Darling just got taken to an entirely new level with this "Sweet as a Peach" themed first birthday party. I mean, come on, a custom built hideaway built by dear ol' Dad just for the occasion? I just melted into a pile of mush.  Trust me, it only takes one little peek at all the pretty captured by the Auntie behind the camera (Tabitha of Kindled Photography) and you'll be melting right alongside me. It's one cute as can be party.

From Tabitha Brawley, Kindled Photography...When it was time to start planning my niece, Gwyneth June's first birthday party, my sister and I began brainstorming party themes. Kinsley, my sister, suggested incorporating the colors peach and silver. Gwyn loves to eat peaches, and because one of Gwyn's many nicknames is "peach girl," we decided a peach themed party would be perfect!

The lunch menu included all things peachy: a basil, bacon, and peach baked brie, peach and walnut chicken salad on croissants, a blueberry and peach salad, and Carolina peach sangria for the adults. We bought a digital watercolor peach from Etsy seller CornerCroft, and we customized it in photoshop to make our own paper products. The paper peach for the peach sugar scrub favors said, "You're a peach, thank you!" and the one wrapped around the utensils and napkins read "everything is peachy!"

While Kinsley and I were busy with the details of the party, Gwyn's daddy had something even better up his sleeve. Chad enjoys woodworking and by using plans from The Handmade Home, he built a custom hideaway as a birthday gift to Gwyn. The hideaway was such a great space for the children at the party to play. Even the adults discussed wanting to curl up with a good book and relax in the space. When it was time for the smash cake, Chad and Kinsley joined Gwyn on the deck of the hideaway which gave the guests a great view of the birthday girl devouring her cake!

From Chad...As a kid growing up on 3 acres, I loved building forts in the woods with my friends. Now as a dad, I wanted Gwyn to have a place to let her imagination run wild. I found the concept on Pinterest and immediately knew this was the design I wanted for her. We live in Florida and it gets very hot, so the open concept was perfect to keep a breeze flowing. The 8x10 deck is a great size for her to grow in to. She’s not quite big enough for the rock wall yet, but she is loving the slide and the rocking horse. The ways Gwyn will enjoy the space should evolve beautifully as she grows. We envision adding a table or easel for artwork and perhaps a play kitchen for imaginative play. String lights were added so she can play into the night when she's older as well. We are looking forward to the fun, long lasting memories that will be made here in the years to come!
