White Wedding by Josh McCullock and Gibson Events

May 17th. 2010 by Abby Larson | Filed Under | 23 comments

When I was little, my parents took me to visit my aunt, who happened to live in a perfect apartment right on the Boston Commons. An all white, absolutely perfect apartment right on the Boston Commons. I fell in love. Not with the apartment really, but with the idea of dressing my world in white. And ever since then, that is exactly what I have done. White winter coats, white furniture, white purses, shoes, pants, even white sofas. Gasp. So when I saw this white inspired wedding shoot sent to us by Oklahoma photographer Josh McCullock, with styling and design by Gibson Events, well…I swooned even harder than usual.

Inspiration: Wine glass terrariums, succulents, ferns and a vintage tandem bike

Some of the highlights of this shoot included locally made butcher block cutting board as cake plateau, succulents and ferns in a collection of milk glass compotes, vintage Schwinn tandem bike and custom menus and place cards designed by Kathleen Shannon for Gibson Events. They also had an Italian Soda bar featuring vinyl decal of tandem bike and a custom wedding cake by Sugar.

And if you didn’t think it could get any better…wrong! Here is a film of the shoot so you can really see it all come to life..

Amazing. Gorgeous. I adore all white weddings. They are so ethereal and just plain pretty. Any idea where her dress is from? It would be perfect for my younger sister's casual, picnic wedding.

I love love love the bike on the bar.....is that a fabric cover or a decal? I am marrying a big bike fan!!

Beautiful Beatufil wedding! Thanks for posting!

Thanks for the love! The chandelier was purchased at market, but you could contact Marianne's Rentals for Special events in OKC for more info. The bike on the bar is a vinyl decal made in one day by one of those "quick sign" shops. The total for the large decal 48"x24" and four smaller ones (that are currently on the windows of the Marianne's showroom with the rest of the furniture from the shoot) was only $90! I think it makes a huge impact!

    Cheers!

Also, where did you find all the white vintage pottery that the succulents are planted in?

The flower is silk, it was sourced from JJ Kelly Bridal in OKC, give them a call to find out the manufacturer. The white pottery is milk glass. Its collectible, but very reasonably priced. Antique stores have it, but you'll find plenty at lower prices at garage and estate sales as well as junk shops. Sometimes it looks pretty awful, but a quick soak will have it gleaming again!

I'm so happy I could be a part of this by helping Lindsay out with the menus and placeholders. I've been wanting to use a vintage tandem bike in a custom invitation design for a while now and this was the perfect opportunity. What a gorgeous shoot. Great job to everyone involved. xo!
