Kate Spade Inspired Luncheon
October 14, 2014
When something is coined "Kate Spade Inspired" it's pretty much a given that I'm going to obsess over every last detail. Case in point? This Kate Spade Picnic that we crafted a while back and remember this Kate Spade Halloween feature we did? So obviously, this next number from Boutique Bites with photos by Collin Pierson, sent my heart a-flutter. See all of the pics right here!

Anyone who has ever been to Chicago (especially this past winter) can confirm that it gets COLD here. When Mina Lee, the Director of Special Events at The National Hellenic Museum, asked us to create an intimate luncheon to showcase the new space, we jumped!

The vision was to create a boldly colored event that showed the clean lines of the space with pops of patterns layered together. Kate Spade was our inspiration and we incorporated this through the paper items, Shuttergram custom signage and of course the beautiful mismatched china, gold silverware, and gold rimmed glasses. The florals perfectly mimicked the polka dot detail in the napkins.

When guests arrived, they were treated to an infused juice station with cucumber-mint-lime water and watermelon-basil juice. Passed hors d'oeuvres included mini heart-shaped croque monsieur sandwiches, smoked salmon blinis, baby deviled eggs, and bloody mary pipettes with marinated shrimp.

Guests then sat down to a four-course menu starting with an amuse bouche of spring pea soup shooters topped with olive oil powder. Next came a melon and mache salad with basil vinaigrette and mozzarella. For entrees, guests chose between dijon-herb crusted lamb chops with potato dauphinoise and baby vegetables, or seared ahi tuna with a cucumber-daikon salad, avocado, and pickled ginger vinaigrette. Dessert was a duo of mini chocolate pot de creme and an apple-pecan bread pudding bite. It was a beautiful and delicious afternoon!
