From Mommy-to-be...When my husband and I found out I was pregnant with our first baby, we were ecstatic!

I immediately started thinking about ideas for my baby shower. As the owner of Brag Designs, I have been lucky enough to create backdrops and decorations for some of the prettiest events that I have ever seen. I was so excited to finally work on an event of my own. It was a great opportunity for me to express my love of design and styling by creating all of the details myself. I definitely knew I wanted something clean, fun, and chic. My baby shower was going to be in the Spring, so, I thought a modern bunny theme and a fresh color palette of black and white with accents of pink, green and silver would be fitting.

Knowing that the backdrop was going to be a focal point, I started designing that first. I created a wall of lush green hedges, decorated with a whimsical ikat polkadot bunny and a banner that read “Some bunny is on their way!” Custom-made black and white striped curtains were hung on either side of the hedges to finish the look.

The backdrop was the inspiration for all the other elements. I designed the invitations, signage, and all the other printed pieces for the games using the bunny silhouette, black and white stripes, ikat polkadots, and a charming floral print to add pops of pink and green. To further incorporate the bunny theme, I made little felt bunny pins to be used to play the “Don’t say ‘baby’” game. One of my favorite details was the banner I created announcing the baby’s gender. It was so much fun getting to see everyone’s reaction during the reveal.

Rumy, from Cakes by Rumy created all the lovely desserts. I supplied her with pictures of my invitations, color swatches and and ideas of what I would like everything to look like and she created an array of the most delicious and equally pretty desserts, which were all displayed on vintage cake stands and plates that I have collected throughout the years.

The flawlessly designed, Vertigo Event Venue located in Glendale, set the stage for my baby shower. The modern design and bright space created the perfect ambiance and added so much to the overall design.

For me, a stunning tablescape is everything! The tables were adorned with silver and blush hobnail tea lights, blush satin napkins, tied with exaggerated black and white striped bows, and matching vintage pink stemware from Dish Wish. Each place setting had a cutout of the guests’ name and a card that asked each attendee to make predictions about the baby on one side and to write a note to the baby on the other. The immensely talented team at Petals LA created the gorgeous centerpieces using garden roses, peonies, ranunculus, hydrangeas and lots of leafy greens. The flowers added the perfect touch to the tablescape and tied everything together beautifully.

I had the most incredible afternoon with my family and friends. It couldn’t have been more perfect! I am so very grateful to my incredible mother and sister for not only hosting this phenomenal baby shower but, for all of the time and effort they put into making this day so special for me. I’m also so thankful for my amazing photographer, Krista Mason, for capturing all the memorable moments that I’ll treasure for a lifetime.
