Colorful + Preppy Museum Wedding in Oklahoma

From Aubrey Marie PhotographyMarie and Rob chose to get married in Marie’s home state of Oklahoma in the beautiful month of October. However, the two love birds live in South Carolina and Rob’s family is from Mississippi, so they really wanted to incorporate the beauty and charm of the south into their Oklahoma wedding. With the help of Gibson Events, they filled their wedding with lots of southern details, such as a band from Chattanooga, Tennessee and grits as part of their reception dinner.

From the Bride… To be honest, I didn’t have a clear idea of what I wanted for my wedding until I was more than halfway through the planning process. I knew what colors I liked (navy, blush, and gold) and I knew that I wanted the design to be pretty, but comfortable, so my plan was to find a team of vendors that I could trust to do what they thought would work best. Gibson Events helped me coin the term ‘preppy casual’ for my wedding and everyone else helped pull my dream together.

My favorite part of my wedding day was getting to spend 30 minutes with my HUSBAND immediately after our ceremony, before our reception. That quality time was so important to both of us and we are so glad we decided to do that. It gave us a chance to take a deep breath and appreciate the day and each other

Colorful + Emotional Fall Farm Wedding

First looks aren’t for every couple, but there’s something so sweet and special about having that first moment just between you and your beloved. This lucky Bride got not one, but two first looks—one with her father and one with her future husband while all four parents looked on. Surrounded by friends and family and beautiful, rustic décor, this special day was all about celebrating this couple’s love. Experience every special moment captured by Sheradee Hurst Photography in THE VAULT!

From Sheradee Hurst PhotographyThis was one of the most intentional wedding ceremonies I’ve ever photographed. Everything served a purpose, and every detail had a deep meaning. There was no unity candle or sand, instead the couple invited the groom’s grandfather up to say a private prayer with them. It was so touching for over 300 guests to bow their heads and pray for the marriage individually while his grandfather prayed so eloquently that the couple cried.

The groom and groomsmen didn’t wear shoes. The minister spoke during the ceremony of the many instances in the Bible where men remove their shoes when they are on holy ground. He said that this was holy ground, the uniting of two souls in marriage. The bride even took every detail and made it her own. From selecting a bodice and skirt from the same designer to create her own look for her gown to the flowers that she placed on the cake herself. The bride and her dad had a first look, and then all four parents looked on while the couple had their first look. Below are the bride’s comments on why she chose what she did to create a perfectly, lovely day. This wedding photographed so beautifully on film.

From The Bride… From the beginning, Connor and I’s number one priority was that we wanted our wedding to be FUN. We wanted people to have a good time and mean it, not feel the awkward and forced atmosphere that some weddings and receptions can have, we wanted relaxed. We knew we wanted to get married outside in the evening, because we both love and are inspired by nature. I love neutral colors that are found outside, and we really used those to create natural beauty around the party. We both have sort of an eclectic and different style, so we also wanted to incorporate that into the evening, hence the mismatching and random centerpieces of odds and ends we begged for, borrowed, and (maybe) stole from friends and family.

I think our wedding day was special because we really put our hearts into each and every detail. We didn’t obsess over everything of course, but we chose colors and decorations that we liked, and didn’t stress about whether or not they would necessarily go well together. But everything came together so nicely, and I really believe it’s because it was made up of all the things we like.

Connor and I have known each other since we were freshman in high school. We were always present in each other’s lives as friends until the summer after our freshman year of college. We were both home for the summer and began spending a lot of time together. And one day, things between us were just different. It’s like we had always been there for each other and had built this great friendship in preparation for the day when the time was right for us to be more than just friends. Since that summer we’ve spent every day in love. He really is my very best friend and true love.

Pretty + Preppy Autumn Garden Wedding

With a subtle splash of prep (hello, navy and white stripes!) and a whole lot of pretty, this Oklahoma City garden wedding is as fresh as the crisp fall air. From the beautiful, cascading florals and the very adorable pup to the Bride and Groom’s emotional first look and the F. Scott Fitzgerald quote that will make your heart melt, this day from Emily Ann Hughes is the perfect combination of casual elegance and traditional beauty. See it all in THE VAULT!

From Emily Ann Hughes… Teresa and Andrew’s day was absolutely perfect! They had their wedding on a gorgeous fall evening, with the ceremony taking place in a beautiful, intimate garden. They planned so many dreamy details, while still being relaxed and focused on the celebration of their marriage. One of my favorite moments of the day was their first look, which was full of sweet emotions and neither could stop smiling.

Teresa had amazing design and thoughtful details, created by Haleigh with XO Events and Design. She made beautiful, hand lettered signs for the ceremony and reception, as well as stunning place settings and name cards of gold and blue.

The florals by Juniper Designs were to die for. She assembled the perfect, fall color palette with gorgeous autumn blooms. My favorite detail was a canopy of flowers draped over the arbor where Teresa and Andrew said ‘I do.’

Teresa and Andrew are one of the kindest, loving couples I have had the honor of working with. They are an inspiring couple and I am very thankful I was able to be their photographer. Watching them celebrate with all their loved ones was a beautiful event to witness and I couldn’t be happier to have captured this special day for them!

The tablescape was intended to create a feeling of warmth – with details including vintage floral china, family style dining, candlelight – all tied together with gorgeous green garland and blooms in shades of blush, deep pink and ivory. Romantic Blush + Gold Ballroom Wedding in Oklahoma

If you’re a design lover with a flair for pink, then you’ve going to need to bear witness to this beaut. From the lush bouquets bursting with creamy blush blooms, to the sun-drenched shots snapped up by Amanda Watson Photographers, we’ve got every lovely detail waiting in THE VAULT!

[iframe http://player.vimeo.com/video/137668308 600 338]

From Amanda Watson PhotographersJessica is a girly-girl and knew right away she wanted blush and ivory tones throughout her wedding day and those paired perfectly with her Monique Lhullier gown! Matt is a dapper gent so it was only fitting for him to wear a white tuxedo jacket! Beautiful florals and a stunning bridal party are just a few of the picture perfect items in this fabulous country club ballroom wedding!

From the Bride…Matthew and I both grew up in Oklahoma City, but as fate would have it our paths wouldn’t cross until we were in college on the night of his 20th birthday. That night marked the beginning of our extraordinary relationship, one so special and unique that we continually find ourselves incapable of conveying through words. As we set out to plan the wedding, the fundamental question hanging over our heads was “how do you plan an event worthy of celebrating the relationship you cherish most?” From the very beginning we knew we wanted a classic wedding, something simplistically detailed yet elegantly humble. We chose a color scheme that we felt would bring our fairytale wedding to life and capture the complexity of our vision: blush, gold and black.

Despite the fact that we both had moved to Texas after college, large portions our families still call Oklahoma home so being married anywhere else was out of the question. We were married in the beautiful chapel of Crossings Community Church in Oklahoma City. The architecture of the chapel, an elegant stone and wood collaboration provided the perfect venue we had envisioned. For the reception, we chose Gaillardia Country Club (which lucky for us was located only a few minutes away from the church). Gaillardia gave us the elegantly classic theme we had in mind, best characterized by the gold undertones and provocative chandeliers; all the while providing ample space to accommodate our rather extensive guest list. A sprawling patio wrapped the back of the venue that overlooked the golf course, providing a nice change of pace for our guests to catch their breath from dancing. The planners and staff of Gaillardia did such an amazing job coordinating our reception!

For the flowers, we chose plush white peonies and ranunculus highlighted with beautiful blush roses filled with lush greens. I wanted the bouquets and centerpieces to be very loose and free falling. We used a fun, gold sequin table cloth for our cake table, gold accents for décor and gold chiavari chairs for the banquet tables that absolutely brought everything together. Perhaps one of my absolute favorite moments of the entire planning process was designing our wedding cakes. Feeling like the standard cake just wouldn’t do it; I envisioned three cakes instead of one, which Amy Cakes of Oklahoma City magically brought to life. The cakes were wrapped in gold ribbon with blush and white frosting, with one displaying a blush, frilly texture that was so adorable! Amy Cakes truly made my vision come to life with these three, amazingly perfect cakes! They were able to make something so artistically complex and yet still taste so incredible!

For the attire, we obviously wanted to stay very classic, clean and elegant. For our bridesmaids, I chose a faint blush, long, and flowy dress made by Allure bridals. The dress had a darling look to it with fun tool and appealing straps which allowed you to tie up around the shoulders and tied a bow in the back.

As for the groomsmen, we kept it classic with black tuxes. As for my dress, it had long been a dream of mine to wear a Monique Lhuillier on my wedding day. As other brides before me can attest, sometimes you feel like the dresses you “pin” on Pinterest are exciting rendezvous’ from reality, hardly representative of anything you will be actually be fortunate enough to find in your budget and perhaps most importantly…..in time for your wedding. After a multiple day search in many wedding boutiques in Dallas, Texas, I finally found the dress of my dreams. The Monique Lhuillier gown I chose was a fitted lace bodice, mermaid style with lace appliques on the bottom tool and wrapped in the most gorgeous white horse hair trim. The Monique veil absolutely made the dress and wrapped around my body like a glove. As for my handsome groom, he felt he wanted something more unique than the traditional black tux….something that captured his personality. He brought up the idea of wearing a white dinner jacket, and I fell in love with the look instantly. He ultimately chose a Ted Baker dinner jacket which looked stunning together with my dress. Our mother’s, both of which are always the life of the party, wore gold, sequined dresses. My mother’s dress, along with jewelry, was from BHLDN in Houston.

Matthew’s only request for the wedding was not to have a “first look”. It was truly the best decision we made for our wedding. Walking down the aisle and seeing him for the first time was the most magical feeling and the best moment of my life! The reception was full of love, laughter and our favorite people in the world. It was so romantic, lovely and not to mention a blast! Everyone danced the night away, which was my only request for the evening! We wanted our guests to have fun at our wedding. And as for Matthew and I, the night was complete wedded bliss. After being sent off by sparklers and our loved ones, we got in the limo pinching ourselves on what an incredible night it was and how truly blessed we felt. Our wedding was a fairytale and we are so thankful for all who made it happen!

Our photographer Amanda Watson did absolutely amazing – from our engagements, my bridals (and again a dream) with a Clydesdale horse and of course our wedding pictures, we now have the most incredible photos from the best day of our lives. Our wedding coordinator, Leslie Herring and her staff did such a phenomenal job and could not have done it without her! Amy Cakes is simply the best baker in Oklahoma City, making my vision and the cakes come to life. We had the best people working for us!

Romantic Oklahoma Ballroom Wedding

This beautiful Bride picked out a unique perfume as a teen, vowing to wear it on her wedding. Fast forward a few years, the bottle had broken, dashing hopes to spritz it on her special day. She meets a handsome gentlemen and agrees to a date on her birthday, where he presents her with an interesting gift, and well, let’s just say the rest is magic. PenWeddings not only captured their love story but their celebration as well, with Candi Coffman snapping away and The Fleuriste covering the Gaillardia in blooms. Watch the video below and I dare you to admit you don’t believe in fate after this fairytale.

From PenWeddings… If you know me at all, you know I have a tendency to talk…a lot. Welllll, Nishay may have me beat. And I love it! ;)

The first time we met Nishay and Anthony it was so much fun listening to her (them, but really her haha) tell the stories of how they met and how he proposed, but our favorite was the story of how Nishay knew Anthony was the one. Not wanting to ruin a friendship, she wouldn’t date him right away. But she eventually gave in, and that decision led to a wonderful relationship and this wonderful day. It was sweet, beautiful, emotional, and the dance floor was packed all night. We hope you enjoy their wedding as much as we did!

Glamorous Spring Oklahoma City Wedding

When you have two cuties that radiate such fun, fabulous vibes on their own, when combined, the energy is absolutely electric. And Randy Coleman and Dewberry Cinema captured that spark in every pic snapped and every second filmed. With their shining smiles – and one fabulous floral arch – this is one of those Vault galleries that’s an automatic mood-lifter!

[iframe http://player.vimeo.com/video/130885644 600 338]

From the Bride… Matt and I wanted our big day to be a reflection of our wacky, creative, and fun personalities, as well as be a symbol of our love and commitment to each other.

We worked for 14 months with our wedding planner, Allyson VinZant, and couldn’t be more pleased with how everything turned out. Allyson is the angel of wedding planning. She knew exactly what we wanted, even without us saying it. We are so grateful for her help and creativity, and relentlessly cheerful spirit.

We got married on the rainiest day of 2015, but that didn’t stop us from enjoying every minute of our perfect wedding. Some even say that it’s good luck! If that’s true….we should have PLENTY of luck stored up.

The day started with the ceremony being moved indoors of the Gaylord Pickens Oklahoma Heritage Museum. Guests were escorted by our groomsmen carrying umbrellas to the 3rd floor, which was beautifully appointed with a gorgeous floral arch by Tony Foss Flowers. Initially, I had been pretty disappointed by the rain, but if one thing is true about weddings, it’s that on the big day, literally nothing else matters except the fact that you are getting married to the person you love. That silly rain didn’t even get a second thought.

Not only did Tony Foss put together a show stopper of an arch, my bouquet was literally dripping with pearls and gold beads, and was adorned with Matt’s great great grandmothers brooch. Our aisle had beautiful flowers and sashes, and our bridal party had the most incredible boutonnieres and bouquets.

To make our ceremony space more “us” I added special touches like including photos of our grandparents on their wedding days, and had our classical string quartet play only contemporary music.

One of my best friends, Lauren, officiated our ceremony which was really special to us. And two of the my high school girlfriends did a unique reading – quotes about love from our favorite movies. We also included a ring warming in our ceremony. Our rings were passed to every person who attended the wedding, so that they could bestow a special wish or prayer upon them.

Our reception was held at my parents “office” – a 1920’s warehouse near Historic Film Row in Downtown OKC. My parents own a sign manufacturing shop, so we got to have a lot of fun customizing the space to fit the wedding. Their J&B Graphics sign was swapped out for one that said “Bob’s Speakeasy” – named after my dad, and they created a huge custom banner to hang behind our band that had our initials on it. They even made vinyl graphics that matched our wedding invitations to cover the front of our illuminated bars.

Guests were greeted by In10City Entertainment already playing the roof off the house and an extravagant candy bar by 42nd Street Candy Company.

We kicked off our reception with a first dance, which Matt and I practiced for almost a year, a foxtrot to Lady Gaga and Tony Bennetts “I Can’t Give You Anything But Love,” choreographed by our friend and dance teacher Amy Lawrence.

Guests were served an expansive buffet from Cheevers Catering, which included carving stations, a mac n’ cheese bar, and a custom s’mores station.

Mood Party Rentals turned our warehouse into a lavish, glittery palace. A crystal curtain dripped across the width of the room, sequin table runners, and gold chivari chairs glittered in the uplighting, and a cozy set of lounge furniture lined the dance floor.

To this day I am still having issues picking just 60 photos for my wedding album. Randy Coleman Photography is truly a master. And Dewberry Cinema put together an absolute tear jerker of a wedding video.

It was the party that no one wanted to end, least of all us. Our wedding was a night that we will absolutely never forget. It was so much fun, so filled with love, and the epitome of perfect. Matthew and I want to thank all of our family and friends who showed up – with the rain, to wish us luck, bring us their love, and share in our big day.

Lovely Lavender Wedding Inspiration

Sometimes, all it takes is a gorgeous color palette to set your theme. And more often than not, that very color palette can simply come from the world around you. Like this lavender inspired celebration, crafted by Tony Foss Florals, Aisle Be With You and Sheradee Hurst Photography, that captures the innate beauty of mother nature. Click here for so much more!

[iframe http://player.vimeo.com/video/125071017 600 338]

From Sheradee Hurst Photography and Ariana Simms of Aisle Be With YouThrough the beauty of nature arises a lavender inspired shoot. When designing this inspiration shoot, putting together a team of talented and creative artists was key in capturing our vision of using nature as the perfect canvas for a wedding day.

The natural light peeking through the intertwined trees and the serenity of the water influenced the vision behind this shoot. Different hues of lavender and green are seen throughout to compliment the earth tones in its surroundings. The idea behind this shoot is a walk down memory lane for the bride on her wedding day. As you transition from different vignettes, memories from her wedding day are shared.

Vintage pieces such as the gorgeous settee, end table, and chandelier from Jam Events and Productions, were chosen to add charm and romance to the setting. With nature being one of our main elements to the design, it was vital that the gown and the bridesmaid dresses had plenty of movement and fluidity. This was top on our wardrobe priority list. There is always something magical about seeing a dress sway in the wind! The day of the shoot, like most days in Oklahoma, we had plenty of wind. Watching the bride’s gown from the talented designer, Allure, and the bridesmaids’ dresses from designer, Bill Levkoff flow in the breeze gave motion to the design. An aqua colored jewel was selected for the wedding ring from BC Clark Jewelers as a dual purpose. We chose the aqua stone to tie in with the water scene of the wedding, and to add a new take on the something blue.

Gorgeous, lush florals designed by Tony Foss Flowers, are seen throughout the vignettes. The stunning bridal bouquet incorporates the popular king protea flowers to add drama along with some classic favorites, and hung above the boardwalk across the pond, a picturesque swing covered in greenery and roses.

The powerful floral became the blueprint for stationery by Touie’s Design. The soft color palette with the shades of pink, purple, and green were beautifully arranged to create a pattern that would later influence our detailed cake design, too. The watercolor style of the floral on the stationery would translate into an intricate part of the hand painted layer of the cake. As the top gold layer sparkled in the sun, your eyes move down to the intricate watercolor floral pattern hand painted by Mishelle Handy. The greenery that was placed around the cake base, not only ties in the landscaping around it, but also helps make the cake stand out even more. The lilac floral atop is the perfect pop of color. Placing the cake in the water was a natural choice as the illusion of a floating cake created a tranquil added touch, while drawing in the water to the overall design.

The log bench and wood table showcase a rustic style, but the ghost chairs were used to marry it with a modern style. The gorgeous calligraphy cut out signs behind the bride and groom seats are a modern taken on the traditional “Mr.” and “Mrs.” signs. The vintage style is seen throughout the place setting arrangements that were selected from Vintage Tabletop Rentals, to incorporate the romantic and timeless moment in the Bride’s life.

Song of Soloman 3:4 was the inspiration for the dessert bar. We wanted to show bride’s an easy DIY, new take on an old piece by reviving a vanity and bringing it to life. The bride’s something old can be beautifully transformed into their something new with this piece. The mirrored segment of the vanity was painted with chalk paint, and calligraphy by Sooner Calligraphy. Mishelle Handy Cakes showcased dessert items each on its own platform to highlight the detailed dessert art. Tony Foss Flowers filled drawers with florals once again weaving the lavender theme through each piece.

Sheradee Hurst Photography and Aisle Be With You wedding planning chose to photograph this shoot using film to compliment the colors chosen and to show bride’s the richness that film photography provides. Like the vanity, something considered old is once again becoming something new as film photography is becoming more popular with brides. Dewberry Cinema caught the joyful essence of the shoot at every turn of the walk through this Lavender Love Story.

Traditional Oklahoma City Navy and Gold Wedding

From the romantic invitations to the striped ribbon on the brides bouquet, you’ll want to catch every dazzling moment here.

From the beautiful Bride… Micah grew up attending the church where my grandfather was the music minister for almost two decades. I remember coming to visit in the third grade and seeing Micah sit several pews in front of me. I leaned over and whispered to my little sister that he was the cutest boy I’d ever seen. Thanks to the Lord’s perfect plan, we reconnected and started dating the summer before I started college. The rest is history.

When we started planning our wedding, we knew that one of our biggest priorities was to hire a top-notch planner. Oklahoma City has an incredible field of planners, but after interviewing Leslie of Leslie Herring Events, we knew we had found a perfect fit. She leads with poise and grace and has an impeccable eye for design. Throughout our planning process, she led us to an all-star team of vendors, without whom we would have never been able to create our absolutely dreamy day.

I had been a fan of Amanda Watson Photography for years after seeing her work in several nationwide publications. We knew that we wanted to splurge on photography, and we are so grateful we did! Every encounter I had with Amanda left me even more impressed with her not just as a photographer, but also as a person. She has an innate ability to make everyone around her feel completely comfortable and beautiful. Her breathtaking photos have been the biggest blessing – what a treasure it has been to be able to relive our favorite day over and over again!

We focused on creating a cohesive storyline for our wedding by incorporating our overall style in several of our elements. Everything – our cake, our gold and navy-and-white striped color scheme and even my dress further reinforced our style, which Leslie so pointedly defined as, “crisp, yet approachable Southern sophistication with a dash of sparkle.”

I am a serial monogrammer, so I knew that it would be so special to have something created with our new initials that we could debut at our wedding and use for years to come. We commissioned a custom monogram through Allison Banks Designs that was present in many of our wedding and reception elements such as our ceremony programs, custom bar cups, thank you notes at the each place setting and even the cake. Now we are looking for ways to incorporate our monogram in design elements in our home.

Our guestbook was a large wooden letter P – the first letter of our last name. Our guests signed the letter, which is now hanging in our living room. Now when people visit us in our new home they love to look for their name!

One of my favorite elements of our wedding was our invitation suite. I designed each piece from start-to-finish so Micah and I were able to completely customize everything to fit our style. I designed all of our paper and had them printed through a local printing shop, which was a great way to cut costs. I also hand-lettered all of our save-the-dates, invitations and escort cards. While tackling the calligraphy myself was a tall task, it turned out to be a great stress reliever as we got into the hectic last few months before the wedding.

We are both very close with our families and wanted to be intentional about involving them in different ways throughout our wedding day. Both my paternal and maternal grandparents read scripture during our ceremony, and I wore my Grammy’s 48-year-old veil . Micah’s grandfather married us, which was incredibly special. After we were announced as Mr. and Mrs. Praytor, we walked down the aisle to my grandpa leading the congregation in a chorus of “To God Be the Glory.” It was a moment of pure joy and a feeling I hope to never forget.

With our families scattered across the country, Micah and I knew what a blessing it was to have everyone under the same roof. Between visiting with our guests, tearing up the dance floor and eating way too much cake, neither one of us sat down the entire evening. We left our reception in Micah’s 1966 Ford Mustang and couldn’t stop talking about all the fun we had.

When people ask me how my wedding was, I tell them it was the most fun day of my entire life – and it was! Thanks to a rock star team of vendors, we were able to enjoy every moment of our wedding day surrounded by our best friends and entire family. We truly couldn’t have asked for anything more.

Traditional + Romantic Oklahoma Springtime Soiree

Here’s a tradition we think every bride can get behind: the bouquet presentation. Just before this gorgeous couple exchanged vows, the bride and groom met outside the church (she was hidden by a column!) where he handed her a beautiful bouquet from The Fleuriste, symbolizing the last gift before marriage. If that doesn’t have you saying, “Aw,” take a look at all the sweet moments captured by Candi Coffman Photography and PenWeddings in the gallery.

From The FleuristeAbbey has such a sweet smile an undeniable sense of style, we knew from the moment we met her we were going to get along famously. We joined forces with the talented Wedding Belle and other amazing vendors to make Abbey’s vision come to life.

Florals in cream and blush hues accented by soft lighting set the tone for romance in the back yard of the bride’s childhood home. Did I mention she lived on a horse farm? With horses roaming the gorgeous landscape of the estate you couldn’t ask for a more enchanting venue.

The day started off with a chance of rain which teased light drizzles as we were setting up, but held off for a beautiful June evening! Bistro lights guided guests down to the lawn where vintage doors were suspended horizontally from the trees and created floating cocktail tables. The “floating tables” featured stunning florals including Phalaeneopis Orchids, Garden Roses and Peonies.

Mini potted succulents featuring guest’s name and table number doubled as escort cards and party favors. Sandblasted ghost wood adorned with flowers accented the escort card “succulent table”

The guests later moved inside a tent for dinner and dancing (and believe me when I say these folks danced the night away.) The ambiance was set with a huge crystal chandelier and bistro lighting. The beautiful floral centerpieces included Peonies, Roses, Hydrangeas, Lambs Ear, Dahlias, and Tulips.

The bride was all about the traditions for her wedding. One of the sweetest traditions the couple followed was the presentation of the brides bouquet. According to tradition, the groom would wait outside the church and hand the bride her bouquet when she’s arrived, this symbolizing the last gift from the groom as her boyfriend..With that in mind, Separated by a column to ensure they would not see each other, Abbey and Hunter met so Hunter could present the bride with her bouquet of Garden Roses, Ranunculus, Peonies in breathtaking white and blush tones. An heirloom bible was attached at the stems and accented with silk and lace ribbons.

When it came to tossing the bouquet, everyone was in for a surprise. The toss bouquet was created to burst into several petite bouquets once tossed into the air; this way all the single ladies would each go home with their own lucky bouquet.

From Pen Weddings… The story is what makes this film and photo submission so special. Sami and Joe were trying to plan a small, family wedding… but even that was proving to be difficult since they couldn’t find a date when all of their immediate family could attend. They put planning “on hold”… but when an opportunity presented itself, Sami’s mom Susan had the idea to plan the wedding and surprise Sami with it. She made sure Joe was in agreement, and along with the help of family, planner Lindsay Gibson, and other wedding pros, they pulled off an unforgettable event.

Naturally Elegant Midwestern Wedding

Weddings are filled with once in a lifetime emotions, and this affair captured by Brett Heidebrecht is no exception. Kylie Swanson designed an effortlessly elegant day overflowing with natural textures, from the Bride’s Jim Hjelm gown, to the ribbon tied Birdie Blooms, this Midwestern soiree is tactile perfection. One look at this gallery and already I’m counting down the minutes until my very on “I Do”.

From the beautiful Bride… I think I would have to say that the vision I had for our wedding day was elegant but natural. I am a sucker for textures, so I really tried to tie that in with every aspect of my design. From my wedding dress, to the florals, to the bridesmaids dresses, and the tapestries. It all turned out even better than I could have imagined. With the help of the styling direction from Kylie Swanson and the amazing eye of birdie florals it all tied together and Brett captured it all elegantly with his keen eye for simplicity and lighting.

The day was filled with so much raw and once in a lifetime emotion. From the moment I read a letter from my future husband the emotions sprung out. Moments such as my Mom zipping up my wedding dress and seeing my Dad give his baby away and allowing someone else fill his shoes were some that boldly are displayed in my memory of that day. Seeing my husband Brett for the first time on our wedding day was the best of them all and it was even better when I became his wife. Moments like those are ones you want to keep forever and Brett’s photographs captured them perfectly and also will allow me to have small glimpses into those precious memories for the rest of my life.

Travel Themed Outdoor Engagement

I adore a good love story, and this one reads like a rom-com brought to life. After locking eyes these two lovebirds began a long distance romance that traversed the globe. Incorporating their love for travel this e-sesh wows with a stunning backdrop and a vintage plane to boot, and Bcreative Tulsa was there to capture every spark. Let their whirlwind romance carry you away here.

From Bcreative TulsaDave and Loree have far from the traditional love story – instead it feels like something of a rom-com come to life. Loree, a Tulsa native, worked at a software company in Boston, MA when she met Dave, a Dublin native, working at the same company’s Ireland office. Like something out of a movie, they first met while Dave was over for training and Loree walked into the room. Cue the romantic music: but when their eyes locked – both felt an instant electricity.

After a few dates in Boston, countless conversations, and a surprise Tiffany necklace for Loree’s birthday – their feelings for each other were not only becoming undeniable, but their futures were becoming intertwined. They traversed the globe back and forth to be with one another in the months following – and on a particular vacation to Italy in the Spring, Dave proposed and Loree happily accepted. They spent the week traveling around Rome and seeing the sights, happily in love, before returning home and celebrating with their families.

Because Dave and Loree’s relationship has been so based on travel – and they happened to have access to a vintage plane – they decided to do a travel-themed engagement shoot. Giving tribute to their traveling lifestyle was a great reflection of their history, and a great foreshadowing onto their adventures to come as well. Their wedding will be at Tulsa Garden Center in December of this year – in which they will welcome guests from all over the US and Ireland. They are looking forward to combining their families and cultures into an exciting new adventure, and celebrating their first Christmas together as a new couple.

Classic Wedding by Christina Leigh Events

Take it from this bride, a great wedding is one where the newlyweds can relax and have fun. I can only assume that was thanks in part to the perfect planning of Christina Leigh Events. As for the other parts? Like the classic florals and lace back gown? The French Bouquet and Claire Pettibone can take credit there. Check out ALL the reasons why this is one for the blogs in a gallery by Ely Fair Photography.

From the Bride… When Jody and I started talking about our wedding the only thing we were sure of was that we wanted it to be fun. Realizing that this was probably the only time that everyone we loved from all aspects of our lives would be with us in the same room, we were determined to enjoy our wedding. Things were also pretty hectic leading up to the wedding, we graduated law school, moved to Tulsa, adopted a puppy, took the bar exam, and found jobs. By the time our wedding came we were ready to celebrate and relax!

Our ceremony was simple, but incorporated things that were important to both of us. I had asked a close family friend to marry me long before I met Jody, so having him preform the ceremony was really special. Jody’s brother went to juliard and is an amazing singer, so having him sing at the wedding was both sentimental and amazing. We also asked our pianist to play songs were special to each of us instead of traditional aisle music.

Our reception came together better than what I had dreamed up. The tables and chairs were dressed in the linens my grandmother made and the flowers by the French bouquet pulled the little details together. After seeing all the little details come together, there was nothing left to do but enjoy our being with our loved ones and dance the night away. During the last song, Jody picked me up and spun me around the dance floor. We were not ready for the night to end! The night was a total success because we were able to relax and truly enjoy our wedding.”

From Leslie Herring EventsWhen meeting Scott and Christine, it’s apparent that they behold a one-of-a-kind, lasting relationship. Through the entire planning process, they never lost focus of the significance of their wedding—each other. We knew that their genuine friendship and personalities had to shine through in every aspect of their wedding, and we constantly swoon over the gorgeous memories captured by Brett Heidebrecht Photography. The Oklahoma History Center’s natural light was the ideal venue for the couple’s simplistic, yet sophisticated reception. We began planning around the neutral, earth-toned color palette and added metallic accents. Blends of ivory, white and slate paired perfectly with the bridesmaids’ blush gowns and groomsmen’ navy suits. Thoughtful floral concepts by Juniper Design added a whimsical flair, using friendly anemones, dahlias, peonies and an assortment of greenery. Romantic, amber uplighting by Innovative Event Solutions paired with festive marquee lights set the mood for the evening. Thanks to Glorious Day Films, we can relive this magical evening over and over again.
