This is such a genius combo. First, tacos are the best thing to ever happen to party food and second, a crisp Fall evening is pure magic. Put these all together into a boho al fresco fest masterminded by The Darling Event and the coolest party of the year is formed. See how to blur the lines summer and autumn in the prettiest of ways with even more captured by Kate Thompson in the VAULT.
Layered rugs, moody blooms, and string lights set the scene for our al fresco Dinner with Darling with our favorite local creatives. As event stylists and designers, we rarely get to enjoy our own creations, so we make it a point to host a fabulous fete each season to inspire our guests and share a few cocktails.
The inspiration for our mexi-cali, bohemian dinner party was sparked by fresh jalapeno margaritas with our good friend and boutique caterer, Elizabeth Sullivan of Allium. We had a blast gathering knicknacks and colorful pieces to set the table for this event. Everything from the mix matched wood signs, ceramic place cards, and eclectic rugs came from our desire to emulate the effortless outdoor chic of our design board.
Dinners with Darling are meant to be laid back yet fabulous, and with that in mind we don’t stress too much over the details - in this case it worked out beautifully! Of course we had the unprecedented photography talents of Kate of Betty Clicker Photography to capture our evening. She captured our soiree just as the sun was setting and guests were arriving.
The combination of our hand lettered drink flowchart sign by Capital Calligraphy, neon drinks and garnishes welcomed our guests into the backyard. String lights and candles shed just enough light on our jalapeno infused tonic and homemade sweetened lime juice for invitees to choose from.
We spent the evening eating delectable handmade corn tortillas, spanish rice, carnitas and spicy slaw, sipping on tequila, and laughing over a table covered with beautifully calligraphed tile plates, floral blooms from Amanda Burnette and rental pieces from Paisley & Jade. We had perfectly chilly weather for our spicy yet sweet al fresco dinner. ¡Buen provecho!
