A Super Bowl Party!

At last, we're ready to share our Super Bowl Fiesta in all it's glory. Filled to the brim with all things bright and festive, we had far too much fun putting this event together. Too bad there isn't a Super Bowl every Sunday, am I right? After divulging all of our recipes, plus a handful of awesome DIY's (herehere & here), we hope that you now feel fully equipped to tackle your own gorgeous Super Bowl Fiesta. As usual, don't miss the rest of the gallery! Hello Love Photography did such a wonderful job of preserving each and every bit of this fantastic event.
We were of course inspired by the idea of twisting and turning that black and white referee print into something totally fabulous. So we used the classic stripe as our base with linens from our super great friends at BBJ Linens here in Boston. We wanted a party that felt chic and sophisticated while still being wildly laid back and easy. Food that people really want to eat, cocktails that people really want to drink and a style that is neither he nor she but feels perfectly perfect nonetheless.
The amazing peeps at Noritake shared some of their modern white dinnerware with us and we couldn't have found a better foundation for the food that we were conceptualizing. We needed something simple, with clean lines that allowed the food to sparkle but that felt substantial and solid in hand. Noritake fit the bill to perfection. Our black and white invitations - with an easy DIY - and paper goods were simple, modern and captured the football spirit without being cheese central.
As for the menu, we wanted our taco bar to take center stage so we made sure to include all of the ingredients that tasted great slightly chilled and didn't require day-of fuss. We had all the fixins' available from guac to pico and everything in between. The result was a colorful (and oh yes, we let the food become a part of the decor because, well, why not!) spread of fresh deliciousness that this group of girls devoured in about ten minutes flat. To accompany our meals we included an fresh lime margarita, just the way we like it.
For dessert, mini lime infused bundt cakes and chocolate dipped strawberries that may or may not be styled to look like a football. Okay, we had to let the Super Bowl cheese seep in a little bit. It's only fitting.  We jazzed up dessert with a little game of Super Bowl Commerical Bingo (ummm, best part of the game...who's with me?) and we could finally kick back with a glass of Stout (we're fancy like that) poured into ice glasses, of course, and enjoy the game. Well, faux game because clearly this is a photoshoot and the Big Game was really just a round of Bingo.
Before everyone left, Jess handed out perfectly perfect margarita favors. They came complete with adorable downloadable labels, margarita mix, a lime and a mini bottle of booze. The DIY is right here and I'm throwing my hat in the ring for best favor ever.

So there you have it. A simple, chic, totally not Super-bowly Super Bowl party. This is for the girls, for the boys and for anyone who thinks that football can totally be elevated to a place of pretty. So whether you plan on spending the entire game gossiping in the kitchen with the girls or you fully intend to kick your heels up and immerse yourself in boys with balls, rest assured that the party will be fabulous.
