They most certainly don't make laundry rooms like they use to. Now, they're often populated with wallpaper, pretty rugs and fabulous and functional storage solutions. Which is exactly how we would describe this gem designed by J. Wheeler Designs + photography by Rustic White. It's the kind of place where design lovers and organizing mavens will all feel right at home. Have a look here for more.
A home can never have too much storage and this is especially true in the laundry room. If designed properly, your laundry room can maximize storage to conceal all of the necessities while still being beautiful. Even with plenty of storage for those everyday items and cleaning supplies, a laundry room can quickly get out of order without the proper storage for items ready for washing!
TIPS FOR LAUNDRY ORGANIZATION
1. Think about a custom storage solution with cabinetry on either side of the washer/dryer. Not only a great place to store all of the laundry room necessities, a surface atop the cabinetry (we used a natural stone for this room) also offers a place for folding clothes.
2. Take advantage of high ceilings and add cabinetry above the washer/dryer. This allows for additional storage for concealing detergents and necessities (while also keeping them out of the reach of children).
3. Add shelving and custom organization solutions within cabinetry, like bins, to further maximize storage capabilities while keeping everyday items neatly organized.
4. Create function and organization with beautiful laundry baskets lined with fabric (we used vintage laundry baskets lined with a custom upholstery) to keep clothes organized and off the floor.
The shining star of this gorgeous laundry room is that well styled clothes hamper adorned with custom fabric. It's heaven in basket form and proves that a small piece of the puzzle can totally make a room.
