This little guy is about to break a whole bunch of internet hearts... he's just that cute. And his boy meets adventure nursery designed by Jacquelyn Clark of Lark & Linen is equally as delicious. From wallpaper to baby's first gallery wall, loads of animals and baby books too, see how Jacquelyn helped blogger mom, Anna with Love, create the perfect space for her little bundle of bebe cuteness.
From Anna... It took us three years to get our condo decorated and ‘done’ the way we wanted after Kosta and I got married, for the baby it took us three months. I guess that’s what happens when you are expecting your first bebe - you want everything to be perfect and ready to welcome this new beautiful blessing.
Soon after we found out we were expecting a boy, Kosta and I sat down to discuss the various possible themes for the nursery. I assumed he would take a laissez faire approach to it (he’s super easy going with the rest of our place) but I soon realized he had even more ideas than I did about what to create in our first bebe’s nursery. I was amused and let him take the lead especially after we found out we were having a boy!
My husband loves all animals and he wanted to create a fun environment where our little bebe could learn to appreciate and love them too. I scoured Pinterest and began saving all the different types of nurseries that I felt were warm, inviting and as per Kosta’s request an animal theme. I knew we had WAY too many ideas and different styles mixing together - we didn’t know how to edit our ‘wish list’ and make sure the room would flow.
That’s when I decided we needed a third party to help us bring it all together. I reached out to my talented friend Jacquelyn Clark of Lark and Linen who agreed to consult and walk us through the design and decor process. From picking the right crib, sprucing up the dresser, finalizing the colour scheme and most importantly bringing together the focal gallery wall she was a dream to work with and brought our vision to life. There were so many ‘aha’ moments as it was coming together that I was so appreciative to have her on board.
While I wanted the room to be neutral I did want splashes of colour here and there as well as some interesting pieces of art such as the watermark print from A new Wall. His nursery is our favourite room in the condo. It’s cozy, warm and inviting. The perfect space to raise our first bebe. I cannot wait till he starts talking and begins naming all his animals friends around his room.
From Jacquelyn... I've been warned that designing nurseries, while fun, can be incredibly challenging - you know, lots of hormones, tight deadlines, big expectations, and all that fun stuff. Suffice to say, the exact opposite was true. Anna and Kosta were the sweetest, most humble, most adorable couple, and I most definitely hit the client jackpot with this one. The whole process was such a pleasure from beginning to end, and it was an honour to have my hand in this sweet little boy's nursery.
