An Intimate Vineyard Wedding Full Of Love

Filled with stunning alfresco moments; this vineyard wedding is one for the books. The high school sweethearts got engaged a few days before the emerging global pandemic caused a lockdown, and in that moment of uncertainty, the idea for their micro-wedding was born. They turned to expert planner Karina Lemke to make their intimate wedding dreams a reality. The result was a relaxed yet elegant day amongst the vines, filled with the most stunning floral installations by Sue Gallo Designs. Corina V. From the bride… Kemar and I are high school sweethearts. We were together during our last two years of high school, all through College and University, and eventually saved up to buy a home together in Burlington. At the time that we got married, we were together for 14 years.

We decided to go ahead with a small intimate wedding on September 19th 2020 with 50 of our closest friends and family at Ravine Vineyard Winery in Niagara-on-the-lake. With the help of our amazing wedding planner, Karina Lemke we planned our dream wedding in 5 weeks. Our wedding day was whimsical, romantic and even more beautiful than we could have expected.

When we first started planning our wedding we always thought we would have a larger wedding with roughly 100-150 guests, but we absolutely loved having a smaller wedding. We were able to spend quality time with our closest family and friends on our special day and create intimate memories that will last a lifetime.

How to Incorporate Old World Elegance at Your Micro Wedding

The historic elements of Georgia’s Swan House make for the ideal location for a dreamy wedding shoot, and that’s why these images are simply stunning. Using the European feel of the venue, Storybook Weddings & Events perfectly incorporated organic, wild details into their design. We’re head over heels for the earthy color palette and luscious floral installation by The Perfect Posey. From taper candles to rose gold vases and a classic tux, this day is the epitome of Old World elegance. From Sarah Sunstrom Photography… This stunning editorial was inspired by the ambiance of the Atlanta Historical Society iconic venue, Swan House. With its old world details and chateau centric feel, it makes for the ideal location for a romantic wedding celebration.

We wanted to use a very earthy palette with a luscious floral installation for the ceremony altar. With the use of all shades of taupe, cappuccino, blush, rust, wheat, soft whites and muted green hues, we had a bloom heavy asymmetric altar feature. The floral combination of a variety of lush garden roses and white oversized chrysanthemums were woven together into the large design using ruscus and dramatic pampas grass to make an impressive backdrop against the water fountains on the estate.

The bride wore two different Mistrelli House of Design gowns. The first featured an ostrich feather cape overlay that is the essence of breathtaking. Whimsical yet fierce this look was captured in gardens of the estate alongside a classic black tuxedo from The Knot Standard. The second Mistrelli look was a classic gown with incredible beading work along the neck and bust as well with a shimmer all throughout the dress. The final look was a Berta collection lace gown that hugged Natalie’s curves..

The cake was a showstopper with all of the elegant and intricate sugar work from the incredibly talented Elaine Drouin Cakes. The three tier cake featured a feather technique in blush and white tipped in gold. The top two tiers had beautiful floral textures reminiscent of the gowns worn.

For the tablescape at our reception table, we had an eclectic grouping of floral cups and taper candles. The floral elements were in rose gold vases with organic arrangements of ranunculus, garden roses, dalias, and ruscus. The place settings were french inspired with soft lines and complemented with hand calligraphed place settings and personalized menus from Sugared Fig Paperie.

This 1928 mansion in the heart of Buckhead is frozen in time and continues to be the inspiration of romance and aesthetic for black tie affairs including weddings today. Creating an emotion with the use of so many beautiful pieces coming together to create a moment in time that no one will forget is what a wedding and marriage is all about. The environment provides a sensory experience that no one can define but it is filled with joy and warmth that we are all still enjoying today.

A Backyard Feel At The Hidden Meadow and Barn With Gorgeous Views and Special Details!

A perfect ‘backyard’ wedding is all this bride wanted when planning her wedding and The Hidden Meadow and Barn was exactly what she was looking for. Rolling hills, beautiful views, and all of the green you could ask for from the Birdy Grey bridesmaid dresses to the bouquet and centerpieces by E.L. From the Bride…

What did you envision your wedding being prior to planning?

I always imagined a big wedding with all my friends and family celebrating the day I would say I do. Being a simple kind of gal, I wanted something unique that spoke for itself and I feel that we accomplished that with Hidden Meadow and Barn. I found Hidden Meadow and Barn accidentally. I was shopping for groceries and casually picked up a Wisconsin Bride Magazine and flipped through a few pages. I saw a beautiful bride and groom sharing a kiss in the sunset of the most beautiful rolling hills we call Wisconsin. I went home that night, requested a showing and we immediately fell in love with the venue the moment we saw it. One of our favorite things about the venue was that we could have everything all in one place (our guests also appreciated this) – our ceremony, reception, and even could stay the night at the Farmhouse on site. A perfect “backyard” wedding.

What was your color palette and your style vision?

My favorite color is green, so I knew I wanted to get married in the summer and to have lots of greenery. I went with mixed greens, white, and gold accents for a color palette.

What unique elements or DIY details did you include?

Some DIY details I included were all of the signage I hand wrote myself. It took me many hours of practice teaching myself modern calligraphy, but I love looking back at my photos and knowing that I did it. It has now turned into a hobby and a little of a side hustle – I will be doing my sister’s wedding as well as one of my bridesmaids who just got engaged.

What was your favorite moment? Your favorite crafted detail?

My favorite moment (other than saying I do), was at the very end of the night. Everyone had left after a full night of dancing and a few of us from our wedding party stayed at the farmhouse on site. We had a campfire with a full moon, overlooking the venue.

My favorite crafted detail is our guestbook globe and our ring box. Brad and I love to travel and wanted to incorporate that somehow into our wedding. The jewelry box that held our rings was hand-made and hand-painted in India where we got engaged.

Flowers

Flowers by E.L. Floral and Design: Another great thing about Hidden Meadow and Barn – especially in the summer- we didn’t need many flowers due to the natural beauty of the property. I kept flowers quite simple and it turned out to be just right for my tastes – simple greenery to run down the center of the tables, mixed greenery with accents of baby’s breath for
the bridesmaids, and of course had to splurge on my bridal bouquet – mixed greenery, white roses, and baby’s breath.

The Dress

The dress I ended up with was not what I thought I would go with. I got the “Veda” by Maggie Sottero. When I first tried it on, I didn’t really like it, but my mom was tearing up she thought it was so beautiful. It wasn’t until later that day we sat down for lunch I saw a picture of me in it and I went back to get it. I loved the detailing on the back of the dress and the waterfall-like train.

Favors and Desert

For our favors/desert: The inspiration came from the fact that we LOVE coffee and donuts. So that’s what we did. We picked out coffee mugs at goodwill’s and other consignment shops – some random and some that made us think of one of our guests. We had a display of all these coffee mugs for our guests to pick one to take home. I still get snap chats and texts whenever anyone uses the mug they chose and got lots of compliments on the idea. The donuts were from a local bakery in Madison where we live (Greenbush Bakery). They were such a hit that I didn’t even get to have one.

Advice

One piece of advice I would give to any bride is not to worry about trying to please everyone. I especially learned this by trying to plan a wedding during a Pandemic. I knew that I could not arrange to make every guest happy/comfortable and worried about the judgments of friends and family about having our wedding. At the end of the day, we feel so blessed that we could still have our wedding and celebrate our love for each other.

This Cabo Wedding Is Full Of Timeless Elegance With A Tropical Twist

Get ready to shake your maracas! This classic meets cool Cabo wedding is giving us all the feels. With the help of expert planning team Amy Abbott Events, this destination wedding is one that guests won’t soon forget. It’s filled with personalized details like custom fans, monogrammed maracas, and an escort card display printed on Mexican tiles that matched the dance floor! The crisp white blooms that gave life to the day were artfully arranged by Pina Cate Design. The special moments are all lovingly captured in the beautiful imagery by Lauren Cate. From the bride… John proposed on a trip to Cabo! John was surfing for a few hours and then came up for some beers… or so I thought. He ran over to the car and when he returned, he was in front of me on one knee. On the way back, we stopped at Flora Farms for a celebratory lunch and to FaceTime our families. As we were leaving, John casually mentioned, “this would be a cool place to get married.” When we got home from our trip, I emailed Flora Farms and a few weeks later we had secured our date and our amazing planner, Amy Abbott Events!

For the favors, we had a table at the entrance with a basket full of woven fans for guests to use in the Cabo heat. Bells and Whistles created a giant escort card display. Each escort card was printed on Mexican tiles that matched our invitations and our dance floor! We also had white maracas with our initials on every place setting for our guests to shake for the grand entrance!

We wanted to accentuate the natural beauty of the farm with a slightly tropical but elegant feel. We chose an all-white theme with lots of greenery and a touch of tropical leaves. We wanted white because we thought it would be timeless and elegant. When you’re there with your new spouse and all your favorite people in one place…it’s truly a magical experience.

A Shoot Inspired by Color, Complete With a Jaw-Dropping Ruffled Lavender Gown

Romance is in the air at this inspiration shoot at the iconic Villa Del Sol D’Oro. Inspired by none other than love and color, this day brings us a load of joyful inspiration. If fun and fancy are your forte, you’ll have major heart eyes for Siren Floral Co.’s color-filled arrangements that completed the look of the design. Amorette Events Co. worked her planning magic to bring this modern-whimsy fairy tale to life by creating the most enchanting tablescape. From Lucy Munoz Photography… This shoot was inspired by color and above all else, love! The joy and wonder of just being in love. After the year we had we really wanted something to reflect getting back to the things we loved so dearly–family, friends, and whatever brought us joy. We realized that uncertainty forced us to evaluate our entire lives, but the things we fought to understand helped us all to grow. Love is the constant in all our relationships and it’s the thing we wanted to celebrate.

Amorette Events designed a beautiful color scheme that was both inviting and colorful. We knew that the Villa De Sol D’ Oro had so much natural beauty and our goal was to enhance that without overpowering it. The gorgeous florals were done by Siren Floral Co and had so much whimsy and color-the exact thing we were looking for. The tulle gown by Millia London exuded joy and the opulence without being too pretentious.

Overall the shoot came together in luminous light, color, and love–all the things we are currently feeling inspired by!

As soon as you get engaged, it won’t be long before you’re following all the wedding accounts on Insta, pinning all of your favorite inspo on Pinterest, and taking vendor reccos from all the real wedding destinations you can handle. Musical Themed Virtual First Birthday Party

Editor’s Note: Virtual celebrations are becoming more and more of a normalized way to celebrate milestones like birthdays and showers, and with that normalization comes a new level of attention to detail that zoom calls have never, ever experienced before. Plus, zoom parties mean families can celebrate from all across the world!

Celebrating milestones during the pandemic is a sign of hope for better days.

Technology can bring us closer, so for Neil’s First Birthday, we threw a Virtual Zoom party.

Family and friends from New Jersey, San Francisco, Australia, and India got together virtually in order to celebrate this little guy. The theme was music, his favorite activity. He had the best time ever!

Overflowing Blooms At Every Turn Make This California Wedding A Must See

Love is worth celebrating. When the global pandemic changed this couple’s plans from a Lake Como wedding to an intimate affair in San Diego, the bride and groom decided to bring the Mediterranean to California. With the help of Crown Weddings, eye-catching vignettes with pops of pink enchant guests from the ceremony through dinner. Overflowing with florals, by Jennifer Cole Florals, an abundance of blooms delighted the eyes and senses. Photographer extraordinaire Garrett Richardson beautifully captured the love in his imagery and even snapped pictures of the lovebirds in a classic Rolls Royce to La Jolla Cove for sunset portraits. From the bride… Chad & I actually met at a very young age. Growing up in Norman, Oklahoma, together – he was my aunt and uncle’s neighbor. He was the cute boy across the street! After years of not seeing one another in person, but remaining in touch via text, he decided to visit me in New York. After seeing each other once, we knew we had finally found the right time to be together!

From the age of 10, I had always spent the summer in San Diego with my family. I think of San Diego as my happy place and knew Chad would fall just as much in love with it as I did. I had always visited La Valencia – and imagined what it would be like to be married there. Even through the difficult circumstances on all levels with new lockdowns due to Covid, July 17th, 2020 was still exactly what we envisioned.

Our Wedding planner Susanne from Crown Weddings and Events created a very special Mediterranean garden filled with vignettes for each part of our day. Because we had already ordered flowers for more guests and a bigger setup Jennifer Cole Florals reimagined them to create a more lush ceremony and tabletop and it was just stunning. We rented a classic Rolls Royce car and our photographer Garrett Richardson took us down to the La Jolla Cove for sunset photos. The view was beautiful, we were able to laugh, kiss and absorb the best decision we have ever made in our lives!

A Coastal Micro-Wedding Honoring Family Legacy and Tradition

Her Paloma Blanca gown, Le Bloomerie’s colorful arrangements filled with roses and ranunculus galore, the adorable two-tiered cake… there is just so much beauty overflowing in today’s real wedding planned by Becca and Co. But the most beautiful of all have to be the special ways in which the couple honored their family’s legacy throughout their day. To these two, family is everything. Kristin Herman Photography said it best, “From fleeting moments of butterflies, to visiting grandpa in his nursing home, it was impossible to maintain a dry eye throughout this romantic and heartfelt micro-wedding…” So grab your tissues and head on over to the full gallery to see why this wedding day might just be one of our all time favorites.

From Kristine Herman Photography… A day drenched in family legacy and tradition. A collection of first responders. An ode to those that came before them and continue to watch over them in love and in life. That’s exactly what Kellie wanted their micro-wedding to represent. The love she felt for Jack, as well as the love and immense respect for her family’s legacy, her grandparents and more. From fleeting moments of butterflies, to visiting grandpa in his nursing home, it was impossible to maintain a dry eye throughout this romantic and heartfelt micro-wedding in the heart of the San Francisco Bay Area. Kellie and Jack faced the turmoil that many 2020 couples did. With the world continually changing, they were forced to reschedule their luxurious Tahoe wedding until next year. But these two knew something – they didn’t want to sacrifice love, marriage, or family due to postponing. So they banded together, with the help of family and long-time family friends, to unite in marriage – even if it was masked and surrounded by only 10 people.

As California continued their shutdowns, the bride and groom were unsure if they were going to be able to tie the knot. But thanks to the long-time family friend and firefighter chaplain, they were able to say their vows in the Catholic Church, which was opened up just for them. The Chaplain officiated, a man who has known and worked with multiple generations of Jack’s family. Kellie wanted to honor her late grandmother, so throughout the day Kellie had sprinkled in butterflies from her invitation suite to her reception. Draped around her bouquet laid a locket with a photograph of her grandma and grandpa and they recreated that classic wedding photo during their own wedding recessional. After the ceremony was complete, they visited her grandpa at his nursing home, even if it meant a drive across town for just a moment of greetings because of having to social distance. Family always came first with these two. And no detail honoring family was left for chance. Inside the top of her gown, Kellie carried a Scicilian cross from her grandmother – a tradition spanning generations in her family. Every female has carried this cross in the bosom of their gowns for every special occasion from graduations to proms, weddings and more.

Following their family visit to grandpa, the bride and groom snuck away to the coast for some romantic portraits, a place special to their love story and down the street from where the groom grew up. They then returned to the groom’s childhood home for wonderful wedding traditions including first dances, cake cutting, and an intimate dinner soiree. While the two had to sacrifice their large lakeside nuptials this year, they still wanted to celebrate every part of a wedding day in this calendar year. They surprised their family members with a choreographed dance, something the groom has suggested and was eager to show off their newly-learned moves. The groom then danced with his mother to a song very special to them, a song she had gifted him on the day of his birth and will forever be their song. Kellie thought of every detail when it came to this day. One of her favorite aspects of her dress was the deep vee back and found the perfect matching flower girl dresses that had that same v-back as well. Although their friends and the majority of their family could not be there, they certainly did contribute to Kellie and Jack’s love story. Kellie’s friend created beautiful invitations to share in the celebration of their micro-wedding, complete with butterflies to honor Kellie’s late grandma, who showed Kellie she was watching over her as a white butterfly arrived on the patio as Kellie was getting her hair and makeup done. Another dear friend whipped up custom cookies for Kellie and Jack’s family to celebrate with as well. Kellie and Jack also took the time to invest in their micro-wedding, knowing that this would forever be their special day, their wedding day. From custom calligraphy place cards, gorgeous blooms, a cake to cut, special details honoring their family, and more, Kellie and Jack certainly knew how to make their micro wedding just as romantic and special.

Today’s Museum Wedding Inspiration Is the Perfect Marriage Between Fashion, Nature and Art

We can’t really put our finger on why, but there’s just something so romantic about getting married at a museum… are we right? We didn’t know it was possible but today’s editorial is what happens when fashion, nature and art merge seamlessly together to create epic wedding inspiration – all thanks to Marni Wishart Photography, Lisa Bridges and The Petaler Floral Co. We’re getting major Bridgerton vibes over at the full gallery – trust us, you’re going to want to spend some extra time pinning this one my friends.

From Marni Wishart Photography… In an exploration of the ways fashion, nature, art, and story interconnect, this editorial brings the paintings and sculptures of the Museum of Fine Arts Houston to life with abundant florals spilling across the floor and painterly colors dancing into the tablescape set for an intimate gathering.

The Bride’s Gown by Monique Lhuillier, aptly named Bloom, is a captivating fantasy inspired by a lush Italian garden. The gown is as perfect a complement to the art inside the Museum Galleries as it is in the Museum Outdoor Gardens. Each of the Bride’s accessories is carefully crafted with luxurious detail such as the handmade headpiece of sculpted flowers creating a radiating crown.

Each piece is both historical and modern, with hints of grandeur. Likewise, the cake is adorned in hand sculpted sugar flowers. The color palette of this celebration is drawn from the paintings and installations of the Museum itself, which in turn were inspired by nature, bringing rich tones and depth to the visual story. The Groom wears a timeless look with white jacket. This real life couple brings true romance to the scene.

A Very California Cool Al Fresco Summer Wedding in West Hollywood

With only three weeks to plan (yup, three weeks), the crazy talented team at Carly Rae Weddings pulled off the most “California cool” soirée at the groom’s parents West Hollywood home. From the bride’s nontraditional dress to the EPIC reception views of downtown LA – every cool girl bride needs to see the full gallery for some major backyard wedding inspo. Big shout out to Braedon Flynn for capturing their sun-soaked day so flawlessly! To say we’re obsessed would be an understatement.

From Carly Rae Weddings… Good grief, where do I begin with Danielle and Adam’s magical wedding? Before COVID, Danielle and Adam were excited to have a destination multiple day wedding in Israel. Once COVID showed that it was here for the long haul, Danielle came to me with 3 weeks to pull off a wedding in Adam’s parents backyard. You read that right — THREE WEEKS.

It’s a safe bet that anything can be done in a short amount of time if you can make decisions. Danielle gave me a total budget, a solid visual direction, and I was off to the races. Due to COVID, we opted to build out her and Adam’s wedding at Adam’s parents’ home in WEHO. Dude, it was such a perfect spot for an event EXCEPT that we had a pool in the location where the dance floor is. I called in the experts: Premiere Party Rentals. This pool install was 2 days long and was so epic to watch the transformation.

Danielle and Adam were married in a pandemic and the best part? Not one guest or vendor got sick. Isn’t that so weird to type in a wedding blog? But I think it’s important to show you something good amidst the year we all had.

Honestly, this wedding was impeccable. It was one I am extremely proud of and that stands out in my career as the shortest timeline and most gorgeous event to date. I hope you enjoy browsing through this gallery as much as I enjoyed putting it together.

With a bright white vintage barn and idyllic countryside landscape, the White Sparrow is the ideal location for a charming Texas wedding venue. It’s enormous windows provided the perfect natural light collaboration to properly photograph each element.

A Micro Wedding In The Berkshires That Feels Anything But Small

Ready for an intimate wedding that’s truly unforgettable? Proving that less can be more, Emma and Colin had to scratch their plans for a large wedding and instead throw a special celebration with their immediate family. The reimagined day transformed a rental home in Massachusetts into a wedding venue that will take your breath away. From the romantic ceremony arch to the table lined with fresh, intentional blooms, Crocus Hale Flowers created magic at every turn. From the bride… Colin and I were originally supposed to get married on May 16th, 2020 at Colin’s family’s church in the town we both grew up in. When COVID-19 hit, we very quickly realized we would not be able to have our wedding on that date. Instead, we wed on July 24, 2020 with our immediate families physically present and friends from around the country logged in to watch it over Zoom.

When it came to planning, luckily I had the help of my sisters and friends to do a lot of re-planning. What was great about the process was we were able to meet some new, wonderful vendors (like our florist Crocus Hale and caterer CRISP Catering), that we hadn’t previously worked with.

It was wonderful to be surrounded by close family and have the opportunity to celebrate our love. We were so happy people were able to witness our wedding via Zoom and we look forward to a larger gathering when it is safe to do so!

A Dreamy Elopement in Paris With Beautiful Backdrops and A Vintage Dior Dress

When photographer Victoria Amrose set out to create an inspiration shoot, she had a vision that included dreamy imagery around Paris, full of warm tones and the perfect dress for the bride…and boy did she deliver! From a beautiful vintage couture Dior dress to insanely gorgeous florals by Maison Vertumne, this shoot has me daydreaming of the city of love (and wanting to binge-watch Emily in Paris…again.) Victoria took the real-life couple everywhere from the Eiffel Tower to Les Deux Plateaux to bring this elopement-style shoot to life! Now, scroll away and get ready for some serious inspiration!

From Victoria Amrose Photography…Paris the capital of romance, was the location for this breath-taking wedding editorial offering aesthetically elegant wedding inspiration in abundance. In keeping with the romantic French capital, this shoot delivered contemporary light-infused, dreamy imagery and warm tones with a timeless and classic nature. The editorial took place in a stunning Haussmannian-style apartment close to the Arc de Triomphe, and around the infamous sights of the city. To maintain romantic authenticity, real-life (& recently married!) couple Valeriia & Daewoong were the bride & groom models for the shoot.

The bride wore her hair down with soft relaxed waves. Make-up was kept natural with a base of the foundation to match skin tone, nude eye shadow, mascara, and pink lips. When it came to the dress, Photographer Victoria Amrose was adamant it had to be perfect. She says, “As we were going to be shooting in one, if not ‘the’ most amazing fashion capitals’ of the world, it was imperative that we had the right dress for the shoot. As an artist, it’s important for me to capture imagery that reflects a contemporary editorial style but that also transcends through time with a classical feel. So I wanted a beautifully understated gown that stood out for all the right reasons and would be perfect for a city elopement. After much searching, I found the most beautiful vintage demi-couture Dior dress online, and I immediately knew it was the ONE! It was a floor-length, light beige, silk gown, with a gathered waist and pleated hem. It looked absolutely amazing on and against the backdrop of Paris. We teamed the gown with a pair of light beige satin bow Oscar de la Renta heels for inside, and peep-toe nude Jimmy Choo pumps outside.”

For our groom, we went for a classic and undeniably chic black-tie look, with a crisp white dress shirt, black dinner trousers, and velvet navy jacket. (Groom’s own)” Huntington House Kitchen provided a simple, yet elegant 2 tiered iced square wedding cake, which was decorated with a hand-dyed silk grey ribbon bow from Lancaster & Cornish. The elegant stationery suite designed by Anna from Evelyn & Elliott included a wedding invite, save the date & reply card, and menu/name cards for the table. Anna says: “The stationery suite was printed on luxury handmade rag paper to create a timeless, elegant design. Soft tones, complementary fonts, and pearl shimmer envelopes were used to reflect the soft romantic feel of the shoot. The set was finished with a wax seal and soft silk ribbon, tying in beautifully with the delicate elements of the sophisticated theme.”

Fresh florals were provided by the incredibly talented Clarisse at Maison Vertumne in Paris and included a hand-tied pink & beige cream bridal bouquet featuring a mix of long-stemmed flowers of roses, a stunning dahlia, and a variety of complimentary green foliage.

The light and airy apartment featured an intimate wedding breakfast table-scape. Set for six the table included the most beautiful fresh floral centerpiece designed by Maison Vertumne, which co-ordinated with the bridal bouquet alongside the addition of sumptuous pink peonies. The floor-to-ceiling windows in the apartment provided beautiful soft light for the getting ready photos. Once the preparation photos were taken it was time to venture out into the city and embrace the fabulous sights of Paris. Victoria Amrose says: “We started at the incredible Louvre with the impressive glass pyramid and elegant buildings providing the amazing backdrop. There was a super sweet moment between the couple with an exchange of a simple romantic rose, on the ornate steps outside the museum. And the line of decorative French lampposts besides the pyramid gave us the perfect leading line into the couple.”

Then we headed over to the architecturally stunning Palais-Royal for some beautiful portraits alongside the artistic black-and-white columns, Les Deux Plateaux, and incredible arch walkway; before stopping for a coffee at Le Nemours.
We finished up at the most famous landmark of all, the Eiffel Tower, for romantic portraits on the steps and down by the fountains. Ending with shots of our loved-up couple taking a stroll along the Trocadéro square during the last romantic soft light of the day. It was such a beautiful day and as you would imagine Paris really does offer limitless locations for portraits that look tonally consistent. We wanted to curate a set of images that not only offers dreamy wedding inspiration but also reflects the incredibly romantic nature of the city.

Intimate Santa Barbara Wedding Planned In Just Four Weeks

In just a few short weeks, Melaina and Matt pulled together a wedding that wows. The highschool sweethearts decided to put their plans for a large wedding aside and celebrated their love at a micro wedding full of sweet details. The couple enlisted the help of Santa Barbara Elopement to bring their wedding dreams to life. Anna Le Pley Taylor worked with white blooms and greenery to bring the day to life. From the bride… Matt and I met many, many years ago as Sophomores in high school. Our connection was instant, the conversation was easy and we both knew it was meant to be. Our relationship has grown tremendously, built on friendship and full of trust, respect, and compassion. We have never felt the need to rush our love and we have savored every moment of building our life together.

We decided to forgo our plans for a large wedding and we began to plan an elopement or micro wedding. We booked our venue just four weeks before our wedding date. We kept our guests to our immediate families and we asked my brother to be our officiant. It was important to us that everything about our wedding felt like us. Not stuffy or fussy, not rushed or forced.

Everything about our day felt effortless, as though it was all meant to be. We savored every moment – from our first glass of champagne as husband and wife to the breathtaking sunset at dinner. It was truly a celebration of our love!

Floral Filled Wedding Inspiration With Classic Tones at the Incomparable Hammersky Vineyards

The classic white farmhouse of our dreams set among hundreds of acres bursting with vines, it’s no wonder Hammersky Vineyards will always hold a special place in our hearts over here at SMP. Today’s inspiration from Embark Event Design combines textured floral, clean modern lines, black and white tones and a stunning gown from Marchesa – I mean, need we say more? We couldn’t be more obsessed with Blooms by Morgan’s arrangements, complete with purity cosmos adding a subtle pop a color. From Embark Event Design… This sun soaked inspiration set at the classic farmhouse winery & estate HammerSky Vineyards captured on film by Ninety Three Creative is bursting with textured floral, clean modern lines, black and white tones and a stunning gown from Marchesa Bridal. We centered this design around the classic & timeless HammerSky Vineyards venue – an iconic California winery estate specialized in hosting intimate affairs.

The classic style of the farmhouse and barn rich with history and set among hundreds of acres bursting with vines complimented the soft texture, and classic, muted tones throughout the day. Our bride’s sweeping Marchesa Fashion gown was dotted with hand sewn floral elements, creating a tangible & romantic bridal look. Her cathedral length veil from Untamed Petals added a bit of drama to the look while keeping it sweet & feminine, paired perfectly with an Untamed Petals floral earring in a soft ivory color. Fresh blooms full of texture added depth to the design, using a base of neutral colors to compliment our tone on tone design.

Our bridal bouquet was overflowing with purity cosmos, adding a soft pop of cream & yellow, while the neutral colors of our living ceremony pieces added some light to the ceremony area, placed perfectly under the grand oak tree, hundreds of years old and nestled perfectly just beyond the farmhouse. Our reception table was set against the all white barn – perfect for an intimate dinner overlooking the vines. Ink Sugar Co. Designed a custom black menus to lead guests to their seat & preview the incredible al fresco style dinner ahead, as well as a custom invitation suite featuring modern text elements and printed blooms. The classic invitation suite was accompanied with a welcome bag full of locally sourced items to give guests a warm welcome to wine country.

A Fantastical Floral Staircase Is Just The Start Of This Fairytale Day

Prepare to be in awe. A grand staircase dripping with blooms created by Twisted Willow Flowers is just the start of the wow-factor at this inspired shoot. Blending European old-world details and modern-refined elements, Arielle Fera Events created a day that delights. Filled with more Pinterest-worthy details than we can count, Lauren Fair Photography captures the romance of the day beautifully in her imagery. From Lauren Fair Photography… We centered this inspiration shoot around the incredible interior spaces of Elkins Estate. The exquisite paper details, menus, place cards, and heirloom invitation suite featured handmade paper, vellum wrap, velvet ribbon, and custom wax seals designed by PaperTree Studio. The calligraphy details were hand-lettered by Caitlin Jane Calligraphy.

Twisted Willow Flowers adorned the lavish interior staircase with florals and greenery which served as the ceremony focal point. The jaw-dropping floral design on the staircase was a wow moment that will not soon be forgotten.

We opted to style the tables inside the ballroom that exuded French detail from the ceiling to the wallpaper to the incredible chandeliers. Arielle Fera Events styled a gorgeous tablescape using luxury rentals from White Glove Rentals. Our team hopes that this shoot inspires couples to blend European, old-world details with modern and refined elements to create elevated romantic weddings of their own.

Watercolor Paintings, Garden Style Florals, and a Natural Palette Inspired This Kiawah River Wedding

From the bride’s Ines Di Santo floral gown to the tented reception with picturesque views of the sparkling marsh, today’s wedding at Kiawah River is the epitome of southern charm. The Petal Report left no detail unturned to bring the bride and groom’s vision to life – a romantic affair inspired by watercolor paintings, garden style flowers and an airy palette that perfectly complimented their surroundings. Our favorite part? The candle wedding favors from a local shop in Charleston complete with three scents representing their favorite places – the beach, the mountains, and their first home. From the Bride, Emily… Trevor proposed on Sullivan’s Island in Charleston, SC while taking our pup, Winnie for a sunset beach walk. We finished the evening with amazing local tacos and calling our family!

Fill us in on the overall ‘inspiration’ for your wedding design/decor!

Charleston has such a special place in both of hearts as it is the place where we fell in love and both began our adult and professional lives. It was a no brainer to wed in the place we love most because it also happens to have some of the most beautiful locations to tie the knot. Although no location could hold a candle to our incredible venue, Kiawah River on Johns Island. It was exactly what we were hoping for; from the ancient oak trees to the seemingly endless coastal property, there certainly is a magical quality felt there. Our venue was the backbone of our inspiration, it supported all wedding design and decision making moving forward. My planner, the incomparable, Emma Job from The Petal Report worked tirelessly to bring our shared vision to life on November 7th, 2020.

Aside from our breathtaking venue, Emma and I drew inspiration from watercolor paintings, garden style florals, and a light and natural color palette that would still feel cozy and romantic for an early November wedding. My Ines DiSanto wedding gown had the texture and colors that complimented our venue and established the color palette beautifully, it was a match made in heaven.

We wanted our cocktail hour to be an immersive, multi-sensory experience for our guests. We dreamt up a vision of guests listening to the string duo, Coastal Chambers Musicians while sipping champagne or a delicious autumn inspired signature cocktail, “The Winnie” by Cru Catering. We wanted guests to stroll the property and enjoy watching our live painter, Chloe Strickland, paint the gorgeous landscape of Kiawah River as the sun would set over the marsh. Our guests of all ages enjoyed the nostalgia of swinging under big trees as only a teacher knew they would! We brought scent to our wedding day by designing a candle display with three signature scents from a local, favorite shop, Candlefish for guests to enjoy smelling and selecting from. Many of our friends and family have reached out sharing how they have loved lighting their candles at home and reminiscing about that evening! Each scent was inspired by a different, important place to us and was depicted by a mini painting by me. Scents included: the beach, the mountains, and our first home in North Carolina.

What were some unique or special wedding details/any DIY touches you loved?

Our escort card tree installation is the perfect example of how my lofty, ethereal dreams met functional design. Seeing details such as this one come to life by Emma and the Petaloso floral team was magical and added an interactive element for our guests to make their way to seats. Another special wedding detail was our custom watercolor crest designed by Simply Jessica Marie. We worked with her and Kelsey Malie Calligraphy to ensure all of our printed materials were memorable and coincided with the painterly vibe we were going for. From our invitation suite to our menus with hand calligraphed names of our guests, all of our paper goods were works of art!

Time for the best part – was were some of your favorite moments of the day?

Our favorite moment of the day had to be our “secret” vow exchange prior to the ceremony and guests’ arrival. I highly recommend combining your “first look” with a personal vow exchange or letter reading. It was so special sharing our own words to each other on a secluded path surrounded by water and the beautiful Lowcountry. We were both shaking from all the excitement and nerves. We knew once guests began to arrive, we would both go into hosting mode, so exchanging vows beforehand gave us the time and space we needed to focus only on each other for a few, sweet moments. Followed closely by reuniting with our dog! The whole day was truly a dream come true!
Within a large U-shaped table arrangement, watching guests share a family-style, southern meal at long tables adorned with loose florals in handmade ceramic pottery finished with blush taper candles created an unforgettable ambiance.

My niece was my original flower girl but was unable to fly to my wedding due to COVID risks and her young age. The decision for her not to come was made late in hopes things would turn around, all the COVID couples understand this! At the last minute, I called some mamas of past students of mine and they were able to quickly order some dresses and make my flower girl dreams come true! They had the best night ever twirling on the dance floor, roasting s’mores, and of course, swinging!

A favorite moment from the night was taking the girls to sneak some icing off from our gorgeous, hexagon shaped cake, inspired by my wedding gown (made by ABCD cakes)!

Any advice for future brides and grooms!?

To all the COVID couples, altering your expectations of what your original wedding may have looked like does not have to be a heartbreaking experience. Although it will certainly have some moments that will feel heartbreaking when you make a sacrifice you never wanted to or someone you never thought wouldn’t be at your wedding suddenly isn’t able to come. I had to actively adjust my thinking often and try to see planning during this time as an opportunity to carefully select what was most important to us as a couple. Get creative to bring those things to fruition. Do this and find a way to feel proud of what you have planned, and I promise you won’t be thinking of all the sacrifices when your day comes around.

A View of Manhattan, and A Second Dress That is Anything But White At Sound River Studios!

Copper hues and jewel tones mixed with light and feminine blush florals by Olivia Howard Designs make up for this modern styled shoot, featuring a real couple and you can certainly feel the love! Taking place at Sound River Studios, with Manhattan as the backdrop, Simply Styled Events planned the day photographed by Judson Rappaport with each bride changing their beautiful white dresses to stunning black gowns. From Judson Rappaport…Going into this styled shoot we were aiming for a light, airy, feminine vibe. We wanted simple, beautiful details that make a big impact. Copper and orange tones can be found in just about every photo – the large table centerpiece, bridal bouquets, base plates, mugs, candlesticks, and even copper foil on the wedding cake all came together to create a timeless yet unique look. Our models’ beautiful bright red hair even ended up tying into the overall look of the day!

The shoot took place at Sound River Studios in Long Island City, NY. It is a large, warehouse-style building with sky-high ceilings and white columns. The venue sits right along the East River. There is a terrace off the back of the venue that is perfect for cocktail hour as the view of Manhattan is breathtaking! Luckily for us, it was a beautiful, sunny summer day which helped make for gorgeous photos. One of the best things about this venue is that it’s such a blank canvas that really allows the event design to shine.

We wanted this shoot to feel as authentic as possible, so we brought in a lot of “extras” to help make that happen. The STUF’d food truck that served the main course, the ice cream to-go treat from A La Mode, and the wardrobe change, helped to make the event seem more “real.” Not to mention the undeniable chemistry that the models, Sara and Sumaya have. They are a real couple and their love for each other can be seen in every photo!

We are very proud of this shoot. During a time where there were basically no events happening, we all walked away from this shoot feeling so happy and fulfilled, because creating and capturing events is what we truly love to do.

Barnyard Themed 2nd & 4th Co-Birthday Party

Editor’s Note: We love when wedding planners put together the COOLEST kid’s birthday parties. This Banyard-themed birthday party has all of the attention to detail you’d expect from someone who puts together swanky soirees for a living, and we love every element of it!

As a wedding planner, planning my children’s birthday parties always begin months in advance. Since both of my children have birthday’s on holidays (Thanksgiving & Christmas), I chose to have a co-birthday party for them while the weather was nice so we could host the party outside.

With Covid on everyone’s minds, we wanted to spread the party out as much a possible, provide hand sanitizer throughout, offer masks should anyone need them and post reminders to give everyone space. Fortunately we have a marina in our neighborhood that allowed us to do that very thing.

My children love farm animals so we made that our theme. Everything from invites to paper products to animals being at the party all fell within that theme. Guests were greeted with farm animal party hats. Signage was created not only reminded guests to stay a “Cow’s Length Apart” but also directed guests to restrooms, the BBQ food truck, pony rides and petting zoo.

For the grown-up farm lovers, we provided a rustic alcohol/non-alcohol bar. We chose to do a BBQ food truck not only because it is a crowd favorite but also because we wanted to make sure food safety was a priority. Buffets would have given way to much access to the food and we wanted to be safe plus…. Who doesn’t love a food truck. Desserts included cotton candy (request of the birthday girl), farm animal cookies and mini cow print cakes.

As guests departed, they received a farm animal bag that included a blow up farm animal ball, farm animal mask and custom box of “animal” crackers. During the crazy time, we wanted to let the kids have fun in a safe environment.
