Big announcements – we love ‘em. And when we have a little something special up our sleeves, we like to shout it from the rooftops as loud as we can. And today’s oh-so-exciting news? Well, it’s a doozy. Because, not only are we featuring our usual dose of pretty here on SMP California, we’ve joined forces with one of our favorite venues, Viansa Winery, to bring you FIVE FULL DAYS of Sonoma + Napa Valley goodness. I’m talking our very own Wine Country Week starting right here.right now on SMP California. Excited? Yep, we are, too.
Kickin’ off our week of lovely is a drop-dead gorgeous Sonoma wedding that is the perfect example of everything we love about Wine Country weddings. Think awe-inspiring scenery, lush blooms by Poppystone and vines for miles and miles. Andria Lo captured every last moment perfectly - and the classic details, laid-back elegance and natural hues are all kinds of amazing. Ready to dive into a day of pure, unadulterated beauty? Join me in the gallery for SOO much more.

From the Bride… Mike and I met through a mutual friend (Jess) over an impromptu dinner in San Francisco in the fall of 2009. After finding out there was initial attraction, Jess schemed to get us together again. When I saw Mike next, he was wearing a suit with bright striped socks, sipping a martini and holding the book “The Time Traveler’s Wife.” I loved his quirkiness, and I was smitten with the striped socks (he also wore some on our wedding day)! I knew he was the one after our first few dates.
Even though it’s been just under three years since we met, I can’t imagine not being together because we’ve been through so much. I lost my mom to cancer a few months after I met Mike, and my dad passed away from a heart attack the following year. He’s been my partner through all of this, and I’m so happy that we are able to bring each other and our families such joy even though the past three years have been really difficult. We had such a great time at our wedding and and felt surrounded by love from our closest family and friends.
We wanted our wedding to feel relaxed and elegant. Since we live in San Francisco, we liked the idea of a mini weekend getaway to Sonoma. Ramekins was the perfect choice for us because it was already a beautiful venue, and it had such a charming, rustic feel to it. I have been addicted to SMP since before I was engaged, so I was fully prepared when the official planning process began. I knew I wanted simple flower arrangements, and I liked using mostly whites and greens accented by navy. Mike and I are thrilled with how the wedding turned out; it really was the best day of our lives.
