Brookline Wedding from Ashley O’Dell Photography

It’s safe to say that meeting your future Mr. or Mrs. is one of the greatest moments of your life.  And meeting your soulmate in elementary school?  That’s what we call a fairytale beginning.  And that’s exactly the case these two sweeties, who met in second grade (!) and filled their wedding with the cutest touches ever as an ode to their childhood beginning.  (Think chalkboard venue directions and childhood books as table numbers.)  And the rest of their wedding held at the breathtaking Larz Anderson Auto Museum in Brookline?  Absolutely gorgeous with fab florals from Derby Farms, a chicken and waffle nightcap and amazing images from Ashley O’Dell Photography.  See them all in the full gallery.

From the Bride… Ned and I are both very close to our parents and siblings and wanted the day to be about family. The lyrics, “home is wherever I’m with you” from one of our favorite songs became the theme to our day.

The week leading up to the wedding was a special time for us as we worked together to complete the personal touches for our wedding. We first met in second grade and wanted to highlight our story in the details of the day. Ned hand-painted venue directions on chalkboards, a nod to our history as children together. I gathered favorite children’s books that we used as table numbers. Our guests signed the books during the reception. This way we will be able to share the memories from our wedding with our growing family.

We fell in love with Larz Anderson Park and Museum right away. For months we worried that our outdoor ceremony would be ruined by rain. We didn’t think to worry about a heat wave. One of Ned’s greatest acts of love was standing in 95 degrees heat, in the direct sun, in a tuxedo! Our guests stayed cheerful throughout, staying cool during cocktail hour sipping Stoli Dolis made by the groom.

My favorite moment of the day was right after the ceremony as we walked away from our guests and into the park. Alone with my new husband, it was the first time I had felt calm in weeks. Moments later we were surrounded by our parents and siblings and the celebration began. After what felt like minutes, our late-night snack of chicken and waffles was served, we swayed to our last dance, and our guests waved flags as we were whisked away.

We look forward to going back to Larz Anderson Park in the years to come to make more memories with our family.

Peabody Wedding at Brooksby Farm from Katie Pietrowski Photography

You know what I absolutely adore?  Barn weddings.  And you know what I adore more than that?  Barn weddings filled to the brim with perfectly imperfect florals, vibrant colors and rustic details aplenty.  So, you can imagine the pure joy I was feeling when I came across all of the lovely happening in this sweet Peabody soiree captured by Katie Pietrowski Photography, which just so happens to be boasting all of the above, plus some beyond fabulous DIY details, burlap touches and a too-cute-for-words bride and groom. See it all right here.

From the Bride… Tanner and I are both laid back people, and wanted our wedding to feel fun and relaxed. I knew that I wanted a barn reception, and once I found Smith Barn, I knew immediately it was the place we were meant to get married. We wanted the wedding to be full of personal touches and really make it our own. We decided to write our own ceremony, and have a close family friend officiate. We chose an acoustic guitar player to perform the ceremony music, which really made everything come together, and gave it the intimate rustic feel we wanted.

I had a lot of fun planning the wedding, and couldn’t have done it without my mom or my Maid of Honor. My mom, a former president of our local garden club, put together all of the centerpieces and the look of the tables. My Maid of Honor and I worked out all of the mason jars for table numbers, and I decided on the skeleton keys as a fun way to do seating cards.

While we were planning, dessert was one of the largest debates, since I’m not a big fan of frosting. We ended up meeting in the middle and having both a traditional wedding cake as well as apple pie for guests to choose from.  Smith Barn was a wonderful place for the reception, and we decided to hang lanterns over the dance floor, as well as both a Canadian and an American flag to represent our families coming together. From the outdoor ceremony, to photos in the orchard, to dancing in the barn under the twinkle lights, I couldn’t have asked for a better way to celebrate our marriage.

New England Woodsy Engagement Session from Rachel Red Photography

One look at this New England-inspired shoot from Rachel Red Photography, and I can tell you one thing. I can’t wait to see this couple’s wedding. Why you ask? Well, for one they couldn’t be more adorable if they tried (puppy included), and two, anyone that tells their photographer they want a shoot that’s “Lumberjack meets Mumford and Sons meets Urban Outfitters” basically can do no wrong in my book. And I think they are in good standing with your book too. Need more proof? Just take one look at this gallery. It’s basically New England perfection. See it all here.

From Rachel Barker of Rachel Red Photography… Paige and Justin are oh so in love! They wanted to do a shoot with a woodsy, New England feel but with a twist. Lumberjack meets Mumford and Sons meets Urban Outfitters if you will. We met in a beautiful rock quarry at sunrise on a crisp New England morning and photographed what this young couple would want their wedding to feel like. Natural wood, accents of red, and texture everywhere.

Nantucket Wedding from Soiree Floral + LifeFusion Studios

As you know, we always rave about the personal touches that our couples infuse into their weddings… and today’s feature has some really unique touches. When choosing a wedding venue, they fell in love with Nantucket – and all the details ended up in a day filled with love and laughter and a party-all-night vibe. The invites from East Six coordinated beautifully with the floral design from Soirée Floral. The bridesmaids’ Jenny Yoo dresses set the stage for the bride’s elegant Lhuillier wedding gown. The sand ceremony, the on-site artist, the personalized-custom ceremony (written completely by the bride and groom) and the river rocks collected lovingly by the bride’s mom – all set the tone for this love-til-you-drop celebration at The Galley. Captured brilliantly by LifeFusion Studios, this outdoor-beachside wedding will inspire and delight! See more in the full gallery right here.

From the Bride…We knew we wanted to pick a location that would bring our friends and family together for a weekend. After looking at a few options on the Cape and Vineyard, we took a ferry ride to Nantucket with my parents on a crisp day in January. Words can hardly describe the feeling that instantly hits you when you arrive on Nantucket – it is the coolest combination of calm, fun and freedom. When we stepped off the ferry and onto the cobblestones that day, Stephen and I both instantly knew without a doubt that Nantucket was where we were going to get married. The same feeling fell over us when we visited the Galley. Although the restaurant was boarded up, the furniture was covered and the sand was piled halfway up the outside of the building, we knew it was the perfect setting for our wedding – classy but laid back, privately situated on the beach and known to have really, really excellent food. The Galley, with its chic outdoor lounge furniture, cool inside décor, open airy feel, amazing staff, tasty signature beverages and superb food far exceeded our very high expectations.

Many people choose to get married on Nantucket because they grew up on the island. Even though we had spent some time on Nantucket together, relatively speaking we made this choice as “Nantucket newbies” but that was one of the incredible bonuses – as part of planning our wedding, we had the chance to really get to know and fall in love with Nantucket for its beauty, beaches, people, food and so much more. We feel so connected to Nantucket now and know it will always be a part of our lives.

Planning our wedding was much harder than I thought it would be, mostly because it became quickly apparent that I have a very, very hard time making decisions. But as the planning process went on, I slowly started to learn (thanks to the incredible support of my fiancé, my parents, my sister/matron of honor and my incredible bridesmaids) to trust my gut, believe in our vision, and keep focused on what was most important: planning an intimate and fun event to celebrate our marriage with our family and closest friends. I cannot say enough about how much our wedding planner Maureen Maher did for us. She made the process unbelievably simple and stress free – she kept us on track with decisions, gave us honest feedback, coordinated meetings with hard-to-nail down vendors and seamlessly planned the flow and sequence of our event.

We wanted our wedding to evoke simple, romantic elegance and compliment the gorgeous natural backdrop of Nantucket. Our color palette was blush, ivory, and a “not quite navy” blue. Our wedding planner Maureen Maher and florist Dawn Kelly helped us bring this vision to life. Our invitations from East Six helped set the tone for our vision – a pocket fold invitation with tone-on-tone ivory flowers accented with a beautiful silver satin ribbon. They were so beautiful and we received many compliments on them. My bouquet and my bridesmaids’ bouquets were soft and beautiful with blush garden roses, calla lilies and hydrangea – a perfect compliment to the setting and the bridesmaids’ “capri” colored Jenny Yoo dresses.

We had our ceremony on the beach with the waves crashing just feet away from us. We wanted a very soft and intimate feel for the ceremony. The aisle was lined with white orchids in galvanized buckets and flowing white curtains on bamboo framed the altar. Smaller galvanized buckets with petals for tossing hung from aisle chairs. We added a pop of color to the setting with baskets placed at the start of the aisles filled with turquoise blue throw blankets rolled up with twine for guests to use in case they were chilly.

Our reception was held in a tent on the beach outside of Galley Beach, the most spectacular place in the world. We were inspired by a “Grey Lady” tablescape photo shoot that floral designer Dawn Kelly had collaborated on last year and we pulled several elements from that for our décor – including light grey table cloths, crisp white plates, beautiful orchids and a splash of blue on the tables.

Dawn complimented this with absolutely stunning floral arrangements… three different “looks” graced the tops of the square and round guest tables including different combinations of white orchids and calla lilies accented by candles, twine and river rocks. The long head table had a gorgeous collection of flowing pink orchids and candles. The tent was accented with playful string lights, white paper hanging stars and vintage marquee rusted “LOVE” letters that we bought from a vendor on ETSY to hang in the tent (and later served as a focal point for our afterparty).

Stephen and I are huge foodies and didn’t want the typical surf and turf wedding fare, which is one of the reasons we selected the Galley. During the cocktail hour, freshly shucked oysters at a raw bar and delicious passed apps including escargot in puffed pastry and lamb chops. Our dinner menu included a warm crab cake starter and a choice of scallops with a vanilla bean sauce or the Galley’s signature veal chop for the main course. The entire room’s plates were clean at the end of the meal! Our cake by Jodi’s Cakes was not only delicious (not one slice remained!) but beautifully tied into our overall feel with simple silver ribbons tied around each tier.

Making sure our friends and family had fun was really important to us and our choices for music reflected that. We had an excellent laid-back artist from the Cape, John Beninghoff, playing acoustic guitar on the beach for the ceremony and through the cocktail hour. And our band, Joe Bachman & the Crew, who I would describe as not your average wedding band, absolutely rocked the house. A highlight of the night was a full-house sing/scream/jump along to Nirvana’s Teen Spirit. (Everyone including our fathers were hopping three feet off the dance floor.)

It was really important to have sentimental and personal touches throughout our day. To name a few…

We wrote and selected our entire wedding ceremony ourselves and my life long friend Avery, who was also one of my bridesmaids, officiated and married us so it was extremely personal. Putting the ceremony together took a lot of time and hard work but it was absolutely worth it as every word had incredible meaning – from the heartfelt personal introduction by Avery to our vows. The readings also had significance with one being a passage called “Time with You” from a newspaper clipping that we found in an anniversary card that my grandfather had given to my grandmother on their first wedding anniversary.

We incorporated a Sand Ceremony to represent the joining of our families. For this, we collected sand from beaches in different geographies that had meaning including where we live now, where I grew up, where Stephen’s parents fell in love and, of course, Nantucket. During the ceremony our families combined the various containers of sand into a large glass globe that we had made by the Sandwich Glass Studio on Cape Cod. A “Stephen & Ryan’s Wedding” welcome sign was made by our Jr. bridesmaid and Ring Bearer (with help from their mom and dad) and was placed outside the Galley to greet our guests.

For something old and new, I had a custom bridal cuff made by genius jewelry designer Courtney Prince of Doloris Petunia. I sent her pieces of my grandmothers’ jewelry and she incorporated them into the design with the clasp being from a bracelet that was my paternal grandmothers and a deconstructed brooch from my maternal grandmother accenting the overall cuff. It looked spectacular and was incredibly special as neither of my grandmothers were at our wedding. I also had a cuff made for my mother that featured a large green stone from a pendant of her mothers. My bridesmaids’ gifts, jeweled Nantucket rope bracelets, and my headpiece were also designed and made by Doloris Petunia.

For our table seating cards, we tied twine around river rocks that were collected one-by-one with much love by my mother on the beaches of Cape Cod. For our guestbook, we really wanted something that would always remind us of Nantucket and so we had guests sign a poster-sized, vintage map of Nantucket that we now have framed and hung on our wall at home.

For some fun, we had temporary star tattoos made up (that matched the matching permanent tattoos Stephen and I have on our wrists) and handed them out to guests at the rehearsal dinner so nearly every guest donned a star on their wrist at the wedding the next day!

And last but not least, Stephen surprised me by bringing artist and friend Odin Smith to Nantucket to paint two canvases that captured the beautiful beach setting where we were married. Odin took actual sand from the exact spot where we were married and pressed it into the paintings.

Waltham Wedding at Gore Place from Lara Callahan

Sometimes all it takes is just one picture, one fabulously captured moment and you just know a wedding is going to be amazing.  And that fabulously captured moment in this gorgeous Waltham wedding?  For me, it was the oh-so-perfect image of a VERY happy bridal party dancing down the aisle towards the breathtaking ceremony.  It’s awesome.  As is every last moment of this sweet Gore Place affair from Lara Callahan, with its pretty, pretty blooms by Whole Foods and sweet Melissa Sweet masterpiece.  See it all in the full gallery.

From the Bride… We had a pretty intimate Autumn wedding (139 guests) that was both budget friendly (around $20,000 total) and DIY. Everything was held on the same property, Gore Place. The ceremony was in an open field and we were married under a large tree.

My step-grandfather married us. We met because of him. When I decided to move to Boston from Florida over six years ago, my grandfather urged me to stay with his cousin’s family–Cathy and Pip Higgins. Despite my hesitations, I stayed with them while I interviewed for jobs. After accepting a position in Boston, the Higgins insisted I lived with them until I got to know the city better (who does that?). The rainy night I moved here, their daughter Peggy picked me up from the airport and their son Teddy took my luggage. And six years later…Teddy’s my husband! The funny thing is, he told all of his friends that “his cousin” was moving up to Boston. Hence the word bubble “Way to keep it in the family.”

The cocktail hour was in a hedge garden just around the corner from the field and it was if the bushes were walls– an outdoor room with no roof. During the cocktail hour we served a signature cocktail named by me, “The Appley Ever After” (apple flavored vodka and buttershots), and signature beers. The reception was held in a large white tent with a dance floor and a carpeted floor steps from the hedge garden.

The lighting was very important to me. I loved the paper lanterns hovering over the dance floor. The blue uplighting made transformed the tent into a party atmosphere. At each table, we placed a whiteboard in the shape of a word bubble. Originally, written on them was the table number and instructions to “Erase this and write whatever you want on me!” There were some very funny/sweet notes. Our guests had a great time using them.

The bracelets were my “something old, something new, something borrowed, and something blue”. They meant so much to me. Each piece of jewelry resembled the woman who allowed me to borrow it. For instance, my little sister chose a green bracelet with turtles to represent her young and quirky nature. My older sister let me borrow the watch her husband gave her on the day of her wedding just a year earlier than mine. I could look at my wrist and see each woman in my life. It became an impromptu ceremony as they took turns placing their bracelets on my wrists, one by one. This was one of my favorite moments of the day.

New England Wedding at Hotel Marlowe from EFD Creative

We’ve said it before, we’ll say it again…. your venue is the foundation for your big day. So when this couple came across Hotel Marlowe in Cambridge they knew it was the perfect stage for their travel-inspired celebration. Brought to us by the talented EFD Creative this romantic New England affair is filled with darling details (hellllooo hot air balloon invites!!!) and warm florals. It’s a journey that is best told by the beautiful images from LifeFusion Studio so join us right here in the gallery to explore even more.

From EFD Creative…Veronica and Greg are world travelers and wanted to bring those experiences to their wedding. Finding Hotel Marlowe was a perfect pick for the venue. The interior of the hotel and ballroom is designed with a modern eclectic feel with a whimsy of travel in the decor — compasses and world maps are part of the everyday decor… a perfect match.

We wanted to work with the hotel design and bring in Veronica and Greg’s travel elements. Place cards, menus and programs all had the travel theme with luggage, compasses, hot air balloons and more. The table names were of locations they visited world wide that had meaning for them. The cake design picked up on the patterns of the room, diamond shapes and criss crosses. Everything just came together!

From the Bride… Greg loves modern, minimalist styles and I am all about popping colors and antiques. Thank God we found Edna from EFD Creative! She had this incredible spark and managed to help us find a common vision for our special day, while putting together an amazing team of vendors. I am from three different countries and travel often. Moving has been a common pattern throughout my life. In the past three years, Greg and I have lived in 3 different states, and traveled to many new places. The theme of exploration and travel was just a natural one for both of us, and particularly fitting since most of our guests were coming from out of the country. The Marlowe Hotel in Cambridge was the perfect venue for us, as it combined the quirkiness I was looking for, with the more elegant and sophisticated concept that Greg wanted.

Our wedding was a labor of love; it was an incredibly special day, which was really a reflection of who we are. The crowd was quite eclectic with a mix of American, European and South American guests, and Joe Toto from Groove Events threw a fantastic dancing party that had even my grandmother dancing until the end!

What we will cherish forever is remembering how happy our friends and family were that day celebrating with us. Marina and Yi from LifeFusion Photography captured all those special looks, that tenderness and the love that was around. They did such a fantastic job that we want to print all the pictures they took! Melissa and Tom from Long Haul Films were quite incredible – I looked at the trailer of our wedding and it just made me cry. Those are memories that will stay with us forever. Edna is an amazing planner and a true friend. She put together a fantastic team of vendors who were not only super professional, but really great people. That was the best day of our lives!

Seaside Engagement Session from Kelly Dillon Photography

Love stories never fail to make me weak in the knees, but when they happen to someone like this gorgeous (ok, seriously gorgeous) Bride-to-be, that’s when I thank my lucky stars my job is to share it all with you. I’ve actually personally known this beauty for some time, and to see that she found her (very dashing) prince charming makes me all giddy inside. The best part? Even if you don’t know this duo, you can see just how much they adore each other in each and every beautiful image from Kelly Dillon Photography, and how can you not love that? See so much more of this adorable couple right here.

From Kelly Dillon PhotographyBrianne and Rick grew up in North Andover, Massachusetts, less than two miles apart, but they would have to wait two decades before fate brought them together. A shared childhood friend, bridesmaid Sarah Graham, connected the pair in the fall of 2011 and when their first phone call lasted over two hours, they both knew – right away – that they had found someone special.

On a Friday night not unlike any other, Brianne finished up work under the presumption she would be meeting Rick for dinner along with some friends visiting from out of town. Instead, he showed up at her office with news that it was time to go to the airport. In disbelief, she was escorted to a car waiting downstairs and whisked away on a flight to Florida. When they landed that evening, Rick took her to the Polynesian Resort on the grounds of Walt Disney World (a place they both loved growing up and still frequent to this day), where they found a lone hammock overlooking the water. He popped the question, and the two were betrothed!

Botanic Garden Wedding from Wildflower Photography

If you love blooms like we do (and I have a sneaking suspicion you are equally obsessed), then you’ll need to favorite this next fête for sure. It’s feast of gorgeous florals from Bostonian Florist surrounding a love-filled wedding at the Tower Hill Botanic Garden which we get to enjoy thanks to Wildflower Photography. Long story short, it’s image after image of gorgeous – and it can all be found right here.

From Wildflower Photography… Jessie and Chris had a lovely rustic wedding at the Tower Hill Botanic Garden in Boylston, MA, and despite a few raindrops, this couple took the weather with stride! Their ceremony was held in the light-filled Limonaia building, and with an arched glass ceiling, it had us wishing that every indoor ceremony we photographed looked as magical as this one! These two really personalized their ceremony, with hand-written vows and passages by Kahlil Gibran and the Velveteen Rabbit, it was such a true representation of Jessie and Chris.

From the Bride… For me, the best part of our wedding was a tie between reading our very personal, sightly humorous handwritten vows to each other, and the reception… which was basically one giant party! One of my favorite reception moments was when two of our friends serenaded us with a special wedding day song that they had written together. It was hilarious and a total surprise! My advice to couples in the midst of wedding-planning is that throughout the wedding ceremony and reception, make sure to take a moment here and there to pull each other aside and soak up the moment. The wedding day goes by SO quickly… it’s really nice to take a moment to say, ‘Wow’, and realize what an awesome day it is!

Great Barrington Wedding at Gedney Farm from Eric Limon

If you’ve spent your entire life dreaming of a beautiful barn wedding (read: this stunning bride), then it makes perfect sense to tie the knot at Gedney Farm, a piece of rustic paradise located in New Marlborough that also happens to host some amazingly gorgeous barn affairs.  Barn affairs like this sparkling gem of a day snapped up by Eric Limon, which is proudly boasting a stop-you-in-your-tracks ceremony, bright yellow blooms from Gillooly Design and acres upon acres of breathtaking scenery. See it all in the full gallery.

From the Bride… We planned a weekend wedding at Gedney Farm with 40 guests staying on site with us, all other guests were 20 minutes away in Great Barrington, Massachusetts. I have always wanted to get married in a barn and grew up outside of Boston, while David went to summer camp in Pittsfield, MA. We both wanted an outdoor ceremony and cocktail hour to embrace the beauty of the Berkshires in the summer.

The morning and afternoon of the wedding guests gathered to play yard games and enjoy being together outside. The ceremony began at 5pm with my brother, a chemistry teacher, officiating the Christian/Jewish ceremony. The ceremony took place in a grassy knoll a short walk from the farm. Cocktails followed the reception outside the barn in a beautiful yard with an acoustical guitar player. Dinner and dancing took place in the barn.

All the flowers were intended to look like a summer meadow and were displayed in various containers, jars, and cheeseboxes. My bouquet consisted of white peonies wrapped in my late father’s necktie. Each table had a small guest book for words of congratulations and advice. The kids table overflowed with crayons, playdough, and custom coloring books featuring the bride and groom. The meal was seasonal and local.

Beautiful Ballroom Boston Wedding at State Room

If you’ve ever had the chance to attend an event at The State Room in the evening, when you can see all the lights of Boston twinkle over the city, you know it’s nothing short of magic. It’s an evening that should be on every Bostonian’s must do list, and this lovely couple hosted just such a night for their guests. With the beyond talented lovelies at TRUE Event on board to make that gorgeous space even more gorgeous, and Bruce Plotkin Photography on board to capture all the magic of the evening, it’s safe to say this gallery is one stunning place to be. See it all here.

From the Bride… We knew that we wanted our wedding to be a big party with a lot of dancing. I grew up in the Boston area, and after exploring a number of venues, we decided that The State Room, with its huge space and amazing views of Boston Harbor, would be the perfect backdrop for us to dance the night away. We also knew that we wanted entertainment that was going to blow our guests away and keep them on the dance floor, so quickly booked Beantown Band, arguably one of the best bands in the Northeast.

Despite having a city wedding in a relatively modern venue, we wanted to incorporate a lot of texture and rustic elements into the décor to reflect our love of the outdoors. Deciding on our various vendors who could help make that a reality was perhaps the most fun part of the wedding, and we definitely ended up with a dream team. Having seen her in action at my best friend’s wedding a year earlier, I quickly enlisted the help of Sarah True of TRUE Event. Sarah was such an important part of the planning process, and she and her second in command, Caitlin, made me feel completely at ease on the day of. Semia Dunne of Flowers by Semia was unbelievable to work with – from our first meeting, she instantly understood my vision and incorporated so many lovely hues, textures and dimension into our floral arrangements and décor. And the wonderful team at Paper Moss worked with our calligrapher, Kristen Henderson, to create a timeless and whimsical letterpress invitation suite with painted gold edges. It perfectly set the tone for our big day!

Event planning is a hidden passion of mine and I wanted to be very hands-on throughout the design process, which included a number of DIY projects with the help of various wedding blogs and a slew of vendors from Etsy. Perhaps my favorite project was creating the concept for our escort card table, in which our tea-stained cards were displayed on vintage tin ceiling tiles using magnets made from antique filaments. I was speechless when I saw the final product!

On December 1, 2012, we awoke to find a soft snow dusting the streets of Boston – a perfect backdrop for our big day! I couldn’t have been calmer and had so much fun getting ready with my bridesmaids with Lindsay Griffin taking care of hair and Zoe Markos doing our makeup. Patrick and I did a “first look” before the ceremony, which I would highly recommend – not only do you get to spend your first few minutes with just each other, soaking in the moment, but you also get all your pictures out of the way and get to enjoy your cocktail hour! Our ceremony, which occurred right at sunset, was short but personal and the hundreds of candles that Semia flooded down the aisle created the perfect intimate ambiance. When the festivities started, both of us remarked at how unbelievable it was for us to exchange vows amongst so many of our family and friends. With Beantown providing the entertainment, it was hard for anyone to leave the dance floor, and the whole evening ran perfectly with the help of not only Sarah and Caitlin, but also the fabulous Carrie Scott and her team at The State Room. And everything was captured perfectly by Bruce Plotkin Photography so that we will remember the celebration forever! Our wedding day was everything we could have hoped for, and we’re so thankful for the important people who helped make it possible.

Ipswich Wedding at Hellenic Center from Lindsey Ocker Photography

Lindsey Ocker Photography sent us this gorgeous, early Fall wedding and we can’t get enough of all the pretty colors. There’s no denying that Fall is the perfect time to get married in New England, especially if you’re planning an outdoor ceremony like this cute couple. The florals are hands down amazing and just one of our favorite details. Click here for even more!

From Lindsey Ocker Photography… Laura and Trevor were married at the Hellenic Center in Ipswich, MA on September 22, 2012. It was the first day of Autumn and perfect. Laura never stopped smiling and Trevor couldn’t stop staring. They laughed, stole kisses, danced with their long-time friends, and enjoyed every second of their amazing day.

Harvard Wedding at Fruitlands Museum from Desjar Photography

I can’t help but love a bride who describes her big day with so much kindness, grace and love. And although I know this couple only through these gorgeous images from Desjar Photography, it’s clear that they were completely deserving of the beautiful wedding day crafted for them by New England Vintage and mStarr Event Styling + Design. See every last detail right here!

From the Bride… I first met my (in-my-opinion-adorable) husband when a couple mutual friends decided to take our love lives into their own hands and set us up. “Why not?” I figured as I braved Boston’s cold winds to meet Pete for a drink. An hour later, it was clear I’d met someone pretty awesome. I’d never encountered anyone so open to an earnest discussion about the all-time best cereals or so indulgent in the face of admittedly too many “would-you-rather” questions.

Three years later, Pete proposed to me in our bedroom with a ring he designed himself. “I wanted you to have a ring that no one else in the world had,” he would tell me later. The answer was easy. By then, “forever” was no stranger to our conversations. The hard part, now, would be to plan a wedding that reflected us, and our love. Our peaceful, natural, happy love.

And, to me, our wedding did just that. The Fruitlands Museum welcomed our guests with a clear, seventy-two degree day in late October. Jillian of New England Vintage Rentals (NEVR) and her assistant, Emily of mstarr event and design, had meticulously executed the site design. A lace canopy framed my entrance, mason jars with flowers lined the aisles, and guests sipped warm apple cider, as I walked down the grassy aisle to marry my Pete. Meanwhile, our band, the Now and the Forevers, strummed a guitar, making our big moment almost ethereal in its beautiful simplicity.

During the cocktail hour, guests roamed under café lights and found their place cards I had made a couple weeks before. Our wonderful photographers laughed with guests while capturing beautiful images of real smiles and genuine reactions. Within the reception tent, the tables held centerpieces incorporating my love of books and Pete’s love of cars. Our guest book took the form of an old drawer, filled with library cards awaiting guests’ well wishes.

Our band’s immense talent and charisma prompted guests to take over the dance floor before the first course had even ended. Guests paused their giggling and dancing only to take another, quick swig from a mason jar or to take another tasty bite of an apple cider doughnut.

During all my pre-wedding neuroses, everyone warned me, “Things will go wrong on your wedding day. You need to just ignore the hiccups and have a good time!” So, I woke up the morning of October 20th ready to smile through rain, toppled cake, red wine stains, family drama- you name it. But, they were wrong. To me, our wedding was perfect in every way, and it would not have been possible without all the amazing people that worked together to create such a blissful, happy day.

Boston Wedding from Person + Killian Photography + SD Events

We love a good, old fashioned traditional wedding here at SMP Massachusetts and The Four Seasons in Boston is basically the best place to have one. This classic beauty, designed and planned by SD Events, is picture perfect in every way. Person + Killian Photography captured all the pretty from first look to last dance and you can see it all right here in the full gallery!

From Person + Killian PhotographyWe started the day getting ready with the bride and groom, in their own separate rooms, at the Four Seasons. Bettina and John wanted to have a traditional “first look” moment before the evening’s ceremony, and the hotel’s grand staircase overlooking the Public Gardens was the perfect place to do it!

With a few hours to spare before the ceremony, we took the opportunity to get some formal photographs of the couple with friends and family. We utilized the Four Season’s beautiful indoor spaces for photos with parents and siblings, then moved across the street to the Public Garden to get some great outdoor pictures of the couple with their wedding party. The ceremony itself was held in the Four Season’s own Governor’s Room.

With formal photographs already out of the way, Bettina and John were able to enjoy their bright and lively cocktail hour with guests in the hotel’s Aujourd’hui Room, while the Main Ballroom was being prepared for the reception. The space looked soft and romantic thanks to the great planning and design by SD Events, with gorgeous floral arrangements by Mimosa. The guests had no trouble getting this party started, and with some help from Boston Beantown Band, they kept celebrating all night!

Berkshires Inspired Shoot from Lyndsey Hamilton Events + Elisabeth Millay

This shoot dreamt up by Lyndsey Hamilton EventsRebecca Shepherd and The Stylish Bride at Stonover Farm? It’s basically my dream. Barn chic with some 60’s glamour thrown in for the after party, how can you go wrong? It’s perfect part elegant and whimsical – leaving us with one inspiring gallery of images from Elisabeth Millay, which you can see right here.

From Lyndsey Hamilton Events… We chose an incredible location in the Berkshires: Stonover Farm, located in Lenox, Massachusetts, which has an amazing barn, ideal for our Winter Shoot. The concept was industrial farm with a dash of whimsy.  The Randi Rahm dress was perfect for the theme, with an adorable white fur cape sourced by stylist Julie Sabatino. The lucite accessories provided some throwback 1960s glamour. We wanted to keep the flowers simple, lots of white and green, with vintage containers. The furniture was from rEvlove by Kingston Design Co. The pieces were perfect for the aesthetic of the barn, with a zinc top custom 12 ft. barn-board bar for the reception area and barn board tables, and scattered over-sized white lanterns throughout the space. The leather butterfly chairs and raw wood side tables beautifully complimented the more causal outdoor “after-party” area.

Beverly Wedding from Servidone Studios Photography

This little beauty from Servidone Studios Photography has it all: a couple radiating love + happiness, a gorgeous wooded venue and a reception space filled to the brim with handmade details. Wanting a fun, laid-back event focusing on delicious food + lots of dancing, these brides spent months seeking out inspiration and DIYing till their hearts content! And the result? Sweet as can be. See the rest here!

From the Bride… Courtney & I knew we wanted our wedding to be a fun party with scrumptious food! A wedding coordinator from another venue site suggested we take a look at The Estate at Morraine Farm in Beverly, MA and once we set foot on their property we knew that was the location for us.  For the next year I spent my days researching blogs, ripping out pages from bridal magazines, and pinning ideas on a daily basis! The final result: Mason jars on all the tables filled with oil, a black & white photo & organic lavender, votive candles, birch logs with table numbers burnt onto the sides, birch logs with slices with place cards, chalkboard menu board made from an old frame I found during a weekend of antiquing and sanded down myself, wild flowers in glass vases, and strands of lights hanging everywhere. Our vision was to dance the whole night long with our family, friends & our dog ,Gus, under twinkle lights mimicking the stars we stood under four years ago when we fell In love. The finale of the evening was a sparkler send off! People have asked me if there are any parts of the wedding id like to change or do differently and my answer is absolutely NO! Our wedding was by far the most magical day of our lives and we couldn’t have asked for a more perfect evening with all our loved ones celebrating our love and future together!

Martha’s Vineyard Wedding from Christina Szczupak

This wedding? It’s a dream. And the images Christina Szczupak sent our way? Absolutely hang on your wall worthy. Each one has the most beautiful feel of how this gorgeous day unfolded, and from the looks of them, it unfolded in a beyond perfect fashion. With the gorgeous Martha’s Vineyard setting the prettiest scene for this new Mr. & Mrs. (who just so happen to be gorgeous themselves), it’s safe to say this gallery is just beyond. See it all here.

From the Bride… Ricky and I are so blessed to have been married on our seven year anniversary surrounded by our best friends and amazing parents. We have so many favorite memories from our wedding – the highly-anxious first look when Ricky finally saw me in my wedding dress, walking down the aisle with my dad, exchanging our vows and both of us trying not to cry and ending up laughing, our hilariously uncoordinated entrance dance with the wedding party (Gangnam Style!), our parents killing it on the dance floor and making every single person laugh, and celebrating with great music and delicious food with those closest to our hearts.

Marrying my best friend was the most overwhelmingly joyful experience and I could not ask for anything more. Our day was surrounded by so much love, from the handmade hanger for my dress, to the “love” cake topper for our wedding cake, to our personally designed invitations, all by my beautiful bridesmaids. I wish we could relive our wedding day over and over again and we are so lucky we can because every single moment was perfectly captured by Christina.

Cape Cod Wedding from Cape Cod Celebrations + Grazier Photography

This beautiful bride had never been to a wedding before her very own and yet she created a drop dead gorgeous wedding with the help from the talented people at Cape Cod Celebrations. Each and every detail is so lovely and each image from Grazier Photography is so pretty you could frame it. See it all right here in the full gallery!

Don’t miss this fab film from Travis Wilbur:

From Cape Cod Celebrations… Talk about a first. This was the bride’s very first wedding. Jessica is from Cuba and had never been to a wedding before her own and it was A-mazing. From the weather to the details, everything was perfect. Jessica and her fiance Eliot were incredibly relaxed and were able to enjoy every minute of their spectacular day. The couple was very particular about their look and picked all of their linens, flowers, colors, paper, you name it – it was their design, we just guided them in the right direction and made it all happen. Jessica and Eliot were also models in a past life, so every photo of them is stunning! The most important detail for the couple was their ceremony tree. The florist hung white ribbons from the tree to enhance the setting and the result was beautiful. Food was also important to them, and Crazy Chefs provided just what they were looking for – an incredible meal catered to their tastes. Matt and Enna from Gazier Photography captured an amazing day with a very special couple who was near and dear to us at Cape Cod Celebrations.

Martha’s Vineyard Wedding from Kristen Leigh Conklin

Kristen Leigh Conklin has place a permanent smile on my face this morning thanks to her beautiful images from this classic Martha’s Vineyard wedding. That pretty little island off the coast of Massachusetts is the perfect host for this perfectly New England affair, and this couple just knew it was the only place for them to say I do. I couldn’t be more thankful they did, because it left us with a gallery that’s perfect parts preppy and stylish. See it all here.

From the Bride…In July of 2011, Jay proposed to me in front of the Edgartown Lighthouse on Martha’s Vineyard. It was early in the morning and we were sitting in the sand, sipping coffee in our pajamas. We knew that we wanted our wedding to have a similar vibe: intimate and casual, just like us, and preferably, on the same special Island. It was soon decided that the ceremony would take place at East Chop Lighthouse and the reception would be held at Atria in Edgartown. Our goal was to make the wedding a personal reflection of us. But we also knew that our guests were traveling long distances for our wedding, and we wanted them to experience our favorite aspects of the Vineyard. On our wish list: an intimate ceremony, a playful cocktail hour, a twinkly dinner, and touches of vintage Martha’s Vineyard.

Planning a wedding on Martha’s Vineyard was not without it’s challenges. We are based in the DC area, which meant we had some busy weekend trips to the Island, many hours of help from family, and a lot of faith in our vendors. My mother, my aunts, and my maid of honor all took a hand in planning and crafting. They made numerous trips to Michael’s and stayed up late assembling the table numbers that we developed around my dad’s vintage postcard collection. My mother made the wreath from shells that she collected on the Vineyard. My father, brother, and sister-in-law spent the week before our wedding tying bows, attaching homemade tags, and running to the Edgartown Library for last minute print jobs. Paired with our local vendors, most notably Kristen Leigh Conklin Photography, Atria, Mike Benjamin Band, Big Sky, and Boucle, we knew we were in good hands.

The result of everybody’s hard work was a classic Martha’s Vineyard wedding and a perfect reflection of our relationship. The ceremony was officiated by a friend of Jay’s family. The ambiance was set with acoustic guitar and flute, and a few surprises – buoy bells, a ferry whistle, and dragonflies and swallows, which flew through the ceremony overlook. My grandfather’s vintage Mercedes served as our getaway car (which my dad decorated himself and drove to the Island from Pennsylvania). Our signature cocktail was the “rum demon,” a drink crafted and named by my grandfather. The cornhole sets were built by Jay’s groomsman, who personalized them with our monogram and NFL teams. Atria’s garden swing provided a fun place for kids to blow off energy and for adults to mingle. For dinner, we served New England clam chowder and a plated lobster clambake. After dinner and dancing, the party moved to Atria’s Brick Cellar for more music, sliders with truffle fries, and a photobooth.

Everything about our wedding was perfect and we couldn’t stop soaking it in. On the day after our wedding, we drove the Mercedes back to East Chop Lighthouse for sunset, then back to Atria for burgers. We returned to the lighthouse again on Monday, that time on our bikes. It is truly a magical spot that we will visit for years. To us, the magic of Martha’s Vineyard is unmatched. We were lucky to have a beautiful afternoon in a special place, but most important was marrying each other, with our loved ones by our sides, and confirming what we already felt – we are family.

Milton Wedding at The Milton Hoosic Club from Brea McDonald Photography

Call me a dork, but I get totally excited when I’m introduced to new wedding venues, especially ones right in my neck of the woods. This cute-as-can-be couple knew as soon as they saw all that pretty Boston Ivy, that this would be the place they would say I Do. Brea McDonald Photography captured all the springtime prettiness and you can see it all right here in the full gallery!

Wendy & Brian from Boston Wedding Films on Vimeo.

From the Bride… Our overall design concept was largely inspired by a chance drive-by of what would become our venue. We’d spent ages looking for a reception venue that didn’t feel cookie-cutter; something with quiet elegance and understated grandeur outside of Boston so our out-of-state family wouldn’t have any trouble celebrating with us. Once we saw the social club’s black shutters and its wrought iron terrace covered in thick Boston ivy, we knew we’d found something really special. We didn’t have a color palette until this point, but something about the way the black shutters played off the bright, springy green of the lawn and all that lush ivy just completely inspired the design concept. Spring has always been my favorite season, so nature and the delicate lushness and greens of spring (particularly in the leaves, trees, and grass) were major influences, in addition to the romantic, dreamy illustrations of the book Madeline, and Paris. Black and white stripe is a signature accent favorite of mine that really worked with all the springy greens and soft pinks and creams, so we relied on this in very small doses for things like our cookie favors, our sweetheart table banner swag and the little ivy topiaries we placed on the mantels of the various reception venue rooms.

Our first look was a really emotional moment for us and I think the moments just after the final blessing, when our wonderful officiant Father Tony leaned in close when we both nervously whispered “What do we do next?!” and calmly smiled and told us, “Take as long as you want, then just turn around, and it’s all yours!”

I think it was the small moments alone together on the path under the trees just walking back and forth laughing, or sneaking into the ballroom by ourselves during the cocktail hour, then during dinner to just take a peek at everything else, too. Seeing all the details we’d worked so hard to pull together, that we loved best. Our wedding day was the culmination of months of research and planning and preparing and not only was it visually everything we dreamed of, but we shared a delicious, beautiful first meal as husband and wife with all of our closest loved ones. It was perfect.

Cape Cod Wedding at Wequassett Resort from Lens CAP Productions

It was love at first sight with this gorgeous wedding and the bride’s amazing lace Monique Lhuillier gown. And it just kept getting better from there. Lens CAP Productions captured this fabulously elegant Cape Cod wedding and ya, we’re pretty much obsessed. With pops of coral playing against the blue ocean, it’s all about the pretty eye candy, people. Click here for the full gallery.

From Courtney from Lens CAP Productions… Meredith and Michael had a classy wedding on the Cape complete with the flawless Meredith in a stunning lace Monique Lhuillier and crystal strapped Jimmy’s on her feet. The uber handsome Michael wore a tux with a traditional red rose on his lapel. M&M had an outdoor ceremony overlooking the ocean and a lively daytime reception inside the Wequassett. Their gorgeous day was followed by an amazingly fun evening cabana party, complete with delicious appetizers, a DJ, a cozy firepit and of course plenty of cannonballs into the pool. The groom jumped in the pool (in his tux!) to start the party off right. These two sure know how to have fun in style! The couple and their guests totally lucked out with a warm New England fall day to boot. So sunny and perfect! All in all, it couldn’t have been more gorgeous, classy and fun!

From the Bride…Michael and I met three years ago in Boston’s North End on his best friend’s birthday. We both grew up spending summers on Cape Cod, so when we got engaged it seemed like the perfect place to celebrate old memories and make new ones. When we visited the Wequassett, we knew right away that it was the place we wanted to get married; we spent a night by the fire pit drinking wine – later to be the site of our most excellent pool after party!

Our wedding colors were coral and white, and I chose to keep my color palette very clean and light and give more of a pop of color to my bridesmaids, who wore various silk chiffon dresses from J. Crew. The girls looked gorgeous against the cool colors of the Harwich seascape!

My maid of honor assembled a lot of the details for the wedding, from hurricane vases for the cocktail hour, to the fan programs and the coral table numbers, incorporating this palette. We were already on the Cape so I didn’t want to come on too strongly with a nautical theme; the location is so romantic we just wanted to showcase the venue with some color and sea details. We had an absolutely gorgeous early Fall day, and we couldn’t have asked for a more fun, exciting, and beautiful day with all of our friends and family!
