A Whimsical Coastal Garden Party Infused With Color and Laid-Back Luxury

A soft, romantic palette of lavender, blush, peach, buttery yellow, and pale blue created a dreamy and elevated coastal atmosphere. These hues were incorporated into every detail of the day, from the florals and stationery to glassware and textiles. To elevate the reception space, a bold pop of pink was woven in, creating a dynamic contrast that still feels cohesive. From the fresh fruit to the guest attire, the choice to play with color felt perfectly matched for this destination wedding.

The vibe of the wedding can truly be described as a garden party by the sea, both effortlessly elegant and whimsical. Inspired by the rich textures and joyful spirit of Mexican design, natural wood accents and bright, expressive colors were incorporated to bring out the warmth of the celebration. The lush florals, natural textures, color palette, and bold, intentional design gave off a sense of laid-back luxury. To keep the atmosphere intimate and welcoming, thoughtfully placed lounge furniture invited guests to relax and connect. Throughout the space, visual moments- like colorful installations and hand-rolled cigars- were meticulously designed, encouraging guests to explore and spark conversations.

To celebrate their five-year anniversary, Noah planned a special evening, starting with a sunset at the cliffs in Newport Beach, California. The location was hand-picked by Noah for its quiet intimacy and breathtaking ocean views, a meaningful backdrop that reflected their shared love for the sea. Unbeknownst to Sophia, Noah’s best man had arrived early to ensure the spot was clear. As the sun dipped low, Noah took Sophia’s hand and spoke from the heart, sharing how deeply he loved her and the future he dreamed of building together. Then, he got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. Sophia, to no one’s surprise, said yes without hesitation with teary eyes and a huge grin.

Guests were welcomed with a tequila and hibiscus cocktail, complete with a custom drink topper. During cocktail hour, tray-passed hors d’oeuvres were paired with three signature drinks: a purple gin for her, a bold tequila option for him, and a playful alcohol-free ‘Best Pup’ mocktail as a nod to their beloved dog. Dinner was an intimate, three-course meal highlighting fresh, locally sourced ingredients that showcased the region’s vibrant cuisine. As the night unfolded, guests were treated to late-night tacos and churros for a fun, flavorful ending. [/field]

The floral design evoked a dreamy garden ambiance, overflowing with garden roses, delphinium, and lisianthus in sunset hues with pops of blue and purple. Lush, full arrangements were thoughtfully placed in baskets, creating the sense of hand-picking fresh blooms from a vibrant garden. The ceremony space featured a broken floral arch that framed the bright blue ocean, while a cascade of florals lined the aisle. Transitioning to the reception, lush blooms framed the stage of the band to further invoke the garden aesthetic. Wood structures were adorned with vibrant pink blossoms and accented with wicker chandeliers. Each table was artfully set with an array of flowers, flickering candles, and fresh citrus fruit, combining natural elegance with festive vibrancy.

The modern wedding cake was a true showstopper. Complete with cascading ombre florals, the striking cake was surrounded by fresh blooms, echoing the garden-inspired feel of the celebration and framing the delicious centerpiece. The wedding cake sat against the ocean backdrop, turning the cake into a photo op that many guests went out of their way to capture.

Sophia and Noah’s ceremony was officiated by the bride’s brother, making the moment incredibly special and personal. Overlooking the ocean, the setting- complete with swaying palm trees and salty air- captured their love for the sea. After the touching vows, the celebration continued with a live band that kept the energy high and guests dancing under the twinkling lights. Adding a unique nod to the grooms’ passion, a cigar roller offered custom-initialed cigars. This fun element created a memorable evening and a unique favor.

The escort wall was a standout detail that captured something deeply personal to the couple. Food is their love language. Many of their most cherished moments leading up to the big day were spent cooking, creating, and laughing together in the kitchen. They used this shared passion as the inspiration for the escort display, which featured their favorite cookbooks, artisanal hot sauces, and fresh ingredients. It was a warm and whimsical way to welcome their loved ones and share their love for culinary creativity and the memorable experiences that brought them together.

The evening ended with a literal bang. The bride changed into a fun dress to dance the night away with her new husband. All the guests surrounded the couple on the dance floor for the entire evening. As the band played Marry You by Bruno Mars, fireworks erupted overhead, painting the sky with colors and perfectly punctuating a night of love, laughter, and unforgettable memories.

At the heart of the design is a delicate yet statement-making shade of pink, woven throughout the florals, décor, and personal details to evoke warmth, joy, and timeless romance. Blush and soft pastel pinks serve as the foundation of the palette, appearing in lush blooms like spray roses, ranunculus, and sweet peas. These softer tones are complemented by deeper, more vibrant pinks found in poppies and dahlias, adding dimension and a touch of whimsy. The florals, which also feature hints of ivory, buttery yellows, and soft lilacs, mirror the natural, wild beauty of an abundant garden in peak bloom. He took Kaleigh to Butler Metro Park in Austin, and after setting things up, Shayne got on one knee and asked Kaleigh to be his “forever picnic date”. The rest is history!

After trying on several options, they fell in love with a breathtaking A-line gown by Maggie Sottero. The dress featured delicate, three-dimensional floral appliqués that cascaded across the bodice and skirt, creating a whimsical, romantic feel that perfectly matched Kaleigh’s vision. One of the standout elements was the removable shoulder wrap, which added an extra layer of elegance and gave her two distinct looks throughout the day. The gown effortlessly captured the essence of a garden party celebration—floral, airy, and full of joy.

The floral and decor vision is of a lush, garden-party-inspired affair that feels effortlessly romantic and brimming with natural beauty. A carefully curated selection of seasonal blooms creates a rich tapestry of texture and color, with ranunculus, sweet peas, irises, dahlias, cosmos, poppies, roses, and spray roses blending harmoniously. The addition of trailing green amaranthus introduces a touch of movement and depth, evoking the organic elegance of an overgrown garden in full bloom. The patterned green linens and velvet couches add as whimsical accents to the bright florals. Each flower, chosen with precision by Forsynthia Florals, complements the wedding’s color palette, ensuring a seamless flow between the floral elements and the overall design. The bouquet is tied together with a soft pink ribbon stem wrap, perfectly matched to the delicate pink hues found in pink florals, adding a refined and personal touch. The result is a design that feels fresh, romantic, and timeless—a true reflection of the beauty and joy of the wedding day.

The result is a wedding cake that is not only a visual showpiece but also a reflection of the couple’s love story—timeless, romantic, and blooming with beauty.

Shayne’s pride and joy, a sleek 1990 Fox Body Mustang affectionately named “Buffy,” played a starring role in the celebration. Decked out in hand-painted tin cans, flowing tulle, and ribbons that matched the wedding’s color palette, Buffy sparkled with vintage charm and personal flair as she waited to whisk the newlyweds away. Adding an extra touch of fun, Shayne’s groom’s cake paid tribute to his beloved car and his love for golf—it featured a detailed miniature model of Buffy cruising around his favorite hole at his favorite course, a playful and heartfelt nod to his passions.[/field]

Kaleigh wanted to infuse their wedding day with a fun, unexpected twist that truly reflected their personalities—so she and Shayne sourced a vintage tattoo vending machine and gave it a bold, custom makeover with a fresh coat of pink spray paint (naturally!). Always one for the details, Kaleigh designed a collection of playful, couple-themed temporary tattoos and stocked the machine with “his and hers” stickers for guests to discover and enjoy throughout the reception. It quickly became a crowd favorite, sparking laughter, photo ops, and a touch of nostalgic charm that perfectly captured the couple’s vibrant, creative spirit.

An Intentional Autumn Soirée Beneath the Lowcountry Sunset

Midnight navy to bring a coastal feel. Light pinks and white for classic bridal elements. Greens, wooden tones & brown leather accents to complement the fall season, Spanish moss, outdoor fire area, and evening cigars. Burgundy to accompany the red wine, sangria signature cocktails.

An elegant autumn sunset soiree in the Lowcountry. To create an atmosphere of love & connection. We wanted the night to be a captivating, memorable, and joy-filled time for everyone in attendance, so we were very intentional in keeping the guest experience in mind when making decisions. Being surrounded by the beauty of the coastline, the live oak trees with Spanish moss, and if we were lucky, a spectacular sunset. Weather conditions on the coast are never guaranteed but we intentionally chose a wedding date further out from our engagement so that we could get married in the month with the best climate in Bluffton and have the best chance of ditching a rain plan to share the sunset view that we had grown to love at Colleton River Club with our friends & family on the big day. To add to the ambiance, we incorporated string lights, decided against a tent so that we could have a full view of the twilight above us, and included an outdoor fire area for cigars later into the night. The design that our wedding planner, Amy Plant-Perdue, created for us was a perfect balance of feminine and masculine elements we loved. Lush and organic floral designs were paired with clean lines and wood tones. From the planner’s perspective: Ginny & Lee wanted an experience for their guests that reflected this place they love, and they wanted the decor to reflect the location and enhance the experience. They wanted to be intentional about the design choices we made. So we were sure to do just the right amount of decor, only what would add to the space and not distract from it. We chose colors and design elements that nodded to the coast, but weren’t beachy. And we were sure to include the moody colors and dark wood tones to keep it feeling a little more elevated. We played with patterns and textures to add interest.

On February 12th, 2023, Lee planned a romantic proposal at Freeman Park on Carolina Beach, NC. With the sun shining, the two decided to go for a walk on the beach before meeting with friends for lunch. Tucked in a corner of the dunes was a beautiful floral display set up by the Bride’s closest friends. Lee got down on one knee and asked Ginny to marry him. The celebrations continued with surprise appearances from family and friends who had come to celebrate the happy couple.

For the gown and veil, the Bride was on the hunt for a dress in a delicate silk fabric with smooth lines and graceful movement, yet one that felt structured and polished. While looking for a simple design, she wanted the material and silhouette to stand out. She found her dress by Ines Di Santo and added a double French bustle. She paired it with a two-tiered horsehair veil. As the evening grew cooler, she added a fur shawl, and the groom changed into a dinner jacket to match.

Andraya from Flora brought our vision to life perfectly. And the cool tones of all the linens allowed the burgundy in the florals to pop. Andraya was super intentional about the size and scale of all our arrangements, making sure they added to every space instead of being overwhelming. Low dinner table arrangements were key for the waterfront breeze and also allowed guests to interact seamlessly.

From the planner – The wedding cake(s) were probably my (Amy) very favorite part of the night! Instead of having only one large wedding cake, we ordered a small cake for the bride and groom and a small cake for each dinner table. One guest at each table had a cake server put at their place setting, with a little note tied on to explain to them that they, on behalf of their table, had been designated to participate in the cake cutting tradition alongside the bride and groom. When it was time, the DJ counted down, and everyone cut their cake together. Watching this unfold was so fun–the surprise and joy on guests’ faces was amazing to witness. It was the best kind of interactive wedding detail!

Spanish red-wine sangria is our signature cocktail. We met studying abroad in Spain and have fond memories of enjoying the local sangria most afternoons during our time there.

* To create an atmosphere of connection, we sought to enhance the guest experience and surround everyone with the natural beauty we had come to know and love in the Lowcountry. To involve our guests, we brought out cakes to each table for our guests to participate in the cake cutting with us, a special idea of our wedding planner. The surprise and excitement that circulated amongst the crowd have remained a treasured memory for us. During the ceremony, we included our friends and family in a ring warming ceremony.  From the big decisions of renting cottages along the property for many guests to stay, to the small details like adding cushions to the chairs and umbrellas over the ceremony area, every decision was centered around this theme of guest comfort and experience. Our intended result came to life as everyone around us was feeling their very best, and they brought a magnetic and unforgettable energy to the celebrations.

We loved our day-of signage details. Our favorite aspects included a wilderness print for the menus and classic fall textures of wood and leather for the table numbers. We were also excited to include our dogs in the ceremony because they played a big role in the start of our relationship. After initially meeting in Spain, we ran back into each other five years later walking our dogs in Raleigh, NC… and the rest is history.

The fitted lace silhouette, adorned with subtle beading, highlighted her figure beautifully, while the champagne hue added a touch of warmth and modern romance. The open back and intricate detailing made a statement, and when paired with her cascading curls and dramatic, lace-trimmed veil, she looked like a vision straight out of a dream. Throughout the day, guests couldn’t help but mention how much she resembled Sabrina Carpenter—a fitting coincidence for Savannah Carpenter herself!

Guests were all transported from the Atlanta airport to the venue through prearranged shuttles. Upon arrival, they were greeted at the entrance and whisked to a private room where they were welcomed with a signature iced tea and private room check-in. Guests were also treated to a personalized gifting experience where they were given customized toile bags where they could “shop” for a variety of snacks, and items that would be helpful for their stay on the lake, such as sunglasses, sunscreen, and bug spray. As a surprise to the couple, we worked with both sides of the family to create a custom crossword puzzle about the couple. They love doing crosswords together, and we thought this would be a fun touch, personalized golf pencils, too, of course!

One of the most touching moments came when the couple wrote handwritten thank-you notes to each guest that were inside the envelopes where they found their dinner seating assignment, expressing gratitude and personal memories.

We also had an espresso truck on-site during dinner service, offering handcrafted lattes, cappuccinos, and specialty coffee drinks that gave guests a cozy little pick-me-up between courses and before hitting the dance floor. To add a sweet Southern touch, we featured a charming pie bar with a variety of classic Southern pies, giving guests a delicious and nostalgic alternative to traditional wedding cake.

A Floral-Filled Celebration in Shades of Blush and Green at Stone Tower Winery

Karys and Blaine had plans to stay at the Salamander Resort in Middleburg for the weekend to celebrate Blaine’s birthday. Karys knew they would get engaged at some point in the next year, but had no idea Blaine had asked her parents and picked out a ring (which he brought her mother and sister to see before proposing). They headed down to dinner early to grab drinks and went on a walk through the property where he ultimately proposed. Blaine had a photographer shooting the whole thing and had both of their families there to surprise Karys and celebrate at dinner afterwards. The biggest and best surprise of her life.

It was a hot summer day, so what better way to greet guests than with cucumber mint-infused water and sun-kissed peach iced tea? Clothespin Short Rib Taco, Southern Fried Chicken and Waffle Cone, Cinnamon Sugar Doughnut Slider, & Macaroni and Cheese Croquettes were passed to guests during cocktail hour, and a charcuterie display was provided to complement the winery scene. Karys and Blaine also had two signature cocktails- a pear lavender lemonade for the bride and a transfusion for the groom. A plated dinner, starting with a peach and arugula salad and a choice of salmon or beef tenderloin. A late-night snack of Truffle Pommes Frites Cone and Cheeseburger Sliders finished off the night.

Florals played a huge, if not the biggest, role during wedding planning. Flowers were the most important factor for Karys. Sophie Felts delivered on the design, complete with a seven-foot arch, elevated and low compote arrangements, garlands, and tons of candlelight to create an elegant and warm ambiance throughout the evening. The design complemented the colors, with the accent color of gold added in small touches like flatware, gold-rimmed chargers, glassware, and geometric candle holders. Pink was also used to ground the design in the napkin selection, and dinner plates, along with an ivory and gold shimmer linen to create dimension, pattern, and texture play.

Their wedding video is something they will cherish forever.

The inspiration behind our day was for it to feel intimate, elegant, and timeless. While we were dating, we always joked that if we got married, we would secretly elope in Europe & surprise everyone when we got back. After we got engaged, we realized we wanted to celebrate our love surrounded by the people who mattered most. So, when it came to planning our wedding day, we knew we wanted to have something small, but elegant, with our family and closest friends to give an intimate elopement vibe. We chose an outdoor garden venue at a boutique hotel, The Island House, that was already surrounded by lush greenery, and we knew we wanted the décor to complement the natural beauty of the surroundings. We had a live jazz band throughout the day to match the vibe of the ceremony, cocktail hour, and dinner. We chose to hold both the ceremony and reception in the same outdoor space, which allowed us to create a seamless flow between the two.

Harry and I met on a dating app and had the crazy idea to take a trip to New York after knowing each other for two weeks. When we met in person for our first date, we actually discovered that we had been living just down the street from each other for two years, but our paths never crossed. Exactly one year after we took that spontaneous trip to New York, we decided to return to celebrate our one-year meet-a-versary. I had no idea that Harry was planning to propose. The plan was to go to an art museum before dinner, which turned out to be a sunset helicopter tour over Manhattan. As we were landing, there was a “marry me” sign on the runway. I looked over and saw that he was holding the ring. Of course, I started crying uncontrollably before I said yes. It was, without a doubt, the most perfect proposal I could have ever imagined.

Choosing my dress was a bit overwhelming at first because all of my inspo pictures were trumpet & mermaid silhouettes, and I had no interest in trying ball gown-style dresses. However, after trying on multiple dresses and designers, I chose the Zinaida Ivory Mikado Dress with a Pleated Bodice Keyhole and Cap-Sleeves by Maggie Sottero. For shoes, I went with the Valentino ivory rock stud heels, and Tiffany Paloma Picasso Olive Leaf Drop Earrings to complete the look.

For our cocktail hour, canapés included Pesto Bruschetta, Crab Cakes, and Caprese Tarts. For dinner, guests have a choice of lemon oregano roast chicken or blackened mahi mahi served with roasted potatoes and vegetables. For dessert, we had white chocolate cheesecake with passion fruit drizzle. In addition to red and white wine, we featured one signature drink in both an alcoholic and non alcoholic version called ‘Clean Slate,’ which included vodka, cucumber, lemon, and agave. It was also the drink we both ordered on our first date.

Our wedding florals captured a soft and whimsical look with greens and ivory, which complemented the existing greenery of the outdoor space. For the ceremony, we had an arched arbor covered with a combination of white roses, eucalyptus leaves, and white hydrangeas, which created an elegant focal point. Along the aisle, we had planter boxes filled with the same florals, and mahogany chairs to give a warm contrast to the floral arrangements. After the ceremony, the space was transformed for the reception with a long captain’s table set in the center with bistro lights above. The table was decorated with gold taper candles and floral arrangements of white roses, eucalyptus leaves, and more white hydrangeas, to keep the elegant and timeless feel.

Our wedding cake was a classic and elegant three-tier design, covered with chocolate ganache and fondant with delicate Lambeth piping along the bottom and sides. The vintage-inspired details gave it a timeless, romantic feel that perfectly matched the vision for our day. The vanilla cake with caramel filling was simple yet intricate, making it both a beautiful centerpiece and treat.

We had a live jazz band that set the perfect tone for entertainment throughout the day, playing as guests arrived before the ceremony and continuing through the cocktail hour and dinner, which enhanced the overall vibe of the celebration. We curated the entire playlist for the day during the band’s practices, which was such an unforgettable experience for us. The overall vibe for the music for the day was romantic & soul classics. For the bride’s entrance, I chose an acoustic version of “Turning Page” by Sleeping At Last, for the cake cutting, we chose “Find Someone Like You” by Snoh Aalegra, and for our first dance, we chose “You Are the Best Thing” by Ray LaMontagne.

They installed a large tent in Beano’s Cabin meadow and ran all power off a generator. Tess and Harrison embraced “coastal vibes in the mountains,” featuring French blues, soft greens, and a cozy, residential-style décor. This wedding was the very first at Beano’s Cabin to be held in the meadow, requiring the construction of an impressive new tent.

Harrison proposed on a beach in Tasmania, Australia, with close friends secretly filming and celebrating. “Our proposal was incredibly special. We got engaged on a beach in Tasmania, Australia. We were in Tasmania, traveling with our close friends Felicity and Josh, who had gotten married two weeks prior. The four of us had spent the day on a private wine tour. We had rented a house in a town called Dolphin Sands- the house had a beautiful private beach. After we returned from wine tasting, Harrison, Felicity, and Josh suggested we watch the sunset on the beach. Felicity and Josh went ahead of us to the beach and set up a picnic blanket with champagne and a charcuterie board. Harrison led me down to the beach and asked me to marry him. Felicity and Josh were hiding in the bushes, and Felicity filmed the proposal- thinking of them hiding in the bushes still makes me chuckle to this day. It was the most beautiful setting and the most beautiful day. What was also unique about the proposal was that due to the time difference, we decided to wait until morning in the U.S to call our friends and family. For a few hours, only the four of us knew about the proposal. It was truly unique to spend a few hours unplugged, celebrating our engagement with our close friends, allowing us to savor the moment. We hope to go back to the house in Dolphin Sands someday in the future- it will forever be a special place to us.”

Their first date was a late-running coffee meetup followed by a hike. “Harrison and I met online while Harrison was living in Denver and I was living up in the mountains in Beaver Creek. Harrison drove two hours up to Beaver Creek for our first date. We met for the first time in the parking lot of a local coffee shop, as we planned to then go on a hike. I showed up twenty-thirty minutes late as I had lost track of time while running errands that day. Harrison, of course, at first had thought that I had stood him up. Thank goodness he did not leave, as the rest is history. We did end up going on a hike in Beaver Creek, which led to dinner and now, although this may sound a little cheesy, every year around the date of our anniversary, we try to take that same hike and get dinner in Beaver Creek.”

He works in finance at Janus Henderson Investors. Originally from Philadelphia, I have lived in Beaver Creek for six years. I currently serve as the Programming and Artist Relations Manager at the Vilar Performing Arts Center- the local music venue in Beaver Creek. Our love story is accentuated by the passions we share. Many of our most treasured moments together have been experienced at concerts, journeying across continents, and enjoying an array of delicious cuisines. Equally, we find profound happiness in the simple pleasures of preparing meals together and settling down to enjoy a show at home. Despite our contrasting personalities, we continuously strive to bring out the best in each other and be open to new experiences.”

Favorite memories from the wedding day or wedding weekend: “My favorite memory from the weekend was having all our friends and family in one place, which is so special to us. In 2017, I moved to Beaver Creek and have called the Vail Valley my home ever since. Over the past couple of years, Harrison and I have created many new memories here, from enjoying fall trips with his family and dog Luna to helping his brother Wesley propose to his now-wife Megan by the creek in the Village. An Intimate Italian Wedding at Villa Cimbrone Where Ceremony and Dinner Told Two Different Stories

For the welcome event, the couple wants to have an Italian vibe but with different colors, so we drove them to have a white and yellow color palette. For the wedding day, they also had a very clear idea in mind about the style of their wedding. They wanted a sophisticated and elegant look. Full white for the wedding ceremony, Dirty white, taupe, and a touch of light pink for the table.

Intimate, Understated, Luxury, Magical. Those are the 4 words the couple shared to explain to us their vision! According to the different areas and moments of the day, we manage to create a unique atmosphere and suggest having a slightly different palette for the two main moments of the wedding day: Ceremony and Dinner. As the wedding ceremony took place at the Tea Garden of Villa Cimbrone, we suggest having a full white flower decor with a touch of greenery to enhance the beauty of the garden around; for the reception dinner instead, we envisioned a softer, thus modern and romantic vibe. We love to create contrast, especially when you have a dinner under the arcade of the crypt of Villa Cimbrone. To create this vision, we chose modern chairs along an imperial table with beautiful flowers and lots of candles around.

How they started dating, Tania and her friend Esther went to a new restaurant that opened in the city for dinner. Esther knew the owner of the restaurant, and he was there. Esther introduced him to Tania, and his name was Vince. Tania was currently in a relationship at the time. Eblii, ffcjy exchanged numbers because they were both small business owners in the city, and Tania was interested in doing a photoshoot in the restaurant. We started chatting, and eventually, one day, we started dating. The Proposal story. In 2021, after 3 years together, Vince told me that he would propose that year, so on Dec 31, I woke up and said… are you proposing today!? We entered 2022, and we went on a trip to Hawaii. On the trip, I joked, Are you planning to propose here? And he said Now, that would be so cliche. During the trip, he planned a beautiful helicopter tour of the island. When we finished, we were going to get the famous garlic shrimp. I fell asleep in the car on the way there. When I woke up from my nap, I asked… why are we driving so fast? Where’s the shrimp place?? And he said we’re not going because we’re late. He wanted to watch the sunset at a beach. When we arrived, I was taking our stuff out of the trunk when he said we’re at the wrong beach!! And we’re late!! In a rush, he ran to the back of the car and closed the trunk on my head 🙃. We drove off to the right beach. When we got there, the sun was starting to set. I followed him running from the parking lot to the beach… and that’s when we noticed the sun was setting far away on the right of the beach, and the sand was full of sticks sticking out everywhere. He told us we had to walk towards the sunset, which looked like miles away. At this point, I was so grumpy. Eventually, I asked if we could stop, and he said Sure, we can sit here. I settled down and took my phone out to take a selfie, when a stranger walked by and asked, Would you like me to take a photo of you both? I said sure and handed him my phone. He took it….. and started to put it in his pocket – and I became on high alert… when he whipped out his camera and I looked at Vince confused, down on one knee. And I said YES! 🙂

As the groom is a restaurateur/owner of a Michelin Bib Gourmand in Vancouver, the food and wine were a very important aspect to them for the event. For the welcome dinner, the food has been prepared by Gerardo, the chef of Trattoria da Lorenzo, which has, for the second year, the mentioned in the Michelin guide. During the cocktail hour, we added two live experiences as the Mozzarella making and the pasta show. For the served dinner, they had the typical scialatielli past with lagonstine, as the sea bass was salted and cooked to finish with a delicious tiramisù! For the wedding day, as you know, the dinner has been prepared by Villa Cimbrone, which has a 1-star Michelin restaurant. They had two pasta dishes and allowed their guests to choose between meat and fish for the main. The wedding cake was a millefoglie cake

For the ceremony, we had a classic violin and a harp. For the cocktail at the infinity terrace and dinner, we hire the Three of a Kind, a super fun roaming band

We had a few surprises to arrange. In fact, for the welcome dinner, the groom didn’t know that his groomsman was able to attend the wedding, and together with the bride, we managed to arrange this amazing surprise for the groom! The groom surprised the bride with the sparklers during their first dance!

The bride prepared customized favors for each guests. As she own a jewelry company, Tania design a special wedding collection and she gave to each female guests a piece of jewelry! For male guests instead, she customized with the shape of each male guests face on a cork opener.

As a photo booth, we create a small sofa corner at the crypt, decorate it with flowers and candles. It was a small, intimate wedding with 40 guests. The couple wanted something magical, romantic, intimate, and adventurous, and wanted their wedding to be a moment that they would forever cherish. It was very special and rare for them to travel with their closest family and friends to a beautiful destination. And as they deeply appreciate their guests wanted to give a beautiful and memorable experience.

A Coastal Chic Wedding at the American Yacht Club Honoring a New England Summer Love Story

Standing at the water’s edge with a flagpole as their altar, Nicholas and Jackson’s ceremony and wedding day epitomized nautical coastal chic. They hosted a classic New England summertime wedding adorned with touches of rattan, blue patterned linens, decorative sailboat flags, and hydrangeas. Nick grew up spending summers at the American Yacht Club of New York, where Jackson first got to know Nick’s family during their many summer trips aboard the family sailboat. It felt symbolic for the couple to celebrate their wedding in New York, where their love story began.

Jackson and Nick’s story is a modern dating app connection. After matching, they decided on the iconic Guggenheim Museum in New York City as their first date, and their fates were set. ForNicholas’s 30th birthday, the couple took a trip to Europe, where Jackson proposed. While in a rowboat at Retiro Park in Madrid, Jackson presented Nicholas with a Rolex watch while popping the question. The surrounding greenery and romantic waters created a once-in-a-lifetime engagement moment to cherish. Eager to return to Europe, their honeymoon was equally magical, as they spent hours lounging on the sands of Mallorca and snorkeling among the vibrant marine life.

Dinner was held al fresco in the sunken garden, with toasts unfolding slowly as the sun dipped below the horizon and the moon took its place overhead. Guests sipped on Châteauneuf-du-Pape, a special red wine the couple discovered and fell in love with during a trip to Provence the summer prior—bottles they brought home specifically for the wedding. As night fell, guests were welcomed beneath a glowing sailcloth tent for dancing and dessert, capping off an evening that was as heartfelt and intentional as it was delicious.

Two oversized wicker baskets at the base spilled over with late-summer limelight hydrangea in faded blush and green tones, grounding the moment in seasonal beauty.

The reception, held al fresco in the sunken garden, continued the story of refined simplicity. Farmhouse tables were styled with curated clusters of bud vases, each holding a mix of Queen Anne’s lace, dahlias, scabiosa, and hydrangea. These petite arrangements were paired with etched glass hurricane lanterns and glowing pillar candles, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. On the round tables, crisp white linens framed statement hurricanes and delicate votive clusters, maintaining a cohesive yet elevated look.

Every detail felt considered—from the scalloped napkins with eyelet embroidery, to fluted glassware and rattan table numbers. The wedding reception featured tray-passed appetizers including charred beef tenderloin crostini, California goat cheese crostini, togarashi seared ahi tuna, petite crab cakes, and petite croque monsieur. The signature cocktails were a blood orange margarita and an Old Fashioned (and of course, Guinness Beer on tap). Dinner offered a three-course plated meal with options such as braised beef short ribs or cedar plank salmon. A late-night taco bar and espresso martinis were also provided.

The wedding featured lush greenery throughout, including an oversized arch at the church entrance and greenery cascading from chandeliers in the reception. The reception also included large tree centerpieces with florals growing up their branches and a sweetheart table with a draped fireplace backdrop. Another special detail was the cocktail hour, which blended coastal views with Irish charm. It featured toile motifs, dark green velvet lounges, and Guinness on tap, creating a sophisticated yet comfortable atmosphere for guests. The cocktail hour featured a traditional Celtic folk band. This Irish Trio consisted of a Mandolin, Guitar, Fiddle, and Percussion. Their performance incorporated a mixture of traditional Irish songs, adding to the Irish-inspired ambiance of the event.

These green bags were lined with black and white toile patterned tissue paper, echoing the wedding’s design aesthetic. Inside, guests found delightful treats such as fresh tangerines from the local farmers market presented in little baskets, mini Chandon bottles, Santa Barbara Popcorn, truffles by Jessica Foster Confections, and a welcome letter outlining the weekend’s itinerary.[/field]

Matthew and I met in Tampa, Florida—my hometown and where my family still lives—so it’s always held a special place in my heart. At the time, we were living in New York City together, and he booked us a trip back to Tampa for a long weekend under the sweet (and very convincing) guise of attending my little sister’s scholarship award ceremony. It also happened to be our dating anniversary, so I didn’t think too much of the timing—just excited to celebrate with family and support my sister. The day of the “ceremony,” Matthew rushed me out of the house so we wouldn’t be late, and I barely had time to get ready. (Had I known what was about to happen, I might have done my hair and picked a different outfit!) On the way there, he suggested we stop at Oystercatchers, a beautiful waterfront restaurant, for a quick celebratory drink. We took our cocktails out to the dock to watch the sunset, and I remember feeling so peaceful—it was just the two of us, with the warm Florida breeze and the sky glowing in the most beautiful shades of gold and pink. Matthew was acting a little fidgety, and before I knew it, he was down on one knee, asking me to marry him. I was in complete shock. I barely had time to process what was happening before our photographer—Ledia, who had been hiding in the bushes!—popped out to capture the moment. (She later ended up flying to Cabo to photograph our wedding, which made it all the more special.) I said yes, of course, though I was still so shocked I asked him if we were still going to my sister’s award ceremony. He just smiled and said yes. We took a few more photos together and then headed back up to the restaurant, where I thought we’d grab a car and head to the ceremony. But when I opened the doors, I was completely overwhelmed to see both of our families and closest friends there, waiting to surprise me. Matthew had flown people in from all over—Boston, Austin, Miami, Jacksonville, Charlotte, and NYC—to celebrate with us. As it turns out, the “award ceremony” was all a ruse. Instead, we had a private dinner on the dock surrounded by our loved ones, with candlelight, laughter, and so much joy. It was the most magical night—and the perfect beginning to our forever.

Dinner began with a vibrant Guava Salad, a refreshing medley of crisp greens, ripe guava, and delicate citrus notes — a bright and unexpected start that set the tone for the evening.

For the main course, guests savored a perfectly seared Black Angus Beef Tenderloin, tender and rich, served alongside seasonal accompaniments that celebrated local flavors.

To conclude the evening, a decadent Tres Leches Cake offered a sweet finale. Its airy sponge soaked in a trio of milks created a melt-in-your-mouth experience, leaving guests lingering at their tables for just one more bite.

This unforgettable menu was a true celebration of flavor, elevating the couple’s special day with culinary elegance.

The aisle is lined with white rose petals, creating a soft, luxurious pathway. Candles in clear glass holders, placed on wooden blocks, added warmth and intimacy to their beautiful ceremony space. Their reception table design was filled with lush, white floral arrangements running down the center, composed of roses, hydrangeas, and other delicate blooms. The soft, sheer fabric cascades along the table, blending seamlessly with the florals for an airy, romantic look.

The delicate florals added a sense of ethereal beauty, perfectly complementing the serene coastal setting. Tall glass cylinders with flickering candles framed the aisle, enhancing the dreamy, romantic ambiance. With the sun glistening on the water and the soft ocean breeze carrying their words, the scene felt like a page out of a fairytale—a moment of pure magic!

How to Create an Unconventional Wedding Look

Not every bride is a white dress, church ceremony, ballroom reception kind of bride. Nope. In fact, these days, most aren’t. Having planned more then 800 weddings, Floral & Event Designer Nancy Liu Chin knows a thing or two about what’s trending and what’s not. And the Unconventional Couple? They are officially a thing. So – together with crazy talented planner and designer, Christina Nichols of Parker Nichols Events – the pair is breaking down the components needed to truly design an aesthetically gorgeous though unconventional affair – from color selection to gown choice, any everything in between. Renowned Photographer Kevin Chin (who also happens to be Nancy’s hubs!) is behind all of this gorgeous imagery.

BE BRAVE WITH ATTIRE

As brides want to personalize their wedding, one way to do it is to stand out and wear something unexpected. The trendsetting brides often opt away from just the traditional white gown and put their own spin on what to wear down the aisle. Whether it’s donning a different colored gown like a blush, a mauve, or even a darker hue like a black (oh so Sarah Jessica Parker), this is surely one way to be a little unconventional.

SWAP OUT TRADITIONAL SEASONALLY BASED COLOR PALETTES

There is nothing like a pastel spring wedding. Or bright summer affair. But isn’t it time to mix it up? Why not have pastels in the late summer or fall? One way to do it is to ground the lighter hue with a deeper and moodier hue. Adding darker hues bring a little glam as well as a little richness. Look at the possibilities of the black chairs with the pastel flowers. Such contrast is so pleasing and makes a normal spring palette, now ready for Fall.

CREATE AN OLD MEETS NEW MASH-UP

Is there a way to incorporate Vintage and make it Modern? There is when it’s done in such a way in which something that looks old can still be meaningful for today. Christina paired a black console table from Found Vintage Rentals with a modern, straightforward tiered cake done so elegantly by A Spoonful of Sugar Cakes. The simplicity of the modern handmade flowers is so unconventional clean that it makes the vintage aspect fresh and new. The juxtaposition of these two items makes for a refreshing detail.

Same goes for invitations. Modern shapes like a rectangular and long invitation paired with a clean font that is enriched with a Chinoiserie pattern (hand painted by Elsa Madeline) makes for a new twist on something old.

Natural, classic, but an oval floral bouquet by Nancy Liu Chin Designs is styled with a structured, deep ebony gown and a model who has simple makeup and natural flowing hair is an update. In the past, a formal gown would mean an updo but with natural flowers and a high fashion gown, you don’t need to make the makeup or hair too stuffy. From head to toe, this look is crisp and clean.

Lastly, we love embracing the old but making it new again. For example, old-fashioned drinks have been the rage in lounges and bars for quite a while. Why not pick one that works for you? An 80’s favorite appetizer like a Beggar’s purses found a new modern styling with Betty Zlatchin Catering. We served our vintage cocktail of choice, the French 75, in champagne coupes (see the recipe by Betty Zlatchin below). Poetry is another option! One of Christina’s favorite elements from this inspired shoot was to bring in a quote from the poem that inspired it all, She Walks in Beauty by Lord Byron. The use of poetry, a wonderful quote that ties in the design, the mood, and really sets the tone of what the whole event is going to be about.

Whatever you embrace, whatever is personal, whatever unconventional thing that you add that will make your wedding a little more special, just remember to make it about the two of you.

A Whimsical Bridgerton Inspired Wedding Bursting With Color and Playful Elegance

Amanda and Jordan’s wedding was a vibrant, whimsical, Briderton-inspired celebration that beautifully brought their vision of a summer garden party to life with a touch of playful elegance. At the reception, bold tablescapes came to life with specialty tableware, colored taper candles, and paper goods designed by the bride herself, all thoughtfully color-blocked in pink, blue, yellow, and green. Four tablescape colors wowed their guests as they entered the sailcloth reception tent. The reception was a mixed vibe of partying the night away inside the twinkle-lit barn, and warming up by the al fresco fire on a crisp summer’s night.

We met when I (Amanda) moved to Cincinnati for an internship during my junior year of college. Coming from Atlanta, I didn’t know anyone in town and decided to use Bumble to meet people and make plans to see the city. Jordan had graduated from the University of Cincinnati a couple of years prior and was working, but was also looking for someone to explore more of the city with. Our first date started with getting Italian food, followed by a drive around the city, and ending at a local brewery. At the end of my internship, I went back to school, and we agreed to do long distance. After over a year of traveling back and forth, I ended up getting a dream job offer in San Francisco, and we moved cross-country together. We’ve lived in the Bay Area with our cat Henry since 2019, but it wasn’t until 2022 that Jordan orchestrated a surprise proposal with both of our families in town. Jordan took us to the San Jose Rose Garden, and surrounded by beautiful flowers, he asked me to marry him. Of course, I said yes, and we went back to our home where the family was waiting for an impromptu engagement party.

Our bride, Amand, settled on a wildflower look that wasn’t super manicured with a whimsical overgrown look. The floral design struck the perfect balance between tailored and organic, with arrangements lining the ceremony aisle, framing the lily pond backdrop in a way that felt both intentional and natural. The color palette of purples, pinks, corals, and greenery allowed for the venue’s natural beauty to shine through, while also giving the feeling of an elegant garden party.

Amanda and Jordan included a unity blessing during their ceremony, which involved placing their hands over each other, followed by a 44-generation-old handkerchief from Amanda’s family weddings. This celebration honored their ancestors who came before them, who laid the foundation for their lives and each moment of their story to be exactly as it is today. Their ritual script was beautifully written as follows: “Think of all the ancestors who have lived and loved, stretching back into antiquity. All ultimately giving rise to you. Think of all the happenstance–or destiny–that led you to bumble into each other. Think of all the lovers who have stood right where you’ve stood on their wedding day. And of those in love seated amongst your guests who have made and upheld their marriage vows. In this moment, I hope you feel the connection to each other, to your families and friends, to the human experience, and to this amazing world. I hope you stand in awe of the conspiring events that have brought you together, doing something altogether ordinary, and yet unique because it is shared between the two of you. There has never been and never will be another Jordan, the cutest boy Amanda knows; confident yet silly, sweet, joyful, curious, trustworthy, and loyal. There has never been and never will be another Amanda: beautiful, confident, strong, selfless, resilient, and determined, while also being goofy and weird. And together, you will share an experience of life that has never been. You will write a story that has never been told. And that story will be added to the story of this handkerchief.

A Bold and Beautifully Symbolic Wedding Inspired by Renaissance Art and Modern Love

Our main color palette was inspired by William Kilburn’s textile. The florals are light blue and light pink, with some white and yellow, over a dark background. We were quite flexible with the palette as long as the concept of “sin” came through. In some cases, that meant light colors over a dark background. In other cases, we went with a more luxurious burgundy and gold combination.

The villa was first built in the 1200s. It is filled with furniture and art from the 1600s-1700s, and is covered in Renaissance-style frescos, the kind that often depict religious themes. But we are not religious, and our taste in fashion and general aesthetic is extremely modern. Eventually, we landed on the idea of “sin”. That one word connects religious themes with what it’s like to be a gay couple getting married in Italy. We explored different directions in which we could take the word, like abstract concepts like transgression, and related religious ideas like the “original sin”. The “original sin” – Eve’s bite of the apple – led us to the Garden of Eden, which became the inspiration for our fashion choices and our graphic design. We were especially inspired by a textile design by William Kilburn, a British illustrator from the 1700s. It is floral and pretty, but it has something dark and sinister about it. From there, we arrived at the seven deadly sins. Each sin would label a separate area or activity on the wedding day. “Gluttony” for the dinner, “sloth” for the lounge area, “pride” for the ceremony, “envy” for the photo booth, “lust” for the dance floor, etc…. We chose a Renaissance painting to illustrate each theme and further connect the theme to the venue.

From Stefano: I always knew James wanted to propose. I also knew the proposal had to be special, and I would often catch James watching proposal videos on YouTube. My biggest challenge was that James is a planner. An extremely talented one. If planning were in the Olympics, James would have multiple gold medals. He plans our weekends and our vacations to the minute. And he plans months – sometimes years. I couldn’t plan a walk to the neighborhood coffee shop without consulting with him for an opening in our schedule. A surprise proposal was out of the question. His 30th birthday provided me with an opportunity! As a treat to himself, he tasked me with planning his 30th birthday. He wanted to be “whisked away”. I knew this would be my only chance. I decided on a retreat in Bali where I would propose on the night of his 30th birthday. We flew to Indonesia with the ring hidden in my luggage. I wanted to propose over a private dinner, but unfortunately, all meals were communal. The incredibly accommodating staff planned a dinner on our terrace, which was, thankfully, very private and secluded. They lit candles and spread rose petals on the dining table. I did a lot of research for inspiration in creating just the right speech. My favorite was from Chandler to Monica on Friends. The speech turned into more of a dialogue because I don’t think James understood what was coming until I said, “for the rest of my life”. When he said, “Yes,” it sounded more like “Duh”. From James: I was completely caught off guard by the whole proposal. I had no idea that he’d been planning this for the 6 months leading up to this trip, consulting with some of our closest friends who also didn’t leak the surprise! I remember in that moment, interrupting him, as if we were having a conversation over dinner for my birthday, reminiscing about our relationship. I had no idea it was all part of his speech! In retrospect, I’m so glad I had no idea, because it made the moment so much more memorable for us. I don’t remember a lot of it because I blacked out after that, but I’ll always remember the feeling of finally realizing what was going on and being completely impressed with his execution. It was perfect. Nothing I would have ever imagined, which is always the best way to surprise someone.

James: Stefano and I have always bonded over our love of fashion. I studied fashion design in college, and one of my earliest influences was Alexander McQueen. When I saw these deconstructed suits from Alexander McQueen by Sarah Burton, I immediately knew they were the ones! I loved the way the floral print continued from the suit to the shirt, and it worked out perfectly that they had complementary versions, the ivory and the black. For the evening, we knew we wanted something a little more “glitzy”. We found these gorgeous silver and gold jacquard suits from Dolce & Gabbana. We loved how completely different they felt from our wedding suits, but still had that indulgent, extravagant vibe, with floral elements. The stars of our evening wear, though, were our shoes! Those Giuseppe Zanotti crystal-embellished loafers were all everyone wanted photos of. They were perfect outfits to end the night on, as they had a little bit of stretch to get through the dancing and party. Stefano: When we had our first fitting at the McQueen boutique in New York, we noticed that the staff started whispering to each other, and more and more of them started gathering, until the small crowd spontaneously burst into applause. That’s when it hit me: we had something special with those two matching suits. Like James said, the crystal-studded silver and gold Giuseppe Zanotti loafers were the highlight of the evening. They were also the last thing we found! James wanted to wear heels… so, believe it or not, I had to convince him to settle for these. While everyone loved to take pictures of them, photos don’t do them justice, unfortunately. They looked much more sparkly in real life!

Stefano: We decided early on that food would be our top priority. We are lovers of fine dining, which typically consists of tasting menus full of creative and unusual small bites. We wanted to share that type of experience with our guests. We would showcase the best ingredients and dishes Italy has to offer, and true to our theme, they’d be presented in their most “sinful”, indulgent, gluttonous preparation, and we needed a great chef to bring our vision to life. We’d previously had a memorable meal at the 3-Michelin-star restaurant Le Calandre, not far from our wedding venue. We found out that its parent company, Alajmo, also does catering for private events! The chef had interpreted our vision perfectly. All the traditional elements were there: parmigiano, ragù, carbonara, pesto, arancini, lardo, truffles, prosciutto, risotto, tiramisù, cannoli, etc. We chose 5 snacks for the aperitif, and 9 dishes for dinner, with a mix of textures, flavors, and regions to showcase. The one dish that I kept for sentimental reasons was the Tuscan crostini with chicken liver paté. It is from my hometown, and it was my favorite dish my mom would make while I was growing up. We offered the Alajmo Spritz as our signature cocktail for the Aperitif, with a flower for garnish, something we picked up at one of our favorite restaurants in San Francisco. To accompany the cocktail, we had a selection of small bites: Crispy polenta sandwich with creamed salt cod (Veneto), Quail egg with bottarga (Sardegna), Fried olive in the style of Ascoli (Marche,) Crispy black rice basket with raw seafood and lobster cream (Venet,o) Crispy Parmesan Chip with Mushroom Powder (Emilia)

We imagined high-contrast flowers intertwined with dark green vines, weeds, and branches. We wanted “sinful” flowers – flowers that are unusual-looking, with thorns, or long, wild weeds, and branches, when put together, create a little bit of tension in their color and aesthetic combinations. We wanted to stay away from anything too cute or pretty or delicate. However, we also wanted to stay away from luscious, dark, velvety violets/purples/reds (too old-fashioned, predictable). Instead of a dark color scheme, we were looking for lighter colos, with dark undertones. Inviting, but also enchanting, mysterious, unusual, even ugly. A very fine, tricky balance!

James: We didn’t have a cake or anything that resembled a cake. I ate cakes at weddings, they are never *that* good, or worth the calories. Instead, we went with a selection of three chocolate bites, a nod to Stefano’s chocolate sweet tooth. And to keep the night going, we also offered a chocolate ball filled with an espresso shot inside, that exploded into your mouth when you bit into it. A one-bite kind of dessert! Guests had fun with this! Stefano: The chocolate ball was inspired by “Pocket Coffee”, a chocolate candy filled with liquid coffee that’s quite popular in Italy. I’m proud to say it was our idea. I’m glad that, even though we worked with an award-winning catering company, James and I were still able to contribute a few great ideas!

Stefano: I wrote the script for the ceremony myself. I kept it quite straightforward – just enough to make the moment feel significant. Choosing the song for the ceremony was difficult. Inspired by “Crazy Rich Asians”, we agreed we wanted a cover of a beautiful love song, performed live by our singer, Josmil. But there are precious few love songs that we both have a sentimental connection to. I wanted “In My Life” by the Beatles. James wanted “Make Me Feel My Love” – which I thought was too sad – or “I Can’t Help Falling in Love” – which I thought would be too blatant a reference to “Crazy Rich Asians”. At one point, we were so desperate that we considered “I See The Light” from the Disney movie “Tangled”, because it’s the only love song we both knew that had a bright, optimistic, sweet feel to it. Eventually, we settled on “Perfect” by Ed Sheeran. A safe choice, but it worked out great. There wasn’t a dry eye in the garden as we walked down the aisle.

  Stefano: I have a background in graphic design, so I designed the original save-the-date website, and briefly considered doing the print design myself. However, the theme was heavily based on floral illustrations, which would have been way beyond my comfort zone. Plus, I haven’t worked with printers in decades. So we set out to find a designer whose portfolio would match what we had in mind. That’s how we found Jill Ryder of Shindig Bespoke, who immediately understood the vision. We gave her a lot of direction initially – moodboards, mind maps, color palettes, etc. – but instead of feeling stifled, she was inspired by it. She designed a beautiful custom illustration for us, and also made us a custom monogram based on the S of Stefano wrapping like a snake around the J for James. Jill came up with the idea of a fabric-bound booklet for the invitations. The elements she created formed the basis for everything else. She designed a welcome booklet for all our guests. Inspired by an Italian passport, we picked a burgundy cover with a gold monogram. I also quickly made a wedding website based on her work. It took me less than a day!

Stefano: My favorite moment was our entrance for dinner after we changed into our second outfit. Our guests stood up for us and applauded. It felt genuine and heartfelt. The setting looked beautiful, and so did our guests. I’ve always dreamed of having a Beyoncé moment, and that felt like one. :)

For the welcome basket that was waiting in each of the guestrooms was some local snacks and water for in between meals, plug-in insect repellent for sleeping soundly, and a custom welcome booklet that we worked with Jill from Shindig Bespoke on that had the wedding schedule and local information of the town to serve as a guide. One last thing we sent guests home with was more personal. Stefano’s family owns and runs their private olive oil farm, not for sale, just for family consumption. Every time we visit, they always send us home with bottles full of this silky, delicious oil. So we asked if they could bottle some for our guests, and they were happy to. We created custom labels for them and included them at the dinner table in case guests wanted to try them on the spot. Most stashed them in their bags to take home as a memory of the trip to enjoy later.

A Joyful Garden to Manor Wedding From Linfield House to Mount Juliet Estate in the Irish Countryside

The couple didn’t have a formal theme, but they knew they wanted the day to feel pretty, personal, and fun. Celebrating at home was the most important element, so the ceremony and cocktail hour took place on the front lawn of the bride’s family home, Linfield House. Their planner, Tara Fay, helped create a relaxed garden atmosphere full of pastel florals and elegant touches. Afterwards, guests moved on to the reception at nearby Mount Juliet Estate, a historic manor house in the Irish countryside with sweeping views of the River Nore. The day was effortlessly beautiful and joyful, with so many meaningful and thoughtful details.

The couple chose to have a fully vegetarian wedding. The menu featured Mediterranean-inspired dishes such as cherry vine tomato and red pepper soup, ravioli with tender stem broccoli, and beetroot with whipped goat cheese. “I was so happy that the wedding was completely vegetarian,” says the bride. “It was something I was worried about, but the food ended up being one of the most talked about topics with our guests. Everyone loved it!”

[field title=”Florals & Decor”]The florals were a standout feature and the bride’s personal favorite detail. There were flowers at every turn, from a floral-decked staircase and arches at the bride’s home, to the abundant arrangements featured throughout the reception space. The bride walked down an aisle bursting with pastel blooms, as if she was stepping through a meadow of wildflowers towards her groom. Even the stationery featured floral details, tying the whole look together. Designed in soft tones with occasional pops of coral and cerulean, the arrangements brought color and romance to every part of the celebration.[/field]

The cake was a three-tiered design by Cake Cuppery, decorated with wildflowers, gold leaf, fresh and dried fruit. It was displayed on a table surrounded by lush florals, blending beautifully with the rest of the day’s floral-forward decor.

[field title=”Special Detail #1″]The ceremony took place in a clear marquee on the bride’s family property, followed by cocktails on the lawn served from a mobile bar in a restored vintage horsebox. The couple then made a quick getaway in a vintage MG to Mount Juliet Estate for the reception. “The decision that I was most happy with was having the ceremony at home,” says Katie Mai. “That was one of my favorite parts of the day.”[/field]

The escort card display was garden-inspired, using vintage pots, with each card placed like a plant marker. This creative and whimsical design element set the scene for the botanical beauty of the reception.

Rebecca and Zach’s story began as a friendship in college, but it wasn’t long before their connection deepened into something much more. After three years of long-distance—Rebecca in San Francisco and Zach in Los Angeles—she made the bold decision to move to LA. A year later, their lives took a beautiful turn as they moved in together, adopted a dog, and quickly discovered a shared life full of laughter, adventure, and joy. In August 2023, while attending a close friend’s wedding in Copenhagen, Zach knew it was time to take their relationship to the next level. Their journey continued in Iceland, where Zach had one last surprise in store. After landing, he led Rebecca to a secluded waterfall he had carefully researched. At a breathtaking viewpoint, he proposed, with the stunning scenery enhancing the significance of the moment. Though still feeling the effects of travel, Rebecca was overwhelmed with happiness as the surprise unfolded. To celebrate their engagement, the couple enjoyed an intimate dinner before retreating to a set of luxurious all-glass domes, each with its private hot tub. Their days in Iceland were filled with awe as they explored a landscape that felt almost otherworldly—chasing waterfalls, soaking in hot springs, and hiking through dramatic volcanoes and scenic trails. Every moment seemed more magical than the last, leaving them with memories that marked the start of an exciting new chapter in their incredible journey together.
