Is there anything more wonderful than curling up next to the fireplace on a cold day with a good book and mug of hot tea? I didn't think so, but then I saw how The Fashionable Hostess dressed up her mantle for the season, and I was proven wrong—curling up next to this fireplace would be better. With little white pumpkins, mercury glass candlesticks and a scattering of pinecones, this mantle is how you do fall.
From The Fashionable Hostess... I really wanted to keep it elegant and beautiful because this lies in my formal living room which is a bit more of a traditional space. To create the look I picked up a garland of green eucalyptus and laid it across the center of my mantel. I was all about symmetry so on either end I placed small vases of white honeysuckle berries, then a cluster of mini white pumpkins, and then a hurricane vase. In the center I placed a variety of my favorite mercury pieces, like these mercury glass candle sticks with tall candles and mercury vases I found at a local shop in Nashville. The finishing touch was sprinkling pinecones (that I found outside!) throughout any of the white space!
