Mod Brunch Inspiration Shoot by White Room Events

September 27th. 2011 by Emilia Jane | Filed Under | 19 comments

I don’t know what it is about Australia but it seems like everything that comes out of there is so fresh and so chic.  Take this awesome brunch inspiration shoot by White Room Events.  I have been a huge fan of their work for quite some time now and it just gets better and better.  This shoot definitely has a sixties flair but it is super modern at the same time with so many fun ideas that could easily be used in a wedding of any style.  I’m crazy about the Protea bouquet, the ribbon runner and the chic color palette.  See all the fabulous details in the full gallery!

From White Room EventsWe hope you love this simple, Australian ‘mod’ wedding brunch, Emily from White Room Events was inspired by 60’s icon Twiggy, a mission to bring back the beehive hairstyle and the idea of a court-house wedding, a cute peach vintage dress with heavily beaded collar found on Etsy was the starting point, from there we wanted to use beautiful king proteas, they are such a gorgeous flower.

Shot by Jennifer Sando at Adelaide’s hippest boutique hotel, The Hotel Richmond, we made use of the stunning art deco windows, set a little intimate table for 6, we used colored ribbon topped with a metallic glitter ribbon as the runner, and to accent the bride and grooms places, blooms by Lotus Flowers filled painted recycled jars, we used natives mixed with roses, dotted with silvery gum nuts. The bouquet was bold and beautiful, a king protea with trailing eucalyptus my favorite bouquet so far. The cake by Sweet Treats stood proudly with a modern asymmetrical style, but with pretty peach and metallic detail, top with a single native bloom.

We styled a very simple waffle station, yum, complete with all the toppings, like blueberry sauce, maple syrup, chocolate chips, and more, all the paper goods were designed and made by the clever Alicia of Akimbo with a mod detail using peach and grey tones. This was so much fun to work on, we hope you enjoy it out aim all along was to keep it simple and sweet.

These colors are fabulous! I too love the bouquet...so unique. And the simple bows on the otherwise plain looking chairs make a huge difference.

The main flower is king protecta. There's also trailing eucalyptus and other native plants that were used. so pretty!

Just a heads up Proteas are in fact the South African nation flower and come from a plant family know as fynbos which is indigeous to South Africa. They are widely cultivated in Australia now.
