Crisp White + Peach and Pink Summer Wedding at Appleford Estate

When we open up wedding submissions, we’re always prepared to see something pretty. We’re alway ready to see happy couples, delightful decor and venues that we’d book for our very own weddings. On the very best of days, though, we open a set of images that puts an enormous grin on our faces from start to finish. This gallery ~ captured by Emily Wren Photography ~ did just that. Aly and Tor’s summer wedding at Appleford Estate isn’t just full of pretty… it’s also loaded with all kinds of joy. The excitement shines through on each and every image. An almost tangible love that deserves to be shared! These days are are the best. Oh… and if your a pup lover, don’t miss their giant of a pup, “Bear”.

More from Emily WrenAly & Tor’s Appleford Estate wedding was filled with lovely moments and personal touches. Elements in cloud grays, sweet pinks, and crisp whites appeared delicate and timeless set against the venue’s lush greenery. Aly’s bridesmaid, Steph, is the boss-babe behind Stephanie B Design and she custom-designed the entire wedding stationery suite, welcome sign, escort cards, and table numbers, adding a layer of personal significance to some seriously elegant pieces! The welcome sign and the invite featured her own watercolor painting of the venue and that graceful lilting script, paired with handsomely debossed silver-gray velvet was so chic!

The bride wore an intricately embellished Berta gown that looked as if it had been plucked from the pages of a fairytale. Paired with soft glowing makeup and a polished chignon that ONLO styled, Aly’s natural beauty was allowed to shine. Throughout the venue, Fresh Designs Flora & Events‘ arrangements of dreamy pink blooms and hanging greenery installations really added to the ethereal feel of the day. The bridesmaids wore fluid, floor-length, pale peach chiffon dresses and the groomsmen wore crisp, oxford-navy suits paired with handsome silver ties.

The ceremony took place beneath a stunning floral arch, set at the water’s edge. Aly and Tor’s handsome pup, Bear, was dressed for the occasion in a dashing collar of greenery. He looked so proud walking down the aisle for the ceremony– clearly he was excited to see his parents tie the knot!

Following the ceremony, guests were treated to a gorgeous summer supper on the estate’s terrace.

As the sun set, Aly & Tor danced into the night surrounded by their friends and loved ones. Truly a picture-perfect summer wedding!

Classic Appleford Estate Wedding

You know what’s absolutely perfect?  This wedding.  This classic meets elegant Appleford Estate affair brimming with some of the prettiest details you have ever seen.  Think lush, romantic florals from Wild Stems, a luxe burgundy and gold color palette and a seriously fun reception that is basically everything. See it all captured beautifully by Asya Photography in THE VAULT right this way.

From The Bride… My husband and I live in California, but his family is from Pennsylvania, so we wanted to have our wedding there. The ceremony took place in the chapel at Malvern Prep, where he went to school. The priest knew him very well, so the ceremony was very personal to us. We wanted our wedding to feel very classic and elegant.

We chose Appleford, because of the intimate setting and we liked the idea that our wedding could be at a family member’s estate! The guests were free to wander around the beautiful manicured grounds. I brought personal items for the reception, old family photos and things, and for us to wear. I sewed a patch with my late father’s initials into my dress to remember him and share the day with him.

Our bridal party was a mix of old and new friends and we were a rowdy bunch. My bridesmaids wore burgundy dresses, I thought the color would look amazing against the greenery at Appleford. The groomsmen wore classic tuxedos. Our flowers were by Leaves of Grass, and she was AMAZING. She really listened to me and I think the decor for the reception was just stunning. She’s a true artist and works so hard on the day of to make the most beautiful floral designs.

Intimate Villanova University Wedding

Having met my fiance at university, this story of two Villanova grads who met at school warms my heart. The two married at Villanova’s chapel by none other than the president of the university! This beautiful blush wedding captured by Krista Jones is full of Croatian traditions like rosemary sprigs and ribbon dancing is full of love, happiness, and so much more. See more in THE VAULT!

From The Bride…We met at Villanova as undergrads so we knew that the St. Thomas of Villanova chapel on campus was the only place we could envision saying I do! We were lucky enough that the president of the university agreed to say our wedding mass which made it extra special for us and all of our fellow alumni in attendance. We hand made and calligraphed our invitations, including the save-the-dates which featured a custom oil painting of our church created by the groom’s artist aunt as a special wedding gift. We had the reception at the Duportail House, a gorgeous revolutionary war mansion in Valley Forge, which served as the inspiration for the french countryside decor complete with arrangements of gardens roses and dahlias in silver compotes, along with romantic candelabras.

From Krista A. Jones… The bride’s family is Croatian, so we incorporated many Croatian traditions from homemade rose liquors, to Croatian folk music during dinner, and of course, the pinning of rosemary sprigs with red, white, and blue ribbons to the lapels of all 50 of our guests for good luck! We also served a Wall Street themed cocktail list as both the groom and bride were former investment bankers. The day was made extra special by the fact that it was also the groom’s parents 34th wedding anniversary!

Elegant Summer Wedding at Overbrook Country Club

Can we all agree that we’re obsessed with that Chihuahua with a bow tie? There’s plenty more fun and personal touches to be found in this summer wedding at the Overbrook Golf Club in Villanova, Pennysylvania, including the sweetest butterfly theme in the bouquet and cake! The talented mkPhotography captured all the details, which you can see in the full gallery right here.

From the beautiful Bride… My husband and I are happy people. We love to laugh, we love to spend time with family and friends, and we live each day with a focus on having fun together. Everything about our wedding day reflected our joyful outlook on life and the joyful love that we share. We met through a family member who knew we would be a perfect match, and she couldn’t have been more right. Our attraction was instant and our love grew quickly and deeply. We dated for four years until he surprised me with a proposal before our annual Christmas party with all of our closest friends. From that moment, the magical ride that started when we met became even more exciting.

We were lucky to have my mom as our unofficial wedding planner. She has a keen artistic eye and she helped us make all the right decisions to ensure a gorgeous wedding day. We chose St. Agnes Church in West Chester, PA for the ceremony, and it was a family affair as my dad was instrumental in planning the music and mass program, and my cousin lent us her beautiful voice to sing the hymns. The church’s soaring Gothic arches and illuminated stained glass struck us with awe as we spoke the traditional and sacred vows, all the while hearing the trumpet and organ triumphantly resound and my cousin’s heavenly voice ring through our ears and touch our hearts.

Our reception was at Overbrook Golf Club in Villanova, PA, which was the perfect venue for our romantic country wedding with a lush and verdant landscape, rolling hills, and brightly colored flowers adorning every corner. The beautiful weather that day was truly a blessing and our guests enjoyed the cocktail hour outside on the terrace under a clear blue sky. The dining room was a reflection of my mom’s artistry featuring a butterfly theme incorporated into the flower arrangements (Tish Long), the wedding cake (Aux Petits Delices), my wedding bouquet, and the place cards, which were sitting atop a bed of real wheatgrass.  The fragrance of fresh white roses filled the entire room and late afternoon sunlight streamed through the large picture windows as our guests laughed, dined, and later danced the night away to the music of our fabulous band, CTO’s 5th Avenue.

My Judd Waddell gown from The Wedding Shoppe in Wayne, PA was pure romance. It was a strapless A-line with a sweetheart neckline, pleated bodice, and layers of organza with beautiful French Alencon flower appliques scattered among the layers. My veil had a few appliques delicately placed along with some netting from my mom’s wedding veil. My mom decided to replace the ribbon at the waist with more delicate lace encircling the waist for the perfect finishing touch. My bridesmaids wore navy strapless chiffon dresses from J.Crew with opera length pearls also from J.Crew and satin sandals in champagne. The bridesmaids’ bouquets were comprised of red roses, pink peonies, chartreuse green hydrangeas, and a touch of delphinium blue. These were the perfect pop of color. The groom wore a deeper gray toned suit, which contrasted handsomely with the groomsmen’s oyster colored suits. Navy polka dot ties and paisley pocket squares completed the look. The whole bridal party looked sensational.

Our photographers (MK Photo) and filmmakers (CinemaCake) expertly captured all of these brilliant colors and the results were stunning. We are forever grateful to them for immortalizing every single special moment from our wedding day so that we can treasure them for years to come.

Our wedding day was an absolute dream; we would not have changed a thing. Besides the overwhelming aesthetics and ideal settings, being surrounded by our supportive and loving friends and family was the true highlight of the day. It was a purely joyous occasion that perfectly captured and celebrated our love.
