Confession, the minute I saw this little DIY from Classy Clutter I planned a full on craft attack on all of my cheapo x-benches sitting in my house. They have no hope come the weekend. After Mallory's super easy instructions, I do believe every single cushioned seat in our humble abode will be decked out in some fabulous fabric, and I'll be the happiest lady around. See the super simple instructions below...
When I did my bedroom makeover, I had the hardest time finding the perfect chair, bench or stool for my new vanity (tutorial coming soon!). I decided against a chair with arms or a back because I wanted it to be stored completely under the vanity without obstructing the walkway.  Yeah, obstructing. 😉 I finally found a great little bench that was the perfect height at Bed, Bath and Beyond. It’s the Madison Vanity Bench and you can find it here. I wanted to customize it a bit so I grabbed some cute fabric (Buffalo Check from Ikea) and some of my favorite spray paint (Rustoleum Gold Metallic).

First remove the screws underneath the bench and place in a ziplock bag. Spray paint the frame and allow to dry.

While the base is drying, cut a rectangle with about 5-6″ larger than the cushion.

Place in the center of your fabric and pull the fabric tight. Staple one side down and continue around the sides. Don’t worry about the corners just yet.

When the sides are stapled tightly you will pull the corner straight up and staple it flat.

Repeat on all sides.

Once your frame is dry, reattach the cushion. Voila! You’re done. Super easy, right?!
