We use a lot of eggs in our household. From omelettes to crepes to Sunday morning muffins, and everything in between. And while this might sound like a silly how-to (doesn't everyone know how to crack an egg?), I bet you still get shells in your bowl, right? I've found this trick to be shell-free, super simple and makes me feel fancy in the kitchen.
How to Crack an Egg in One Hand
With the egg in your dominant hand, place your thumb and middle finger on either side of the egg, with your index finger resting on the top. Having even pressure points help give you an even crack.
Make sure that your ring finger and pinky finger are cupping the bottom portion of the egg.
Crack with medium force on a flat surface. I find my counter works better than the side of the bowl I'm using!
Pull apart your egg by separating your thumb, index and middle fingers from your ring and pinky fingers. Voila! You've got a perfectly cracked egg, done with one hand.
