Pineapple donuts and fruity cookies by Sugar and Cookies are among the many insanely cute details woven into this party planned by Lemon and Lime Event Design (so fitting!). It's a day to celebrate the first of many birthdays for little Charlotte and it's bright and colorful cuteness at every turn. I would have never thought Runts (the candy) would be my main inspiration for a party, but I was wrong! When I started to plan my daughter Charlotte's first birthday around a fruit theme I landed on getting Runts involved in the invitations. I haven't seen them around in probably two decades, but good old amazon had them on my doorstep in three days.

I'm a lover of bold and colorful so clearly fruit fit well into that vision. Since the runts were so colorful, I knew the invitation needed to be clear or slightly frosted so that the runts could still be the main attraction. MLC designs helped bring the invitations to life with the design of the invitation, box and box label. Our guests loved them and appreciated the candy flash back!

Every month we took photos of Charlotte for her "month" pictures to watch her grow. We bought the monthly stickers from Lucy Darling that were fruits and each month we'd center our "photoshoots" around that fruit. I printed out all of those photos and made a display on our kitchen table with each month displayed using actual fruit as decor.

I knew I wanted a big display piece and White Glove Rentals had the perfect bar that I turned into a dessert station. Buttercream Bakeshop made the most adorable fruit shaped macaroons in addition to an incredible cake. The bottom layer of the cake was made to look like a gold pineapple with the top layer a watermelon. Sugar and Cookies made an assortment of fruit sugar cookies and I bought coconut donuts from Dunkin Donuts and pineapple toppers from Seventh and J on Etsy to complete the dessert options.

Crimson and Clover found mini pineapple vases for the cocktail tables and her large piece for the dessert station was so lovely -- the perfect mix of greenery and bold colors and she of course had to include the mini pineapples.

Meri Meri has some of the cutest fruit decor and I bought a lot of it --- plates, napkins, garland, toothpicks and even fruit glasses for photo props. I set up a little "fruit stand" of favors for guests and they chose from fruit socks or mini pads of paper shaped like apples and pears.

Well Crafted Pizza truck offered Pineapple and Raspberry beer and an apple flavored pizza in addition to their traditional offerings, so we were able to carry the fruit flavors over to the pizza and drinks.

It was such a wonderful (and colorful) day celebrating our little girl. It was great to treat all of our friends and family to a fun afternoon to thank them for being so helpful and loving during our first year of parenthood!
