An Elegant Updo in Seconds

If you've ever been a bridesmaid, you know you don't get to just show up looking pretty and then walk with your friends down an aisle. When you say yes to being a bridesmaid, you say yes to helping out with anything the bride may need on her big day. Often, that leaves us with little or no time to get ready. We usually have big plans for blowing our hair out, curling it and doing a final touch up. But in reality, you look down at your watch, realize you have to be photo-ready in under an hour and end up having a teeny tiny heart attack. Always good to have one of these life savers on hand in case you or one of your fellow maids is running behind.

Pick up an elegant headband. You can find these at Anthropologie, Nordstrom, Kohl's, BHLDN and many other retailers. (Brides -- you may want to have one up your sleeve as well!)

Starting with clean, dry, slightly textured hair, slip the headband over your head.

Working from the centre of your head, out, start tucking your hair up and over the elastic band at the back. No need to be perfect here, it's the imperfection that gives this updo that romantic feel.

Pin any loose pieces to secure as needed.
