Can you believe this gorgeous setup is in a backyard? Yes, a BACKYARD. Right? If I didn’t know better, I’d think Jenny Moloney‘s captures of this day took place at a full on wedding venue. But with vendors like Black Bow Events, Anchor & Grace, La Tavola and Forklift Catering, just to name a few—the beauty of this day comes as no surprise. Considering your very own at home fete? Make sure to spend a little extra time in this gallery my friends.

From Black Bow Events… When you think of backyard parties you probably picture picnic tables and checkered table cloths. But with over 200 guests, crystal chandeliers and tables dripping with white flowers, this backyard wedding was anything but typical.

Jen and Scott came to me with just three months to plan their wedding day. They had had a last minute change of heart and instead of eloping away from home, decided to marry in their hometown. The bride and groom grew up just a few miles from each other in Medfield, Massachusetts.

When they first mentioned that the wedding would take place in the bride’s parents’ front yard, I have to admit I was a bit skeptical. But one look at the space and I couldn’t wait to start planning. There was plenty of lawn space to put up a tent large enough to hold 200 guests for dinner and dancing.

The ceremony was held just down the street at the local church that the bride attended growing up. The couple kept the guest list short for the ceremony, inviting just their very closest family and friends to participate.

The evening started with cocktails around the pool. To move the guests over to the tent for dinner, we enticed them across the yard by having the couple make their big entrance during cocktail hour in the bride’s white convertible! Adorned with flowers and a ‘Just Married’ sign, they made the perfect entrance to the sounds of the guests cheering and raising their glasses to the newlyweds. Guests enjoyed various food stations under the tent before the band kicked up the fun.

Jen and Scott and their families were a dream to work with. The bride gave me a few images that she liked and let me run with the rest. The result was an understated and elegant garden wedding using various textures of white and touches of slate blue accented with silver, wood tones, and lush greenery. Jenny Moloney captured it all beautifully!
