DIY Spring Flower Arrangement
March 31, 2014
I'm not going to lie... this DIY spring flower arrangement from Valley & Co. is making me all sorts of happy! Not only is it bright and vibrant and perfectly seasonally appropriate, is it not just the perfect thing to place atop your Easter table? With $4 candy-coloured vessels from Oh Joy's new line (which, let's face it, is the best new thing since sliced bread), I'm totally and completely on board.

Materialswhite hydrangea
lime green viburnum
citrus spray roses
garden roses
fringed and parrot tulips
green amaranthus
festive vessels {we found these bright goblets from Oh Joy! at Target}

instructionsstep-1Fill the vessel 1/2 way with crisp clean water and a tablespoon of 7-up to keep blooms fresh {unless you have floral food}

Clean your stems by removing the base leaves {they'll rot in the water}

step-3Start by placing largest stems first in the water. Clip the ends at an angle and splice - we placed a hydrangea - and then fill around that first piece with accents

step-4Cluster same elements together - like tulips, spray roses and viburnum - this will help to add interest and vibrancy

step-5Fill in the holes with tulips and larkspur, keeping some height off-kilter. The result will be oh-so lovely blooms perfect for the start of spring!
