Turning one is kind of a big deal, and this little lady knew exactly how to celebrate. Don't you wish we could all do this on our birthdays? But seriously, her sweet soiree is filled to the brim with so much goodness thanks to Anastasia HaqqLilia Flower BoutiqueFarina Bakeshop and team. To capture Ava’s curious and adventurous spirit we wanted to throw her a 1st birthday that was filled with creation, play and discovery. We decided to throw a fun gold and pastel themed DIY soiree. Guests were invited to an afternoon of bubbly, light-bites, cake and plenty of fun DIY projects. The party took place at Labmpls, a creative workshop space in downtown Minneapolis. The white lofted space with large windows overlooking Loring Park provided the perfect backdrop for an afternoon of play and creativity. Guests noshed on brunch bites of yogurt parfaits, mini quiches, scones, caramel rolls, and macaroons. There was a make your own mimosa- “bubbly bar” with plenty of mixers and non-alcoholic options for the little ones. A fun play area with a tepee, plenty of plush animals and toys was the perfect spot for children to play. Guests made silly faces and used playful props in the pastel themed photo booth. Each table had a DIY art supply station complete with pretty pastel art supplies. Adults and children spent the afternoon painting and creating birdhouses, succulent planters and original pieces of art. We wrapped up the special day with a pretty pastel and gold cake…complete with a mini smash cake for little Ms. Ava.
