There are certain people in this world who simply ooze talent. People who's every movement urns into pure gold, and those people are the Novogratz. This husband and wife duo, complete with their 7 kids in tow, have made waves through design land, carried out not one but TWO hit shows, have published multiple books and there's simply no stopping them. They're the best in the biz and they're here today to chat all things kitchens!
SMP: Do you guys have any tips on personalizing a kitchen in a rental home?
THE NOVOGRATZ: Painting the walls a unique color, and changing the hardware on the cabinets makes for a simple yet profound redesign.
SMP: If you were to splurge on one item in your kitchen design, what would it be?
THE NOVOGRATZ: Definitely on the appliances.
SMP: What’s one thing you always try to convince your clients to incorporate into their kitchen?
THE NOVOGRATZ: A kitchen island - for the family to gather around, cook together and enjoy life at home. It's possible to incorporate, no matter how small your kitchen is.
SMP: Do you have a go-to for budget-friendly kitchen tiles?
THE NOVOGRATZ: White Subway tiles with black grout looks like a restaurant but classic and timeless.
