Drenched in gorgeous Mexican sunshine and filled with too many beautiful details to count, these intimate Tulum nuptials, captured by Michelle Boyd Photography, are pure seaside perfection. From The Bride…Matt and I both love the beach. It’s where he proposed, and where we want to settle down one day, so it was only fitting for us to say “I do” with our toes in the sand. We stumbled across a pretty little resort in Tulum, Mexico and knew right away that’s where we wanted all of our closest friends and family to join us for our wedding celebration. We had a pretty simple goal for our wedding- a laid-back, relaxing week without all of the usual formalities that come with weddings.
For the actual ceremony and reception, our goal was to keep the style simple and natural. You can’t get any better than the scenery of Tulum, so we wanted the focus to be on the gorgeous ocean backdrop. We said I do in the sand under an arch bursting with greenery, and then took it upstairs to a rooftop cafe for dinner and dancing just as the sun was setting!
Without a doubt, our favorite part of the week was getting to spend so much time with all of our family and friends in the days leading up to the wedding. It literally made our hearts so happy to see all of our guests get to know one another, let alone click so well. The whole week had such a relaxed vibe, which is so fitting for both mine and Matt’s personalities. I mean, what other bride or groom gets to say that they were involved in a competitive pool volleyball game an hour before the rehearsal dinner?
All in all, it was the perfect week/wedding celebration for Matt and I, and I don’t think we would change a single thing about it. We’re looking forward to many more years of happiness, and many more anniversary trips back to Tulum!
