, we moved in together, and one of our favorite routines is ending each evening with a walk down Hanover Street in the North End, which is where we had our first date. On one of these evening walks, Bryan proposed, Bryan hired proposal photographers CityLux (who ended up being our wedding photographers) to capture it, and we celebrated with our family that same evening at Mare in Bostons North End![/field]

[field title=”Florals & Decor”]Corinne and Bryan wanted florals to be as if they could pick them in a Vermont meadow. Their ceremony arch consisted of muted wildflowers flowers and greenery creating that whimsical and rustic vibe from the very beginning. This vibe carried right into the reception. Each table setting contained wild flowers in bud vases and light blue candlesticks or a beautiful wildflower bouquet with lots of greenery. Around the reception space, Bryan and Corinne had wicker lanterns surrounding the space. These lanterns created a cozy feel to the atmosphere. [/field]

[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]Our ceremony took place under a shady tree overlooking the harbor below, and my brother Christian officiated. That feeling of intimacy and comfortability transferred over to the ceremony. We felt very at ease and relaxed – Christian’s many jokes helped with that![/field]

A Tropical Lowcountry Wedding with a Stormy Twist

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]Pink, tangerine, yellow, sage green, and white.[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]Maggie and David’s late springtime wedding at Colleton River in Bluffton, South Carolina, was a vibrant celebration steeped in tropical details and whimsy. Every detail of their day was meticulously curated to evoke the playful charm of a garden party infused with lush, citrus-inspired accents, vibrant hues, and a touch of coastal sophistication. Working closely with the talented team at Swanson Signature Events, Maggie envisioned a design that would beautifully contrast the natural beauty of Colleton River’s landscape with a bold, lively palette.

The couple chose the main lawn by the clubhouse for their sunset ceremony, where the riverfront view provided a stunning natural backdrop. A dramatic 12-foot floral arch stood as the ceremony’s focal point, adorned with lush palm fronds and an array of white and pink roses. The aisle, delicately lined with rose petals, invited guests into an atmosphere of tropical romance and elegance. After the ceremony, guests flowed into cocktail hour on the clubhouse lawn, where they mingled under strands of café lights. Adirondack chairs and cocktail tables, draped in light pink silk linens and topped with crystal lights, created an inviting and intimate lounge-like setting as the sun set over the coastline.

As dusk settled, Maggie and David stole a few more moments for dreamy portraits on the lawn, capturing the very last bit of golden light before joining their guests for an evening of celebration. Inside, the reception space burst with color and vibrancy, featuring lush floral arrangements in bold pinks, oranges, and blues. Tablescapes incorporated fresh citrus displays, adding a refreshing, fragrant element that complemented the colorful blooms and linens in light pink, orange, and white. Large floral arrangements framed the band’s stage, seamlessly blending the reception decor with the lively dance floor where Maggie and David danced the night away with their loved ones. Every detail—from the bright citrus accents to the garden-inspired florals—created an unforgettable, joy-filled celebration perfectly suited to Maggie and David’s vision and the beautiful South Carolina venue.[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]The couple both went to the same high school in Marietta, GA where Maggie was a freshman, and David was a senior. They met when they were both working at a local restaurant together, where David was a waiter and Maggie was a hostess in 2012. David was Maggies’ senior crush, but the two parted ways when David went off to college the following year. They reconnected in 2020 at the New Years Eve ball at the Georgia Aquarium, and have been together ever since!

In the spring of 2023, the two got engaged on the beach in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, accompanied by their sweet puppy, Oakley. It was fitting that the couple ended up back in the greater Hilton Head region for their wedding a year later! [/field]

[field title=”Wedding Gown”]For her wedding day look, Maggie opted for a stylish, comfortable silk number from designer Danielle Frankel. Her cream-colored silk dress was in a bias-cut column silhouette, with a high neckline, and a low asymmetrical open back. A lace-edged cathedral length veil, worn by both of her sisters for their own wedding days, completed her modern, elegant look. A bright pink bridal bouquet of petite ranunculus perfectly complimented her all-white ensemble, while paying homage to her bright floral design and her bridesmaids donning the same hue of pink. Maggie chose to wear her hair up for her wedding day in a chic, low chignon that framed her face and veil perfectly. A pair of stylish, comfortable white leather heeled sandals from Margaux NY’s bridal line finished the whole ensemble![/field]
[field title=”Bridesmaid Dresses”]Fashion was at the very core of Maggie and her gals for their wedding day. Maggie desired a vibrant wedding party to accentuate the sprawling green lawns and waterfront views Colleton River provided, so her ladies all selected dresses in various shades, patterns, and textures of Barbie pink from designers such as Staud, Reformation, and Amsale.[/field]
[field title=”Groomsman Attire”]David and his groomsmen kept things classic in two piece tuxedos, finished with black bow ties, crisp white tuxedo shirts, and patent tuxedo shoes. Once their reception began, David opted to change into an off-white dinner jacket for the evening to change up his look! [/field]

[field title=”Food & Drink”]As the sun began to set over the horizon in Bluffton, their fashionable guests headed to cocktail hour on the main lawn, where they were treated to signature cocktails of an Aperol Spritz & and Espresso Martinis and passed hors d’oeuvres. The couple had asked their guests to don their most colorful cocktail attire for the wedding day, and their guests certainly showed up in vibrant style![/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]Maggie’s vision for her Hilton Head wedding weekend was to create a blend of coastal nods and tropical, vibrant design! Hues of pink, white, tangerine, yellow, and sage green were woven throughout the wedding day, from the wedding party’s florals, to the ceremony, and to the vibrant reception. Working with the team at A Floral Affair, an overall design of garden party-inspired blooms, palm fronds, and monochromatic bouquets of ranunculus was created to bring Maggie’s vision to life.

The wedding party’s floral design featured a blend of classic design and subtle vibrancy. The bride held a bouquet of bright pink ranunculus, which stood out beautifully against her sleek off-white Danielle Frankel gown, adding a fresh pop of color to her look. The bridesmaids carried simple yet refined white bouquets of ranunculus, which complemented their dresses in varying shades of pink, from blush to bold fuchsia. These monochromatic arrangements created a cohesive aesthetic that unified the bridal party while allowing the bride’s bouquet to serve as the focal point.

The wedding ceremony took place outdoors on the main lawn against the riverfront landscape of the Colleton River property, framed by a grand floral arch. The arch was adorned with lush tropical greenery and palm fronds, and clusters of soft pink and white roses, creating a romantic focal point for the couple to exchange their vows underneath. The floral arrangement was balanced yet organic, with a mix of blooming roses and ferns that added texture and depth. White petals were scattered along the aisle, which was lined with simple white chairs for guests. Bridesmaids in pastel pink dresses added a cohesive touch to the soft color palette, contrasting with the groomsmen in classic black tuxedos. The overall aesthetic was elegant and timeless, blending natural beauty with a touch of sophistication.

Maggie and David’s wedding reception design featured a vibrant, fresh aesthetic with a tropical flair. Centerpieces included lush arrangements of coral peonies, pink ranunculus, orange spray roses, and accents of delicate purple blooms, creating a lively color palette. These florals were paired with tall, cylindrical glass candle holders containing white pillar candles, adding warmth and ambiance to the tablescape. Citrus fruits, including limes and oranges, were scattered among the florals, enhancing the tropical vibe and adding a playful touch. Each place setting was styled with woven chargers, crisp white plates, and soft creamsicle orange napkins tied elegantly to match the floral hues. This reception setup beautifully balanced elegance with a fun, fresh energy, perfect for a late springtime celebration.[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]Maggie and David opted for a whimsical, all-white four-tiered wedding cake from local patisserie Custom Confections. The cake featured gorgeous fondant flower petals and leaves covered in a pearlescent finish that artfully wound up the side of the cake in a sweep. [/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”][/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]Though the day started with perfect coastal weather, storm clouds quickly rolled in during portraits, forcing a last-minute scramble. The vendor team rushed to move cocktail hour indoors, but not everything – like the couple’s towering tropical floral arch – could be saved. As torrential rain and hurricane-force winds hit the venue head-on, Maggie and her bridesmaids belted out Frozen’s “Let It Go” from the bridal suite while part of the venue’s roof blew off into the road out front!

Once the storm passed, everyone pitched in to restore the ceremony site, retrieve the chairs from the marsh waters, and clear the roof’s rubble from the road so that guests could safely arrive. Miraculously, the floral arch managed to survive the rain and winds, having landed facedown in the lawn. As guests arrived and took their seats to the re-staged ceremony site, they were treated to one of the prettiest golden hours that spring. Maggie and David were married in a perfect golden glow in front of their friends & families under a 12′ tropical floral arch.[/field]

The Sweetest Garden Wedding at Salamander Resort That Feels Like Summer!

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]A variety of soft and vibrant pinks and creamy whites[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]Julia and Dean envisioned a bright & summery garden party-style wedding celebration. Using the Salamander Resort as the backdrop, the amazing Simply Chic wedding planning team created a design that had a free-flowing, breezy feel while also maintaining elevated, fashionable touches. The vibe was easy-going and filled with lots of pretty floral patterns at every turn.[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]From the groom: “In 2012, Julia and I went on our first date at the ripe age of 15 as sophomores in high school. We were introduced through a mutual friend, as we went to different/neighboring schools. If you are familiar with diving laws, 15 is too young to have a driver’s license. With that, Julia’s dad, accompanied by her precocious brother, were the cauphers for the date. We were dropped off for dinner and hit it off immediately. After our date we walked and shopped around. Ironically, it turned into a familiar affair, as Julia and I ran into some of Julia’s extended family members. As the date concluded, we knew there was something special.

We went on to attend James Madison University, where our relationship grew stronger amongst many games, date parties, formals, and even attending some classes together. Following graduation, Dean went to pursue becoming a Marine Corps Officer and Naval aviator while Julia continued her education to become a teacher. With visiting and many flights over long weekends, we knew we were each other’s person and wanted to get married. We had shopped for engagement rings around Christmas of 2021 so the proposal was coming.

Julia is notorious for being a planner, especially when one of her best friends asked her to get her nails done. However, with the help of friends and family they worked hard to keep it a surprise. It was a long weekend where I was able to come up and had made “brunch” plans for a Saturday bunch. Little did Julia know, we went back to the same place where we went on our first date, reminiscing of that day. I was pointing out “this is where we had our first date, this is where we had ice cream… And this is where I will ask you to be my wife.” On March 5th, 2022, I asked her to marry me and she immediately said “Yes!” Seconds later, our family and friends popped out from a reserved room in a restaurant where they saw the whole proposal happen! We celebrated with our closest friends and family.”[/field]

Guests also enjoyed passed hors d’oeuvres before entering the ballroom for dinner.

The couple served macrons, in a box tied up with ribbon, as a sweet favor to guests and optional pre-dinner treat.[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]Floral decor focused on a style that felt organic, free-flowing and pink-focused, mimicking the feel of right in a garden. The floral design used a wide variety of gorgeous shades of soft and vibrant pinks which gave a subtly feminine tone to the style.

A floral arch bursting with blooms enhanced the look of the ceremony and highlighted the bride and groom as “guests of honor” during the reception.

Bouquets were also bloom-heavy and just a little bit wild, creating a refined yet organic look to enhance the group’s style.[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]The wedding cake was designed for understated elegance, with just a few bright accent flowers scattered along the cream, simple cake.[/field]

A Romantic Persian & Portuguese Wedding at the National Gallery of Canada

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]The color palette was meticulously curated to harmonize with the sophisticated ambiance of the atrium-style venue. Encompassing serene dove grays, soothing cool blues, and a hint of delicate blush, the selection was designed to infuse warmth and softness into the otherwise stark environment. With its expansive concrete surfaces and bold geometric angles, the reception space, encased in a glass atrium, demanded a thoughtful contrast to temper its inherent modernity. The result was a refined visual symphony that both complemented and softened the venue’s architectural grandeur.
[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]The design vision embraced a philosophy of pristine simplicity, ensuring that every element exuded a clean, crisp elegance. From the steamed linens to the glass charger plates and acrylic ghost tables, every choice was deliberate, reflecting a theme of transparency in harmony with the venue’s all-glass architecture. This commitment to clarity was further enhanced by glass-like furniture and mirrored accents, which amplified the shimmering effect of strategically placed candles.

Given the expansive grandeur of the space, with its towering ceilings, we focused on a few standout features to captivate and engage. Guests were greeted by the melodious strains of a dozen string musicians, whose classical harmonies resonated through the colonnade leading to the reception area. Upon arrival, an extravagant floral centerpiece commanded attention, complemented by a striking interactive installation: a blooming tree adorned with hanging champagne coupes. As guests entered, they were invited to partake in a celebratory ritual—servers would ceremoniously cut a ribbon from a hanging coupe and pour champagne on the spot, offering a grand and memorable welcome.[/field]

Modern Monochromatic Wedding at Four Seasons Toronto Teeming With Hydrangeas

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]

Jenny and Liads monochromatic wedding colour palette was created with all white and green hydrangeas.

[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]Our clients envisioned a fresh modern garden for their wedding day. Although the wedding was indoors, garden elements were brought into the design and the Four Seasons Ballroom was in full bloom. Key floral features included a beautiful white four post chuppah. A garland of fresh green and white hydrangeas wrapped around the structure and designed to look like they grew there. Guests enjoyed the ceremony from under the canopy of two custom designed large ficus trees. Later the ceremony space would be converted into a formal reception area. Guests dined under the trees and were transported into a beautiful spring garden detailed with an abundance of fresh florals. [/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]Liad and I met in 2018 on Hinge! It was a new dating app at the time and after receiving a message via Instagram about my new puppy named Juliet, we hit it off immediately and the rest was history. We got engaged on May 3, 2022 after 4 years of dating. Now Juliet isn’t just my dog, she’s ours! Liad decided to take me on a surprise trip to New York City where he popped the question in Central Park in front of Bo Bridge. To get there from our hotel, he arranged what he thought was a horse and carriage ride that turned out to be a man on a bike who peddled us through Central Park while “I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing” was playing in the background. I remember Liad getting emotional; the whole experience felt like a movie. While the bike and carriage was not his original plan, it was very “us” and we wouldn’t have had it any other way! We still laugh about it to this day and have amazing photographs from our photoshoot that transpired after the proposal. Liad made it such a memorable moment that I’ll remember forever.

[field title=”Wedding Gown”]I love classic wedding gowns and wanted to wear two different ones that complemented each other, but evoked a different vibe and feeling. Having multiple wedding looks is a new trend I can get behind. It’s nice to have a princess-esque bridal ball gown moment, while also getting that classic and sleek Audrey Hepburn vibe for the ceremony and party!

My first dress that I wore during the day and for our photoshoot at Knox College was designed by Enzoani. I loved the modern, yet organic bow detail that added a feminine touch to the dress, making it a memorable first look outfit. nothing beats that feeling of a ball gown on your wedding day. My second dress that I changed into right before walking down the aisle to surprise Liad was designed by Romona Keveza. Saying yes to this dress was an easy decision and one I am so happy with. Walking down the aisle in a Ramona Keveza dress was a dream. It complemented the classic European garden feel of the wedding and will stand the test of time for years to come.

[/field]
[field title=”Bridesmaid Dresses”]My bridesmaids and I all had a fun day at Avenue 22 Bridal where they tried on dresses and chose their favourite to wear for the wedding. We decided on the brand Dessy in a satin champagne colour that would highlight our garden theme as it alluded to garden statues common in Italian and French gardens. The girls all got to choose their own dress style making sure it reflected their personal taste and was comfortable to be in all day and night for the wedding. The light colour was ideal for our summer wedding and made for a light and airy feel. My ‘maids’ of honour were my brother and sister who were also technically bridesmaids. My brother wore a tuxedo from Suit Supply with Christian Leboutin shoes. My sister while simultaneously being a bridesmaid was also one of my maids of honour so naturally, she had to stand out. She had her dress made at TOMÉ Dress Salon to complement the bridesmaids dresses along with Valentino shoes. She stuck with the champagne tones, but added a twist.

[/field]
[field title=”Groomsman Attire”]Liad looked so handsome in his tuxedo by Canali. He loved it from the moment he put it on. His cufflinks by David Yurman and shoes by Salvatore Ferragamo pulled the classic and chic look together for our wedding day. He always says the best idea he had was to have another dress shirt in case of stains and spills during the wedding! A game changer.

[field title=”Food & Drink”]With the help from our wedding planner Melissa Baum, we came up with signature drinks that reflected us as a couple. We featured a Morkie in Manhattan and The Juliet as a nod to our cute teddy bear morkie who kicked off our relationship. The Morkie in Manhattan was a classic style Manhattan cocktail that featured a sugar disk with Juliet’s face motif on it. It was a literal Morkie in our guest’s Manhattans! The Juliet was a spicy margarita to reflect Juliet’s sass with a custom stir stick of our monogram that was featured on our invitations by Smudge Designs. The food was catered by the Four Season’s Hotel and was carefully planned out. For cocktail hour we chose to serve sushi as we were going to Japan for our honeymoon. For dinner, the miso and orange glazed black cod was a crowd favourite, while the wild mushroom risotto was a nod to the European inspired theme of the wedding. Molten chocolate lava cake is our favourite dessert and we were happy to include that on our wedding menu. The gelato cart was another way we incorporated European summer vibes as gelato shops are the place to be after indulging in an Italian dinner. We had custom gelato cups made with our monogram on them, and featured our favourite flavours like pistachio and coconut which matched our decor. Our late night food was sliders, fries and truffle mac and cheese. We ate our hearts out!

[field title=”Wedding Cake”]Our cake was beautifully designed by Truffle Cake and Pastry. We worked directly with Christina to create a wedding cake that would look amazing stationed under our chuppah for the reception, while simultaneously complementing the aesthetics of it. She created a four tier white cake with rough edging and a soft green colour running through the fondant to match our wedding florals. We chose salted caramel and vanilla to keep the flavours light for a July wedding. The floating hydrangea effect was our focal point and was designed to look like a hydrangea from the chuppah was shedding its petals creating a beautiful cascading floral look.

Lush Greens and Romantic Pinks at Relais Villa Vittoria on Lake Como

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]Blush, soft pink, nude, sage, burgundy[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

Lake Como was a dream backdrop to exchange vows in a special place that has become Steve and Ashley’s second home. Their design philosophy was simple: to enhance the natural beauty without overshadowing it, creating an atmosphere of timeless romance. They chose a color palette that harmonized with the villa’s blush tones, incorporating the lush greens and neutrals to blend seamlessly. With a long list of venues to tour, Relais Villa Vittoria was the first and last stop. The couple knew it was the one the moment they stepped onto the veranda overlooking the lake. The villa is a historic nineteenth century property that was once a mulberry garden, where renowned Italian silk was produced.

Green patterned and white floral plates held a farm-to-table garden salad for course one, followed by chicken roulade and shrimp scampi.

Heather of Birds of a Flower truly outdid herself on this one, starting out by foraging lots of local flowers in bloom to add an extra special touch. Stunning flower displays were seen throughout the entire day. First, with Alie’s all white and green bouquet, and then after the ceremony we saw the family vintage jeep decked out with white flowers – creating the perfect getaway car (and some stunning images by the Nantucket lighthouse!) In the grand reception tent, every table was set with all white & clear glass centerpieces overflowing with the same blooms found in the bridal bouquet. Each table also featured a charming needle pointed table number, made to look like leaves and garden flowers. Green leaves and small tea lights were strung around the tent edges further adding to the elegance and summer charm.
