Whimsical Blush and Gold Alfresco Wedding

Dreamy beyond compare, these longtime loves spent their special day roaming a quiet landscape barefoot. The result? Absolutely romantic. Surrounded by natural beauty, this outdoor soiree is boho heaven. Complete with flower crowns and blush accents, Michael And Carina captured every sweet DIY’d detail. From the bouquets to the cake, I will be coming back to this gallery time and time again.

From Michael And Carina Photography Rebekah and Derric married on a hill in the countryside of Pennsylvania. Every little detail was inspired by rose and gold colors. It was important for Rebekah to maintain an organic feel throughout the day. Rebekah and Derric’s wedding was unique in every way. It is almost impossible to believe that almost every aspect of this wedding is DIY. The high-school sweethearts poured their heart and soul into making every little detail special. We shot this wedding on medium format film (Contax 645), developed by Richard Photo Lab.

From the Bride… My mom and I have always been thrifty and crafty individuals, So I knew my wedding was going to involve a lot of DIY. Even down to the flowers and napkins. I began dreaming daily on the colors and scheme of the wedding. My inspiration for the wedding came from film, our love, and anything blush pink and the idea that anything can be made beautiful spray-painted gold.

I searched a while for a perfect dress to fit my personality. I still wanted to stay true to myself, a more bohemian feel. But also wanted a wedding dress, I wanted to flow around the dance-floor and the reception. The bridesmaids I knew from the start would be mismatch, I just love that. I wanted them to feel comfortable in it, be affordable, and wanted them to be able to wear it again. Dresses were from all different stores.

Staying true to the theme of the romantic day we had been planning for shoes I knew I would be barefoot most of the day, but I found a pair of blush pink flats I loved, but added a vintage shoe clip to add some more flare. All centerpieces were thrifted and many of them were in horrible colors that we spray painted. Other inspiration came from my love for nature and outdoors. I found a perfect arbor to match my vision, I knew different shades of pink would look perfect on it. Added with my favorite greens eucalyptus. I’ve also been a lover of beautiful calligraphy, and I thought no better way than to have our escort cards written beautifully to set in our also birch wood place-card settings.

I wanted our love, life and laughter to vibrate throughout the day. We have been together since we were young, we couldn’t even drive when we first started dating. We’ve always been crazy passionate about life and each other. I wanted to have a completely passionate wedding, not missing a detail for the day.

It was beyond a dream, and the best day ever. My emotions were flooding with joy all day, I’ve never such a thing it’s so hard to describe. Seeing his face walking down the isle, seeing my dad for the first time, laughing with my girls, and dancing like wild people at the reception. I’ve never seen Derric let loose so much on a dance floor, we literally were just having the time of our life. We’re crazy about life and each other.

I’ve always dreamed of a completely outdoor wedding, ceremony and reception. I was determined to show off all the beauty I had put together under the sun, and the bright bulb lights we had strung through the reception area. My vision was just a beautiful romantic day, and evening. We found the perfect farm tucked back into the rolling hills of New Providence, PA. This is where we laughed, we fell more in love, felt so many emotions and said our promises for forever.

Vintage Chic Philadelphia Fall Wedding

As an advocate for the use of more blues in weddings, I fell head over heels for this cerulean celebration. With various shades of my favorite color used throughout, from the gorgeous florals by Papertini to the super chic bridesmaids’ dresses, this wedding had me taking notes. Grace Winter of Asya Photography captured it all and this gallery has officially made my do not miss list.

From The Bride… Stemming from our simplistic styles and the fact that we are both lovers of all things blue, our wedding concept became a reflection of us. Dubbed “Vintage Glamour,” our wedding day could be described as clean and classic, but with thoughtful details and pops of sparkle. It was important that we stay grounded and true to ourselves, all while remaining respectful of the notion that this day was as much about our family and friends as it was about us.

Although blue is our favorite color, it was not purposeful that our entire wedding party wore navy – we actually worried there wasn’t enough variety and I didn’t want to stand out any more than I already would on my wedding day. What bride doesn’t like being the center of attention? That would be me. The sea of deep navy was rather an afterthought when we decided Patrick looked much better in a navy suit rather than the original charcoal one we had envisioned and the bridesmaids’ dresses were already purchased. Things will happen the way they are supposed to happen, we told ourselves, and it rang true. We couldn’t have been happier about the outcome as the classic dark look allowed for the other subtle details pop in a way they wouldn’t have otherwise.

Being outdoors without the fear of bad weather was an important factor that led to our decision to hold the reception in Kimmel Center’s Hamilton Garden. The beautiful atrium rooftop offered the added benefit city views and overlooks the entire Kimmel Center complex.

The look of the reception room was a beautiful blend of vintage and modern. The antique farm tables, mason jars, and linen runners were the perfect amount of contrast in the contemporary space. The “key to your seat” escort cards inspired our table names. Each table was named after a place that is special to us and explained why it was special. Tying in the purpose of keys unlocking these places, giving our guests a peek into our love story.

Overall, the entire day was very “us” and reflected our everyday lifestyles in way that we felt at home (which also happened to be our first dance song) during one of the most monumental celebrations of our lives.

From The Bride…Michael and I met through mutual friends and we really hit it off, because I work at the Ski Bum [apparel and gear shop] in Newark, Delaware and we both love to snowboard!

I was the one who actually asked Michael out, asking if he wanted to hang out after work one day. I remember being really nervous because I wasn’t sure if it was a date or what we should do – drinks, coffee, dinner? But as soon as he showed up, I was immediately relaxed because he made me laugh right away. Next we found out we both love mexican food and went to Santa Fe [restaurant] right down Main St. [in Newark]. It is still our weekly date night spot!

I knew pretty early on that someday I would marry Michael: we had an immediate connection. It was something I had never experienced before and the way he could make me laugh and how much fun we had- I just knew we were meant to be! We got an apartment together in North East, MD and an awesome rescue dog, Bo-Bo. A year later we bought a townhouse together and obviously needed another dog… not really, but we got one anyway! So we rescued Rusty.

After a long three years of happiness and pestering, Michael proposed on June 2, 2013. It was very sweet; he asked me to go downstairs and get the iPad from the kitchen. When I went to get it, he had left a message on the screen made out of refrigerator magnet letters, asking me to marry him! Then, shyly, Michael and our two goofy dogs awkwardly raced down the stairs, and he got down on one knee! I said yes and was overwhelmed by the gorgeous ring he designed all by himself!

Even before Michael proposed I was wedding planning! Having worked with mkPhoto for a short while and being completely obsessed with all the fun and beautiful details that make up weddings I was just too excited! Since I have some insider experience in weddings, I knew a few things right away: I didn’t want a ‘traditional’ ballroom space, I WANTED snow, I wanted good food and a huge dance party! Also for better or worse Pinterest is a great planning tool and I went to work, pinning and sorting through all the wedding craziness. Loving skiing and snowboarding and ski ‘culture’, I started to plan this party with a ‘winter wonderland’/ski lodge coziness theme. I’m from the Kennett Square area and I went on a hunt for a rustic/ski lodge-y location and found the perfect fit in the Gables of Chadds Ford. They had just created a beautiful outdoor garden space and the party space! It was rustic with exposed wood beams and christmas lights- it was perfect!

Next I set to work on all my DIY.  I was an art major in college and love doing crafts- even when they don’t come out perfect. I knitted the groom and groomsmen’s bow ties and pocket squares, I made all the favors (hot cocoa and marshmallows), I embroidered the Mr. and Mrs. signs and helped make the flag garlands that dressed up the ‘party’ room. As well as all my DIY projects, I had a lace piece of my late grandma’s dress- the same dress she wore to my parents wedding- attached to the back of my dress to honor her. I also wore for some photos and the ceremony my mother’s fur coat that my dad had given her as an engagement present.

I don’t know what the ‘most’ memorable moment of the night was but a few definitely stand out:

– When Michael and I saw each other as my dad was walking me down the aisle- even though we had done a reveal and already seen each other- that was a big moment.
– During the ceremony PJ (my best friend’s little brother and officiant) asked Michael to repeat a line when giving me my ring and Michael tripped over his words which made everyone laugh!
– Seeing my 92-year-old grandmother crying while giving Michael a hug and welcoming him to the family.
– Lastly, but certainly not least, my 16-year-old cousin Sammy dancing in my mom’s fur coat… funniest thing EVER!!

I have to say planning a wedding is way more work then I ever expected and I’m so thankful for all the love and support I received when the day finally came! There were definitely times the stress was so much I wasn’t sure if I would make it! I absolutely chose the best bridal party to keep me calm and the best vendors that helped make everything work and go off without a hitch! I’m so super thankful!

From the beautiful Bride…When we started planning our dream wedding we envisioned a weekend surrounded by our loved ones in a beautiful, serene setting. The hardest part of the journey was finding a venue that was ours, inviting, and could truly set the tone for our vision. The moment we stepped onto the grounds at Sweetwater Farm we knew it was everything we had dreamed of. It painted the perfect canvas for our fall wedding between the barn, the main house and all of the individual details in the rooms. There were even a couple of horses and a sheep to fulfill the rural feel.

We wanted to personalize every part of the wedding, our attempt to reciprocate the love and support that our guests have given us over the years. On the wedding day itself we added special details like placing pictures all around the reception. These pictures were memories of loved ones who had touched our lives along the way but couldn’t be there with us and of family marriages who inspire us daily. We created a romantic and warm feeling by placing small floral arrangements and mason jars filled with candles throughout the wedding venue. The ceremony was topped off with a beautiful chuppah that was draped with a lace top and floral touches. Lastly, we worked with our caterer to find amazing farm tables and mixed china to complete our look. All the hard work and organization made our big day all the more special, concluding with a bang with a final sparkler exit at the end of the wedding night!

The dream of our wedding day transformed into a whole weekend celebration as we filled the bed and breakfast with all of our family and friends for two nights. The day itself was the most picturesque fall day a bride could dream of… November and 65 degrees outside in Pennsylvania! The most memorable part of the my day was walking arm in arm with my mother and father through all of our loved ones and seeing Brian waiting for me under the chuppah. The day was truly a dream come true!

Intimate Winter Wedding at City Hall

I love this duo.  I love that they planned an intimate city hall wedding, with just five of their nearest and dearest on hand to celebrate.  I love that they rushed out into the snow post-nuptials and then headed to a sweet reception at home.  But most of all I love just how very, very happy they seem to be.  It’s a love that brings a smile to your face and you can see it all captured by Tina Jay Photography right here.

From Tina Jay Photography… I had the most delightful time celebrating with Catherine and Luke during their city hall wedding. They contacted me about two weeks before their wedding, and I was so glad I was available! No one besides their immediate family knew they were getting married, so it was such an exciting time! They were married the day before Thanksgiving in 2014. Their wedding was the definition of a winter wonderland – we got the first snow of the season on their wedding day, and everything looked so breathtakingly magical outside. A beautiful blanket of snow covered the area, with the largest, fluffiest snowflakes falling as this sweet couple was wed.

There were only seven people total present (including the bride and groom!), so it was such an intimate, emotional affair. Catherine and Luke had their First Look in her parents’ home, and it was such a beautiful moment. Catherine’s dad played hymns on the guitar during this time, and the most beautiful music flooded the house as they saw each other on their wedding day for the first time. We headed outside into the snow for some portraits, and the photos are some of my favorite that I’ve captured to date!

We headed to the city hall for their wedding, where family members were skyped in to be “present.”  It was a beautiful ceremony, after which we all headed back to Catherine’s parents’ house for some food, cake and champagne. Presents were opened, and dancing in the kitchen commenced! Later, Catherine and Luke exited her parent’s house as husband and wife, to a sparkler exit in the snow. It was one of the most beautiful experiences I’ve been a part of, I was so happy to be there!

Details I loved: Her dress, found at White House Black Market, and her white wool coat, found at Loft. I also loved the red jewelry box she used to hold her rings, it was her grandma’s jewelry box. They decorated her parent’s dining room in the most delightful way, I loved the set up!

Industrial Chic Philadelphia Wedding

All that glitters is gold certainly rings true for this gorgeous Front And Palmer affair captured by M2 Photo. From the ‘maids golden Lovely Bridal Shop gowns to the vivacious blooms by Belovely, every detail had the Midas touch. After scrolling through the gallery it’s evident that industrial chic has a new standard and the film from Lovesick, Inc below is all the proof I need.

From The Bride…We had a little over a year to plan our wedding, but like most girls, I had envisioned our wedding long before the engagement. When it came time to make decisions, we both decided we wanted our wedding to reflect us as a couple and as individuals. We wanted the venue and items that filled it to mirror our home because we wanted to feel comfortable. For that reason we decided that Front and Palmer was the perfect choice for us. Front and Palmer is a romantic and industrial chic setting.

We chose neutrals as our color palate; ivory, white, with gold accents and touches of pink. All that glitters is gold!

Just like our home, we wanted our venue to feel collected. The year leading up to our wedding, we spent several Saturdays at flea markets searching for items to fill the space. We collected over a hundred vintage brass candlesticks to use as centerpieces, we scoured through old frames to hang at our wedding and picked items that had a history to decorate the space.

When we finally saw the room and our vision come to life, I was completely taken back. It exceeded my wildest dreams. It was perfectly us, in every single detail. In that moment, sitting in the room taking in the decor, I knew we picked the perfect venue, and had the most amazing vendors. It all came together perfectly. Pure magic, just like our first dance song!

My bridesmaids wore full length gold dresses. The men wore navy suits with navy blue ties with white polka dots. Their pocket squares were floral pattern and their boutonnieres were white floral pins.

Elegant Summer Wedding at Mendenhall Inn

I’m officially declaring long-sleeved lace gowns my new obsession (thank you Kate for kicking that off). Add in an open back and we have an absolute stunner. This sweet summer celebration had me smiling from picture to picture, from hair and makeup to cake cutting, all captured by Tina Jay, and I doubt you’ll be able to resist grinning from this gallery as well.

From Tina Jay Photography… Anna & Joe had the most lovely summer wedding! I adored the pale pink color scheme, from the bridesmaids dresses, to the florals, to the cake. Their cake topper was delightful as well! But my favorite part of the wedding? Anna’s dress. One of the most gorgeous I have ever seen, and she wore it perfectly! One of the most stunning brides I’ve had the pleasure of working with. Photos were taken at an amazing spot called Longwood Gardens – it was a dream to photograph there! Enjoy the details and the wedding!

Elegant Summer Wedding at Pittsburgh Golf Course

Some weddings make my heart beat a bit faster and this elegant-meets-vintage affair is one of them. From the beautiful florals to more perfect personal touches than I can count, I’m in love with this couple and every inch of their celebration. Palermo Photo captured it all and I dare you to soak up this gallery and not find a smile spreading across your face.

From Palermo Photo… I am so thrilled to share with you this beautiful wedding from this beautiful couple. Kate and Danny were married on August 16, 2014. This Brooklyn-based couple decided to swap the Big Apple for the ‘Burgh to exchange vows in the Bride’s hometown. It was truly a family affair, with sentiment and family ties woven throughout the wedding day. The bride wore two necklaces tucked beneath the intricate lace of her gown – an heirloom necklace from the bride’s grandmother and the groom’s grandmother. The bride also held a lace handkerchief with her bouquet, a Puerto Rican tradition from the groom’s family. Speaking of the groom, he was a beacon of style and class, yet still sentimental and family-focused, donning a vintage YSL tuxedo that belonged to his father.

The sun shone bright on the happy couple as they entered the Pittsburgh Golf Club to share drinks and dances with friends and family, after saying “I do” at the Epiphany Church in downtown Pittsburgh. Fun was had by all, between the tears and hugs of course.

A quick trip back to the beginning: these two smitten kittens met freshman year in college at Fordham University in New York. As these things often go, they were great friends but star-crossed, one was always taken when the other was single, and visa versa, until one fateful moment arrived senior year at Fordham that brought these two lovebirds together. Danny and Kate have been together ever since, and now are happily married!

From The Bride… Danny and I live in New York, but we decided to get married in Pittsburgh, where I grew up and where my parents live. We’re so glad we did! It was so special showing our friends and families a city that we both love. I’m not the kind of bride who relished the idea of spending tons and tons of time planning a wedding, so doing so from another city also allowed us to take a pretty laid back approach to everything. (My mom helped tremendously as well!) I wanted our wedding to have a garden party feel to it, so the Pittsburgh Golf Club, which sits on a golf course in the largest park in the city, was the perfect setting for our reception. The Golf Club and the Church of the Epiphany, where we were married, are both Pittsburgh historic landmarks, so we wanted to the wedding to have a simple, timeless feel. We incorporated a lot of items and traditions from both of our families – I wore necklaces from his grandmother and my grandmother, and my wedding band was my other grandmother’s. I also carried a white lace handkerchief with my bouquet, a tradition from Danny’s family. Aesthetically, I wanted our wedding to have an romantic, floral, classic, sort-of vintage vibe to it. Loose bouquets, white hydrangeas and Queen Anne’s lace with some light pink wax flowers and pops of bright green. Very garden-y, and an (understated) flower crown on me! We just wanted our wedding to be a really fun party, with great music (anything from Beyonce to Al Green to the Talking Heads) and LOTS of dancing because our friends and family are big on dancing. And special thanks goes to our vendors, most especially Maria Palermo, who is not only an amazing photographer but also hilarious and patient and fun.

Romantic Blush Philadelphia Wedding

When it comes to a classic romantic pairing of style and color, ballrooms and blush win our hearts over every time. Case in point? This darling day snapped up by Paul Francis Photography. And when said wedding is chock-full of sweet blooms from Papertini, you can bet we’ll sneaking an extra peek or two at the gallery. See it all here.

From the beautiful Bride…When Bob and I first met, I was new to the Philadelphia area so a lot of our time together was spent with him showing me around all of his most favorite spots in the city. So when it came time to choosing a venue for our wedding, we knew we wanted to be in the heart of the city where we fell in love. Finley Catering’s Ballroom at the Ben was exactly what we were looking for. The high ceilings and warm glow of the uplighting give way to the mezzanine to create such a classic, romantic atmosphere.

The inspiration for the details of our wedding really came from the city. There is a famous park in Center City with a large LOVE statue, which became our theme, appearing on our invitations, cake topper, and ice sculpture. We also used the city skyline on our RSVP card and place cards. The place cards I was able to create myself using a template and paper from Paper Source in Marlton, NJ, but the invitation suite I needed help with. I met with a designer at Paper on Pine in Philadelphia and she was able to create exactly what I had envisioned.

In continuing with our theme of classic, romantic Philadelphia, we asked Paul and Carolyn of Paul Francis Photography to do our first look, couple’s portraits, and bridal party pictures by City Hall and in Old City. It was the perfect balance of beautiful architecture and lush summer greens. On the trolley between locations, Paul reached over to show me a few shots he had taken and I was blown away. I am so happy we trusted him to capture our day. His eye for detail and lighting is unbelievable.

Perhaps one of the best decisions we made while planning our wedding was hiring Tanti at Papertini as our florist. From our very first meeting, she completely understood my vision for classic romanticism using blush pinks, greens, and gold. She sketched out some ideas as we were talking and her enthusiasm as she was drawing and talking was electric. I loved how she turned a simple place card table into a true work of art using small elements of things Bob and I love. What I treasured most about Tanti’s work was our ceremony arch. Upon leaving her office after our first meeting, she asked if there was anything else I could think of so I mentioned that before my grandfather’s passing he had owned a lighting store and lightbulbs always made me think of him. Tanti used inverted lightbulbs as small vessels for hanging flowers from the draped arch above our heads. I couldn’t thank her enough for incorporating them; it was such a beautiful way to have him with us that day.

Lastly, my advice for brides to be, especially those who are feeling overwhelmed like I was in the beginning: hire vendors who are professional, organized, and see your vision. I cannot stress that enough. Everyone was asking how I was able to stay so calm the month of our wedding, and it was because I chose my vendors carefully. I knew that Finley Catering was the utmost professional in the business, and that Paul Francis Photography and Papertini were organized and understood my vision. The only thing you have to do is trust them to see it to fruition. Bob and I both agree if we could do it over, we would not change a single thing.

Classic Elegance at Pomme Restaurant

Admittedly, I’m a little more of a boho girl myself. But you can bet a touch of classic elegance gets my heart a-racing, too. And this traditional fete from Asya Photography is chock full of traditional detailing, from the Bride’s Ines Di Santo from Bridal Reflections to the graceful blooms by Sullivan Owen. Hop on over to the gallery for even more.

From the beautiful Bride…We first met in college, when I visited a high school friend at Princeton, where Dan went to school. When I came to Philadelphia in 2010 for residency, we reconnected when Dan invited me to an engagement party for some of his (now our) close friends.

We decided to buy a house in the spring of 2013, and soon found a townhouse near Fitler Square. We planned on celebrating closing on the house with some champagne on the roof deck. Dan secretly closed on the house a day early to arrange the surprise. I went to the house after work and working out, to find him on the roof deck in a tuxedo, surrounded by flowers, rose petals, and candles. I of course said yes.

We felt elated on our wedding day! We had a great time celebrating with our friends and family, and our guests danced the night away. The ceremony and reception were absolutely beautiful. Our wedding was everything we had dreamed of.

Special Detail — Veil and pearl headpiece were made by my great-great-aunt for my maternal grandmother to wear on her wedding day. My pearl necklace and earrings were given to me by my paternal grandmother, and used to be hers.

All of our rings are from Marchi Jewelry (8th and Walnut). The engagement ring was custom-designed by Mr. Marchiafava and Dan. My wedding band was custom-designed as well to coordinate with the engagement ring.

Industrial, Romantic Pennsylvania Wedding at the Cork Factory Hotel

Brooke Courtney is serving up a wedding today that is so sweet yet so stylish, it will make your heart sing.  It all starts with that gorgeous Hayley Paige gown, and is then quickly followed by an overflow of pretty blooms from Petals With Style and stunning stationery by none other than Rifle Paper Company. Well, right when you think it just couldn’t get better, Cork Factory Hotel hits the ball out of the venue park – making this gallery a show-stopper.

From The Bride…Sarah and Chris Simco were married on a bright crisp Spring day in the Pennsylvania Dutch town of Lancaster. The ceremony and wedding both took place in an immaculately renovated Cork Factory now known as the historical Cork Factory Hotel. The exposed brick and industrial factory accents were complemented by the charcoal bridesmaids dresses, and softened by the feminine white, blush pink, and coral peonies and ranunculus of the bouquets made by Stacia from Petals with Style.

The indoor festoon lighting brought a warm and inviting glow to the already picturesque indoor ballroom of the hotel. The romantic centerpieces were perfectly orchestrated collections of antique vases and candles with flowers ranging from sweet peas, and linzanthius, to astilble, veronica, and white freesia.

The Rifle Paper Company provided chic, yet rustic invitations, place setting cards, table numbers, and a Wedding Certificate for all of the guests to sign adorned with perfectly illustrated versions of the bride and groom. The bride and groom’s specialty cocktails both included the elegant liqueur St Germain from Paris (the couple’s favorite getaway destination); his with an orange twist, and hers with a single raspberry garnish! The photobooth from Smilebooth kept the guests entertained when they weren’t on the dance floor cutting a rug!

To finish the night, the couple’s favorite chocolate company, “eclat” (voted Best Chocolate in America by Bon Appetit), located in West Chester, PA provided chocolate covered caramels that melt in your mouth finished with delicate flakes of sea salt as a wedding favor the guests.

Elegant Philadelphia Greenhouse Wedding

I can’t think of any better way to beat the seasonal blues than a greenhouse wedding in the middle of winter. It’s exactly the route these two Philadelphia lovies went and I, for one, am a major fan. Of course, they couldn’t have pulled it off without Stephen STARR Events by their side, and Love By Serena captured every last bit. Cozy up with your cup o’ joe and head to the full gallery right here.

From Love By SerenaWhen I received Rhae’s e-mail about documenting their big day, I was over the moon with excitement. I first met her through past wedding clients of mine (Sylvie & Charlie), as she was the maid of honor in their wedding. Sylvie was her matron of honor and Charlie officiated their ceremony, so it was awesome to see some familiar faces.

Rhae and Nick are both doctors residing in Philadelphia, PA. Being the fun, laid-back couple that they are, they wanted to reflect that in their wedding. The two of them wanted to have some gorgeous, natural light for their winter wedding – yet wanted to keep warm. That said, The Horticulture Center at Fairmount Park (a beautiful greenhouse) was the perfect spot for their ceremony and reception!

They got ready at the elegant Hyatt at the Bellevue in Philadelphia. The two of them saw each other for the first time on the 19th floor of the hotel (XIX restaurant), with a lovely view of the city. Rhae wore an absolutely stunning Jenny Packham dress.

Bright, Colorful Pennsylvania Wedding at Aldie Mansion

Colorful as all get out and packed with personality, you can’t look at this Aldie Mansion wedding from Lindsay Docherty Photography and not smile. And I’m talking about one of those big, goofy grins. Because this gallery is overflowing with happiness, and you can see just what I mean right here.

From Lindsay Docherty PhotographyGabi and Kristof had so many flourishes for their Aldie Mansion wedding to make it all theirs. So much creativity and musical references.

We started pictures at Gabi’s parents’ house in Doylestown. Gabi, the ever stylish one, donned bright red lipstick and a gorgeous lace sleeved overlay over her wedding gown. I love that sleeves are coming back into fashion and Gabi managed to seamlessly blend several eras into the day. The bride herself was stunningly vintage. The sapphire and diamond bracelet and earrings that she wore fit with her engagement ring perfectly.

The bridesmaids wore deep blue chiffon dresses with bright red patent leather pumps. Gabi had a pair of the same heels herself. Her navy blue petal-fold invitation was also beautiful. It was a trifold with pops of vibrant colors (you’ll see a trend here really soon!).

Gabi (a former journalism major) laid out an awesome wedding newspaper for the guests and also had a fun wedding madlibs floating around.

The weather was fabulous. Right up until about 30 minutes before the ceremony was due to begin. Then one drop. Then two. Then many more. The group made the decision to move the outdoor ceremony up 15 minutes to try to beat the rain.

At fate would have it, the rain stopped as her parents walked Gabi through the front courtyard of the mansion.

A friend officiated the ceremony. The couple is very into music (note the groomsmen’s Jerry Garcia ties). My absolute favorite part was Gabi’s vows to Kristof. The entire thing was lines from songs (see quote at bottom of post). You could hear the realization run through the crowd as they listened.

The Aldie Mansion ballroom was like I had never seen it before. There was color everywhere! Boldly patterned linens adorned every table and each was topped with clusters of flowers grouped in the colors of the rainbow sitting in milkglass containers. It was so bright and happy.

Gabi and Kristof entered to a room full of enthusiastic guests and danced their first dance to “Thank You” by Led Zeppelin. Both were mouthing the words through the song. As you can imagine from this crowd who loves music, the night was a blast. There was much dancing, singing (Gabi can seriously sing!), cigar-smoking, glass-smashing, and all-around having a phenomenal time! It was a fantastic day and I loved being a part of such fun!

Rustic Fall Wedding with Vintage Details

This vintage shindig has a serious way with color and it’s all thanks to Sommerfield Designs. They whipped up bright, orange blooms for the occasion and when paired with vintage details (including the bride’s own dress!) it’s a match made in wedding heaven. Do yourself a favor, and hop to the gallery for so much more.

From The Bride…Radnor Hunt was the very first venue we toured together as we started the wedding planning process. We adored the fox hunt décor inside, and fell in love with the giant tree in the back, which would soon come to be the gorgeous backdrop of our ceremony. I’m a DIY-nut, so I instantly started planning every tiny detail that I could make to fit our simplistic vintage theme. I went to many flea markets and sidewalk sales over the course of 10 months to find the vintage glass bottles and old books for our centerpieces. Our florist totally understood my vision and the tables turned out to be more beautiful than I imagined on the day of the wedding. I made sure to add personal touches to almost every detail, from the seating charts, to the window display and the ‘LOVE’ sign at the entrance to the ceremony. I even enlisted my mom to help, and she made all of the beautiful place cards.

The guys’ outfits were constructed of J. Crew gingham shirts with orange ties. We left it up to them to choose their gray suits, and collectively they all looked so put-together and handsome. My (now) husband even got them all monogrammed tie-bars to complete the look.

The girls’ gray lace dresses were from Nordstrom. I gave them all spoon bracelets that I found on Etsy, which fit in with our theme, and looked stunning with the dresses. The orange floral bouquets were perfect and a great contrast with the grays.

My dress was actually constructed from my own mothers wedding dress. She has said for many years that she kept it preserved for the very reason to hand it down to me for my wedding day. Over the course of the engagement, we took the dress to an amazing seamstress in Lancaster, PA, who changed the dress from an ‘80s gown into my own modern vision. It turned out beautifully and meant so much to my mom as I walked down the aisle in something so dear to her heart. The leftover lace from my mom’s dressed was turned into and used as our sweetheart table’s tablecloth.

With the forecast scattered with rain and cold weather the week before, we wound up having an absolutely perfect early fall day. Abundant sunshine and mid 70s – we couldn’t have asked for a better day to become husband and wife.

I, of course, couldn’t hold back the tears for my long walk down to the tree where my fiancé waited with a big smile. The emotions were overwhelming as 130 of my closest family and friends were waiting for me while our good friend played such graceful acoustic melodies for my walk with my dad. It was the best moment of my life, and thanks to our incredible husband-and-wife photography team, I will never forget it. They captured every single moment that went by so incredibly fast – that I will now remember for a lifetime.

Snowy Winter Wedding In Pennsylvania at the Cork Factory Hotel

This little snowy soiree at the Cork Factory Hotel is so darn lovely, I almost couldn’t believe it was real. It’s as though the perfect amount of snow fell just in time for this couple to say I do, and then stopped just in time for the sun to shine over this couples’ gorgeous day. Caroline Frost was behind the lens to make sure every magical moment was captured beautifully, and you can see them all here.

From Caroline Frost PhotographyThese two Naval officers and their gorgeous snow-covered wedding will make you gush. Plus it was set in Lancaster, such a romantic town with so much lovely red brick everywhere, it was made for a winter wedding! And I just adored their pinecone cake on a wooden “snow-dusted” cake stand.

From The Bride…Alex and I were not originally planning for a small winter wedding. In fact, we thought we were going to have a large garden-party gala in late spring. Since we are both naval officers, some of our closest friends are in the military and in talking with a few of them, we realized three of the groomsmen would not be able to make our originally-scheduled May wedding date because of deployments/training/other military obligations. One of the most important aspects of our wedding day was who we would share it with, so without hesitation, we moved our date up to January. The new date was a little over two months away so we really had to hustle with the planning. (We also changed the location from Long Island, NY (the middle-ground between our hometowns) to Lancaster, PA (where I grew up) for feasibility.

Though we were having some issues deciding on details about the May wedding, events flowed flawlessley once we moved the date up to January, as if it were meant to be. We realized having a cozy, intimate affair was so fitting, so… us. We wanted a rustically elegant celebration and the Cork Factory Hotel, a historic site turned boutique hotel, with it’s antiqued wood floors, cork-lined walls, and picturesque chandeliers was the perfect spot for it.

Though some grooms may not get excited about the details of the day, Alex did. Being quite the literary intellectual, he added his own personal touch to the decorations with naming the tables after book titles by a few of his favorite authors. He went even further by printing first edition covers for the table cards and bringing part of his library along for added adornment.

The last thing we hoped for was something we could not plan for… snow. Our wishes were answered with a few inches falling the day before the ceremony. (Luckily, the accumulation was not significant enough to keep our friends and family away!) The snowfall, in its peaceful beauty made for a magical landscape at the Rock Ford Plantation, the site we chose for our “first look”.

It’s exciting, planning a wedding, and Alex and I had such a fun time doing it. What we didn’t plan for, however, was how much the day would mean to us after it was all over. I find myself reflecting on our wedding more than I would like to admit, and each time, I hold the day’s events closer to my heart. For all the brides and grooms to be- may the outpouring of love on your special day carry with you both for the rest of your lives together… because that’s truly the best part of it all.

From Ahmet ZeElizabeth and Nino are friends of mine who are also photographers. Their wedding took place on Elizabeth’s grandmother’s farm in Chalfont, PA. This wedding had a lot of handmade details; the bouquets, Elizabeth’s head band, to the lighting fixture in the reception that the groom made. There was another lovely surprise from the groom to his bride but I’ll let you read that below.

From The Bride…My husband, Nino, and I were wed at my Grandmom’s farm in Chalfont, PA. This is such a special place to me, as some of my most special and cherished memories all through out my life were here. It is a place that represents so much wonderment and comfort, and having our wedding here was a dream come true. I wore a dried flower crown and my Grandmom’s jewelry. The bouquets and boutonnieres were hand made out of dried wheat, lavender, and baby’s breathe. The dinner tables were draped in vintage crochet and lace linens and lined with mismatched bottles lightly filled with leafy greens and small florals hand picked the day before. Each dinner plate and cloth napkin were different and unique from one another. One of my favorite details was a small vintage step stool which I covered with my Dad’s books and old framed photos of both of my Grandmother’s wedding photos. One of the most special moments of the day was when Nino surprised me during our First Look with my dream car, an old red BMW convertible. He had been secretly restoring it for over a year in a friend’s garage. He even requested that our bridesmaids dresses be red to match my cherry red car. So sneaky! The absolute best part of this day though, was marrying Nino.

From Celebrant Alisa TonggLove Story In the fall of 2010, Robin and Alex were both in the middle of serious life transitions. Alex had just returned home to Massachusetts after living in Las Vegas for a year. Robin had transferred from Berklee College of Music, where she had studied songwriting, to UMass Boston where she was determined to find something to be passionate about.

During this exciting time, they found themselves working right down the street from each other, Robin at Starbucks and Alex at the Apple Store. Alex would come in 3-4 times a day to order a hot chocolate, he’d hang around the bar to chat with Robin during his breaks. After one and half months, and about 100 cups of hot cocoa, Robin told Alex that she was leaving her job. Determined not to let Robin slip away, Alex wasted no time in securing all of Robin’s contact information.

Not long after Alex’s thorough fact finding expedition, they went out on their first date. They call it their first-date-and-a-half, because they spent over 24 hours together. And it was a night of adventure that set them both apart from any other person they had ever met before. They traversed the entire city, saved a strangers life in the T station, met part of Alex’s family, and…fell in love.

Three days after their first official date, Robin was traveling back home here to Pennsylvania to spend the Christmas holiday with her family. Alex felt the urgency to solidify their relationship. There in the bustle of Boston’s South Station, he asked Robin to be his girlfriend. Robin says she couldn’t argue, “Despite my doubts about how we hadn’t known each other for very long, he told me that he thought ‘we should take a leap of faith together, and if things weren’t going well down the road, we would figure it out.’”

Alex and Robin clasped hands and took that leap of faith together. But it wasn’t always easy. Polar opposites in almost every way, Robin and Alex spent a lot of energy in those early days, simultaneously getting to know each other and learning the intricacies of partnership. A few months in, Robin told Alex that she thought they were both meant to be with people more similar. So, they took some time apart.

But Alex refused and went into full wooing mode. Robin says that, “his incredible, seemingly irrational persistence in winning me back, and his commitment to me from literally the first week that we knew each other, is the most comforting and inspiring thing to me…” It wasn’t long before their undeniable attraction for the other and their best friend-like connection put this couple on a serious track. At the end of that year, they were planning their wedding.

Alex says that, “the two most opposite people can make something beautiful work. We work very well being two completely different people.” Over the past three years, side-by-side, they’ve experienced moments of grief and loss, broken bones, the accomplishment of completing graduate school, the challenges of unemployment, the uncertainty that comes with starting out in a career, and the joy that comes from planning their future together. When it came time for Alex to propose, he could hardly contain his excitement. While Robin was at home one day, Alex went to “work” taking the engagement ring on a parade to show it to all of their friends before coming home to surprise Robin. Through it all, Robin says, “that no matter what comes up in our lives, choosing love will always be a constant, it’s made us stronger.”

It’s only fitting that the rings made one more trip around their friends before they exchanged them. Robin and Alex invited their friends to participate in a Ring Warming; their rings were tied together with a piece of ribbon and passed around so that every guest could hold them in their hands and add their best wishes, prayers and hopes for the couple and their marriage. When it came time to exchange their vows, the couple selected promises inspired by the science of relationship psychology.

Perhaps the most moving moment of the ceremony came when the bride surprised her groom and guests with a ceremony serenade. Robin strapped her guitar over her shoulder and performed an emotional and heartfelt rendition of “Can’t Help Falling In Love” while Alex stood enchanted.

Philadelphia Wedding full of Colorful Florals

The colorful arrangements in this Philly wedding are beyond beautiful. Pure Design gives us peonies + garden roses all perfectly placed in shades of peaches + pink for the prettiest bouquets. And the sweet couple only adds to the cute captures by Emily Wren. Skip on over to the gallery to get a glimpse of the gorgeous.

Molly & Craig were married on 4/26/14 at the Power Plant Productions Studio in Old City Philadelphia. Before the ceremony we took pictures in Rittenhouse Square Park in Downtown Philadelphia. Molly grew up in Rittenhouse and the park held a lot of meaning to her and her family. After a few minutes there was a quick rain shower and we took shelter in a near by restaurant, Philadelphia’s Parc. Where we got some stunning vintage shots before heading over to the Power Plant studios for some more pictures and the wedding ceremony. Molly is very close with her family and the whole day was overflowing with love. I felt like as a photographer I could see the love everywhere and I think it comes through in these images.
