Stephanie’s vision was for a traditional romantic look inspired by the gardens and the beautiful natural setting of Cornwell Manor.

[field title=”Proposal Story”]

“On 7th June 2023 (exactly four years after we met), Rich surprised me with the most magical proposal in Carcassonne, a story-book walled city in France that I’d dreamed of visiting since childhood. After a castle tour that he’d planned down to the last detail, we returned to our hotel, where our terrace overlooked the ramparts and towers. This set the scene for Rich to ask me to marry him, with a ring he’d designed entirely by himself, making it even more personal and unforgettable. “

For the wedding day and ceremony itself, a delicate Italian floral lace ballgown from Zuhair Murad with an off-the-shoulder neckline and long, sheer lace sleeves. The matching veil was cathedral-length, reaching beyond the train of the gown and trimmed with matching lace to mirror the embroidery of the gown. After the ceremony, the veil was removed and an oversized tulle bow was added at the waist, cascading down the back. For her evening look, Stephanie chose a strapless mini-dress from Elie Saab, embroidered with sparkling beads and sequins, sculpted in soft ruching that echoed flower petals.

A Palm Springs Inspired Wedding on Amelia Island with Tropical Texture and Family Heart

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]

A variety of tropical colors and bamboo. Bamboo details were woven throughout the wedding design, with reception chargers, candles, larger-than-life lanterns, and baskets galore – all made from bamboo.

[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

From the planner: “When your vibe is Palm Springs but your heart is in Amelia Island: Torn between two coasts, we brought the desert to the dunes with sculptural greens, tropical touches, and all the texture. Bamboo lanterns, breezy linens, and blooms for days. If summer had a personality, it would definitely be this setup.” From the bride: “Amelia Island has always felt like home for my family, so there was a sense of peace that day, being surrounded by family history. My dad grew up vacationing in Amelia and passed that tradition down to our family. My sister also recently got married on the island and relocated there. We can’t wait to continue passing down memories of the island to future generations.”

Drew proposed in the middle of the desert in Joshua Tree during sunset, one of our favorite places.

Molly grew up singing with her best friend, so she asked her to sing the song she walked down the aisle to. She composed a mash-up of “Can’t help falling in love” and “Stargazing” with a string quartet.

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]

Molly wanted to bring her and Drew’s love for the Southwest (note the groom’s cacti tattoo on his hand!) to the East Coast, so the wedding design was all about bringing the desert to Amelia Island beach. From the bride: “We worked to incorporate Drew’s parents, who had passed into the style as well. Drew wore a turquoise bolo tie as an ode to his father and the desert. We had yellow roses as a part of the florals for Drew’s mom, as it was her favorite flower (yellow roses also on their chairs).”

We are big dog lovers, so we incorporated our dogs into the illustrations for the signature cocktails.

Amelia Island is an important place for the family, as the bride’s sister also got married on the island, and their family has been coming here for years. Molly decided to get ready at her parents’ home.

A Grand Cape Cod Celebration Inspired by Italian Style and Maximalist Details

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]Black, white, green[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

Both entering their second marriage, Nicole and Tucker wanted to celebrate in a grand, unforgettable fashion! Bringing Italy to Cape Cod, the couple opted for a maximalist design style with neutral tones of white, olive green, and dusty blue decorating Tucker’s seaside family home.

[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]From a dating app to a proposal in the City of Love — Nicole and Tucker’s story truly showcases the transformative power of finding the right person! After connecting online, the pair went on their first date at a local steakhouse in Boston. The connection was instant, and they made things official right away! Following a Christmas trip to Germany with Nicole’s family, Tucker whisked her away for a few days alone in Paris to ring in the new year. He popped the question while walking along the Pont Alexandre III bridge overlooking the Eiffel Tower. Unbeknownst to Nicole, a local photographer was waiting in the wings to capture the moment she said yes![/field]

[field title=”Florals & Decor”]The festivities kicked off with a romantic waterfront ceremony on the lawn as the newlyweds tied the knot under a lush floral arch of white roses and hydrangeas. Under a large, structured glass tent, elegant crystal chandeliers hung above rows of guest tables and a black-and-white checkered dance floor. Crisp white lace linens, gold-rimmed china, hurricane vases with taper candles, and centerpieces of white and baby blue florals came together for a clean, sophisticated look.[/field]

Outside of the beautiful family, the showstopper of the reception was undoubtedly the massive berry-topped cake brought out for everyone to enjoy!

One of the sweetest moments of the day was at the reception when Tucker took the dance floor with Nicole’s 8-year-old daughter, Emma, who stole the show dancing to Taylor Swift’s “Love Story.” When she wasn’t showing off her moves, Emma was taking photos with a Polaroid camera provided by the photographer – and she crushed it!

A Classic Italian Villa Wedding at La Foce with Modern Elegance and Gentle Movement

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]blush, cream, baby blue[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

Sara and Lucas envisioned their wedding as a blend of timeless elegance and relaxed romance, thoughtfully designed to create a warm, inviting experience for their guests. Set against the backdrop of La Foce’s classic Italian charm, the celebration featured a soft, neutral palette with lush florals and flowing fabrics that added texture and movement. Their goal was to strike a balance between Italian tradition and modern style to honor their heritage and the historic beauty of the villa while incorporating contemporary touches for a fresh, elevated feel. Every detail, from custom monogrammed fans to the subtle Roman plaster textures in the stationery, was chosen with care to create a day that felt effortless, intimate, and beautifully cohesive both for the couple and for their guests.

[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]What started as a casual dinner plan with Lucas’ cousin, the same cousin who had introduced them eight years earlier, quickly became a night Sara and Lucas would never forget. Sara arrived at Lucas’ house expecting to have a quick drink before heading out, but as she walked into the backyard, she was surprised by a beautiful path of candles and flowers leading to an arch that read “It was always you.”

Lucas was waiting at the end of the path and got down on one knee. After the proposal, they shared an intimate dinner in the backyard with both of their parents and Sara’s dog, Bella, by their side. Though Bella passed just two weeks later, Sara feels grateful that she was there to be part of such a special moment—one that marked the start of a new chapter with Lucas.[/field]

[field title=”Wedding Gown”]

For their August wedding in the heart of Tuscany, comfort was important, especially with the Italian summer heat in full force. Sara chose a gown by Ines Di Santo that struck the perfect balance between timeless sophistication and effortless wearability. Crafted from intricate lace, the gown embodied classic Italian romance, with a scalloped hem and dramatic low back adding just the right amount of impact. The silhouette was not only flattering but also allowed her to move with ease throughout the day’s celebrations. To complete the look, Ines designed a custom, nearly 20-foot veil edged in delicate lace to mirror the gown’s detailing, paired with a slimmer blusher that framed Sara’s face in soft, romantic layers. After dinner, as the sun set and the dancing began, Sara changed into a second look that reflected her love of both modern lines and romantic textures. Wanting to feel free and comfortable on the dance floor, she opted for a sleek silk gown by Jenny Yoo, customized with an asymmetrical draped sleeve and a high slit. The structured corset bodice offered a flattering fit, while a row of delicate buttons down the back added a subtle, charming detail. Light, elegant, and movement-friendly, the second gown was made for celebration, carrying her through the night with ease and style.

Sara and Lucas curated a wedding menu that delivered “wow!” with every bite, offering guests a memorable culinary experience that reflected the richness of the Tuscan setting. The meal began with a refreshing grilled peach and burrata salad, followed by a duo of pasta courses that set the tone for indulgence: handmade ricotta and lemon ravioli served in a delicate asparagus cream, and a vibrant red pepper risotto finished with burrata foam and a touch of pistachio. For the main course, guests selected between two options: a sea bass finished with a champagne and lemon sauce, or a tender beef fillet accompanied by a robust Chianti Classico reduction. As a thoughtful nod to the region, the couple served Tignanello, a celebrated Tuscan red wine, adding a luxurious complement to the meal’s flavours. The beverage experience was equally intentional, with signature cocktails crafted to reflect the couple’s personal tastes. Lucas’s signature old-fashioned and Sara’s gin and elderflower cocktail anchored the menu, which was divided between cocktail hour and post-dinner service. Guests enjoyed an array of spritzes, from timeless Aperol and limoncello variations to a refreshing Hugo and a regional peach-infused Tuscan spritz, each drink capturing the celebratory spirit and sun-soaked charm of the day.

[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]

The florals and décor thoughtfully echoed the natural beauty and charm of the Italian setting. A palette of neutral blooms, accented with subtle touches of powder blue, set a serene yet sophisticated tone for the day. Antique-inspired Italian cutlery, delicate glassware, and softly flickering candles introduced a sense of vintage elegance, while fairy lights hidden among the trees cast a gentle glow over the dinner area, adding warmth without overpowering the scene. Wooden chairs lent a rustic, Tuscan feel that harmonized effortlessly with the historic villa. The stationery design featured a Roman clay texture, with custom pocket menus personalized for each guest. Inside, softly shaped menus highlighted blue floral illustrations and a light steel blue clay backdrop that mirrored the floral arrangements. Each menu was finished with a French blue silk ribbon and a gold floral grommet, while powder blue napkins printed with a charming floral toile pattern tied the entire tablescape together, creating an atmosphere that felt both elevated and inviting.

[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]

The evening concluded with a memorable and interactive cake show, as Galateo’s pastry chefs crafted a stunning millefoglie layered with Chantilly cream, chocolate drops, and fresh berries. As the chefs expertly assembled the dessert in front of all the guests, Sara and Lucas joined in to add the final touches. The atmosphere was filled with laughter and cheers as friends and family gathered to watch the creation come to life, turning a classic Italian tradition into a shared experience. The moment highlighted the craftsmanship of the pastry team and transformed the wedding cake into a true centerpiece of the celebration.

[/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]

As guests arrived at the villa, a live string quartet set the tone with classical music that beautifully complemented the elegance of the ceremony. Later, their spirited renditions of modern favorites during the cocktail hour added a playful, Bridgerton-inspired twist that delighted guests of all ages. Sara and Lucas had one clear priority for their reception: that it be fun for everyone. The music was thoughtfully curated to span generations and tastes, from lively Italian dance hits like “Sara Perche Ti Amo” to nostalgic ’90s and early 2000s favorites such as “Gasolina” and “Gimme! Gimme! Gimme!” This dynamic blend kept energy high and the dance floor full, creating an atmosphere of pure celebration that carried through the entire day.

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]

To welcome guests and offer relief from the Tuscan heat, Sara and Lucas thoughtfully provided chilled Prosecco and custom monogrammed fans upon arrival at the ceremony. This small yet meaningful gesture added a personal touch while ensuring guests felt comfortable and cared for. It set the tone for a celebration defined by hospitality and attention to detail to create a memorable first impression that carried throughout the day.

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]One of the most unforgettable moments of the evening came during dinner, when a surprise saxophonist burst onto the scene, playing none other than Careless Whisper. As the smooth, iconic notes filled the air, guests erupted with excitement—clapping, cheering, and dancing. The unexpected performance brought an electric energy to the group and added a playful, unforgettable twist to the evening before they moved to the dancing area later on.[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #3″]

One of the most memorable moments of the after-party came when Lucas and Sara jumped into the pool, soon joined by a group of their closest friends. What began with Lucas’ friends making a splash quickly turned into an all-out celebration once Sara took the plunge… sparking a wave of excitement that had guests eagerly following suit in their gowns. The spontaneous dip added a carefree, joyful energy to the evening, with laughter and cheers echoing well into the night. It was a highlight that perfectly captured the fun-loving spirit of the celebration, and one that guests are still talking about long after the wedding day.

An Italian-Style Wedding with Poolside Lounging and a Dreamy Tennis Court Reception

[section title=”The Planning”]

[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

Carly & Greg’s wedding embraced a vintage Italian-inspired design that feels both timeless and inviting. The ceremony took place on the front lawn beneath a beautiful tree, creating an organic, lush backdrop. Guests relaxed by the pool for cocktail hour, lounging on ottomans and sipping custom cocktails. For the reception, the tennis court was transformed into a romantic, open-air haven. Soft white carpeting and twinkling café lights created a welcoming atmosphere. The color palette, combined with the vintage details, allowed the natural beauty of the setting to shine through.

[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]

On their first anniversary, Greg planned a heartfelt day that beautifully echoed their first date. They retraced their steps through the Arroyo, just as they had when it all began, followed by a delicious steak dinner. Once home, they shared a slice of the cake that Carly had baked in celebration of their anniversary. As a romantic playlist filled the room, they slow danced to ‘Can’t Take My Eyes Off of You’ by Frankie Valli before Greg got down on one knee. She said yes! It was intimate, meaningful, and perfectly them.

[field title=”Food & Drink”]Rooted in the flavors of Italy, the menu blended nostalgic flavors with fresh, local ingredients. The chef drew inspiration from her childhood and nearby farmers’ markets to elevate traditional Italian dishes. Each dish honored the simplicity and soul of Italian cuisine, from the saffron arancini to grilled market fresh bass to the burrata with confit tomatoes. Ending the night on a sweet note, dessert featured classic tiramisu and crispy, creamy cannolis.

Guests enjoyed an open bar featuring two signature cocktails that captured the couple’s personality: a classic Moscow Mule and a margarita for a fun and celebratory night![/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]

As a nod to Carly’s middle name, the flower arrangements featured mainly roses, the design embracing a romantic garden vibe. The blooms were soft shades of pink layered with blush and crisp white. These colors against the lush greenery of the venue popped, complementing the vintage-inspired details of the day. A play on textures throughout the décor brought depth and character to every detail, from the natural wood tables paired with classic hemstitch runners to the delicate floral-patterned china. Hand-drawn elements in the stationery added a playful, personal touch. At each guest’s seat were 5 sugar almonds, an Italian tradition that symbolizes the five wishes for the couple’s marriage- health, wealth, happiness, fertility, and long life.

[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]This sweet three-tiered wedding cake brought a touch of vintage romance to the celebration. Adorned with delicate piped details of old-world confections and topped with glossy cherries, the design felt both playful and timeless. Atop stood an adorable figurine of the bride and groom, adding a personal finishing touch. [/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]

With the groom being a musician himself, music played a central role in the day’s celebration. The couple prioritized live performances throughout, beginning with an intimate keyboard and guitar duo during the ceremony that set a romantic tone. Their first dance was to ‘Can’t Take My Eyes Off Of You’ by Frankie Valli, the same song he proposed to her. A seven-piece band carried the energy throughout the reception, keeping guests on their feet well into the night. The dance floor was never empty, so much so that the bride even crowd surfed, making for an unforgettable moment of pure joy.

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]Carly & Greg chose to celebrate their wedding at the groom’s family home, a beloved estate that has hosted many gatherings and family weddings. It was fitting that their story adds another page to its history. From the ceremony under a tree to a tennis court transformed into an elegant reception space, each corner of the property holds deep meaning. It isn’t just a venue; it is a home, a symbol of enduring love, and the beginning of their chapter in a long line of beautiful beginnings. [/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]

After their first dance, the groom, Gregory Ackerman, who is an incredibly talented musician, took everyone by surprise when he stepped on stage with the band. He debuted a song he began writing just days after their very first date, titled ‘Brand New Life’. The lyrics told the story of their instant connection and the moment he knew she was the one. There wasn’t a dry eye in the room as he created an unforgettable moment that captured the essence of their love story. It was a reminder to everyone- when you know, you know.

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #3″]In a beautiful twist of tradition, Carly & Greg chose to have their wedding party seated in a semicircle around them during the ceremony. This thoughtful arrangement created an intimate, almost sacred space, one that physically reflected the emotional support and closeness they share with their loved ones. Rather than standing off to the side, their closest friends and family were right there, encircling them in love as they exchanged their vows. It was a subtle but powerful detail that made the ceremony feel personal, grounded, and deeply connected. [/field]

Their ceremony took place on the sand at Chileno Bay. A small, intimate guest count made for an emotion-filled ceremony. Kyle and his immediate family walked down the aisle to a live Violin, followed by Summer and her father. Summer and Kyle exchanged their vows, and there was not a dry eye in sight. It was truly the most beautiful ceremony. The bride and groom shared their first kiss as husband and wife to “Be My Baby” by The Ronettes and celebrated as they left the altar.

The weekend started with a boat welcome party. Everyone landed a few hours prior, vacation mode was on, and the excitement was real. Custom coconuts were passed out as their guests boarded the boat. Summer and Kyle knew they had to start the weekend off right, so they opted out of a rehearsal dinner and included everyone for a 3-hour sunset cruise. Their guests mingled, enjoyed the views, and spent time together. A few of their closest friends gave speeches. There were tears, laughter, and so much love. They spent the rest of the night dancing away to music and the most gorgeous sunset that truly looked like someone had painted the sky.

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]

Cocktail hour took place on the lawn as the sun was setting and the moon was shining. A live saxophonist played as appetizers were passed. Guests got to enjoy the gorgeous views of the venue. Summer and Kyle snuck away to take a few sunset photos before making their grand entrance to “Can’t Take My Eyes Off of You” by Frankie Valli.

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #3″]

Once the party began, the bride and groom reentered the reception space, pushing a tequila cart with sparklers that had espresso martini shots for their guests. The energy instantly turned on all of a sudden, and the saxophone was on someone’s shoulders. They didn’t stop dancing the rest of the night; they made their way to their speakeasy after-party. They carried on for another two hours, late-night snacks were served, a few shirts came off, and the dancing didn’t stop. People basically had to drag them out of the afterparty. Their guests were ready for the night to be over. The night ended with everyone jumping in the pool in their dresses and suits. It was intimate, filled with an abundance of love, insanely fun, and the wildest party.

A Midsummer Garden Party Wedding at Son Marroig in Palma

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]

We chose a fresh and romantic palette of whites and soft neutrals, beautifully complemented by pastel tones worn by our guests.

[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

Our vision was a dreamy midsummer garden party with a black-tie twist, designed to highlight the natural beauty of Son Marroig. The décor focused on white florals, soft drapery, and candlelight to create an effortlessly romantic and timeless setting.

[field title=”Proposal Story”]

Daniel proposed in Franschhoek, South Africa, in a vineyard that looked like it had been painted by hand. The moment was intimate, thoughtful, and filled with love. I said yes instantly, knowing I wanted to spend my life with him.

Our menu was crafted by Vicky Pulgarin, a MasterChef winner, and celebrated local flavours with a Mediterranean twist. For drinks, we had two signature cocktails: my favourite, a spicy margarita, and Daniel’s, a whiskey sour. We also enjoyed our favourite champagne, Dom Pérignon, in a champagne tower that was so much fun and became one of the highlights of the evening. For a late-night snack, we treated guests to delicious stone-baked pizzas, perfect for refuelling during the party.

[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]The ceremony featured an abundance of white florals surrounding the iconic Son Marroig gazebo. Soft drapery framed the Mediterranean sea views, while the reception tablescape was lit with hundreds of candles for a romantic al fresco dinner under the stars.[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]

Our three-tiered wedding cake was delicate and beautiful, perfectly matching my wedding dress with its soft and romantic design.

[/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]

My cousin read Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 during the ceremony. A string quartet performed our favourite classical and modern love songs, including Canon in D, Video Games, and If I Ain’t Got You. Later, our DJ, DJ Baj, and saxophonist took over for a lively evening of dancing and celebration.

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]

We wanted our wedding to feel personal and thoughtful for our guests. A live sketch artist created portraits as wedding favours, and a saxophonist entertained everyone during cocktail hour. Our speeches were also a highlight. We kept it intimate, with only four speeches, and I gave an unconventional speech dedicated to my mum, thanking her for her unwavering love and sacrifices. Instead of tossing my bouquet, I gave it to her as a symbol of my gratitude and love, which was an emotional and unforgettable moment.

A Grounded Charleston Wedding in Deep Green, Dreamy Color, and Southern Warmth at Gibbes Museum Of Art

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]

(From the Bride, Alexandria) I’m very drawn to deep green. It evokes such a sense of calm and ease and acts as a beautiful anchor to any color palette, not too masculine or too feminine. It felt like a natural place to start, given the vibe we were going for: whimsical, but grounded. I originally thought we’d do a classic green and white for the more traditional feeling I wanted, but my husband and I both love bold color, so we brought in our favorites – deep pink for me and sunshine yellow for him – for accents throughout our design elements.

[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

Our color palette reflected the overall vision for the day, blending timeless romance with modern vibrancy – and a dash of warm southern charm! This vision helped us select vendors – like our photographer Samantha Jean Becker, who blends film and digital and infuses such a dreamy, romantic quality into her work – and our venues. We got married in a church, Second Presbyterian, to ground the day in tradition and ceremony, and celebrated with a reception at the Gibbes Museum of Art, where we focused on creating warmth and fun through bright colors and contrasting textures and patterns. While my family is from the south, Charleston was a destination for all of our wedding guests, so it was important to us that everyone felt appreciated and enjoyed themselves. We sought to infuse the weekend with southern hospitality for our guests, from little touches like danceflooflip-flops and mini fans in their welcome bags, to focusing on delicious food and drink. Our planner, Chauncey, and her team at Bouquets and Bowties helped us connect the dots for a cohesive, seamless celebration.

[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]

We met almost 10 years ago through a mutual friend when we were both living in the DC area. I still remember his first text to me, “Hi Alex, this is Alex.” After being in each other’s orbits for about a year or two, one day, when we were both at the same backyard party, we just hit it off. We hung out all day and ended up exploring the Capitol, darting around the campus in the quiet nighttime, like it was our own playground. We went on our first date shortly after to an outdoor movie at the Georgetown Waterfront, where he packed us a little picnic, and we’ve been together ever since. Five years later, we got engaged on the beach in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands. We had just moved to New York City, and I had landed a new job after graduate school. I was anxious to get to work, but Alex really pushed for me to delay my start date so we could take one last trip before things got too busy. He was really insistent, which I thought was a bit weird, but now I understand why! I picked the destination and he handled the rest. Toward the end of our trip, we were heading to dinner when he claimed he had found a small, secluded beach he wanted to show me. He had me close my eyes as he guided me there, and when we arrived, he had prepared a beautiful setting with a bouquet and rose petals, where he got down on one knee. Neither of us remembers exactly what he said, but I remember the happiness and excitement, and the random audience we had attracted that cheered us on.

[field title=”Wedding Gown”]I wore two dresses on our wedding day – my ceremony dress by Reem Accra and my reception dress from Prea James. I wanted a dress that felt unique but also clean and traditional. The high neck and long sleeves countered by the airy lace drew me to my ceremony gown. With my reception look, the sleek silhouette and fabric perfectly highlighted the statement bow on my back. Both dresses struck that perfect balance for me – modern and fun, yet timeless and romantic.
[/field]
[field title=”Bridesmaid Dresses”]

I knew I wanted lots of dimension and complexity for my bridal party look; my group of girls is all so unique, and I wanted to reflect that in their dresses. I also couldn’t choose just one color, so I decided not to! In addition to our favorite colors of pink and yellow, we introduced a pale blush as a classic touch to bring some cohesion. I gifted the ladies with coordinating earrings and handkerchiefs to provide something that brought their looks together.

[field title=”Food & Drink”]

Food was so important to us – 1. We love a good meal, and 2 we wanted our guests to enjoy their meal and experience the flavors of the South. We worked with our caterer, Rosemary and Rye, to craft a menu that fit this bill and had plenty of our southern favorites – collard greens, shrimp and grits, and crab cakes for a shout out to my husband’s Maryland roots! For our signature cocktail, we did a Hugo Spritz, a refreshing blend of elderflower and lime. We named it the Simba Spritz, a nod to our favorite little guy, our golden doodle Simba.

[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]

When it came to florals, we took inspiration from our venues and again that balance of simplicity and vibrancy, working with Angela at Charleston Flower Girl to bring the vision to life. For our church ceremony, we kept the florals neutral and understated. I am still completely obsessed with my bouque, which felt so elegant and classic. For cocktails, dinner, and dancing at the Gibbes, we took inspiration from the garden, with its lush greenery and romantic sense of seclusion, bringing in vibrant florals, lots of candlelight light and greenery-twined chandeliers overhead to evoke that secret garden feel. Our textured and patterned tablecloths from Stradley Davidson added a contrasting sophistication to the rustic farm tables from Snyder’s Rentals to round out the garden party vibes. My favorite detail was our joint monogram. It was an extremely effective way of personalizing multiple design aspects, like our programs and place settings from Dodeline Design, and our matchbook guest favors.

[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]

When our wedding planner took us for a tasting with Wedding Cakes by Jim Smeal, we immediately fell in love. The texture and flavor of their cakes were absolutely amazing; they had a stunning collection of unique cake stands and a portfolio of absolutely gorgeous cake designs. We chose two flavors, Almond Amaretto paired with an Apricot jam and Fresh Coconut, brought together by a classic design in pale pink frosting to continue the romantic vibe of the day. I was feeling very drawn to vintage cake design, and Jim was able to channel that vision beautifully. The only regret I have from our wedding was not saving the top cake layer for our anniversary – I still dream about it!

[/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]

To mark the end of our ceremony and first moments as husband and wife, we jumped the broom, a Black American wedding tradition. We’ll keep our broom as a family heirloom, and hopefully our children will use it one day. A couple of months before our wedding in Charleston, we celebrated our marriage with my husband’s extended family in Mumbai, India, where friends and family performed choreographed dances for our Sangeet. We had the DJ play some of the songs from the performances so we could relive our time in India, which was a fun callback for us and our guests. Together, these moments made our wedding feel like an homage to both our heritages and the blended culture of our family.

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]

My husband’s aunt, who designs and produces clothing in Mumbai, crafted my mother’s turquoise gown. She lovingly made my lehenga for our Sangeet earlier in the year, so it was a sweet touch to have her design something so beautiful for our Charleston celebration. My mom and her beautiful dress were my ‘Something Blue’.

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]

My grandfather is a minister, and he officiated our wedding. This was a moment I’ve looked forward to sharing with him all my life. We met many times to hone the details of the ceremony and discuss with him the beauty and power of marriage. His presence brought a real sense of love, devotion, and gravity to our ceremony. It was such a sweet moment to walk down the aisle with my dad and see my grandfather and husband-to-be standing side-by-side at the altar.

A Whimsical Waterfront Wedding Awash in Bright Color, Rattan Accents and Sunny Style

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]

The wedding was a chic, colorful affair, with a palette that encompassed pink, yellow, orange, blue, purple, and green. Sunshine yellow was also prominent, not only from the sunny Florida weather, but all of the beautiful bridesmaid gowns.

[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

The vibe for the wedding day was a whimsical yet sophisticated black-tie fete. A nod to the coastal waterfront was also present, with subtle touches of rattan from entrance lanterns and rattan chargers with sea blue napkins. An assortment of colors from the invitation suite, to the crest, the florals, and the table cape design lent itself well to capturing this beautiful aesthetic. A gorgeous custom seating wall and multiple personalized bars provided another high-touch element throughout the event.

Dogs, 90s Nostalgia, and Napa Romance: A Wedding Weekend Made Just for Them

Inspired by their first visit to The French Laundry, Greta and Ben chose Napa Valley for a weekend celebration full of personal touches and romantic nods to their journey. From their dogs walking the aisle to a 90s-infused afterparty, every moment was thoughtful, joyful, and undeniably them.

[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]

Greta and Ben’s love story began with a bold (and brilliant) move. After spotting Greta on Hinge, Ben placed an oversized flower order from her business, Glasswing Floral, just to meet her. The ruse led to flirty messages, an in-person flower handoff, and a proper first date, where Greta immediately called him out. Ben confessed, Greta laughed, and the rest unfolded naturally. They quickly discovered a rare and shared magic, falling in love over music and meaningful conversations. Two years later, Ben proposed to Greta on Nantucket, on the anniversary of their first official date. She said yes (after teasing that the ring box was upside down) and “Dependence Day” was born.

Where Refined Neutrals and Western Flair Collide in a Fresh Austin Garden Wedding

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]

Airy neutrals and pops of fresh green

[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

Neka and Zach’s wedding day was an elevated, chic garden party at The Grand Lady in Austin, TX. The day blended Neka’s refined, neutral-forward style with Zach’s cool, Western flair. With a spring-inspired palette of airy neutrals and pops of fresh green, the celebration leaned into a texture-forward design, whimsical details, and interactive guest moments.

[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]

Sentimental, intimate, and emotional are three words that come to mind when I think about the night of our proposal. The sentiment tracks back to Zach and I’s very first date. We had been getting to know each other for a few months while I was still living in Dallas and Zach was in Austin. We would finally get to meet in person when I came home to New Braunfels around Christmas time. Zach drove an hour to pick me up (with flowers in hand like the true gentleman he is), and we spent the day in my hometown. Before heading home, I told him about one of my favorite places in New Braunfels called RiveRoadad. I thought it would be a great opportunity to show off my town, but in reality, the beautiful scenic drive was gloomy and bare due to it being the dead of winter. Oopsie. We made the most of it and promised we would see it another time when everything was in full bloom. Fast forward to the evening of the proposal. We were in town for the 4th of July and had plans to eat dinner with his mom downtown. Looking back at it now, I should have put two and two together when we received a text saying his mom was running late, and ZZach suggested we kill time by driving down River Road. As we drove down the windy, scenic road, this time in full bloom, I realized Zach seemed to be on a mission. We pulled up to a spot I had never seen before, where Zach suggested we get out and go look at the water. To which I reply, “This is private property! We can’t be here!” He persisted and eventually got me out of the car, thank goodness. He led me downhill, where I saw something scattered by the water. Funny enough, at the distance we were at, I squinted and thought it was the underbelly of a bunch of fish someone had caught. As we got close, it was clear that it was not in fact fish, but dozens and dozens of beautiful white roses individually placed in the ground, candles, and twinkling lights dangling from a large oak tree. Just us two (plus Kelsey and Talon hiding behind the tree, of course), it was the perfect intimate proposal. He got down on one knee and expressed his love and desire to spend the rest of his life together. At this point in our relationship, we had already experienced more hardship than most people have to endure in their whole lives. I had spent the year battling my cancer diagnosis with Zach by my side. So in that moment when we were wrapped in each other’s arms, celebrating, I was picturing all the hardships we had faced, making that moment so much more meaningful! I knew I was getting a life partner who proved we could make it through “in sickness and in health”. As if the tears weren’t flowing enough already, we then drove to a special spot from my childhood to be surprised by our loved ones! The rest of the evening consisted of showing off the ring, retelling the proposal story over and over again, embracing close friends and family, and smiling from ear to ear until our cheeks hurt. It was everything we could have hoped for and more, and I am forever grateful for the memories we have from July 2nd, 2024

When they found the perfect spot, they scheduled a tour with one of the current tenants, who just happened to be a handsome student named Ryan. Eventually, they both found themselves single, and their friendship naturally evolved into a romance for the ages! Three years into their relationship, Ryan — who works in aviation — popped the question with a surprise proposal inside a hangar filled with private aircraft, which alluded to a dream Sheridan had about a proposal years earlier.[/field]

Sheridan wore an intricately designed Nardos gown customized for versatility — it offered three looks in one. For the ceremony, she dazzled in a lace long-sleeve, high-neck top with a cathedral-length veil. Sheridan switched to a strapless look for cocktail hour and first dances before later draping a dramatic shawl with an extended train for dinner. The bride’s second look was a playful hand-beaded halter gown with a thigh-high slit, which she paired with gold Louboutin heels before swapping them for Lucchese cowboy boots.

A Cinematic Parisian Wedding at Hôtel Salomon de Rothschild With Old-World Grandeur

[section title=”The Planning”]

Soft neutrals and elegant whites — ivory, champagne, and blush — with accents of gold and greenery, echoing the refined beauty of Parisian architecture.

[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

A timeless Parisian romance blending old-world grandeur with modern soul. The vision was to create a day that felt cinematic — intimate yet international, where elegance met authenticity. The Hôtel Salomon de Rothschild’s gilded salons, crystal chandeliers, and private gardens inspired a palette of light, air, and emotion: everything was designed to feel luminous, heartfelt, and unmistakably Parisian.

[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]

Their love story began during lockdown — in silence rather than fireworks. Aubrey, an American Harvard graduate newly settled in Annecy, met Reda, a French psychiatrist of Moroccan and Algerian heritage, while searching for a language partner. He teased, “I know what will happen. I’ll come to Annecy, and you’ll like me. I’ll keep visiting, and you’ll fall in love with me. Then in Paris — because it’s my city, and it always has my back — you’ll marry me. But sure, language partner.” He was right. Years later, Paris kept its promise.

Wedding Gown & Shoes For her wedding day, Aubrey chose a Pronovias gown — a masterful design with an illusion lace bodice, floral appliqués, and a sleek crepe skirt that flared into a graceful train. The back was open, framed with delicate buttons along the spine, blending classic elegance and modern allure. To complete her ensemble, she wore Bella Belle shoes — refined, pearl-embellished stilettos that echoed the sophistication of her gown and added just the right touch of sparkle.

[/field]
[field title=”Bridesmaid Dresses”]

The bridesmaids also wore Pronovias, in a harmonious palette of soft blue tones — from misty periwinkle to powdery sky blue. The flowing fabrics and refined cuts echoed the day’s romantic Parisian elegance while adding a gentle touch of freshness and serenity to the bridal party.

[/field]
[field title=”Groomsman Attire”]

Reda wore a tailored Brioni navy-blue suit, paired with a crisp white shirt and a midnight-blue bow tie, striking the perfect balance between sophistication and modern ease. His look was completed with tan leather Oxford shoes, adding a subtle warmth that complemented the wedding’s soft color palette. As a deeply meaningful gesture, the bride’s father presented Reda with a vintage IWC timepiece — one of three identical watches he had carefully chosen, one for each of his sons and one for his new son-in-law. A timeless symbol of family and legacy, it added both sentiment and refinement to Reda’s ensemble. The overall style reflected Parisian elegance with a timeless, international twist.

[field title=”Special Detail #3″]

All You Need is Love… and Paris: A Swiss–French–American Love Story at the Hôtel Salomon de Rothschil.d There are love stories that begin with fireworks — and others that start in silence. For Aubrey and Reda, it all began during the quietest time the world had ever known: lockdown. Aubrey, an American graduate from Harvard University, had just moved to Annecy with the plan to explore France — a plan that, like so many, came to a standstill. Reda, a French psychiatrist with Moroccan and Algerian roots, entered her life almost by accident — or perhaps by destiny. She told him she was looking for a language partner. His reply became the beginning of their story: “I know what will happen. I’ll come to Annecy, and you’ll like me. I’ll keep visiting, and you’ll fall in love with me. Then in Paris — because it’s my city, and it always has my back — you’ll marry me. But sure, language partner.” He was right. A Parisian Dream Brought to Life Two years later, on a luminous spring morning, Paris awakened to the sound of preparations. At the Hôtel Balzac, Aubrey and her bridesmaids gathered in silk robes on a terrace overlooking the Eiffel Tower, as sunlight brushed across the city’s zinc rooftops. Every detail of the morning — the soft calligraphy of the invitations, the scent of white calla lilies, the soft hum of violins in the distance — felt like something out of a film. A few streets away, Reda was at the Royal Monceau, serene, surrounded by lifelong friends. Between them stood the city that had witnessed their first meeting, their first walk along the Seine, and now, their union. The Ceremony at the Hôtel Salomon de Rothschild The ceremony took place at the Hôtel Salomon de Rothschild, an extraordinary 19ᵗʰ-century mansion tucked away on Rue Berryer, just steps from the Champs-Élysées. Built in 1878 by Baroness Adèle de Rothschild, the venue is a masterpiece of Parisian grandeur — with marble fireplaces, gilded moldings, mirrored galleries, and crystal chandeliers that seem to float in the air. The couple exchanged vows in the private garden, a secret oasis hidden behind the palace’s sculpted façade. A live orchestra played softly under the plane trees as Aubrey walked down the aisle — her gown moving like a whisper through the sunlight. There was an almost cinematic stillness as they spoke their vows. Aubrey promised to be the one who listens, the one who protects his generous heart — and smiled as she recalled the first moment she saw him, lowering his mask under a bridge along La Seine. “Even when your youth fades,” she said, “your smile will always remind me of that day — and of the moment my heart chose you.” A Global Celebration of Love Inside, the reception unfolded across the palace’s historical rooms and 500 m² ballroom — a symphony of golden light and floral abundance. White calla lilies and soft neutral tones adorned each table, echoing the romantic elegance of the venue’s Belle Époque décor. Nearly 300 guests had traveled from over 105 cities around the world — from America, Morocco, India, Taiwan, London, and France. Before dinner began, the newlyweds surprised everyone with a short film — a spectacular montage featuring images from each of those cities. It was a heartfelt “thank you” projected on a giant LED screen, a love letter to all who had crossed oceans to celebrate with them. As dinner gave way to dancing, the atmosphere shifted — from refined Parisian elegance to the joyful rhythm of a Moroccan-Algerian celebration. Lanterns suspended from the ceiling glimmered like stars. Guests moved between lounges and dance floors, laughter and music filling every room. And when the thousand-macaron golden wedding cake was revealed — shimmering under the lights, surrounded by bottles of Jeroboam champagne — the room erupted in applause. It was pure magic: old-world Paris meeting the vibrant pulse of modern love. A Night to Remember Long after midnight, the gardens of the Rothschild mansion glowed with soft candlelight. The couple shared one last dance beneath the trees, the city humming quietly beyond the gates. Paris — the city that brought them together, that promised to have their back — had once again kept its word. Because in the end, love stories like theirs remind us of one simple truth: Even when the world stands still, love finds a way.

A Soft Coastal-Blue Wedding on Jekyll Island Embracing Understated Southern Elegance

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]

The couple chose a timeless palette of coastal blues, inspired by the natural beauty of Jekyll Island — soft skies, drifting tides, and the serene calm of the Georgia coast. Their wedding colors flowed effortlessly through every element of the day: from the powdery blue of the bridesmaids’ dresses to the delicate stationery with watercolor washes and deckled edges. Florals brought the palette to life in a painterly way, combining creamy whites with hints of dusty blue, silvery eucalyptus, and subtle steel-toned berries. Even the tablescape reflected the sea-kissed aesthetic — soft linen runners, muted ceramic plates, and hand-dyed silk ribbons in shades of slate and mist. The overall effect was ethereal yet grounded, romantic yet fresh — like a quiet breeze coming off the water. Rather than relying on bold contrast, the palette whispered its presence in tone and texture — a refined coastal vision that felt perfectly at home beneath the Spanish moss-draped trees of Jekyll Island Club Resort.

[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

From the beginning, the couple envisioned a wedding day that felt effortless, intimate, and timeless — a natural extension of the elegant coastal surroundings of Jekyll Island. Inspired by the quiet grandeur of the venue and the southern landscape, the design leaned into soft textures, classic silhouettes, and a palette of coastal blues, warm neutrals, and natural greenery. The overall vision was rooted in the idea of understated sophistication — elevated yet approachable. The ceremony took place beneath the canopy of moss-draped oaks, requiring little more than nature’s backdrop to create a sense of reverence. The reception embraced a warm, inviting atmosphere with long communal tables, delicate floral arrangements, and glowing candlelight to create a sense of intimacy even within the grandeur of the resort. Every design element was chosen to reflect the couple’s refined taste while honoring the historic charm of the venue. From the textured linen menus to the softly layered tablescapes and minimalist paper goods, the day felt cohesive without being overstyled. The result was a celebration that felt organic, meaningful, and timeless — a perfect reflection of the couple’s love and the coastal setting they chose to begin their marriage.

The bride embraced two distinct yet perfectly complementary styles for her wedding day. For the ceremony, she wore a minimalist gown by Alexandra Grecco — the kind of silhouette that whispers rather than shouts. Clean lines, no embellishment, and a subtle elegance that felt right at home beneath the mossy oaks of Jekyll Island Club. It was timeless, modern, and effortlessly graceful — a true reflection of her understated style. As the sun set and the celebration shifted to the reception, she surprised everyone with a playful transformation: a shimmering Self Portrait party dress that caught every flicker of candlelight and danced with her. Covered in reflective sequins and full of personality, it felt like a love letter to fun — part disco ball, part editorial moment. The perfect look for twirling under string lights and signaling the start of the party.

[field title=”Bridesmaid Dresses”]The bride’s bridesmaid chose a light blue gown with architectural structure and modern elegance — a beautiful complement to the wedding’s coastal palette. The entire dining experience was designed to feel intimate and celebratory, with warm hospitality and a subtle nod to the region’s culinary charm.

[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]The floral design by Marble & Pine brought the couple’s coastal vision to life with an artful blend of powder blue and crisp white blooms, grounded in texture and softness. Lush clusters of hydrangeas — a nod to seaside gardens — took center stage, their full, cloud-like forms adding volume and a romantic sense of abundance. Delicate white roses, lisianthus, and airy greenery wove throughout, giving the arrangements a layered, garden-picked feel. The palette was subtle yet impactful, echoing the ocean tones and bringing an effortless freshness to the ceremony and reception spaces.[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]

The wedding cake was a beautiful reflection of the couple’s timeless aesthetic — elegant, minimal, and quietly refined. Designed with simplicity in mind, the cake featured clean lines and a soft, textural finish, accented with delicate florals that echoed the day’s coastal blue and white palette. Each tier felt intentional, creating a sculptural centerpiece that blended seamlessly with the surrounding decor. It was more than dessert — it was an extension of the overall design story: understated, natural, and effortlessly romantic.

[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

Perched between the wild Atlantic breeze and the golden hills of Southern Spain, this Tarifa wedding was a masterclass in understated luxury and natural beauty. The creative vision? A celebration where fashion-forward minimalism met earthy Mediterranean charm—effortlessly merging the couple’s refined style with the rugged soul of the Andalusian coast. The design palette revolved around muted neutrals, sun-kissed textures, and botanical greens, carefully curated to reflect the surrounding landscape. Think ivory linens, raw wood, pampas grass, and eucalyptus garlands—elevated with just the right touch of modern minimalism. Lounge areas with creamy textiles and natural fibers create a relaxed, editorial vibe. Ceremony spaces framed by asymmetrical greenery and set against the backdrop of Tarifa’s open skies and sweeping coastline. This wedding wasn’t about grandeur—it was about authentic beauty. Crafted by the renowned Goyo Catering, each dish was a testament to their signature blend of haute cuisine and timeless elegance. Cocktail Hour & Starters As the sun dipped behind the Andalusian landscape, guests were welcomed with an open-air cocktail hour featuring an artful selection of elevated bites: Mini brioche buns with slow-cooked veal and truffle aioli Foie gras macarons with fig jam Oyster spoons with yuzu pearls and cucumber foam Crispy garden mushrooms on edible moss — a whimsical forest-inspired amuse-bouche that sparked conversation and curiosity First Course White Gazpachuelo Cream with Monkfish and Andalusian “Migas” A modern tribute to Málaga’s coastal traditions, this dish arrived warm and velvety, topped with saffron oil and a delicate citrus note that nodded to the nearby sea breeze. Main Course Roasted Iberian Lamb Shoulder Slow-cooked for 12 hours and served with a creamy parsnip purée, wild herbs, and a tempranillo wine reduction. The plate was garnished with pickled baby onions and edible flowers — earthy yet elegant. (Vegetarian Option: Caramelized leek millefeuille with almond béchamel and smoked beet coulis) Dessert Citrus & Olive Oil Layer Cake with White Chocolate Frosting Minimalist in appearance, this three-tiered cake was filled with lemon curd and orange blossom cream — a fresh, refined finish that echoed the Southern Spanish terrain. To accompany the sweet moment: Espresso martinis served over ice, Handmade petits fours (hazelnut truffles, saffron marshmallows, and pistachio canelé.s). [field title=”Florals & Decor”]

Floral Design & Ceremony Styling: A Sculpted Garden Among Stones Set amidst the dramatic rock formations and manicured gardens of Tarifa, the floral and ceremony design of this wedding was a harmonious blend of architecture, nature, and soft elegance. The overall aesthetic was fresh, intentional, and deeply editorial — creating a dreamlike garden carved into stone. The Ceremony Setting The aisle was transformed into a living, organic pathway, flanked by low, sculptural arrangements of yellow lupines, creamy calla lilies, Queen Anne’s lace, lisianthus, mosses, and wild ferns. These textural layers mimicked the surrounding terrain, blending seamlessly with the rocky backdrop while softening it with lush botanical volume. A subtle color palette of white, pale green, and butter yellow brought freshness and airiness to the ceremony space, allowing the florals to feel both grounded and ethereal. Floral Arch & Backdrop The altar was marked by a vertical installation of white cosmos, dahlias, and wild sprigs of greenery, arranged in an asymmetrical, free-form structure that looked as if it had grown naturally from the cliff face. The use of negative space between blooms created a feeling of movement and breath, like the wind flowing through the mountainside. The Bridal Bouquet The bride carried a modern, sculptural bouquet composed of white calla lilies and anthuriums, adorned with cascading strands of textural amaranthus and pearl-like beads. The minimalist elegance of the bouquet — clean lines, monochromatic tones, and soft curves — was the perfect complement to her intricate lace veil and flowing pleated gown. Bridal Party Palette The bridesmaids stood out against the soft floral tones in sunset-hued gowns ranging from tangerine and saffron to coral and blush, each holding compact, vibrant bouquets of ranunculus, mini roses, tulips, and orchids. The contrast added a bold, fashion-forward energy to the overall visual story — vibrant color against natural stone and serene whites.

[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]

The Cake: A Wild Berry Statement of Summer Elegance. For a wedding that celebrated natural beauty and effortless sophistication, the dessert was no exception. Crafted by the iconic Goyo Catering, the couple’s cake was a fresh and decadent tribute to Mediterranean flavors — light, refined, and visually striking. This stunning creation featured a generous ring of silky Chantilly cream piped with precision, resting atop a delicate sponge base. The center was overflowing with a vibrant medley of fresh seasonal berries: blueberries, blackberries, red currants, and strawberries, arranged organically for a modern, deconstructed effect. The result was a cake that felt as luxurious as it did inviting — a celebration of color, texture, and summer produce. Petals scattered across the table added a final romantic flourish, and the serving moment — informal, tactile, and shared — reflected the joy and spontaneity of the evening. A dessert not only to be admired, but remembered — where flavor met fashion most deliciously.

A minimalist white and blue color palette was intentionally selected to complement the serene waterfront setting.

Having both grown up near the sea and found comfort in its presence, Maria and Pedro chose to center their wedding around the coastal beauty that has always defined their connection. Held at Forte da Cruz, a 17th-century beachside castle overlooking Tamariz Beach in Portugal, the celebration paid tribute to their love for the water and for one another.

[field title=”Proposal Story”]

Maria and Pedro first met while on separate trips to Australia. After spotting Maria from his balcony, Pedro changed his mind about skipping a friend’s birthday barbecue, as Maria was headed to that same party. This spontaneous decision changed everything. From that evening forward, Maria and Pedro’s relationship began. Maria ended up canceling her flight home and stayed in Australia, where the two lived together for six months before traveling to Bali. They eventually returned to Portugal, just before the start of the pandemic. After their daughter was born, Pedro suggested a walk to the beach on a particularly beautiful day. As they strolled along the empty shoreline, he began to express his devotion, then got down on one knee and proposed. The rest of the day unfolded like a dream: time at a spa, dinner at their favorite seaside restaurant, and an overnight stay at The Albatroz Hotel, complete with a balcony overlooking the sea. “Our favorite place to be always,” Maria shared, “is seaside.”

A Four Seasons Wedding That Blended Organic Greenery, Playful Patterns, and Unforgettable Guest Experiences

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]

A rich green color story blended earthy tones with an elevated, design-forward approach.

[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

Chloe and Jake’s wedding was a visual delight, transforming the Four Seasons hotel into an elegant, organic celebration of nature. As their vision evolved, Chloe embraced mixing patterns and varying shades of green, adding a playful twist to their otherwise classic aesthetic. The day unfolded in four distinct experiences for guests. First, a joyful ceremony was set against the serene backdrop of the lawn and Lady Bird Lake. Then, a lively cocktail hour punctuated by bold prints and vibrant details. This was followed by a refined, open-air dining experience under the stars, culminating in a disco-speakeasy-inspired dance party. Reflecting on their wedding, the couple shared, “We wish we could relive every moment from that day.”

[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]

Chloe and Jake’s first date — an evening of drinks and dinner in Jake’s Austin neighborhood — felt more like a reunion than a first meeting. Their connection was instant, as if they had known each other forever. In fact, the date went so well that later that night, Chloe called her mom and asked, “Is it possible to die of happiness?” Two and a half years later, Jake surprised Chloe with a family trip to Europe, planning a special day just for them: a snowshoeing excursion in Chamonix, France. After a beautiful but strenuous hike to the summit, Jake dropped to one knee. Their only witness, aside from the stunning alpine backdrop, was their guide, who also doubled as their photographer. The rest of the trip was a whirlwind of celebration, made even more special by the unexpected arrival of Chloe’s mom and stepdad in France. From the snowy peaks of Chamonix to the charming streets of Switzerland, they embraced every moment as a newly engaged couple, savoring the start of their next adventure together.

A Charleston Wedding Blending Sage Greens, Sunset Pinks, and Personal Heirloom-Inspired Details

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]

For my wedding color palette, I was very inspired by the natural landscape of the venue. Along with white as a romantic and timeless wedding-day anchor, I wanted varying shades of green and sage, drawn from the natural landscape of the venue (think sage greens and blues of the Ashley River, Spanish moss, palm trees, and Charleston green). I also wanted soft pinks, blush, and peach for a pop of color inspired by the sunset view from Lowndes Grove, in addition to bringing in warm tones to play off the candlelit dinner once the sun went down.

[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

In addition to drawing my inspiration from the venue and landscape for my design aesthetic, it was important to me to create a feel of tradition and timelessness at the wedding. I wanted anyone to be able to look back on our special day in ten, 50, or 100 years and feel that it was classically beautiful and romantic in a way that would never go out of style. Adam and I both share “a love of old things,” as we say, so incorporating vintage elements, such as my collection of antique sterling silver napkin rings, was a way to honor the tradition of “Something Old.” We are also passionate travelers, so we included a gelato bar as a nod to Adam’s Italian heritage and used “The Monocle Book of Japan” coffee table book for our guests to sign in acknowledgment of our honeymoon destination. Lastly, an important part of my vision was for our celebration to feel deeply personal. As an artist, I enjoyed creating a custom design for our wedding invitation suite and all print material used on the day of the wedding, including our rose trellis bar! We used my hand-drawn duogram and wedding crest to embroider custom linen tea towels, dinner napkins, and cocktail napkins. Lastly, my bridesmaid gifts were handmade sweetgrass baskets, which were used to hold the bridesmaids’ floral bouquets!

[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]

Adam had some elaborate plans to take me back to Aspen, where we first met, to propose to me. Naturally, as soon as he let me know he was planning this trip, I became confidently suspicious that he was planning this trip to propose. So, I was spending my free time searching for the perfect white sweater dress to buy for the trip, haha! Once the ring came in, he started feeling that he really could not wait and was getting too excited and nervous over it. He decided to make an alternate plan, which he felt would be a good idea, as he also suspected that I probably suspected what would happen in Aspen. So, the trip could be a decoy! He planned a dinner reservation for us at The River Cafe in Dumbo, Brooklyn, which is an iconic, old-school New York restaurant that sits on the water and overlooks the skyline of the city from the other side of the river. There’s a gorgeous garden out front, which is strung with twinkle lights and is all lit up at night, and very romantic. To get to the front door of the restaurant, you have to walk through the garden, so before taking me in for dinner, Adam stopped me in the middle of the garden and got down on one knee, pulling out the ring and telling me how much he loved me! I was so caught off guard, thinking with certainty that it wasn’t happening until the Aspen trip, that he truly and successfully surprised me. We walked in for dinner, toasted to champagne, and had an incredible night, feeling so happy. It made it even more fun when we went to Aspen a week and a half later, as we got to just celebrate and soak it in together!

Festoon handled this, and we went with a very organic feel to our arrangements, with a lot of romanticism. Whitney could maybe tell you more about the types of flowers that we used, but I know that there were a lot of roses and peonies, which I love most, in addition to hydrangeas and other beautiful trailing flowers to give our arrangements depth and a natural and not-too-perfectly-sculpted feel. The flowers were a range of whites and very soft pinks and peach, with a balance of greenery as well. We chose vases that were complementary to our “timeless elegance” vision, with a lot of silver and antique selections. Tablescape: In between floral arrangements in our tablescape, we used tall, tapered candles in vintage-style etched glass hurricanes. For our plated dinner, I selected white china with an antique floral design and a silver rim for subtle elegance. Our linens were a variety of green and cream tones, with both prints and solid textures, to honor the garden aesthetic that I wanted to highlight, being an outdoor wedding. Custom duogram-embroidered linen napkins and sterling silver antique napkin rings were used at the head table for an extra special element. One important aspect of the tablescape to me was that I wanted to ensure all guests could see each other across the table in order to promote conversation and the feeling of an intimate dinner, where our guests could enjoy getting to know each other. Each guest had a custom menu with their name printed on a belly band for a personal touch. Table Assignment Display: In order for guests to find their assigned table number, we had a display on silver trays of custom matchbooks that I drew and designed. Each matchbook was individually printed with the guests’ names and table numbers and also served as a fun party favor. This idea was inspired by my love of collecting matchbooks from restaurants, which is especially popular where we live in New York City. Grabbing a matchbook when entering a restaurant, before we sit down for dinner, is always the first thing that my friends and I love to do when we go out to eat! Bar: On our primary bar, we incorporated a custom wrap that featured a rose trellis design that I had drawn and also used in my invitation suite. Raffia Fans: We provided woven raffia fans for our guests to stay cool both during the ceremony and by the bars, which was another way to tie in natural elements, coupled with the bridesmaids’ sweetgrass basket bouquets, and to ensure that guests remained comfortable throughout the night. Lighting: In keeping with my goal to honor the natural landscape and outdoor setting of the wedding as much as possible, we opted for simple and charming string lights in a clear-top tent, so that the lights would reflect off the tent and feel just like being outside, enjoying the twinkling stars at night. It was also really fun when we brought out the dancefloor props and disco cowboy hats toward the end of the night, because you could see the sparkling reflections in the tent overhead.

[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]

Our wedding cake was Sweet Potato Cake from Brick Street Cafe, which has always been my favorite and one that I have requested every year for my birthday. It felt like the perfect celebratory choice, and one that we knew many of our guests already loved too!

[/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]

Ceremony: My uncle officiated our wedding, which felt very special and personal, because he had also previously married two of my cousins. We used a traditional Episcopalian wedding liturgy. Our scripture reading was 2 Corinthians 13, “The Way of Love.” Ceremony music: Our guests were welcomed to our venue and ceremony with a bagpiper playing gathering music as a fun way to honor my Scottish heritage. Adam and I both love all types of music, so we wanted to incorporate a variety of music styles throughout our wedding day. For the ceremony, we had a brass quintet play very traditional wedding songs, including Water Music by Handel for gathering, Canon in D Major by Pachelbel for bridal party entrance, Trumpet Voluntary by Clarke, which I walked down the aisle to, and Wedding March by Mendelssohn, which was our recessional song. In addition to loving the sound of brass instruments, we made the selection for the quintet so that our music could carry volume at an outdoor venue and bring excitement to the wedding ceremony!

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]

It is a southern tradition to have a “Receiving Line” at formal events, so, to honor this tradition playfully, we guided guests from the ceremony to the cocktail hour with a line of waiters holding trays of assorted drinks, ready to receive them and offer them service to ensure they did not have to wait in a line at the bar to get the party started!

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]

As long-time family friends and avid lovers of Croghan’s Jewel Box, I went there in search of their silver hot sauce holder, which Adam has always commented on, to gift that to him as a surprise on the wedding day. We had it engraved to say, “Keep it HOT!” for a cheeky and funny surprise. We placed it at his dinner setting, and he found it upon sitting down, which gave us all a good laugh!

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #3″]

Adam and I are major lovers of champagne, and we often order a bottle to enjoy together because he loves to say, “Let’s just celebrate life!” This choice to do a champagne tower was a no-brainer and a romantic way to honor his fun personality and love for celebrating all of the little moments together

A Tuscan Garden Dreamscape in Peach, Terracotta, and Sky Blue at Il Borro

As guests entered the perfectly manicured garden, they were greeted by peach and ivory florals with pops of terracotta. The installation began at the staircase and grew into the surrounding foliage, creating an otherworldly floral dreamscape.

Where do we even begin with the food and drinks? Let’s start at the Welcome Party. The couple treated their guests to a formal dinner al fresco that could have been its own wedding. Then, the day before, after everyone had settled into their suites at the villa, it was time to unwind by the pool, where they were treated to delicious treats like lemon slushies served in perfectly scooped lemon peels. Instead of a traditional Rehearsal Dinner, the couple showcased the region’s comfort food, PIZZA, with a festive color palette to match. Then on the big day itself, the couple and their guests sipped regional wine and dined on local delicacies like beef carpaccio and fresh pasta.

[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]

For the ceremony, the garden was decorated in mostly ivory flowers with hints of peach and terracotta. Then, the team introduced more warmth into the florals for the reception, with centerpieces featuring peach and blush, with pops of deeper orange.

In keeping with Italian tradition, the chef created a millefoglie on-site, topped with fresh berries and powdered sugar.
