DIY Pineapple Sugar Scrub
September 5, 2015
If you haven't noticed yet, we've gone a little gaga for pineapples this summer. Tequila and pineapple party? Check! Showing you the right way to slice one? Totally. Pineapple Moscow mule? Oh yes. Thankfully, Wandeleur's Maya McDonald loves this tropical treat just as much as we do, and was kind enough to share her ingenious 3-ingredient scrub with us below!
From Maya... Whenever possible, I always love making my own all-natural beauty products. Recently, I’ve been on a sugar scrub kick and have been attempting to make one from as many summer fruits as I can find. As a lover of all things pineapple, I decided to kick off the last few weeks of summer with a little DIY pineapple sugar scrub that’s easy to make and good enough to eat.

DIY Pineapple Sugar Scrub

  • 1 1/2 cups cane sugar

  • 1/2 cup coconut oil

  • 1/4 - 1/2 pineapple (for 1/2 cup puree)

  • Blender

  • Mixing bowl + spoon

  • Storage jar

Blend the pineapple in your blender for about 40 seconds until smooth, pushing down the sides as needed.

Add coconut oil and continue to blend until well-incorporated.

Transfer pineapple coconut mixture to a bowl.

Mix in sugar, adding more until desired consistency is achieved.

Voila! Store your scrub in the fridge to keep it fresh for the next few weeks to make sure it lasts longer!
