Peach & Lavender Hues Blended Together to Create a Southern Wedding Sweeter Than Sweet Tea

[section title=”The Planning”]

[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]Alexis and Stephen knew they wanted to create an elegant, soft, and refined space, with a focus on fresh florals and a delicate color palette to give their guests a garden party experience. The florals, centerpieces, colors, and tapered candles came together wonderfully to create an inviting ambiance for the evening. [/field]

Natural Wood Accents and Hot Pops of Pink Made for One Epic Cabo Wedding Weekend

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”] Hot pink, oranges, touches of greenery, and light color to match the color palette[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

It didn’t take long for us to land in Cabo San Lucas once we started talking about how we envisioned our wedding. Riley and I separately loved Cabo even before we started dating and it was also the first place we traveled to together as a couple. It’s one of our favorite places overall and meets all of our criteria to be the perfect place to get married. We knew we wanted our wedding to feel like a fun party with our closest family and friends. Instead of the more traditional or formal route, we loved the idea of getting married on a Friday and having a laid-back party during the day on Saturday. We decided on doing a destination wedding so our guests could feel like they were on vacation which in turn quickly developed into Cabo. There are so many amazing venue options in Cabo but we fell in love with Chileno Bay. It’s an incredibly beautiful setting overlooking the water, the ambiance is relaxed, and everything from the food to the people who work there is amazing. We’ll forever be grateful we had the opportunity to get married there. We wanted to make sure that our beachy wedding incorporated elements specific to Mexico to give it more of a local feel. Our planners really helped us achieve that through the details by incorporating things like pops of color, patterns from ceramic tiles, red clay pottery, and natural wood.

[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]

Riley and I have known each other since we were 10 years old. Our moms first met way back in the day lifeguarding together in high school and they’ve been close friends ever since. Growing up we’d often go visit Riley’s family for a week over the summer because we lived in different places (I’m from New York, Riley’s from a lake in Iowa). There’s actual photo evidence of Riley and me at age 10 tubing together which we’ve tried to recreate many times. During one of those trips to the lake, Riley and I developed middle-school crushes on each other that didn’t go away even as we got older. Fast forward to the summer of 2016, which is when we officially started dating. I had just graduated from college and saw Riley again for the first time since high school – we’ve been together ever since and 7 years later, we got engaged!

Riley proposed in August 2023 on the very same lake that we first met which was the most special place to celebrate the next chapter of our lives. We went out on the boat for a sunset cruise, which is one of our favorite things to do. Riley opened up a bottle of our favorite wine and put on what eventually became our wedding song before getting down on one knee. I couldn’t have asked for a more meaningful moment to capture our relationship so perfectly. After I said yes, Riley’s family pulled up on a different boat where they’d been hiding from us and watching from a distance. They also had a second surprise with them, my family, who had secretly flown in from out of town to celebrate. It was truly one of the happiest days of my life!

Mostly pink bougainvillea. Our tables may have been my favorite part because they really tied all of the decor together. It can be hard to really get a sense for what you want because there are endless options to choose from and details that don’t even cross your mind like the color of the votives. We truly couldn’t have done it without our planners who made it so much more digestible to decide between 14 different forks and napkin rings. I had originally sent Jessica and Amy photos of tables for inspiration that had a lot more going on and were very hot pink and orange. We ended up swapping that out for more subtle and simple decor that felt a lot more traditional Mexican like our glassware, ceramic table numbers, vases for the flowers, and burnt orange painted ceramic plates. To top everything off our amazing paper goods designer Katherine Jezek made the most beautiful menus.

[field title=”Special Detail #3″]

I can’t imagine what the planning process would have looked like without Jessica and Amy at Amy Abbott Events. They went above and beyond in every way to be the most incredible support system both during planning and over the wedding weekend. We were so lucky to work with such experienced planners who were local to Cabo and trusted from the start that we were in good hands. Their knowledge of Cabo and existing vendor relationships were essential to the entire weekend being so perfect. If you’re planning a destination wedding I highly recommend working with someone who knows the area well – it’s an absolute game changer. We were also incredibly grateful for how reliable Jessica and Amy were – always there for us whether we needed advice on a decision or working behind the scenes to keep things on track. They made the entire planning process fun no matter how stressed we were at certain points. It was always an important reminder to enjoy every step along the way because it will be the most special weekend of your life. Cherish the time you get celebrating with your family and friends!

Peachy Tones, Elegance, and Sunshine at Copper Rose Ranch

[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]The Bride, Jordan, wanted to embrace Montana and it played a crucial role in the design without going too rustic. It was a destination wedding for their guests and they wanted to show off the area. We really aimed for an “elegant Montana vibe”. Getting married in September Montana is already transitioning into its winter season; there was light snow already on the top of the mountains. We made the ceremony cozy with sheepskin and blankets, with cocktail hour hosted outside. Guests could watch the beginning of the sunset over the mountains. A Late Summer Wedding Set In the Countryside at Pippin Hill Farm

[section title=”The Planning”]

They spent the day before the wedding walking around the UVA campus and visiting memorable spots before celebrating with loved ones at Pippin Hill Farm the next day. [/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]On April 29th we closed on our first house together and Ryan shocked me with an engagement the next day getting me to dress up by telling me we were celebrating buying our first house. He proposed on Pier 26 in NYC with the skyline behind us! Then had a surprise engagement party that we walked to at L’Appart in Manhattan with all our close friends and family (who all shockingly managed to fly in without me knowing)! L’Appart has always been a special place for celebratory events, anniversaries, new jobs, etc. We met the chef along the way and he opened specially just for us that day! [/field]

Looking for Creative Ways to Express Gratitude to Your Guests? Check Out This List of Ideas!

Wedding gifts are more than just presents—they’re heartfelt gestures of love and support from the people who matter most to you. That’s why taking the time to say “thank you” genuinely and creatively is such an important part of celebrating your special day. Whether your guests gave you a sentimental keepsake, a generous contribution, or a practical item for your new home, expressing your gratitude shows them just how much their thoughtfulness means to you.

Here are some meaningful and fun ways to say “thank you” for your wedding gifts, from traditional handwritten notes to modern thank-you videos and even social media shout-outs.

1. Handwritten Thank-You Notes: Classic and Heartfelt

There’s something timeless about receiving a handwritten note. It shows you took the time to personally acknowledge the thought and effort behind each gift. Plus, handwritten notes make beautiful keepsakes your loved ones can cherish.

Why They Matter:

A handwritten thank-you note feels intimate and personal. It shows that you genuinely value the gesture, making your gratitude feel more meaningful.

Tips for Writing a Thoughtful Note:

  • Mention the Gift Specifically:

Make each note unique by mentioning the specific gift. For example:
“Thank you so much for the elegant glassware set! We can’t wait to use it at our next dinner party.”

  • Share How You’ll Use It:

This adds a personal touch and lets the giver know their gift is truly appreciated.

  • Keep the Tone Warm and Sincere:

Avoid generic phrases. Write from the heart. End with something like:
“Your thoughtfulness means the world to us. We’re so grateful to have you in our lives.”

Handwritten thank-you notes bring warmth and a touch of nostalgia, making them a truly special way to express your gratitude.

2. Personalized Thank-You Videos: Creative and Memorable

If you’re looking for a fun and modern way to say thank you, a creative video is a fantastic option. It’s heartfelt, personalized, and lets your loved ones see the joy their gift has brought you.

Why Videos Are Special:

A thank-you video allows you to express your gratitude more vividly, with your smile, voice, and even a little humor. It’s a more intimate way of saying thanks compared to texts or emails.

How to Make It Memorable:

  • Start with Gratitude:

Address the person by name and thank them specifically. For example:
“Hi Aunt Sarah! Thank you so much for the gorgeous cookware set—it’s absolutely perfect!”

  • Be Genuine and Have Fun:

Let your personality shine through! End with a heartfelt note, like:
“We can’t wait to cook dinner for you soon. Your thoughtfulness truly touched our hearts!”

  • Easy to Share:

Send your video through text, email, or even a private message on social media. It’s a quick and meaningful way to share your appreciation.

A thank-you video adds a personal touch and makes your gratitude even more memorable.

3. Thank-You Cards or Emails: Thoughtful and Flexible

Sometimes a traditional thank-you card or a heartfelt email is the best way to show your appreciation. These options allow you to tailor your message based on the recipient’s preferences.

Choosing the Right Format:

  • For older guests or family members, a handwritten card often feels more personal and meaningful.
  • For friends who are tech-savvy, a thoughtfully written email or digital e-card is a perfect choice.

Add a Personal Touch:

  • Including a Personal Anecdote:

Mention how the gift fits into your life or a special memory.

  • Linking to a Video or Photo:

Share a little video or a fun photo of you using or enjoying the gift. For example:
“Dear Emma and James, Thank you for the beautiful quilt. We absolutely adore curling up with it on cozy evenings. Here’s a little video to show how much we love it!”

Whether digital or handwritten, a thank-you message makes the recipient feel truly appreciated.

4. Social Media Shout-Outs: Public Gratitude with a Personal Touch

If you love sharing moments on social media, why not extend your gratitude there? A heartfelt post can make your guests feel appreciated in a fun, public way.

How to Do It:

  • Pair your message with a meaningful photo or GIF:

A snapshot of you using or wearing the gift. A fun memory from your wedding that connects to the giver.

  • Use Warm and Personalized Language:

“Huge thanks to [tag] for the stunning photo frame. It’s already housing one of our favorite wedding memories!”

  • Keep It Fun and Authentic:

Tag the giver if they’re comfortable with it, and add playful hashtags to keep the post lighthearted and engaging.

Social media gratitude can be fun, interactive, and meaningful.

5. Thoughtful Follow-Ups: Keep the Gratitude Going

Gratitude doesn’t have to end with a thank-you note. Following up later with a small gesture or a casual mention keeps the appreciation alive.

Ways to Follow Up:

  • Invite Them to Enjoy the Gift with You:

If the gift is something you can share, like dinnerware or a cookbook, invite the giver over for a special dinner or event.
“We’d love to have you over for dinner soon! You’ll get to see just how much we love using the pasta maker you gifted us.”

  • Mention the Gift Later:

Casually bring up how much you’re enjoying the gift the next time you see them. A simple comment like:
“We use the coffee maker you gave us every morning. It’s made our mornings so much brighter!”

A follow-up adds an extra layer of warmth to your gratitude.

6. Be Timely: Make Gratitude Feel Genuine

Sending your thank-you message promptly shows that you genuinely appreciate the gesture. Aim to send thank-you notes or videos within a few weeks of receiving the gift, or soon after your honeymoon.

But Don’t Stress About Timing:

Even if some time has passed, it’s never too late to express your gratitude. Simply acknowledge the delay with a warm and sincere message, like:

“I know this thank-you is a bit overdue, but every time I see the stunning vase you gave us, I’m reminded of how lucky we are to have you in our lives.”

A heartfelt thank-you, even late, is always appreciated.

Make Your Gratitude Memorable

Saying “thank you” isn’t just about good manners; it’s about celebrating the love and support your friends and family have shown you. Whether you choose a handwritten note, a fun thank-you video, or a heartfelt social media post, the most important thing is to be genuine.

Feeling inspired to try one of these ideas? Start jotting down your thoughts or filming a quick thank-you video today. Your loved ones will feel the warmth and appreciation behind every word.

[field title=”Tips To Pull Off The Look”]To bring in vintage elements such as the wrought iron garden chairs from Atlas Rentals and antique vases that are reminiscent of elements used in garden parties held in old Chateaux in the french countryside in by gone eras. [/field]

A Modern Garden Party Wedding in the Heart of the Lowcountry

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]Peach Fuzz, Champagne, White, Cream, and Sage[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]Rachel and Jack’s modern garden party wedding in Bluffton, South Carolina, was a whimsical and chic affair! With the expertise of the planning team at Hewitt Oaks, the bride curated a design that beautifully balanced the natural charm of their venue with modern elegance. The al fresco cocktail hour unfolded beneath the draping Spanish moss, perfectly embracing the essence of Southern charm while guests listened to a live saxophonist player. The reception, set beneath a clear-top tent, featured a soft glow from abundant candles and bud vases, with Pantone’s Peach Fuzz adding a playful touch throughout.

Hailing from Chicago, the couple welcomed friends and family from across the country, all eager to celebrate their vision of a springtime garden party infused with elements of South Carolina’s coastline. The wedding party was dressed to complement the palette, with groomsmen in light tan linen suits and bridesmaids in flowing champagne silk gowns. The floral arrangements, predominantly white with delicate peach accents, enhanced the various spaces across the Hewitt Oaks property, creating an understated yet striking ambiance.

Upon arriving at Hewitt Oaks, guests were greeted with champagne and an acoustic guitarist before taking their seats under the Promise Tree, the landmark Spanish moss covered oak tree on the property. After the heartfelt ceremony, the celebration continued with a lively cocktail hour featuring an array of charcuterie, a stunning 360-degree bar, and crystal chandeliers suspended from the ancient oaks. The evening culminated under the clear-top tent, where long, family-style tables encouraged mingling, and a white-and-tan checkered dance floor set the stage for an unforgettable night of dancing and celebration.[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]From the bride, “We first met in the very beginning of Covid – May 2020! Our mutual friends decided that we needed a break from the locked-down city life in Chicago, so we escaped 6 hours north to Wisconsin. Before that weekend, Rachel had given Jack a sneaky follow on Instagram, so Jack was aware that there may be some interest on her end… After a weekend of getting to know each other, we both agreed on a first date, and then started “officially” dating down the road.

Our engagement took place while Rachel’s family was visiting Chicago! Jack took her to their favorite nearby park with the beautiful city skyline and lake in the background, and he surprised her with a ring. Later that night, Rachel’s best friend (and now maid of honor) also surprised her by flying in from out of town, and Jack also planned an engagement party at our apartment with all of our mutual friends and family.”[/field]

[field title=”Wedding Gown”]Rachel’s desire for a modern Lowcountry wedding was found throughout their wedding day, including in her wedding dress choice! The bride’s crepe wedding gown by designer Sarah Seven featured a plunging neckline, open back in a ‘V’ shape, and a trumpet silhouette skirt with a flowing train. The crepe material was the perfect balance of contemporary and comfortable, allowing the bride to dance the night away with friends! [/field]
[field title=”Bridesmaid Dresses”]To accentuate the couple’s color palette of tones of peach, champagne, and white, the bridesmaids wore silk floor-length gowns in a champagne tone from Show Me Your Mumu. Each gal opted for a a different style of dress in the same silk champagne material, creating a cohesive, peachy look! [/field]
[field title=”Groomsman Attire”]The groom and groomsmen kept things classic in two piece light tan linen suits, completed by a white shirt and peach toned tie.[/field]

[board_carousel title=”Cocktail Hour”]

[section title=”The Details”]
[field title=”Food & Drink”]In keeping with the theme of their Lowcountry wedding weekend, the couple worked with the team at Hewitt Oaks to concoct a delicious menu fit for the occasion. Cocktail hour was filled with charcuterie spread tables for guests to snack on, as well as passed hors d’oeuvres including bacon-wrapped scallops. Signature cocktails were at the ready for guests entering cocktail hour, which featured a ‘Lowcountry Mule’ and a ‘Southern Sangria’. Their sweet dog Rufus, though not present for the wedding day itself, was present in their day-of paper and napkins. Guests were treated to a plated dinner under the main tent of their choosing. [/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]From the very outset of the design process, the bride collaborated closely with her planning and design team at Hewitt Oaks to create a modern, refined floral aesthetic. White roses and lush greenery were the dominant elements throughout the ceremony and bouquets, accented by soft peach tulips and roses for a subtle pop of color. The ceremony, held beneath the majestic Promise Oak Tree, was framed by two elegant white pillars adorned with overflowing compotes of white roses and delicate greenery, creating a romantic yet minimalist backdrop. To further elevate the scene, aisle markers featuring similar florals were placed at the start of each row, where guests sat in clear-backed white chairs.

For the reception, Rachel and Jack sought to highlight the grandeur of the oak trees encircling the venue. They chose a clear-top tent that allowed guests to dine beneath the stars, illuminated by twinkling café lights and chandeliers draped with greenery. The ambiance was intimate yet airy, a perfect reflection of their modern garden party vision. Guests were seated at long, king-style tables draped in luxurious white silk linens, with clear Chiavari chairs adding a touch of contemporary elegance. The place settings featured crisp white flatware, paired with peach-toned silk napkins that tied in the soft tones of the day’s palette. For the table design, single-stem bud vases, each holding a carefully selected bloom, were artfully placed along the center of each table, interspersed with pink and white taper candles, casting a soft glow over the scene. This thoughtful design created an understated yet sophisticated atmosphere, where every detail contributed to the couple’s vision of modern elegance intertwined with natural beauty.[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]In keeping with a modern theme, the couple chose a cake that paid homage to vintage cake design. A single tier, white buttercream cake in the shape of a heart, complete with hand piped icing throughout saying ‘I do!’ across the top, was the perfect nod to ‘something old’ to kickoff their reception celebration with. Instead of having a large, multi-tiered cake for all their guests, the couple chose to incorporate a fun dessert wall into their reception, filled with cookies, cupcakes, and treats galore for guests to enjoy as the sun set! [/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”][/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]The couple welcomed their guests to the dancing portion of the evening with a heartfelt thank you toast, complete with passed espresso martinis for each guest! It was the perfect caffeinated sip to start off a night filled to the brim with tearing up the dance floor.[/field]

A Biltmore Estate Affair Fit for a Royal Wedding

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]Greens, Blues, Pinks, Coral, Berry, Periwinkle
[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]It all started with the vision of getting married on the grand lawn in front of the Biltmore Estate and that the dining and dancing would be next to the incredible Blue Ridge Mountains. We wanted guests to feel the grandness of this historic home and property. It’s really a different feeling of being physically present on this property. We leaned into the old world architecture, residential interiors, and seasonal garden blooms the Biltmore Estate is known for.[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]On one of their NYC trips, Jackson promised Isabel he would take her ice skating at The Rockefeller Center (Isabel grew up figure skating). And one night, Jackson kept that promise and when their skating session ended and the crowds filtered off the ice, Jackson lead Isabel to the center leaving them two all alone on the rink. Jackson was on one knee (on skates) to pop the question. Little did Isabel know, both their parents, grandparents, and siblings were all watching from the crowd. Not only did it feel magical, it was so thoughtful.[/field]

[section title=”The Fashion”]
[field title=”Wedding Gown”]Walking into my first bridal salon mid-Covid era, I knew I wanted something strapless, timelessly elegant, and princess-like to match the grand setting of the Biltmore Estate for my ceremony dress. The very first gown I tried on was beautiful, but everything I thought I didn’t want – frilly, huge, and off-the-shoulder. I almost didn’t walk out of the dressing room — but after my mom and mother-in-law shouted through the curtain to show them anyways, my mom suggested simply tucking the sleeves in, and everything changed. I never like admitting when I’m wrong, but wow – that was my perfect princess dress. I just wasn’t able to see it at first. The Ines De Santo gown came with gorgeous rose detailing, which felt special as my middle name is Rose. The matching veil was my final selling factor – the last move that brought me to tears.[/field]
[field title=”Bridesmaid Dresses”]Choosing bridesmaid dresses was honestly the creative decision I struggled with the most. What I did know was that I wanted them to be my “Something Blue” — and that, most importantly, they felt like their most beautiful selves the whole evening. After countless hours on traditional bridesmaid sites where everything looked the same, I took a different approach. Instead of identical dresses they’d never wear again, I found various shades of blue in different fabrics to create a beautiful, dimensional cohesive look. Some chose higher necklines for modesty, and my sister-in-law rocked a gorgeous satin jumpsuit. The varying blues created this stunning, cohesive palette against the Biltmore’s dramatic backdrop. For our Saturday night celebration, I wanted pure fun – each girl picked their own hot pink dress for our “Enchanted Disco” theme, and they absolutely crushed it!
[/field]
[field title=”Groomsman Attire”]The guys looked so handsome in their classic black tuxedos for Friday’s black-tie celebration. On Saturday night, they switched things up with James Bond-esque white dinner jackets that perfectly complemented Jackson’s elevated party look while matching the disco theme.[/field]

[field title=”Food & Drink”]A true grand moment that just felt fitting at the Biltmore, was the 100 coupe champagne tower at the cocktail hour terrace overlooking the reception tent and sunset on the Blue Ridge Mountains. Nerve-racking but so fun!![/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]For Ceremony, we really wanted to showcase the grandeur of the home and let it wow as the backdrop. Instead of an arch, low lush floral wrapped around the altar stage and long aisle. The altar and aisle were elevated to still give the couple their moment and not get lost amongst all the chairs and grand lawn.

To bring intimacy into such a large tent, smaller spaces of vignettes were created along with residential elements. Such as the cozy lounges in every corner, tableside lamps, large trees, topiaries, floral china, and living green hydrangea bars. [/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]The wedding tent was so grand that the cake was created to feel proportionate. It was 6 tiers and covered in the most beautiful blooms. During cake cutting, sparklers were set off to enhance the moment which was also a fun surprise to our guests watching.[/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]We wanted the music to tell our story, so our string quartet played modern songs with a classical twist. Family walked in to Keane’s “Somewhere Only We Know,” the bridal party to Taylor Swift’s “Wildest Dreams,” and dad and I had our unforgettable march to “A Thousand Years” – which felt like the perfect soundtrack. We left as newlyweds to Ray LaMontagne’s “You Are the Best Thing.” [/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]After ceremony, wedding guests entered the Biltmore Estate to head out to the terrace for cocktail hour. During cocktail hour, guests were able to explore the main floor of the House. It was such a treat as the Estate was closed from the public and our guests had it all themselves to wonder through together. [/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]While every detail was carefully curated, it was the unplanned moments that made the day unforgettable. Take my dad, for example. Just weeks after Achilles surgery, he insisted on walking me down what felt like the longest aisle in North Carolina determined to be by my side – not just navigating the walk but also somehow managing to wrangle my massive dress! Despite his pain, there he was, steadfast and grinning. His strength and dedication perfectly captured what family means: showing up no matter what.
[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #3″]The invitation was a true labor of love. We wanted the invitation to tell a story through the different layers and pieces of the suite. It featured a lot of watercolor illustrations such as the flowers guests will see on the wedding day, portrait of the venue, Isabel and Jackson’s dog Archie, and the getaway vintage car. There were also little illustrations on the welcome party and after party details cards to give a hint to the theme of the parties. [/field]

A Pink Tropical Destination Wedding in Puerto Rico

[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

Imagine an idyllic place on the beautiful beaches of Puerto Rico, where the sun sets slowly on the horizon painting the sky in golden and pink tones. [field title=”Food & Drink”]Dinner was a wonderful combination of American and Puerto Rican cuisine. The meal included a Chicken Bacon and Cheddar Chowder, all the way to Red Snapper Fish with Plantain Chips and Mamposteao’ Rice, this last one being a flavorful one-pot meal that typically combines rice with a variety of ingredients, such as beans, pork, spices, and sometimes sweet fried plantain. The dinner ended with miniature desserts that also incorporated a bit of both cultures. Some of the miniature desserts were American Cheesecake and Puerto Rican Flan.[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]The three words to best describe this décor is Pink Tropical Romance. Staying true to the main color (pink), the florist decided to combine a selection of romantic florals like roses, peonies, baby’s breath and eucalyptus with some tropical elements such as Palm leaves and bright pink orquids to highlight the island feel. To add more pink details, the tablecloths were a light pink and the napkins, and some candles were a bright pink. All this lovely pink was combined with gold details on the Napkin rights, cake topper and chargers.[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]This Wedding Cake had a very lovely white vintage frill piping on the outside accompanied by a few flowers that matched the rest of the décor. But do not let the outer white layer of this 3-tier cake fool you, the insides were full of flavor. Each tier was one of these three flavors: Almond Brandy, Chocolate or Lemon. [/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]Ceremony Music: As the bride made her entrance just an hour before sunset, the sky was painted in hues of light gold and soft blue, casting a warm glow over the ceremony. The soft strumming of Noah Gundersen’s “Yellow (Acoustic Version)” filled the air, harmonizing beautifully with the fading light.

Reception Songs: In the soft glow of candlelight, the newlyweds danced to the rhythm of Unchained Melody by the Righteous Brothers. It was as if the world around them faded away while the guests enjoyed lyrics that spoke of longing and devotion, perfectly mirroring the love shared by the lovely couple. Jasuan gazed into Avelyn’s eyes, reflecting the deep connection that had brought them to this moment—a promise to be by each other’s side, no matter the distance or time.[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]Their wedding invitations were the perfect prelude to their big day. These not only included their color palette but also a combination of watercolor florals that matched the wedding day floral arrangements perfectly. On the back of the invitation, they included photos of their love story where avelyn was wearing a beautiful floral dress in her favorite color, Pink. [/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]Since their lovely pets could not make the trip to Puerto Rico, the couple asked their stationery designers LiliWeds to draw their dog and cat and include these drawings in the back of the dinner menus and in a section of their Wedding Newspaper that was titled: “Celebrating from Home”.

Their Wedding Newspaper also included photos of the couple, a Thank You Message for guests, the couple’s biggest relationship milestones, shout outs to the First Guest to RSVP, the family that traveled the furthest and the Wedding Party. They also dedicated a section of the Newspaper named “In Loving Memory” to honor friends and family that are no longer with them, but whose memory remains alive in their hearts. The last section of the Newspaper was a Word Search that included fun facts about the couple, like their birth cities, their hobbies and favorite spots. [/field]

[field title=”Wedding Colors”]For our wedding, we chose a color theme that felt soft and romantic. We went with blush, light pink, and ivory as the base colors, which gave everything a delicate and timeless feel. To balance the softness, we incorporated lush greenery throughout the space, bringing in a touch of nature and to breakup some of the pink to not feel too feminine. We also added gold accents throughout the space, which really elevated the whole look and complemented the beautiful old-world architecture of our venue. One of my favorite details was the abundance of candles we had all around – they created this gorgeous, romantic glow, and the light reflected off the gold vaulted ceiling, making everything feel warm and intimate. It all came together so beautifully, creating the perfect atmosphere for our day.[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

For our wedding, we wanted the design, vibe, and overall vision to feel romantic, elegant, and timeless. We chose a color palette of blush pink, light pink, and ivory, which set a soft and delicate tone for the entire day. To complement that, we brought in lush greenery and beautiful flowers, especially for our outdoor garden ceremony. The garden was the perfect backdrop, with vibrant blooms surrounding us and candles placed throughout to enhance the romantic atmosphere. Gold accents were added to the decor to elevate the elegance, tying perfectly with the stunning old-world architecture of our venue. Inside, we filled the space with candles, which not only created a glowing, intimate ambiance but also reflected off the gold vaulted ceiling, adding warmth and depth to the room. Our vision was to create a dreamy, unique and unforgettable atmosphere where every detail felt thoughtful and romantic, bringing together the beauty of nature, the elegance of gold, and a glowing, intimate setting for our special day

[field title=”Proposal Story”]Ryan proposed exactly how I imagined—just the two of us, in an intimate moment. He’d set up a story about dinner plans with his parents, and I had no idea the evening was building to the proposal. At home, surrounded by flowers, our dog Remi wore a sign that said, “Will you marry my dad?” It was the sweetest, most personal touch. Ryan also surprised me with vintage champagne and a night out at The Polo Bar in NYC. It was everything I’d hoped for—an intimate, memorable proposal full of love.[/field]

I found the perfect one at Bridal Reflections in Manhattan, designed by Leah Da Gloria. It was elegant, timeless, and fit my body beautifully, making me feel radiant and confident. The craftsmanship was stunning, but it was the comfort and how it made me feel that sold me. Later, I changed into a fun, chic Milla Nova afterparty dress for dancing. For dessert, we had gorgeous wedding cakes and an array of passed desserts that everyone loved. We also had custom “his and hers” drinks, along with plenty of other cocktails and alcohol flowing throughout the evening. To top it all off, our after-party featured NYC’s famous Joe’s Pizza and passed espresso martini shots, keeping the energy high and the celebration going strong![/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]Our wedding decor, thoughtfully designed by the talented team at LLG Events, was a true reflection of our vision for something unique and special. For the ceremony, we transformed an outdoor garden into a lush, romantic space filled with greenery and florals, despite the weather challenge. A clear tent ensured we could still have the garden feel, with a stunning floral Chuppah as the focal point. The reception space was designed to amaze from the moment guests entered, with a glowing ambiance created by an abundance of candles that reflected off the venue’s beautiful gold vaulted ceiling. To brighten the dark, old-world architecture, we incorporated lush florals in light pink, blush, and ivory, along with greenery, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The florals were abundant and vibrant, perfectly complementing the candlelight and tying everything together in a cohesive, romantic style. Personal touches, like custom signage and decorative elements, added to the unique feel, making our day unforgettable. Florals played a key role in bringing our vision to life, enhancing the beauty and elegance of every moment.[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]Our wedding cake was a stunning four-tier masterpiece, each tier offering a different delicious flavor. It was beautifully decorated with intricate sugar flowers and greenery that perfectly matched the florals throughout the venue. The combination of the elegant design and the variety of flavors made it not only a visual highlight but a delicious treat for our guests to enjoy. It was the perfect finishing touch to our celebration![/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]Our band, Jordan Kahn Orchestra was absolutely incredible, keeping everyone on the dance floor all night long. They brought an unmatched energy, even joining guests on the floor to sing and interact, with their instruments out among the crowd, creating an unforgettable vibe. For the after-party, we switched things up by moving from the 11-piece band to a DJ, who played our curated playlist filled with all of our favorite songs and artists, keeping the celebration going strong and ensuring the party never stopped![/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]The most special and anticipated moment of our wedding day was definitely our ceremony. We had been excited (and a little nervous!) to get married in front of our closest family and friends, and the emotion in the air was palpable. Reading our personalized vows and officially becoming husband and wife, surrounded by the people we love, made the moment incredibly meaningful. Another unforgettable memory was walking down the aisle and seeing Ryan waiting for me, looking so handsome and excited—it was everything I had imagined. Beyond the ceremony, a major highlight was dancing with our family and friends. The joy, energy, and laughter on the dance floor were magical, and it truly felt like the perfect celebration of our love.[/field]

A Gilded Age Inspired Wedding at the George Peabody Library

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]dusty pink, pistachio, grey, ivory and gold[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]The wedding’s aesthetic, beautifully captured through the photography of Nikki Santerre and the videography of Anna + Mateo, seamlessly blended the opulence of the Gilded Age with a touch of playful charm. Every detail, from the decor to the written materials, reflected this unique fusion. Guests were encouraged to dress in “literary chic with a romantic twist,” perfectly complementing the thoughtfully curated yet fun-loving atmosphere of the summer Sunday celebration.[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]Daniel proposed at the same table in their favorite restaurant (Le Bouchon du Grove) where they had their first date, making it both a surprise and deeply meaningful. He hid a toi et moi ring, crafted from her mother’s and grandmother’s diamonds, in a napkin, symbolizing years of love and strong marriage – a perfect reflection of their hopes and dreams for the future. [field title=”Wedding Gown”]Emily’s wedding dress was an instant choice – the second she tried it on, and she knew it was “the one.” Inspired by the Gilded Age and reminiscent of her favorite painting, “Madame X” by John Singer Sargent, the gown connected her love for fashion history. Coupled with a Vera Wang veil and vintage-inspired earrings by Asheville designer Jeffrey Burroughs, it felt like a perfect blend of timeless elegance and personal significance.[/field]

[section title=”The Details”]
[field title=”Food & Drink”]The couple’s signature drink, thoughtfully named after their beloved dog, Julep, was a charming nod to Daniel’s Kentucky roots. As a true bourbon connoisseur, the groom has a deep appreciation for the spirit, so it only felt right to put a creative twist on the classic mint julep. The result was a refreshing Blackberry Mint Julep—a delightful blend of smooth Woodford Reserve Bourbon and a house-made blackberry mint simple syrup, served over ice and finished with a fragrant sprig of mint. This bespoke cocktail not only honored Daniel’s heritage but also offered guests a taste of something unique and unforgettable. To let guests know about their speciality cocktail, we had a local artist, Steph Gould, create a watercolor of their dog.

As the evening drew on, guests were treated to a late-night indulgence in the form of mini cannolis, a sweet, nostalgic offering from Vaccaro’s, a cherished Baltimore family favorite. These bite-sized delicacies were the perfect end to a perfect celebration, delighting everyone with their creamy filling and crisp, golden shells. They were displayed in custom trays made by White Glove Rentals, that said “The Eberts”. [/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]Family members carried bouquets of calla lilies, a deeply meaningful gesture that paid tribute to the very first bouquet Daniel gave Emily on their first date, and again when he proposed. These elegant blooms, with their graceful curves and timeless beauty, symbolized not just love, but the continuity of their journey together. Emily, with her keen eye for design, always gravitated toward arrangements that featured a touch of asymmetry or an unexpected, idiosyncratic detail. It was the little imperfections that made each piece feel more personal, more unique—much like their love story itself.
The tables were styled to evoke the opulent yet eclectic feel of the Gilded Age, infused with a sense of maximalism that felt both bold and romantic.

The long, sweeping tables were adorned by Kate Campbell Floral with low, full floral runners that stretched from one end to the other, creating a lush, continuous ribbon of color and life. These runners, brimming with vibrant blooms and verdant greens, imbued the space with a soft, romantic atmosphere, further enhanced by the glow of twinkling cafe lights strung above. The soft golden light, suspended from stack to stack, bathed the entire room in a warm, intimate glow, turning the venue into a dreamlike setting where every detail—from the flowers to the lighting to the carefully chosen mismatched elements—came together to create a celebration of love, beauty, and thoughtful design.[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]Emily’s wedding cake became a family project, as she dreamed of a buttercream cake reminiscent of Publix but couldn’t make it work logistically because of the wedding location. Her family, including her niece and nephew, scoured the Baltimore area with blind taste tests, ultimately finding Fresh Bakery that delivered a buttercream that, in Emily’s eyes, surpassed even her original vision.[/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]Emily and Daniel’s wedding ceremony was deeply personal, officiated by Emily’s cousin, Rabbi Josh Franklin. The couple exchanged self-written vows, both unknowingly centered around defining words, reflecting their shared love of language while the programs were designed to resemble books. The chuppah was covered with Emily’s pink tallit from her bat mitzvah, adding a personal and spiritual touch. The couple also drank from a family Kiddish cup that has been used in Emily’s family weddings for over a century, symbolizing the continuity of tradition and the blessing of their union.

Their first dance was to “Turning Page” by Sleeping at Last, symbolizing their view of love as an ongoing story and a tribute to the magnificent library setting. A special moment occurred when the band honored Emily’s parents by playing their wedding song, celebrating their 43rd anniversary that same weekend.[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]Emily and Daniel’s wedding was a heartfelt celebration of their shared passion for language and etymology. As a unique gesture, they selected a meaningful word for each guest, crafting personalized definitions that reflected the individual’s significance in their lives. These words were beautifully printed by local stationery designer, MLC Designs, on a custom bookmark, which served as both the guest’s escort card and a thoughtful favor.[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]Adding a whimsical touch, they shared their tradition of “lucky cows”—small tokens they had exchanged early in their relationship to symbolize their bond—by inviting guests to take one home for their own good fortune. [/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #3″]During a visit to tour the venue together, Emily leaned in and whispered to her planner and designer, LynnAaron with Nouvelle Weddings, that she wanted one of those charming “Ring for Champagne” signs. In the end, not one, but two signs were created, each perfectly paired with a stunning floral arrangement and a their signature drink sign. These eye-catching touches were strategically placed on the couple’s 360-degree bar, ensuring that guests could easily ring for bubbly as they sipped their favorite cocktails, adding a touch of whimsy and refinement to the evening’s festivities.[/field]

[field title=”Proposal Story”]Matt proposed in front of Saint Peter’s Basilica, which was incredibly special and meaningful, especially to my mom, who’s Catholic, and to both our families. It was such a beautiful moment. Afterward, we embarked on a journey along the Amalfi Coast, visiting Sorrento, Positano, and Capri. Capri was our favorite, and we spent a few days in each place. We had the most magical dinners, enjoying the amazing food and sharing our engagement news, which often led to free champagne and treats. It was absolutely lovely.[/field]

[field title=”Wedding Gown”]Choosing my wedding dress was quite an adventure. In the back of my mind, I always admired Monique Lhuillier’s lace designs, but I had no clear idea of the style I wanted. I’m not the type who always dreamed about her big wedding day, so I didn’t have any preplanned ideas. I went dress shopping for just one day with my mom and mother-in-law in New York. We visited several big stores, and Monique Lhuillier was our last stop. My mom couldn’t make it, so it was just me and my friend Lauren, one of my bridesmaids. When I tried on the dress, I wasn’t sure about the drop waist, but as soon as I saw myself in it, I was in love. It was classy and elegant with long sleeves and a high neck, yet also sexy with a slightly sheer bodice. I was obsessed. Although I initially hesitated to commit because of another dress in mind, after some reflection, I emailed the Monique store that night and claimed the dress. I even added an extra two feet of fabric to the veil for a more dramatic look. My wedding shoes were blue, the perfect Cinderella princess shoes, even though I never imagined having such a big wedding.

My mom went through quite a journey to find her dress too. She was very particular and wanted something that made her feel like an Oscar trophy mom. Eventually, she found a stunning gold dress that made her look fabulous and confident. She absolutely crushed it.

[/field]
[field title=”Bridesmaid Dresses”]For the bridesmaids’ dresses, I leaned into my newfound love for pink, even though it wasn’t originally my favorite color. I wanted all my bridesmaids to feel their best, so I chose different shades of dusty rose for their dresses. I allowed them to pick whatever style they wanted, whether it was feathers, sequins, metallics, or anything else, as long as it was in the dusty rose color palette. This approach gave them the freedom to choose dresses they loved and felt comfortable in, and the overall look was beautiful and unified. Inspired by Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin’s wedding, I ensured the decor, including the chairs, was elegant yet simple, creating a chic and elevated ambiance. The wedding decor featured green and white elements, and the dusty rose dresses blended perfectly, adding a lovely contrast.[/field]

The flowers were arranged in a way that complemented the venue’s natural beauty and added a touch of romance. We had 2 large and lush trees as centerpieces in 2 of the focal tables that were surrounded with lounge furniture used as guest seating. A structure was constructed over the dancefloor with hanging greenery and shiny disco balls to give it a modern and festive look. Soft, ambient lighting was used to create a warm and inviting atmosphere. The tables were adorned with candles to give it a romantic flair.

[field title=”Proposal Story”]In the midst of the uncertainty the 2020 pandemic brought, it turned out to be the year I was fortunate enough to meet my other half.

My first impression of Elizabeth (shoutout to the Hinge dating app for the opportunity) was that she had a smile that could light up a room and an authentic sense of self that was immediately transparent. When I discovered her love for college football, specifically for Ole Miss Rebels, I knew I had just found my lottery ticket.

Fast forward to January 2023, Elizabeth and I had shared our love not with each other, but also with our newly inherited Bombay cat, Abner. At this point, we had traveled around the world, experienced the joys of life and both ready to embrace the next chapter. I had planned a dinner at our favorite local steakhouse in Atlanta but without her knowing her parents would be there waiting for us. On the way to dinner, I detoured to our favorite park under the guise of wanting to show her a picturesque update of the walking trail. I had pre-placed a note under the park bench that I then told Elizabeth to grab. When she opened the note, it read “close your eyes” and at that point I went to one-knee and said, “now open them”. It was a perfectly private moment shared by just the two of us.

Today, I’m married to the love of my life, and she’s my best friend, my confidante, and my biggest supporter. We’ll navigate life’s ups and downs together, knowing that we always have each other to lean on.[/field]

Complementing this exquisite dress was a dramatic cathedral-length veil, which cascaded gracefully behind her, creating a breathtaking and regal silhouette. For the main course, attendees were treated to a choice of four delectable options: Seasoned Grilled Jumbo Asparagus topped with crumbled goat cheese, Honey Dijon Chicken served over fluffy mashed potatoes, Cajun-seasoned Gulf shrimp resting on Monterey Jack cheese grits, or succulent Beef Short Ribs finished with a rich Coca-Cola demi-glace. This variety ensured that every palate was catered to, making the dining experience both satisfying and enjoyable.

A Colorful Alfresco Affair at SCAD Ivy Hall in Georgia

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]Fall jewel tones. The bridesmaids wore various gowns in shades of blue and green and carried florals in creams and mauves with pops of plum. Custom decor added accent pops of teal and chartreuse inspired by the stationery suite designed by artist, Haley Wood.[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

A classic, colorful, chic, formal, alfresco affair with SCAD Ivy Hall as the backdrop and design inspiration. The ceremony took place on the garden lawn. The bride loves old homes and architecture so the glamorous SCAD Ivy Hall was a natural choice. Designed by noted architect Gottfried L. Norrman in 1883, Ivy Hall is a fine representation of Victorian architecture and is situated conveniently in midtown Atlanta. The jewel tones of the red brick and green and gold detailing served as a beautiful jumping-off point for the complimentary color palette.

[field title=”Proposal Story”]We were driving to my parents’ house to spend the night because (I believed) we were going to my friend’s baby’s baptism the next morning. My mom asked us to stop at our family farm on the way to their house to discuss a very real project that was underway she wanted me to see — very believable. This was right around sunset and I could tell it was going to be a good one. Matt asked if I wanted to ride the golf cart to my favorite spot on the property — a beautiful field with a hill and a good view of the sunset. At this point I kind of thought something was up. We sat there for a few minutes and then he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him with a ring we’d designed together using the diamond from my grandmothers engagement ring. I said yes and we sat watching the rest of the sunset relishing in the moment and then headed back to the farm house. Waiting for us were Matt’s parents and several of our closest friends waiting to congratulate and celebrate with us. That was the bigger shock — all of those people in on the plan and learning that the baptism had been made up all to get me to the farm. Matt knows how special of a place it is to me and he wanted the moment to feel personal and perfect for us — I’d say he did an impeccable job![/field]

[field title=”Wedding Gown”]For my wedding dress, I knew I wanted something classic but with a twist. I had fallen for so many of Lela Rose’s dresses online and I went to Kelly’s Closet specifically because they carried her gowns. Throughout the dress shopping process, I was drawn to lots of different floral elements, some 3D, some more embedded in the fabric, but I knew that element would be there. And then I found myself repeatedly liking an off-the-shoulder neckline. When I finally tried on my dress — in Lela’s signature Magnolia fabric — I knew I’d found my dream dress. The silhouette felt so classic but the fabric made it feel like me.[/field]
[field title=”Bridesmaid Dresses”]Picking out the bridesmaids dresses was a really fun process and one of the first things that brought my vision to life. I liked the fully mismatched bridesmaids look, and have seen it done so well, but I knew the colors I was going for could be hard to coordinate/easy to clash if that wasn’t done in person. I also knew that unknown would be a challenge for me to let go of so I decided to pick 3 dresses for 3 of my bridesmaids each. The Sachin and Babi Jade fabric is my absolute favorite color and was an easy place to start. It took some trial and error, but my maid of honor and I went in person to play around with a couple options to find another solid and a pattern that paired together well, in similar material. The Amsale dresses felt like the same tone as the lighter dress, just 3 or 4 shades down the paint chip. And I loved that the Reformation dresses had a floral pattern to tie back to my dress. I also gifted my bridesmaids earrings in a floral design that gave them all something in common and were very reminiscent of the florals on my dress.[/field]
[field title=”Groomsman Attire”]Matt really enjoyed the process of researching suit and tuxedo styles ahead of our wedding, and ultimately he decided he wanted two looks for the night. Who among us can blame him? He went with a classic black tux for the ceremony and all of our portraits, but he changed into a white dinner jacket for the reception. Both are classic looks fit for a groom but the dinner jacket really matched the mood of our outdoor wedding at this beautiful southern old house. The outfit change was a big crowd pleaser. [/field]

The Blueprint for Making a Major Statement With Bold Color on Your Wedding Day

[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

We wanted something unique, bold, loud, colorful, and FUN. We wanted something that really embodied who we are as a couple and wanted our guests to feel that in every aspect of the design and detail. We really wanted something fun and different which is why we went so colorful. Also, our wedding being in the beginning of spring time played a part in deciding on color too. Alex took that up a notch by suggesting every event be one colorway. The welcome party was purple, wedding day yellow, pool party orange and Shabbat dinner orange.

Fabric/description: Tuileries wedding dress
How did you know it was the one? At first I thought I wanted something super simple, which just shows how much you change your mind through the wedding planning process! I walked up to Warren Barron Bridal in Dallas, which was the second location I tried dresses on at, and saw the Tuileries dress in the window. My mom and I stopped in our tracks obsessing over how gorgeous it was but agreed that it’s not a true traditional wedding dress. I tried on one very simple white strapless gown and was encouraged to try on a floral veil to spice it up. I remember asking the woman helping me, “is it okay to wear a floral veil?! Doesn’t it have to be all white?” She looked at me and said, “this is your wedding, you can do and wear whatever you want.” From that moment on something clicked – I did not have to keep with any traditions that did not fit, I could plan my wedding however I wanted and wear whatever I wanted. I immediately asked to try on the dress that was in the window, and that was it for me! I felt the most like me in that dress. My mom cried, I cried, it was perfect.[/field]

[section title=”The Details”]
[field title=”Food & Drink”]We wanted our food selection to have all of our favorites. We served short ribs and salmon for the main course. The happy hour had plenty of appetizers. To refuel our guests before the after party, we had French fries, donuts and espresso martinis passed out on the dance floor. There was a dessert table with all sorts of goodies like macaroons, donuts, cakes and cookies placed at the back of the reception room. And for late night snacks, the after party had all of the favorites from fried Mac and cheese balls, sliders and more French fries of course.
Did you have a signature cocktail? We had signature cocktails at each event to match the color of the event. Tying in all the monochromatic event designs was done strategically, and one way was with the signature cocktails. Offered exclusively at entry, it excited guests to see what was done whether the event was the formal wedding, intimate Shabbat dinner, or casual pool party.

Wednesday: champagne with pea flower
Thursday: lemon drop martinis
Friday pool party: blood orange margaritas[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]My bouquet was monochromatic yellow and artfully designed by none other than
Remi + Gold. It was important to have it pop out as a statement to align with the drama of the yellow platform aisle, yellow aisle florals, and yellow tones strategically placed in the reception. My boutonniere was also monochromatic yellow tied off with a pink ribbon. The shade of pink perfectly matched our ceremony and reception chairs, as well as our customized Kippahs.[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]We decided to not have a wedding cake, we did not want to do
anything to interrupt the flow of the party.[/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]Picking the song Annie would walk down the aisle too. We chose “Across the Room” by Odesza and Leon Bridges. This song was playing while Scott first told Annie he was falling in love with her.[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]Annie was originally skeptical about choosing a hotel as their wedding venue, she wanted a small intimate feel, nothing too traditional. As none of our guests live in Austin and it being a four day long wedding extravaganza, it was really important for us to make sure our guests could experience Austin to the fullest while getting to know one another (this would be the first time our friends and most family members would be meeting!). We thought what better way to see Austin than stay in the heart of it, in the middle of all the action, right on South Congress Street. South Congress Hotel was the perfect fit, it gave us the small intimate boutiquey feeling we wanted, where our guests would be constantly bumping into each other in the hotel and on the street and had all of the amenities to fuel the four day long party. Not to mention the chic design of the hotel, fabulous rooftop pool and delicious multiple restaurants.
Geraldine’s was also an easy choice for us. We have stayed at Hotel Van Zandt multiple times and always loved the feel and vibe of Geraldine’s.[/field]

A Minimalist Approach to Bridal Fashion, No Matter Your Style

From layers and layers of tulle to dazzling, embroidered lace, and even labyrinthine beadwork (or sequins, if you’re partial to those little bits of sparkle, like me), you can find any number of wedding dresses that are extra. The “Go Big or Go Home” mantra has certainly had its way as far as dress design is concerned. While that’s all well and good, perhaps you find yourself desiring a more no-frills sort of approach to your dream dress: understated but show-stopping nonetheless.

If this sounds truer to form for you, we have good news! If you’re looking for a ballgown or a slip dress, a minimalist, elegant aesthetic can be easily showcased, whether you’re sending out boho vibes or are more of a traditional sort of bride-to-be. Driven by clean lines, a simple aesthetic, and, of course, the highest quality craftsmanship, these wedding dresses prove you can go minimalist, no matter your style.

Edgy
Daring necklines and crisp angles will define for the more bold, avant-garde bride. Consider a dress with unexpected layering for an offbeat style that turns heads. The ultimate statement in chic.

Modern
For a more contemporary spin on classic white, unexpected texture might lead the way. A scalloped edge or high-low hemline brings a fresh, new take to the big day’s dress, while also ensuring that the pared-back gown endures long past the wedding day.

Princess
Who says a princess gown has to be all sparkle and shine? A full skirt that’s still light on layers can go a long way, especially when paired with more refined, monochromatic beadwork.

Traditional
A traditional shape is one that will never get old. While lace is generally more delicate, its texture and intricacy can bring a polished sort of detailing to the forefront of the dress’s design. Proving once again that you don’t have to forfeit sophistication by embracing a minimalist approach to nuptial fashion.

Glamorous
Sweeping trains and vintage-inspired silhouettes might characterize the allure of what’s become the glamorous style of bridal fashion. Perhaps let adornment take a back seat while the satin and silk do the talking; showcase the effect that structured composition and pristine fabrics can undeniably have on glamour.

Boho
Bohemian gowns are typically set apart by their commitment to all things flowy and unrestricted. As a staple in the market, these effortless, albeit unconventional dresses should still have their day to shine in a way that lets them do it all on their own.

A Backyard Wedding in LA With Hollywood Regency Style

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]This wedding had a rich, high-contrast color palette of black, white, and dark green, as well as brass accents. The ceremony color pallette was a bit softer, with the focus on the white and green florals and whimsical wooden chairs. Whereas the reception space brought a dark and moody color palette to life. Though keeping the green and white florals, a black tent, black and white checkered dance floor, and dark green velvet linens transitioned the guests to a bold, and sexy design as the sun went down.[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]Kate and Chris’ vision was to have an elegant home wedding with a whimsical, floral-heavy design and accents that reminded them of Hollywood regency. Their beautiful family home was the perfect backdrop for this wedding – the ceremony florals arched over the adorable blue door, and then spilled down the front steps and onto the brick path. A large tree graced the space, provided shade to keep guests comfortable during the ceremony. A curving brick pathway leading to the front door made for a perfect floral aisle! Finally, the backyard of this home took on a complete transformation. Where there was once a backyard pool, guests were surprised to find a beautiful clear-top tent. A floor was constructed over the pool, and entire backyard to provide ample space to seat Kate and Chris’ beloved guests.[/field]

[field title=”Food & Drink”]Tres LA Group served up crafted cocktails, a lavish cheese and charcuterie station, and a delicious plated dinner. There were also tray passed late night snacks and a wood fired pizza station.[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]For this floral-forward design, Tyler Speier Events designed a ceremony that overflowed with white roses, hydrangea, and delphinium. The long, curvy aisle was lushly lined with tall white florals and a hint of blue. The flowers were constructed to “grow” from the ground, up the front porch, and arching over the front door, framing the family home’s beautiful architecture. [/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]Instead of a traditional wedding cake, Kate & Chris opted to serve Tres LA Group’s signature Icebox shots. Guests had the delectable options of either a Vanilla Panna Cotta with Seasonal Berry Preserves, or Chocolate Pot de Creme with Whipped Cream.[/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]Kate and Chris kept the energy high, walking in for their grand entrance to “Lovely Day” by Bill Withers, then giving a heartfelt thank you speech before dinner. [/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]Chris, the groom, is a big fan of Formula 1 racing. Little details were sprinkled throughout the wedding that alluded to this. West Coast Music played the Formula 1 Theme Song for his processional! It was so unique and fun. Also, the escort cards had custom watercolored Formula 1 race cars, as did the table numbers. [/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]After the traditional dances, Kate changed out of her beautiful gown into a second bridal look, something more comfortable for dancing late into the night![/field]
