A Cultural and Romantic Fusion Among the Vineyards of Napa Valley

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]

The wedding palette was a romantic blend of soft pinks, muted purples, fresh greens, and classic whites. These tones came together to create an elegant yet whimsical atmosphere that perfectly reflected the couple’s vision.

[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

The design of Ayana and James’ wedding was a stunning fusion of elegance, cultural celebration, and personalized detail. Set against the rolling vineyards of Napa Valley, the ceremony embraced the natural beauty of the location. Guests were greeted by panoramic views and an aisle lined with vibrant, garden-style florals in shades of pink, purple, green, and white. The soft afternoon light enhanced the romantic aesthetic, making the vow exchange feel intimate and ethereal. To reflect their heritage and surprise their guests, the couple incorporated a dynamic Lion Dance performance immediately following the ceremony. This moment not only energized the celebration but also served as a joyful escort to the dinner reception, infusing tradition with a modern, unexpected twist. Personal touches were woven throughout the design, including a nod to the couple’s love for skiing. The seating chart featured custom gondola-shaped beer openers, thoughtfully designed by Shimmer + Stain. These creative favors were both meaningful and functional, adding a playful yet curated element to the overall aesthetic. The reception was nothing short of magical. Cascading floral installations brought drama and movement to the space, particularly at the bar, where blooms poured down in a luxurious display. Ayana captivated guests with three outfit changes, each more glamorous than the last, while James took the stage for a surprise musical performance that left a lasting impression. Under a canopy of lights and flowers, guests celebrated with joy, dancing late into the night in a space that was designed to feel as lively, loving, and unforgettable as the couple themselves.

Ayana and James were on a ski trip in the Swiss Alps. On the first night, during a romantic dinner at a restaurant overlooking the ski village, James proposed.

The wedding menu was a true celebration of Napa’s culinary spirit, fresh, seasonal, and utterly delicious. Every dish was thoughtfully crafted to reflect the region’s farm-to-table philosophy, featuring locally sourced ingredients that highlighted vibrant flavors and elegant presentation. From the light and flavorful appetizers to the beautifully plated entrées, each bite was a reflection of the couple’s love for good food and great wine. Guests raved about the meal all evening, noting how perfectly it complemented the setting and elevated the overall experience. It was a dining experience that felt both refined and heartfelt, exactly what you’d hope for in a Napa Valley celebration.

[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]

The florals and décor at this Napa Valley wedding were nothing short of enchanting, thoughtfully designed to complement the natural surroundings while infusing the celebration with elegance and charm. The floral arrangements showcased a lush, garden-inspired aesthetic with a romantic palette of soft pinks, blush, lavender, ivory, and fresh green. Each table featured full, airy centerpieces composed of seasonal blooms like roses, sweet peas, lisianthus, and delphinium, artfully arranged to feel organic yet refined. The variety in floral height and texture added depth and movement, with tall arrangements drawing the eye upward and lower pieces creating intimate beauty at guest tables. Tables were styled with flowing, sheer runners in a soft ivory tone, delicately draped to create a light and ethereal effect. Neutral taper candles in minimal ceramic holders added warmth and sophistication, casting a gentle glow as the sun dipped lower in the sky. The seating was an elegant mix of round and wooden farmhouse-style tables, surrounded by natural wood and upholstered chairs in soft linen tones, striking a perfect balance between classic and rustic refinement. Overhead, crystal chandeliers hung from arched stands wrapped in greenery, adding a touch of glamor and romance to the open-air setting. Together, the floral and décor elements created a cohesive look that was dreamy, fresh, and deeply personal, perfectly suited for a heartfelt celebration in the heart of wine country.

[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]

This wedding cake was a true showstopper. Elegant, romantic, and perfectly in tune with the overall aesthetic of the day. The four-tiered design is classic in structure but whimsical in its detail. Each tier is covered in smooth, white fondant, serving as a clean canvas for the intricate floral embellishments that cascade down the entire cake. The hand-piped buttercream florals are delicate and dimensional, featuring a mix of soft pinks, muted purples, blush tones, gentle blues, and hints of leafy green. These pastel blooms create a painterly, garden-inspired look that feels fresh and feminine without being overly sweet. The varied flower shapes and lifelike petals add texture and depth, giving the illusion that the flowers are gently blooming right off the cake. The cake is displayed on a light blue and white patterned linen, placed atop an elegant round stand with gold-toned legs, adding just the right amount of sophistication to the presentation. In the background, you can see soft, neutral-toned chairs, crystal chandeliers hanging from trees, and blurred floral arrangements, all of which create a magical garden-party ambiance that complements the cake’s design beautifully. Altogether, the cake not only served as a delicious dessert but also as a central design element that tied together the couple’s romantic, floral-forward vision.

How they met: The night before the first day of their grad school, James was at a pre-game party (with only dudes+alcohol). Ayana arrived at the same pre-game with a bag of Cheetos and a box of Oreos (only gal+snacks). They mingled amongst the new friends, and soon it was time for everyone to migrate to the main party. They kept losing each other in the crowd, but every time they found each other, James was snacking on the Cheetos that Ayana brought. Ayana caught on that something was up with this dude.

Layered Neutrals and Sculptural Florals Set the Scene for This Los Cabos Wedding

A soft, muted sunset palette guided the design—blush, warm peach, sandy neutrals, and tonal whites were layered throughout the florals, linens, and paper goods.

The couple envisioned an intimate, effortless beach celebration grounded in natural textures and timeless design. Their wedding embraced the organic elements of Los Cabos: sand underfoot, an ocean breeze, and candlelight glowing through sunset. The aesthetic reflected understated elegance, blending minimalism with warm romance, highlighted through layered neutrals, sculptural florals, and thoughtful personalization.

The first dance was to Bonnie Raitt’s “Thank You,” followed by Neil Young’s “Long May You Run” for the father-daughter dance, and Van Morrison’s “Tupelo Honey” for the mother-son dance.

A Seaside Celebration With Tennis, Tequila, and Timeless Romance at the Ritz-Carlton Bacara

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]White, green, and blue, with pink bridesmaids![/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

Katrina and Zach’s wedding weekend at the Ritz-Carlton Bacara featured a blend of relaxed elegance and vibrant fun. The welcome party had a beach club-inspired vibe with tropical flair, neutral tones, and pops of green, while the wedding day was a fairytale by the sea with a focus on timeless portraits and a magical reception. The weekend also included a Tennis & Tequila event to kick off the celebrations with friendly competition and a casual atmosphere. Overall, the vision was a luxurious, personalized, and joyous celebration with unique touches like a “shopping experience” for guests and a disco-themed after-party. Fun fact: Katrina and Zach met on September 22, 2015, and got married on September 21st, 2024

[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]

It was in Berkeley that Zach proposed to Katrina. She had already (not so subtly) sent him pictures of rings, but knowing she hated surprises, he let her know that he planned to propose during August or September. So when he told her to “be ready,” she made sure to have her hair and nails done. What followed was the best couple of weeks of her life: they went out to dinners, brunches, concerts, and more. There were a couple of times she was sure he was going to do it, but she never really saw it coming. One morning, he told her they were going to brunch. She got dressed, did her hair, and made sure her nails were done (just in case!). He took her to the Berkeley Botanical Gardens because he “wanted to show her a cool view” (he did this a lot, so it wasn’t a dead giveaway). Then he got down on one knee and proposed. As it turns out, Zach had been planning everything down to the second. While he was proposing, a photographer was hiding and capturing the most perfect photos. Immediately after the proposal, his and her siblings jumped out of the bushes, popped champagne, and congratulated them. Then (the surprises were not over!), they went to brunch, only for her sister to make up some excuse for why they needed to go back to their house. When she arrived back at their house, their entire backyard had been decorated, and their friends (most of whom had flown in) were all waiting there to celebrate with them.

A custom couture Vivienne Westwood gown, designed just for Katrina and inspired by her grandmother’s wedding dress, paired with classic blue Manolo Blahnik flats. She also prepared multiple styled wedding looks throughout the day with help from her stylist, Jacqueline Wlodarczyk, including a Lili Hod gown, with a detachable train that she ripped off during her first dance, and her mother’s Vera Wang wedding dress, which she had shortened for the afterparty. Fun fact: While she was a student at UCLA, Katrina interned for Vivienne Westwood—in the very office where she later worked with the team to design the gown of her dreams. Katrina wore a printed Monique Lhuillier ready-to-wear gown, tailored into a midi dress for the welcome dinner.

[/field]
[field title=”Bridesmaid Dresses”]

Katrina’s maid of honor, her sister Annalise Froelich, wore a pink Alexia María gown, while the rest of the bridesmaids donned floral Show Me Your Mumu dresses in varying shades of pink that beautifully complemented Katrina’s bridal look. Later in the evening, as Katrina changed into her mom’s vintage Vera Wang gown—shortened for the occasion—the bridesmaids slipped into fun, flirty mini dresses from Show Me Your Mumu. It made for quite the entrance at the after-party. For her bridesmaid gifts, Katrina personalized classic L.L. Bean Boat and Tote bags with each bridesmaid’s name embroidered on the front. Inside, she curated a selection of her favorite beauty essentials, including ethically sourced jade rollers from EcoTools, her go-to makeup brushes from Real Techniques, Drunk Elephant’s Glycolic Serum, Saltair’s Pink Beach body wash (her favorite scent), and more thoughtful goodies.

[/field]
[field title=”Groomsman Attire”]

For the Welcome Dinner, Zach styled a Banana Republic suit with a thrifted vintage ’90s Tommy Bahama shirt, finishing the look with handmade huaraches from his favorite local shop in San Diego. Fun fact: as a groomsmen gift, he gave each of his guys a pair of those same handmade huaraches from the store. At the wedding, Zach’s groomsmen all wore classic tuxedos for the black tie theme.

On Friday, the welcome party featured a taco stand with various meats, a guacamole station with unique toppings, and an open bar with signature margaritas, followed by a churro station. On Saturday, the wedding day, a three-course plated dinner was served with choices of beef, sea bass, or ravioli, along with a red velvet wedding cake and specialty cocktails. The after-hours reception included a savory station with items like fries, taquitos, and mac and cheese croquettes.

[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]

The welcome party featured tropical floral arrangements and fruit decor accents with a neutral palette and pops of green, creating a chic beach club vibe. For the wedding ceremony, four large urn arrangements overflowing with white blooms and a lush floral aisle enhanced the oceanfront setting. The reception included soft green patterned linens, lush floral arrangements in varying heights, ceramic chargers, rattan candle hurricanes, and elegant green taper candles, with twinkling lights and textured pendants creating a magical atmosphere.

[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]

The wedding cake was a 3-tier Red Velvet Cake with Vanilla Cream Filling and simple white buttercream frosting, decorated with florals by Tyler Speier Events. It was cut by the bride and groom, and delicious slices were passed.

[/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]

At Katrina and Zach’s wedding ceremony, “Love Comes to Town” by Talking Heads and “BBlink-182First Date” were played instrumentally for the processional and bride’s entrance, respectively, with “This Kiss” by Faith Hill (instrumental) for the recessional. For the reception, songs include “Just like Heaven” by The Cure for the first dance, and “Wouldn’t it be nice” by The Beach Boys for the cake cutting.

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]One special detail from Katrina and Zach’s wedding weekend was the Tennis & Tequila event that kicked off the wedding weekend, providing a fun and interactive way for guests to mingle and build excitement. Katrina and Zach provided custom visors and coolers, adding a personalized touch to the friendly competition and tequila cocktails, making it more than just a typical rehearsal dinner. [/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]

Beyond the “Tennis & Tequila” event, another special detail was the Shopping Experience at their welcome party, where guests could fill tote bags with curated local and custom goodies. This included unique items like custom-designed surf wax featuring the groom’s face—created by Kyron Shochat, a graphic designer and former UCLA surf club member, alongside Zach—and trendy puka shell necklaces, offering a fun, interactive way to share their personalities and celebrate the local spirit. The “shop” was called Ricciardulli Surf Co.—a special nod to the fact that Katrina and Zach met at the UCLA activities fair, where Zach was working the surf booth as the club’s treasurer.

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #3″]A third special detail was the spontaneous ocean dip by Katrina and Zach at the end of their disco-themed after-party. This unplanned moment added a joyful and unique finale to their wedding celebration, perfectly capturing their fun-loving spirit and creating an unforgettable memory for them and their guests.[/field]

A Hawaiian Celebration That Mirrors the Radiance of a Kona Sunset

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]

To be completely honest, I don’t think there was a color we didn’t seek to incorporate! The key colors, though, were purple, pink, red, maroon, yellow, orange, and white.

[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

Our vision and inspiration for the wedding day design was a Kona sunset. If you’ve been to the Big Island of Hawaii, or anywhere in Hawaii, you know the beauty of bright and warm colors at sunset. When the sun is higher in the sky, during the early moments of the sunset, there are vibrant hues of orange, yellow, pink, and blue. So, our ceremony set-up incorporated these colors. Then, in alignment with the actual sunset, cocktail hour and reception colors were warm hues of pinks, reds, and pops of purple and yellow. We were so fortunate on the evening of the wedding to experience a drop-dead Kona sunset. Everything came together perfectly.

We worked closely with the incredible team at Kona Village, with Chef Robert Sulatycky generously guiding us through multiple tastings to ensure every bite was exceptional. Initially, we considered incorporating Filipino cuisine as a tribute to Adam’s heritage, but ultimately, an island-fusion menu felt like the perfect reflection of their celebration. To elevate the guest experience, we opted for interactive action stations, allowing guests to indulge in freshly prepared dishes and engage with the culinary artistry firsthand. It was a feast for the senses, blending bold flavors with a dynamic dining experience. But the true showstopper? The wedding cake. Laura envisioned something fun and funky—something that embodied her and Adam’s vivacious energy. Kona Village’s Pastry Sous Chef, Artemis Baghdanian, exceeded all expectations with a breathtaking guava cream cheese cake, bringing their vision to life in the most delicious way possible.

Designing a wedding at Kona Village was all about striking the perfect balance—how do you elevate a place that’s already insanely gorgeous? We didn’t want to compete with the resort’s natural beauty, so instead, we leaned into it, creating a design that felt like an extension of the landscape but still brought a major wow-factor. Inspired by a Kona sunset, we went all in on warm, fiery hues—think golden yellows, deep oranges, rich reds, and sultry purples. With just 30 guests, we had the chance to go full-on maximalist with florals, and let’s just say… we did not hold back. Every inch of the space was dripping with bloom. The biggest challenge was making sure the design felt intentional, not just “let’s throw a ton of flowers everywhere.” Kona Village has this effortless, open-air elegance, and we wanted everything to feel like it belonged there.

[field title=”Wedding Cake”]This cake was everything! Laura wanted something fun and unexpected, and Kona Village’s Pastry Sous Chef, Artemis Baghdanian, totally delivered—guava cake with cream cheese icing. It was chic, playful, and just the right amount of extra. It wasn’t just a cake; it was a whole moment.

For Laura and Adam, the stars aligned in many ways. Their love story began with the kind of instant connection most people only dream of, and their wedding plans were destined to follow suit. The couple reached out to and shared their dream: to be married under the full supermoon with a partial eclipse in September. Checking the calendar, we realized we had five months to make it happen! As fate would have it, they were staying at Kona Village, a stunning Rosewood property, which had recently reopened its doors after years of restoration following the devastating tsunami. For Laura, this wasn’t just any resort—it was a place woven into the fabric of her childhood, a sanctuary she had spent countless summer vacations. Experiencing the renewed magic of Kona Village with Adam, the couple knew this was where they were meant to say “I do.” Their vision, tied so closely to the rhythms of the universe, the land, and their shared history, made them one of the most remarkable couples I’ve ever had the honor of working with. The volcanic eruption on the morning of their wedding day added a dramatic backdrop, as the island seemed to remind them that they were embracing a moment of cosmic significance. But it wasn’t just the forces of nature at play—Laura and Adam’s wedding was deeply rooted in the Hawaiian culture that they hold dear. The couple thoughtfully incorporated cultural elements into their ceremony and decor, honoring the land and its traditions. For example, the welcome party kicked off with a grounding circle, led by a local Hawaiian elder, symbolizing their connection to each other and the land they were marrying on. Kona Village, with its commitment to eco-tourism and respect for Hawaiian culture, provided the perfect backdrop for a wedding that was both deeply personal and profoundly respectful of the island’s traditions. Laura and Adam’s wedding is a mo’olelo (story) of love, history, cosmic alignment, and cultural reverence. From the setting of Kona Village, steeped in personal significance and renewed beauty, to the rare full supermoon with a partial eclipse, their celebration was as unique as their love story.

[field title=”Special Detail #2″](Describe another memorable detail from your wedding.)
Laura & Adam curated an unforgettable weeklong experience for their guests at Kona Village, immersing them in the beauty and culture of the Big Island. The celebration began with a Pele-inspired welcome party, honoring the island’s rich volcanic heritage. The following day, guests leisurely explored the resort’s breathtaking landscapes before gathering for an intimate oceanside dinner at sunset. On the morning of the wedding, the couple and their loved ones embraced a moment of serenity, taking a refreshing dip in their private pools before the day’s festivities unfolded. Even after the vows were exchanged and the dance floor stilled, the magic continued—guests spent the days that followed adventuring across the island, forging unforgettable memories together.

A Montauk Celebration That Blends Coastal Style With a Love Story Born by the Sea

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]

The essence of a seaside romance with a wedding color palette inspired by the natural beauty of the coast. Coastal blues reflect the tranquil ocean, while white and cream evoke soft seafoam and sandy shores. Sage adds a touch of organic greenery, and soft pink brings a delicate warmth, reminiscent of seashells at sunset. This serene and elegant combination creates a timeless, airy atmosphere perfect for a beachside or coastal-inspired celebration.

[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

Vision: Montauk is where we met and fell in love, so we wanted to share our favorite place with our friends & family. Our vision for our wedding was to showcase the gorgeous landscape by bringing in the natural colors of the sand and sea. We strived for an effortless flow of events and prioritized outdoor venues for our loved ones to fully experience the coastal lifestyle.

[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]

I invited Michelle for a casual stroll through our Dumbo neighborhood, a regular activity for us. There, with the Brooklyn Bridge and Manhattan skyline as our backdrop, I dropped to one knee and asked her to spend forever together. A photographer, discreetly positioned, captured the moment. It was a chilly December night, and right before the holidays, so we celebrated with family over the next few weeks.

Gurneys catered the wedding day, starting with cocktail hour offerings of mini lobster rolls, peekytoe crab cakes, and a seafood bar complete with a giant clamshell ice sculpture full of East Coast oysters. Signature cocktails were Dark N Stormy and a lighter grapefruit fizz. The rehearsal dinner was held at Crow’s Nest, which included mezze platters, organic grilled chicken kebabs, lemon bucatini, and rosé.

[field title=”Florals & Decor”]

Ava Floral was our florist and beautifully designed everything from the floral arch for our ceremony to the hanging installation in the tent and fresh crowns for the flower girls. We chose garden roses, dahlias, ranunculus, and greenery as our main stems.

The wedding cake with Swiss meringue from Sugar Sugar Custom Cakes came in 3 flavors: Lemon mascarpone, chocolate truffle, and pistachio cream.

[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]

Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs: We knew live music would be really important to all parts of our wedding weekend. Kim Sozzi with creations music seamlessly organized all of our performers. We had a string trio during the ceremony, a roaming saxophone during cocktail hour and Park Avenue 9-piece band rocked the reception. Our first dance was to Van Morrison’s Tupelo Honey. Our brother-in-law, Dane Warming, was a fantastic officiant. My best friend Leslie did a reading of 1 Corinthians 13, and my cousin Erika told our guests the story of our vows being exchanged.

[field title=”Special Detail #1″]

The night after the wedding, all of the guests were invited to a Clambake held on the beach. This relaxed night was such a great send-off and a perfect way to spend more time with our guests and soak up the beautiful sunsets. The menu featured clam chowder, steamed lobsters, wood-grilled sirloin, local steamers and Mussels, grilled vegetables, homemade cornbread, butter n’ sugar corn on the cob, and hot peach and blueberry cobbler with vanilla bean ice cream. There were bonfires with s’mores, and Evan Kremin played live music on guitar.

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]

One of our favorite decisions was to include a live painter at our wedding. Amanda Hawthorne from Live Well Paint Often painted a portrait of our ceremony and completed it during the reception. She was fabulous at interacting with guests, extremely talented, provided so much entertainment, and we got to take home the most beautiful keepsake piece.

We had custom name cards made by Beach and Meadow on lacquered oyster shells to add an elegant coastal feeling to the place settings. Our guests loved these as keepsakes!

A Cinematic Bridgerton-Inspired Celebration Amid the Historic Gardens of Park Winters

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”The Inspiration”]

Athena, the planner and designer behind Weddings with Athena, drew inspiration for this Regency-era styled wedding shoot from her deep admiration for all things grand, romantic, and timeless. She has always been captivated by the regal elegance of the Regency period—live musicians, sweeping gowns, rich color palettes, and the overall sense of elevated celebration. When she toured the breathtaking Park Winters estate, originally built in 1865, the venue’s historical charm and lush floral gardens immediately sparked her imagination. Walking through the sunken garden, Athena felt as if she had stepped into a secret love scene—romantic, cinematic, and slightly forbidden. It was beneath a cascade of blooming purple wisteria that the concept solidified: Bridgerton. This modern Regency show reflects everything she believes a wedding should be—romantic, transformative, and visually spellbinding. The purples and spring tones woven throughout the shoot were directly inspired by the show’s symbolism, blending the Bridgerton family’s blue with Simon’s red to represent growth, love, and new beginnings. With that vision in mind, Athena infused every detail of the shoot with intention and storytelling.

[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]

The color palette for this shoot featured dreamy shades of purple, soft pinks, and light blues, creating a romantic and ethereal atmosphere. These hues beautifully contrasted with the vibrant greenery of the venue’s gardens, making every detail pop against the lush natural backdrop. Both gold and silver metals were intentionally incorporated to add dimension and elegance, mirroring the opulence of the Regency era. This blend of soft tones and metallic accents brought a sense of timeless charm and modern sophistication to the entire design.

[/field]
[field title=”The Venue”]

Park Winters, located in Winters, California, is a historic estate that beautifully blends 19th-century charm with modern elegance. Established in 1865 by George Washington Scott, the Victorian mansion stands as a testament to the area’s rich agricultural heritage. The estate spans 10 acres and features meticulously curated gardens, a seasonal flower farm, a sleek pool area, and a restored inn offering luxurious accommodations. The lush gardens, adorned with mature trees and vibrant blooms, provide a romantic setting reminiscent of the Regency era, making it an ideal backdrop for weddings and styled shoots. The flower farm invites guests to immerse themselves in seasonal beauty, offering experiences like “pick-your-own” bouquet sessions and creative workshops. The pool area, complemented by a hot tub and fire pit, offers a serene space for relaxation amidst the countryside. Park Winters’ commitment to preserving its historical essence while providing modern amenities makes it a unique and inspiring venue for any event.

[field title=”Florals & Decor”]

The florals, thoughtfully designed by Ada Wong, were the heart of the shoot and brought the Regency vision to life with regal elegance. From lush aisle sprays to a continuous floral runner across the caterpillar-style reception tables, every arrangement was carefully crafted with movement and grandeur in mind. Roses took center stage, with Ada blending shades of white, purple, pink, and blush to evoke softness and romance. To add depth and texture, she incorporated blooms like verbena, lavender, and clematis, along with curated greenery that gave each piece a full, luxurious feel. The decor for the shoot was a carefully curated blend of antique charm and romantic elegance, telling a story through every detail. Using a mix of vintage rentals from Frances Lane and unique pieces sourced from antique shops, we brought the Regency-inspired vision to life. From the porcelain swan filled with roses on the cake table to the vintage books and hand-painted lamp in the lounge, each element added character and depth. One standout feature was the tea cup installation, created by our calligrapher, Krista the Scribe, as a guest experience moment—each guest would find their name on a hand-lettered butterfly perched on an antique tea cup from Frances Lane, which also doubled as a sweet way to enjoy a cup of English tea. The furniture from Standard Event Rentals struck the perfect balance of elegance with a nod to the past, complementing the overall styling beautifully. On the tables, vintage pillar candle votives from Frances Lane held softly colored candles, allowing the florals to remain the focal point. The bride and groom also used Frances Lane’s antique lace umbrella, which added a delicate, romantic touch to their portraits and tied the whole aesthetic together.

[/field]
[field title=”Favorite Design Element”]

The favorite design element was the caterpillar-style tables, which brought both elegance and innovation to the layout. This trending setup offers a fresh take on guest seating, allowing for a continuous flow of floral arrangements down the center, reminiscent of a blooming river you’d see at a royal wedding. To elevate the design even further, we added cascading florals at each end, creating a stunning waterfall effect. The tablescape was a feast for the eyes, adorned with mismatched vintage plates that stayed within the color scheme, adding charm and character to each setting. Purple vintage goblets and hand-written menu cards completed the look, making the table design one of the most captivating visual moments of the day. Bridal hair and makeup stylist Jacqueline Banuelos crafted a look inspired by the soft romance of Bridgerton and the timeless grace of Victorian beauty. A modern French twist paired with delicate, face-framing tendrils created a silhouette that felt both regal and effortless—elegant from every angle, yet soft enough to let the bride’s natural features shine. For makeup, Jacqueline chose glowing skin, rosy cheeks, and sun-kissed warmth to subtly enhance her bride’s complexion and complement the intricate embroidery of her gown. The tones were carefully curated to feel fresh, modern, and wearable, while still being long-lasting and camera-ready. Every detail was designed to evoke softness, confidence, and timeless charm. This look is for the bride who wants to feel like herself, elevated, radiant, and unforgettable. To complete the ensemble, we curated every accessory with intention. All of the bride’s jewelry was sourced from Grace de Bloom, known for their luxury, handmade designs. Her romantic tiara and delicate white floral drop earrings beautifully echoed the gown’s graceful aesthetic. The crown was the final magical touch that transformed the bride into a true vision from a fairytale, tying together the look with charm and modern-day princess elegance. One of our other favorite design elements was the custom pillows created by Napa Valley Linens, made from the same luxurious fabric as the table linens. These pillows added a beautiful pop of color and texture to the lounge area, seamlessly tying in not only the color palette but also the intricate pattern and soft amethyst shimmer of the linens. The added sparkle brought a dimensional and cohesive touch to the entire space.

[/field]
[field title=”Tips To Pull Off The Look”]

To pull off a Regency-inspired wedding look, it’s all about layering in romance, history, and intentional detail. Start by curating vintage elements—mismatched china, antique books, lace accents, and colored glassware—to create a sense of time-worn elegance. Stick to a cohesive palette of soft pastels and rich jewel tones like lavender and blush, paired with both gold and silver to elevate the overall aesthetic. Florals should feel abundant and natural, with cascading arrangements and garden-style blooms that evoke the grandeur of a royal celebration. A caterpillar-style table setup allows for a flowing, connected floral runner that feels straight out of a Regency garden party. For added charm and immersion, thoughtful guest experiences like handwritten menus or antique teacup escort cards with English tea create meaningful, memorable moments. Live musicians, such as our harpist, Amy Anh, help transport guests into the romantic world you’re creating—our harpist added a dreamy, cinematic feel to the day. And perhaps most importantly, you’ll need a photographer with a keen eye and refined style to capture it all. Vivi of La Venus Studio brought this vision to life flawlessly with her expertise in lighting, composition, and posing, ensuring every romantic detail was preserved as beautifully as it looked in person.

Four Celebrations, One Love Story: A Color-Soaked Tuscan Wedding Weekend

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]

Every event had a different colour scheme. Mehendi – white, pink, orange and red Welcome dinner – white and red Catholic ceremony – green, black and white Sangeet – shades of pink Muhurtham – pink, white and gold Reception – black and white

[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

Since the bride is a wedding planner herself-she already had a clear vision of what she wanted. Day 1 was the mehendi and welcome dinner. We wanted to kick off the wedding weekend in the most authentic Italian way possible – with an Aperol spritz and pizza! We suggested the guests wear flowy linen white outfits to fully embrace the Tuscan countryside. We started at the Mehendi, which was Aperol spritz themed. All white decor with pops of bright pinks and oranges. We then had a roaming band serenading the guests and guiding them to the welcome dinner, which was meant to feel (and sound!) like a local pizzeria. The Catholic ceremony was in the Italian garden overlooking the entire village. We wanted to keep it simple, elegant, and romantic. We wanted the Sangeet (that immediately followed the catholic ceremony) to be the total opposite and set the tone for a night of dancing, so the pink shades were loud, bold, and over the top. The Muhurtham ceremony was very traditional. The mandap was built in the middle of a long pathway with nothing but trees and wildlife around. It felt very earthy, calm, and stayed true to the bride’s South Indian roots. We hosted the reception under the open sky, embracing a simple yet elegant black-and-white color scheme. Our goal was to create a timeless atmosphere that allowed the beauty of the night and the stars above to take center stage.

[field title=”Proposal Story”]

When Brendan and Reshma decided they wanted to get married, he knew he had a long road ahead. Reshma came from a large, tight-knit joint family with ten aunts and uncles all living under the same roof. Gaining her parents’ blessing was just the beginning; he also needed the approval of an entire household. He often joked that it was the longest, most chaotic interview of his life—nearly two years in the making. But when the time finally came to ask her, that moment was just for the two of them. Brendan had planned a romantic dinner cruise, but his nerves betrayed him all day. Normally, the calmest person in the room, he was jittery and restless, tipping Reshma off that something was up. When they arrived at the beach, she was met with a breathtaking sight—hundreds of white roses scattered in the sand, their favorite song, Forever’s Gotta Start Somewhere, playing over the speakers, and a private dinner table set for two with a bottle of champagne waiting. As Brendan got down on one knee, he froze. After all the planning, all the waiting, words failed him. Reshma, too excited to wait, whispered, “I think this is when you ask me to marry you!” In her joy, she jumped up and down—only to trip and twist her ankle. So while she spent the next few days limping, she was floating on cloud nine, officially engaged to the love of her life.

For the catholic ceremony, Reshma wore a corseted, basque waist ball gown from Galia Lahav. Made with French guipure lace, it also has a cat-eye plunging neckline. For the ceremony, she added its matching bolero jacket and a 10-foot lace-trimmed veil with “Forever’s gotta start somewhere” text embroidered at the bottom (the same lyrics from the song playing when Brendan proposed). Brendan wore a custom black and white tux. For the muhurtham, Reshma wore a traditional south indian gold Kanchipuram silk sari. The blouse had tiny pink flowers embroidered on it that matched the flowers on the mandap. It was designed and stitched by designer Bhuvi Kilpady. They added a 60-foot veil to match. Brendan wore a custom dhoti and kurta – a traditional South Indian outfit.

For the welcome party “pizzera”, Il Borro provided wood-fired ovens where guests could request fresh pizza with their favorite toppings, a pasta station with cheese wheels, and a gelato cart. For the Muhurtham, we wanted to honor tradition with a classic South Indian “Ele Oota”—a traditional meal where guests are served a variety of South Indian dishes on fresh banana leaves. Each leaf was carefully arranged with an assortment of rice, curries, vegetable sides, chutneys, and sweets, creating a well-balanced and flavorful meal. Guests sat in long rows as servers moved through, adding fresh portions, making it a communal and festive experience.

[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]

For the Aperol Spritz-themed mehendi, the main color was white, with pops of pink and orange flowers adding some color. Striped pink umbrellas kept things casual, and matching pillows with the monogram gave it a personalized touch. There was also an illustrator painting custom hand fans and straw hats for guests, while a mehendi artist did henna on the women’s hands. The welcome dinner: To capture the charm of a local pizzeria, Il Giardino Delle Fate set wooden tables with a simple yet inviting tablescape. Pops of red flowers, fresh vegetables, and moody mini lamps added warmth and character, creating an intimate, rustic ambiance. The pizza was served in custom mini boxes designed by Letterink, featuring a charming cartoon illustration of the couple on the front. The Catholic ceremony took place in the lush Italian garden, with a breathtaking view of the medieval village. We kept the decor simple and timeless, while incorporating a personal touch by using the white roses Brendan had used when he proposed to Reshma. The altar was beautifully framed with white roses. The Sangeet was all about pink—everywhere. Letterink designed custom tablecloths, a dance floor, and bar fronts. Il Giardino Delle Fate added tall floral arrangements with cascading pink flowers that made the space feel grand. Each table featured a different shade, starting from the lightest pink, creating a subtle ombre effect that tied the whole room together. For the Hindu ceremony, the mandap was set along a long walkway with a breathtaking view of the mountains in the background. Since the scenery was already stunning, we kept the mandap design understated. We chose pale pink flowers to match the ones we had seen naturally blooming in the village during our summer site visit, and of course, we had to include white roses as a meaningful touch. The reception took place under the night sky, with mirror-top tables reflecting the glow of countless candles and arrangements of white roses. As a personal touch, Brendan and Reshma wrote handwritten thank-you cards for each of their 162 guests, which doubled as their place cards.

[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]

Being in Italy, they chose to forgo a traditional wedding cake and fully embrace the Millefoglie, a classic Italian pastry. In front of the guests, a chef rolled out a table and, step by step, layer by layer, assembled the cake, alternating delicate, flaky puff pastry with rich, velvety pastry cream. Once complete, the cake was dusted with powdered sugar and adorned with fresh berries, creating a stunning, rustic masterpiece. Served with a crisp Prosecco, it was the perfect sweet ending to their celebration.

The day Brendan and Reshma met, she was wearing a blue and white polka dotted dress. Reshma’s maid of honor cut up a part of this dress and stitched it into a little heart and pinned it onto Reshma’s wedding gown – becoming her “something blue”.

On the sangeet, Reshma’s mom surprised everyone with an emotional performance-dancing to “Slipping Through My Fingers” by ABBA.

The entire weekend was gloomy and rainy, forcing them to pivot to Plan B for almost every event. But despite the unexpected weather, they were in Italy, surrounded by their closest friends and family. What more could they have asked for? And after all, they say rain on your wedding day is a sign of good luck![/field]

A Château Bouffémont Wedding That Beautifully Blends Cultures, Languages, and Love

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]

Natalie: I worked closely with our florist to create an autumnal palette that complemented the château’s unique façade. We went with dark shades of green, sage, pink, cream, and the most breathtaking hydrangeas I’ve ever seen to bring in a deep red for October.

[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

Natalie: We knew we wanted a venue close to Paris since so many of our guests would be traveling internationally to be with us. The size of our group was a factor, too, since many châteaus, however beautiful, simply don’t have the space for large parties. Château Bouffémont was perfect for us and has an international team that could accommodate us for the weekend and assist us in planning our bilingual event. The grounds of the property are also stunning, and, although this may sound silly, they have an old growth cedar tree on the west side of the château that is beautiful. I love that tree! Nicolas: We wanted the weekend to highlight what we value most in our lives: the relationships we have with friends and family. It was a big reason why we asked Natalie’s brother-in-law, Levi, and my best friend, Léa, to be our wedding celebrants. It was the perfect way to bring both languages into our ceremony. Levi’s opening line was: “Today, we have the privilege of gathering together to celebrate not only the joining of two people but also the blending of two families and two cultures. We are here to bear witness to the love story that Natalie and Nicolas have written together.”

[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]

Natalie: Nicolas and I met in September of 2017. I had been living in Paris for two years, and he, of course, had grown up there. We had a drink at Le Hibou Café, a very trendy kind of “m’as-tu vu” place in the city, and then strolled through the narrow streets of the Latin Quarter. After a while, we stopped to sit and admire the Notre Dame Cathedral, city lights sparkling on the Seine, lost in conversation. It was just after midnight when he walked me to the bus stop and said goodnight. I never told anyone this part, actually, but I remember walking straight to the back of the bus and my heart skipping a beat as I looked out the window and saw him standing there, watching the bus drive away. Our next date was just a few days later, and over the next several weeks, we saw each other all the time, going out for drinks, to live music performances, or on walks in the Jardin du Luxembourg. October in Paris is a beautiful time to fall in love, I have to say! We were able to introduce our families when my parents visited France in the spring of 2019. We now reside full-time in San Francisco, California. Nicolas organized what I believed to be a simple getaway to escape the winter blues in Paris, and we went on a weekend trip to the Champagne region, staying at our favorite spot, Le Château de Barive. This place feels like what I imagine staying at your chic grandmother’s country estate would be like if you had one of those! After two wonderful days walking in the woods, drinking bubbly, and enjoying the spa, we shared their last brunch before heading home. Anyone who knows me knows I live for hotel brunch, but Nicolas seemed to be in a hurry to get on the road. As we made our way back to Paris, light showers and moody skies accompanied us. At this point, Nicolas seemed more and more nervous and kept making Dad jokes about the weather. I knew something was up. After we arrived home, Nicolas suggested we stretch our legs and take a walk along the Seine. We grabbed our umbrellas and headed toward the river, making our way through the cobblestone side streets of the Odeon neighborhood where we had that first drink and, eventually, to the Pont des Arts. With a view of the Île de la Cité, the towers of Notre Dame, and the Louvre, it was a perfect spot to stop and take in the city. It was also the perfect time to remember our first kiss, in this exact spot, two years before! With this memory in mind, Nicolas got down on one knee and proposed. I said YES! It was impossibly romantic. I can still hardly believe we lived it. Nicolas had more surprises to come. We enjoyed a goûter at Bontemps, my favorite place for pâtisseries, followed by pizza and, you guessed it, more champagne! After all the excitement, we were looking forward to sharing the news with our family and friends. Nicolas had one more surprise: a “staycation” at The Hoxton hotel, where we had celebrated previous milestones and birthdays. After many phone calls and happy tears, we enjoyed a quiet night and, of course, brunch at the hotel the next morning.

Natalie: I’m so glad to get to tell this story! We had the luxury of a long engagement given the socio-political context of 2019/2020. I had been searching for two years to find a brand I felt connected to before I found Cathy Telle, who works out of Kyiv, Ukraine. I loved the idea of supporting a female entrepreneur, and when I reached out to her, she agreed to get started right away, creating an idea together of what I envisioned for my dress. It felt so special to have a custom piece made for the wedding, especially by someone so talented and kind. Cathy and her team really took care of me through the process of measuring, remeasuring, sampling different silks, and trying on drafts of the final piece. We recreated the neckline probably five times! She truly went above and beyond in every way. Now, so much has happened in Ukraine since we first started working together. It was quite an ordeal to get the dress physically out of Ukraine and into France when the time came to have it delivered. I am amazed at how she creates such beauty amidst such difficulty. I’m so proud of her.

[field title=”Groomsman Attire”]

Nicolas: For my tux, I definitely didn’t search for two years, but I had been looking around and not finding anything that felt right. The summer before the wedding, Natalie and I went to visit my. My best friend in Istanbul and his fiancée, who is from there. They showed us the hospitality and treasures this unique city is famous for, and we had a great trip. The day before we were to leave, the girls decided to go shopping, and we were introduced to Vakko, a luxury brand that is well-known in Turkey. I ended up trying on a tuxedo there that I loved. The team there was fantastic, and they had it altered overnight and ready for me to pick up the next day before heading to the airport! It’s a great memory for the four of us.

[section title=”The Details”]
[field title=”Food & Drink”]

Nicolas: Natalie researched two dozen venues for our Friday night welcome dinner. In the end, we settled on an Italian restaurant called Daroco in the heart of Paris, where we had been to dinner many times with friends. It’s tucked into the famous Gallerie Vivienne, so having the place to ourselves and wandering the halls afterhours was fantastic. They make pizza in a wood-burning oven and have a top-rated cocktail. Bar in the back; what’s not to love?! For the wedding night, we knew we wanted something very traditional French. Our caterers, Grand Chemin, knew how to please! They set up a massive apéro for everyone to enjoy after the ceremony, which is common in France. We had several stations with chefs cutting charcuterie, opening oysters, or preparing seasonal appetizers live for our guests. One of the great things about an October wedding is that you can have a lot of classic autumn flavors like mushroom, truffle, and pumpkin, which we love. There was beer on tap, a selection of natural wines that Natalie picked out, and so much champagne. We tried 8 different champagnes before selecting two options. It was hard work, but someone had to do it! We went with one classic, Louis Roederer 244, as well as a great champagne from a smaller producer in France, Fravaux le Varlan Blanc de Noirs by Michel Gonet. The dinner itself lasted almost 3 hours, which can be surprising for Americans! We started with foie-gras and a raspberry reduction and had filet de bœuf for the main dish. Of course, there was a selection of 7 French cheeses and salad to finish! C’est la France!

[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]

For the ceremony, we kept things soft and organic. We stood in front of the château, surrounded by overflowing floral arrangements in shades of blush, cream, soft peach, and deep rust, with lots of greenery to create that natural, almost wild garden feel. It felt intimate yet grand, exactly what we had dreamed of. Our reception was just as magical. The tables were adorned with lush floral centerpieces filled with garden roses, delicate anemones, and soft, wispy blooms. We had glowing candlelight everywhere—tall, tapered candles and little votive holders that made the whole room feel warm and inviting. I loved the mix of elegant gold and silver accents with the classic, vintage-inspired china. It all came together so perfectly, and walking into that space for the first time truly took my breath away.

[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]

Nicolas: We didn’t have cake! It’s tradition in France to have a dessert called a “pièce montée”, so that’s what Natalie and I shared when we “cut the cake”. It’s basically a tower of many choux pastries with vanilla filling. We also had a spread of other French desserts like chocolate mousse, fraises, Paris Brest, and Mille Feuille.

[/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]

Nicolas: Natalie’s father offered a beautiful prayer during the ceremony for us and our marriage. One of our closest friends from Paris is an opera singer, and she sang an acoustic version of our song “I Love You Baby” by Frankie Vallie and the Four Seasons as a wedding gift for us. It was very special. Natalie: Our first dance was to another of our favorite songs we whistle or hum all the time, “Dream A Little Dream of Me” by Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong. My dad has been a music director for over forty years, so I grew up around jazz and classical music. I’ve always loved this romantic classic.

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]

Natalie: This part is more difficult to talk about. We lost Nicolas’ mother to her battle with cancer in April of 2020, just two months after we got engaged. On the day of the wedding, it had been raining on and on throughout the afternoon while we prepared for the wedding. It even rained while I was walking down the aisle! Thankfully, the rain turned to a light sprinkle and stopped for the rest of the ceremony. After saying our vows, we were listening to our friend perform “I Love You Baby” and looked up to see a bright rainbow appearing over our family and loved ones. It was a beautiful moment that has lived in our hearts ever since.

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]

Natalie: For our first look, it was really important to me that it be more of a reveal for both of us and not just the bride being shown to the groom traditional way. I wanted a moment to appreciate Nicolas’s efforts and how handsome he would be, too! We orchestrated a “double reveal” thanks to our photographers. With my eyes covered, Greg led me into where Nicolas was waiting, his back turned to me. We counted to three and turned around at the same time, and, I have to say, that first-look feeling did not disappoint! Thanks to our wonderful videographer, 3PetitsPoints, we have the whole thing on video as well. We’re so thankful.

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #3″]

Another special element of our ceremony that we were set on incorporating was a small moment of silence. We wanted to settle into the reality of the moment and the gravity of this day with intentionality and gratitude. I grew up in the 1990s, so our celebrants took a reference about gratitude from Mr. Rogers (a pillar of 90s culture!) in a speech he gave in 1997. “As we begin the ceremony, let us reflect on the relationships and the love that we have in our own lives. All of us have special ones who have loved us into being. Would you just take a few moments to think to yourself of the people who have helped you become who you are — those who have cared about you and wanted what was best for you in life? Just a few moments of silence. […] All of us have gathered here today as those people for Natalie and Nicolas, their chosen family and friends. Love has no boundaries; it is the universal language that unites us.” It felt so good to remember and hold space for all those who meant something to us in our lives, whether they were present for our wedding day or not.

[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

Nestled on the sun-drenched shores of Maui, Olowalu is the kind of venue wedding dreams are made of. With panoramic oceanfront views, swaying palm trees, and golden hour light that seems made for romance, it’s no wonder this location sets the scene for some of the most unforgettable weddings on the island. For our couple, this venue offered the ideal backdrop for a celebration that was both lively and deeply personal. The bride envisioned a colorful and inviting gathering — a celebration that felt like a tropical escape, with every detail infused with personality and flair. And oh, did this wedding deliver. From the moment guests arrived, the design vibes were pure paradise. A custom luggage tag seating chart added a splash of playfulness and served as a charming keepsake. Rattan textures were seamlessly woven into the décor — from the welcome sign and picture frames to the table numbers — grounding the design with natural island elegance. Guests were greeted with a tropical-chic tablescape that was equal parts modern and magical. Blush water goblets paired with guava-toned napkins. Acrylic monstera leaf place cards added a whimsical, bespoke touch — all beautifully layered over rattan chargers. The tables themselves were light wood pedestal beauties, offering a contemporary contrast to the lush island surroundings.

Maui Mule: A playful island twist on the classic, featuring vodka, lime, Maui ginger, simple syrup, pineapple, and ginger ale.

A Refined Celebration of Soft Romance and Coastal Beauty on the Kohala Coast

[section title=”The Planning”]

[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

The day unfolded with two distinct atmospheres. The ceremony embraced an ethereal monochromatic white palette, softened by subtle touches of green in a breathtaking floral arch. As guests transitioned into the reception, the mood gently shifted into soft pastels, blushes, and sand-toned textures, inviting warmth and intimacy while still holding onto elegance.

Nestled on the stunning Kohala Coast of the Big Island, Mauna Lani, Auberge Resorts Collection, set the scene with its lush oceanfront grounds, black lava rock landscapes, and serene Pacific views. This luxury resort offered the couple and their guests an unforgettable blend of privacy, natural beauty, and barefoot elegance, making it the perfect location for their heartfelt celebration. Lindsay and Thomas selected Mauna Lani’s Papakonane Beach venue for its secluded ambiance and sweeping sunset views. The overall vibe was relaxed, romantic, and refined, perfectly echoing the spirit of Hawai’i and the bride’s vision of soft, feminine textures with a modern tropical twist. The reception design was an extension of the bride’s refined taste and eye for detail. She handpicked each element—from the soft blush linens to the sheer table runners adorned with coastal-inspired shell motifs, creating a layered, textural tablescape that whispered ocean romance. Sand-colored linen napkins and coordinating rings added an effortless, beach-chic finish. The floral arrangements were slightly brighter here, featuring a fresh fusion of orchids and petal-rich blooms, striking the perfect balance between modern tropical and soft romance.

Oh gosh! That is a pretty good story! Ben told me to pack for a warm-weather trip but gave me no other details! After a long travel day, we arrived at Rosewood Little Dix Bay resort in Virgin Gorda, which was an absolute dream—a serious slice of heaven. About two days into our trip, Ben planned a special excursion to go to a private island for a picnic. After the captain dropped us off and helped us set up a picnic, we got cozy in the sun and just began to chat. It was just the two of us on this island—after chatting and soaking up a little bit of sun, he asked me to go for a walk, and after taking a few steps, I turned around to see him on one knee. An Intimate Indian-American Celebration Blending Heritage and Heart in the Tuscan Countryside

[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

From the bride & groom: “Usually, Indian weddings tend to have a tremendous number of people for the celebration. However, the essence and feeling we wanted to give to all the guests was that this was an intimate wedding. Everyone there was someone special to us, and someone who knew my dad when he was around (he passed away when I was 15). With this in mind, we decided to have a destination wedding to create that feeling. We landed on the destination of Tuscany, Italy, due to our history as a couple with the location. We met when I was a freshman in college, and in my junior year of college, I studied abroad in Florence, Italy, for a semester. Ashok was in medical school at the time, and was able to fly to meet me there, making it our first vacation and trip together as a couple. It has always had a special place in our hearts, so we thought it would be fitting to have the wedding in a meaningful place! While we spent most of our time during our initial trip in Florence, we decided to take the wedding to the countryside for a more romantic, quaint feel. The Tuscan countryside has an undeniable charm, and the beauty speaks for itself. For the wedding ceremony itself, we wanted to do a modern take on Indian weddings since we are Indian-American and wanted to combine our two worlds, while also highlighting Italian culture. I wore a deep red lehenga to stay traditional and honor my roots, which I am so happy I did because it contrasted so beautifully with the Tuscan greenery. However, I chose a modern design of a dress by Dolly J Studios and customized the blouse, with the lengha having a floral, Italian-esque design rather than traditional geometric patterns, and wearing a long veil, as an homage to western bridal dresses. Instead of a traditional mandap, we also had a western-style neutral floral arrangement within tall Italian stone vases + Roman statues to blend the Italian feel. At the end of the religious ceremony, we chose to incorporate the Western tradition of vows, to share our love for each other in front of those who loved us most. Throughout the wedding, as well as the other wedding events, the underlying theme was appreciating the natural beauty of the Tuscan countryside and adding decor simply to enhance it. We had a total of 125 guests, in what felt like a storybook setting in the Tuscan countryside for a 3-day intimate celebration of our love- it truly felt like a magical bubble. “

[field title=”Proposal Story”]

From the bride & groom: “How we met: We met by chance when I (Priya) was just 17 in high school and he (Ashok) was in college. We briefly met at a party when I was smitten with him after seeing him across the room (true story!), but we just went our separate ways. Just a year later, when I started college, we happened to meet each other again at a party, not remembering we had met before. This time, we began getting to know each other and kept in touch. We realized early on that we were going to eventually be at the same medical school (I was in an accelerated program with an early acceptance to med school, and he was just accepted to the same medical school a few months prior). A few weeks into getting to know each other, I realized he was the same guy I was smitten with a year prior, and it seemed like fate, quite honestly, that we were on the same personal/professional track, although a few years apart, and our lives had crossed paths yet again. We fell in love within a few months of knowing each other and ended up dating throughout college, medical school (we had 2 years overlap), and now we are both in residency. Just as luck would have it, we are now residents in the same hospital! He is an orthopedic surgeon, and I am a plastic & reconstructive surgeon. We are both surgical residents who share a deep passion for our profession and each other. Despite us both working 100+ hour work weeks sometimes, we always fit in moments to find time for each other. Our line of work can be fulfilling, but also emotionally and physically hard- having each other to come back to is so grounding. It’s now been almost 10 years together, and I will always feel like our love story is one of fate. The proposal: After moving in together, when I started residency at the same hospital as Ashok, he secretly began to plan the proposal. He knew I wanted to be completely surprised, and so he had to take matters into his own hands to create a plan and hide it from me, all while living together. In April of 2023, we had planned a weekend out in Brooklyn under the pretense that one of our close friends was proposing to his girlfriend. The entire time we were there, I believed I was getting ready to see one of our close friends get engaged, when in reality, it was us! On the day of the proposal, as luck would have it, it was pouring rain and thunderstorming. Ashok had flown in decorators from California to NY to create an elaborate setup that was initially intended to be along the water, with the New York cityscape and Brooklyn bridge in the background; however, due to the rain and high winds, they were unable to do so. They got creative with solutions, and somehow, there was a nearby Shake Shack with an outdoor patio with an awning and string lights that permitted them to set up there to protect the decor from the rain, still with a view of the Brooklyn Bridge. When the Uber dropped us off at the corner, and we turned onto the street, he told me, “Someone else is getting proposed to today.” I was dumbfounded, and it was not until we walked up to this beautiful setup of a large heart made of flowers, with lighted words saying “you Marry Me?” in the center, surrounded by pictures of us and rose petals across the ground, that I understood what was happening. It was beautiful! The rain made the entire experience even more romantic and magical. After the proposal, we ran across the boardwalk with the city/Brooklyn Bridge in the background, all while in the rain, and it was perfect! After the proposal, he surprised me once more with an intimate dinner at the River Cafe in Brooklyn, and a surprise afterparty on a Manhattan rooftop with all of my family and best friends who flew in to celebrate. “

From the bride: All dresses were custom! I worked with a designer in India, Pinky Kandhari, who was able to bring my vision to life. I wanted all the girls to be in beige/gold with similar fabrics, however, with different blouses and outfit styles that matched their personality and were flattering for each of them as individuals! Some girls wore lehengas, some shararas (a style of Indian clothing with flared pants and a cropped top), and each with a different design of a dupatta (Indian scarf) and blouse. All of the girls gave me their preferences, and we were able to create 11 different and unique bridesmaids’ outfits. I felt that this way, the differences added some dimension, while also allowing them each to dress in something they felt most confident and comfortable in!

For the White Wedding reception, the catering Il Sorriso served the following menu: Trofie with Arugula and Walnut, Spaghetti with Pesto and Confit Yellow Tomatoes, Ricotta and Basil Tortelli on a raw Tomato sauce with fried aubergines and Pecorino Cheese flakes, Chicken thigh marinated with ginger, paprika, and garlic with yogurt dressing. For vegetarian guests, the bride and the groom selected Zucchini Flowers filled with Ricotta Cheese on Potatoes and Saffron Cream and Black Truffle. As a side dish, they served Roasted Potatoes and Spinach with roasted Pine Nuts and Cherry Tomatoes.

[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]

For the Haldi: the flower selection included white, yellow, and pink carnations, roses – Mondial and Brighton, laurel and olive branches with lemons. The flower decor also included baskets with petals of different colors, mostly pink, yellow, and orange, to be used during the rite. For the Sangeet, the flower selection included carnations, roses, white hydrangeas, and a mix of greenery (ruscus, eucalyptus, and olive branches). For the White Wedding: the flower decor for the White Wedding had white as the main color. A selection of different types of roses, together with lisianthus and delphinium, with a touch of grey-green, was used both for the ceremony and the tables of the wedding reception.

[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]

For the cake cutting, they decided to have the traditional Italian cake Millefoglie stuffed with chantilly cream and decorated with mixed berries.

[field title=”Special Detail #1″]From the bride & Groom:

“Unique things we did:
First Touch: Instead of a first look, we did a first touch! I wanted my wedding look to be a surprise during the entrance, but not sleeping next to each other the night before or seeing each other all morning was something both of us knew would be nerve wrecking. So, we chose to do a first touch- we met in a secret spot and couldn’t see each other behind the wall, but we were able to hold hands, hear each other’s voices and feel each other’s presence right before the ceremony started. It calmed our nerves getting to have that private, sweet moment and catch up right before we laid eyes on each other in front of all our guests.

Making our guests feel extra special for making the trip for our wedding:

To show everyone how much they mean to us, and how thankful we are that they came all the way to celebrate our love, we made seating assignments through thank you notes. Despite our schedules (we tend to work overtime in hospital), we wrote personalized handwritten thank you notes to each guest telling them anecdotes and what they meant to us as individuals, finally finishing these in Italy on the nights leading up to the wedding. These cards were then hung on a large board as a way for each person to find their seat. It was so beautiful, to see later in videos captured by our guests and HOTC, how much this meant to them, coming from us.

First Dance with Mom: After losing my dad at the age of 15, it had been just my mom and I for the last 13 years together. I knew I would not have my dad at the wedding since I was a teenager, and had given a lot of thought of who I would do my first dance with. I could have opted for one of my uncles, but I decided to ask my mom to dance with me. She acted as both a dad and a mom to me growing up after we lost him, and is my best friend. We slow danced to my dad’s favorite song, and cried both sad and happy tears the entire time. There wasn’t a dry eye in the room. It was one of the most special moments of the wedding, and it felt as if my dad was in the room with us.”[/field]

A Glamorous White and Gold Wedding That Brought Sunset Elegance to the Ca’ d’Zan Mansion

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”][/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

We wanted a clean, bright, and glamorous look. Anyone who knows me knows how much I love white and gold for all my decor. Those were our two dominant colors for our florals and details. For our ceremony, we wanted the beauty of the water, the marble terrace, and the gorgeous Ca’ d’Zan Mansion to come through, so we went with all acrylic chairs and pedestals for the florals, as well as a custom 4-dimensional acrylic arch that featured white florals overhanging and spiraling up the sides. We also wanted to make sure to complement our venue, so we had touches of blush in our reception florals, cocktail table linens, and bridesmaid dresses.

The Ca’ d’Zan Mansion at the John & Mable Ringling Museum of Art set the tone for our entire wedding. When I saw it for the first time, I had tears in my eyes driving up to it – it quite literally took my breath away, envisioning a ceremony overlooking the water at sunset with the magnificent backdrop of the intricate mansion. The mansion had Venetian-inspired elements that made guests feel like they were transported to Italy. We wanted the evening to be glamorous, elegant, and timeless, with a vibe full of life, energy, and happiness.

[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]

Our engagement felt like it was out of a movie. We arrived at the stunning 180° Sunset Bar in Mykonos to a very long line waiting for entry. To my surprise, we got the VIP service and were promptly brought to the front of the line by a woman speaking Greek with a clipboard for our “reservation.” My heart immediately started to race as I realized this had to be it! We were escorted down a long staircase to a private clifftop terrace covered with candles. Vince popped the question, and we blissfully enjoyed a bottle of champagne while we watched the sunset and FaceTimed our families to share the great news. Vince had secretly hired a fabulous wedding planner and photographer to set up the perfect scene and capture our incredibly special moment. We spent the evening blissfully wandering around Mykonos after dinner and had the rest of the week to enjoy Paros and Santorini as well. It was unforgettable.

I think I might have tried on every wedding dress in New York City…not to mention Miami, West Palm, Sarasota, Tampa, Charlotte, and Buffalo. No stone was left unturned. The gown I kept going back to was a Berta Couture ball gown from the Maggiore collection, covered from head to toe in pearls. The gown was classic, elegant, and timeless while being incredibly unique with the pearl-adorned sweetheart neckline and sparkle that came from the layer underneath. I loved the gown because it truly transformed in every type of light throughout the evening. I wanted a gown that was truly unique and special – it gave me that fairytale princess feel while still being sophisticated and elegant.

My bridesmaids wore gorgeous L’IDEE gowns in dusty shimmer. Each bridesmaid picked their unique style, and L’IDEE worked with me to custom-make the gowns all in dusty shimmer and send them from Australia. The ladies were stunned in these elegant and sophisticated gowns.

Michael’s On East catered our wedding, cooking everything fresh on site. The seafood display at our sunset cocktail hour wowed guests, while passed hors d’oeuvres were also a hit. For dinner, we started with a deconstructed salad of fresh burrata mozzarella, sliced Parma prosciutto, heirloom tomatoes, and arugula, topped with balsamic reduction and olive oil. For the main course, we served garlic and herb crusted chateau of beef paired with a jumbo lump meat crab cake. The dish was complemented by gruyere scalloped potatoes, artichoke hearts with prosciutto, and baby carrots. We opted for a top-shelf bar, and the martinis were plentiful!

[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]

Lighting and florals were key in achieving the ambiance we were going for. We had gorgeous empire chandeliers brought in draping over our expansive head table and suspended overhead from trees. White English roses, peonies, ranunculus, and hydrangeas were everywhere you looked – atop mirrored tables and gold bars. We wanted the reception to feel like a live music lounge, so we had an amazing gold circle bar and beautiful plush ivory soft seating surrounding our classic black and white dance floor facing the floral-lined stage with uplighting to highlight a true-to-size rendering of the Statue of David surrounded by palm trees as the backdrop. So Staged and Weber Scenic Productions did an incredible job making our vision become reality with twinkle lights, an abundance of candles, and flickering heat lamps bringing warmth to the space.

[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]

Our cake was a classic three-tiered wedding cake with fresh flowers delicately placed atop the buttercream frosting. It was an amaretto cake with the tiers alternating between cannoli and raspberry filling. Our champagne flutes and cake serving utensils were engraved and adorned with pearls to match my gown, a gift from my mother-in-law.

[/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]

The music in our ceremony was breathtaking. Our vocalists sang “Unforgettable” as our parents walked down the aisle, “Can’t Help Falling in Love” for our bridesmaids and flower girls, and “A Thousand Years” for my entrance, escorted by my father. We wanted a personal feel for our ceremony, so we wrote it ourselves from start to finish, including our vows. For the recessional, we walked back down the aisle to “I Can See Now,” which symbolized finally being able to celebrate our marriage with all of our family and friends after our original wedding date had been postponed due to the back-to-back hurricanes that hit Sarasota for our original wedding date in October. Our twelve-piece band, Powerhouse Next Generation, was nothing short of exceptional. Our first dance was to “Can’t Get Enough of Your Love,” which holds a fond place in my heart as it reminds me of summers spent at the beach with my family. We opened the dancefloor immediately after with “Dancing in the Moonlight.” As we sat for dinner, my dad gave a loving speech, my aunt said a beautiful blessing, and the band played “The Summer Wind” in honor of our grandparents. I danced to “The Way You Look Tonight” with my dad, and Vince danced to “Forever Now” with his mother. Our band kept the hits coming for the rest of the night – even people who normally don’t like to dance kept finding themselves on the dancefloor. Given that I am a Buffalonian, “Shout” was a highlight of the night.

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]

We had a little bit of a Cinderella theme underlying the wedding. For our Welcome Party, I wore an incredible blue gown made by Milla. Our first look was in the tower at the top of the Ca’ d’Zan mansion, which very much felt like a castle. Our ring bearer pulled our littlest flower girl down the aisle in a gold carriage very reminiscent of Cinderella’s carriage during the processional. I also wore my version of a glass slipper, which were crystal-encrusted Louboutins that I paired with an entirely crystal party dress that I wore towards the end of the reception, made by Albina Dyla. It was not intentional, but I kept pulling on my fairytale subconscious for my dream wedding.

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]Something Borrowed – My something borrowed was a stunning custom-made yellow diamond necklace and matching earrings curated for my aunt by Borsheims. I had imagined them with the dress for months and months, but never tried them on with the gown until ten minutes before I left my house for the ceremony. They couldn’t have been more perfect with the dress. They were incredibly special, meaningful, and brought the whole look together.[/field]

A Seaside Celebration in Sea Glass Hues at Gibson Island Club

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”][/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

After both growing up on the Chesapeake Bay, we wanted to incorporate shades of sea glass that can be found on the beaches of the places we grew up. We ended up focusing on light blues and greens, with splashes of lilac.

We had one of our first dates at Gibson Island – we played tennis, walked on the beach, and had awesome food. Since then, it has been a special place for us, and the amazing view and beauty of the clubhouse helped us land on a seaside wedding design. We wanted to capture a classic, elegant, and whimsical vibe that worked well with the outdoor event space.

[field title=”Proposal Story”]

We met in Murray Hill in Annapolis and spent a lot of time going on paddleboarding trips around Annapolis Harbor before we started dating. On one of these paddleboard outings, Thad asked me to be his girlfriend. A few years later, on another paddleboarding excursion on a gorgeous August day, Thad and I paddled around a point to a sand bar where Thad said that three years prior, he had asked me a question on a paddleboard that had changed his life forever, and he was hoping to ask another question to change his life again. It was the perfect moment. A little later, a friendly boater also enjoying the weather took our first picture together as an engaged couple!

I went to Lovely Bride in Georgetown to try on wedding dresses, and fell in love with the Georgia dress by Made With Love. I was looking for a dress with a fitted silhouette, a low back with buttons, and thin straps. I tried on the dress with a veil, but decided that I wanted to forgo the veil and make a hair pin with pieces of my mom’s wedding veil.

[/field]
[field title=”Bridesmaid Dresses”]

The bridesmaid dresses were from Birdy Grey and Azazie. My bridesmaids were my three sisters, Thad’s sister, and my bonus daughter, Jane. I wanted my bridesmaids to feel confident and comfortable, so I had them all over for dinner, and we went through the dress styles in the colors Thad and I preferred, and each bridesmaid got to pick the style they liked the best for themselves. My maid of honor wore a dark blue dress, and the other bridesmaids wore dresses in light greens, blues, and purples.

[/field]
[field title=”Groomsman Attire”]

The groomsmen wore dark blue suits with blue ties, white shirts, and brown shoes and belts. They ordered their suits from Black Tux. Thad’s dark blue suit was from Boyd’s in Philadelphia, and he wore a patterned light blue tie with a pocket square and brown shoes.

All food was prepared and served by the venue! The salad was a delicious strawberry, watermelon, and feta salad, the soup was the frosted crab soup from Gibson Island (Thad’s favorite!), and the entree selections were either a fish with rice and roasted vegetables, or a steak with glaze and vegetables. We offered an open bar, with our signature cocktails – a mojito for me, and a Lavender Fizz for Thad. Thad happily ended up having three bowls of his favorite frosted soup – an excellent groom perk!

[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]Our fabulous planner, Cristina Calvert Weddings, introduced us to Holly Chapple, a florist located in Maryland. We worked closely with the team to bring to life our vision for an asymmetrical flower arch for the ceremony, and flower arrangements that included some of our favorites blooms – lilies for Thad, and Gerbera Daisies for me. Our goal was to have a whimsical, not too polished presentation that was still classic and elegant. Decorations were provided by Perfect Settings and BBJ La Tavola to complete our vision, and all paper products were created by Inquisited and many guests were blown away by the beauty of our invitation suites. [/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]

We chose not to have a wedding cake and instead worked with Gibson Island to have a gelato cart and milkshakes (a huge hit!). We used to walk into Downtown Annapolis to get milkshakes from Red Bean or Annapolis Ice Cream Company, and wanted to incorporate this element of our love story into our wedding for guests to also enjoy.

[/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]

We asked my uncle to officiate our wedding and crafted our ceremony flow on our own. Thad and I wrote our vows to exchange privately before the ceremony, with a second version to share with our guests during the ceremony. We incorporated readings by Robert Fulghum and an Unknown author. We had our DJ, Harvey from Mixing Maryland, play Yo-Yo Ma, “Inspired by Bach: The Cello Suites” as guests arrived and as the wedding party proceeded down the aisle. We used “Invisible String (Stripped Wedding Cover)” by Ana Done for the bridal processional, and played “Emiliana” by CKay as our recessional song. Our first dance was to “Imagine (Acoustic)” by Ben Platt, and our DJ did a fabulous job with the soundtrack for the reception, getting everyone on their feet all night! Our final dance was to “Feels Like Home” by Bonnie Raitt.

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]

Our first look and private vows were at the point on Gibson Island. It was where we went on one of our first dates, and it was the perfect location for that intimate moment. I wore a bracelet from my mom as “something borrowed”, and blue shoes during the cocktail hour as my “something blue”. The hairpiece I wore was crafted from elements of my mom’s wedding veil and was my “something old”. Thad’s dad gifted him cuff links that he had received as a gift from Thad’s mom on their wedding day, 35 years ago.

We wanted the florals to feel like fall. We included leaves in the arrangements and accented the entire space with figs and pears. Each guest’s name was handwritten by a calligrapher attached to a pear at their place setting. I didn’t want a lot of extra metallic and metal tones, so when our planners added pears and figs to add some of the rich gold and deep tones, it felt perfect! The seating chart and table names were local mountain ranges in Utah. We had watercolors created by the stationery company to bring a vibrant look to the seating chart and tables. We wanted to include touches of the color of the autumn sky without it feeling like an accent color. Everything melded together so beautifully. The weather and natural outdoor areas flowed seamlessly into the more formal indoor fall-inspired space.

A Whimsical Coastal Garden Party Infused With Color and Laid-Back Luxury

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”][/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

A soft, romantic palette of lavender, blush, peach, buttery yellow, and pale blue created a dreamy and elevated coastal atmosphere. These hues were incorporated into every detail of the day, from the florals and stationery to glassware and textiles. To elevate the reception space, a bold pop of pink was woven in, creating a dynamic contrast that still feels cohesive. From the fresh fruit to the guest attire, the choice to play with color felt perfectly matched for this destination wedding.

The vibe of the wedding can truly be described as a garden party by the sea, both effortlessly elegant and whimsical. Inspired by the rich textures and joyful spirit of Mexican design, natural wood accents and bright, expressive colors were incorporated to bring out the warmth of the celebration. The lush florals, natural textures, color palette, and bold, intentional design gave off a sense of laid-back luxury. To keep the atmosphere intimate and welcoming, thoughtfully placed lounge furniture invited guests to relax and connect. Throughout the space, visual moments- like colorful installations and hand-rolled cigars- were meticulously designed, encouraging guests to explore and spark conversations.

[field title=”Proposal Story”]

To celebrate their five-year anniversary, Noah planned a special evening, starting with a sunset at the cliffs in Newport Beach, California. The location was hand-picked by Noah for its quiet intimacy and breathtaking ocean views, a meaningful backdrop that reflected their shared love for the sea. Unbeknownst to Sophia, Noah’s best man had arrived early to ensure the spot was clear. As the sun dipped low, Noah took Sophia’s hand and spoke from the heart, sharing how deeply he loved her and the future he dreamed of building together. Then, he got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. Sophia, to no one’s surprise, said yes without hesitation with teary eyes and a huge grin.

Guests were welcomed with a tequila and hibiscus cocktail, complete with a custom drink topper. During cocktail hour, tray-passed hors d’oeuvres were paired with three signature drinks: a purple gin for her, a bold tequila option for him, and a playful alcohol-free ‘Best Pup’ mocktail as a nod to their beloved dog. Dinner was an intimate, three-course meal highlighting fresh, locally sourced ingredients that showcased the region’s vibrant cuisine. As the night unfolded, guests were treated to late-night tacos and churros for a fun, flavorful ending. [/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]

The floral design evoked a dreamy garden ambiance, overflowing with garden roses, delphinium, and lisianthus in sunset hues with pops of blue and purple. Lush, full arrangements were thoughtfully placed in baskets, creating the sense of hand-picking fresh blooms from a vibrant garden. The ceremony space featured a broken floral arch that framed the bright blue ocean, while a cascade of florals lined the aisle. Transitioning to the reception, lush blooms framed the stage of the band to further invoke the garden aesthetic. Wood structures were adorned with vibrant pink blossoms and accented with wicker chandeliers. Each table was artfully set with an array of flowers, flickering candles, and fresh citrus fruit, combining natural elegance with festive vibrancy.

[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]

The modern wedding cake was a true showstopper. Complete with cascading ombre florals, the striking cake was surrounded by fresh blooms, echoing the garden-inspired feel of the celebration and framing the delicious centerpiece. The wedding cake sat against the ocean backdrop, turning the cake into a photo op that many guests went out of their way to capture.

[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]

Sophia and Noah’s ceremony was officiated by the bride’s brother, making the moment incredibly special and personal. Overlooking the ocean, the setting- complete with swaying palm trees and salty air- captured their love for the sea. After the touching vows, the celebration continued with a live band that kept the energy high and guests dancing under the twinkling lights. Adding a unique nod to the grooms’ passion, a cigar roller offered custom-initialed cigars. This fun element created a memorable evening and a unique favor.

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]

The escort wall was a standout detail that captured something deeply personal to the couple. Food is their love language. Many of their most cherished moments leading up to the big day were spent cooking, creating, and laughing together in the kitchen. They used this shared passion as the inspiration for the escort display, which featured their favorite cookbooks, artisanal hot sauces, and fresh ingredients. It was a warm and whimsical way to welcome their loved ones and share their love for culinary creativity and the memorable experiences that brought them together.

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]

The evening ended with a literal bang. The bride changed into a fun dress to dance the night away with her new husband. All the guests surrounded the couple on the dance floor for the entire evening. As the band played Marry You by Bruno Mars, fireworks erupted overhead, painting the sky with colors and perfectly punctuating a night of love, laughter, and unforgettable memories.

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #3″]

As a fellow wedding vendor, the bride is a wedding planner herself. She spends her days bringing others’ wedding dreams to life, so watching Sophia’s vision come to life was truly special. Seeing her walk into the venue and experience the same joy she so often gives to others was unforgettable.

[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

The color palette for this wedding is a harmonious blend of soft, romantic hues and vibrant garden-inspired tones, creating an atmosphere that feels both effortless and intentional. At the heart of the design is a delicate yet statement-making shade of pink, woven throughout the florals, décor, and personal details to evoke warmth, joy, and timeless romance. Blush and soft pastel pinks serve as the foundation of the palette, appearing in lush blooms like spray roses, ranunculus, and sweet peas. These softer tones are complemented by deeper, more vibrant pinks found in poppies and dahlias, adding dimension and a touch of whimsy. The florals, which also feature hints of ivory, buttery yellows, and soft lilacs, mirror the natural, wild beauty of an abundant garden in peak bloom. The pink hues are carried throughout the wedding design in subtle but impactful ways—through the bride’s bouquet, and through the reception details, where pink-tinted blooms spill across pistachio green printed tables, adorning centerpieces, custom dance floor, and temporary tattoo station. The choice of green amaranthus and fresh greenery adds a grounding element, ensuring the palette feels organic rather than overly curated. The use of pink in this wedding is more than just a color choice—it’s an intentional thread tying together the romance of a garden in full bloom. It brings a sense of softness to the overall design, enhances the joyful energy of the celebration, and reflects the love and warmth shared on this special day. Whether in the bride’s bouquet, the floral-wrapped wedding cake, or the delicate table arrangements, pink is not just an accent—it’s a feeling, a story, and a reflection of love in its most beautiful form.

The carefully curated color palette—anchored in soft and vibrant pinks, with complementary hues of ivory, buttery yellow, soft lilac, and fresh greenery—sets the tone for a wedding that feels effortlessly romantic, organic, and enchanting. This palette doesn’t just decorate the space; it transforms it, evoking the essence of a flourishing garden in peak bloom and creating an atmosphere that is both refined and welcoming. Pink, the heart of the design, speaks to the natural beauty and whimsy of a garden party setting. The range of pink tones—from soft blushes to deeper, more playful hues—adds a layered richness that feels both intentional and naturally abundant, much like flowers scattered throughout a secret garden. The florals, abundant and slightly wild in their arrangement, enhance the unstructured elegance of the day, making every detail feel as if it were plucked fresh from the earth. Beyond the florals, the infusion of greenery and natural elements balances the sweetness of the pinks, grounding the design and ensuring it feels organic rather than overly polished. The result is a setting that feels lush and inviting, a space where nature and romance intertwine seamlessly. This palette extends beyond the flowers, influencing the choice of soft, textured linens, dreamy tablescapes, and even the custom dance floor that mimics the hues found in the floral arrangements. The wedding cake, adorned with cascading blooms in matching tones, becomes a natural continuation of the floral design, reinforcing the sense that every detail is part of a greater, blooming whole. Ultimately, the colors bring the garden party vision to life, making the wedding feel less like an event and more like an experience—one where guests are immersed in a world of blooming beauty, soft romance, and effortless charm. Every shade, every bloom, and every detail work together to create a wedding day that feels like a dream wrapped in flowers.

Shayne offered to spend the day doing all of Kaleigh’s favorite things – getting iced coffee, thrifting, and of course, going on a picnic! He took Kaleigh to Butler Metro Park in Austin, and after setting things up, Shayne got on one knee and asked Kaleigh to be his “forever picnic date”. The rest is history!

The floral and decor vision is of a lush, garden-party-inspired affair that feels effortlessly romantic and brimming with natural beauty. A carefully curated selection of seasonal blooms creates a rich tapestry of texture and color, with ranunculus, sweet peas, irises, dahlias, cosmos, poppies, roses, and spray roses blending harmoniously. The addition of trailing green amaranthus introduces a touch of movement and depth, evoking the organic elegance of an overgrown garden in full bloom. The patterned green linens and velvet couches add as whimsical accents to the bright florals. Each flower, chosen with precision by Forsynthia Florals, complements the wedding’s color palette, ensuring a seamless flow between the floral elements and the overall design. The bouquet is tied together with a soft pink ribbon stem wrap, perfectly matched to the delicate pink hues found in pink florals, adding a refined and personal touch. The result is a design that feels fresh, romantic, and timeless—a true reflection of the beauty and joy of the wedding day.

[field title=”Special Detail #1″]The couple’s getaway car was more than just transportation—it was a sentimental showstopper. Shayne’s pride and joy, a sleek 1990 Fox Body Mustang affectionately named “Buffy,” played a starring role in the celebration. Decked out in hand-painted tin cans, flowing tulle, and ribbons that matched the wedding’s color palette, Buffy sparkled with vintage charm and personal flair as she waited to whisk the newlyweds away. Adding an extra touch of fun, Shayne’s groom’s cake paid tribute to his beloved car and his love for golf—it featured a detailed miniature model of Buffy cruising around his favorite hole at his favorite course, a playful and heartfelt nod to his passions.[/field]

Kaleigh wanted to infuse their wedding day with a fun, unexpected twist that truly reflected their personalities—so she and Shayne sourced a vintage tattoo vending machine and gave it a bold, custom makeover with a fresh coat of pink spray paint (naturally!). Always one for the details, Kaleigh designed a collection of playful, couple-themed temporary tattoos and stocked the machine with “his and hers” stickers for guests to discover and enjoy throughout the reception. It quickly became a crowd favorite, sparking laughter, photo ops, and a touch of nostalgic charm that perfectly captured the couple’s vibrant, creative spirit.
