When I first reached out to Sonja over at JS Life & Style about potentially sharing her home with us, it was in thanks to her amazing dining room that I spotted on insta. The chandelier, the rustic wooden table, the chic approachability. Beyond. When I saw all of the imagery though, I was hard-pressed to choose a favorite room (I'm looking at you Master Bedroom) and I was 100% convinced that you would feel the same way. So let's get to it. Oh wait! There is even more in the gallery and Sonja's instagram feed is pretty spectacular, too!

I wanted our dining room to have a coastal feel to it. Adding a rustic wood table and an oversized beaded chandelier achieves a perfect coastal design. I wanted the dining room to have a seamless feel out to the patio. This was accomplished by using tongue and groove in both spaces to unify the outside with the inside.

I wanted a classic, timeless look to my kitchen. You can’t go wrong with subway tile, and carrara marble countertops. Our Large pendant lighting adds that extra bit of glam to the kitchen. For our butlers pantry we added fun swing door with a porthole. It’s a perfect little room to hide all your mess from your guests.

I love wallpaper especially in a powder room, it gives that extra bit of interest. This wallpaper is not too busy and overpowering. It adds a calming, peaceful feel to the room.

When designing our foyer, I wanted company to feel relaxed and welcomed as soon as they walked in.
A bench is great for guest to be able to sit down and take their shoes off. Adding a large pendant light makes the room feel grand and welcoming.

We have a view of Grouse Mountain so I wanted to have high windows and vaulted ceilings to take advantage of it. Adding tongue and groove ceilings adds that extra interest to the room.

I love classic and traditional bathrooms. We used marble basket weave tiles that sparkle against the light, it just looks so pretty! A freestanding tub against the windows and flanking vanities is my favorite part of the bathroom.

We continued the vaulted ceilings and tongue and groove in this room as well. The oversized windows allow an abundance of natural light and a viewpoint for the gardens below. Adding a dramatic floral wallpaper adds the perfect wow factor to the room.

Coastal style was what we were going for in this room. Ocean art prints, chunky knit pillows, with blues and grays tones throughout the room. Wainscoting adds character to the room and helps define the space.

This is the most used room of our house, we are always lounging and watching tv here. I wanted it to be cozy and still have some elegance to the room.

Our main entrance is the mudroom and it’s also connected to the foyer and I didn’t want to have to keep the door shut all the time. Inn designing the room I wanted to have style and an inviting place to be. I wanted to make sure anyone who arrived through the mudroom felt as welcomed and calm as our front foyer. We added a lot of storage cabinets and baskets to hide all our stuff. There is also a walk- in closet to hang more jackets and store shoes.

Our patio is another extension of our home. A cozy lounge area and built-in bbq area is perfect for our entertaining needs.
