You simply can't ask an event planner to keep her hands off her own special occasion, and that's perfectly all right with us- because the result is a baby shower from JCG Events so beautiful it could rival any wedding! The Masis gathered inspiration from their trip to Tuscany and designed the shower around a luscious Italian brunch. With stunning photos from Katie Lopez, you'll want to pore over every detail of this drool-worthy baby shower!

From Jessica Masi of JCG Events: I know it’s unconventional to plan your own baby shower but when you are a planner yourself and in the industry you can’t help but have a style and vision for what you want. This was an event close to my heart because I wanted to make sure to celebrate the arrival of our baby girl, and this next phase in our lives, with our closest family and friends.

Lucky for me, my husband is also a planner, we're co-owners of JCG Events. As I was beginning the planning process he was secretly working on securing my favorite venue in Miami, Villa Woodbine. He wanted to surprise me with everything but soon had to reveal the details because I was busy starting the planning process as well, and it wouldn’t be too long before we would have two showers planned.

Villa Woodbine was the perfect setting for our baby shower. We wanted to create an Italian themed shower to go with the villa setting but at the same time keep the theme subtle and well thought out. It all started with the invitations we designed through Smock, an invitation line we carry. We selected a whimsical font in a taupe letterpress ink and a baby carriage motif and added a pop of color with a neon pink edging. For the calligraphy we chose a matching hot pink ink and collected an array of vintage postage stamps including an Audrey Hebpurn stamp to reference the name we had selected for our baby girl.

The flower table design was a garden inspired design with a vintage collection of vases with bright pink bungavillia, garden roses and peonies with orange touches, over a custom lace table runner. Ines Naftali truly captured our vision and inspiration for the floral design and created a magical setting. The farmhouse tables and collection of white vintage chairs from Unearthed Vintage completed the entire look. On the fireplace mantle behind where “mommy” and “daddy” were sitting, we had two photos of when Michael and I were of similar age about 6 months old. In between the two photos was a small frame in the middle with a pink question mark. In the foyer there were vintage lounge vignettes for everyone to have an area to lounge before and after our brunch.

The brunch menu was inspired by an Italian breakfast we had every morning during while we were in Tuscany for a wedding we were planning last year. The cake was Michael’s favorite flavor- banana cake with salted caramel filling. The bar consisted of a signature drink we named the “Bambina Bellini” which was a take on a traditional venetian cocktail- prosecco, peach nectar and St. Germain. There was also mimosas and Masi white wine available garnished with fresh fruit. After brunch guests mingled in the courtyard where we had a gelato cart with three delicious flavors- pistachio, cappuccino with toffee bites and sweet pear with ginger.

We had a table with a guest book where guests were able to share their wishes and hopes for Audrey, which will be a nice keepsake for her to read later on in life. We also created a station where guests were able to make custom headbands for our baby girl and had stamped tags so they would be able to write their names so Audrey would know who made them. We were able to enjoy our baby shower thoroughly and it was really thanks to this amazing team of vendors that we are lucky to call friends as well.
